Welcome to the LV installment of "Disney Villains Victorious."

Disney Villains Victorious is a new /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole.

It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog.

It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.

That's rough. We've had fun the last few threads but we really ought to buckle down and get the rest of our villains statted out. I'm still working in Queen La but I'm also at work so it will take a while.

>>36780308
Technically true as neither Nobody nor Gaston have stats. Therefore Nobody got statted like Gaston: not statted at all.

In the thread before that, someone had mentioned they were going to stat Gaston. What a disappointment that turned out to be.

Right, so rewrite the first trait.
Percussion, Strings, Winds, Words: +3 to Music checks in romantic situations.

>>36781708
I'd say a Pistol Shrimp is a Tiny Mantis Shrimp, but that would be technically inaccurate on account of them not being too closely related and their similarity being entirely by convergent evolution. And yes, those last 2 traits are the same, I only made them separate both for humor. The other title on the drawing board for the second is ONETWOTHREEDEATH!

Last thread people were talking about how to deal with La's ability to body jump, my suggestion is as such.

Static Power
Undying Soul
Whenever La would die instead her spirit simply becomes unhinged and needs time to recouperate(a day/week/wahtever) once she has recouperated La's spirit becomes active once again and seeks to possess the nearest living creature regardless of species(Possessing a nonhuman with no magical power of it's own diminishes La's mystical abilities to nearly nothing while she remains within such a body)

Active Power
Body-Shift
While inside a living body Queen La can spens X Will Point(s) and two actions to shift her mind and soul into another being's body, the afflicted creature must make a TN XX (some form of resistance or maybe a contested check) or have there mind suppressed by La's as she asserts control of thee body. Every day a new check can be made to regain control unless they fail 3 consecutive saves in which case La gains true control of her new body and the spirit of the former is trapped until La ejects herself, those who beat La for control however instead suppress La's attempts to control them leaving her 'stuck' inside of them, daily checks occur normally as La attempt to take control, La can as well spend X Will Points(where X is how many she has total) to attempt to force a second control check.

-

When La takes over a body she should probably just carry over her mental stats while gaining the physical stats of the new body. Hope this helps.
>>
Knightfag, I can't find you for shit. Can you try adding me instead?
>>
>>36782703
I like it because it makes Queen La dangerous in a very different way and, like a lot of DVV's other Kings and Queens, necessitates that the PCs think carefully about how hey interact with her and what to do with her once they decide that she needs to go.
>>
>>36782839
>>36782703

What would work is if this power is kept hidden or only hinted at through old legends and such, making its eventual reveal a surprise to the players. I think that this power might be best used against an NPC that the characters have grown attached to, or against a PC who's player is amenable to the idea beforehand. It probably shouldn't be used against any old PC as players might not cotton to the idea of their character getting hijacked.
>>
>>36782703
Should probably add some kind of temporary physical penalty for adjusting to the body.

>Queen La is finally cornered and defeated in a decisive and dramatic finaly battle, and that night the party and the entire City of Opar is celebrating their newfound freedom.
>All except for the young Leopard Girl who'd been your guide since entering this jungle land seems quiet and withdraw, shaking her head and murmuring to herself.
>She'd been here and witnessed Queen La's demise, the poor thing, and must be traumatized. Attempts to speak to her are met with angry hissing or frightened pleas to be left alone.
>After a night of feasting, drinking and dancing, the party staggers off to find beds in the Royal Palace in which to sleep off their drunkeness, ready for the rest they deserve.
>They are awoken in the night by the sound of small feet on the stone floors beside their bed, the Leopard Girl wielding a wicked blade with a wicked smile in her face but terror in her eyes.

Occasional references to La 'always' having ruled Opar but if players look deep enough they find art that depicts different women ruling Opar throughout it's history. Does anyone remember if La had only recently taken over Opar in the show or if it was ambiguous/specifically stated that she has ruled it for a while?

