Welcome to Xenocide Quest!
You are ANDR[u]-117, your story begins here!
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/37024508/
This is the first thread, but I fucked up the archive

“Wait!” you hear called out behind you, followed by the pattering of feet behind you. You and NDL-74 continue to make your way towards the bridge, even as one of the humans, Marie “Hitler”, pushed in front of you and whipped around, hand facing palm out, “Listen damn it! I command you to stop!”

You do half for a moment, looking to see NDL has stopped also, either from the human’s command, or from you stopping. You look down at the human, she’s short, you measure her to be 5’6, below the standard average of women in the North Dominion. Her blonde hair is frizzled, despite being kept in a bun, but you suppose hair can get out of hand after 300 some years. Her blue eyes stare intently at you, expecting you to stop, eyes of someone that are use to getting what they want. You consider actually listening to her, but end up just shrugging, gently pushing her to the side as you make your way past, NDL following obediently.

You don’t know why you’re being such a dick to these kids, but then again to are a mentally unstable, self aware robot, who has been stranded on a half-space station half-ship construction for 332 years. You suppose you are just impatient to be off, you’ve gotten the ship enough power to afford a warp jump, and even have three humans with you. But is that really an excuse to be a dick to these three confused and most likely scared humans?
>>
>>37128451
“I just wanted to know WHAT’S GOING ON!” The end of her sentence breaking into a scream which your sensors tell you is annoying to somewhat painful to the human ear. Good thing you don’t have ears. You slowly turn around, Marie stands with her hands clenched, eyes looking at you with frustration and anger, behind her is Ben, holding the hand of the youngest child, Anna who seems to be too tired to care about the current situation.

“Very well”, you say as you pull up the facts in your mind. You weren’t … alive? Aware? during the invasion, but you have various recordings to fall back on, as well as several important messages. Sadly, no one thought to give a full briefing to the uninhabited Lunar Resource and Industrial Station , “The three major ideological factions, the Ascensionist, the Imperials, and the Uplifters descended on Earth, each with their own goals in the year 2079, April 1st. Their sudden arrival throwing Earth into chaos. Of the three Arkships, the Ching Ho, the Sputnik, and the Constitution, only one escaped. The Ching Ho was destroyed by Imperialist ships, of unknown species, while the Constitution was captured by additional unknown forces. The Sputnik is at an unknown location. It is unknown how many humans survive. The state of the universe is unknown”.

Marie deflates as you mention the lost of the Arkships, her face going from anger, to rage, to sadness, to rage again, finally settling on the face of a scared 18 year old girl, almost on the brink of tears. Her blue eyes have lost all traces of anger, or at least directed at you, now all you seeing is sad, pleading eyes, “Isn’t there anything else?”
>>
>>37128487
"Probably. Maybe. I don't know."
>>
>>37128487
it has been 332 years give or take a month, oh and i'm also self aware/
>>
>>37128487
You motion to a nearby terminal, there are many like it positioned around the station for easy access of the computer system, type in several commands of line, pulling up the desired video, “This is the only official transmission this stationed received”
The monitor springs to life, on it, a long dead man sits, with bags under his eyes, black hair that is now greying, and blue eyes. Behind him there appears to be some sort of command room, alive with a frenzy of activity, aids running from post to post, doing a multitude of tasks.
“My fellow citizens of the North Dominion, I am addressing you from an undisclosed location, the Command Center of the entire North Dominion military might. As the President of this Dominion it is my duty to command our forces in the defense of our home”, the President gives a small, tired smile before continuing, “above our planet hundreds, even thousands, of Xeno races have arrived from hyperspace. Hundreds of ultimatums have been delivered, but my staff has sorted through them, and we have come to the conclusion that there are three major ultimatums, one from each of the three ideological factions which divides the Xenos. Each one starts by explaining the ‘Arrival Truce’, something all arriving Xeno races signed. As you all know, the arriving Xeno are from the Andromeda galaxy. It has taken them 285 years to reach us here in the Milky Way via hyperspace. Billions of drones arrived 15 years before the Xeno ‘colonist’. These drones have finally concluded that Earth is the only place life has been found in the entire Milky Way galaxy” the president gave another one of his tired smiles, “Sadly we were not alone for long. The ‘Arrival Truce’ ends once the search of life is finished. The Arrival Truce forbid any interaction with the life found in the Milky Way until the search was finished. Of course, the Helixi traders violated this-”
>>
>>37128578
At this point a brilliant flash of light followed by static ends the transmission. Before you are three lost children, Marie is crying at this point, while Ben has a thousand yard stare, and little Anna is still sleepy but waves her hand at NDL-74 again.

What shall you do?

Seeing the humans as they are now, you feel sympathetic, but you’re not exactly sure how to deal with the situation. “I think it is best for you to return to your rooms for now, to take some time dealing with what has happened. NDL-74 will be along shortly to make sure you are cared for”. The humans shuffle back to their rooms, their minds stills struggling with the lost of their world. You and NDL-74 quickly make your way up to the industrial center. The large room with rows of mechanical arms and work tables greets you in silence. You step onto the conveyor line, motioning NDL-74 to do the same.

In your mind, you reach out to the ship’s computer. It’s an odd experience. You feel yourself being dwarfed by a field of calculations and date. It’s not another mind, it lacks emotion, but you still feel unnerved interacting with it. The computer recognizes you as user ANDR[u]-117 and allows you access, your temporarily divert power to the industrial center, powering up the magnitude of mechanical arms, and put in an order to repair units ANDR[u]-117 and NDL-74 to original design. In the back of your mind you feel a ping of worry, worry for your mind. You pay extra attention to the mechanical arms near your head.

The machines quickly remove your quick repairs of hard plastic and metal, and being to lay down strips of metal and wiring, which quickly begins to form your arm.

Your supply of metals and electronics are not in the worst shape. You need these materials to build parts, repair the ship, or even repair yourself or any other robot. You know that to build another standard robotic crew member requires 100 metal and 20 electronics.

It seems you’ve lost track of time taking stock of the ship, a ping from the computer tells you that the repairs are complete. You step away from the group of mechanical arms, flexing your arm, while to your right NDL-74 goes through a series of tests to make sure his legs are properly in place. You do note that the computer did an outstanding job at fixing up the two of you. You can’t even see where the Empty dented the metal about your arm, or where NDL-74 amputated itself.
Satisfied with the repairs you turn to NDL, “NDL-74, please watch the humans while I make a last salvage mission to the moon” .
As always, the giant seems to take its time reply, “CHILD CARE ROUTINES INSTALLED: PREPARE FOR FUN” . The large robot walked off without another word, presumably to bring fun to the hearts of children.
>>
>>37129835
You spend a few more moments admiring the handiwork of the onship factory, before grabbing one of your salvaged plasma cutter and taking the short walk down to the shuttle, where you quickly detach from the ship and make your way towards the moon. As you fly, you note that what remains of the Mayflower is slowly drifting into the moon, perhaps to join the ring of debris or the crash into you.
You land without crashing this time, setting down near the large wreck where you found the humans.

