You lead your party to the next door, trailing groans of horror and pain. Inside the stone building, a raised stone walkway leads up towards the counter. On both sides of the walkway is running water, tinged red by blood. From the ceiling hangs haunches and slabs of meat, drained of blood and salted down. A tall stone counter holds cuts of meat and a rack of knives ranging from an inch long to short sides. There's even an axe, it's thick and heavy head spotted with wet blood.

"Sure, we're up to it. Where do they live?" You ask the butcher, who points to a map of the island that hangs from his wall. A glowing yellow piece of the map stands out, in the south eastern part of the island. You look at your own map, a free item given out to everyone at the start of the game, and find that the same spot is glowing on the canvas.

Your questlog pops up, the butcher's quest shining in blue above your other quest. Another notice comes up, of butchering tools. Fun!

Leaving the bloody building, Yuki's new hammer hits a goat leg and sets it swinging. The haunch of meat sets off a chain reaction, all of the hanging meats rocking like an Newton's cradle.

You check your map, which has shops marked in white and black symbols. The general store is about a five minutes walk across town. With the fight against the Dragonborn, you used up some of your potions. Time to restock.

Across town, the general store stands between a tailor and a house for sale. The store's a one story brick building, with a wagon wheel above the doorway. You enter it and the multitude of goods cover every inch of the floorspace. Racks on the walls hold potions, knives, clothing, and a few small wooden boxes.

HP Crystal: 50

Potions and Crystals are slightly different in their effects. HP potions function as artificial levels of Battle Healing that only last for a certain amount of time and only heals a certain amount of damage. Crystals are instant.

Poison is obvious, they can make the PC, NPC, or monster suffer the described effects

That poison's low level, I assume. Maybe Emily or Tori could use that, or even Henry with his spear.

Before you leave the town, you stop by a place that you believe will be a good place to sell the Mantids. The chef at the restaurant gives you 7 Cor per mantid, for a total of 700 Cor.

After selling the mantids to the sleepy-eyed chef, you stop by Lee's Blacksmith shop. Chris is banging at a plate of glowing metal, slamming it into a small breastplate as you watch. "Hey guys, what's up?" Chris says, wiping away a bead of sweat on his forehead. He's wearing his clothing, a red shirt and tan pants, along with a leather smock thats covered in black dust.
"About to go out on a quest. What have you been doing?" Emily says, sitting down on a crafting bench. Chris smiles and puts his new breastplate in a rack of similar ones.
"Leveled up my smithing, twice since I started. Lee's been having me make these breastplates, seems they are our biggest seller." Chris shuts off his forge, pressing a button on the side to shut it off.

After ten minutes of talking, you leave the forge and set across town toward the road. You travel through the forest path, the green leaves painting the ground in a speckled pattern. Eventually, at 11:28, you pass out of the forest and into a plain. Small ridges move across the plains, forcing the grass up as the monster passes below. Now, how to draw them out...?

"Okay, make two lines. I'll pull agro, you guys attack it's sides while it's between the lines. Look out for anything attacking from the outside." You watch as your party forms into two lines. Once you're set up, you start walking in formation into the plain. Almost instantly, the two closest ridges stop.

The hidden monsters disappear, their cursers the only indication of them. Well, thats not good. You Howl, the monsters shifting their course to head at your feet.

The first one comes close, it's red curser only ten feet away. Suddenly, the earth bursts open! Three tentacles shoot out at you from the hole, whipping at your shield. The painted wood holds up against the lashing tentacles, when you chop out at them with your Dwarven axe. Six inches of the monster's tentacle drops to the ground, staying in place.

You Howl again, then sprint back between the lines of your party. The monster bursts out of the ground, it's tubular body flying trough the air. It slams down on the grass, tiny legs pulling it forward. Your friends jump at it, their weapons digging white lines into it's brown skin.

With it's health falling with each strike, the monster writhes forward and lashes at you with it's tongues. You slice at it's tongues, then rush forward for a Shield Charge. The wooden shield glows green as it slams into the three piece beak, cracking it's upper piece.