Didsome digging to find some ideas for Enemies since we still need some example Villians for... well everywhere as far as I can tell. Here's what I have from the Little Mermaid show

-Lobster Mobster(and Da Shrimp)
Not much on him, hes a Lobster who is a Mobster, could make for a good Zero Tier enemy though for campaigns that start unda da sea

-Brain Sponge
Seems to be a mostly 'mindless' monster that devours life force, its more leech than sponge and seems to prefer particularly powerful beings. Ariel turned it on Manta in the show so that could be a way that those who are having a problem with Manta could deal with him.

-Little Evil
Evil Manta's son, not much too him other than the fact that he's probably older at this point in the timeline and if Ariel never met him or never successfully turned Little away from evil then he's probably on his way to being just like his father at this point but perhaps not beyond redemption.

-Ebb and Flo
a pair of alifator thieves, like the mobster they are not particularly 'big' and are not especially powerful, but could make for decent low level enemies.

the real heavy hitters seem to be these two

-Evil Manta(Hero Tier Enemy? Not quite King Tier but an all around badass)
Big time enemy for those looking to free the sea from Ursula's grasp(and perhaps an enemy to those traveling the seas) he's a pretty big problem from what I gathered of my recollections of the show and what I read on his wiki entry, probably suited for high On-A-Roll tier players through to low Hero tier he even comes with a couple villainous allies. Probably acting as a self interested force under the sea or is in Ursula's employ.

-Emperor Sharga
King of the Sharkanians, I saw him on the wiki and considering he wanted to take Atlantica for himself I'd say he's probably a relatively powerful being, probably on par with Manta though with brute force where Manta has magic.

I was going to say it should be a more modern Atlantean submarine, but then if it was the Ulysses itself it would a certain......je ne sais quois, non?
>>
>>36787514
The Ulysses would maybe be more impactful, but if its a more modern Atlantean vessel it will have the necessary technology to safely bypass the Leviathan's Defense Perimeter, and a Crystal Powerplant to overload and blow up.
>>
>>36787514
>it would HAVE a certain
Eugh. By the way, dearest drawfag, once you've got your group shot of DTP done, would consider doing some shots of DTP with some of the characters they met in the playtests?

Playtest 1:
>Sverd, Hannah and Jeremiah met:
>Bruce "Dances With Antelopes" Smith: Carries a rifle, hunting knife, "magic beads", wears a buckskin outfit with a pair of bullet bandoliers (which were pretty full after he loaded up at the police station), you know, pretty standard frontiersman outfit. He could pass for one of the Sioux, or for a white man.
>Naacha: Nimble Nile Crocodile. Probably not the biggest one out there, but still of a respectable size.

Playtest 3:
>Jeremiah met:
>Raymond Rivers: An Atlantean 'citizen'. Standing at 5’4”, what Raymond lacks in height and cleanliness, he makes up for in style. His black hair is spiky and slick, usually pushed back by the pair of aviators on his forehead. Round faces and sharp noses, his thin lips are usually turned up in a smirk. Raymond’s most characteristic feature seems to be his thick eyebrows. He wears a dirty biker jacket.
>Captain Anitelu Ahomana, Pirate-Prince of Polynesia: A strong prince of a small Polynesian island who decided he preferred a life of piracy. Strong of jaw, long of hair, and both tattooed and built heavily. Wears a white tunic, light brown trowsers, big black boots, a great red overcoat, all fancy, complete with very broad golden epaulettes, and upon his head rests a cheesily large black bicorne with a skull and crossbones with a stuck out tongue, which he intends to fly as his own flag someday because he's SSSOOOOOO original. Wields a heavy saber and a shotgun. Pic related.
>Brawlin' Bart: The Captain's first mate and constant companion. Google image "bloody bradigan" and you'll get his character art on the second hit.
>Vergil: A well read gentleman guinea pig. A fairly large and plump brown guinea pig, wearing a vest and waistcoat complete with handkerchiefs and monocle.
>>
>>36788487
or the Leviathan would simply ignore it having already wrecked it once, and the crab that carries it registers as ambient wildlife?
>>
Bumping before I head home and can rid myself of this stupid phone and post in earnest.
>>
Just an idea: We could integrate flaws that would give you a certain number of free Lessons at character creation, but would limit your character significantly. These can be bought off for the price of a trait if and when the GM decides that your character has matured past the flaw. Examples:
Bleeding Heart: You are trusting of anyone with a sob story. -3 to Insight against these people
Pacifist: You may not initiate combat unless your opponents have already attacked a party member
You're All Wizards!: Upon failing an Endure save that you must take every time you see something that goes contrary to your ideals, you use your highest stat for all attacks, but must be hostile to everyone around you.
>>
>>36789534
>You're All Wizards!: Upon failing an Endure save that you must take every time you see something that goes contrary to your ideals, you use your highest stat for all attacks, but must be hostile to everyone around you.
This would be and example of a Huge Flaw. This means that it counts as 2 flaws, granting twice the bonus and costing twice as much to buy off.
>>
>>36790140
>A berserking character can be restored to sanity by dealing two strikes on him, or a single strike if it is dealt by the berserking character's primary stat, ie, smacking a robust character in the face, tripping a nimble character, talking a sensible character out of the tree and telling him to put down the gun
Thoughts? These flaws are still a rough draft

