You eventually get your laughter under control in the wake of your mother's impromptu escape.
Nin can't stop giggling, though. That's probably fine.

You drag a confused Lann back down the tree, where your father gives you an odd look.

"Did I see Nia fly by there?"
You smile.
"Yes."
"And why was your mother leaping out of the tree?"

You gesture helplessly.
"I was asking questions, yes? She told me to ask you, then she-"
You flick your hands forwards a few times.
"-Jumped."

"She told you to ask me?"
"It must be elf things, yes?"
"Elf things. What in the gods names are 'Elf things'."

"The guards thought that Lann and I were together. Because we shared a room, yes?"
"Ah."
"Ah?"
He blushes slightly, a wry smile twisting his face. He shakes his head.

"When you're older, Lyra."
"How much is older?"
"Twenty or thirty or- Huh. I don't actually know how it works for arachne."
"Should I ask Mom, then?"

He laughs.
"No. I think I'll take care of it. Don't chase your mother with those sorts of questions."
"I wouldn't dream of it!"
He snorts, turning back to his books.

Well, that wasn't nearly as much fun. And you've still got time to burn.

Do mothfolk start as tiny little silkworms before they become moths?
Is that where they get their silk?

>Hunt a bit. Maybe you can set up a picnic tonight?
Its been WAY too long since we took on a megabeast. I want to hunt something HUEG and tough
>>
>>36605301
Damnit.
I needed our moth to have started as a little worm so we could maybe threaten her with baby pictures or something.

>>36605310
PRESENT HANDING OUT, I FORGOT. REQM, WE GOTTA DO IT

But elle isn't even here.
Shit.
>>
>>36605323
So the hunting option becomes, "Hunt Elle"
>>
>>36605323
Baby moths are tiny, have wet fluffy wings and can't fly for a few days.
>>
>>36605395
Still not as good as "Hey, remember when you were a little worm?"

Also I wonder if there's like a little girl face on a horrible worm body or what.
>>
Is it weird to me that we might leave the forest before we ever visit another arachne family?
>>
>>36605478
and by "is it", I mean "it is".
>>
>>36605478
Hopefully leaving the forest won't be in a long time.
I for one, think there is still a lot we can do here. Finding other forest races and visit our relatives most importantly.
>>
>>36605478

Arachne live plenty of places though. If we head to the mountains we might get to see flying spiders. If we go toward the desert, we'll find scorpionfolk. I'm sure the elf woods probably have tiny, fairy arachne.
>>
>>36605395

Maybe their life cycles begin as "eggs" which are actually pupai already in their cocoons.
>>
>>36605510
Cousins our mother has more or less no contact with aren't the only realtives that need visiting, you damn racist.

The fact that they aren't Arachne doesn't change a thing about us needing to scandalize our elven grandmother-, err, I mean, pay a visit to the family members one of our parents actually cares enough about to know the location of as soon as possible.

>>36605538
By the sea shores there must be some Arachne that practice making diving bells from their webs (we may learn something) or floating webs. And in cold regions the Arachne may have fluffier spiderbutts.
>>
>>36605604
While I agree with the sentiment that scandalizing elves is fun, I must point out that I am feeling pretty spider racist.

That weird kind of "Don't worry, little guy, I'll deal with it" racism. Like an adventurer would feel towards a village of gnomes.
>>
>>36605604
>aren't the only realtives that need visiting, you damn racist
Who said they were? They are however they only ones living in the forest.

>one of our parents actually cares enough about
Mom definitly knows where her sisters live, and Dad only knows where his family lived while he was still living with them, considerin he hasn't even told them about his marriage, he doesn't seem to care all that much.
>>
>>36605604
>aren't the only realtives that need visiting
Huh? What has that to do with things to do in the forest, our relatives on the father side don't live here. And considering Dad didn't even bother showing them his girlfriend and later tell them about his wife, I actually think his relationship to his family is not very good.
>>
>>36605642
>he doesn't seem to care all that much
You know how elves are, he probably figures he still got a few decades before it becomes awkward.
>>
>>36605659
>>36605642
He's an elf, though. Leaving home for a decade or so is nothing.

