The next morning...

You wake up in your bed, lying on your side, without much room to move, turning your head carefully you see your three wives lying in bed with you: Isla is cuddled up behind you, her head resting on one of your wings, using two of your wings as a blanket, her arm around waist. Sofia is lying face to face with you, her breath tickling your nose and Jal lies on her front in between you and Sofia, one arm wrapped around each of you. All three are asleep. You lay there for a while trying to convince yourself that this isn’t a dream. Romance wasn’t a goal of yours when you first became a paladin, you only wanted to serve, even now as a saint, a goddess, you still think of ways to make everyone’s lives better. Still, you look at the slumbering forms, you deserve a little happiness yourself...

Rising carefully so as to not disturb your wives, you look around for a robe or gown to wrap around yourself, ah there’s one under the dresser.

“Now there’s a sight” quips a Sofia in a sleepy voice as you retrieve the robe “Your lily white rear sticking up in the air, hmm, where have I seen that before?”

Blushing you retrieve your robe and stand up, trying to keep as much dignity as you can you say “Good morning Sofia, I trust you slept well?”
>>
“Like a log” she says, a satisfied smile on her face as Jal and Isla begin to stir “Not surprising since you managed to wear all three of us out.”

You struggle to think of a good response to that as Isla and Jal regain consciousness, and look sleepy, but happy to see where they are, and who they’re with as they wake up.

“What’re you doing standing over there?” asks Isla, holding one hand out to you. You chuckle and join your wives in the somewhat dishevelled bed, also someone broke one of the bedposts, you don’t recall how that happened.

The four of you lay on your bed, curled up together, warm blankets pulled over you as you talk about the wedding, and the night before, eventually the conversation drifts around to another topic, one that keeps coming up...

“So did yerself and Isla decide about kids last night then?” asks Jal, all innocent curiosity.

“Ah no” you say with just a hint of a blush “We had other things on our minds.”

“An on yer hands, an on yer lips, an on yer-” Says Jal before Sofia hushes her.

“Is this really the time to discuss this?” asks Isla, looking a little nervous.

“We are all together” says Sofia “in private.”

“Yeah” says Jal to Isla with a sly grin “Now’s the time, not planning on breakin’ yer promise are ya?”

“No” says Isla slowly “Of course not”

“Well then” says Jal, snuggling up close to you and resting her head on your shoulder, never taking her eyes of Isla “Now’s your chance.”

“Here it comes” murmurs Sofia, well that doesn’t sound ominous...

“Sireyi” Isla blurts out “I want your children, a-a-and, and I want you to have mine, ours at the same time.”
>>
In the silence that follows, Islas face goes red and Sofia adds “Whilst the delivery could use a little work, Isla is correct, Sireyi we each” she points to herself, Isla and Jal “feel ready for another child, and” she continues with a wry smile “we don’t want to deny you the wonders of experiencing morning sickness yourself – so we’d like you to bear a child of all four of us, I believe you can do that with your powers.”

“I can” you say, as you think about this “but what if something happens, what if I get called away on a mission? What if the Lord of Life attacks?”

“Yer mam can step in fer ya” says Jal “Or yer other you, yer blue sis, besides” she indicates all three of your wives “Yer outvoted, we all decided on it.”

“Is this what you said about gathering allies?” you ask Jal, one eyebrow raised “Sounds like you wasted your time, you could have just asked me.”

She grins “Not the only thing I got ‘em ter agree ter, don’ worry, yer’ll find out.”

“Well?” asks Isla “What do you say Sireyi?”

Sireyi's mother is greater than her in power and has way more experience with the Lord of Life, Dark Sireyi has Deific Power and a large army, we have a host of angels that can do things, The Killing Frost only harmed us because we messed with it, we can no-sell any kind of attack on ourselves with a bit of Divine Energy, etc.
>>
>>36664082
>This isn’t the time
It really really isn't. We have a nation to build and a Killing Frost to fight and who knows what else. Its just not the time for Sireyi to get pregnant, some other day, but not in the immediate future in my opinion.

court mages with sleep spells overwhelmed us dude.

