> Previously, on Mage: the Awakening Quest!

Confronting Chrom, who had mind controlled Elizabeth and taunted Michael with her frail, malnourished body, who was goaded into attacking him. Resisting his attempt to re-write Michael's mind, Jemma, Garen and Diana rushed to our aid. Soon thrust into a stalemate, Michael uses his emotional connection to Elizabeth and began to use Spirit magic to heal the mental wounds inflicted upon her. Feeling his grip over her psyche slip away, Chrom attempted to execute her. Elizabeth regained control over the full extent of her powers the moment before she died, and was able to save herself, Michael, and end the stalemate. Chrom was sedated, and Michael resisted the desire to kill the rogue Mage, instead having the Adamantium Arrows, a sort of "magic police" as Jemma and Elizabeth called them, to come and throw Chrom into a deep, dark dungeon for the rest of his days.

After a night of passionate love making, the two were soon alerted to a third party, someone who wished to see Elizabeth and Michael be reunited. A failed attempt to scry this person's location left the two worried, but Michael remained supportive of his wife and the work they would soon do.

> And now, back to the action!

The past few months have certainly been busy, you think to yourself, relaxing in your office chair at home. The apartment smells of garlic and tomato sauce, as Elizabeth makes lasagna in the kitchen, the first warm, non-leftovers meal you've had in months. Work picked up as the law firm gained several major clients after your big win late summer, and combined with your late night lessons with Elizabeth, you've barely had any time to relax. But finally, as the nights begin to grow longer, the days shorter and colder, work settled down, and you were given a generous bonus from your boss: the entire month of December off, as thanks for your due diligence.
>>
Tonight should be a good night, you think to yourself. She's making your favorite dinner, and hopefully this will lead to another night of Life magic sex, a habit that has become increasingly common in the love-making between you and the wife. A loud thud impacts the door to the apartment, knocking you out of your lacidazical stupor. "Got it," Liz says, tossing an oven mit aside. The door clicks open, and while you can't see it, you hear Liz yelp in shock. "Mike!"

Sensing the worry in her voice you hurry over. And as soon as you see what caused her to yelp in shock, you can see why, as your mouth is agape at the gore before you.

Jemma lies on your apartment floor, her left arm being little more than bone, muscle and sinew held together by small strips of flesh, a rather large bone sticking out of her arm. Her right arm is slung beneath her chest, struggling to keep her stomach and intestines from spilling out onto the hardwood floor. Her left ankle is bent way too far to the right, her police boots tangled together in a mix of leather and string.

"Get me one of Garen's syringes," Elizabeth yells, hands glowing bright green as she begins to shovel more organs back into Jemma, her tell-tale sign of some of the strongest Life magic she knows.

"Right," you go to move, but Jemma grabs onto you with her right hand, eyes blazing green with raw Life magic.

"No," she growls out. "Must stay awake."

We currently have 8 exp, with the previous thread bumping Spirit from 3 to 4. All changes are in the resource document in >>36509391

I also added Elizabeth's sheet to the document, as unless you two are separated from one another, you can generally assume her aid in stuff you wish to do/cast, unless she cautions you against it for one reason or another.

>"Are you crazy? Do you want to die or something!?"

If we have any XP to spare, I propose we get a dot in sciences, since a lot of Forces spells rely on it, and right now we have a -3 penalty to those spells.

>>
>>36509615
i thought prime as the next thing e were going to do
>>
>>36509554
Depends on whose rotes you're using. Most any old magery can be done with occult instead of science, but if you're going for the Techne of the Free Council or anything like that then you're right, you will *need* science.
>>
>>36509643
A rote is 3 XP. Since we have none in spirit right now, it might be good to get. I'm just looking through the mage spell list for ideas on rotes, one that would work well with our stats. (IIRC presence and persuasion/intimidation are normally necessary for spirit binding)
>>
>>36509643
I thought we should go for forces for more direct damage.