"Low levels finish it!" You shout as you slam your axe down at the monster's head(?) in an Executioner's Strike. Your blade...catches somehow, blood spurting up at your armored body. Ew.

With a splash of greenish liquid blinding your right eye, you lift your shield up and block the monster's tentacles. Your friends keep wailing on the monster, leaving bloody wounds on it's brown sides. Finally, the monster dips down into the very low red. Yuki lifts her hammer, and drives the point into the monster's tail. Embedded in the ground, the monster is unable to move outside of a circle.

Machi rushes forward and swings her mace down at the monster's head. With her strike, the monster rolls over and it's HP bar breaks into pieces.

The monster doesn't.

Why are your friends smiling so much?

"Your turn Sam." Henry says through a giant grin. He opens his inventory, and removes a brown canvas roll. He hands it to you, and the roll unrolls. Seven knives and one axe are in the canvas, speckled with blood. "Enjoy butchering him."

>>37148355
Skinning is a good idea, but I don't know how to actually do that. I'm just fairly you only want a single cut so the skin remains in one piece.

I was considering opening it from the top and ripping out the spine with Unrelenting Force, but that would slurry the organs.

There's GOT to be someone who can craft stuff from spines, though.
>>
Hey, do we still have that fishing rod from a whiles back?
We could totally stick some meat on it and bait worms onto favorable ground with it.
>>
Remembering a lesson from Basic(it was really just a book with pictures), you decide to start with severing the head. Three blows from your Dwarven Axe, and the beak and about a foot of flesh is separated from the monster. Dear god, the smell. It's like rotting fish, mixed with the fake clean of a hospital. And thats just from cutting off the head!

You cut a line from it's neck, down to where Yuki's hammer stabbed a hole. With a pair of hooks, you peel away the leathery skin. The little legs twitch, the nerves still firing. You take a moment to make sure that it's just that, then cut away the fat and muscle from the monster's belly. You rupture something, as a spray of thin yellow fluid hits your chest. Fuck, some got on your cloak!

Shrugging(and wiping) the liquid off, you continue in your dissection. It would make sense for the poison sack to be near the front, so you start there. A few of the organs look familiar, the heart, lungs(three of them), and stomach. You cut away the heart and lungs, clearing the ribcage up a bit. While it helps, it also leads to your arms being drenched in it's blood. Why does it have such thick blood?

With the main organs removed, you're able to use your Search skill. The gallbladder and liver shine blue, encased in muscles and other organs. You begin the grisly business of removing them, being careful not to let the gallbladder spill on the carcass. Then off comes the liver, which it deep in the monster. The only way to remove it is to get in there, head first.

You emerge from the monster, clutching the knife between your teeth. In your hands, is a lump of flesh the size of a small dog. A corgi, perhaps. Blood coats you from the chest up, your blue shirt covered and made red. Thats one way to re-dye your shirt.
1/2
>>
Leaving the carcass to dissolve into white light now that you removed the organs, you notice the ring of battle off to your right. Your friends have been protecting you, as the two Death Worm carcasses display. Dear god, you have to do this again?
>4 Death Worms Later

You decide to go to the spring, seeing how no one will come within ten feet of you.

As the sun sets on the first level of Aincrad, you walk through the mossy forest. Luckily, the spring is a safe zone, so you can just relax in it. The sun is almost gone, and you step out onto the grass of the safezone. Rocks poke up from the water, which is gurgling slightly in the evening. A small waterfall is an arch sends the water into ripples, the lines of cool water hitting with a glopping sound.

You strip off your bloodsoaked shirt, and throw it into the water. The red blood slowly seeps out of the fabric, staining the waters. You follow it in, the cold water raising the hairs on your legs. Funny, Kayaba even thought to program in that tiny detail. He's an asshole, and you will beat his head into a pulp by the end of the game. But you have to give him props for building this world.

The waterfall serves as a shower, the first in a week. The game normally doesn't have you get dirty, but showering is just one of those familiar things you don't notice until it's gone.