We didn't have Titan's Endurance, which explicitly allows us to ignore magical attacks for Divine Energy.

I'd be supporting the "At least wait until after the killing Frost" definition. So in a year or so.
>>
>>36664327
It's a tie with an outlier for killing the killing frost first.

>>36664334
He hasn't done shit so far. There's probably a reason for that.
>>
>>36664348
> for killing the killing frost first.
Which means waiting.

>He hasn't done shit so far. There's probably a reason for that.
That reason obviously can't be waiting for a good moment to strike, like you know, when the baby he wants to murder has actually come into being. He can't prevent us from getting pregnant, so obiously he needs to wait until we actually are pregnant with that baby before he can kill it.
>>
I'm interpreting the vote for waiting until killing the killing frost as *not now*.

If that's not the intent, please let me know and we'll try a final destination vote.
>>
>>36664348
>There's probably a reason for that.
...The reason obviously being because he needs to wait until that kid is actually in our womb?
>>
>>36664390
that's what I interpreted it as but I'm be happy with a second chance to get a baby!
>>
>>36664298
>I doubt he can do much in our realm due to Sanctuary 5.
No just kill lots of other people.
>>
>>36664390
I don't see how that could possibly mean anything but "not now", seeing as how the Killing Frost is not dead now.
>>
>>36664387
>Which means waiting.
Not everyone wants to wait the same period of time, some people want to wait until after the succubus kingdom is fully established. Killing the Killing Frost could be done in a few weeks.

>like you know, when the baby he wants to murder has actually come into being.
>The baby
It was three, Milerna and Viviken are two of them and he's has ample opportunity to strike.

Maybe the god of battle with a legion of war-angels that hates demons on the best of days isn't letting demonic assassins walk around on his plane.

>>36664404
>The kid
See above.
>>
>>36664428
>Killing the Killing Frost could be done in a few weeks.
Which is still not now, which is all we voted on.

No, he doesn't have ample opportunity to strike currently. But with Sireyi pregnant he would have.
>>
>>36664390
Hey Pally, are we going to kill the killing frost during the time skip?
>>
>>36664428
>Not everyone wants to wait the same period of time
We are not voting on that, so it doesn't matter how long we wait, we will decide that later.
>>
Ok, going to be a slight delay as I haven't finished timeskip update, might be 30-45 mins.
>>
>>36664513
We're time skipping this thread?
>>
I'm kinda surprised we didn't get the vote on Sofias and Islas pregnancy, they had both asked us for it.
Does that still come?
>>
>>36664453
>No, he doesn't have ample opportunity to strike currently. But with Sireyi pregnant he would have.
Because we're in the Stronghold all the time, and we're definitely going to be there 24/7 while we're managing a succubus kingdom. It's not any *more* risk, it's just a risk in a different, equally terrible direction.

Even when pregnant, Sireyi is still way harder to harm than anyone else, doubly so now that we have Titan's Endurance.

>>36664513
Are we going to receive an opportunity to revote on this matter after we kill the Killing Frost?

We better kill him either before the timeskip or very soon into it, otherwise cancel the timeskip immediately.
>>
>>36664513
I didn't know we were time skipping. By how long?
>>
>>36664524
Yeah, the vote was kinda odd. I had expected to vote on who gets pregnant, not that they would put Sireyi on the spot like this.
Although I had expected that to come up during the night, so its a bit odd all around.
>>
>>36664553
Three years. During which it has already been confirmed nothing major is going to happen and it's just us setting up the succubus kingdom.
>>
>>36664549
>Sireyi is still way harder to harm than anyone else
But the baby might not be, which is the exact damn issue. Seriously, thats the damn problem. You people keep thinking only about how invincible Sireyi is, but never about how vulnerable others are.