"Fuck that, you need help," you yell back at her as you run to the small stash of magical items you and Elizabeth have gathered up over the past few months, mainly small favors you did for Garen, Diana, Jemma, and a couple other Mages in the city. Finding the silvery white syringe from before, you had it off to Elizabeth, who quickly jabs it into Jemma's thigh, as the other weakly tries to stop it. "Crazy woman, you have a death wish or something," you murmur to yourself, as slowly the wounds begin to close up and heal. The concoction doesn't heal everything (it isn't a miracle drug) but it does at least heal some of the more immediate things (like the gushing wound that was her left arm, the broken ankle, and some of the cuts on her organs). Elizabeth still works her magic, hands glowing as she begins to work on healing the massive gash in her stomach. The smell of burning cheese invades your nostrils.

"Fuck, the lasagna," Liz yells, looking up at you. "Pull it out, I'm a little busy here."

"Right," you mutter, grabbing the oven mitts near the stove, you yank the burnt pan of lasagna out, waving your hand slightly to remove the smokiness.

"Need anything from me," you ask her, looking at the scene before you. Jemma's barely 10 feet inside your apartment, a thin stream of blood leading down the hallway towards the main entrence to your apartment. She's slumped up against the back wall, sitting down, as Elizabeth is kneeling down, the glow from her hands extending up to her arms.

"A bit more Juice would be great," she asks, head still faced away from you. You extend your hand out and channel some of your personal well of magical power into her, as you 'click on' your Life Sight, to try and see what else is damaged with Jemma.

"Holy shit, the bottom half of her left arm is completely gone," you murmur, looking over. "A punctured lung, half her stomach is missing, I don't think she even has one of her intestines anymore... And are you fondling her lady bits," you ask, seeing Elizabeth's hands deep inside Jemma, down near her waist.

"No, I'm trying to stop the bleeding in her spleen," she replies. "God, what did this to her..."

Your mind flashes back to Mr. Muscle, back in the police station back when you first Awoke, and the threat he issued to both you and Jemma. 'Maybe a werewolf," you ask. "Jemma and I ran into one the day I Awoke."

"No, this is definitely a Mage," she replies. "Not enough claw or bite marks... This feels like a mixture of Death and Space magic; someone literally tried to make a black hole inside of Jemma."

You almost go to ask, 'is that even possible,' but realize that this is Magic she's talking about. Nearly an hour passes as you look on in silence, slowly feeding more Mana into your wife, but finally she pulls away, face dripping in sweat. There, covered in blood and ripped clothing, is Jemma, asleep but otherwise perfectly normal looking, complete with both working arms, hands, fingers.

A loud pounding on the door nearby startles you both.

"Santos! What the fuck did you do!" It's Harold, the landlord.

I was thinking more about our wife, she's life 5 after all.

Do you really need medical knowledge for that? You don't need it to heal, regrow lost limbs or turn into animals either
>>
> [1/2]

You shrug at your wife, mouthing, 'what the fuck do I say,' to her silently.

She shrugs back. 'Make it up,' she mouths to you.

Fuck, there's gotta be a ton of blood outside in the hallway. You sigh, splash some of the blood on your right hand, then crack the door open ever so slightly with the left.

Good thing too; Harold was fiddling with the keys in his hands, looking to open the apartment himself. "What the fuck is this," he says, pointing to the trail of blood in the hallway. There's surprisingly very little, most of it just being drip marks on the tiled floor leading down and around, to the elevators you imagine.

"Sorry Harold," you say, swinging your bloodied hand up at him, then back down as quick as you can. "I cut myself on the way inside, tripped over my own two feet and fucked my hand up good on the sidewalk outside." At least, that's where you hope Jemma came in from.

"Holy shit man, I thought you had stuck a pig or something! The elevator's buttons are all covered in it!" He tries to peer inside more, but you quickly shift to block any vision into the apartment.

"Yeah, sorry. Listen, I'll pay to have it removed, I just gotta get the bleeding to stop first, see if I need stitches or not."

