>Summary:
Our protagonist has heard some strange sounds coming from the vents and glimpsed some shadowy creature Spoopy Scary Servitors maybe? . He decides to investigate by his own accord.

>A: Investigate it while trying not to get yourself discovered.
You wake up from your bed trying to discover what was that. Lack of sleep was not worrying for someone like you, having to stay extra hours working instead of sleeping was the norm and some of the most religious techpriests even considered it a present.

Your new dendrites easily dismount and remove the cover of the ceiling's vents, next thing you do is stand up in your bed and peek inside. Your eyes turn bright as you start to illuminate the dark and web covered apertures. Nothing as far as you can see.

Some experimentation will be needed to discover if there was really something there or it was just your imagination. You look at your screw collection and think of a plan.

Using your dendrites you manage to launch the screws strong and quick enough into the vents. The clinking sound they produce resonates everywhere and that's exactly what you want. Lure the creature into your location.

Nothing is heard for five entire minutes with the exception of the loud snore of someone sleeping close. Moment's before heading back to the bed after considering your plan a total failure you hear it again, this time accompanied with a loud screech.

You sink your head once again in the duct and this time you see it.

A almost skeletally thin man is looking at you with fear and tears. After looking at you and realising you meant no danger blesses the Emperor.

"Please oh mighty Techpriest I beg you, save me!!"

With a small nod you let him descend to your room and then interrogate him.

"Who are you and what were you running from?" You ask bolting the vent again.

"I am...I don't remember my name, or If I had a name at all. I have been working on the charge and discharge sections of the ship...the underlevels. "

A slave of the ship. A person who surely was born and will die there not knowing anything about the galaxy and its contents. Personally you were against the use of slaves, turning them into servitors was way more useful and humane in your biased opinion but on the other side if he was a slave it was because he or his ancestors committed some crime against the Imperium in the past.

"You have not answered my second question"

The bony face of the man looked at me with some big fear covered eyes.

"Me and some others were running away from the red hook"

"The red hook?"

The slave seemed to doubt but after imposing yourself a little he chickened and started to speak.

"There was a legend about a slaver, he was the cruellest of all the slave master. He truly hated slaves and tortured them as best as he could to the point of attaching hooks to the ending of his whips and ripping the skin apart of anyone unfortunate enough. There wasn't any day were he didn't kill anyone"

You shudder at his words, they are said with lots of anxiety and despair

"What happened to that Red hook?"

"Three or four generations before I was born the slaves tired of all the pain and hatred turned against him...it was a massive slaughter as most slaves were little more than cripples but they somehow managed to kill him, until now."

"It is impossible to anybody but the Emperor to come back to life. Truly impossible"

He was not only a escaped slave but also seemed to be crazed, maybe he was a heretic.

>A: Turn him to the authorities.
>B: Believe him, let him continue speaking.

>>
>>36934644
C: Don't believe him but hear out his story fully.

A man like him must have been his entire lifetime eating poorly and living under constant stress and a poor atmosphere. Surely his mind has snapped and he has gone crazy. Maybe the brain genetor Aretoode-2 would love to see a specimen like this...if he hasn't killed himself already of course.

"B-b-but I am saying the truth! There have been multiple cadavers who had hook like wounds and sightings!!"

"And how are those wounds exactly?"

"Depends...if it is aimed towards slaves piercing and usually on the spine, he loved to hook spines and painfully drag people around sometimes for a entire day. If it is towards servitors he poked his eyes, the red hook knew servitors feel no pain so he loved to see them confused and blind instead...that's what the legends say at least."

Those last words hit you like a hammer. The crazed servitors that you found and fought weeks ago in the warp drive had their eyes bloody.

"Tell me more" Your voice turned way more serious, you believed him.

"Well...not everybody believes he has returned to life, not even among the slaves. It is said that he only hunts down the one who have seen him"

"And you did it, did you see him?" You tried to say in a comforting manner, placing your non bionic hand on his gaunt shoulder.

The slave's bladder emptying of fear answered for you.