>Because we're in the Stronghold all the time, and we're definitely going to be there 24/7 while we're managing a succubus kingdom.
No we won't? We will travel a whole lot while building a kingdom. So yes, she will be more vulnerable.
>>
Can we redo the vote to just decide who gets pregnent?
>>
>>36664566
It wasn't confirmed at all. Only that we don't act in that time. And realm finances are put on ice to finance the succubus realm.
Major shit could be happening all around us. The LoL isn't just going to sit this out.
>>
>>36664604

No. Sireyi needs to experience it too.
>>
>>36664604
As I said last times, I wanted Sireyi not to be pregnant now because Sofia and Isla wanted children, so I wanted Sireyi to be unburdened to protect them.
So I would hope we still get to decide that. Unless they didn't want to carry them from the start.
>>
Ok, to clarify:

Yes, the vote was sprung on Sireyi by surprise, deliberately by her wives.

I was planning to timeskip 3 years, during which time the Killing Frost issue would be addressed, the succubi kingdom settled and a few things happen with NPCs.

However, if you would rather play through and not timeskip, I'm willing to do that too.

Would you prefer to keep playing from this point and not timeskip?

Y/N
>>
>>36664566
So the killing frost won't attack during those three years. Does that change anything?
this thread is off to a good start. I can't tell what we're doing and what's going to happen at the moment.[\spoiler]

>>36664666

The question on everyones mind seems more to be
>Can we still impregnate Sireyis wives?
>>
>>36664583
That was pretty obviously sarcastic, anon.

>You people keep thinking only about how invincible Sireyi is, but never about how vulnerable others are.
Because there's no way a child would be safer in our womb, with our two-digit natural DR and ability to no-sell any form of physical or magical attack. They'll be just as safe in the wombs of any of our wives, with their physical frailty and *being the very people you're complaining about us forgetting the vulnerability of*.

>No we won't? We will travel a whole lot while building a kingdom. So yes, she will be more vulnerable.
I was saying that Viviken and Milerna have been and will be vulnerable, even moreso in the future. He only needs to kill one.

>>36664614
I doubt OP would be a big enough douche to kill our kids in a timeskip. And he's not gunning for us, why do you think he considers us such a massive threat? He sent the Killing Frost out of spite for us escaping him. Even the Killing Frost is more fucking around with his eternal winter shtick than going for us in particular, he only attacked us when we started messing with that.

>>36664652
We won't be around to protect them.

>>36664666
I'd like to vote again on whether Sireyi or her wives should get pregnant after the Killing Frost is dead.
>>
>>36664756
>We won't be around to protect them.
We are literally a telepathic message and a teleport away.
>>
>>36664666
N
Fine with getting everyone pregnant after the KF issue is resolved.
>>
>>36664756
>Because there's no way a child would be safer in our womb, with our two-digit natural DR and ability to no-sell any form of physical or magical attack
We have no idea how these things translate to our child, just because we can'T be hurt, doesn't mean the fragile fleshy thing in us won't be.
And our wives WILL be in our castle constantly sorrounded by protections.
>>
The vote was intended to cover all the pregnancies, the option to change the terms was to allow you to pick and choose who was, and was not getting pregnant.

That's my fault for not being clear.

Given that right now, Sireyi is not getting pregnant but some players want Isla, Jal and Sofia to, I'll take a new vote.

Who is getting pregnant?

Isla?

Sofia?

Good point, I'll try this conversation in character.

Going to post an update with Sireyi asking for explainations. PLease wait patiently.
>>

>Well, if she doesn't, she could say no.
Sure, its just really weird to just vote Yes, without actual input from the characters.
>>
>>36665082
I read the vote as being whether Sireyi is willing to knock them up or not, not whether they say yes. We can't (or at least, shouldn't be able to) control their actions.
>>
So if Jal wants a kid would anyone vote no?
>>
>>36665108
Well the question was literally "Who gets pregnant", so...
>>
“That’s something that I should get time to think about surely” you say, blinking in surprise “I mean, There’s the Killing Frost to deal with, the Lord of Life, we all have threats to our lives, not to mention Hanandrirac, are you sure this is the right time?”