Okay, been thinking about Combo.
A) Look at the stat of the villains and Kings. Considering that the caps on traits is 12, 14 and 16 for Zero, On A Roll and Heroic (14,16 and 18 if you're miniscule, tiny or huge, but huge won't come up in this case), is this trait really going to be used that often against significant opponents if you have to beat their Agility by 5? Perhaps we should reduce how much you have to beat their agility by to 3.
B) We need traits of similar potency for other attributes. A proposal for Robustness:
>Overwhelming Brawn: If your Robustness exceeds your opponent's Robustness by 3 or more, decrease the threshold to deal extra physical strikes by 3 so long as they are dealt with Robustness.

Also, we have no statlines for fish. It would be wonderful if someone could fix that in the next 24 hours. Though actually statting up any of the remaining kings would be better.
>>
>>36791352
I'll see what I can do. But what kind of fish? They'll probably range from Minuscule to Large.

Name: Queen La of the Lost City of Opar

---Traits---
Mistress of an Army: Can call in any Villains that haven’t been defeated.
QUEEN: This unit is a QUEEN, with all the benefits that entails.
Quick Like a Cat: If this unit’s agility score exceeds that of her foe by at least 5 points, she can attack a second time in the same turn..
Animal Magnetism: +3 Deceit, +3 Persuasion while attempting an act of seduction.
Queen of the Jungle: +2 Stealth, +2 Travel while in the jungle or +2 Persuasion, +2 Intimidate while in the Lost City of Opar.
>>
>>36793007
---Powers---
We Could Rule Together, Side By Side: Spend a Will Point. +10 Persuasion while offering to make the targeted PC Queen La’s Royal Consort.
On The Prowl: Spend a Will Point. +10 Stealth while attempting to stalk the PCs unseen.
Unfinished Business: Queen La’s shamanic spirit persists after she is killed, regaining strength and magical potential for twice as many days as there are characters in the party, minus the number of unspent Will Points she had at the time of her death. Her spirit will then seek to possess the nearest living creature regardless of species, but possessing a non-humanoid with no magical power of its own greatly diminishes La's mystical abilities.
The Queen Is Dead, Long Live The Queen: Spend three Will Points. Queen La can attempt to transfer her mind and soul into another being's body in a shamanic ritual that takes three rounds to complete. If she does not receive two strikes before the ritual finishes, the target of her spell must check their Endure + Insight scores, multiplied by their unspent Will Points against Queen La’s Persuade + Intimidate + Occult scores. If this check is not passed, Queen La’s spirit will take over, rendering the original character’s soul a passenger in their own body. This same check may however be attempted once per day thereafter to try and wrest control back from La, making her the passenger instead.
---Equipment---
Leopard Staff of Opar: +3 Melee, +3 Occult
Shaman Queen’s Vestments: +3 Persuade, +2 Intimidate, +2 Prevent Harm

Well, "fish" IS a rather broad category. I suppose we need to nail down what traits all fish have (would that be anything other than gills and being really good at swimming?) and then come up with clusters of traits and stat adjustments for all the different kinds of fish....sharks, for instance, would have significant Brawl and Intimidate bonuses while having Persuasion penalties because nobody likes sharks except fro other sharks and remoras.

Oh, and whales, we need to stat those up too.