>A: Force him to accompany you to the slave underlevels to interrogate and gather more info.
>B: Keep him in your room while you contact Oihan and tell her of the situation
>C: Try to contact with Urmo and secretly go with her to investigate, she seems combat capable and you are pretty sure she's investigating too.
>>
>>36934842
>go full heretic
Or we could not. We could maintain our position in Oihan's retinue, deal with the magoses and then rise from there.
>>
>>36934867
I honestly had in mind to make this quest into a descend towards madness and warmongering but so far you guys have kept Heracor pretty loyal and sane.

>B: Keep him in your room while you contact Oihan and tell her of the situation
Sorry but tech girl is 2spooky4me also likely a heratech or xeno.
>>
>>36934863
>B & C
We let Oihan know what's up and tell her we and a fellow techpreist will go investigate. We then go find Urmo and get to work.

We're now vastly better combat capable and we can send wireless messages to keep Oihan updated.

>>36934888
Hahah, let's see how we go. But deliberately choosing madness is folly.
>>
>>36934863
>C: Try to contact with Urmo and secretly go with her to investigate, she seems combat capable and you are pretty sure she's investigating too.
We need to keep this quiet or else we might be accused of heresy. It's too soon.

Because I personally enjoy our relatively sane techpreist. If it's ever a rational decision to head in the direction of Tzeentch then we can do so at that time.

I quite like our current rogue style.

>>
>>36934863
B: Keep him in your room while you contact Oihan and tell her of the situation
>>
>>36934949
Honestly we seem to be more Tzeentch(Change and intellect) Or Slaanesh (purity and perfection) focused. Still we're not insane by any means, in fact i'd like to aovid it. The best bad guys are the guys who can think and counter the "heroes" before said champions get moving.
>>
>>36934965
So, will lying to more important people like the Commissar net more points than lying to a squadmate?
>>
>>36934976
The whole body mod stuff ties into Tzeentch's aspect of change too.
>>
>>36934984
I personally think that since Tzeentch considers everybody pawns it doesn't really matter who do you lie to but the effect those lies generate.

If I am not wrong he has about 3 points some have been removed because he has had honest moments too . With 25 points he will be considered a mentally ill liar, 50 points will turn him into a sociopath manipulator and 75 into a compulsive liar able to get almost whatever he wants...If he reached 100 points he could turn into a chaos spawn since his body couldn't take such a chaotic energy or ascend to become a daemon prince if Tzeentch favours him
>>
>>36934984
i'm pretty sure it's the severity of the lie not the person you're talking to. for example lying to everyone about the rogue servitors would get us more points than lying about breakfast.
>>
>>36935033
Dammit, that codec picture was supposed to go along with the conversation with Oihan.
>>
>>36935042
>>36935033
Well, it's just normally impounded into imperial citizens head to respect authority so I figured lying to a sergeant might not be as bad as lying to a Commissar or a inquisitor.
>>
>>36934992
True like i said, If the kid is going over to chaos make slow and drawn out, give him some spine and testicular fortitude. Besdies the strongest chaos followers(for non space marines) are the ones who struggle with is for the longest time. Of course this is predicated on him falling being a eventuality. It'd be hilarious if he became a magos and just kept doing what he loved, improving the imperium on accident.

"See i jsut made a las-riflethat can pierce astartes armor and that only costs 50% more than a hellgun! This is science you sanctimonious Old bags!"
>>
>>36935060
Well, lying to a sergeant might lead to more catastrophic results that lying to a random citizen for example. But as said before what really matters is the effect of those lies.
>>
>>36934949

>>
>>36935117
Honestly i attributed that more to having actual organic adrenaline fill our body for the first time in decades. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug. Of course now i'm waiting for him to get laid, with him trying to remember the last time her used that specific set of equipment for more than waste discharge.

You contact with Oihan and she takes a moment to respond, seems like you caught her sleeping. Hopefully this doesn't means some punishment or extra hard training exercises for tomorrow.

"Bzzzt...Emperor Dammit why are you contacting me during the scheduled resting hours!?"

"I am so sorry Commissar Oihan! I have detected the presence of a escapee slave and when questioned he informed about a apparently psychopath who is ravaging and killing the slaves on-board"

"If I am not wrong this ship is part of the Imperial Navy, we are just being transported to our destination by them. If any problem surges it is the Navy's problem not mine. Now go to bed or tomorrow I swear I will cut random cables of your beloved roboparts with my own teeth!"