“Yes” says Sofia firmly “Sireyi, there will always be threats to our lives, our children, if we’re going to wait until all dangers have gone, we’ll never have any children other than MIli and Vivi.”

“They’re not ordinary dangers” you point out “And besides, I expect I’ll have the Killing Frost dealt with before the end of the year. I can’t risk a childs life by carrying it myself when I have so many enemies, and I could get badly hurt the next time I go into a fight.”

“Have there been many ordinary dangers in your life?” asks Isla, you quirk an eyebrow at her “What I mean” she continues “Is that anything dangerous enough to threaten you, is going to be quite unusual.”

“True” you concede “But still, I don’t even know if you want children, or how many, or when.”

Sofia and Jal both look at Isla, who blushes “Yes, now, please” she whispers, her face going red.

“And you two?” you ask Sofia and Jal. They share a look “Perhaps one more” says Sofia “I’d say now, but I’d want a child when you have one too” she says “and I see your point about enemies, I suppose.”

“Yeah” says Jal “what Sof said” and crooks a thumb at Sofia.

Seems Isla wants kids now, and Sofia and Jal are willing to wait until Sireyi feels the time is right for her to have a child.

When Sireyi carries a child, would a battle in which we take no damage still be at risk of losing the child? Would whether we lose the child or not be determined by a roll (probably Constitution)? Would Healing help avert such a thing?

>>
>>36665319

She will never be able to then, because there will always be a new enemy to smite. Like the giants from another plane.

>>36665310

What are the worries for that? Nothing wrong can come from it.
>>
>>36665276
Because there was definitely war coming, and we don't really need to pretend this is like CoC with the Broodmother perk and a stack of Ovi Elixers.
>>
>>36665310
>When Sireyi carries a child, would a battle in which we take no damage still be at risk of losing the child?

Yes, level of risk depends upon stage of pregnancy and how much physical effort/stress is involved.

Would whether we lose the child or not be determined by a roll (probably Constitution)?

Most likely, yes.

Would Healing help avert such a thing?

Yes.

Will call the vote in a few, but Isla-only is a clear winner so far.
>>
>>36665341
>Nothing bad can come from it.
Yes, because we want to fight the Killing Frost OUTSIDE of winter.
Because that makes sense.
>>
>>36665341
>What are the worries for that? Nothing wrong can come from it.
The worries about the Killing Frost and other confirmed threats.

Accelerating the pregnancy, we just don't want to, and it's possible our wives might not want to either.

If you need to rush, you probably shouldn't be bringing a child into the world in the first place.

>She will never be able to then, because there will always be a new enemy to smite. Like the giants from another plane.
We have significant downtime between major antagonists.
>>

>Offer to give someone a child (all three, Ilsa first)
>>
>>36665403
Yeah, I mean, when I voted for "Not now", I kinda meant, when we don't have any immediate threats like the KF to deal with.
So I figured we get a chance for kids at quiet spot inbetween.
Honestly, I think if it would have been "soon" instead of "right now", it would have turned out different.
I fear her wives shot themselves in the foot with their rush tactic.
>>
>>36665448
They probably did, yes.

Hopefully OP will give us the chance to vote if Sireyi (and therefore Sofia and Jal) should become pregnant or not at the point when the Killing Frost is dealt with.
>>
Ok, Isla-only, writing.
>>
>>36665448

Not really. We've been postponing this decision for a long time, and marrying and rescuing Sireyi's mother always came up as excuses.
>>
>>36665514
No. Sireyis mother was the reason for not wanting marriage and the ensuing wedding night.
Sireyis possible pregnancy wasn't adressed in story at all until now.
>>
>>36665276
I know that. Assuming a month pregnancy Isla should be on done before we're looking at any problems and yes I know I'm being over worried but IC we have no promise that nothing will happen and it is still a good idea to have someone who can reach the floor when the others have their bumps.

“Very well” you say “I’m in too high a risk of getting hurt right now to have a child, and” you look at Sofia and Jal for confirmation “I guess that leaves both of you out as well?” Sofia and Jal nod in confirmation.