We know he left because he wasn't interested in trying to marry a noble or something, and wanted to explore, but I don't think he hates his family.
More that he just isn't concerned about them/
>>
>>36605734
Well to be fair, he is the guy who forgot to show up to his childrens birth from scatterbraindness, so he might simply have forgotten to tell his family.
>>
>>36605812

I wonder if he'll be haunted by that for the rest of his life. I mean seriously, that was probably the saddest moment in the quest thus far.
>>
>>36605843

With excption to the first post of the quest, it was also the only sad moment.
>>
>>36605843
Probably not.
We got over it pretty quick.
>>
>>36605843
I actually don't think so.
Besides Mom being pretty mad, our siblings didn't seem that bothered by it, at least outwardly.
And I still think most of Lyras freakout was because it brought up memories of her old life and her parental abandonment issues.
And that all seems pretty cleared up by now, so in a few years its something they will joke about, even if he will feel, appropriatly, bad for it.

>>
>>36605923
it's still up there, we can actually get that changed if you asked Lord Licorice
>>
>>36605843
I should hope he will feel bad for it at least, but probably not "haunted", our siblings didn't seem bothered by it at all so we can probably assume its not that big a deal for arachne, even if Mom was pretty mad.
At worst he will feel bad enough to actually stay in the nest for the next batch.
As if.

>>36605903
You can find it with the re-monster tag.

You'd rather not go running through the forest prior to your evening trip. Running around late might not tire you out, but you masy as well enjoy your time while you can. Sit around a bit, spend it with family.

Maybe Elle is rubbing off on you.

You snag a few blankets and set up shop next to your sister- Who immediately takes advantage by leaning against you as she reads. You roll your eyes and free the moth, leaving both hands available to unpack your latest set of goods.

A neat pile of paper is dropped between your sister and father, who probably won't notice them till they're needed.
Which works out fine, in your opinion.

You tuck the jar of ink next to it, and leave the rest bundled. You don't need to make a mess just yet.
You do, however, pull a piece of rock candy free, holding the glittering stick up with careful fingers.

"Nin?"
"Yessss?"
"Thank you for behaving yourself."
"What kind of servant would I be if I could not even follow the que-"

You put the candy in her mouth. None of that, thank you.
Sara giggles a bit, and Nin seems suitably distracted by her introduction to sugar. Yout turn your attention to your sister.

"How are you doing anyway, little mage?"
"I am studying, yes. There's so much to learn!"
She leans her head against your shoudler and smiles up at you.
"And how are you doing, giant spider?"

"I think we are all giant spiders, yes?"
"Dad is an elf."
"You know what I mean."
"Mhmm. You've been all over, yes?"

You give her a one armed hug, wrapping your limb around her waist and pulling her close.
"I haven't been in the nest too often, have I? There were the ruins and the smith and training and the village- I might be a little too busy, yes."
"Elle thinks you're a little crazy."

You look down at her. Shes got a little smirk going already.
"I am not the one who 'tests' things by throwing fireballs at people, yes?"
"I do not throw myself at giant monsters, yes?"
"I haven't done that in weeks."
>>
>>36605985

Sara gives you a look.
"You know exactly how many days it has been since you last fought something, don't you?"
"Absolutely not."
She laughs, shaking her head.

"Anyway, I am thinking that Elle believes most of the family crazy, yes?"
"You're probably right. And I am thinking that you didn't come here to volunteer for more testing either?"
"I will let you know when I am willing to be blown up again."
"No you won't."
"No, I won't."

You both giggle a bit.