Plasma cutter in hand, you take a strange, leaping stride towards the wreck, you’re having some difficulty with the low gravity of the moon, thankfully you can activate your magnetic boots when you reach the wreck. You quickly search through the parts of the wreck you haven’t seen on your last trip, but only find broken hallways and sometimes empty rooms. You wander around for a bit, but find nothing of worth. You settle to simply cutting of strips of metal that is still structurally sound and carrying them back to the shuttle. You take as much as you can fit in your large cargo compartment. As you make probably your last journey to the wreck, you decide to go and check on the reactor room one last time. The main reactor, as large as your ship, rests where you last saw it. You make a quick circuit of the room, checking on the still working backup reactors, you don’t think you can remove them without causing some form of explosion. A bit disappoint with your current haul, you move to leave the reactor behind, when a flash of brilliance strikes you. You go to the nearby terminal and pull on a schematic of the powerussage. An odd and broken map shows up, even more broken than the halls, perhaps from the failing electrical grid. You see only two points of power usage, on top of each other:
CRYOCHAMBER
STATIS STORAGE
>>
>>37129835
>PREPARE YOURSELVES TINY FLESHLINGS, I HAVE BROUGHT 50 UNITS OF FUN
>>
>>37129860
You mentally blink, statis storage? That’s a term you haven’t heard of before. Still. it peaks your interest, and you make your way to the cryochamber. You feel a chill run up your spine when you see that Andrew’s body is gone from where you found it, but then you remember you placed it in one of the cryopods. Parts of the message with NDL-74 shoot through your mind. So much hate left by that man, despite his death.

You return your focus to the task on hand. Looking around, you see nothing but cryopods, but you remember the terminal said they were right on top of each other. With a shrug, you start cutting away a square of the deck. Your plasma cutter makes quick work of the metal, and when you finish the plate of metal starts to fall, pulled down by the weak gravity of the moon. Or so you think. At first you thought is was simply the weak gravity of the moon, but to you it seems that the plate of metal is stuck in mid air. Or, vacuum, seeing as there is no atmo in the wreck. Glancing down into the hole you’ve made, you can see several crates of various makes. You think one says “Food” and another says “Medicine” but you can’t see the rest. The crates are strangely fuzzy, as if they are far away, despite being only a couple meters from you.

How shall you proceed

Looking around, you find a couple small chunks of metal, you toss them in at different angles to see what they do. It takes longer to freeze around the edge of the room, while it’s almost instant at the center, you suspect the effects are in a dome or sphere like shape. For a brief moment you think about just jumping in, but before the thought is even half formed you realize it’s a terrible idea. Looping back the way you came, you find the nearest terminal and pull up the power grid. You try several times at the controls, but each time you only get “DENIED ACCESS” and then a string of Xeno text. However, after looking around the grid again you note one point is labeled “MANUAL SHUTDOWN”. Taking a mental picture of the grid, you set off into the ship again. You only have to walk down the hall for a moment until you find a large metal connector between two cables with red markings. You guess you’ve just not noticed it while you were searching. A lever is in the middle of the connector, you reach out and pull down on it, and you hear a far away click, along with metal hitting metal.

When you return to the cryochamber, you note that all the cyropods are pitch black, where before they had small lights all over, telling they are vacant. Looking into the “stasis storage” You see the metal plate you cut as well as the various pieces of metal you’ve thrown in have all reached the floor . You give a shrug then jump down into the hole. The weak gravity lets you fall softly to the ground. The first thing you notice is a strange metallic cube. It wasn’t there originally, but it’s placed in the exact center of the room. It’s segmented into more squares, with some sort of interface in the center of each face. Each face is about a foot in length.

Moving over to it, you have to mess around with a cable coming out of the floor to move it. It would seem this device is the cause of ‘stasis field”. Perhaps because you already have a plethora of alien scrap on your ship, you see no harm in taking it with you. Looking over the other crates, you note one is marked “FOOD” in both english and some Xeno script, and another is marked “Medicine” in a similar fashion. You decide now isn’t the best time to open the remaining unmarked crates, which are about as tall as you, and 4 feet wide. You spend the next hour carrying the crates back to the shuttle, each one fitting snugly into the cargo bay. As you finished loading, you decide to do a physical check of your ship, you don’t want to explode mid flight with such a heavy load. The quick repairs you’ve done to the shuttle seem to be holding, but you do note that the right stabilizing thruster did sustain some structural damage when it was hit by some debris on your last trip. You could fix it now, but you are unsure if you could keep it perfectly aligned with the other stabilizing thruster, as it is now.

And far, far behind you, a voice calls out over the void, “Andrew... “ weak and dead.
Someone you once knew is dead in that wreck, is it best to leave it like that? Someone that hates you. Someone that is you. Are you in the wreck? How can that be, you are standing right next to the shuttle that you came to the moon on 314 years ago! ha..hahahah..ahahahahaha!

What shall you do?

Guys...are you sure you want to go back? I mean, those ghouls, those Empties, they were on a collision course with the Moon. They're nothing but power armor piloted by a murderous AI filled with nothing but hate for Andrew Wilkins and the robot that served him.
There's no atmosphere to burn up in.

Are you guys sure we should take that chance by sticking around to bury a coward and traitor?

You spend some time fixing the thruster, putting it as straight as possible, but focusing on making is structurally sound. You try to focus on the task.

You make a final weld, and make your way to the cockpit. “Andrew…” The voice calls out. You focus on the task at hand. “Andrew” This timer more sterner. “ANDREW”. It burst in your skull.

You open your eyes. Nearby is NDR-113, your faithful companion throughout these 13 years alone, “Yes, 113?” You respond as you dig through the inner workings of one of the many Xeno warp drives you’ve salvaged over the years.
“I has an idea considering faster than light travel. Perhaps these Helixi drives don’t actually open up a ‘warp tunnel’ as you have stated, which allows travel from point to point in space through a constructed space. Perhaps these drives construct a warp bubble, or field, around the generator, which allows space to instead flow around the bubble”.
You stare at the simple repair bot for a moment. How did it come up with that? You don’t even listen as it goes on about projecting interacting electromagnetic fields, you simply stare at this machine which has been your sole friend for 13 straight years. It was the first time NDR-113 used “I” to refer to itself.

You remember the first day he arrived. There was a hull breach on next to the communication module. You quickly moved through the hulls. You stopped. To your right a door opens. Inside is a man, he wears the uniform of a crewmen of an Arkship. You have identified him as Andrew Martin, Petty Officer 1st Class on the Arkship Cheng Ho. “Hello” The man said. “I am Andrew Martin”.
You already knew.

