LAST TIME ON GEASS QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/36877924/

Thread times and updates posted here: https://twitter.com/Crosswire

Rules and Mechanics: http://pastebin.com/J8ehewqf

The distant sound of gunfire and the rumble of explosions beneath your feet greet your ears as you sit outside of a fast food joint and eat a cheeseburger. Everyone nearby, even the normally apathetic Number workers at the restaurant, seem deeply worried about the police blockade down the street and the sound of military hardware.

You however just smile and eat the breakfast (or rather the lunch given how much time had passed) you’d set out to get in the first place.

It’s not remotely as healthy as the food you’d bought at the store, but sometimes you need more than good food to get on the path to quick recovery, sometimes you just need good entertainment. At the moment nothing is more entertaining than imagining the looks of the Black Knights faces as they’re attacked and all but surrounded by the military, with no indication or sign that they’d been discovered before hand.

You doubt Zero’s gotten the news about this base raid yet given that it’s happening right now, but you hope it gets to him sooner rather then later. He hides his face behind a mask, but if you concentrate enough and tease the idea you can conjure up the the reaction he might have to this in your mind at the cost of getting a wicked migraine.

In spite of the pain you happily finish your unhealthy lunch and think on what to do next. You could easily go back home and try to rest up before the inevitable battle, or you could meet up with Suzaku and Lloyd to use the valuable information you gained to weasel your way back into service in spite of your injuries.

So Shirley, what do you wish to do?

Turning on your phone, you leave Pizza Hut and proceed down the street, watching your back as you pull out your phone and begin making calls.

You try to call Suzaku first and don’t get an answer and after trying to call Lloyd for the seventh time, the sweet sound of Cecile’s voice comes over the line.

“Hello?”

“Oh hey, Cecile. It’s me Kuu.”

“Oh Kuu, we were looking for you earlier. I called a couple times before but you didn't pick up, has something happened? You aren't still in the base are you?"

“No, no I’m fine. I got out of the base without being seen, though that might be because I turned off my phone.” You continue walking down the street before pondering something. “Hey Cecile, didn't I call Lloyd’s phone?”

“Well Lloyd’s phone might as well be my phone given all the calls I have to take for him. If it weren't for me his poor wife wouldn’t know where her husband was or if he was even still breathing. Anyway, tell me where you are and we'll drive the trailer to pick you up. Suzaku's been deployed, but he's near enough nearby that it shouldn't be a problem if you're somewhere locally..."

Smiling at the thought of Kallen getting trounced by Suzaku in the almighty Lancelot, you inform Cecile of where you are and are met by her a couple minutes later. After hoping aboard and driving back to the mission site, Suzaku returns with the Lancelot banged up and badly scorched in some areas.

The seventh generation Knightmare shambles into the trailer, smoke billowing out from the subway tunnels that led to now certainly destroyed base.

Exiting the machine Suzaku, covered in sweat and breathless, takes a moment to recover before saying "The base was destroyed, but one of the Knightmares allowed some of the rebels to escape into the tunnels before collapsing them."

"Was it that red Knightmare again?" Lloyd asks, genuine irritation creeping into his voice.

Waifu bit was kinda not serious, and for the mom part there was this in one of the earlier threads
>“You must be new test pilot Lloyd had scouted. I’m Cecile Croomy, it’s a pleasure to meet you Private first class Xinlu Kuu.” Cecile gives you a warm smile and extends a friendly hand to you, however as you look the women over you’re reminded of your mother and cringe.
With Pailsen the only person she can trust right now which is not healthy at all, I can see Shirley needing a mother-like person who she can find comfort with, and Cecile seems to be the ideal person for this.
>>
>>36898463
Eh, not much to go on in this update for that, I'm afraid. Crosswire, could you increase Cecile's speaking role a bit? Hell, can we get a few talky bits in with everyone now and again? “What’s the matter Suzaku? Do you know something about that red machine?”

From the look on Suzaku's face you know immediately he's hiding something. Not out of fear or necessity, but out of a kind of uncertain apprehension. L

“No, not really. Just whoever’s piloting it must be a good fighter.” Suzaku states quickly, crushing the water bottle in his hands as he looks up at you trying to seem clueless.

