Found this quest last night and spent the last few hours burning through the archives to be here. I gotta say, this one could really be going somewhere.

Looks like she knows about mechanical traps as much as mechanical locks, and also happens to know a distraction when she sees one.

You keep fighting with Ghost Swordsman, who's technique with his sword seems to exceed yours with your saber which puts him at a slight advantage until you strike his right leg with a foot attack, causing him to wince in pain, and then you dodge a claw-hand strike and slap Killer Erudite's arm with the flat of your blade, causing him to yelp in pain before cartwheeling in the air an landing on a different side of the rail, kicking Cruel Scholar's right side!

You backflip down, landing on the safe tiles, and infuriated at you cheaply striking their injuries they follow, also landing on safe tiles with a safe distance between you all!

You shake your head and start laughing again.

"Also?" you say pointing up at the balcony with your blade. "Might want to make sure you leave someone standing up next to the trap trigger, where obviously you'd all be closest too."

They all look up to see Hong Lan, who gives a little wave with her fingers..and pulls the big, obvious lever they were standing in front of.

There's a loud click beneath the floor, followed by a click behind you as Zhu'er's and Lei's binding unlock, dropping them on the floor. When they rise up they look rather cross with the trio.

"Might want to make it so that the bindings and traps are on different systems too," you suggest.

They realize they're suddenly BADLY outnumbered, and seem to all decide to run at once!

His eyes are so completely devoid of anything resembling mercy or pity, and burn with an intensity so great it's visible even in the dark.

"The only real question is how long do wish to wait for death; until the courts get done processing your cases after several years with possible repeal....or right now, in the cruelest, most painful way you can imagine?"

They freeze in terror at Steeleye's vicious, unrelenting gaze.

Guys, I'm legitimately worried about waifu-ing more than just Zhengzhu, Zhu'er, and Lan. I just get the feeling that three wives is the upper limits of what Sky can reliably keep from breaking into kung-fu duels... even assuming he is able to get them to agree to be his wives in the first place. While we have Zhengzhu and Zhu'er (probably) firmly within the nets at this point, Lan still clearly needs to be worked on. Fortunately the upcoming duel and aftermath will give us plenty of time for that.

It's really too bad, because I especially like spear waifu too, but I just don't think we can push it much farther than two Young Heroines and two (maybe, at least one, but zhu'er is clearly important) princesses. We should probably settle for what we have going right now and not try to overreach.

She just has this hesitation problem, a slight delay in pulling her moves off. If she got rid of it she'd pretty much be dominating you in this fight.

Even as it is every time she perfectly pulls off a specific form you loose your blade!

In effect her Internal Arts are at C-, so while she's powerful she's not as "strong" as you qi-wise, but ALL of her External Arts are at Rank B.

The fifth time you loose your sword you're pretty sure there's less hesitation in her movements, but you aren't sure.

You're pretty sure you can see holes in her defenses and can adapt to her tactics, but she always ends up beating you so fast that you can never EXPLOIT them!

If this were a serious fight you'd have won several times over, but only by inches; if your "winning" strike didn't take her down she consistently wouldn've torn you apart!
