Hopefully 4chan won't shut down again on us tonight. Just to be safe, I've taken precautions and decided to run earlier.

Choking. You reach out to the window and try your best to grab onto it, with success; the window opens. You can see a pile of hay below. You can make it if you can get out of the window. The man in black drops his hold of you, and you fall, crashing into the bath water.
"Buddy Holly, now you will die."
He reaches for his belt and produces a dagger. It is engraved with many symbols that you have never seen before. He begins walking up to you.
Suddenly, you hear him cry out. He turns around, blood coming from his back. It stains the floor of the bathing room. Behind him, you can see Miranda and Assandra both holding their rapiers ready; Assandra's has blood on the tip.
The man in black raises his hand up and thrusts forward, and Assandra goes flying into the wall of the room; tiles break upon her impact with the wall. Miranda goes at him with her rapier, but he parries her attack and kicks her in the stomach.
The window is still open. Your longsword is across the room, and your hand is still raw and bleeding from the metal heating up on you before.
Are you going to try and help the girls who are attempting to save your life? Or are you going to leap out of the window and try to survive?

The Rules:
The official QM Twitter is @CitizenCFKane. Watch there for when a new thread starts.

Generally, the most popular option suggested by the people of /tg/ will win for the action taken or words spoken. However, occasionally dice rolls may be used.

Please be respectful of your fellow players and the GM. Don't be that guy.

Pop culture references are allowed, but an over-abundance of them will likely result in a lackluster experience.

The dice rolls will use the AD&D method. If attacking, roll high. If rolling percentage or a skill, roll low. The majority of rolls will be made with d20.

The highest of three rolls made after the deciding post is the roll taken.

Try to preform a sleeper hold on him.
>>
>>36630244

You get up, struggling to stand. Your legs are still weak and you've just gotten out of being choked. Still, you manage to stand and leap up onto the man in black's back, getting him in a choke. He's struggling against you.
"Miranda, stab him now!"
"I can't! If I stab him, it'll go through and hit you!"
The man in black continues to struggle against you. He brings up his dagger and stabs it into your arm. You yell out in pain.

>Roll 1d20. Aim low. CON save.

Tell her to stab him FROM THE SIDE.
>>
>>36630476

Well, that's a pass. I guess for these rolls I'll use lowest of 3?

Despite the blade sticking into your arm, you hold on. You hear the man gasping for air, but it isn't working. He soon falls to his knees. Still, he's trying to pry you off of him. It isn't working. He reaches for his belt and pulls out a small scroll -- really just a note. He presses his thumb against it.
A bright green light fills the room. Miranda and Assandra shield their eyes, and you feel yourself pushed back again, into the wall right next to the window. When the light fades, the man is gone.
As you recollect yourselves, you pull the dagger out of your arm. It seems like that arm will be out of commission for a little while; there's a lot of damage to it. But now you have the dagger. On one side, it has the symbol you engraved into your chest; on the other side, various strange symbols.
"What the hell was that!?" Assandra yells.
"Alchemist's Grove," you say. Then you begin to cough. Some blood shows up in your phlegm.
What are you going to do now?
>>
>>36630656

Go to the hospital.

And somehow get the dagger to the authorities.

Write a song about the battle.
>>
>>36630656
>>36630712
Sure.
>>
>>36630712

"A-are you okay?" Miranda asks.
"I need to go to get medical attention." You continue coughing. Only a little bit of blood comes up. "Assandra, take this to someone who can reach campus security." You stand up and limp over to hand her the dagger. Miranda helps you walk.

As the two of you make your way back to the medical area AGAIN, you start thinking up a song about what just happened. And he's back, he's the man behind the mask, and he's out of control... you'll finish it later.

"W-what are we supposed to do, Buddy? That guy was trying to kill you, and there are probably plenty more of them."

The healers sealed your wounds and removed several different kinds of poisons from your body. That's why you kept collapsing, because you were filled with poison, probably from the man from the 16th Note's dagger.

"Buddy, what are we going to do?"
>>
>>36630920

Fill in campus security and if they're not doing anything, kick their asses.

Then, we're going to heal. Properly.