It's been one month since you started playing SAO. And it's been strangely...normal. Sure, you don't usually kill monsters for a living, but the people. The friendships. Thats the stuff that is real. Nothing else is this sick little world, but still you soldier on. For Chris. For Emily. For Henry. For Paul. For everyone in the Town of Beginnings, the people that are too scared to leave the walls because their friends died at the hands of a wolf or mantis.

News has been circulating for the last few days, of a meeting at Tolbana for everyone willing to fight. You were nearby, camping a monster spawn point. And literally camping, in a little tent with Henry. So, you walked over to the Inn and booked rooms in advance. Ever since someone found out about the tavern girls' special programing, renting a room is almost impossible.

Now, you're sitting in a tight knit bunch among a group of maybe thirty five players. A blue haired guy just explained that he found the Boss room with his party, and wants to set up a raid group. Some guy with a stupid haircut just bounded down the stairs and said that all Beta players should hand over their money. A black guy, about your height, put him down and stopped the guy's little moneymaking scheme.

Now, you have a day before you head out to the Labyrinth to fight the boss. What do you want to do before it?

Made from the sickle of Chronos, forged by the god Hephestus, then lost in the battle that claimed Achilles, the Axe of the Titans is fit for a god. And what are you, but one?

With a blade as dark as night and the celestial bronze worked into staff, the Axe of the Titans stands six feet tall and weighs fifty pounds. Nothing for you, really. Most people would struggle to use it, but you can work the blade masterfully.

You pay for the axe, sliding your smaller axe and shield into your inventory.
>-3000 Cor

You look at the throwing weapons next, the three inch darts and the small axes. As there are no real ranged weapons in SAO, these weak ones are the only thing that can be thrown(excluding rocks). As such, you want some. You grab four of the throwing axes, and trade 200 Cor for them.

Everyone in the store, your friends and the other players, blows their reserves on new items. You got the Axe of the Titans and throwing axes. It's a shame you don't have the throwing weapon skill leveled. You can still throw them, they just won't be as strong(though Unrelenting Force will help). Henry buys a new spear, with a needle-like blade. A small hole is in the tip, leading to a well for poisons.

Emily gets a new sword, the blade continuing her Lawrence of Arabia theme. Black ripples cover the blade, shifting as she places it in a blue felt sheath. Machi got a new enchantment on her circlet, upping her Sunshark's power. She also got a new mace, that looks like someone put a GoT dragon egg on a stick. Yuki is wearing a new set of mail, this one made of the same bronzy ore as your Dwarven Axe. It contrasts well with her copper hair that cascades down her back.

Having spent over half of your money, you leave the shop. A drifting scent sends your mouth into overdrive. Smells like fried mantid! Since you sold them, you had to try at least one dish with them. Friend mantis seemed the most normal, so you ate the little crispy buggers. They. Are. Amazing! Somehow, Kayaba managed to combine all the best fried foods into one delicious dish. Ever since, you've craved the little monsters and eaten them once a week.

You walk across the muddy street to the restaurant, where a smiling NPC man is serving three couples dinner. You order eight boxes of the fried mantids, placing the food into your inventory so it stays warm.

Try to take their minds off stuff, maybe another truth or dare game, lots of fun and excitement before we go into the dungeon. Test out our axe make sure we can use it right as well.
>>
You take the Stygian iron and Celestial Bronze axe from your back, holding it up in the street. An old women walks by you with a curious look, then gets back to her programing. You lift the blade up in an Executioner's Strike, the black head encased in green light. The heavy blade falls with a disturbing slowness, until it hits the ground. A small ripple goes through the mud.

In SAO, weapon speeds follow a set of rules. Much like the Skyrim system, swords are fastest. Then axes, then maces. Two handed weapons are the slow weapons, hammers the slowest of all. They trade off speed for power, dealing more damage but being easier to bock. The force can still send the target flying, but will do little damage when blocked. A shield slows down the one handed weapons by one class, swords being as fast as axes, axes as fast as maces, etc. As such, rapiers or onehanded swords with an open hand slot are the fastest weapons in the game.

