You are Captain WILLIAM PIERCE, a combat rescue officer of the United States Air Force.

Currently, you were in the middle of a debriefing with Colonel Kelsey, though he's given you some rather shocking information.

"We're going WHERE?" You blink, wondering whether Kelsey was playing some sick joke on you.

"Washington DC." Kelsey says with a rather ambivalent look on his face. "Apparently, when we requested Distinguished Flying Crosses for you and your squadron's rescue of Princess Katsumi, Congress, upon the personal recommendation of the Emperor of Japan himself, decided to upgrade yours, Rachel's, and Airman Bishop's DFCs to Medals of Honor. You and your squadron will be expected to appear in DC to personally receive the medals in a public ceremony."

"So we're being pulled off the front?" You narrow your eyes.

"For the time being, yes." Kelsey nods.

"What do you think about this, sir?" You ask Kesley.

"Officially? I am overjoyed that some of my subordinates have been awarded the highest military honor that can be presented by my country and I wish you nothing but the best." Kelsey sighs. "Unofficially, I'm royally pissed that I'm losing an extremely effective mixed unit like yours to what amounts to propaganda and homefront politics."

"There's nothing you can do about it?"

"I have here in my hand," Kelsey picks up a recently opened envelope, "orders signed by the President of the United States himself, 'requesting' that you appear in DC for the ceremony. Your entire squadron included."

"How about Laika?" You ask.

"Technically, she's not a part of your squadron." Kelsey grunts. "But if you really want to bring her along, I can make the arrangements."

"Of course we want to bring her along." You say as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. "We can't very well leave her here by herself, can we?"

"And so I lose one of the best damn recon birds I've ever had as well." Kelsey sighs. "It's a good thing that the lines are beginning to stabilize, or I'd have been in a fouler mood."

"So when are we leaving?" You ask.

"Erm," Kelsey checks his watch. "Right now."

"What?!" You yelp.

"Somebody really wants this to happen." Kelsey sighs. "You're on the next transport flight out. Better pack fast."

"Yes sir!" You salute smartly and quickly double time it out of the barracks. Fortunately, Kelsey was forward thinking enough to send a runner ahead to your barracks. By the time you get there, the rest of your squadron is packed and ready to go.

"Late as usual, I see." Janice chuckles as you arrive, tired and out of breath, and tosses a duffel bag to you. "Don't worry, I already took the liberty of packing your things."

"Thanks a lot, Janice." You smile.

"So, Cap, what's the deal? A runner comes by and tells us to get packed and ready to go ASAP." Red frowns. "Something happen?"

"The regular kind or the classified kind?" You raise an eyebrow.

"A little of both." Tarin shrugs.

"All right." The airman nods and motions to a tuck idling outside. "Sorry about the ride, sir. It was the best we could get on short notice."

"No worries. It beats walking." You give a friendly grin.

You all pile into the back of the truck, though Laika needed a bit of extra help due to her condition. The ride itself is fairly short though, taking you to a waiting C-5 heavy transport plane. However, as your helping your witches unload their gear and disembark the truck, you see an ambulance rolling up to the C-5 as well. You were aware that in addition to transferring personnel, it was also carrying wounded back to the States for proper treatment. However, what surprised you was seeing Elsa carting a wheelchair bound Hessler out of the ambulance, with Rubens in tow.

"Hey, Janice, can you handle things here for me?"

"Of course!" She nods.

You jog over to the two Germans and wave. Elsa catches sit of you and waves back, while Hessler only gives you a respectful nod.

"I didn't expect you to be on this flight." You say.

"Didn't expect to see you here, either." Elsa grins. "Going AWOL?"

"Nah, only the President wanting to personally pin a medal on my chest." You respond.

"Congratulations." Hessler says. "The Medal of Honor, I assume?"

"That's right." You nod. "Anyways, what are you two doing here?"

"Well, we got orders to return to Germany." Elsa shrugs. "Seems like NATO's preparing a big push, and we've technically already done our jobs, so there's no more reason for us to be here."

"I also suspect, with Hessler's close brush with death earlier, her superiors want her back under a tighter leash." Rubens adds in.