“But you” you say to Isla “are willing to have our child now?”

Isla looks down, blushing “yes” she says, looking to you for approval.

“Well then” you say with a smile, laying your hands on her “I just have a few questions: Do you want a boy or a girl?”

“Either” responds Isla.

“Do you want them to be angelic in nature?” you ask

“I guess they will anyway...” she says hesitantly.

“Normally yes” you say “But I can make them just human if you’d prefer?”

“Oh no” she says “An angelic child is fine.”

“Do you want to pick what colour their hair and eyes will be?” you ask

Isla shakes her head.

“And will they be just from the two of us” you say, “or will they have more than two parents” you indicate Jal and Sofia with a nod of your head. The three girls discuss it then agree that this child will be just yours and Islas.

“And lastly” you say “Will you carry your child for the usual time, or do you want me to speed things up?”

Isla looks indecisive and then says “the usual time, unless there’s danger.”

Writing Islas terms.

I just updated the rules pastebin with new Sanctuary rules, character sheet to follow shortly. Reposting in thread in case anyone is interested.

Sanctuary: You can cleanse an area around you, removing evil magic and influences, increasing the healing speed of all within its area and warding it against evil creatures. This lasts as long as you remain within the Sanctuary (or choose to end it), though you cannot regain Divine Energy spent upon this power until the duration ends. The Sanctuary is a fixed location and does not move with you.
If you create a sanctuary and evil creatures are already in the area then they make a Willpower roll with a +10 bonus against the DC to enter the sanctuary: if successful they are unaffected, if they fail they must immediately attempt to leave the sanctuary by the shortest route possible. They will not take suicidal risks to escape (such as jumping off cliffs) but they will attempt to leave by the shortest route possible.
The Sanctuary power treats creatures that detect as evil (such as demons, some types of undead) as evil even if they aren’t evil.
Demonblooded and other mortals with *evil* supernatural heritage may be treated as evil by the sanctuary, or they may not – the stronger their supernatural heritage, the more likely they are to be so affected.

So how is this timeskip going to work?

Is it just going to be you glossing over the events of the years or will important things be represented by in-character segments, interactive or otherwise?

A good question, I was just going to give a summary, but if players want to pick and choose what's going to happen, I'm ok with that.

Interactive timeskip?

Y/N

Y means you'll get to choose what you do in response to certain events.

The formative years of the nation is when we st up the infrastructure and administration.

The moment we have people, thes epeople will need guidance and goverment, so they will need steering. Where to build, what to buld, how to deal with problems arising. It will need plenty of steering in that time.

“Alright” you say to Isla with a joking smile “brace yourself...”

---

You wake up alone in your bed, a rare occurrence. You stretch out your arm, searching for Isla to cuddle in the warmth of your blankets. Your questing arm finds nothing. You raise your head, blinking blearily and looking around your bedchamber, not seeing Isla.

Ah now you remember, she’s away in the Republic of Gorim helping the citizens there, you feel a momentary pang of pain as you recall your battle against the Killing Frost....

---

After your honeymoon, as autumn was drawing in, you decided to do something about the Killing Frost. You found it in a land far away to the north, a land covered in ice and snow, devoid of life, animals and plants alike locked in ice.

With your allies at your side, and your powers stronger than ever you knew you could defeat the Frost. You broke into its lair, after battling past ice elementals of al kinds and beheld your foe, a living snowstorm.

“Why do you come here?” it asked you curiously.

You tried to negotiate with it, explain that what it was doing was killing everyone, that it didn’t have to listen to, didn’t have to obey the Lord of Life. It just laughed at you.

“I am one of the Three Sorrows” it explained “The only one free, if my brothers roamed this world I might join you to stop them, we always did fight for every life. But they’re not, it is I, and I alone that will extinguish all life on this plane.”

“Why?” asked Isla “Why are you doing this, why kill everything?”