He thinks it over for a moment, then pockets the keys. "Alright... I'll leave you an invoice in your mailbox tomorrow for the cost of getting this blood removed. And Santos," he says, turning away from the door. "Hope you don't need stitches."

"Thanks." You close the door and click the lock, sighing in relief. "Fuck, that was close."
>>
>>36510446
Because you can easily imagine regrowing a limb, but don't exactly know the causal connection between biologically changing something in the brain and a certain state of mind, you should at least know what exactly you're affecting. Some things are easy and even a commoner like us could do it (like saying "I wither his frontal lobe"), and with high life you can just will to remake the body how it was, or command it to destroy itself on a cellular level, but for complex stuff you need a certain amount of knowledge.
>>
> [2/2]

Elizabeth is already trying to drag Jemma off the floor and onto something a bit more comfortable, but Jemma must weigh a lot more than she looks. "Wanna help?"

You nod, carrying Jemma up and into your bed, Elizabeth going to wash off her hands. Jemma is lying on top of the sheets, staining them slightly with her blood. But she's alive, breathing.

Her face is pained though, as though she is having a bad dream.

That is a viable build actually. Not the most fun but viable. Basically, you put 1 dot into everything then dump the rest into gnosis and mundane skills and merits.

This makes you into what amounts to magic Batman if you play it right. Just need that prep time...

>>36510524
That's improvised spellcasting, requires gnosis+the arcana you're using. It is just as you say, brute forcing your imagination and will on the world with just the arcana and your understanding of the supernal to carry the 2 and make it work despite your lack of concrete knowledge.

You turn on your spiritual sight, trying to get an initial feel for how bad Jemma is in terms of her emotional state. You've seen her 'soul' previously: a large, red burning flame. Now, you are left in another state of shock and horror.

"Hun, you may want to take a look at this," you call to Elizabeth. She steps out of the bathroom, drying her hands on some towels. You motion for her to join you, and you tap your finger to her forehead, sharing the spell with her.

Some... THING, as near as you can describe it, is latched onto Jemma's soul, trying madly to eat it, the red flame nearly a quarter of the size you saw previously. It's almost bug-like in nature, skittering along the soul, tearing out shunks of her soul.

"FUCK!" This time it's her turn to grab you, and you feel her magical energy pour into you. "Exorcise that thing, NOW!" Knowing immediately what she means, you channel both her and your magical energy into a spell, hands glowing a white light. The thing stops it's eating, looking up at you with soulless eyes. It shreaks away in pain, as a gentle beam of light encases Jemma's body, the spirit leaping off the body. You quickly capture it in the light, pulling it closer to you.

"<Who do you work for,>" you ask, tongue shifting speech into the Shadow World, the reflected mirror of the Fallen World, where all spirits, both benign and evil, reside. Before it can reply, the thing dissintigrates, the chewed up parts of Jemma's soul collecting in your magical hands.

"Fuck," Elizabeth says, seeing the soul pieces in your grasp. "Heal her soul, now."

"This'll take some time," you murmur, recalling how long it took for you to heal both Elizabeth's soul and Rebecca's (the intern you slept with) of Chrom's influences.

"Do it."
>>
>>36510986
Fair enough, but this Chrom guy sounds like a douche. Can we settle this like oWoD Brujah? Dufflebags full of bathtub semtex in front of his manse, a long-range detonator, and a highball?

>>
It's near midday the following morning, but finally you relax back, wheezing in exhaustion, wiping beads of sweat off your brow. You glance back at Elizabeth, nodding in approval. "That should do it."

Elizabeth walks over, a steaming cup of coffee in her hand, and wavers the warm fumes up into Jemma's nose. The sleeping woman smiles, eyes fluttering open, arms stretching out over her head. She sits up, blinking at the two of you. Realization dawns on her, and she brings her hands up to her mouth in shock. "Fuck, I'm so sorry!"