His eyes lock with yours however and he seems to grow tense as you stare at him, as if catching onto the fact that you might not believe him or may very well know he's lying.

You saw Kallen's face as clear as day down in the base. Sure you don't have any evidence, but an investigation would most certainly turn up something incriminating.

You could easily inform Cecile and Lloyd of the pilot’s identity. Kallen’s life would be destroyed and she’d be a wanted criminal. If Suzaku knew who she was then why didn't he do something about this earlier?

There is one hypothetical problem though. What will Shirley do when she learns about totally-not-Third-Impact?

>>36898921
Sweet.
>>
>>36898682
Because we don't consciously know that Lelouch is Zero. We know it subconsciously, but if we try to think about it too much we get a migraine. At this point all we know is that Zero is someone we know.
>>
>>36899076
WE also know he was close to us and male which really narrows down the list, furthermore he isn't suzaku, but memory manip is a bitch yo deal with.
>>
>>36899108
yeah, we can't even think about Lelouch without a migraine. He will pay, but he is making it hard for us, that's for sure.
>>
>>36899137
Kind of the point to what he did. He's going to find out unintended consequences are a bitch though. It's less about thinking about Lelouch and more about Lelouch as Zero though. which is why we instinctively hate him even though we can't quite say why.
>>
>>36899076
Crosswire, can you please clarify if we know that Lelouch is Zero or not? Because now I'm honestly confused with this bit, HIM, our intentions towards Zero, going to school, etc
>>
>>36899196
Technically you don't know that Zero is Lelouch. You recognize that Lelouch is somehow involved in your memory loss and feel a powerful urge to avoid him, and subconsciously you've already seen Zero's face and know that Lelouch is Zero.

Due to the "Forget" Geass command however, you can't consciously acknowledge that fact without risking forgetting everything. This is why Shirley joined the military instead of just telling the authorities that Lelouch was Zero.
>>
>>36899177
>unintended consequences are a bitch though
yeah...whilst his reasoning wasn't brilliant he did have the best intentions there.

Oh well!
>>
>>36899196
It seems like we've developed a conversion disorder towards the forcibly repressed memories regarding Lelouch/Zero. Whenever we're around him the subconscious knowledge brings the whole puzzle back to the surface, but the geass suppresses it, create an internal conflict that the mind must suppress, creating severe emotional stress from both knowledge and suppression. This stress manifests as severe headaches which we both subconsciously and, in an instinctual pavlovian sense, have learned to associate with Lelouch himself.

We hate Lelouch because he makes our head hurt because we are repressing the fact that we know he's Zero, but we hate Zero because he killed our father and helped kill our mother and made us forget several very important things.
>>
>>36899253
Fucks Shirley gives about Zero's intetntions: 0
>>
>>36899253
Of course, I do predict a shit storm for if we do finally remember because the geass is cancelled, because then we would also remember that we loved Lelouch. after all, in the actual series, when Shirley does remember, she decides to forgive him. Whether or not that happens this time remains to be seen however...

The temptation to out Kallen is practically overwhelming, but the apprehension in Suzaku's eye makes you rethink things. Suzaku's never been one for any kind of rule breaking from what you've seen, if he does know Kallen's identity then he must have a reason for not outing her in the first place.

Cecile notices your eyes locked with Suzaku and puts a hand on your shoulder, making you pull away at the gentle touch as if a ghost had reached out to comfort you.

"Kuu is something wrong?" Cecile looks at you and you have to turn your gaze away from her kind face as if you were staring into the sun.

"No, nothing is wrong." You say with a false smile as you take a seat beside the breathless and worried looking Suzaku. "I'm just glad to be back. Anyway, did you guys get the information I sent?"

Cecile, hiding her worry, nods her head. "I sent the information straight to the palace as soon as it was received. This raid and the three others going on in the settlement have confirmed the validity of the information. Congratulations Private Kuu, you’ve done a serious blow to the rebellion!”

“Yes, it seems you’ve impressed a lot of people. They’re all rather curious to how you got the information, but considering how valuable this information is I doubt they’ll care.” Lloyd explains as he saunters over, bemusement returning to his voice after his previous irritation.

