You shake your head sadly. “I'm afraid I'll have to pass, father. As much as I'd like to eat with the family again, I don't want to raise any uncomfortable questions about my status or get the guards called to the estate. It would just be more trouble than it's worth, you understand.” Sad though it may be, you need to put your family's safety and reputation above your desire to spend time with them.

He nods solemnly. “I understand. It's for the best, just a shame it has to be this way.” With that, he slips out and closes the door behind him. Leaving you alone in his study. A significant show of trust, you can't recall ever being left to your own devices in your father's study.

You make a slow circuit around the room, stopping to stare out one of his massive windows. The sun is slipping below the horizon, casting the sky brilliant shades of red, orange, purple, and blue. The city stretches out before you, for miles in any direction. Millions of people, living their lives from day to day as best they can. It's strange to think that most will never know of the void, or of Surya's Heart. Most will never even encounter a spirit save in a bard's tale.

You turn, eyeing your father's desk briefly. You consider rooting through his drawers, but quickly decide against it. That would be horribly rude, and beyond that a betrayal of your father. Instead you make for the doorway. There's little for you to do here, but there might be some other room in the manse for you to find entertainment in.

You slip out the door, shutting it firmly behind you. You can hear loud conversation, the clattering of cutlery against porcelain, and laughter coming from the dining room down the hall. Fortunately, you need not pass that way to reach the courtyard. You turn to your left, making your way quietly through a seating room to a curtain which hangs over the back door. You push it aside, and slip into the courtyard beyond.

The courtyard is not so lavish as the gardens of the Shah's palace, nowhere near so pretentious, but it does feature a number of water features and a significant amount of foliage. You pass between two fountains, water bubbling up from the center in a slow, steady stream and flowing out of the edges into a basin below, which recycles the supply. It takes advantage of gravity to keep the water flowing. An ingenious little device.

Then you walk along a paved walk lined on either side by elegant, intricately carved columns. Great bolts of silk cloth stretch overhead, providing shade from the sun when such a thing is necessary. The walk leads you on a circuitous route around the courtyard, past a small grove of acacia trees and beyond a broad patch of native wildflowers; at this time of year many are in bloom. Purple, white, pink, and pale yellow bulbs seem to blanket the neatly ordered garden your family has established, honey bees drifting about sleepily from one plant to another.

Finally you find your favorite spot in the whole of the courtyard, an alcove half recessed into the wall, vines partially concealing the entrance. There isn't much light inside, but a snap of your fingers sets a torch burning. You slip inside, and make yourself comfortable on the bench within. You don't recall when exactly you discovered this little hide-away, but it's always been your favorite spot in the whole house.

You reach into your cloak and dig about, pulling out a few books and setting them out around you. Knowing your family, this feast may last quite a while. You ought to be able to get a fair amount of reading done in the time it takes everyone to eat, chat, enjoy themselves, drink to excess, make mistakes, get into a fight, and eventually stumble out of the foyer.

>>
You pluck up the Excidium and flip to the page you bookmarked. You read up a bit to remind yourself where you left off. Florius Vincius, either the protagonist or the author, you're still not entirely sure if this is a journal or a story, has been shoved into some sort of strange tube and their slaves have been slaughtered. You left off just as Rhynian soldiers were rifling through his and his wife's belongings, then there was a flash of light and 'a sensation of being ripped apart piece by piece'. You can't help but find the entire passage a bit suspicious, if you're being honest. Why would they wait to shove him in the tube if they were just going to kill his servants and loot his stuff? Seems a little pointless.

Regardless you flip the page and read on, finding yourself in a new chapter entitled 'The Exotic Provinces'. Finally, this is the entire reason you bought the book in the first place. Reading on, the author goes into great detail about how he seemed to arrive spontaneously in a strange land, put back together piece by piece after his traumatic experience in the heartland. He was pulled out of the pod by a Centurion who proceeded to run him through a gauntlet of questions to confirm his identity. Once satisfied, the centurion moved on to his young wife. The author proceeds to expound for some time on his wife's looks, describing her as of the highest beauty. He seems quite proud of her.

Finally they haul out that man Lutherius. You're still not quite sure where this character came from. He was introduced in the previous chapter out of nowhere. You don't think it's Florius' young son, he interacts with the man as if an old companion rather than as a father would a son. You actually haven't heard any mention of the son since the beginning of the book. Very odd, very odd indeed.