“Because it is what I am” it explained “I was made to end worlds.” And then it attacked.
>>
>>36666390
>building things and almost nothing else
Because clearly people don't have conflicts, the building won't run into problems and no decisions will need to be made when organising over a milion people in building a nation from scratch. Clearly nothing of interest happens in such a time that can influence the direction of the nation later.

Don't be silly.
>>
You were so used to your powers, your new divinity shielding you, that it took you off guard with the intensity of its assault, behind it you realised a sickening truth: It had the power of the gods, just like you. You battled it as long as you could, long after your allies had fled to avoid dying. The icy fortress it had built crumbled around you, torn apart by your struggle, but in the end you were defeated, your powers exhausted, your flesh chilled and frostbitten, your blood painting the snow.

As you lay on the ice, the snowstorm approached you and shrank in on itself, becoming a roughly humanoid figure of ice and snow, walking until it stood over you “Now you die” it said dispassionately “small warm things, you always freeze and die, and my ice will cover this world, forever, and I will enjoy the screams of outrage from my brothers, as they realise I am now greater than they can ever be.”

“What gives you such power” you asked, buying time for your recuperative powers to work.

“The Lord of Life” it said, standing over you “has no need for the power it consumes from the gods it kills, but bolstered by such power, I can freeze the entire world.”

“I wonder” you asked, blood freezing on your chin even as your broken bones reknit and your flesh mended itself “what would you do if someone could hold back your ice and cold, how would you kill them?”

It grins, the smile of a creature with no warmth or empathy it in “Not possible” it said.

“Wrong” you replied as you unleashed your Sanctuary, channelling your own deific power into it. For miles around ice cracked and broke, living green shoots forcing through the snow, life thriving as the frozen grip of the Killing Frost was broken, its magic wilting and failing in the face of yours.

It turned its head back and forth looking around in disbelief as though it cannot comprehend what you did.
>>
“No, NO!” it bellowed in rage, ice and cold spreading it from it, trying to suppress your powers, neither of you could gain an advantage and eventually it realised this, advancing on you in a rage “I’m going to kill you slowly” it promised as it advanced on you.

“Not today” you managed to force a smile as you called down the lightning and teleported away.

It was clear that defeating the Killing Frost was not going to be easy, you

Once it became clear that defeating the Killing Frost would be a major undertaking you decided to stay away from it until you could build up your deific powers from your worshippers. You know you’ll face it again one day.

Although that was an important event in the years that followed, it wasn’t the only one. Grax, Twoblue and Demihydria all left the main Keep of Dalvin.
Grax seemed happy, having trained under the captain he wanted to join the Dornmer military, or maybe a mercenary company.
Twoblue, after it became clear Matthias wasn’t interested in her, went back to the spider village.
Demihydria simply left one night, a note left behind saying that she had been summoned back to the fae court: they hold to their bargain, but have yet to appoint another ambassador or other representative.

Wegenthal, Bokin and the Frost Giants became more distant, they began to avoid your new nation, bad memories of demons you suppose.

You could let them go their own ways, or you could track them down and talk to them.

Reducing to yes/no vote due to number of characters involved.

He doesn't vote for Demi, but he explicitly mentions a *druid* being useful. As Demihydria is the only druid, one can logically conclude he intended to vote for seeking her out, making Demihydria 8-6 in favor.

And it would be completely within Sireyi's character to make an effort to bring them in and help them overcome their apprehension instead of just shrugging and going "oh well, what can ya do."

God this entire thread has been such a clusterfuck it was physically painful to read.

Not you though Pally, you were great as always.

What makes you think she didn't try and simply failed?
Clearly they didn't leave from one day to the other, and probably explained their reasoning.
>>
>>36667885
Maybe she did try that and got the vibe that it was just making them feel bad to reject her attempts and they already felt bad about avoiding her nation solely because of demons but they weren't going to budge and she decided to stop instead of making them feel even worse for no gain.
>>
>>36667885
>people don't vote how I want them to! How dare they!

Except for the intial mess, this goes okay. Its a bit very dry I suppose, but its basically a cleaning up before the hiatus, so I think thats okay.