This is all just a general rule, as high level War hammer users might be faster than a low level axe user.

You run through all of your possible Sword Skills, NPCs moving around you in a large circle. Once you're done, you sit against the shop's wall to wait for your friends. After a few minutes of resting, your party exits the building in their new gear. Chris, who couldn't make it in time to get to the meeting, said that he would get the news from Emily. She's armed with a pair of teleport crystals, the blue boxes clipped to her belt.

You lead the party to the inn, where every room is either booked or in use along with the tavern wenches. Only the barkeep, an old man that's still oddly muscular and a player working as the cook are at the tavern part of the inn. You sit and get served by the harried cook, who places two racks of boar ribs on the table for your party.

Well, you might die tomorrow. Might as well go out like your viking ancestors.

"Barkeep, mead for the table!" You shout, and the player nods to you. Seems a lot of people have the same idea, as he carries out a giant barrel on his shoulder. The thing must weigh over two hundred pounds, yet the small asian boy carries it with ease. He must have put a lot of his points into strength.

>Tomorrow Morning

What the fuck happened?

The last thing you remember is the asian guy pouring mead from the barrel like it was a wine bottle. After that, things get fuzzy. And you're not just talking about your cloak.

Anyway, you've been walking through the dungeon for about two hours now. The hangover is gone, a greasy breakfast serving as an antidote. Diavel is in the front of the group, his blue head bobbing with each step. He lifts his fist up, the sign that was beat into you at Basic, and you stop instantly. A greasy looking guy that reminds you of the person you bumped into on the first day is slower to react, and slams into you. He bounces off your back, hitting a wall of fur and chitlin.

"Okay people, the boss here is named Illfang the kobold lord. We are gonna go in, remember to stay in your squads.

You chose to tank for this battle, arming yourself with your shield and +19 Dwarven Axe. It's not as strong as your new weapon, but as a tank, being able to block attacks is more important. Anyway, your axe is still pretty strong.

It's 12:31, and the blue haired guy is talking strategy. You listen with half an ear, eating the succulent friend mantis with your normal party. They've split up into the different squads, depending on their skill set. Machi is tanking with you, in Squad B. Diavel says that squads A and B will draw agro, with squads C through E are the main damage dealers. F and G are ranged weapons, spears and polearms. They'll be fighting the minions. A lone girl stands off to the side, clutching a thin sword. Her face is obscured by a cloak.

Diavel finishes his speech, and it's time to move out. HURA!

The doors open in, sweeping across the floor, which is made of shifting light. A network of grey lines cover the floor, breaking the light into pieces. A rotund red monster roars, holding a massive axe. You want it. Three small monsters in helmets and plate stand at it's flanks, menacing crude war hammers. The monster doesn't do anything at first, letting you set up.
1/2
>>
You are in the reserves of the squad B, with a black guy who holds a two handed are. He introduced himself as Agil earlier. He twirls the axe in nervous anticipation, the twin heads spinning into a block of steel.

The monster roars once more, and it's three Kobold Sentinels rush forward. Spear points, one of them Henry's, form a hedge and stab holes into the monsters. One monster falls to the ground instantly, twitching with white foam coming out of it's helmet. Tori really worked on her drug mixing skill, and gave Henry some of her best poison. sadly, she was only able to collect enough to make three vials.

The Boss, Illfang, is charging forward. The ground trembles with each step, and it swings it's axe at two Howling players. They duck under it, being built as dodge-tanks, and three people in Squad A block the blow on their scutums.

The three roman styled players topple over with the blow, one flying into a support column. Agil looks at you and nods, and you rush forward while Howling to draw the monster away from the fallen tanks. It turns, snarling as it's eyes burn red with anger. Maybe this was a mistake.

The monster flicks it's axe back at you, the blade grabbing hold of your shield. you fly away from Agil, who ducked under the blow. A stone column crumbles behind you, and you slam into the wall of light. With your HP already at 628/1200, you thank god for battle healing and potions. The monster is facing the min body of players, a bit of white spit covering it's muzzle. Seems Tori put some poison on darts and has been throwing them at the monster boss.