>>36793306
>>36795646
Remember that Opar was once Atlantis' sister city, and that IF Behemoth does exist, it's going to be nearby.
>>
>>36796228
>>36795646
>>36794625
Okay so she definitely has more magical powers than I'd thought she'd have. Serves me right for not watching the source material beforehand. I'm also noticing that I'd forgotten to change her class to "Shaman Queen" or something from Demagogue as well. My inclination here would be to simply restat the Leopard Staff of Opar to replace the +3 Occult score +4 Ranged and treat her spell-flinging as standard ranged attacks. Also, seeing as how she can apparently teleport as well, we could add the following Power to her repertoire:

Teleportation: Spend one Will Point. This unit may teleport one Occult skill check's number of feet while in combat.

Also: Has there been any discussion as to what the Leopard Men of Opar are like as a people? Are they all just generic mooks and henchmen in Queen La's thrall as seen in the show, or are we construing them as having an actual culture with men, women and children as per >>36783878 ?
>>
>>36796245

If not a sister city or an ally, it was perhaps one of Atlantis' enemy targets in their great primordial war. Who's to say whether the Behemoth was trying to protect the city or destroy it.
>>
>>36796342
>>36796245
I'd personally say we should leave the behemoth up to the GM. Put something vague about it in the canon, maybe stat it. That way it's the GM's call if it's a cool backdrop/setpiece or an actual plot element.
>>
>>36796342
>>36796245
>Opar was one of Atlantis' enemies during the Great War, and the Behemoth was sent to wreck their shit, which it did very, very well.
>Opar's last true Kings use their own form of sun-powered Crystal-Tech to defeat the Behemoth, sending the construct into repair/hibernation mode.
>Everything but the innermost precinct of Opar's capital city is completely destroyed, and the beaten nation is slowly reclaimed by the jungle.
>An entire jungle's worth of huge trees and dense foliage grow from the ruins of Opar, rooting the Behemoth to the ground and burying it under greenery.
>Some time later, a young Shaman discovers the remains of the once-great nation and uses her powers to take control of the populace.
>>
>>36796365
Oh, it's definitely a GM's discretion sort of thing. It's something fun to talk about and to stat, but it's DEFINITELY not what you'd call "Hard Canon" in any way.

Rumors, myths and speculation.

But moving back on topic, did we ever "Hard Canon" fluff the Opar Leopard Man civilization?
>>
>>36796460
Perhaps the Leopard men are the remnants of Opars army? After the death of the last true king, the once great legion of leopard men created to protect their realm eventually degraded to their current state
>>
>>36796506

I'm inclined to say that the Leopard Men and Women are the remnants of the city's original civilization as a whole that have fallen back into a more primitive way of life after WHATEVER happened to Opar happened.

After that, La just swept in and took over through her charms and magics, not really caring to restore the city or its people to their former glory.
>>
>>36796563
If I remember my E.R. Borroughs Opar is inhabited both by animal-men and amazons, the former being reduced to their state by magical pollution and inbreeding. In the cartoon however it turned out they were just regular leopards transformed by one of La's spells. In the books it is also said pretty much directly that Opar was an atlantean colony.
>>
>>36796613
Thanks for bringing your knowledge of the original books to this matter! I think we're going to be best served here with a little mixing and matching of influences plus a little invention of our own. It's worked well for the other nations. I have to step away for a while but will post when I can.

Hopefully discussion can continue

>Overwhelming Brawn: If your Robustness exceeds your opponent's Robustness by 3 or more, decrease the threshold to deal extra physical strikes by 3 so long as they are dealt with Robustness.