Uhuh... and I'm sure Pally just completely failed to mention any such thing.
IF you read the vote
>Y means you talk to them and (in conversation) have the option of trying to keep them around.

It clearly shows a Y vote has us go and talk to them. While a N vote has no such thing.
>>
Grax has obviously moved on with his life, you bid him a fond farewell and tell him he’s always welcome in your domain, a sentiment echoed by Sofia.

Demihydria disappeared in the middle of the night, so you didn’t have a chance to say goodbye, she left behind a few broken hearts behind her in the guards. You consider going after her to ensure that the fae aren’t mistreating her or plotting, but in the end you decide against it.

Likewise you felt conflicted over Wegenthals decision to move his clan further away from your new nation, but you understood the reason behind it. You just wished he could see that the succubi have fled the same sort of demons as the giants have, they have more in common than they knew.

As Twoblue prepared to leave, you went to see her in her tower room all covered in spiderwebs, packing her few possessions into a bag made from webbing.

“So this is goodbye huh?” you say, startling her.

Twoblue spins around and upon seeing its you she relaxes “Yeah” she says.

“So why the change?” you ask gently.

Twoblue shrugs “Grandmother wanted someone here to make sure you weren’t going to sell us out, but I think she trusts you and Baroness Sofia enough that I’m not needed.”

“And is that the only reason?” you ask the young girl.

She looks conflicted and then says “Well, there’s also Matthias.”

“Ah” you say “Are you and he..?”

She shakes her head sadly “He won’t even look at me” she says “Him and Jianxi are...well he has no time for me. I wouldn’t ask him to give up Jianxi, but he just says that they are happy.”

>I wish you luck Twoblue, don’t be a stranger (say goodbye and let her go)
>I’ll talk to Matthias for you, maybe we can work something out

“Matthias isn’t the only option” you say to the young werespider, “there’s plenty more men – and women – out there, if you want to find the right one for you, but you don’t need to if you don’t want to. You’re young and you have your whole life ahead of you.”

Twoblue gives you a sceptical look and hoists her bag on her shoulder “My job as an ambassador” she says “is over, the guy I want won’t have me, what more is there for me?”

“What do you want?” you ask her.

She shrugs “I dunno, I guess I’ll go back to the village, see how everyone is doing.”

“And after that?” you say

She looks thoughtful “I think Grandmother will find me a mate” she says “and there’s always things that need doing at the Hive. Why, did you have a job for me?” she asks you curiously.

Fellowship: You think Twoblue doesn’t want to go back to the werespider village, but is used to sticking by her family, no matter what.

Two blue considers your words for several long moments before saying “Ok, I’ll give it a try.”

“Glad to have you with us” you say, putting an arm around her shoulders.

---

Demihydria disappearing in the night did trouble you, at first you waited a few days, thinking it over, then you decided to go and visit the fae court to see why she left. You go alone, not anticipating any trouble, but the guards outside the grove of trees that house the fae court stop you.

“I’m sorry” says one of the guards “But the King and Queen cannot see you now. Please come back later.”

“I just want to see Demihydria” you say, the guards exchange looks, they’re uneasy “Demihydria is unavailable at this time” he says.

“Why?” you ask.

“I can’t say” comes the response.

“When can I see the King and Queen?” you ask

“They will be busy all day” says the guard, “come back tomorrow.”

“I really need to speak to Demi now” you insist, pushing past the guards. They try to stop you, but with your strength it’s a futile effort.

Even with a dozen of the trying to hold you back they can’t do much more than slow you down. One of them gets the bright idea of trying to stab you with his spear, and which point you give them all a low-powered jolt of lightning and walk into the fae court.

There’s not many fae in attendance today, just the King and Queen and a few advisors. Demihydria is nowhere to be seen and the King and Queen are conversing with...Isla?

No, that’s not Isla, that looks more like Isla used to look, a demonblood. In fact you recall seeing her before, in the Drowned Lands, under the command of the Lord of Life.