"Gemini, it's ok," Elizabeth says, shoving the cup into her hands. "Just tell us what happened."

Jemma sets the cup aside, not even looking at it for one second, and is already climbing out of bed and running to the door. "I can't, this isn't your fight!"

You stand up and grab her by her shoulders, and she winces in pain, probably from the fact that 12 hours ago she was being held together by little more than willpower and raw Life magic. "The hell it is," you say, looking down at her. "You showed up at our doorstep, literally shoving your guts onto the floor. And after Elizabeth heals the superficial wounds, I find out you have some fucking spirit snacking on your soul like it's a fucking country buffet. After I exorcised it AND healed your soul, you just expect us to let you go, back onto the street, where some lunatic Mage is-"

"She's not a lunatic! She's my sister!" Jemma yells, tears streaming from her eyes. You look up at Elizabeth, who shares the same shocked look on it as you have. "And I have to kill her!"

You calm Jemma down, at least enough for her to sit back down, stop blubbering and cradle the cup of coffee she nearly threw aside a few moments ago. "Whenever you're ready."

She breathes heavily, voice quivering as she struggles to talk. "My sister and I... We Awoke when we were barely 10 years old. I awoke to the Path of Obrimos, she awoke to Thyrsus. We were inseperable; twins, her and I. We confided in each other, practiced our Craft in secret, both on each other and in remote sections of where we grew up. My hometown's a few hours south of here," she says, looking outside.

"I took a fancy to the Forces magic, and her to the Spirits magic. At first, it was so much fun... We'd play with spirits, and if any of them tried to hurt us, I'd fight them off. One day, she wanted to try and summon a larger spirit, something that we could show to our parents; a new friend." Her hands are shaking, the cup of coffee barely staying still. "We began the ritual, and when the spell finished, I saw it." She looks up, tears starting to well up once again. "This... Abomination crawled out of the circle. I tried to protect her, I swear I did. But it just enveloped her, this thing just oozed pure darkness. It swallowed her whole... And then it wasn't there. And she stood there, looking at me, but I knew it wasn't my sister."

"A Manifestation Paradox," Elizabeth intones. "Dear lord..."

Jemma nods, looking up at her. "So I ran. I ran, and ran, and ran until my legs wouldn't move. I never returned home; spent a couple years on the streets, constantly running. Until I came here, and met you," she says, looking at Elizabeth. "You helped me get back on my feet. You got me into a new home, with a loving family, and taught me all you could about Magic. I swore back then, that once I felt ready, I'd go back there."

"You mean..."

She looks up, smiling, a mask to hide her pain. "That's why I was so hard on you, Michael. You were so naive, playing with forces you had no idea of what they could do. Or the pain they can cause... But that doesn't matter anymore. She's here, in the city, and I'm still powerless to stop her."

"Gemini, why didn't you tell me this when we first met," Elizabeth asks, sitting next to Jemma, a comforting hand placed on her back. She recoils a bit in shock, as though her hand brushed up against something.

"Oh, that..." She looks back at Elizabeth, lifting the back of her shirt up. "You never did see my Mark, did you?" She turns a bit to better show you and Elizabeth: all up along her back, in bleached white scar tissue, is an intricate design for what you can only describe as angel wings. "This is my reminder, of what I did that day. Of how I fled, abandoned my sister, and left her for dead."

Ok, this is getting too rediculous. "Hey, look at me." She looks up at you, in time for you to get a clean smack across her cheek. Her head snaps to the right in shock, tears flying out onto the bed sheets.

"MICHAEL!"

"The fuck was-" She whips around at you, rage burning in her eyes. She stops when your arms are wrapped around her, pulling her off the bed, onto her feet, a full bear hug.

"Stop going lone wolf on us," you say, patting her head. "After all we've been through. After everything Elizabeth's done to help you, out of the kindness of her heart. Don't close off all avenues to your heart." You let go slightly, looking down at her, making sure that the two of you are looking at each other in the eye. "You are NOT alone." You smile at her, trying to instill a sense of hope into her. "We'll find your sister. We'll stop her from killing you. We'll save her, or at the very least help you stop her. And if we have to kill her, know that it will be as a last resort. And we will share in your pain."