I'm surprised no one have commented on this. Are all the crunchfags busy with exams? Anyways, a question I'd like to ask about proposals for Intelligence, Sensibility and Charisma. Combo and Overwhelming Brawn are based on having better Agility or Robustness (respectively) than your target. However, that's in physical combat where strikes can be both dealt and resisted by Agility or Robustness; social strikes can only be resisted by Sensibility barring nonstandard circumstances (Occult+Charisma or Science+Charisma to scare people with magic gibberish or big fancy words? Can be resisted by Intelligence plus their respective skills. Robustness Intimidate? Can be resisted by Robustness)....so, what do I do? Should the Sensibility and Charisma traits be about having higher of the same attribute as your opponent, or the one that typically opposes it? In either case, would rerolls for resisting/dealing social strikes be a suitable bonus? And what the fuck do I do with Intelligence?
>>
So with Yamato how are we going to handle the Crabby Crew
>>
>>36797501
Human-crab chimeras. The real problem lies with how we're going to do the submarine itself.
>>
bump
>>
Tiny and Small fishes are going to need an Agility bonus, whereas Medium and Large fishes are going to need a Robustness bonus. What unique traits should all fish share? A desire for shiny things? They're going to have a trait that doesn't take up a trait slot called "waterbound" which vastly increases their swim speed, lets them breathe underwater, but have a VERY hard time moving above water. Should fishes have a bonus to Sensibility or Charisma? ((definitely not intelligence))
>>
>>36798061
If we limited ourselves strictly to predatory fish, only some of them are vision-based and would thus be interested in shiny moving things, while the others would be scent based and thus interested in anything the smells like prey. No idea about non-predatory fish. Damn, I do not know jack shit about fish.

Also, would an orca count for large or huge?
>>
>>36798061
Maybe we could leave them for the underwater expansion for the moment, since they'll have one hell of a hard time getting shit done on land. Anphibi on the other hand...
>>
>>36798253
We should have fish and whales up not necessarily as PCs, just so that the GM can throw them at the players if he wishes.

>working on whale template
>come to a snag
Toothed whales have echolocation, baleen whales don't. However, I'm not sure exactly what that should do, nor what the baleen whales should get. I considered raising the Robustness cap, but then I remembered that sperm whales are bigger than a fair number of baleen whales while still having teeth and echolocation.

I'm going to go walk the dog and see if anyone has any ideas by the time I'm back.
>>
>>36798989
I believe it was.
>>
>>36799094
That is a sticking point, yeah. What about giving whales in general that rule and making Blue Whales a special case with some other kind of drawback: such as being a blue whale and as such unable to fit inside pretty much anything at all? I mean if you pick a blue whale you're the toughest animal by nature of your size alone, and you get echolocation, but you're stuck waiting outside of every building, cave, or vehicle your party decides to go into.
>>
>>36799467
Tha's the main drawback of dinosaur characters, but they also get huge bonuses for it.

I really like your work. Your lines always match what one would expect from Disney, while your coloring is just different enough to be your own.

Two things I'd like to say to you. First, if you ever feel like doodling up Ziz like you did Behemoth, the fluff discussions make it quite likely that was either never built at all or never completed, so it might be cool if you draw him up as blueprints.

Second, what do you think of drawing characters DTP has run into after you're done their group portrait?

Exactly. You've just died. Have unfinished business? Want revenge? Need to say goodbye to a loved one? Want just one last amazing night in New Orleans?

This man can give it to you. He's got the power. Depending on the quality of your soul and how appealing a corpse you make, he can give you anything from a few hours to a few weeks' worth of time to do whatever it is you've got that needs doing. After that though, your body becomes his property and your soul is whisked away by his Friends to the Other side.

There are however stories told of a few men and women who have managed to trick this fellow, and who continue living their stolen half-lives in secrecy.

Not to aggravate anything and I know this has been brought up before but it didn't get any attention so Nobody, would you consider giving Pondrous some sort of romantic hook in New Orleans or something? Characters that are flirty or charismatic like Ryder are very Disney but actual traditional pumpndump bards really, really aren't. In addition, most people would probably be (rightfully if you ask me) mad if you let him screw one of the canon more 'chaste' characters like Rapunzel.

You say that

but disney has plenty of charismatic pumpndumpers. Disney shorthand for 'sleeping around' is dancing and romancing multiple women.
>>
>>36816332
I'd imagine that there could be maybe three clients maximum who have managed to escape "collection," but more than likely it's just one crafty man or woman who found a loophole or ran away before their soul could be seperated from their body. I included the possibility for PC or NPC use, but if the Necromancer lost his steady supply of souls or had a number of clients who refused to pay, that could be enough ruin his reputation with the Friends. I'd allow the PCs to attempt this plan.
>>
>>36816431
First, not as protagonists they don't.
Second, I'm pretty sure candlestick there is the only real example of someone following through on multiple romances even, and he's still hardly pump and dump. In addition, he's most certainly a background character. Disney is all about true love and romance, especially for their protagonists, not just fucking whoever is pretty at the moment.