The conversation stops as soon as you enter, the Queen jumps to her feet “what is the meaning of this! Guards get her out of here!” You can hear more of the fae guards on the way.

The...other Isla turns to look at you, she looks surprised to see you, and maybe a little scared(?).

“She’s your enemy” says the Queen, remaining standing, and recovering some of her poise as the guards surround you. “Not necessarily ours, and Demihydria is...unavailable.”

“Why are you even speaking to her?” you ask “I thought we had an agreement, and what’s happened to Demihydria?”

The King and Queen have proven themselves untrustworthy allies, so they need to be removed from power and imprisoned at the very least.

If they're punishing Demi, I'm willing to be it's for something she did in our favor, like not kidnapping our kids or something equally nice. As a fae and a friend, she's the natural choice for who we should replace them with.

Alternative solutions would be creating a destructive storm over their forest and keeping it going until it's a wasteland, but I thought that might be too extreme. Also slow.

“I want to see her” you say “I want to hear her side of it.”

“She is our subject” says the Queen “you cannot see her.”

You’ll come back to that in a moment.

“And what has the Lord of Life offered you?” you ask.

“None of your busine-” starts the Queen, then the other Isla speaks.

“The fae were powerful once” she says, in a lecturing tone that is so familiar, and at the same time so alien to you “mortals ran and hid from them and only the servants of the Lords of Life were safe. As you speak you layer your voice with subtle tones to convince them of the truth of your words.

“Our ancestors thrived in the world ruled by such creatures” says the King arrogantly “We will be able to do so as well, will this creature try to trick us? I expect so – but its offer is still more attractive than yours.”

“Why?” you ask “What could you possibly gain from this?”

The Queen looks at you pityingly “You never understood us did you?” she says “We are creatures of the wilds, of the wilderness and chaos, the only bargain you can offer us is order and constraint, we relish the freedom we will have, even if it comes with risks.”

“Is there no way you will turn away from this path you’re on?” you ask.

The King and Queen share a long look and then the Queen says “Unshackle us, let us grow our forest as we will, and allow us full autonomy in dealing with anyone who strays from the trade route, and we will turn away the emissary of the Lord of Life.” It seems your attempt to persuade them had some success.

And the session ends there. Thank you for playing.

Next session will be in just over 10 hours, I will post a 1 hour warning via twitter. We will start with the battle against the fae, including options to summon in allies etc.

I apologise for posting ambiguous votes and choices, and thank you for your patience.

I really would like to get the planned 3 year timeskip done before putting Paladin of Joy on temporary hiatus, but I accept that may not be possible.

I would ask you as the players, how would you want a timeskip to run?

Purely narrative with me just describing events? (railroad-y as it might be)

Descriptions of major events with simple choices?

Or dropping into full sessions when key things happen?

It appears that we’ve had a mix of all three of these today, and many players want to play through events in normal sessions. I am willing to do this, but it will mean that Paladin of Joy will go on hiatus with a lot of things unresolved.

Or even no timeskip, just returning to a year-by-year list of tasks? Again, this will delay much of what I have planned.

Seems like the best to me.
In any case, thanks for running and have a good night.

This, at most. This was supposed to be a pseudo-epilogue timeskip, not another session.

I'd have preferred a full blown narrative timeskip, but certain key decisions can influence the timeskip a whole lot, and make great differences.

>Purely narrative with me just describing events?
We've just got to get on with it as much as I love the interaction.

So our imidiate goals nest session are:
>get rid of kind and queen.
>capture other Elsa (summoning azure empress may help)
> finding Demihydra
>deal with then leaderless fairy court so nothing bad happens to the innocents and they won't be a problem again.

I trust you.

How far did we deviate from your plan today?

Would Sireyi have found out the fae were conspiring if we were in full-narrative mode?

Would we have persuaded Twoblue to stay in a similar manner in full-narrative mode?

For that matter, would we have chased any of our companions? Would that event even have come up?

I'm getting paranoid that being on-the-rails will result in horrible things happening to people we care about off-camera.