Nin is sitting cross-legged in front of you, licking the last bits of candy from her treat.
"Are you enjoying that?"
"Itsssssssooooo good! It's like- I don't know! Plants don't taste like this!"
"Sweet. It tastes sweet."
"Can I have more?"
"No, you need to- Hmm. I don't know what moths need to eat to live."
"Candy!"
"Nin, lying doesn't work if you do it right away. And don't lie, yes? It's bad."
>>
>>36606001
Sara and Lann laugh at the moth as she tries to puff up her cheeks in protest, and you prod her face a few ties before turning back to your sister.
"I was going to take everyone to the waterfall tonight, yes? Do you want to come along?"
"Ah! That's not a bad idea at all. There's a few things to test- Maybe a star enchantment or-"

That's a yes, then. You let her ramble on about innate mana types and something or other magic magic magic. It's warm and you're feeling lazy- you let the soft tone of your sister's voice carry you off.

___________________________________________

It's the smell of food that wakes you up again. Sara's cuddled right against you, hugging you tight- comparatively tight. Tighter than Nin or Jin can, but less that Sheszka?

The rest of your friends have laid somewhere across or on top of you- Lann stole a blanket and is snoozing against your legs, Sheszka took the side opposite your sister, and your two flight capable friends have taken an eye socket each.

You can smell dinner somewhere behind you.

At some point when SpiderMom and ElfDad give us the Spiders and the Harpies talk, we have to, completely innocently and slightly confused mind you, ask our friends if they would be willing to help us make eggs later in life.

Just to see Mom explode into a thousand tiny spiderparts from the sudden bloodrush, and Dad faint.

I want Lyra to get up all stealthy like, and suddenly Sara or Sheszka grab onto her legs really fast and hard and end up with Lyra falling out of the nest.

Maximum Hilarity is go.
>>
>>36606328

Nah. Last time we rolled a 1, mom came along to help us hunt bears. Ironically, it was the first time we ever got close to being hurt for all the dangerous stuff we've been up to.

I find it funny that REQM was aiming for a kind of scary or at least somewhat lethal quest, but the dice just kept telling him no, leading to light-hearted shenanigans that have been so much more satisfying.

Anyway, time to burn down the nest.
>>
>>36606366

REQM was in the wrong for wanting a lethal quest when Spiderbutt is involved, he broke the law.

The dice corrected it via stealthy rehabilitation and some mild brainwashing.
>>
>>36606385
And if it was a lethal quest, then there wouldn't have been HEADPATS!

And that'd be just terrible. I'd go insane!
>>
>>36606366
>that have been so much more satisfying
Eh, some more serious challenge and sense of actual danger would be nice too. But it makes sense we don't have much of that before we leave the safety of the starting area.

And its not that he wanted a "lethal" quest, just one where a sense of danger was conveyed.
>>
>>36606395
Sure there would have been, lots of headpats and pampering of wounded spiderbutts.
>>
>>36606402
>send of actual danger
Agreed. Don't get me wrong, headpats are as entertaining for me as they are for every other anon but it was the danger that made this quest awesome at first.
>>
>>36606402

Sadly, the only being Lyra is neurological allowed to find terrifying is her Mother, and the only sensation she is afraid of is hunger and loss of headpats.

Death falls under the loss of headpats.
>>
>>36606402

Yeah. I meant more to say that he was looking to convey a sense of danger, as you've said. And I can sincerely appreciate that satisfaction comes from pushing yourself and fighting on through the possibility of defeat or while at the serious risk for harm.

Still, there are so many quests and genre games that go a little overboard on that. Suddenly everything has to be trying to kill you. Everything has to be gritty guts and gore, betrayals and hard decisions. This quest has been kind of therapeutic in a way, simply because it has been so idyllic, and so character driven.
>>
>>36606428

To be fair, we DO a LOT of dangerous shit, we just succeed so hard it doesn't feel dangerous despite the situations probably being enough to bring down a mildly experienced adventure party.

Like the Crab, or our first bear for our age, or the Dungeon Golems, or the Ruins, or the Lizardman army.