A small beeping indicated that she ceased the contact and surely went to sleep again.

"You will be safe here. There is some food you can eat in my cryo-locker"

After exiting your room you lock it and then try to contact with Urmo explaining once again all the situation. A double blue tick appeared soon after you sent the message marking it as received and read but no reply came from her. A minute later she appeared from the shadows with her graceful movements and once again cold attitude.

"Is it the slave still inside your habitaculum?" She asked.

A second after you nodded she somehow managed to enter the locked room, when you tried to go after her it was closed once again. After some long and tense minutes where nothing but a dead silence came from the other side she exited again with your lasgun in her hands.

"I know where do we have to go" She said with a somewhat crystalline voice after handing you your weapon.

>A: Stop and Interrogate her.

>C: Question her as you go

"Why are you interested in this Urmo? It's not like this is related to anything related to energy whatsoever"

"I could question you the same. Why are you disobeying your superior's orders and breaking the ship's curfew"

"I want to discover what was behind the apparent attack to the Warp Drive"

"So you want to do this for the machinery, not for the life of the slaves."

"I...If we don't investigate this not only the lives of the slaves will be in danger! "

"You don't comprehend how truthful your words are" Said her sharply, ending the conversation.

You and her reached the slave quarters soon. They all lived cramped and surely composed of more than half of the population of the ship. Even when living so poorly they seemed to be happy and most of them also had couples and offspring making the slaves be always into a stable number.

They looked at us in silence and fear. Maybe they thought we were going to turn some of them into servitors. As we advanced more and more moved away leading us free way. Everywhere you looked there were broken things, clogged water pumps, entire streets darkened by the lack of electric current. For someone like you being in a place like that was painful.

>A: Offer yourself to repair things to gain their favour.
"I Heracor Nahive I have come to repair the wounded state of those residential areas and improve your lifestyle."

There seems to be still distrust coming from the slaves but after you work for half a hour in a broken water pump and they see how it starts to flow fresh water for the first time in decades they relax and a rain of petitions overflows you. You around but Urmo has disappeared again, with nothing else to do you work and work until they let you interrogate them.

Not a lot of information comes from them. The only mention of the Red Hook is considered a bad omen and some of them even become slightly violent after you ask. The few people who spit information are the ones who have seen it and know it will come for them, they think you are their last hope and honestly you start to think the same.

What you discover from it is that the man is over seven feet and weights at least 600lbs. His left arm is covered in chains with hooks hanging from it, he has sometimes unhinged his jaw and eaten some slaves whole or by ripping their limbs one by one.

The poor girl who described the Red Hook for me was called crazy and booed. Those slums are so overcrowded and death is so common there that even when a serial killer is on the loose most people just ignore it. You secretly rewarded her with a snack and continued gathering information but not much else came from them.

If it was true that a man like that was in the ship it had to be detained immediately, not only because the deaths it caused among the slave folk but also the risk it mean to anybody on the ship.

Your clock marked the 4 am. You still had two free hours.

You start to hate how independently she works and how she abandons you the moment you stop looking at her. Urma might have saved your life in the past but she also left you for dead, honestly you are pretty sure that she might not have cared if you died or not in the Warp Drive.

With a angry grunt you write her another message asking her position and whereabouts. You keep yourself silent about your discoveries just commenting on that you have discovered something. Due to her nature if you told her everything at once she would just work with the information you gave her and not even respond.

The meeting point she gives you is in a rusty water tower from where the rest of the slums could be observed.

Once in the meeting point she just urges you to handle your discoveries. You angrily say no and she then goes silent while her head vibrates softly.

Your environment then starts becoming confusing and wobbly as your brain hurts. Small flashes of light and random sounds generate around with more frequency and intensity but then a electrical discharge explodes between you and her breaking part of the water tower. Due to your powerful legs you manage to stand still but Urmo has been more affected by the explosion and the water is strongly pushing her if you don't do anything she would fall to her death. Somehow clawing your dendrites into the metallic surface of the tower you manage to push yourself towards her and grab her from the hand seconds before the water pushes her down. Some intense seconds later all the water has been drained and you can safely place her on the floor.

