You stare at the white globule latched to your soul. It pulses and throbs in sync with your heartbeat, it's almost like a living thing. You imagine this must be the cause of your incessant chest pain. You need to get rid of it, but you're not entirely sure how. You can vaguely make out individual tendrils of vys writhing in the mass, so it seems like you might be able to unravel it and... you're not sure exactly. Absorb it, you would think.

It takes you some time to figure out how one goes about manipulating their very soul. It's a little more subtle than just ripping off a portion and using it to alter the fabric of the universe. Carefully, you 'reach' towards it mentally. Envisioning the white mass being squeezed. It shrinks back, and the pain in your chest intensifies. You feel it distantly, but the fact you feel it at all is a bad sign.

You ease up on the knot of pure vys and it rebounds, larger than before. It shrinks back to its original size once you've left it alone for a moment, and the pain subsides. Carefully you try to pinch one of the barely discernible individual tendrils and pull it away from the mass. Slowly, you manage to pry it free. Even though you do your best to treat the mass delicately the pain must be immense. Again, you don't really properly feel it but it descends like a weight upon your chest. You find yourself dizzy, and lacking breath.

The tendril for its part snakes through the golden orb that makes up your soul, seemingly grasping for something. Fortunately it finds nothing. You've no desire to have this thing latched even more firmly to your very being. Come to think of it, you're surprised this hasn't affected your thoughts and actions. It's actually something of a comforting realization, since it's a sign this thing probably isn't sentient in any way, shape, or form. A growth, rather than a parasite. Like a tumor.

You suppose that's not really as comforting as you initially thought. A malignant growth spreading across your soul is probably cause for at least some concern. Still, you're not really sure how you're supposed to go about removing this damned thing. Even if you unravel it, it just seems like it will try to ensnare your soul in those odd tendrils.

You expend a modicum of vys to sharpen your senses. It doesn't take much, and you find yourself better able to distinguish between the various individual strands of the... well, of whatever this is. You admit you're still not quite sure. Carefully you pry each individual tendril of pure vys free from the central mass. It's trying, tedious, and the more progress you make it seems the worse that you feel.

Eventually you're forced to take a break, your thoughts garbled and barely comprehensible even to you. It's almost like you're drunk, everything sort of just flows together and black seems to be creeping in around the edges of your vision. Granted, it's hard to notice this deep into your trance, everything save the bright points of your own and your companion's souls is a black void, devoid of color. Even the ebbs and flows of ambient vys have faded from sight.

Eventually the pain subsides and your vision clears, though you couldn't reliably say how much time has passed. You've finished removing perhaps two thirds of the growth's... tentacles, you suppose. They do indeed seem to be manipulating appendages, judging by the way they writhe about and wrap around one another. You're not sure what they're seeking, but at least they don't seem to be able to properly 'interact' with your soul. They just sort of flap against its surface uselessly. It's... well it's very strange. You're a little uncomfortable just looking at it.

I am not sure I understand the metaphysical aspects of the gates. Anyone remembers which threads had the Var Var notes?

You watch it for a time, with almost perverse curiosity. It's like some sort of disgusting, exotic insect writhing about on the ground. Of course it's disgusting, but for some reason you just can't quite look away. You want to kill it, somehow, but you fear the consequences of doing so.

You feel a twinge of pain and then a moment later one of the tendrils stabs into the golden orb that is your soul, wriggling its way deeper. The fact you felt the pain before you saw it happen irks you. It brings into question whether what you're seeing is real, and if it's actually happening as it appears to be. Are you hallucinating? Is it all some sort of fevered vision? The pain would seem to imply that it's real but you just don't feel certain of yourself any more.

You pry the tentacle free and are displeased to find that the tip has hardened into a sharp point composed of the same crystalline material as the gem at the core. Before your very eyes it fades away into the white, semi-translucent appendage it originally appeared as. However, the hole it created is not healing. It sits as a gaping wound in the essence of your very being.

You feel something very small, and very alien, brush against your consciousness. The wisp of a foreign consciousness brushing by. Even this brief contact seems to fill your thoughts with a sort of incessant, unceasing buzzing noise. High pitched and loud enough to drown out your other thoughts. It seems to last an age, but eventually dissipates. When you once more become aware of yourself, you see that a black dot has appeared in the center of the glowing red gem. A single, gaping hole which seems to open into the void itself.

It's an eye. This thing is alive after all. It seems to stare at your mental projection, watching you. So, what's your dream Banished Quest thread? Here's mine:

Anon gets a twitter alert from Soma's twitter to show up for the next thread. He gets there, turns out it was Anonymous and Anon who had hacked into Soma's account. All of /tg/ is there too. They've stolen all of his character art and they tell him he has to follow all their instructions and whatever happens to him he has to act like he enjoys it. If he doesn't, they will delete all his images and remove critical and severe failures from the quest.

So the next day, Anonymous walks into a room wearing diapers and a pacifier, acting like a retarded baby. All of /tg/ is there and they give him the hardest, most brutal gangrape in history. As instructed, Anon acts like he completely enjoys it and asks for more.

Then in walks that guy Sargeraragars from however many threads ago. Turns out he's back for revenge. He's been eating a special protein-only diet for weeks just for this. He pulls down his pants and partially defecates the longest, thickest, hardest log ever, and proceeds to use it to give Anonymous the most furious ass-to-ass action ever recorded. Anon can't hold his tears anymore, but pretends they're from pleasure. It's finally over.

Then Anonymous reveals the room they're in is actually see through from the outside, and they're in a stadium. All of the audience has been watching Anon get gangbanged and enjoy it, and it's been broadcasted worldwide. They finally kick him out of the premises, and delete all of his images anyway.

You know what being disemboweled feels like, you did it to yourself. This feels so, so much worse. Unfortunately your throat is so hoarse the most you can muster is a dry rasp. We don't need GM metal we need master metal for the mental protection. We can leave GM when we start gaining insanity really fast.