It's not there isn't any Danger, it's Lyra is just so Baller that it never occurs to us as dangerous situations.
>>
>>36606487
Man, I wonder how things would've gone down if we were a moth.
>>
>>36606487
Let's not forget our first lightning wolf. And the red gnomes when we were only two days old.
>>
>>36606515

We would have been Baller anyway, and have been Mothra, befriender of spiders, slayer of Bears, lover of Wolves, The Immortal Ever-evolving, Seducer of Cute Giant Spider Girls, and That Moth What Wear Plate Armor And Can Still Fly.
>>
>>36606515

Chemistry anons would have jumped on board and begun devious plotting for uses on moth dust. Plants would have become more interesting as would discussions about aerodynamic lift. Eventually, we'd pick up allies and spend half the game herding around our meat shields.

So basically, we'd be Nin without the queen obsession.
>>
>>36606454
I get what you mean.
There isn't really a lack of idyllic quests though. So SOME danger brings excitment into it.
Like the lightning wolf fight, which was dangerous as hell, and really felt like it.
Its not something that should be forced, but if we get deeper into/out the forest, I expect we will experience similar situations again were we get hurt, which I think is okay.
And seriously, who doesn't want a few scenes of wounded Lyra getting fussed over and cared for by her friends and/or family.
>>
>>36606542

I feel as though we would still possess a MASSIVE SpiderGirlButt Fetish.
>>
>>36606515
We'd be running around with our sister Nin, being crazy even for her standards, making chemical connoctions all day, befriend wolves and be mad crushing on our giant spider protector Aria.
>>
>>36606542
Also, We'd be the one getting headpats instead of the other way around. Pampered like a princess.
>>
>>36606574

>Implying we wouldn't be the one protecting Aria.

No one expects the tiny Moth to be the one that cuts you in half with a claymore.
>>
>>36606574
So we'd be getting petted then huh?
>>
>>36606553

It will happen, eventually. Probability says our spider butt will need a bandaid at some point, and I'm looking forward to it as a way for us to continue growing as a character. The dice will probably decide when the time is right. Until then I'm happy cruising along.

I do agree that I think the time's about right to move on to the next stage of the game though. As fun as spider butt shenanigans in the woods are, REQM has seriously peeked my interest in the rest of the world.
>>
>>36606590

I just pictured our hypothetical Moth-character as Saber.

It was a good image.
>>
>>36606595

I think most people are wanting to take it slow and lengthen to time before we "maybe" run into rape-goblins.
>>
>>36606590
Nah, we would be rigging the battles from behind the scenes, so Aria can feel like the big spider hero because its cute when she does, and Nin likes teasing her about being queenly.
>>
>>36606627
It had been said several times that there will be no rape-goblins.
I don't think many people actively want to take it slow, its just that we have always something to do.
>>
>>36606627
Even if there were rape-goblins in this quest, I think it would be cathartic to the people who know about those to give them the kobold treatment.

>>36606646

I feel that there's always plenty to do, no matter what, and I sincerely appreciate that. The forest isn't too much of a low level area, our entire family is here right now, and we are still trying to cement some solid relationships with our new friends. It's not so much that we would move on because there was nothing to do but because we wanted different things to do.

At any rate, it's likely that Lyra won't move on until after Mom and Elf Dad hit the road, which will probably motivate Aria to take off, Elle to head into town, and the brothers will probably start looking for their own nest (assuming they don't already have one). Until then, we are simply too content with things as they are. Once the family books it and we have a bit of quiet to consider what comes next, the road will become more appealing. That's when we'll move out and inevitably spend half a thread arguing about which next location is the most awesome.
>>
I almost wish we had chosen moth, now. It'd be adorable and we'd be the best manipulator. True queen of the forests, Aria would be just a figure head!