> [1/2]

Could we go about getting a shadow name soon? I don't like the idea of every creep and their dog knowing our true name. Fuck sympathy magic.

She frowns, eyes bubbling with tears again. Suddenly, Elizabeth wraps her arms around the back of Jemma, seeing what you are trying to do.

"I'm sorry you didn't trust me enough back then, to share this pain with me. So please," she says, kissing the back of her head. "Let it all out."

For a few seconds, Jemma stands there silently, sandwiched between the both of you. Then, slowly, she begins crying. Years of anger, hatred, self-loathing, and sorrow spill out onto you, her cries of sorrow filling the room. And the entire time, the two of you just stand there, holding her tight, supporting her in her moment of grief.

--------------

"... And that's when I came here," Jemma says, eyes blood shot red, but literal years of worry and doubt gone from her face. She sips the cup of coffee you'd made for her, now cold.

"So, let me get this straight," you say, leaning back onto the wall. "You think your possessed sister is the one kidnapping Mages, and is holding them captive somewhere?"

She nods, digging her phone out of her pocket. "Yeah... I was able to snap this photo of her before she attacked me, so at least we have something to go on." She shows the picture to you, and you whistle.

"Damn, why's your sister not wearing any pants," you say, looking up at the ceiling, trying hard to NOT get aroused. She shows the photo to Elizabeth, who frowns.

"Hmm... Maybe she's using her looks to lure Mages into dropping their defenses before attacking them?"

I suggested Raguel or one of his variant names last time. The Archangel of justice, fairness, harmony, and vengeance. Fits our man perfectly.

Still using the same body eh? Might have us a good sympathetic link. Can anyone we know into spaces? We could scry her position, but I wouldn't dare attempt to fire a sympathetic attack on an abyssal. That alerts them of active pathway outright, and well, sympathetic pathways work both ways once spotted.

Really? I don't got the new mage book so I have no clue what the 6th watchtower is even all about. Simply that it's related to Spirit and Forces and sucks at Prime.

Also, our dude is Mexican or Spanish. That's Catholic country. The name of the Archangel may derive from an apocryphal work, but who said shadow names had to have definitive connections to your faith and personal life.

In fact, best they don't, why give them clues?

Don't mages obtain some power from associating with the iconography of their Tower?

Arcanthus and Arcadia for instance, something celtic themed.
>>

A cabal can gain a measure of power by dedicating itself to some sort of iconography or concept, but I don't think an individual mage can.

Shadow names are usually either related to their watchtower or to their ideals, but it can be literally anything. Many Free Council mages have shadow names that sound like the screen names you see all over the net, picked for no other reason than the mage thought it "sounded cool" and they aren't any stronger or weaker than any other.

"Hell if I know," Jemma shrugs.

"Any other clues to where we can find her? Maybe if someone else knows she's still alive, then we can track them down and find her that way?"

She shakes her head. "No, near as I can tell, after I ran, the police found my folks dead at home, thinking some wild coyote got them. But I knew better," she looks up at the two of you, shivering in fear. "She was always the more curious of the two of us when it came to Magic. It's been... God, almost 20 years since I ran away that day. I don't know what the thing could've done since then."

"Well, all we can do is go back to where you last saw her, try and see if we can find any clues to her where-abouts." Elizabeth says, getting up and patting Jemma on the back. "Give us a couple minutes to get ready, ok babe?"

She nods, leaving the room with her cup of coffee.

'Why don't you use magic to scry for her,' you whisper to Elizabeth, knowing that even with her base understanding of Space magic, with such a strong connection between the two, it should be a sinch to find her.