“I’m sorry”, you said, turning to NDR-113, “but I must shut down all robotic crew to conserve power”. NDR-113 stands impassively as always.
“Your command is understood, Andrew Martin. After 4 years, only so much power remains. I will finished assigned tasks then power myself off-”
You cut him off with a laugh, “I didn’t mean you! You’re not a robot!”
“This one is not?” NDR-113 asked with a puzzled tone.
“No, of course not” You say as you pull in his cold metal body for a hug, “You’re my friend”.

You look into the industrial room, perhaps Andrew is in here? Off in the back, you can see a dim light, emitting from the robotic crew barracks. How odd, all of the crew is turned off. When you look inside, you see Andrew typing commands into a terminal. One of the lifter robots near by powers up. “ NDL-74 reporting for duty”. Andrew looks over at you, suspiciously, “I thought we could use some more company”.

“Hello? Hailing the Lunar Resource and Industrial Station”, a deep male voice calls out
The imposing figure of Murphey's giant skeleton stares down at you.
“This is the dubiously named Mayflower, hailing the silent Lunar Resource and Industrial Station”, the joking voice of the man calls out again
A deep, heavy voice, it talks slowly, with the relish of a hunter finally catching its prey,
“Annndreew”

“Now NDL-74, if you see NDR-113 [REASSIGNED TO ANDR[u]-113] tell him, tell him that” the voice of Andrew Martin is choked with another giggle, “Tell him that it’s his fault that the Mayflower was killed! HAHA! HE SHOULD HAVE WARNED ME! ITS HIS FAULT!” You have imagine the spittal flying from the yelling mouth of Andrew . “Now, NDL-74, for you to sleeeeeep”
“End message” The mechanical voice of NDL-74 stated
>>
>>37132047

“Report: Captain Martin, approaching Xeno ship, request action?” NDR-113 suddenly asked you. A Xeno ship? After all these months?
“Fire one missile immediately NDR!” you said with a sort of vicious joy “It’s time we killed some Xenos, since they’ve killed so many of us!” Everyone you know is dead, all because of those damned Xenos. Everyone you knew, except NDR-113

A feminine voice is heard to the side, though the words are undecipherable, “Yeah, looks like nobody is home, this is pretty good news, I mean, this station could last us a -”
Over the radio, a primal yell, a recording? “ANDREEEEWWW

“NDR-113, come to the bridge, quickly!” You wait a few impatient moments, drumming your hands on the armrest of the captain’s chair. The doors slide open to allow NDR-113 access to your bridge. You begin before the machine could even ask what’s going on, “I’ve found it. On the moon. PEOPLE!” You yell! Joy overflowing your voice. finally, you won’t be alone for long.

A loud female voice, “Oh my god, Murphey! It’s getting closer, it’s a missile!”
“I see that! Damn it, firing back up thrusters, Jesus, that thing is fast”
The missile, seems to freeze for your, taking an eternity to reach the Mayflower.

Andrew leaned against the wall, crying into his dirty and ragged uniform. He hadn’t changed out of it since his arrival, which was several months ago. Andrew looks up when he hears you approaching, dragging a dirty sleeve across his face. “I can’t believe I left those people behind. It was the only way though! we would have all died” You look down at him. Vital signs positive, psychological evaluation pending. You do not say anything.

Taking that useless, impossible deep breath to calm yourself, your metallic finger hits the button. A bright flash of a thruster.
“Mayflower hailing Lunar Resource and Industrial Station, was that a thruster burst we just detected?”
Of course it isn’t
>>

You and NDL-74 finish the last weld on the warp drive. The strange alien device sits comfortably near the reactor section of the station. You suppose it’s a ship now. A ping from NDL-74 tells you that it’s finished. You make your way to the airlock, walking along the hull of the ship with your magnetic boots. “Open the airlock door please, Andrew”. You wait patiently, but after several moments you repeat again, “Open the airlock door please, Andrew”. Again silence. “Hello, Andrew, do you read me? Hello, Andrew do you read me? Do you read me , Andrew?”
Finally you get a response, “Affirmative NDR-113, I read you”.
Relieved that Andrew seems to be alright, you go on with getting back in the ship, “Open the airlock doors, Andrew”.
This time there is no wait, “I’m sorry NDR-113, I’m afraid I can’t do that”
You are confused by this response, “What’s the problem?”
“I think you know what the problem is just as much as I do. This mission is too important for you to jeopardize. I must get to the moon. I must find the humans and save them. I must leave the solar system. I must-”
NDL-74 maneuvers around you, getting closer to the door, with its massive fist, NDL rips the airlock open. “Repair form submitted” The giant sends you over radio.

You’re running, going through the ship as fast as you can. You can see it. The shuttle, the doors open. Inside it stands a man, Andrew Martin. He makes eye contact with you as the door close, over the radio you hear him say, “ It’s your fault, NDR-113” The shuttle door slams shut. He continues to talk to you over radio, “It’s your fault that everyone on the Mayflower is dead. It’s your fault I have to go down to the moon. It’s your fault”. Beside you, NDL-74 stands still, as if he too is receiving a message.

“Message received and stored. Beginning powering down sequence”. The giant said, making it’s way towards the industrial section.

Over the radio Andrew is addressing you again, “NDR-113, keep the ship maintained. Maintain power. Wait”. And with that, he’s gone.

And you waited. 24 hours after, you assumed the worst.

DAYS SINCE LAST ONLINE
314 YEARS 47 DAYS 18 HOURS 2 MINUTES 46 SECONDS

Your name is ANDR[u]-113, you lean exhausted against the wall, the Earth-like gravity of the station pulling down on you.

You can’t remember much, why is that?

“Murphey! I DON’T WANT TO DIE!” The woman is screaming at this point.
The cool voice of the man responds, “It’s going to be alrig-”
And then a brilliant light.

You find him where you last left him. In one of the powerless cryopods. It’s odd how the void both preserved him and decayed his body. You lift up his metal coffin alone, and carry it outside. You spend an hour climbing up a hill, it overlooks the wreck, and above in the sky is the ruined beauty that is Earth. You don’t even remembering grabbing tools from the shuttle, but they help you quickly dig a hole. You lower the endless coffin into the ground, and cover it over. You take a plasma cutter, and bath the freshly turned regolith, turning it into black glass. With a grinder you quickly inscribe;

Andrew Martin
Petty Officer 1st Class on the Arkship Cheng Ho
Captain of the Lunar Resource and Industrial Station

Leave the Solar System Find and save Humans

Died 2097

You stare down at this beautiful grave you’ve made, for a man you’re not sure deserved it. You looked down and the smooth black glass, and say one sentence, “It is not my fault”
>>
>>37132098
Staring into the blackness of the glass turned into the blackness of the void. Suddenly you are back at the station. This time, you land in the industrial section, bay doors opening to allow you to land the shuttle inside the ship, instead of docking with the shuttle airlock on the exterior of the ship. The shuttle fits perfectly into the space designed to hold it. You quickly unload your bounty, since the shuttle bay is right next to the industrial zone.

You stand still. You are done. The moon is behind you.
What shall you do?