Oh well, I'd never actually give up the spiderbutts.
>>
>>36606777
Next quest REQM runs is moth quest!
>>
>>36606750
>At any rate, it's likely that Lyra won't move on until after Mom and Elf Dad hit the road
I actually don't think it will take that long.
Might happen around the same time actually.
I expect the question of where to go to come up after we finished the forest tour with Lann.
After that, I assume Lyra will make plans of where to go, which will give Aria the incentive to look for something to do, Sara might come with us, Elle will move into twon with everyone leaving and our parents will take that as their cue to hit the road again.
>>
>>36606801

And finally harpy quest?
>>
>>36606750
I actually always took it as granted that the brothers will stay behind in the nest until they find cute spiderbutts of their own and make their own family. Since no one else will be in the nest once Mom and Dad leave.
>>
>>36606801

I'm still partial to Saber/Nero/Morgoth Moth.

Because reasons, and cute.
>>
>>36606826
no, obviously it will be Ghengis Wolf quest. Become The One Alpha of the Packs and lead the wolves to establish an empire to rival that of the old people.
>>
>>36606842
Huh. The brothers are probably the most normal out of our entire family. Compared to other arachne, probably.
>>
>>36606842

I see them having already built a secret fort out in the woods for extended hunting trips. It's probably "crudely constructed" at best, a mostly hollowed out rotten log with some amenities stuffed in there that were either nicked from the nest or cobbled together from what they know of web crafting. A hammoc is sort of like a trap right?

Chances are they'll eventually take to staying there once Mom is gone and the nest is boring.
>>
>>36606872
I always took them as the example for regular arachne, since they tended to keep away from their scary stronger and bigger sisters, but seeing as how they are close to their first evolution already, it seems I was wrong there.
>>
>>36606884
Looking at their web making skills, I doubt they already can make a livable nest already.
>>
>>36606897

I don't begrudge them being a little special. It really sells how our family is abnormal and will make things more interesting later on down the line.
>>
>>36606924
>I don't begrudge them being a little special.
I don't either, it just took me by surprise, mostly because they really were behind for a long long time. I assume Dad coming home spurred them into action. Since they really took off after that.
Maybe he doesn't just spend all his time with Sara, I would hope.
>>
You're hungry.

And that means you're going to eat.
But-

Well, they all look so peaceful. You don't want to disturb them.

But yelling for food would wake them up. And moving would definitely-

Huh. Actually, you're crazy strong. You could probably carry all of them, no problem. Which means all you need to do is to manage it without waking anyone up.
Brilliant.

There's a little whispery voice in the back of your head telling you that you're an idiot, but you write it off. You can do this!
A bit of wiggling frees you arm from Sara's grip, but there's no way you're getting her arms off your wait without waking her up. You lean towards her, feeling each of your friends shifting with you, and wrap your arm around the spider section just behind her body.

One down.

Sheszka, you just hike up under your arm. Easy as can be.
And Nin and Jin are already stowed. Four for five and you've just started.

Which just leaves Lann.

Only you've got no more free arms. and she's over there leaning on your legs.

But she's kinda wrapped in a blanket. Maybe you could just- score! You gently lay her down, and hook her blanket with one careful foot. You stand up slowly, Sheszka floppily lying on one side, and Sara's legs dragging the ground on the other. You turn, keeping your balance as best you can, and snag Lann's amateur sleeping bag with a back claw.

You can just slide her along behind you. It'll work.
>>
>>36606955
You look up, and find your whole family watching the Lyra circus, your Mom holding up her chin with one hand, your brothers chewing whatever they caught as the look on. You smirk.
You've got this under control. You step forwards, friends in tow.

No, wait. There it goes.

Three of your legs are caught in a blanket- The spike pulling it taut in every direction. And Elle must have been the one who made it, because it isn't going anywhere.

Betrayed by your legs themselves, your face shifts to an expression of horror as you begin your slow motion descent.
You tug frantically at the blanket as you start to fold forwards, hefting your friends higher to keep them from hitting ground- YOu get a leg free, then another!

Your limbs shoot forward, splayig against the ground, but it's far too late- this is inevitable now. It cannot be stopped.