“You’ve been requested down at the palace for debriefing and congratulations.” Suzaku explains and you can’t help but smile.

Only goods things can come from this, nothing can stop you now!

>Meanwhile back on Mt. Fuji

“Destroyed? One of the bases in the settlements was found?” The dark figure questioned, as he was given a stack of papers by a well dressed man with blond hair.

“Not just one, all four of the bases we built in the abandoned tunnels under the settlement were discovered and from what we’ve gotten from the Britannian troop movements they’re moving to attack our hidden bases outside of the settlement.”

The masked man, draped in black and purple scanned through the stack of papers, the infuriated face of the young man underneath hidden from the watchful gaze of the man who was all but obsessed with him.

“How did this happen!?” Zero boomed, making Diethard jump slightly as the normally unshakeable chess master swept his hand across his desk in sheer frustration and sent the stack of reports he’d been given scattering across the floor.

“We don’t know for sure, Kallen helped a majority of the personnel there escape and when questioned there was no signs of trouble before the attack. However our moles within the military informed us that pictures of a tactical map from the base command center that detailed the approximate location of our major bases, save for this one. The sender’s identity is being kept a secret from everyone by the highest ranked individuals.”

Zero was practically shaking now, his gloved hands tightening with a soft leather squeak and his breathing becoming something heavy. It looked like the masked man was about to lose his mind when he stopped, his anger evaporating in an instant as he sat down and folded his hands.

“I have a contact who should be able to tell me everything I want. You may leave now.” Zero said, calmness and clarity returning to his voice.

“I don’t follow you.” Diethard looked at Zero, perplextion filling his professional gaze. “The information couldn't be collected by our moles, apparently only the top brass of the Britannian military know who sent the information and they aren't-”

“My contact is in one of the highest positions possible. They’ll be able to tell me anything I want, everything will be fine. Return to your work and I'll have new orders for you shortly”

Diethard hesitated for a moment, his eyes twinkling with the curiosity, but he merely grinned and left Zero’s dark office like a boy deciding not to spoil Christmas for himself by peeking at his presents.

As soon as his office door was locked Lelouch sat down and removed his mask, C.C. stepping out of the shadows with a nonplussed look on her face.

“I thought you said you were only going to use her if you absolutely needed too.” She said in a dull tone, playing with her hair as she walked over to Lelouch and leaned against his desk.

“The Britannians know where all our bases are and we just lost the hidden strike bases we set up in the settlement itself. I need to know who compromised my plan and have them dealt with before they can cause anymore problems.” Lelouch pulled out his phone, grimacing to himself as he flipped it open and dialed the number.

“Besides, killing my enemies just causes more problems. I'll enslave the entire world if it means winning...” Putting the phone to his ear Lelouch smiled, though it was hardly a genuine grin.

“Hello dear sister, do you recognize my voice? Good, then you know that you must do everything I ask....”

You find yourself aboard the Avalon after a short trip and only have a little while till you arrive at the palace. From the sounds of it you'll probably be meeting generals and nobles, and may very well receive a grand promotion for this work. No the command was specifically to forget Lelouch. she remembered everyone else and everything else except things that directly involved Lelouch. She even remembered Nunnally. Stop trying to make up stupid excuses for acting amoral. We already have a reason not to care to much, we have already justified everything we have done. YES THE MAO CLAP!
>>
>>36900122
As for the memory Geass, in this continuity Lelouch used a rather vague command in the hopes of making it so he could make Shirley forget whatever he wanted whenever he needed too. It back fired on him rather quickly as she not only forgot about him and what happened, but forget everything that was bothering her, the death of her father, childhood issues, and a lot more.

You pull out your phone and make a quick call to the mask maker, asking if your mask was ready yet or not.

“It’ll still take two more days for me to finish it, I’ll get it to you as soon as it’s done.”

Hanging up, you hide your disappointment and glance at the sunglasses you got from Rick. It would probably get you in trouble to wear them at a ceremony, but then again a mask probably wouldn’t have been any less rude.

Deciding to both get dressed and question Suzaku at the same time, you call him up and pull him into your room the moment he arrives. Locking the door behind him you immediately start getting undressed in front of him. Normally you would have never done this, but Suzaku would never dare watch you undress willingly...if he valued his ability to procreate.