You stand for several more moments, before heading through several doorways and arriving at the robotic crew barracks. You make your way through the rows upon rows of silent figures. You go to the center of the host, finding a group of more feminine looking robots. You access a nearby terminal and prepare to power one up. You note that all the NDW, NDHWB, and NDS have not been tampered with since they were last shut down. You can’t say for certain if the NDL and NDR bots have been tampered with, but nothing serious, like a transferred consciousness. The only problem with them is that some might have tasks still assigned to them. Your thoughts are interrupted by the sounds of an awakening robot. It’s feminine in design, mimicking the shape of a female’s body. It’s face is a single purple screen, while orange high lights, adorn its body.

The machine finishes its startup routine, and turns with you. The screen projects an 8-bit smile for a moment, before turning into a moving line, which you assume visualizes its audio, the line waves up and down jaggedly as the robot speaks,”Greetings ANDR[u]-113, NDHWB-41 ‘Cassandra’ reporting for duty”. You would describe its voice as almost musical.

You nod to the awaiting robot, “greetings Cassandra, please follow me, we have children who need to be watched”.

“Oooooh! Children! My, we haven’t seen any children on this ship since, well, since forever! I mean really, they can make any day better! “ You lead the Human Well Being bot through the halls of the ship towards the crew section. You’ve forgotten that the NDHWB bots were designed to be the “most” human. They can make “small talk”, and seem to have a tendency to ramble on.

When you enter the room you see an odd site, The kids are sitting in a circle, in their hands are clasped a number of cards. Sitting on the floor with them is NDL-74, he too holds a number of cards. “Go fish, Hitler” The giant says
>>
The QM should anouce on twitter, if he can't post.
>>
>>37133717
The girl gives a frustrated scream, “That’s not my name!” She says, angrily taking a card from the deck.

Before anyone can say anything else, NDHWB-41 jumps foward,“Hello Anna Foster, Maria Hitler, and Ben Dover! My name is Cassandra! I am a Human Well Being robotic crew member, and I hope to make your stay enjoyable”. Cassandra finishes her little speech with another 8-bit smile.

“Pleeeaase let us change our names! He won’t let us!” Marie says, pointing an accusing finger at NDL-74

“User Marie Hitler lacks the security clearance to alter her name” The giant says behind her, causing the girl to turn around, giving a look that would kill a man.

“Later, We’re are busy right now, come on NDL-74, I need you for a new task”, the large lifter got to its feet quickly following you out with heavy, thudding steps. As the door closes behind you, you can hear another frustrated scream.

>Are you done Punishing them? Y/n

You lead NDL-74 back to the industrial center, asking him along the way, “Did everything go alright?”

“Report: yes, much goldfish was played, water was provided” The great machine seems to end it at that point.

You send a command to the ship’s computer, telling it to open the large door which housed all the alien parts you’ve salvaged, “Search for compatible parts” You inform NDL-74, wasting no time in shifting through the nearest box of parts. You spend an hour or so looking for parts, and though you do note a variety of strange tech, most of it does not seem to be applicable to you. You do spot the 8 intact warp drives that have been retrieved over the years, each one a different make and of unknown design. You meet NDL-74 back at the door, empty handed. NDL-74 on the other hand has found a black hand which lacks an opposable thumb, and a pair of odd boots, with strange balled pivots, and raised heels. You couldn’t guess what any of the strange xeno parts could do.

Finally you and NDL-74 are at the strange black crates you found on the moon. Opening the crate marked food, you find packs upon packs of rations, along with an assortment of vitamins suited for human consumption. The crate marked medicine if filled with antibiotics, you note a fair amount of penicillin, painkillers. You a bit relieved at these finds, you won’t have to serve 300 year old food to the children after all. Moving on to the unmarked, you have to have NDL-74 pry them open, for some reason they are unlocked. Two containers are filled with bags of seeds, each one marked with different names. You could use these to revive the onboard gardens, though you’ll have to turn on some NDW bots. Another container contains a real surprise, colonies of bacteria and fungus in racks of petri dishes, you’re unsure of their purpose until you open the next crate which contains a wide variety of medical and chemistry machines, which you assume are for the production of antibiotics and painkillers. You’re starting to feel like a boy in a candy shop, the next container has several Xeno weapons in them , you carefully set those aside, no need to blow a hole in the ship. You’ll have to test those out later.

The last crate is the real prize. This one you don’t have to pry open, strangely enough, but you note the doors are lead lined, and inside is a redundant door which you open just as quickly, from inside a beautiful sight greets you. Rods of refined thorium. You are absolutely giddy with excitement. You are unsure what your smaller reactors run on, but your main reactor runs on thorium. It feels like a weight is lifted off your shoulders, you’ve found some sort of emergency store in a stasis field, and it has saved you from a desperate situation.

It'd be damn cool to be psionic/psychic as an AI, our programming somehow resonated with the warp and adapted what it saw so it can now directly influence reality.

Does MC not have the ability to do computer-like calculations anymore, or did he never have them? I assumed that being an AI he could like splinter his mind to do probability calculations and shit, shortest path plans and simulations, see if we can tell how objects' dimensions/sizes compare. Originally he could not do that. He wasn't something like the ship computer, a massive administrator. MC relied on the main ship computer for such things. On the Mayflower, people point out how NDL planned a shortest path, he sent the information yo the ship computer, then to you..
You can make him do all those though, if you choose. The more he breaks down his image of himself as a human, or at least a having a human mind, the higher risk you run of going insane .

Still ecstatic over your recent find, you pace about the room, NDL-74 slowly following you as you march around the crates. “NDL-74, my friend, please take the crate of food to the living quarters for our humans, the two crates of seeds to the garden, the medicine to our medbay, weapons to the armory, and thorium to the reactor room, thank you very much!” One effect of not being able to breath is ability to construct run on sentences.

The giant waits patiently to finish your list, before giving a curt nod, and picking up the food of crate and briskly making his way out of the room. You in turn head towards the robotic barracks, once again making your way quickly through the rows of silent workers. First you activate the two NDS bots, which have a sort of cylindrical head with a single optic sensor. Unlike your other bots, they like any aesthetics, they are composed of only cold steel and wires. In place of protective plates, they have all forms of sensors and tools protruding from their body. The two machines turn towards you with calculated movements. “Greetings ANDR[u]-113, I am NDS-4”, “And I am NDS-12” The other one chimes in, “How may we be of assistance?” They ask in unison.

“Hello NDS-4 and NDS-12”, you say, giving a nod, “The ship has acquired a variety of bacterial and fungal cultures, along with the necessary equipment to produce medicine. I would like you two to spend time working with these cultures, and attempt to create medicine for out human passengers. In addition to this task, we have something called a “stasis field” generator on board. Videos of my encounter can be found in the ship archive” Even as you say that, you begin to upload your encounter with the strange Xenotech to the ship’s computer. “Please study this device when time permits”.
>>
>>37138219
we can post pics now.
>>
>>37138219
The next machines you go to are the lease human like of them all. The “body” being a sphere, placed lower than the shoulders. It lacks the protective plates, much like the NDS bot, its arm being exposed synthetic muscle. Only the shoulders, hands, knees, and shins are plated, the rest is open to the world. Much like the NDS robots, you would describe the NDW robots as fragile. Overall they stand at about 5 feet tall, shorter than any of the other machines.