You face plant into the circle of your family, spilling drowsy monsters in every direction- Sheszka is underneath you, trapped by your arm- Nin and Jin roll free from the sockets, dropping neatly into place on either side of you in the circle.
Sara is on top of you somehow. You're not quite sure how that happened, but you're currently eating a facefull of super concentrated web nest, so that's probably normal.

And you managed to spin Lann like a top, leaving a dizzy, disoriented elf to take three staggering steps up before falling onto your new pile.

And with them all awake, everyone starts squirming and trying to escape all at once.

And then your family starts to laugh.
>>

Everyone just pretend I didn't trip.

"Will you be taking it on the road? Perhaps you can entertain in inns as you travel?"

You purse your lips, and try your best to glare at Mom, but she just laughs harder.

Oh yeah, keep it up. You know who bailed out of the nest instead of answering questions. She'll get hers, alright.

Your friends all laugh in time with her, which really isn't helping. Godsdammit.

I really like this setting. You can make so many different kinds of the same species of monster, which is great for having unique characters and enemies.
Take harpies for example:
>Hummingbird harpy
>Peacock harpy
>Vulture harpy
>Siren harpy
>Benu harpy (Egyptian version of the phoenix. Main difference is that it looks more like a heron)
>Stymphalian harpy (Carnivorous man-eating birds that could fire their feathers like arrows. Hercules had to kill them as one of his twelve labors.)
And I'm certain some of them evolve to have metal feathers. Or wraith-like smoke from them.
All those possibilities from harpies alone, and so many monsterfolk we have yet to meet.

I mean, she's fantastic at military action, but her regency is about half past mad in peace times. Something about rooms filled with pillows and hats being outlawed. "Ah, Elle?"
"Yes?"
"We were in town earlier, yes? I picked up a, a thing?"
"A thing?"
"I forgot the word. To make thread?"
"A spindle?"
"Yes. That one."

She's excited at least. And distracted. And smiling, now.
"Thank you!"
"I am fairly certain it is your money, yes? But you are welcome."
She laughs.
"It is much easier if I do not have to go to town, yes."

You nod, and the conversation around dinner drifts. You take control before Mom says something again.
"Dad?"
"Yes?"
"Ah-"
You glance between him and Lann, who looks at you curiously.
"If it isn't rude? What's the difference between elves and half-elves?"

>>

"Mostly life expectancy, ear size. Elves would rattle on about magic and spirits and all sorts of nonsense, but it's never been proven."
Your friend looks surprised, putting down her little plate and turning to him.
"What, really?"
"You've heard differently?"
"Of course. All that stuff about mages and just elves being... better."

He shakes his head with a sigh.
"We live longer. That's it. We have more mages because we live longer. All the rest is just made up, for the most part."
"For the most part?"
"I think elves are a bit faster, to begin with? More so compared to humans, and less so compared to the half-elves, of course. But it can be made up with training, hard work. And the rest is just people trying very hard to feel superior."

"That's all sorts of... I don't even know."
"Yes."
"Ugh."

But you have an idea- Sara will be doing studying, no doubt. But you could have a picnic! Blankets. Raw, bloody meat. The stars above!

Your family disperse, and you pack up your friends. Stars await!

I tried to. The chance to roll a 1 is 3/100 (three rolls of 1/100), so it should be (3/100)^3, right?
>>
>>36609240
Close, it's (1/100)^3

so 1/1'000'000

One in a million...

>>36609240
No, it'd just be one in a million.

1/100 to the power of three.
>>
>>36609385
>>36609412
Not the original anon, but that's for rolling 3 consecutive 1's. In this case we're rolling 9 dice and asking for the case where 3 of them are 1's.
>>
>>36609385
>>36609240
The chance not to roll a 1 as any of the three rolls is (99/100)^3. Therefore 1-((99/100)^3) is the chance to roll at least one.

That's 0.029701, so there's roughly a 3% chance.
>>
>>36608910

The horror of the darkness was actually just an interesting misinterpretation.

The old monster kingdom would not go out under new moons as molemen would finally come up to the surface, just about anywhere they could and often being squished under the larger monsters. In the interest of good relations and not accidentally killing anymore the Queen decided it be better to stay in on such nights.