“S-shirley what are you doing!?” Suzaku asks, jumping back and averting his eyes like you just tried to set his dick on fire.

“I’m getting changed for when I meet the generals.” You say nonchalantly, blushing a little but smiling at the sight of Suzaku’s weakness in such an uncomfortable situation. “I brought you here because I wanted to talk to you about Kallen.”

“Kallen? Well she hasn’t been at school very much so I wouldn’t-”

“No, no. I’m not talking about school Suzaku, I’m talking about work. She’s the pilot of that red machine, right?” You see Suzaku grimace, but it’s difficult to tell if it’s from what you just said or how you just slipped out of your panties.

“I-I-I don’t know what you’re talking about!” He stammers, closing his eyes as you stand bare ass naked in front of him and begin to pick out undergarments to wear.

“I think you do Suzaku and I want to know why you’re protecting Kallen. If she’s fighting against us then why haven’t you turned her in?”

“Because if I did her mother would be killed…”

"What?" You're in the process of pulling on a new pair of panties when you hear this, stopping in confusion to look at Suzaku for answers.

"I found out that Kallen was the pilot of that red Knightmare shortly before Zero ended up stealing the Gawain. Originally I was just going to tell the authorities what I knew...but I wanted to look into why she might have joined." Suzaku keeps his eyes closed tight but he speaks in a serious tone.

"I did a little bit of digging and I found out that Kallen's mother, or rather he birth mother, was arrested and imprisoned for refrain use."

"Her birth mother? You mean she's-"

"Half Japanese. Her father is half-Brittanian, but her real mother is Japanese. If I told the authorities that Kallen is a member of the Black Knights then they'd user her mother as bait or just outright kill her to send a message." Suzaku grimaces and you shake your head.

"Oh, that sounds like good reason, it's not like lives of these poor soldiers she kills are worth anything, right Suzaku?"

"It's not like I've let her get away Shirley." Suzaku says, his voice collected but strained with hints of uncertainty

"If I can bring her in myself then her mother won't need to die, no one else will need to suffer. Besides, even if they did know Kallen was a member of the rebellion I doubt they'd catch her. If they killed her mother that would just send her over the edge and I've seen how Kallen fights, I can barely keep up with her in the Lancelot. Throw her into a rage and I don't want to imagine how much damage she could do."

You pull on your undergarments and think on the matter.

>You don't care if Kallen's mother dies. She needs to pay and she's going to kill people regardless of weather or not she's angry.

>Kallen may be the enemy...but she's still a friend, if a distant one. Getting her mother killed won't do anything of value.

Can we agree that going after parents is a dick move? I mean, considering we probably can't actually remember our major motivation to go after Zero, the importance of said parents is something Shirley can probably relate to.

Also, she's not Zero, so that's a point in her favor. Can't go full monster if it's not Zero.

On top of that, keeping her where she is allows us to predict Zero's movements. If she's not in school for any long period of time, we can assume Zero's out of the country. If she's in school but has to leave, an attack is about to take place. By leaving her where she is, we can keep the moral high ground on top of having an advanced alarm system to what Zero's up to, in a way he can't predict or deal with.

You hate Kallen for lying to you, but you don’t hate her enough to knowingly get her mother killed. Besides, having her around would allow you to know about the Black Knights, since her absence or presence at school would allow you to get an idea of what the rebels were up too.

“Alright Suzaku, I won’t tell anyone about Kallen but only because I don’t think she deserves to watch her mother die in front of her like I did. However if she becomes a problem for me I won’t hesitate to everyone about who she really is, regardless of what happens to her mother..” You pull on the paints of your dress uniform and see Suzaku nod out of the corner of your

“Thank you Shirley. Uh...can I go now?”

“After I’m done. I want you to remember that you owe me for this, bare that in mind if you ever tease the idea of getting in my way.” Practically dressed Suzaku opens one of his eyes to check on the process and opens his eyes once he sees you’re not nude.

Suzaku doesn’t say anything and once you’re fully dressed you let him leave...only to find Cecile standing outside your room.

"You were in there an awfully long time..." She comments with a suspicious look on her face.