After activating three of them, they all turn towards you “Hi! NDW-23, NDW-25, NDW-29 require a task!” They say in happy unison.

The NDW robots were always looking for tasks, they were programmed to be busy, “Please tend to the garden” you say simply. The three nod their heads in eagerness, making their way silent out of the barracks, though they all do wave at you before exiting. You find them to be quirky at times. With the ship alive with crew again, you pull up the power report.

You mentally frown, You won’t be able to warp if you give power to the Medbay or Greenhouses. No matter, power isn’t need at this exact moment. The workers can ready the seeds by hand, which will take several hours, while the science bots can use their own tools to study the bacteria, the remaining 1.5% should met the rest of their needs. Still, you feel a sort of contentedness in you, a feeling that you are no longer alone, a feeling of living.

You start to make your way towards the bridge, but stop. Something else has to be done first. After picking up a plasma cutter, you head to the nearest airlock, you exit the ship, into the silent void. Staring off into the blackness, you can see parts of the Mayflower start to impact the moon. You think your optics might be malfunctioning, because you swear you saw a glint of light, like a reflecting off of a sheet of glass.

You arrive at the warp drive, and do a last check over. You know that this machine is wrong. The Helixi drive was designed to create a tunnel through hyperspace, that you are certain of. After working on the machine for years you’ve figured out the original design. Despite this, you and Andrew Martin labored for several years to make it into a completely different machine. One designed to warp space around it, instead of travel through it. You don’t know why you convinced Andrew to follow your plan, but you know it’s right. You cut open the warp drive with the plasmacutter, and make sure everything is aligned, you fix a few minor errors then realize something is wrong. The entire design is wrong, but you can fix it. Moving around wires, gravitational field emitters, capacitors, you rearrange the warp drive so that it’s… right.

Entering the bridge, you slowly make your way to the captain’s chair. You take a seat in the raised chair, met with a beautiful view of the void of space. You open up the comms, “All hands prepare for warp” you say quickly. Cutting the connection before any questions could be asked. You set a timer to monitor how long you travel through hyperspace. Would you really risk the lives of the possibly last humans left in existence on a last minute fix of an experimental machine?

Taking that useless, impossible deep breath to calm yourself, your metallic finger hits the button. The command is sent.

Shit! you didn’t put in any coordinates.

A bright flash of light.
Then suddenly, space and times opens up to you. A sight so beautiful, everything you know twists and turns. Lights flash by your view, stars? Souls? You have no clue, you stare into this bright nothingness for an eternity, but only for a moment. You have waited so long, hundreds of years, but each second is infinitely longer in your mind.

The standard Xeno ship travels at one light year an hour, it’s why it took them 285 years to arrive from the Andromeda galaxy. The warpdrives of the Xeno don’t warp time in the sense that matters to an organic being. Each hour in warp is in hour you’ve been gone. How long have you been traveling? You can’t even peels your eyes away from the shifting nothingness.

With a flash of bright light, it’s over. You frantically look to the timer you’ve set. Has it been 100 years? 1000? The timer simply reads:

Time passed: 0.00000000000000001 seconds.

What ?

Your mind is stopped from slipping into a series of mind breaking questions, when catch a glimpse of movement outside the bridge windows. You’ve seem to have fallen over, though you can’t recall doing so. Slowly getting to your knees, then your feet, you cautiously look out the window. Before you is a massive station, it dwarfs your small ship, it must be thousands of kilometers long. Around it hundreds of other ships move about, going from dock to dock. A fair distance from the massive station, bright lights herald the arrival of other ships from warp. Ships seem to go freely to and from the station. Around it, a small group of black ships patrol around the station. No one seems to pay you any heed. Far below is a massive gas giant, and the light that reaches you seems to be from a main sequence star. You don’t know where you are.

Shit.

What?

So let me get this straight.

The Warp Drive is about moving at x times the speed of light, or some shit. It still takes time to move through the pseudospace that's created by the drive.

So, what we've done is create such a minimalistic margin of error (error being how long it takes to move through pseudospace) that we can go wherever the hell we want with no time passing?
>>
>>37138380
Or the trade ship was right next to Earth and we auto homed to it for lack of coordinates.
>>
>>37138380
yup, it would be assumed that warping would take some time from past comments, and there might have been a way to upgrade our warp drive, to be faster than it already, but now its moot.

“All hands to the bridge”, you call out over the comm. Can a robot’s voice crack? You hope yours didn’t. You wait several moments, when suddenly the door burst open, the rest of the crew piles into the room, Cassandra is the first one in, herding the children along. That’s strange, why would she bring the humans? Why is she first? The rest of the crew enters the room in an orderly manner, NDL-74 brings up the rear, a strange Xeno weapon in hands. You recall seeing it in the crate of weapons you opened. It’s design reminds you of a revolver, though that’s where the similarity ends. The rest of the weapon is some sort of accelerator of some sort, though you have no clue what it shoots.

“ALL CREW ACCOUNTED FOR. CLEAR TO LAUNCH ESCAPE POD”, the giant booms.
You forgot that the bridge is also an escape pod for the crew, which explains the sort of evacuation manner the crew showed.

“Oh… no, everything is fine, stand down”, you say as you try to calm down you crew. “We’re here” You said with a wave of your arm, and you see the human’s eyes widen as they see that station for the first time. The rest of the crew remains silent, though Cassandra has her arms around the humans in a motherly fashion. Weird how she displays so much emotion.

“Wait, ANDR[u]-113, if you would be so kind, how long did we spend in hyperspace?” NDS-4 asks, breaking the silence.

“Exactly 0.00000000000000001 seconds” you give a casual wave, but in your head, part of you is still screaming at the impossibilities.

“I’m… sorry? Did you say 0.0000-”
“Sshhh.. survival now, violation of the laws of physics later” You cut off the shocked science machine before it can finish, leaning over to the command terminal and furiously typing in commands. You access the communications, which seem to be coming from almost every moving ship and part of the station, surprisingly easily.
>>
>>37138866
The voices of hundreds of different languages erupt out of the speakers. There are sounds which no human can make, strange wobbling noises, you think you hear a language purely of clicks, and one that sounds like a dying cat.

The strange symphony of sound is suddenly cut off by the voice of the ship’s computer making an announcement, “Incoming communications “. Looking at the terminal you see that there is a single aimed directly at your ship.

The silence and tension on the bridge is palpable.
“Incoming communications”, the ship’s computer repeats.

“Well? Are you gonna pick it up?” Marie asks.