(1/2)
>>
In the ground chaos is happening, the water stream has destroyed the ceiling of at least three houses and the water seems to start clogging on the streets. Luckily this will be reason enough to send some guards here to investigate too.

You grab Urmo on your arms and descend directly ignoring the slaves who are trying to keep the water out of their homes. She feels almost weightless and now looks as frailer than ever.

>C: Try to access the water works and redirect flow of water so slaves won't drown then take Urmo to your room and try to upload a medical diagnostic program so you can heal/repair her.

With Urmo on your back now and supported by your back crane you advance slowly yet without stop thanks to your iron feet towards the emergency water flow pump.

After lowering the pump and opening the gates the water is drained and sent out of the ship. This procedure is usually done for chemical leakages but it was the only option now. Sadly those slaves will be short on water for the duration of the travel now. You wonder how many of those will be able to survive without one week of water.

Back in the upper levels and in your room you find the slave with its belly stuffed with food and sleeping on your bed. He has made himself a collar with a electric cord and some of your screws too.

You place Urmo on the floor and grabbing a plug connect yourself to the mainframe. It is about 5 am now, in less than a hour everybody will be waking up and starting their daily routine. If you took her to the medicae centre they would ask you what happened and that would lead to problems.

Once logged on the ship's databases your level gave you access to advanced programming. There is one compatible with your current bionics and suitable for your necessities.

The program lets you analyse someone and detect broken bones and wounds among other things. Once it has been downloaded and it it has loaded you focus on her unconscious body and analyse her.

After a long time compiling all the data a error message appears.

// ERROR: 910-Z NON-HUMAN INCOMPATIBILITY //

Surprised you removed her mask and saw a beautiful and dark skinned Eldar face. She had purple-black hair and some cream coloured tattoo like face marks on them. What was a Xenos like her doing here?

>>
>>36937498
also great thread, thanks for running!
>>
>>36937578
Replace Kill with interrogate and we have something there anon
>>
>>36937610
With our penis?
>>
>>36937635
I'd prefer not to rape an eldar Slaaneshi stigma and all
>>
I still have some time so feel free to ask me questions and whatnot.

Also, would you like if we added more protagonism to the slave we took care for? I gotta admit I'm starting to feel sympathy of him.
>>
>>36937666
I was joking, not rape, just killing grab the commissar and have her deal with it.
>>
>>36937667
Sure, maybe he'll be our contact for the slaves in the ship.
>>
>>36937667
Are you going to force us to go heretic?
>>
>>36937706
It was my original intent but not anymore. I personally believe that the protagonist technically is a heretek since he's glitched and knows it but doesn't wants the chip to be repaired any way.
>>
>>36937745
So we could just keep being imperial guard?
>>
Here it is uploaded to the archive:

>>36937777
That's the point of a quest, turning it into what we want so my answer is: Why not?
>>
>>36937498
fug it totally slipped my mind that Dark Eldar are a thing..
>>
why would an eldar worship slannash? isn't she going to eat their soul?
>>
>>36938236
Dark Eldar just want more slaves
>>
>>36938143

Dark Eldar aren't really dark skinned if that's what you mean. It is still unknown if she is Eldar, Deldar or Exodite

>>36938236
And the hint about her being a Succubus was a joke. Eldar's wouldn't obviously worship Slaanesh.
>>
>>36938273
I say we bind her wrists and treat her as best we can, then wake her up.
>>
>>36938308
Nah, We tie her up and call the commissar.
>>
Shit we have to warn the captain too, she was in the warp drive.
>>
>>36938326
You want some hot lesbian Commissar x Eldar love don't you?

>>36938349
Remember that the captain was a total dick.
>>
>>36938362
No, i'd honestly be very happy if this quest was lewd free. but other people like lewds so I'll probably be out voted for that.

Also dick or not, people need to know she could have fucked around with the warp drive
>>
>>36938362
>>36938403
I enjoy lewds but I'd hate for it to be a goal or focus in this quest. If an appropriate occasion arises I can get behind it but I'm not going to vote in a way that steers all our actions with our dick.