(1/4)
>>
Regardless, the party of three is led out of the tubes and into a room with a vaulted glass ceiling. All around them stretches the blackness of the 'Realm Beyond'. Stars glittering high above. The terrain here is described as 'rotted, the color of dried blood'. The author is also careful to point out towers which fill the valleys and the canyons, most collapsing or in the process of collapsing. Evidence of some ancient civilization or another. It sort of reminds you of the realm you've seen inside Fulvia's core. At least, the red Earth does. If the sky was red as well it would be a perfect fit.

They enter into a fortress and can no longer see the sky. They're lead down, down, down to an underground city populated by thousands. A vast industrial and scientific complex sheltered from the harsh climate of the surface. They're led through the city. Florius describes markets, brothels, bars, restaurants, and civic buildings in abundance. All of the materials, save stone apparently, must be imported from Rhynia. A costly, but worthwhile expenditure for the leaps and bounds researchers are making in this strange environs.

They're led into a lift, which takes them down a further dozen or so levels. The author isn't specific. When they exit, Florius is handed a key with a number on it while Lutherius is handed another key with a different number on it. The two part ways with some fond words and Florius proceeds to 'christen his new home' with the 'aide of his faithful wife'. You've a fairly good idea of what he means by christen.

The journal picks up the next day, his first day of actual work apparently. He's woken by the tolling of a bell from a device on his dresser. You've little idea how they managed to fit bells loud enough to wake a man at rest on a dresser, but they managed somehow. Florius rolls out of bed, pulls on a uniform, and turns off the bells. Again, you've no idea how one 'turns off' bells. Does one simply remove the dangling ball inside?

He stumbles out of his room, leaving his wife to sleep. The door closes automatically behind him. He seems quite impressed by this, as it's a new invention in Rhynia that seems to have already spread to the Exotic Provinces. He wanders about the lower levels for a while before some kindhearted fellow researcher, described as an ancient elf with a long, flowing beard and a head so bald one might see themselves in it as if a mirror, directs him to his work station.

The research he would be doing seems to pertain to the 'creation of a nonliving soul'. You're not... entirely sure how that works. You forced a portion of your soul into the blanket, thus giving it some ability to defy reality. You doubt that's what this man means. The way he describes it, it's like they're trying to make a golem so perfect it's essentially a human, indistinguishable from any man or woman on the street. Fulvia almost immediately comes to mind.

Just as things are getting interesting, a voice from the entrance to the little alcove you've hid yourself in interrupts your reading. “Mikhael?” A woman. Her head peeks around the hanging vines a moment later, to reveal your former betrothed. Vasuda. When she spots you, she smiles wide and pushes her hair out of her eyes. You feel your chest tighten at the sight of her, though you do your best to ignore it. “I knew you'd be in here! This was your favorite spot, even when we were little. Gods, I remember we used to spend hours in here, reading or making up stupid games, plotting world domination.”

She runs a finger along the aged stone of the wall, reminiscing so far as you can tell. You remember it well. She wanted to launch an invasion North and conquer the old Rhynian provinces while they were fragmented and disordered, then use the levies gained from capturing those settlements to launch a campaign against the Samrajya. You always thought it was a pretty good plan, if a bit bare on details.

She slips inside, taking a seat across from you on the stone bench which hugs the walls of the alcove. “Sooo... I wanted to talk. A bit. It's been a while, and after your banishment, well. I didn't imagine I'd see you.” She smiles again, though you can't imagine why. That hardly seems like a cheery sentiment. “But now here you are!”

You raise an eyebrow, curious as to just where it is she's going with this. “Indeed, here I am. Hale and whole. Is there something in particular you felt the need to discuss?” You don't mean to come across as cold, or uncaring, but you get the impression that's how she took it. Why must this be so terribly awkward? Gods, you'd rather go back to reading than put up with this uncomfortable atmosphere.

Vasuda clears her throat daintily. “Well, I was just wondering if-” She pauses, biting her lower lip contemplatively for a moment before sighing. “I was just wondering how you're doing. I spoke with that friend of yours, Darzi. The way she described you, well, it sounded like you were holding onto your sanity by a thread, and that's at the best of times.” Ah, thank the gods. She merely questions your mental health. That's far less awkward than the direction you thought this conversation was headed.