Then we will challenge Assandra for dat sword.

At some point, we note that we're getting too old for this shit.
>>
We should get some boot knives if this shit's gonna keep happening.
>>
>>36630920
Go to campus security, ask for protection.
>>
>>36631027

The two of you go to the main office for campus security. Assandra is there with the dagger.
"Look, lady, it just looks like a dagger to me. What am I supposed to do with it? I'm not some kind of wizard who can cast a locate person spell using something that belongs to them."
"You mean you're not going to do anything? People could have died tonight!"
"Listen, I'm only two months away from retirement, okay? I been in this game too long. I'll post extra security around your friend but we don't have the funding or the time to go into a war with some league of assassins."

You walk up to the officer.
"Hi, I'm Buddy Holly. An attempt was just made on my life, with that dagger."
"Shit, kid, I wish I could help ya. With the legal disputes we're in right now the entire department is tied up. I can send one guard with you to be near you 24/7, but we ain't doing some kind of search party. Look, keep that dagger there and bring it to some kind of magic teacher or something. They'll figure out what's up with it, probably."

The three of you head out with an officer in full plate armor named Rolf. Rolf doesn't say much. He's in charge of making sure you survive and nothing else. As you walk, you talk to Assandra.

"You know, once I heal up, I'm going to beat you in that duel."
"You're forgetting who came in to save who this time, Buddy."

You've got the feeling you're getting too old for this shit. Miranda and you head back to the dorm room. Rolf follows you and stands guard outside of the door.
Being in bed is the best thing you've felt in a long, long time. Miranda puts her arm around you.
>>

In the morning your body aches, but it's still time to go to classes.
Your swordplay class comes and goes. Professor Miyazaki doesn't mind you sitting out, given your condition. It's a little embarrassing to just sit there and watch everyone else fencing. Then comes your music theory class. Nothing too difficult.

After class, Professor Roth talks to you.
"I heard you got attacked. What's that all about?"
>>
>>36631302
"Apparently the group that ran the club we shutdown is determined to kill me."
>>
>>36631371

"Apparently the group that ran the club we shutdown is determined to kill me."
"The Alchemist's Grove?"
"Yeah."
"What are you going to do about it?"
"Well, I have security now."
"Yeah, but this seems like a long term issue."
"I don't know. How am I supposed to find them?"
"You could always try and use a locate person spell if you have something of theirs."
"I have a dagger. But I don't know how to do a locate person spell."
"I do. Let me have the dagger overnight. I'll make sure you get your information."

Do you give him the dagger?
>>
>>36631643

Give him the dagger.

Also keep an eye on him in case he... backstabs us.
>>
>>36631643
Yes.
>>
>>36631697

"Sure. Thanks, professor."
You take out the dagger and hand it to him. Then you move on to your next class.

In Wilderness Survival you learn all about wounds. When a wound is infected, how to treat wounds, how to make a brace, and generally how to take care of yourself while in the wild.

Classes are over. Where are you going to head off to? You know Assandra is probably practicing her swordplay, Miranda is probably in the room, and the feasting hall is always open.
>>
>>36631762
Go back to our room. Miranda could probably use some more help with her studies.
>>
>>36631762
>>36631805

Go back to our room. Miranda could probably use some more help with her "studies".
>>
>>36631805
>>36631831

You head back to your room. Miranda is going over some vocal lines. It had been a while since the two of you played together. You start strumming the mandolin along with her voice. She really is a stunning singer.
Then the two of you play through a few more songs. You've noticed your mandolin playing has gotten a whole lot better. It's not even comparable to what it was before, and just after a month of going to bard school you've gone from being unable to play nursery rhymes to being able to play through most simple folk songs.
"That was pretty good," you say.
"We should be playing more. We could be making money off of this if we went into town and played at a pub," Miranda replies. "I-if that would be okay with you."
"Well, yeah, of course. That sounds great."
"H-how about tonight?" Miranda asks.

No doubt Rolf won't be a fan of this. Going that far means he wouldn't be able to call for backup.