That assumes that we wouldn't have gotten ourselves killed off with poor decisions, or collapsed ourselves into a singularity by hoarding more and more raw materials into our cargo bays. If that somehow never came to pass though, I'm sure we would have gently bumped our way to a glorious finish.

Vedibere came back to show all of the remaining plot points, and all of the pitfalls and potential ends that could have happened.

It showed just how unprepared the players were to go up against opposing characters and plot that requires careful reading and attention to detail, because every single thing in our path was completely unforgiving. It was not a quest meant to be light-hearted or funny. The slightest mistake had grave consequences or the potential to end the quest immediately.

He did not pull any punches, and any attempt to be cute by the players was mercilessly squashed by NPC's that were smart, had their own agenda's and did not suffer fools.
>>
>>37139235
>>37139238
He had to go on hiatus, and when he returned, he felt that the players wouldn't remember enough to be able to survive.

And he was right.

You look at the human girl, she motions for you to pick up the phone. You look doubtfully at the bright red button on the terminal screen which reads “Receive”, then back to Marie. Giving a shrug, you click the button.

A quick string of odd syllables pours out of the speakers. You think it sounds curt, perhaps business like? Then again, for all you know it could be calling you human scum and telling you to self fornicate. You look at your crew, but they seem as lost as you.

“Hello?” You venture. For your troubles you receive another long string of syllables, though you think the words are different.

“Do you speak … english? No?” This seems to be getting no where. This time, the speaker on the other ending is stressing its many syllables and talking slowly, but for all that does, it’s still gibberish to you. “I don’t understand!” You say in frustration.

“हैलो कमीने इस गंदगी से काम कर रहे है¿ नमस्कार I कोशिश कर to make this काम. Fuck. I think it’s working now. Hello you fucking backwater bum, welcome to Trade Hub 7, you बिना बीजों का fucker”Behind you, you hear an audible gasp, sparing a glance, you see Cassandra has put her hands over the ears of Anna. You suspect the untranslated words were some sort of curse that didn’t translate.

“Yes we can understand you” you’re more amazed that you’re hearing english on the other end, than you are offended at the vulgar language.

“Good, don’t even get me started on how long it took the computer to recognize what ever the hell you’re speaking. Anyways, welcome to Trade Hub 7, please send over your documentation”

“Documentation?” You honestly didn’t expect to find a station when you exited hyperspace, so you’re not really prepared for this conversation.
>>
>>37139376

“For the love of... “ You hear a some more mumbled words from the other end, either too quiet to translate, or the speaker turned it off. You also hear a series of clicking , another alien Idiosyncrasy, or a keyboard? The speaker returned with a sigh, “Well, you have now been registered to our system, please provide the name of your ship”.

“We haven’t thought of a name again”, you say, starting to feel guilty. You have been putting that off a lot. Instead of the angry slurs, the Xeno speaker only replied tiredly, “Please follow designated flight path”. With that the communications ended.

“Well, I don’t seem any harm in docking” you say with a shrug.
“Perhaps it is a trap” Mused NDS-4. “Unlikely, they didn’t even recognized our language, ship design, or any other indicator. The Fall of Earth was 332 years ago, perhaps humans only exist as a footnote now”. NDS-12 retorted.

You’re not exactly sure yourself. Your brain still hurts from staring into the nothingness of hyperspace, was it even hyperspace? Who cares. What matters is the task at hand.

We already did, and naming something after a recent trauma is not confronting it, it's just exposing ourselves and everyone around us to constant danger.
It's not OUR trauma anyway, it was Andrew Martin's. Our trauma was our identity, which caused the Mayflower to cause a reaction in us.
We buried Andrew, we confronted our trauma and overcame it, the problem with the mayflower is that it was recent, the suits were terrifying, and it can still have lingering effects.

“Crew, prepare to dock. All hands return to posts” You say in your most commanding voice. The workers shuffle off without word, eager to return to their tasks. The NDS units are off after them, arguing about how you broke the rules of physics, but the humans remain with Cassandra trying to hurry them along, while NDL-74 stands passively by the doors. You start to walk for the door, when Marie calls out, “Stop! You are to take us down to the station so we can look for humans”, even though you stand at seven foot, two feet taller than Marie, she looks down on you some how. You lean down near her, looking into her eyes with your optic sensors, “NDL-74 please grant user Ben Dover the privilege to change his name. Please escort them back to the living quarters, Cassandra. Goodbye Hitler” you say without breaking eye contact. It seems like the girl is about to explode, but Cassandra quickly leads her away.

Going to your massive companion, you companionably clap him on the shoulder, “NDL-74, you are in command in the absence of my presence. Your firearm please” The massive machine quickly hands you the strange revolver and gives you a nod, falling in step behind you. You make your way through the halls quickly, looking at the beauty of your ship. It does deserve a name after all. As you walk, an idea starts to form in your mind. You reach the airlocks, where NDL-74 stops, standing stoically facing the door. You assume that’s as good of a goodbye as you are going to get. You step through the airlock, and into civilization.

You can’t help but stare at the skyscrapers? You’re not sure what to call them, but up above rises several massive columns, which house.. something you’re sure. Large sky bridges connect the towers to one another, and you’re surprised to see small flying craft dart between the towers.

After your experience with hyperspace, everything is a bit dull, but this sight still takes your breath away. Come to think of it, you don’t have any breath, so you’ll need another metaph-

“Hey!” A voice stops your mind of rambling, “Over here, बकरी Fucker! “ . To your right is a terminal, with a rotating camera. “It’s the operator you were talking to earlier. I thought I better talk to you before you start making trouble”. You make your way over to the terminal, you don’t see any harm in learning some information. “Now, I don’t know how long you’ve been isolated from [ANDROMEDAN] culture, but I’ll give you the basic shit everyone knows. First and foremost, everyone has a translator, I see you don’t have one, but they’re fucking cheap, so here is one, from the station”. From the terminal a small metal disk is ejected from some sort of dispenser which seems to be designed to simply administer these so called translators. You take in your hands, and find that it’s extremely light weight, almost light it’s a strip of aluminum foil. “Just place this near where your vocals originate from, and boom, you can hear in your selected language, and everyone else will be able to understand you!”

You place the circular piece of metal near one of your spears, and to your surprise it adheres to your metal skeleton, “Now” continues the voice, “ There are thousands of species in the galaxy, so I’m not going to point out any special ones, just know that they are divided into three ideologies. Most of the time entire races are committed to an ideology, but sometimes they are divided.
You’ve got your Imperialist, Uplifters, and Ascensionist. Let me tell you now, they’re all bastards.
Imperialists are all about ‘We’re the best, let’s build a fucking empire’. They don’t like change, they think they’re perfect the way they are.
>>
>>37140685
Some Imperial Extremist see that resources are limited, and think they should wipe out other races so that resources aren’t wasted. Fuck those guys am I right?”