>You're fine, really. Darzi exaggerates.
>Honestly the stress is starting to get to you, but you hope to resolve the issue soon.

no, I mean something that does not use so much of the quest time. Making shorter updates or even completely skipping the synopses of the books read. I honestly do not care anymore.

Remember, quests are zero-sum events. If we dedicate so much fucking time to reading books we are taking away from others things. I noticed for a while now that we barely interact with our companions anymore. I mean, take SK, for example. Every since we returned from Namek, we barely talked to the guy. I have no idea what he is doing or what his plans are. We haven't yet gotten to know Mortia either.

It's reading books, mediating, reading books, meditating, and so on forever. This quest is starting to feel like a MMO with endless grinding.

>>36695046
real life books are great. Because you take the book and have entire thing, and can read the whole thing to the end. There's no set time that you can read it. There's is no risk that suddenly the book will dissappear forever. Do not think for one minute that this quest is going to have a satisfying ending. It is more than likely that it will get suddenly dropped like many other great quests do. And I don't care what Soma says, many other QMs said they would never drop their quests but then did anyway.

I don't want this quest to become about reading books and meditating endlessly.
>>
>>36695175
>Honestly the stress is starting to get to you, but you hope to resolve the issue soon.

>>

I'm pretty sure Soma agrees with you. I mean he always fucking interrupts our reading with bullshit like this. People barging in to ask questions and bother us.

>>
>>36695322
>cannot into reading comprehension
Speaking of books, you don't read much do you anon?
>>
>>36695295

Like I said before, I find the little mini stories when we read interesting, and they honestly don't take that much time, just one update at a time. That being said, I do think we should interact with our friends more, but that's also a choice, and if we decide to read then that time is gone, no matter how short the update time is.

Instead of trying to get rid of the mini stories, I'd suggest you're better off trying to get people to vote to interact more. We always have the option, we just don't always do it.
>>
>>36695343
Because Soma interrupted the reading, not because the reading somehow gave us this opportunity to speak with our betrothed
>>
>>36695354
To be honest most people want to get good quickly which is why they keep voting to read/mediate.

Is there a reason why this quest is inhabited with such insufferable thin-skinned shitheads?
Every time someone criticizes something doesn't agree with the way things are going there is a gaggle of assholes who do nothing but fling insults.

If you don't agree, just say so. At no point did I insult anyone who thinks otherwise why is the immediate response to act toxic and hostile?
>>
>>36695391

Well, that's their choice. Not reading a book isn't going to kill us though, at least, not more then anything else. Honestly, I think we'd get a lot more from strengthening our bonds with our companions then we'd ever get from a single book, but that's me.

I do admit I'll be sad if we lose a companion because we weren't paying enough attention to them, but that's life. Either way, I'll have fun.
>>
>>36695422
We are a fucking grandmaster water vatis, one of the youngest to achieve such a thing that we are aware of. We ain't scub. If you anons stopped flinging yourselves head first into stupid shit we could pace getting gud reasonably
>>
>>36695432
Its always been like that, hell reread any chapter where a choice people don't like wins or was a close vote wins, the whole thread is bitching about that one choice and votes are decided to spite the people who voted for it, instead of going with the flow and trying to fix things.
>>
>>36695432

Smart power gaming would be making sure that the bonds stay strong with our companions, and making sure we know what their buttons are. Let's be honest, maintaining and strengthening the connections we have with a bunch of powerful individuals(yes, even Prof) is about the best thing we can do in terms of power... You did read our description of what kept us alive on our adventures, right?

So, if people honestly think that "power gaming" involves going lone wolf and doing everything on our own, just point out that that's actually about the most inefficient way we could do stuff. If you're persuasive enough, then they might even come to realize that you're right. ... Personally, I'm not too worried about power gaming myself, so I'll just enjoy the quest whatever happens. Not to mention, the people we're most likely to lose due to neglect are the Namik people, and I honestly don't care if we lose them, so I'm set.

You shrug your shoulders. “I'm fine, I suppose. Am I stressed? Yes. Am I as lucid as I once was? Probably not. However, I don't feel that it's anything I can't handle and, besides that, I have a plan to deal with it. In fact it's the next item on my long list of things to do.” You cock your head to one side, thinking a moment. “Okay, not the next thing on my to do list. The thing after next. It's coming up, is what I'm getting at.”

