Iron body is unique and very different from hardening techniques in that it CANNOT be disrupted. They use qi outside of battle to modify the body to be permanently more durable. Rather than using qi inside battle to defend it

Just coming back to the "easily dealt with" Mr. Invincible there. You know, it occurs to me that he only landed a single blow on us at the beginning of the fight. After that, it was nothing but us delivering a massive beatdown.

Sure, we got fucked up -- but to an outside observer, it probably looked pretty dramatic and easy. I hope we didn't bite off more than we can chew with a showing like that.

They had grown to control or subsume nearly every other sect and group in the foreign lands they came from, and then had then come to conqueror the Wulin here as well. Their doctrine was cruel, and they killed indiscriminately. The Jianghu's southern regions were in chaos, and groups like the Miao joined the Cult's rampage. People wondered if they might threaten the Empire itself."

"The leader of a Wulin Alliance. He leads them in their time of crisis, fixing disputes and keeping it from falling apart once the threat was dealt with."

You're silent. You don't trust yourself to speak.

"Usually the Wulin Mengzhu is determined by senority, or clan importance. Abbot White Cloud of the Shaolin Temple refused, and then fell into arguments before Storm Dragon appeared. He claimed right to lead."

"...how?"

"Might," she says, her voice heavy. "No one knew him. He had no clan, no sect, no faction. He was unknown, and had no standing. Tang Laihu of the Tang Clan insulted him, claiming Renshu could lead the Wulin if he could defeat him."

She inhales before continuing.

"It wasn't even a fight. Tang Laihu was a mighty warrior, but Storm Dragon killed him in a single blow. And then...and then he told the amassed Wulin...."

That's the direction they came from. But they're a clear reference to the Ming Cult, which are a fictionalized portrayal of the spread of Manachaeism, which comes from Persia. So they might have gotten to the Empire by way of Khmer or Yuenan, but they originated in Persia. Of course, by the time they got here there probably weren't many Persians actually in their ranks. So I'm kind of right, kind of wrong.

He may have been out of practice since he was seeing to Sky's training more than his own. It was a trio of Grand Masters from what our dream/possible memory implies. Perhaps they are related to the Sacred Flame sect? Though Ba had no shortage of people who hated his guts at this point it seems.