A "C" of polearms is on the monster's side, stabbing up at it while protected by tanks with one handed spears. Agil and Diavel are in the front, chopping at the monster with an axe and sword. It's health is dropping, the first bar already gone. However, most of the tanks are at 75% or below of their health. At this rate, all the tanks will be dead before you can kill the Boss. And this is Level 1!

As you watch, three Kobold Sentinels materialize. They instantly assault the two handed weapon uses, who've been doing the most damage. One comes up behind a tank, and smashes it's hammer into her undefended back. The girl crumples, but not before pulling her scutum over her body. The monster wails at the wood, hollow thuds echoing across the boss room.

With your health at about half, you sit in the ruins of the of the column while your health regenerates. In a few seconds, you're back up to 80%. God, leveling Battle Healing was the best thing possible.

You stand up again, the multicolored light making your Jewel Cuirass changes color rapidly. The Boss slams it's axe down at the block of pole arms, taking numerous cuts to the legs and body from the other thirty or so players. The bone blade chops one player's left arm and leg off, leaving them to be dragged off the the side. Someone with a kite shield and a war pick uses a healing crystal on him, new limbs growing in a few seconds.

You stay silent and start running at the Kobold Lord, the round shield streaming blue light that originates from the shield boss. You leap over a fallen halberd, and lean into the shield as it hits the monster.

Off balance from an attack, the monster's knee buckles when you hit it. You freeze for a moment, the giant monster falling in slow motion. At the last millisecond, you dive to the side and perform a cartwheel while holding your shield and axe. That year in gymnastics paid off. Totally worth being called gay by your brother. What? No, I''m not projecting. Why do you ask?

Everyone rushes in on the fallen monster, a few people staying back to hold of it's guards. It's health drops to the second to last bar, the color changing into red.

"Thats not a talwar!"

You land and skid across the smooth floor, accompanied most of the strike team. You stand, as the monster cuts a glowing swath in the floor and fallen players. Diavel stands next to you, with his sword and buckler raised.

Diavel rushes forward with you, his bastard sword shining silver. You split up as the monster focuses on Diavel, sweeping the polearm at his feet then his head. The blue haired player leaps and rolls over the blade, coming up for a spinning Sword Skill at the monster's side. With three stripes on it's belly, the monster bats at Diavel with the butt of it's staff. The wood hits Diavel's shield, glancing off while dealing a bit of damage as it clips his shoulder.

You cut into the monster with your one handed axe, shield bashing the monster to knock him off balance. Diavel blocks the monster's stab, parrying it into the ground. He leaps from the floor to the monster's head height, and grasps his sword with two hands. The blade drives into the monster's eye, and the player's weight pulls him through the monster.

A glowing stripe passes from the monster's eye to it's thigh, and it's HP is almost gone. You use an Axe Spin, dealing more damage to the dying monster. A needle shoots out of the crowd of fallen players, and embeds itself in the monsters remaining eye.

The monster fractures, breaking into pieces from Tori's dart. A +2 weapon killed the boss. Your health is at 262/1200, your nerves are fried, and you want some thing to drink. The boss battle lasted seven minutes.

ok, Kayaba, here's the thing, now that the dust has settled.
going by the novels i was reading between updates, you're suppose to have the skill for whatever weapon your using equipped in a skill slot to use it or skills for it.
so instead of your slots being Battle healing, Howl, and Unstopable force, it would be Axes, Healing and Howl/UF for the last slot.

this is me being a huge nitpicking faggot and if you purposely did that, than feel free to keep doing so, but if you want to go ahead and fix change it from here on, that's fine too.
>>
Diavel looks at his troops, one of which just equipped a new item. Tori's wearing a black coat that reaches below her knees, one of which is missing.

"Everyone okay? Did anyone get killed?" Everyone looks around at their friends, checking for them. No one calls out so Diavel smiles broadly and continues. "Good job everyone. If we keep this up, we'll be home soon. Let me know if you need anything."