She smiles and nods, but the worried look in her eye doesn't escape you. You decide a change of subject is in order. “How about you? How's that pompous ass I call a brother treating you?”

She seems to grow uncomfortable, shrinking away from you almost. “He's fine, a good husband. He provides for me. We've been trying to have children-” A wave of nausea crashes over you, but you suppress it. Gods, why do you even care? She's not your wife. “-but we haven't had any luck. I suggested adoption but, well.” She shakes her head, you can pretty much figure out that your brother didn't like the idea.

Alright, clearly this conversation is due for another change in topic. You've no desire to talk about the sex life of the woman you were supposed to marry. “Well, I'm glad to hear my brother is at least a good husband. I'm surprised he can do anything save manage funds and plot trade ventures, but why are you out here instead of inside feasting? I mean, I can't join the party. I don't want to cause a fuss due to my, well, unique social status. You on the other hand have no reason not to drink and be merry.”

She wrinkles her nose. “Ugh, you mean inside with all those sweaty old drunk men? No thank you. I'd rather have an awkward conversation with a childhood sweetheart than put up with those slobbering oafs.” You're not sure why drunks would be a problem for a married women, typically they're smart enough to keep their hands off lest. Especially when it comes to noble women, lest they wind up branded on the cheek and cast out into the desert to die.

“I don't recall you being quite so introverted when we were young. If I recall correctly, you went dashing about getting us into trouble only slightly less frequently than I myself did. Don't tell me you've mellowed with age.” Honestly, she really has changed. She wasn't nearly so timid, or so polite, when you first met her. Gods above, she's the one who taught you how to curse when you were little. Apparently her father had a sailor's mouth and she picked up a few colorful phrases as a child.

She smiles, you'd almost say regretfully. Perhaps it's merely in your head. “Well, not wholly due to age. Stress, responsibilities, those sorts of things.” She waves a hand vaguely. “What are you reading?” She ask, whilst gesturing to the cover of your book. A blatant diversion if there ever was one.

“A Rhynian book called the Excidium which seems to relate to a young Vatis who is transported to a strange land to do research on artificially creating a soul. Interesting stuff, quite interesting indeed. A little oddly written though. It's third person perspective and past tense even though, so far as I can tell, it's a journal. Not to mention it seems like some of the text is missing, which I suppose isn't unusual in manuscripts this ancient.”

She nods along, but you don't think she really understood the whole of what you were saying. “That sounds... very... well, it sounds like the sort of thing a vatis would be interested in. How about that?”

You nod. “An accurate description, I suppose.”

Silence. You find it hard to believe she prefers this to eating and drinking and laughing and generally having a good time. This is terrible. Stilted conversation, an uncomfortable level of intimacy, searching glances. You've no idea if she just half expects you to light yourself on fire and start screaming about Surya being your one true lord and the savior of all Samjan, or if she wants to say something but feels she can't. You're leaning towards the latter, but can't quite eliminate the former.

>>
You bookmark your page and slip the book into your cloak, sitting up a bit straighter. “Not particularly. I haven't exactly had much time for romance what with the 'trying desperately not to die' thing. It's a bit time consuming, and horribly bothersome. It sits at the back of your mind like some sort of malignant growth, eating away at you with worry.” That may have come across a touch harsher than you'd intended. “So no, I'm not interested in anyone presently. Perhaps at some point in the future when I've had some time to actually relax and get my head together.”

She stares at you wide-eyed. Like some sort of terrified animal. Really, it's the fear which annoys you more than anything. “What happened to you, Vasuda? I knew you as a clever, funny, and terribly intelligent young woman whom I fully expected to one day surpass me in both skill and importance. You were fearless and charismatic. Didn't seem to care about anyone's opinion save your own. I see you now and... well, you're not the same girl I knew. Timid, weak, overly cautious.”

You shake your head sadly. “What happened? Does my brother beat you? Were you raped? Spit it out, and get it over with, so it will stop bothering me.”

She seems to flit between a broad range of emotions. Anger, fear, shock, and depression amongst them. Were she to curl up on herself any further, she'd have her knees pressed against her chest. Eventually she seems to settle on shock, her mouth hanging just slightly open. It seems to take her an age to recall how to speak. “I don't, I mean, I 'm not abused or anything. Your brother really is as good a husband as I could hope for.”