Well, bard? How about tonight?
>>
>>36632096
"I think we should probably stay on campus for a while. In case the grove tries something again."
>>
>>36632235
"I think we should probably stay on campus for a while. In case the grove tries something again."
"O-oh, yeah..." Miranda looks down. "S-sorry. I should have known."
"Hey, it's alright. We'll figure this out and put an end to it somehow. I promise. There's no way-"
You hear a crash. Miranda falls back and hits the ground. She's gagging and gasping. There's an arrow with a note attached to it lodged into her chest.
Rolf kicks down the door and looks at her, then you. Miranda is still alive, but she's struggling to breathe.

What do you say? What do you do?
>>
>>36632359
Seriously?
>>
>>36632378

Yeah. For realsies.
>>
Stilll here player 2? Thoughts?
>>
>>36632359

Well shit, tell him to grab backup and a doctor.
>>
>>36632400
>>36632518
This I guess.
>>
>>36632518

"Go get help! A doctor!"
Rolf slams his fist to the ground and teleports away. You look over Miranda. She doesn't seem to be getting any worse. Based on what you know of human physiology, the arrow didn't go deep enough to puncture any of her organs, but she's not human. She's a half-elf. You look over to your bag. You just covered injuries in class today, maybe you can do something.
You grab some bandages and gauze and hold it around the wound, then pull the arrow out enough to look at it. Not serrated. You continue to pull it out and apply pressure on the area. Miranda looks up at you. She's slightly convulsing.
"B-budd-y-y-. The-no-ote." She stutters.
In a flash of white light, Rolf reappears with a healer and two other security officers. The doctors get to work on Miranda. You look at the arrow. No poison. Whoever did this, they weren't trying to kill anyone, just send a serious message.
The three security officers gather around the window and start surveying the scene. There are some trees in that direction.

What is your action?
>>
>>36632666
Read the note.
>>
>>36632694

"Buddy Holly,
It appears that you will not comply.
There is only one option: more will die.
Before you fall, you will suffer.
Those who you call friends and those who you love will all die.
There is no escape.
- TAG"

What now?
>>
>>36632754
I don't fucking know. What can we do? We barely know how to swing a sword or cast a spell and they're trying to kill us at least once a week.
>>
>>36632827
You break down crying in your room. What can you do? You barely know how to swing a sword or cast a spell and they're already trying to kill you at least once a week. Maybe you should have never lead that raid on the 16th Note. Maybe you should never have gotten involved. You're not cut out for this. You have no experience.
Professor Roth comes into the room and surveys the situation.
"Buddy, I found the guy you're looking for."
Miranda sits up, her wound being sealed by magic. She looks a little pale, but other than that she seems fine.
"The guy from the group of assassins?"
"Yes. And I believe it will lead us to where they are stationed. It's not far." Professor Roth goes up to the security officers. "Men, this is a matter of campus security and personal wellbeing. I trust you and any other available officers will be aiding us when we choose to strike."
"I'm going to be retiring soon," one of the officers says. "These guys had better not put up too much of a fight."
"Buddy," Professor Roth says, "Are you coming with? You don't have to."
>>
Rolled 1 (1d2)

>>36632999
1) Yes
2) No
>>
>>36633236

"Yes. I'm coming."
You grab your longsword and go along. Miranda stays with the doctor. You nod to her as you head out. Professor Roth leads the way, first to the security office to get more support. You now have 8 security officers with you. Then the 10 of you head across campus and go into the woods.

This is where I'm leaving it tonight.
>>
>>36633496
Thanks for running.

Just so you know, I wasn't trying to be flippant by rolling a die. I just couldn't make up my mind.
>>
>>36632999
> "I'm going to be retiring soon," one of the officers says.
This is deleted from my headcanon. Even as a joke, I can't deal with this stuff.
>>
>Be reading previous threads
damn tg, you are such a bunch of morons.
>Professor tells you that magic drug has 100% addiction rate and cannot be thrown off except via healing magic
>Blame girlfriend for getting addicted
>Tell her its her fault that people died (even thought they were completely unrelated to her)
>Break up with her when she was most vulnerable and needed you most
tg, I hate you. I gotta say that ruined the quest for me
>>
>>36636734
good thing that one retarded anons fuckups were retconned