"Baseless rumors." Hessler grunts. "And why am I still in this wheelchair? I'm perfectly-"

"Sorry, Hessler, but as long as you're my patient, I'M in charge." Rubens says simply as she puts a hand on Hessler's shoulder, keeping her in the wheelchair. "Trust me, you don't want to piss off your doctor."

Even the mighty Silver Tiger had the foresight to admit defeat, and she grumbles as she settles back into her wheelchair.

"And you say I'M the childish one!" Elsa laughs.

"Well the Pacific isn't going to be the same without you two." You say solemnly.

"Yeah, it's been fun." Elsa grins. "But hey, you ever find yourself in Europe, be sure to drop by! You know, to visit, not to pull our asses out of the fire, hopefully."

"I'll be sure to." You laugh.

With that, the Germans and your squadron boards the C-5, which was incredibly spacious since this one was purely dedicated to personnel transport. You all strap in the seats on the sides of the fuselage, with you and Janice making sure Laika was secured extra tight. Some more medical personnel came in wheeling in wounded, either by stretch or by wheelchair, and made sure they were all properly lashed down before leaving. Finally the loadmaster gives a thumbs up the ground crew and hits the switch to close the loading hatch.

You'd like to say that a C-5 flight was a smooth as a passenger liner, but... it wasn't The plane was designed to carry cargo first, and cater to crew comfort never. However, things started to get better as the plane leveled out. Immediately, plane was abuzz with conversation, mostly talk about what people were going to be doing once they got back to the states.

"So Laika." You say turn to the little Russian girl. "Are you excited to see America for the first time?"

"Oh yes!" Laika nods so fast you're afraid her head will fall off. "All I have heard or seen of it is from propaganda! Is it true all Americans are cowboys?!"

"No, Laika."

"But... but..." Laika whimpers. "That means Uncle Kitty lied to meeeeeeee!"

"Who?!" You blink.

"Ah, um, he was one of my bodyguards! For a loyal Soviet he had strange attraction to American culture! Especially cowboys! He said all Americans were like that!"

You were trying to imagine what a Russian cowboy looked like in your head, but your mind just couldn't make the connections.

"Well, nevermind that." You say. "I have something even better!"

"Really?" Laika's eyes widen. "What? What!?"

"Happy Meals." You say simply.

"You eat happiness?" Laika gets a confused look. "No wonder why you're all so fearsome!"

"No, no!" You sigh. "It's a meal specially made for kids like you, and it comes with a free toy!"

"You mean they just GIVE AWAY TOYS FOR FREE?!" Laika gasps.

"Yeah, pretty much." You nod.

"AMERICA SOUNDS LIKE THE BEST COUNTRY EVER!" Laika cheers.

You could swear you could hear a muffled "Fuck yeah!" somewhere in the back of the plane.

"You're trying to picture me in a dress, aren't you." Tarin says flatly.

"Can you really blame me?"

"I guess not." Tarin sighs. "It was all right. I didn't have to talk to anyone much and the food was good, at least."

"And the business?"

"Apparently there were some interested parties in DC who needed a witch that was good at her job and didn't ask questions." Tarin shrugged. It seemed that was all she was willing to say.

"Okay, I get the gist." You nod. "Still, I take it you practically know every inch of the city?"

"Yes. How did you know?" Tarin looks at you curiously.

"...just a hunch."

"Attention, passengers." You hear the pilot speak over the intercom. "We are on approach to Andrews Field and will be landing shortly. Please ensure everybody is properly seated and secured."

You were at Andrews already? Shit, the time really flew.

With landing imminent, the loadmasters began aggressively patrolling the bay, tightening each and every seat belt and safety strap they came across despite several protest. Once the C-5 touches down, the loadmaster waits for the craft to come to a full stop before giving the all clear signal and lowering the ramp. The passengers begin disembarking as a small army of medics and orderlies shuffle in to cart out the wounded. You can see Ruben signing Hessler out to the care of another doctor, no doubt to complete their transfer back to Europe. Elsa waves farewell to you, and you even see Hessler follow up with a small and curt wave of her own.

"Captain Pierce?" An airman comes up to you, clipboard in hand.

"That's me." You nod.

"If you can please wait here, sir, the President would like to see you."