You scowl. “I find that incredibly hard to believe, and I don't appreciate being lied to. I could think of a dozen better matches off the top of my head. Now, if you're not going to tell me the truth you can get back to your husband and your feast, and I back to my reading.”

She chews the corner of her lip for a moment, brows furrowing. “Fine.” She states, hesitantly rolling back her long, voluminous sleeves to reveal the swollen purple bruises which coat her arms. “Your brother detest me. I've no idea why. I make a single mistake, forget one task or another, and he hits me.” She rolls down the sleeve. “I'm sure it's just... something I've done. I've put on a bit of weight lately. Maybe he just doesn't find me attractive?” She shakes her head. “I just... I just want him to stop hitting me. I'm not asking you to spirit me away, just talk to him. You're his older brother, he should listen to you.”

You clench and unclench your fist, anger bubbling up like bile in your throat. Where as before you might have stormed into the house and hided the little bastard, now you find your mind turning towards careful, plotted revenge. You could hire a group of hooligans to break his legs. You could sabotage that trade venture he's planning. You could drag him into the desert and leave him to the lions. There are so many options. A world of inventive methods of torment or punishment available to you, should you only look.

Yet... the man is your brother. Not to mention, she's asking you to talk to him, not punish him. A conversation. It might take all of ten minutes, less even.

>A good beating ought to set him right, you'll need to find a band of hooligans to jump him.
>Oh, he'll get a beating all right. By your hands, none other.
>You need to step back and calm down. Surely you can set him right if you just talk to him.
>Poison slipped into a glass of wine will kill just as readily as a knife. You'll need to speak with Mortia or another alchemist.

Inb4 she's doing that to intentionally destroy mik's family. Also if it's real, we can do a much more greater damage. Try slipping him in the void cloak.

>>
>>36696322

I think one thing that Mik's been learning through this whole thing is that family are the ones that are there for you when your down. Vasuda might count as family by that standard. Our "brother"? The only bad thing about killing him is that it would make our parents sad.
>>
>>36696343
And that it would be a crime which we would likely be executed for.
>>
>>36696375

>>
You seriously consider poisoning him. You have the means, you could got a lethal dose of a very powerful concoction with but a word to one of your friends. However, calmer heads prevail. You reason that, in the event of your brother's death only days after your arrival back in town, you'd be a prime suspect. Considering your previous connection to his wife. Especially if the spousal abuse got out. Then you'd be under very close scrutiny. Plus, he is your brother. You're not sure you can quite stomach kinslaying, no matter how much you dislike the man.

You take a deep breath, in and out. The tension drains from you, slowly. It's almost like you're trying to slip into a trance, but instead of your consciousness fading away it's murderous rage. Once you no longer feel quite so furious you sigh, addressing Vasuda. “Alright, I'll talk to him. If that doesn't work-” You pause, letting a wave of anger pass. “-well, we'll just see. Lets hope a nice talk is all it takes to convince him to change his ways.”

You wave a hand absentmindedly, channeling a touch of magic to heal her bruises. The damage is quite a bit more extensive than your original, superficial assessment had implied. Two cracked ribs, and massive welts all across her back. You're surprised she's managed to walk and function normally this whole time, she must have been in immense pain. Just what does your brother do, take a mace to her?

She presses her hands against her ribs, her arms. Pokes and prods searching for any remaining aches and pains. Upon finding none she seems at a bit of a loss for words. Eventually she just smiles sadly. “You know, you always were too nice to me. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have ended up a Vatis. Wouldn't have been banished in the first place. Probably would've gotten married to some pretty girl and lived a happy life, raised a bunch of kids.”

(1/2)
>>
>>36696387
It really wouldn't take much investigating for us to come up as a suspect, and even less for us to be the most likely one. That's assuming we try something like poisoning him,
>>
You can't help but laugh a little at that. “Please, Vasuda. You're a wonderful woman, but I doubt you're nearly so responsible for all my misfortunes as you think you are. If it weren't for you it almost assuredly would have been someone else, or something else. I had the talent, it's simple as that. I would have been discovered eventually and things would have progressed much the same as they have. The only difference is I'd have one less friend to rely upon, should I ever need to.”

That seems to cheer her up, at least slightly. You're not sure why, it was halfway insulting. You called her insignificant. You suppose some people find comfort in insignificance. Fewer responsibilities. You can certainly understand the allure. You can only imagine how nice it must be not to attract the attention of every twisted void being and ancient demigod in a hundred mile radius.