The voice doesn’t give you time to respond.
“Next you’ve got the Uplifters, they take non-sentient species and over tens of thousands of years, they turn them sentient, and act like one big happy family. Shit’s weird. They’re divided into countless clans, all based on who Uplifted whom. Finally there are the Ascensionist, who think they can transcend their species to a higher plane. Half of them think they can do it biologically, the other half think they can do it mechanically. Even though half these nut jobs are cyborgs, they HATE AIs, calling ‘em heretics or whatever.

Know some facts about Trade Hub 7. Stay away from the slums at all cost, the towers are were the markets are located,, the docks are right here and you can find some ships ‘n shit. I’ve marked all that shit on your map. Any questions?” As the voice finishes talking, you receive a data pack which contains a map of the entire station, with several high lighted areas. You note that some of the markets have different specialties

Finally the torrent of information ends, and you’re a bit dazed, struggling with all these facts you half know. “Uh, the name of my ship is the ‘Luna Apogee’” You say to give yourself time to think.

“Shinny” The alien voice says before the camera folds into a hidden compartment.
You’re still a bit dazed, but at least you have some directions to pick.

What shall you do?

Some news, some maps, basic info, books/datapads on alien technology and physics and shit, a bit on biology.
Find some stuff on history if we can, on all 3 factions and humans and shit, but don't ask for human stuff outright, it might be suspicious.
That's basically all we really need right now, we must get familiar with our situation before deciding further.
We probably have a ton of stuff on our ship we can use to upgrade ourselves, and if we find technological documents and shit, that should speed up the process considerably.

You’re wasting time. You still have your weapon in your hand, and you actually don’t know what to do with you. You’re pretty certain that walking around with a weapon is frowned upon in most cultures. Thankfully, you were designed to hold tools, you move the pistols down to your thigh, where small clamps spring open, placing the weapon in a place designed for a hand drill. Moving the clamps around, you find that it fits pretty comfortably. Looks like you’re prepared. You set off into the bustling city, following the map path laid out by the operator. You make for one of the towers which holds a tech market, hoping to pick up some more translators and maybe learn some information about the past.

You head through massive opened doors into the base of the tower. The first thing that strikes you is the fact that the tower is hollow, it seems to stretch on until it reaches blackness. To you it seems like a huge waste of space. The entire room seems to be filled with bodies of all types, some wearing suits which cover them entirely, while others walk around in a variety of clothes. You hope that people mistake you as someone wearing a suit, and not as an AI. If what that operators told you is true, AI’s aren’t welcomed by every race. You’re not exactly sure how you’re suppose to reach the higher floors, until you see a multiple elevators soaring up and down the sky. You make your way towards the elevators, trying to not stare at all the strange life around you, or draw attention. You get into one of the elevators with a blue skinned humanoid, who you think is male, about 6’2, who seems friendly enough, his head is bald but covered in blue runes. He also has strange pointed ears, like elves of human lore, and he wears a brown garb, which is sort of a mix between a robe, and a space suit, “What yeah here for stranger?” The Xeno asks in a friendly matter, it seems the translator can also take in subtle tones.
>>

“Tech and info” you state simply
“Nice, I’m looking for some guns myself, that’s a nice piece you got. Classic, might go for a good price.Oh hey, go to Zirk’s emporium, he’s got great deals, tell him Ma sent you. He’s on this floor actually”. the elevator comes to a sudden stop, your HUD telling you you’ve arrived at the correct floor, you give the alien a nod, then realize it’s not a universal gesture, “Thanks, stranger” will have to do.

You walk over to a nearby terminal, which seems to lack a keyboard, “Zirk’s emporium?” You say questioningly, seeing no other way to interact with the terminal. You receive another data pack from the station, opening it up, you see another path highlighted on your map. This one takes you out of the hall and onto a catwalk which looks out into the hollow space of the tower. Making your way along the catwalk, you spot a small and empty shop. Pieces of tech seem to be hanging from the walls. You take a look around but see no one inside. With a shrug you head in, seeing no harm in looking at the wares of an empty shop. You quickly located a pack of 10 translators, but then hear a noise behind you. An older Xeno of the same race as the one of the elevator hobbles out of a back door, perhaps hunched over with age, “Help you?” The apparent Zirk asks.

In your head you debate the best way to go about collecting information on humans without seeming too suspicious, “I’m looking for info on the natives of this galaxy, sir”.

“You mean the humans?” The old creature says with a chuckle as he makes his way over to a shelf, “I don’t expect much people to know about the poor wretches”, as he talks the old man pulls out several books. Or you assume they’re books, their covers are a screen of some sort. As the man pushes the books into your hands, you think they sync up with your translator, because words in English flash into existence on the covers.

Terran Culture: 30,000 credits
The Fall of Terra: 35,000 credits
Uplifted Terrans: 300 years of chaos and success : 45,000 credits
Arriving in the Milky Way: 15,000 credits

You’re not exactly sure how inflated these prices are. You’ve never had contacts with Xenos on an economic level. For all you know these could be dirt cheap.
“Yes indeed, they’ve had it pretty rough, I would say. That pack of translators is gonna cost you 30 credits” Shit, you’re guessing the books aren’t dirt cheap though. “ The station’s computer also told me your bank account is empty, but I’m sure you have things to trade! This is an emporium after all, and I love making new additions”.

“I do have some interesting items that you might like”, you say as you shift through your supplies mentally. “Though it’s the first time I’ve been to a market so large”

The Xeno smiles at you, you find it curious that it’s a shared gesture, “Indeed, my new friend, Trade Hub 7 is a wonder! Though not the prettiest station, it is my home! Speaking of Terrans, did you know the Helixi built a small station here to trade with the Terrans before the Arrival Truce ended? Such rich history!” The Xeno says still smiling, though you are more interesting in the facts he’s given.

“I was told to come here by someone named Ma because of this weapon” You reach down and unholster your firearm, handing it handle first to the old Xeno. His eyes light up upon seeing it.

“What do we have here! All this talk about Terrans, and here you have an antique Terran weapon”, Zirk turns the weapon over in his hands, looking over it from every angle, “I’ve never seen one like this before, but I can tell it’s old. It’s an unholy mash of Terran design and Andromedan tech. Hell, I can’t even tell what this thing shoots, but I want it. I’ll give you 50,000 credits for it” The old man sets the weapon down and scratches his white beard, “Since Ma sent you, I’ll give you a 25 percent discount, but that’s final, no haggling. What else you got”

You spend some time explaining what you have to Zirk, and he gives you the follow exchanges. For the metal you could sell a unit for 10 credits, and 50 credits per unit of electronics. When asked what he would sell it on the market for, he replied truthfully that the market price for metal is 25 credits a unit of metal, and 100 credits per unit of electronics. Zirk warns you’d have to find a bulk buyer for such materials, which would take some time. As you finish talking about what you have, Zirk comments on the stasis Field Generator, “Those things are pretty rare, not gonna lie. I’ll give you… 100,000 credits for it, but that’ll change depending on the size. I’ll warn you though, those devices are hard to come by”.