Not at protagonists by the end, because the moral has to be that they grow into nice christian values. The point I'm making is that disney isn't afraid of casual romance as a theme - having a PC who plays the wide game is plenty disney so long as it's presented in a fairly lighthearted way and is a character flaw.

Also pirates of the carribbean is in the canon for this setting - which has a very different approach to that shit. One of the two examples I can think of that involves both disney and prostitutes.
>>
>>36816557
>naveen was pump and dump
Top lel. The second he entered into a Disney film and became a protagonist all those feelings disappeared in 30 minutes. It was also noted to be his literal primary flaw that Tiana fixed, along with his laziness. I'm also noting that protagonists can certainly start off with hedonistic values, but having them at the end is very anti-Disney, which is why I suggested a waifu in Orleans. The only light Disney has ever shown casual romance and traditional bards in is a very much negative one, and a primary point of new Disney movies is that characters grow out of their flaws.
Jack was more of a villain than anyone else in Pirates, reminder.

Of course, if he catches onto the PCs, he'll likely go to his Friends and say "Look, you're upset that you're not getting souls, but I have found out that someone is actively sabotaging our little enterprise here. I'm using all the resources at my disposal to find and eliminate them; I think it's in everyone's best interests if you forgive and forget these past few missing souls and seek out these saboteurs as well." That would make this route harder but not impossible for the PCs.
>>

Still, as much as it might not be Disney, you can't exactly force a player to romance an NPC because you think it fits your setting better. That's just bad GMing.

Pump and dumping traditional bards isn't lighthearted, though.
>>

The point being a character who's wining and dining around the ballpark isn't out of the ordinary for disney. It would be very disney if he then found a single chick who he fell for.

“I do hope this is important, Thatch.”

Imperial President Rourke drawled as be and Milo Thatch found themselves traversing another drippy, cavernous chamber, the older man paying no attention to the ancient beauty of the vast, colonnaded hall, not even sparing a glance at the mosaic of the constellations on the ceiling high above. Clapping one large hand on the Historian General’s shoulder, the older man spoke in that droll, patriarchal tone that he always used when trying to make light of something that he actually found deeply irksome.

“I get no more than three waking hours to myself a day, and instead of spending those three hours enjoying the Commandos game on the radio with a stiff drink and a fine cigar, you’ve got me tramping around in a soggy basement.”

Although he had been cowed by Rourke’s fatherly bullying in the past more times than he would care to admit, Milo Thatch had done some growing up in the twenty years since Atlantis had rose above the waves, and to his credit did not so much as flinch at the man’s cantankerousness or the weight of his heavy hand. Favoring his President with a look of hard-won authority, the bearded, bespectacled man replied in a voice that was steady and certain enough to quell Rourke’s irritability. For the moment, at least.

“Oh, I think you’ll find your time here in this “soggy basement” better spent once you see what I have to show you, Sir. And besides, Communications General Packard records all the games anyway.”

“Alright, alright, but listening to a prerecorded baseball isn’t the same Thatch, and you know it.”

Oh shit guys, I just realized something. I need to rephrase Overwhelming Brawn so that it doesn't stack with any other threshold reducing powers or else it could become TOO good.
>Overwhelming Brawn: If your Robustness exceeds your opponent's Robustness by 3 or more, your physical attacks score an additional Strike for every 7 point over the opponent's defense instead of every 10 so long as they are dealt with Robustness.
>Unnamed Martial Arts trait/power: Your Brawl attacks score an additional Strike for every 8 point over the opponent's defense instead of every 10
There, now they can't stack, crisis averted.

Well, might as well stat up some Shadowland villains....

Thank you, Knight. Glad to see that my character isn't being totally developed without me. Honestly, I'm surprised. Has someone been writing fluff for Armand without me noticing? So far, his romantic history is as follows: He talked to an Indian woman. That is all. Honestly, you all seem to have assumed a lot about my character that has not actually happened.