Because children tend to not listen it was deemed better to tell horrifying tales than the truth to keep them in doors. However once the kingdom fell no one could tell that last generation the truth. So the legend persist

You set a course for the river- it's easy, clear, and there's pretty much no way to screw it up and miss the waterfall.

The faster you get away from your mother right now, the better.
The last few minutes weren't the best.

"-Ah, well. It isn't new moon yet, so you should be fine, yes."
"We'll be careful."
"Well...."
"Yes?"
"You're bringing so many blankets, yes? I am just concerned, Lyra. What if one to attack you?"
"I'M LEAVING NOW"
"Hehee- But Lyra! You keep them so close to your spear- They could betray at any moment!"
"GOODBYE"
"Have a good evening, little one."
"LOVE YOU!"

Aaaaaaaagh.
You can never screw up. Ever again.
Everything will be perfect forever and everyone will forget this.

You're halfway to the river when Nin rises up out of her cubby, and sits at the edge of your skull. You throw a glance over your shoulder and she meets it with a smile, her little hands rising through the curtain of your hair to brush at your head.

It doesn't feel bad, by any means. But it isn't the whole squeaking/wagging or luxuriously sleeping beneath someone's hands that you've seen either. It's just pleasant. Being close to people- Physically close to people is something that came with the whole spider business. And you have no interest in losing it.

"Is that good?"
"Mmm. Thank you, yes?"
You can practically hear her frowning.
"It should be better."
You chuckle a bit, keeping your pace as the trees thin and the river emerges.

"Maybe it is just the antennae? Jin and Sheszka like it when I rub their ears. Or feather tufts. Are those ears?"
"I don't know? And it isn't just the my antennae. It feels... good. Very good. All of it."

>>

Yes, exactly.

Stop having fun being a disappointment.

She drops off the skull and stands on your midsection, trying to get a better angle to knead at your scalp.
"This isn't working!"
You shrug, keeping steady so she can stay on her feet.
"It feels good, Nin. It isn't something to get up in arms about."
"What does that even mean?"

"Ah- Arms is another word for weapons, yes? So it means that it isn't something to fight about."
"Huh. That's kind of confusing."
"Language is kind of confusing."
"Mhm."

She leans back as you walk, studiously thinking.
"Maybe this, then?"
"Maybe whaaaaaaaaa-"

She strokes your ear.

Her fingers delicately sliding across the top sends shivers down your spine breaking your voice midword, arching your back as your steps stutter alongside your speech.
"Oh."
"Ni- Nin-"
"Oooooho."
"D-Don't- Nin!"

Now she has both hands on your ear, her breath gently puffing against the back, fingers massaging each section, slowly searching out the most sensitive spots she can find.

You can't keep yourself under control.
You're walking side to side, stumbling as you go, clicking and chirping- She keeps at it, giggling all the while.

Everyone's staring at you, oh gods this is worse than tripping Nin you have to stop Nin oh gods-

It's actually a relief when the river erupts, a multi-headed reptilian monstrousity screeching as it pulls itself onto the bank.

> EARS
Yes. We have learned the truth.

... If only it had happened to Lann.

Good session! I feel that Nin's starting to edge Jin and Shesz out of the limelight, though. Just catching her up, or are you finding her easier to write?

>Getting my ADVENTURE! Hard-on to become active and then brutally suffocating it.

You are the worst kind of person.

Yay, we found a hydra! Thanks for running, as always REQM. Keep up the good work.
>>
>>36609910
Thanks for running REQM, this has to be the most hilariously lewd thread you've run so far.
>>
>>36609923
Hah, I find her almost unbearably annoying.