You rush over to your friends, who've clustered around Tori. A few other people are there as well, looking on in jealousy over her rare item. One, the guy with silly hair from the meeting looks especially pissed about it. Whatever, he wasn't at the front fighting so he has no right to the coat.

Having the skill in place amps up the power and lets you level it to get new and better moves. The ones you have right now are the basic, starter skills. Also, those are just the things equipped. Sam leveled a few others(like fishing, cooking, etc), but doesn't have them on most the time.

You sit down next to Tori and the rest of your friends, then reach over to the black swordswoman. Her leg is almost fully healed, just the foot missing. "Next time, don't steal my kills." You noogie her, then turn it into head pats.
"You already have that cloak. I need this more than you." Tori runs her hands across the smooth black fabric. You laugh, along with your party. Finally, Diavel comes over, after handing out healing crystals to people who really need them.

"Hey, good job man." The blue haired knight says. You bump fists with him and thank him for setting this up. If only a party had attacked it, they would have been slaughtered. He turns to Tori. "Nice throw, by the way. You probably did the most damage to the boss with that poison of yours. Could I buy some for the next battle?
"Umm. Yeah. I'll need to get some more venom, but I can get it for you. "

You leave the blushing girl with your party, heading to the back of the Boss room. A large circular stone sits above ground level, glowing with a green marking. You step onto it, and watch the world disappear.

A town surrounds you, made of a uniform brown stone. A square pillar in front of you holds today's date and the time of Illfang's death. A small carving, weathered by age, depicts the legless Tori throwing a poison dart into Illfang's eye.
>Time skip to level three, simply because level 2 is boring and kinda fluffed out.

You step out onto the teleport pad, and see a replica of the pillar on the floor below. This one, instead of Tori, has a carving of a young player with whiskers killing the Minotaur with an gladius.

The air is thick with moisture, and a steady buzz fills the air. A thumping draws your attention, so you climb one of the houses. The forest is dense and hides the ground, but a few plains dot the landscape. You look over toward the walled city's entrance and see something from your childhood.

You're back at the level 1 boss room. A few tanks are sitting up against a column, their three roman scutum stored away. The cloaked girl is off by herself, eating a roll with something on it. A pair of players, who look like siblings, are armed and armored in the same things. The guy isn't in a skirt of course, but the color and patterns are the same. The legionary on your left speaks, "I'm a girl"
"Good. It was starting to be too much of a sausage party." You say. She doesn't seem to understand, but the other two start snicker.
The muscular guy stands up, moving the box off his lap. Looks like it's a burger and fries. He looks at his partners, who nod. "Sounds good to me. When you planning to make the guild?"
"Well, as soon as we can. The guidebook says it's possible at the third level."

The three tanks finish their burgers, then walk over to the your party. They go through the introductions, pointing over at you once.

You walk over to the siblings. They look about the same age, so they might be twins. Fraternal, not identical obviously. "Hey, guys. What squad were you in?"
The male looks up from where he's fiddling with a lock. Funny, Tori does the same thing. "D. You were with the tanks, right? Yeah. You body slammed Illfang. That was awesome dude! YOu just rammed him and he was all like-"
His twin plays the role of Illfang. "Aw shit! My knee!"
Back to the boy. "Then we came in started stabbing the shit out of him!...What were you saying again?"

"We're trying to make a guild. You want to join?"
The twins speak together. "Sure."
"I'm Ty" The guy says.
"I'm Rin" The girl says.

You walk with the twins(who walk in step with each other) over to your growing group, that now holds about a fourth of the players that fought Illfang.
>Back to Level 3!

Your guild, made up of five tanks(including you), five DPS'es, one smith/DPS and one healer. The twins wield rapiers, and have started dressing with silly hats and odd clothes. The legionaries act as tanks, their shields upgraded by Chris to deal more damage. Their armor is styled after greek cuirasses and roman lorica segmentata. Everyone is level fourteen. They pop up on the teleport plaza, fresh from the last boss battle.