It's probably been a couple years since Chernabog mashed the timelines together, but before then it can vary wildly. I think Rourke's Atlantis was founded around the time that the world went to pot, but Shan Yu had been trying to reign in China for a good long while before then.
>>
>>36821340
A couple of decades, 30 years at most if I remember correctly.
>>
>>36821340
It varies from villain to villain iirc. The idea is that each has been essentially slotted into place at different times, allowing things like the Republic of Atlantis to grow and develop, but some places, like Arendelle, are less than a decade old. I think we decided this in a strawpoll a few dozen threads back.

>>36821348
That was intentionally overdone, yes. However, people seem to think that I have screwed the entire female population of the West, and then half the males as well when I ran out of women. Calm down. If there are issues in the campaign, we can work that out between me, Knight, Dread, Nob, Sverd, and Moss. Can we please try to focus on fluffing and crunching the setting as a whole, rather than the one campaign currently going on?

So, here's a topic that I don't know if it's been brought up before. Gargoyles. Obviously, since it's not a modern era setting, the Manhattan clan will still be frozen in stone, but this would be the prime time for Demona, the Hunter, and the three weird sisters to be out dicking around.

If they're used for the "modern" setting, then it brings far more to the table than just those three. Even if it was tossed into the standard setting, it would still open the door for Oberon, Titania, Puck, and any number of the fey children of Oberon. Bring it up to modern and you have The Pack, Stonemasons, Coldsteel/Iago, Thailog and the clones, Fang, The Illuminati and the list goes on. Take the supplementary material from Greg Weissman into account and you can also include a large force of planet-conquering aliens to the mix.

Gargoyles has always been a hard one, because whilst the show is in a modern setting, some of the villains were actually from the medieval period.

But since Charles Muntz is in (unless this is him in his prime, which it sadly cant be, because weve already made him senior) modern setts are awkward.
(Note: this is only regarding the splatbook/expansion, but making it sound like a meanwhile case)
i think its safe to say that modern america got decimated by old america during the yensid vs cherno calamity, and that modern refugees are scattered across the world, forced into culture shock. the few lucky (and rich) ones ended up in alantis or the hunters club (David Xanatos and Charles Muntz)
meanwhile the many unlucky have been caught and killed by the seas many dangers, put into slavery or killed if they reached shore. you can tell a "modern" by the strange nonsencial words they speak whenever they remember their home.

adding this splatbook means adding another 'bell' to this world, a strange one powred by magic known as "digital", in order to ring it you need to rescue at least 1000 modern and bring them safely to here, wherever "here" is.
sadly it is guarded by an infamous security network (tron anyone?) and a gigantic metallic golem filled only with hate (tis a sad day for the iron giant)

the medieval villains from gargoyles might have ended up in maleficients kingdom, probably as inner circle level commanders of the fae. though only recognized if you use the splatbook.

now people are going to ask "what about the tanks and nukes etcetc, surely radcliffe would have them"

the answer to that , is that before the old america collided with new america, new america was already under attack by, the iron giant.

the iron giant, forever thinking that garth was dead, became the being it was built to be. A destroyer. New America launched everything, tanks, bombers, battleships, armies you name it. it could not stop it. so they tried one last effort. by utilizing the same plan the now late lieutenant had used, they lured him into the sea and launched every nuke they had at it.
Whilst that part of the sea is forever too toxic and radiated to host life, The Giant still lived.

what Old america saw and conquered was not a thriving modern land, but an already destroyed one. futher fueling Radcliffe the 1sts motive of rebuilding this great america (freedom intensifies)

Radcliffe the 3rd recieved a note from the will of his father who had recieved the same from his.