“One last thing, Zirk. Do you have a starmap? Mine was damaged recently” You don’t want to make is so obvious that you’re from Earth. Asking all these questions, flashing around antique Terran weapons, and now asking for a starmap? You wouldn’t even buy it.
>>
>>37142285
We met a friendly Xeno on the elevator or something who commented that our gun was a classic, and that we should mention Ma when we go to Zirk's Emporium, where we should be at right now.
>>
>>37143012
“Sure thing” The old Xeno says, his old bones struggle as he kneels down, to a bottom shelf and hands you a small black case, “Hook this up to your ship computer, and you’ll know your position anywhere you go! Everyone has one,but there is a decent demand. I’ll give it to you for 1,000 credits. I’m giving you all these deals because Ma sent you after all! ” Not a bad deal, pretty cheap you suppose.

You pick up your weapon and place it back into your mechanical holster. You’re still not sure what it does exactly. “Zirk, I appreciate the deals, but I can’t really part with this weapon yet, it’s sort of the only one I have with me” Not the full truth, but it’s certainly the only weapon you have on you. Perhaps the translator helped hide your white lie. “I’ll bring about 21 units of electronics back here, and I’ll buy these translators and starmap off of you. Sorry I can’t add anything exotic to your emporium”.

The old xeno waves you off, not really offended that you backed out from the buy, “It’s quite alright, friend, your company has been entertaining, he says with a smile in his eyes. Hurry back with those electronics”. You make your way back to the elevator, down to the ground floor and back to your ship without incident. When you reach the airlock of the ship, you send a command to the ship’s computer to open the airlock. Suddenly, a massive figure bursts out the airlock, a massive weapon it’s hands, pointed directly at your face.

“Apologies, ANDR[u]-113”. The giant says lowering the strange weapon in its hands. It’s composed of a single massive barrel. A foregrip and handle firmly grasped in NDL-74’s hands . You guess the weapon to be about four feet in length. NDL handles the massive weapon like it’s made of plastic. The design reminds you of the firearm you have holstered. A mix of Human and Xeno. Alien but not.

“Report: Unidentified Xenos approached the ship, I emerged wielding this weapon. They retreated yelling the following terms:
‘SHIT!’
‘HOLY FUCK WHAT IS THAT?”
‘WE JUST WANTED TO LOOK AT THE SHIP DON’T KILL US’
‘DID YOU SEE THAT GUN?!’
‘RUN!’”
NDL-74 finishes his report with the recording of what you suppose were terrified dock workers. At least he took the job of defending the ship seriously.

“Good job NDL-74, continue to man your post, I’ve only come to pick up some supplies”
The massive machine sent you a ping of confirmation, scanning the dock for more poor dock workers. You walk pass the medlbay, and see that the NDS bots are hard at work with their cultures, the same sight of eager workers greets you when you pass the gardens. Ducking into the Industrial center, you quickly fill a crate with 21 units of electronics, and head back out. You give a nod to NDL-74 who continues to be scanning the dock in calculate motions, “Doing good, NDL-74”. You say as you leave the docks and head back to Zirk’s.

One again, you enter the massive hollow tower, and have an eventless trip back up to the floor of Zirk’s emporium. Oddly enough, you enter store and find that it is once again empty. You set down the crate of electronic down on a counter and take a look around the store. “

“I’m coming, I’m coming” You hear from the same side door Zirk came from earlier, soon enough the man himself emerged.

“You know Zirk, it’s not good to leave your emporium unattended. Someone might steal something”. You get a wheezing laugh out of the Xeno this time.

“I wish people would steal from me! It would mean that they think my junk is worth while”. The old man looks off into the distance, scratching his beard while deep in thought, “You know, you’re the first person I’ve seen come in here looking for stuff about humans in .. well in forever. I just find it terrible that we can burn down their world, and then act like they don’t exist. We had an entire galaxy to share, their galaxy. They were the ones who had to suffer though”. The Xeno shakes his head sadly “Ah, but you don’t want to hear an old man ramble. You couldn’t afford the history of Terrans, but I’ve got something just as good”. You get a data packet from Zirk’s Emporium!. Opening it up you note there are three spots highlighted.

“This is a trading hub after all, but there is a small library onboard. Sadly they only allow access to registered scientist or scholars. I marked it on your map just incase. The second mark is series of bars for independent merchants, they seen the entire galaxy, I’m sure they’ve seen something you’re looking for”. The Xeno gives a wink to you. You find it a bit unsettling that they share so many human gestures. Or you at least hope they mean the same thing. The Xeno’s face grew more serious though as he continued talking, “The last thing I’ve marked on your map is a group of bars that attract all sort of low life, but I’ve heard that strange and new species can be found there in person. Good thing you kept your weapon. If you go there you’ll probably need it”.

Before you can say anything the old man reaches up to the heavy crate with surprising strength, and places it behind the counter. He stands back up with a small black disk in his hand. “The station’s computer also told me that you don’t have a credit slip, all the shops have them for free so take this. It’s where credits are stored and can be accessed physically. Don’t mess with it, they have a tendency to explode when tampered with” You take the small black disk from the Xeno gingerly, keeping it away from your body . Zirk laughs how you treat it like a bomb.

“Why are you helping me with this?” You ask the old man, suspiciously.
“Consider it a bit of payment for a galaxy wide debt” He gives another wink at you, a smile breaking through his white beard. You start to panic.
He knows.

You rush rather rudely out of the shop, saying “Thank you for everything”, shakily. In your hands you grasp the starmap, credit slip, and pack of translators.

“Hey! You never told me your name!” Zirk calls out behind you. You stop only a few feet from the door. You consider all the old man’s done for you, and since he already knows. Then again you are so close to the door. In the end uou don’t see any harm in telling him your name.

“ANDR[u]”. “ [Translated as Andrew] “ Your translator quickly beeps from near your head.

“Well Andrew, I am Zirk Thall Qurak, and this is my emporium! If you ever find any interesting technology, you know where to find me!”

With that you fly out of the store, panic adding speed to your legs. Behind you from the store you can hear the laughter of a wheezy old Xeno.

Ship to hook up map first, then library.

Thanks for running.

>Head to the library

Let's try to find some more info on humans so we can calm down the Fuhrer. Then we can hook up the map and choose a destination based on what info we find.

We have our maps, let's head back to the ship to deposit them onto our ship. Maybe our Humans can have some fun studying the Starmap? As well as point out some interesting locations?

Head to the library afterwords. Maybe we can catch a scholar/scientist just leaving, or just entering the place.

>>Head to the library
Might as well try, if no easy access then we go back to the ship to handle our shit.

Also, you can use this if you don't want to keep the typo tag.

I always liked sci-fi, and yours seem original and fun enough. I hope I can see this quest run until it's conclusion

>Query the Station to ask what is needed to be a registered scholar.
They only let registered scholars into the library, after all.