As levels get higher, the more XP is needed. From now on, an average of 1-2 levels per floor is normal.

Kinda like pokemon, the first gym is when you grind a huge amount to get on the leader's level. After that, you can just go with the flow and battle as the story goes on.

I think we should be a completion guild.
After a boss fights we sweep the level 4-5 down for completion for exp grinding and money making slow and steady wins the race.

The guide book said that theres a quest to make a guild, that is needed to be finished before the guild is recognized by the game. Says you need to go to the main square and read the bulletin board there.

As such, you jump down from the building(sending a puff of dust up) as you hit the road. You call out to the potential guild, made up of the weirdoes. Most people are dressed in Japanese style armor. You look like a Viking, accompanied by Roman legionaries, a Greek Hoplite, the Princess of Persia, and a few normal people.

They follow you through the street, until you reach a large square dominated by a trio of fountains. A small cork board is filled with requests and advertisements. One, a large poster with a painted shield, stands out with the word "guild".

"Slay a Swordmouth. Warning! This should not be undertaken without a minimum of ten players."

"You guys want to kill a rex?" The twins' faces light up, giant smiles covering their faces below their feathered hats. The others look a bit more apprehensive about fighting the greatest killers that have graced Earth with it's presence.

To prepare with the hunt, you decide to grind for a little while. After four days of grinding against small dinosaurs(including Iguanodons and a Concavenator[a smaller trex-like monster]), you decide to venture into the deep forest.

Armed with both of your axes and shield, and accompanied by your up-armored parties, you step out into the undergrowth. The air is filled with the buzz of giant insects and the light footfalls of small dinosaurs. The ground is wet, your boots planting in the soil and leaving holes that start to fill with a small amount of water.

A shriek goes out from a small cluster of fallen trees and tangled ferns, a bundle of red lights looking out from the brush.

The trio of legionaries, led by Hector, line up after Hector shouts out; "Ad aciem!" Their shields interlock, and the other shield users(you included) extend the line in an arc. Shaped like a "C", you stand at ready as the rest of your guild sets up. Tori pulls out crystals and poison darts, hopefully she doesn't mix them up. That poison of hers is strong. The twins separate and draw their rapiers from their narrow sheathes. Yuki follow Ty, resting her bone hammer on her shoulder.

"Tori, fire at ready." You call out to the black clad girl. She nods and flicks the glowing needle at the brush. Instantly, one of the lights winks out. What kinda monster are you fighting?

The monster bursts from the bushes, multiple mouthes open. "Hydra!" Hector shouts. He quickly resends his claim, as the monster breaks into seven dog sized raptors. Why do they look so familiar? Kinda like velociraptors, but small.

One flies up, sinking it's small claws into Octavia's shield. The monster's head darts over the shield's lip, biting into her face. Hector's sword cleaves the monster in two.

One flies at your face, it's small claws finding purchase on your shield's boss. A dart of yellow throws the monster off you, then turns around to return to Machi. Three of the monsters are already dead, though none by your hand. There are four left.

A monster rushes you after you howl, followed by another of it's kind. You take the weight of the monsters on your shield, easily seventy pounds of meat and bone. Or pixels, if you think about it.

They're too close for you to use your axe, so you do the rational thing. You drop the axe, and grab hold of the next weapon closest to you.

Which proves to be a Compy.

The monster wails as you rip it off your shield. It's screams die down after you smack it against your shield and it's sibling. The monster being beaten by a monster drops to the ground, darting between your legs.

The monster's running off with your axe!

You follow the monster's curser, which ducks and weaves through the low plants. You break through them. Your friends disappear as you run, leaves covering the world.

You lose the monster for a moment, then find it's glowing curser once more. Five minutes of breaking through the bush, you trip over the monster.

You get five damage from running into the monster and your axe, but you grab hold of the little cunt. You smash your shield rim into the monster's back, chopping it in half through pure force.

Then you notice where you are.