You stand, and stretch some of the stiffness from your limbs. You seem to have passed a fair bit of time talking and reading. You can hear the boisterous laughter of drunk men fading off into the night as they stumble out the door of your family estate. It won't be long now before the feast is ended and you can rejoin your family.

Just the thought of his shit eating grin leaving him, makes me giggle like a school girl.
>>
I'm pretty sure that Salil hits Vasuda because he knows that she prefers Mik to him and he hates Mik. He knows that he's second choice as her husband, he got her only because Mik is a vatis and can't marry. Vasuda liked (likes, maybe even loves?) Mik and much less (or not at all) Salil. Envy manifesting as violence is a common occurrence.

From Mik's reaction (being relieved that the baby was not hers, "You feel your chest tighten at the sight of her") it's pretty clear that he still has feelings for her. Feelings that have never come up with Chryssa or Darzi or anybody else. So it might be in character for Mik to try to steal her away from his brother.

from ask:
How awful is pain+slow+permanency?
Pretty damn awful. Maybe worse than death.

Would paralyze+permanency put someone in a coma?
Not quite. They'd be frozen in place for the rest of their lives, still perfectly conscious of their surroundings. Basically a fate worse than death. Unless, that is, they knew both the Manipulate and Paralysis effects. Then a simple spell will set them free.

"Brother, just for you I will learn the Pain effect next"

By the way, if Salil has to die, we just need to have the next caravan he accompagnies have a small bandit problem... (or a dragon problem, but that will backfire as soon as people learn about Zahak). Nobody will be able to put any blame on poor Mik who lost his beloved brother and now has to take care of the widow.
>>
>>36696641
Honestly. If I had this sort of magics, and needed to kill someone without being found out. I would do just like I said. Delay, Selective, and Poison. With selective being used to specify a single organ. Namely, the skin. Now, that I think about it I should throw Slow in there, just to make it even more painful and drawn out.

But the point being, Your skin is your first defense, and one of the main things keeping you together. This leaving you MASSIVELY prone to infections, which will further complicate matters. They could be treated for those infection, but the underlying "disease" would still leave them vulnerable to further infection, forcing them into secluded and sterilized life. Not to mention it's fucking horrifying.

I will give you that doing Delay, Slow, Pain, Permanency could be a fucking great combination, but it only has the intended effect on a single person, because only the victim can feel the pain. With Poison everyone can see it. If they are a socialite or their livelihood depends on their appearance it ruins them even further than just simple pain.
>>
if you guys are going to threaten it would be better to threaten to feed him to the eldrich horror living in our cloak, with Ricky's tentacles slithering out for the added effect.
Even if the delayed poison would be far worse, Ricky is much more terrifying.

It would be good for kadir's PR "sorry I banished you bruh, thanks for saving my life, hers my cousin."
I am 100% not grasping at straws to get best girl
>>
>>36698718
I don't really think what you're saying is sure to work, and I don't think we should try just like that it'd also limit our adventurinng, I'd be 100% fine with having Vasuda and Darzi as our waifus, and Chrys and possibly Mortia as our mistesses if we could pull it off.
Who here voting to marry Ghada's next reincarnation when we meet and reaalize who she is?
To be honest, I think it wasn't the best idea to pull over our brother before the announcement.
I also hope Darzi is slightly runk, and I'd be fine with being her knight saving her from our brother's advances as well.
I really want to spend time with our family in general, get more cuddyl with our drunk Ma, talk and skinship with sisters, sibling time with brother, etc.
>>
>>36697878
We are a grandmaster water vatis, who is the father of a dragon and has a dead god inside of our head.

We could outright slit our brothers throat and then heal him constantly while letting him bleed out on the edge of death while giving a detached lecture about the importance of family and how we aren't going to kill him. And how family would never beat their wives. Then finish it by healing him up so there are no wounds at all, and detailing Vasuda's injuries, and then tearing off a piece of his soul and enchanting it into something. Then we can tell him that we'll be in contact with Vasuda, and that if we ever hear about him hurting her again then we will feed his soul to an abomination from beyond the void.

We can even tell him to try and ask a grandmaster Vatis about void creatures, so that he'll be able to see them shit their pants.

I think we'll be able to convince him to stay on the straight and narrow.