"Really?" You look around the airfield, but don't see him or any of his retinue. "Where?"

"Just a second. He's a few minutes late." The airman says as you hear the roar of another plane landing. You turn, expecting to see another military transport, but instead you get a glimpse of Air Force One in all of its glory.

"Holy shit." You and probably the rest of your squadron mutter.

"YEEEESSS!" You hear Laika cheer, her arms flailing wildly in the air.

The door then opens, and a flurry of politicians and bodyguards file out, followed by Secret Service agents and Japanese Royal Guards.

Wait, that could only mean-

Then the President and the Emperor both exit the plane, laughing as if they were lifelong friends. Actually, it made sense, since the Emperor was the man who recommended you for the Medal of Honor.

All of you salute as the President approaches. Laika looks around, a bit confused, before following suit with her own salute in order to fit in.

"So, you're the young men and women the Emperor has been talking so much about, eh?" The President chuckles. "No need to be so stiff, son. I don't bite."

"Yes, sir!" You say, not even relaxing at all.

"Anyways, I'm sorry for all the short notice, but as you can see, we've all got busy schedules." The President grins. "But you'll be able to stay here for a few days. You've got one day for the ceremony and another day after. We don't want to keep you off the front for too long, eh?"

"No sir." You shake your head.

"Anyways." The President takes a folder from one of his aides. "Lodging has been something of a nightmare for us lately, especially with the Emperor arriving in town. If you want, we can set you up at St. Regis."

"Oh no, we couldn't possibly take advantage of you like that!" You shake your head. St. Regis was probably the most upscale hotel in all of DC.

"Ah, don't worry about that, the Emperor is footing the bill!" The President laughs.

"It is the least I can do for the men who saved my precious daughter." The Emperor nods.

"Or if that's too fancy for you, you and your squad could always stay in the White House." The President grins. "The wife keeps complaining we never have enough visitors over. What do you say?"

Not nearly as swank as St. Regis. The White House is a busy place, probably even busier during war. Little privacy, and we're here with Janice.

"Sorry, sir, the offer to stay at the White House is tempting, but if the Emperor is footing the bill, I intend to take full advantage of St. Regis." You say.

"Understandable." The President nods. "Anyways, I got business to attend to. There's a war on, if you haven't heard!"

"Of course, sir. We'll see you at the ceremony, then."

"And one more thing!" The President points at Bullseye. "How would you like to fly Marine One?"

"W-what!?" Bullseye blinks, completely caught off guard. "Are you shitting me?!"

You see the gathered Secret Service agents also turn their heads to the President. This obviously was not part of the plan.

"Sir," one of the agents whispers to the President, "he hasn't been properly vetted or cleared-"

"Son, from what I've heard and read, this man is one of the best goddamn help pilots on the planet! I mean, he auto-rotated a helo onto a carrier! If you can't trust a pilot like that, I might as well just fire the whole lot of you!"

The Secret Service agents just look at each other nervously and back off.

"I thought so." The President grins and turns back to Bullseye. "So what do you say, son? Want to take the President for a spin?"

"You bet your ass I would!" Bullseye says happily and points to Nungesser. "And um, you think I can bring a friend along?"

"I'd be honored." The President kisses Nungesser's hands. "Closer relations with the French never hurt anyone either."

"So, uh, I'll catch you at the hotel later then, sir?" Bullseye looks to you.

"Go knock 'em out." You laugh.

Shit, you just barely landed in DC and there was all sorts of stuff happening. You had a feeling you'd be getting no rest while you were here...

>>36500690
Pretty much though I wonder if Jack style of playing will be cheating at times.

I meant during a fist fight he uses a heat knife launcher.

Our Balls chasing down Hoshino's Core Fighter.

Hell Even Lucina and Jack's GM Drive will be a curb stomp on some of the more annoying antagonists.

I'm not alone!

The 3 a team thing was a strange coincidence.

The only thing it missed was the one mobile armor for the entire team.

>>36500705
Really, I thought if we did we might be someone else and will pick a new gunpla then see Jack being surrounded by the Team Magician girls and get teased by that.

Or just seeing having Team Magicians fighting again. We may be able to use Mac.

I thought the mobile armor was more of a coincidence then anything else.