Long ago, near the river Nin in the province of Spidertown in the northern forest, there lived a mother arachne and her children. One year a terrible drought struck the land, but the children went out as they usually did. The eldest, Lyra, came upon a luscious patch of foliage which had attracted prey species. She ate her fill and brought the rest home for her mother and siblings. The next day she returned and again found the animals crowded thickly among the single patch of undergrowth. She was a lazy spiderbutt, however, and planned to dig up the patch and move it closer to the nest. The earth whispered to her that under the grass was a marvelous pink pearl, which Lyra brought back and wrapped in silk. When they awoke the next day, the silk had multiplied and it was clear the family would never want for coin again. They tried this again with moth dust, rock candy, and blades. Soon the secondborn Aria grew jealous and sought to take the pearl from Lyra, who, caught off guard, placed the pearl in her mouth. Aria struck a blow to her side, causing her to swallow in surprise. Overcome with thirst, Lyra rushed to the bathing basin and drank it dry. Then she ran to the river and plunged her head in, drinking deeply and growing all the while. She grew claws and horns and fangs and her beautiful spiderbutt elongated into a lashing, scaly tail. The spider dragon guards that river to this day.

You are the worstz kind of tease REQM.
Thanks for the run, looking forward to glorious monster slaying.
>>
>>36609873

The moth has found our weakness! Kill it! Kill it NOW!
Can't believe I never realized that we probably had extremely sensitive ears.
>>
>>36609950
well, we ARE half elf.
It's where we got the ears, and all. And our ability to cling to walls.
>>
>>36609950
Yes. We were so focused on Lann possibly having sensitive ears that we completely forgot that we, too, are half elf.
>>
Right since this is the end, an update on the Mothia.

They bought a wagon and "Borrowed" made a priestess break her vows, and manged to get wanted Posters for Din

10 bucks says the monster slain is us, how many 1's did we roll this thread? We have to kill a goat or some virgins in the name of the dice gods before we even think of fighting

Borrowed a horse damnit
>>
>>36610008
Nah, the crit fail means its friendly.
Thats probably the worst thing that could happen.
>>
>>36610008
Don't worry, the dragon will only be here to embarrass us further, not fight us.

Either by laughing at us, or by giving nin ideas.

>>36609923
>>36609928
>>36609931
Haha!
Nin is easier to write- The problem is that Jin is comparatively quiet, and Sheszka really only talks is spoken too.
Its something I have to work on.

Yaaay a Hydra.
How long until Lyra makes jokes about getting on it's back, much to the confusion of everyone else?
>>
>>36609942
You have horrible taste anon.
>>
>>36609873
Welp.
Hydra. You know the drill. Cut off the heads and damage the body, burn or freeze the wounds to keep it from regenarating, and avoid getting bitten because it's poisonous.
The last head may also be immortal, and we would need to bury it.[\spoiler]
>>
>>36610194
Hahaha!

>>36610204
Hey.
That's metagaming, anon.
And that is perfectly okay.
>>
>>36610062

Any chance on that whole, accidental eclipse, nightmare mode thing happening REQM? I'm sure it would be a blast and give the folks craving danger their fill.
>>
>>36610438
I don't want to have to fight whatever big gribbly it out there. If we force a confrontation, that means it would have stats, and if it has stats, that means it's either dissapointingly killable or eats 1d8 giant spiders a round.
>>
>>36610549
If we ever actually o "eldritch horror from the lightless depths", then we don't need to fight it.
You can have thrill and danger surviving a menace too.
And then swearing to return and slay it later.
>>
>>36610549

Who said it was one thing that came out? Might be like Terraria, where a weird moon unlocks nightmare mode.
>>
>>36610590
>>36610583

Also, what this anon said. It might not be something we "can" fight. Maybe just being in its presence drives you to flee if you aren't of a high enough level to pose a chance. Maybe this will turn into a spirited chase in which we have to flee from it until the lunar eclipse passes. Maybe we'd have to reach the ancient ruins and use the stars to drive it back, lighting up the night, and blasting the evil hence, but knowing in our hearts that it will never be gone from the earth, just weakened and chased back into places remote.
>>
>>36610438
It sounds like a fun idea. I'll keep it in mind!