'Because if this Abomination is as strong as I suspect, then it's not just possessing her body; it's absorbed her soul and has had 20 years of practice to learn and master any and all Magic that her sister had access to.' She begins to change out of her last night's dress, clothes still stained with blood.

'So what, those spells you think were cast on Jemma were spells the Manifestation knew,' you say, throwing on your sweater and chain shirt.

'Worse; I think those were spells her sister learned after Jemma ran away.'
>>
>>36512871
Yeah but, think on it, Thor is too easy. You're just trying to sound cool or something unless you really are a follower of the Viking Religion. They had a whole pantheon of badass dudes (and a few Valkyries if you're a girl) Thor's just the most well known guy from that culture.

Besides, that could be an advantage. Any level of occultation you can get is a boon against sympathetic magic. Though the consillium may mandate you take a name that isn't already "taken" so that the Hierarch doesn't get confused.
>>
> [2/2]

Jemma drives the two of you to the last location, a rather seedy section of town, where many hookers and pimps operate out of. She points to where they fought, and you can see why she struggled to get away; chain linked fences encircle a burned out shop, a trail of blood (probably Jemma's) coating the sidewalk.

While Jemma and Elizabeth inspect the immediate area and talk to the locals (who are none too happy to see a cop in the area), you begin to make general inquiries into the local spirits in the area. The area itself is rather devoid of spiritual activity, which is pretty odd, as even in inanimate objects there are - or at least, should be - even minor spirits that you can talk to. Curious, you turn on your spiritual sight.

The Fallen World shifts into a grayed out haze, the concrete buildings and metallic structures giving way to wispy figures of trees dying, flowers withering, and puddles of black ooze all around you. That is certainly wrong, as all of your previous visions into the Shadow World have shown that even in a concrete city, the remnants of the natural world - of trees blooming, sun shining, and flowers waving in the warm breeze - are still strong here.

"Nobody saw anything," Jemma says, walking up behind you. "Not surprising, as Sleepers will Disbelieve in Magic very easily." She frowns when you don't reply, instead looking around at you, your glowing white eyes hidden behind a pair of dark sunglasses. "What's wrong?"

"The land... it's poisoned," you say to her, as there is little else you can say to describe what you see. "I think your sister is tainting the land... But that's so weird, because that shouldn't be possible." You look back at her, turning the sight off. "The Shadow World is rather resistant to change; like all of our modern technology and changes to the land won't show up in that world for decades to come, if ever. Yet this land is like a toxic waste dump..."

"It must be because she's walking through the Shadow World," Elizabeth says, walking up to the both of you. "She only enters the Fallen World long enough to do whatever it is she needs to do, then retreats into it. Very quick, quiet, and difficult to do."

"Uhh... I think we're gonna need another Spirit Mage to help us out," you say to them both. "I'm not nearly powerful enough to heal this damage, and I'm pretty sure Spirit is the best type of Magic I'm good at."

"Well... What about Nubs," Elizabeth asks.

Jemma shakes her head. "Dead. What about Cal?"

"Also dead."

The girls rattle off another dozen different Mage names before you notice two patterns:

1) All of them are powerful Spirit Mages

2) All of them are dead.

The hairs on the back of your neck stand on end, as you shift your spiritual sight back on. The sky above begins to grow dark, as the black ooze begins coalescing into a solid shape. You barely have time to throw up an Ephemeral Shield (a spell to protect against attacks from spiritual beings) before the ooze lunges at the three of you. It buffers against the shield, you grunting in pain, but the bubble holds. You feel a tugging on your self, the tell-tale sign of someone forcefully drawing you into the Shadow World.

"Mike!" Elizabeth grabs onto you, as Jemma's hands begin to glow a violet color. The ooze begins to dissipate, as the tug of war on your soul snaps. You recoil in shock, the wind knocked out of you.
>>
"Lets get out of here," you say to them both. The two nod and begin to walk back to the car, you slowly moving with them, keeping the shield up. The spell encircles the car as you enter it, as you look out the window and see the black ooze collecting into a solid mouth.