"do not disturb the giant"

the giant, now resides in an coastal area featuring an abandoned arcade, with new VR technology at the time. its the only thing left that can remind him of Garth, so it forever grieves there.
in the same way as some villains are impossible to truly defeat socially, with this splatbook villain you have to.

once defeated, the heroes can enter the vr arcade, having to fight the monstrous Glitches and securitys known as Turbo and MCM. who have fought each other for seemingly forever. the cyberland is a chaotic realm filled with the most disturbing viruses on one side, and the bleakest killer security on the other. the heroes have to defeat both in order to get to this digitized bell, which will finally save the modern animated films as well.
>>
>>36831549
we can't really include the iron giant in this as if we did there wouldn't be a planet left

exactly
assuming he would continue on his rampage he would destroy country after country

but if the modern splatbook still has the older films, then where is modern france, russia, britain and so on.
the answer to that would be the iron giant destroyed all modern civilizations just before all disney films collided. assuming theres no-one left, it had an outburst of grief and realization (after all Garth told him never to kill, and what has he done, killed everything)
the hidden point is that what sparks iron giant to kill is seeing someone die and start grieving about it, inevitably the grief would be too much for him to even attempt killing.

its complicated, but the way to explain what would happen to Iron Giant is that he goes through every stage of grief except acceptance, with the outcome of that being he destroys modern civilization, cries about it, and goes back to garths hometown to grieve and shutdown. then after that the part of the whole calamity where all the animated villains appear in the same world.

it would explain why theres no modern areas around if all the animated villains appear at roughly the same time just after they won.

TLDR - Fuck me , making both modern and nonmodern worldbuilding make sense is hard
>>
>>36832374
Then don't. Gargoyles villains can still be medieval dudes who started moving in the modern age.
>>
>>36831032
it'd certainly be viable for the non-Disney supplement we're going to do eventually

>>36831549
>>36831888
>>36832374
my assumption for the Modern and Future stuff is that for most of it, it's not full on states or countries, it's mostly individuals and small groups, with the occasional city being nabbed as well, so for example from Gargoyles it's pretty much just New York City that got nabbed, same with a lot of the other cities from various Disney TV shows(the single largest area grabbed from modern and/or future times is the Hawaiian Islands, at least on Earth, with the Axiom and it's sibling ships roaming the stars, and Emperor Zerg ruling over a vast interstellar empire and beginning to look towards Earth)

also for the Giant, I'd suggest having him be post movie actually, and have one possible mission being gathering his parts to bring him back to full strength to use against some of the stronger Villains

The hunters should each have a base Protect Harm of about, oh, 20, and an attack method of 18-20 each, due to them having specialized equipment that should bring it to 21-24.
This means that their attack methods are going to need stats of about 12, and should have base stats of 10 in all other attributes. As for skills, they should have roughly 8 in Prevent Harm/Endure and their attack method, and ~7 in Travel except for Buledo and Fergus, who should have sub-6 Travel.

Thought I just had: if Facilier's dealings with the Friends is what voodoo really is in this universe, then doesn't that mean that Mama Odie might have, or at least once had, NICE Friends On The Other Side? We established many threads ago that there do exist small time Friends who aren't pure evil and will gladly take things other than souls for payment, and the Friends are supposed to be analogues of the loa, which included powerful beneficent gods, so I don't think good big time Friends are out of the question.

I suppose that these nice Friends wouldn't give you things or change things often; they prefer to teach, to enlighten, to help you help yourself. I'd also suppose that they've already helped Odie far beyond the point where she needs any more of their help on a regular basis. If she makes offerings to them now, it's so that they'll gaze out into the world and perform a random act of kindness for someone who needs it. She's probably making many of those offerings, given the state of the world.
>>
>>36834906
So an example of a beneficial friend would be Ulshavaras
>>
>>36835036
Never read Dresden, but from the google description I'd agree.

Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we established long ago that all Friends are powerless to do anything in our world unless someone makes a deal with them. If anyone asks why the nice Friends don't just help people free of charge, that's the answer.

Given how powerful Facilier and his Friends are, I like the idea of allowing the PCs to contact some ACTUAL friends on the other side to balance things out a little bit. It strikes me that they could be handled in much the same way as some of /tg/'s "Small Gods" threads are, where they have few if any dedicated followers and they help people out through little shrines hidden away in the bayous, deserted houses, lonely ceneteries and New Orleans basements. Little shrines where you could leave a coin or two, a loaf of bread, a bottle of beer, a poem scrawled in a scrap of paper or something and receive a small boon.