"Wait, Cecile what did you hear? I swear it's not what it-" Fear shoots through you at the idea of someone having heard about Kallen, but Cecile just leans over and wags a finger in your face.

"I'll have you know that military fraternization is a serious offense."

"WAIT WHAT? NO CECILE IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!" You feel the blood rush to your face and Suzaku waves his hands in front of him as if they were on fire.

"Cecile it's not like that at all! It's-"

"Oh don't worry, I won't tell anyone~" Cecile says with gleeful smile. "I'd hate to ruin such a cute couple."

Your face turns as red as a tomato and you are rendered speechless by the situation. Cecile leaves and you and Suzaku are left standing outside of your room, unable to look at one another or say anything.

The Knights of the Round are in a position above just about everyone else, they operate outside the standard Britannian military and are given special privileges and authority. Sure they have a lot of responsibilities and are often deployed on special missions and assignment, but Knights of the Round can form their own personal units if they wish and have a surprising amount of autonomy provided they remain in the Emperor’s good graces.

You doubt this accomplishment will land you a spot on the table, but more notoriety and a boost from Private First class might be a step in the right direction. After all, anyone can become a Knight of the Round provided they’re seen as good enough.

On the ground you’re informed that the Princess herself wishes to speak to you and are escorted to the throne room.

Your heart races as the large doors to the room are opened and you find yourself in the presence of high ranking officers, generals, and Princess Cornelia herself, the “Goddess of Victory” as she’s referred to by many. Surrounded by dozens of armed guard, completely appropriate in the presence of royalty, you are led up the long red carpet leading to the throne.

The walk gives you a moment to note how regal, yet threatening Cornelia seems. Her physique is apparent through her clothes and the look on her face seems oddly stern for such a good situation.

Brought before her, you kneel and bow your head, your eyes on the ground.

“You’re Private Xinlu Kuu, correct?” Cornelia asks, her voice surprising cold.

“Yes.” You respond quickly, keeping your head bowed.

“And you’re the one who infiltrated the Black Knights base and stole the information that was sent to us just a short while ago?”

“Yes that was me…” You state and look up for a brief moment to see the Princess pointing a gun at you.

The Princess, eyes cold and merciless stands above you with a pistol pointed down at your head. No one in the room seems all that surprised by this and the guards in the room begin to circle in around you.

"You thought you could supply us with false information and lure us into one of Zero's traps? Pathetic, didn't you even conceive of the idea that we might have a mole within your ranks?"

"What are you talking about?" You stand to your feet and back away from Cornelia as she keeps her gun trained on you, something about her eyes makes you queasy...

"You're a traitor, a plant by the Black Knights within our ranks to make us play right into Zero's hands. Are you telling me that you just happen to stumble across the Black Knights base while shopping? I don't know who you really are, but once OSI is through with you there's nothing I won't know."

"I never said the Black Knights were smart!" You snap as the guards make a circle around you, their assault rifles all but jammed against your back. "I found that base because I followed my gut and got lucky, that shouldn't be grounds to throw me in prison regardless of what your mole says. I'd be more worried about why your mole didn't get you this information sooner."

Cornelia however is completely unmoved by your words and lurches forward, nailing you hard on the injured side of your chest and flooring you with a single punch. You grasp your side, gasping in pain as blood begins to soak through your uniform, your wound seems to have been opened from the blow.

"There's no use discussing with a traitor anymore, you're as good as dead." And with that Cornelia pistol whips you hard across the side of the had, throwing you into darkness.

When you awake you find yourself on the floor of a cold, featureless cell with a glass front and not so much as a toilet to piss in. You try to stand up but find yourself unable too. Looking down you find yourself encased in what you can only describe as some kind of straight jacket, your arms behind your back and your feet cuffed together to make it all but impossible to walk.

Thankfully your mouth is uncovered and your chest doesn't hurt, despite getting punch so hard that you began to bleed earlier.

You can't see any real way out of the room and from where you're laying you can't see any guards. What do you want to do?

You’re sure that your innocence will be proven in due time, but you decide to think of a way out in case that queasy feeling you got looking into Cornelia’s eyes actually means something.