Ayways, he's still our brother, so we should ask him what the fuck his problem is, and maybe we can help him out. Is he or Vasuda infertile? Nature/Water Vatis time. We can even try to advance ourselves to the point we can help him.

Does he have something against us? Time to talk it out. If we were going to kill him, we would have already.

He's sick, no doubt about it, but he's still FAMILY.
>>
>>36698619

We could just get extra Shah points by quietly letting him know what our brother is doing to his cousin, and that sadly we can't do anything directly because he IS family. But let the Shah know we had a little "talk" with him, and that he should have someone keep an eye on his cousin.

I mean, the guy is a tool, but he obviously does care a lot for his family.
>>
>>36698718
>we could totally get Vasuda with our dads blessing.
Nope, Vatis "can't" marry legaly, sure we could take her as mistress and shit but since she's Kadir's lilttle sister it'd be creating some shitstorm neither of us would want.
Unless Kadir comes clean and says "yep Vatis now can marry and have kids", don't expect it.
>>
>>36699020
That stuff is way too brutal for Mik, magical human experiments are outlawed for a reason.
Just some actual talk, maybe getting our other brother involved, and a talk with our father should be enough.
If not, we can let him see first hand how ricky eats goats. I mean, like, push a goat in for Ricky, then stick our bro's head inside, and make him describe it aafterwards.
I mean, I would love to save Vasuda from this jackass, but I fear players wouldn't spend enough time with her, and its possibility as far as laws go, and the fact that it could possibly involve kinslaying.
Darzi/Vasuda/Chrys/Mortia/Fulvia(as maid) harem is a go.
I was surprised by how cold and harsh Mik was with Vasuda when asking her what was wrong, really quite aggressive to his childhood sweetheart. That insanity can't be good for romances with any amount of tension/problems.

Aren't banished people considered dead? Who says we're still a vatis? We could easily have that lifte and have some special position where we can do everything a vatis can but don't have the restrictions, if we play our cards right.
>>
Reminder that kadir can't say shit about who we marry if we go start our own empire, our land our laws. Raiding the elven lands would be fun too

>Aren't banished people considered dead?
They're considered clanless, which for Samjans, is than death
>Who says we're still a vatis?
Our name on the Master and soon Granmaster roster.
>We could easily have that lifte and have some special position where we can do everything a vatis can but don't have the restrictions, if we play our cards right.
Only Kadir can change the law, since he's the man in charge now. For him to do that would create some unrests the likes Obama created when he wanted to control guns in 'murrica, you want that shit to happens here? Where some people are walking WMDs(Shezade's certainly not the only one OP Vatis in the world)?

Eh fine, I guess having it lifted isn't an option.

And so, once again, I'd love to quote an ask I sent in to Soma but he hasn't answered it so
>We conquer Eastern Pidjata
>Become emperor, send expeditions to Eluadia for loot, get good tech and miilitary going
>Create Dual Monarchy with two kings kinda like AH but with two kings, or Alderode with kings instead of parliament
>make alliance, marry Vadusa to solidify relationship
>once Kadir dies without an heir from his sis murdering him and the country starts to escend into chaos, we ride in and claim the throne, take on the title of Padi-Shah
>We're the first Shah to unite the whole of Pidjata
>conquer the northern lands
>become ruler of the continent
Or, in light of this thread's content, do what Vadusa's plans were, conquer some northern provinces, use granted land to conquer Eastern Pidjata, become king, continue as previously described
It could be sweet if she remembers it.

>That stuff is way too brutal for Mik, magical human experiments are outlawed for a reason.

It's not an experiment, it's us saving his life after almost killing him in a rage.

Or do you mean the soul-stealing?

I meant the throat slitting to be exact. Don't call me a pussy, I was the one who brought up how to best torture people and Chrys's husband a long time ago.
I also feel the enchanting bit is not something we should do.
Like seriously, that is his soul, and he's family, no matter if we hate him, don't fuck around like that.
>>
>people wanting disgustingly weak used goods
She might have been good waifu material once, but she's shit tier now.

we can refit her better than she was at least physicaly, the "beatings", love taps, to some of us would only make her understood her duty as a wife.

I'll be honest, I don't think she's exceptionally attractive, in fact that picture looks almost uncanny and just weird.
Maybe it's just the clothes, I don't know, her eyes and mouth look too big for her head.
The picture Soma used for her before, pic related, was way better in my opinion.
I think this is her, anyway.