You are in a small crater, with a single egg half covered by leaves. It's kinda green, with brown and tan swirling through the primary color. Wonder what could lay this kinda egg, seeing how it's the size of your fist.

Well, you just stole some monster's baby. Time to get the fuck out of dodge.

"Well, unless we want to find out what monster I just stole, we better get going!" You shout, then lead the race out of the jungle. Henry and Tori quickly take the lead, their Acrobatics skill letting them parkour over fallen logs, jump between trees, and generally act like Tarzan. A crashing emanates behind you, making you run even faster.

You break from the jungle, out onto the grassy plains surrounding the town. A roar comes from the trees, but you just keep running. Another comes from hight up, at the top of the canopy. You keep running.

You burst through the gates, with your guild strung out around you. You check to see if anyone got left behind. Everyone's here.
>Shit nigga, you just stole a dino egg!
>You a real nigga now
>What do?

"Everyone alright? Yeah? Good. Lets go get this appraised."

You lead your guild to the closest restaurant, hoping that they'll be able to identify it. Right now, it reads "EGG".

The french chef looks in wonder at the speckled egg, then nods. Your guidebook glows in your eyes, and you flip to the highlighted pages.

"GREEN CLAWFOOT/ WYVERN"

The Green Clawfoot has Acid and Poison resistance. They are the largest of the clawfoot family, with males growing to twenty feet long including the tail.

All Clawfeet evolve into small wyverns at level 75. They are possible mounts in combat if the Riding skill is at level 10 and the mount is level 25 or up.

I'm pretty sure we're not the type to do that. We'd probably just grab her and start cheering and laughing maniacally while holding her up.

>>
>>37168767
Uh, only Machi's shark was level nine before we cleared the first floor.
>>
Yes. Thank you Odin, I will make you proud.

By riding a dinosaur into battle.

You turn to your closest party member, who in this case is Machi. Lifting her up effortlessly, you speak.

"Can I keep it? Can I keep it? I promise I'll feed him and pet him and keep him warm and pet him!" Dear god, how did your voice get so high. And why did you get flashbacks to when you found that stray dog?

"Um, sure. It's your egg." Machi says to you. Yay! "Can you put me down now?"
"Oh, yeah. Sorry." You lower the girl back to the floor, where she isn't in danger of being lit on fire by the chandelier.

Wait.

This little guy will be able to fly.

He'll be able to fly.

YOU'LL be able to fly!

"Heheheheheheheheheehehehehehehehe" You start giggling, already planning out how you'll do this. You're gonna need a bed for him, a saddle, food. What do Clawfeet like to eat? You'll find out later. You look over at Machi again, whose looking a bit scared that you'll put her head near flames again.

"YOU WILL HELP ME RAISE HIM! AND WE SHALL RIDE INTO BATTLE, SIDE BY SIDE!" Dear god, did you just cum? This is glorious. Can you have multiple? No. Machi said you can only have one. Fucking Kayaba. Why can't you have a party of them? What if you found more... For all your friends...

"A glass of your best for the whole place!" You shout to the chef, who quickly brings out glasses for your party of what looks like rum or whiskey.

Wow, that is good. Definitely rum. But it's made from something different than normal. Must be something only available on level 3.

Now, how to get your mount to hatch. The book said something about poison. Needing it to get rid of the shell! So, you just need to pour poison in the little guy. Seems easy enough, seeing how Tori has an arsenal of it.

"Tori, give me some weak poison. I want my pet." Tori hands you a vial of purple liquid, and you get a bowl from the chef. You place the hand sized egg in it, then pour the liquid onto the green and brown shell.

A chirp comes from inside the egg as the poison hits, followed by a crack in the top. The crack spreads, a little plate being cut out. You watch as the egg piece is pushed from it's place, and is replaced by a wittle tiny beak. It's so cute! No homo. The egg continues to break up, and the monster fumbles to get out of the shell. Finally freed from it's prison, the baby Clawfoot starts biting at the shell and lapping up the poison.

Once it's consumed it's shell and drank all of the poison, it looks up at you with small black and orange eyes.