Moving around on your feet is a challenge and you find just scrunching along the floor like a worm actually works a lot better. You check the room for anything to use to cut your jacket open but don’t find a thing, the walls and floors are sleek and spotless.

Inching your way over to the glass wall that serves as the door to your cell, a few sharp kicks while you’re on your back quickly show that the glass is reinforced, probably bullet proof. The only way you can think of to get out of here is to be let out.

After all but pressing your face against the glass, you manage to barely see a pair of guards down the hall and assume that with enough noise they’ll come to check up on you.

“It’s like in those movies, where the prisoner pretends to be sick to trick the guards into the cell to kick their asses. I doubt they’d fall for a stomach ache though...blood loss on the other hand…”

Your chest wound doesn’t hurt as much as it did before and considering it was probably opened from Cornelia’s punch it’s not hard to imagine throwing your side into the wall to get yourself to bleed would be all that much of a challenge.

Vomit and crying the guards could probably ignore, but bleeding? That’ll be hard. Jumping them might be difficult, but it’s better than nothing.

You have a plan to escape but jumping the gun before you’re let out would just land you in more trouble. So you decide to wait things out for a bit.

How long are you willing to wait Shirley?”

You decide to wait the day in the best way you can, sleeping!

Considering what you’ve been through today, infiltrating an enemy base, finding out one of your classmates is a terrorist, getting gut punched by a princess, and then getting locked up has been rather tasking on you.

A good couple hours of sleep should make you feel better and when you wake up everything’s bound to ether be sorted out or gone straight to shit. Regardless of which happens you’re going to need your beauty sleep to deal with it and huddle up in one of the corners to sleep.

Sleep does not come quickly or smoothly for you, and even when you do eventually fall asleep it’s a cold and abrupt sleep that’s cut short by violent shaking that practically sends you vibrating across the floor.

Assuming that the entire palace shaking is the sign that things aren’t going so well, you get yourself to your feet and begin throwing yourself against the wall to open your chest wound when Suzaku comes in holding an assault rifle,

“Shirley what are you doing?”

“I’m trying to get out of- Oh hey Suzak-” You turn stop yourself mid throw, but end up smacking your head off the wall due to being in a strait jacket.

Suzaku rushes over and begins to cut you out of the jacket as you come to your senses.

“So you came to break me out?” You ask as you’re led out the cell into the hallway, allowing Suzaku to lead the way.

“I guess you could call it breaking out, though at this point I’m not sure there’s anyone really able to object to you being lead out.”

“What do you mean?” You look at Suzaku for answers but he stays silent and continues to lead you through the palace and into a meeting room where you see most, if not all of the high ranking officers and generals that served under Cornelia scattering around a table, blood and bile spewing out from their bullet ridden corpses as a familiar voice rings out over a large television monitor on the other side of the room.

“DEATH TO BRITANNIA! LONG LIVE ZERO!”

Cornelia’s purple Gloucester stands amongst a pile but butchered friendly Sutherlands as a massive black ship flies into camera shot…

(And this is where I'll end things tonight)

Welp she was geassed, guess next time we'll have to clue Suzaku in with what we can remember. This is a clusterfuck and a half. Thanks for Running Merry Christmas Crosswire!

so Zero's plan succeded and all our efforts were for nothing? I just knew we should've stayed home and played with the white squids adopted little sisters.

Thanks for running!

Zero had to change the plan dramatically.
>>
What's bothersome is that this is excruciatingly unsubtle for Zero. Forcing Princess Cornelia to break character in the single most dramatic and jarring way possible is maddening to anyone watching.

he had to scramble, because we through a class 12 out of ten monkey wrench into his plan. Apparently it snowballed from subtle to well fuck lets see where this goes.

This makes sense I guess.
But there's still the matter of our identity. Was it compromised? Guess we'll find out soon...

So is the Cornelia going crazy or something else?
>>
>>36905641
She's doing her best murdereuphie impression

The difference is that this was willfully induced in Cornelia instead of accidentally induced in Euphemia.

I bet Nunally would love to know what a kind person her brother is.

What better way to stall for time than by forcing Britannian infighting? Of course, Zero was forced to liquidate one of his most prized assets in the process.