Also, definitely feeling like calling in some werewolves now.

This is extremely bad, it's prioritizing things that can enter the spirit world. There aren't any packs in the city it seems (or they got nom'd first). So besides the corruption of the shadow, what do the doggies think will happen when it runs out of spirit mages to eat? Or even any mages to eat? Think it's just gonna sit there doing nothing? Nah, it'll move on, likely stopping by their place for a few tasty snacks!

This piece of evidence should definitely get them to put aside their grudge and help us out.
>>
"<Sorry, I don't let just any mouth eat me out, no matter how long it's tounge might be>," you yell back at it, as a large tounge slithers out of the mouth, licking lips that are not there.

Thin black arms slither out of the ooze, as dozens of small, white eyes bubble up out of the black goo. The arms begin to crawl at the speeding car, the inhuman beast picking up in speed. Shit, maybe taunting it wasn't the best idea.

"Must go faster, must go faster," you say, glancing back at the two.

"What's chasing us," Elizabeth asks, unable to see what is going on. You tap the sides of each of their foreheads, temporarily letting them see into the Shadow World, and they glance back at the creature.

"What the fuck is that," Jemma yells, swerving down a street, the police lights in her car being flipped on. The beast just phases through a building, gaining ground.

"I think it's your sister's Familiar," you murmur back, straining to keep the bubble active. The beast begins lobbing chunks of itself at the three of you, each one bouncing off the shield with a loud thud.

"What the fuck are we supposed to do against that!?"

"Jemma, focus on driving!"

"Don't need to tell me twice," she yells, jamming her foot into the floor mat. The car lurches ahead as she merges onto the highway. The beast climbs up onto it, phasing through passing cars, the people inside all shivering as though someone stepped on their graves.

Which, in a way, this beast did.

"Liz, do you know how to talk down a pack of angry, pissed off werewolves if we enter their territory with this thing in tow?"

"I'll certainly try," she says, keeping an eye behind them. "At the very least I can make sure we won't get munched on right away. What are you gonna try to do?"

You pull the brass knuckles out of your pocket, channeling Spirit magic into them. "Try and get this beast off us!" You pull your left hand back like it is cranking a crossbow strapped to your right arm, shaping the Spirit magic into a fist-shape bolt and focusing the magic to be purely Spiritual and nothing else. 'Thank God for tinted windows,' you think to yourself, as the ball of energy begins to glow on your right arm, by your elbow. You release the magical tension and the bolt flies out, entering into the Shadow World before it even exits the vehicle. It strikes the beast in it's mouth, stunning it as though it just got hit by a hammer.

"Nice job," Liz yells, patting us on the back. "Keep it up!"

You fire off 4 more of these fist-shaped bolts of spiritual magic before the last pierces through the beast, the black ooze beginning to fade away.

"<ThiS ISn'T oVeR, MAge...>" Bubbles out of its mouth before it flickers into nothingness.

"No, it certainly isn't..." Something tells you that the next few days are gonna be very, very tiring.

The car eventually merges off the highway and turns off towards a small bar, down the road from the large forest preserve that is west of the city. Mr. Muscle (your nickname for the werewolf you and Jemma met the day you Awoke) told them never to enter this territory unannounced. You hope your reasoning for entering doesn't make him rip your throat out right away.

You think you have a rather nice neck.

Jemma enters the bar first, as all eyes in the establishment turn towards the door. At least a dozen different people look at you, eyes a mix of bloodlust and raw emotion.

"I thought I told you never to come here, Mage," Mr. Muscle growls out, stepping out from behind the bar. You swear he's grown another couple inches taller, as you need to crane your neck up to look him in the face. "Or you looking for a fight?"

"Actually..." Jemma clasps her hands together, bowing deeply to him. "We came here to ask for help."

Spirit Blast (for lack of a better term) does Lethal damage to a Spirit. if used on a living person it's Bashing damage, as you are striking their very soul. It's a Spirit 4 spell.
