Today is a very special day! Today, you're going with your parents to visit.. uhh, somebody you don't know! But it must be someone important because you're on an airplane. You've never flown before, you always get put in the boring backseat of the boring car where you have to sit and be bored for hours. But not today! Today you're flying for the first time and that's amazing and that's how you know it must be an important visit. But you don't care about that because you're flying and you even have the seat by the window.

The world looks so wonderful from up here, more than you could ever have imagined. It's really hard to get a good look out of the window because you're strapped into your seat and you're not allowed to get out. But you can still see so much from there. You can barely believe how huge the world is and you're only looking at a tiny portion. Maybe one day you can see the rest of it? That would be nice.

Further down the plane there are men shouting about something, but you don't understand what they're saying. You don't really care, it's probably just boring grown up stuff that doesn't matter. It never matters, they just use a lot of big words they don't really mean. Your attention is firmly pointed outside, at the giant city that just came into your view. Especially you notice the huge towers of metal and glass reaching towards the sky. You wonder how many people live there. Thousands of thousands you're sure!
>>

You are Andrea, a five year old girl with a fully intact sense of wonder and adventure. In the future you will be far more than that, but not right now. Right now, you're staring in awe at the green flash of light that just appeared on the roof of that tall building. Not the really tall ones, but you can tell it's also much taller than the ones at home. You tug at your mothers sleeve to show her, but she ignores you. More boring grown up stuff. Whatever!

The flash of green kicks high into the air, then changes its direction. It's heading towards the plane and it's going fast. You try to tell someone but nobody cares. Grown ups are so stupid, this is important and they need to look at it! But nobody listens to you.

Suddenly you feel a powerful force slamming into you and you're flying out of your seat, out of the plane. But it doesn't hurt, you didn't hit anything on the way. You don't even feel the wind outside, all you feel is the pair of arms holding you by your shoulders. Leaning your head back, you see the owner of those arms, a girl much bigger than you, with bright green hair. You're not sure having green hair is normal. But flying without a plane isn't normal either, you think. Maybe you're dreaming.

You pinch yourself, but nothing happens. Weird!

>Introduce yourself! It's called being polite and mom says that's important!
>Scream for help! This girl took you away from your mom and dad and that makes her a kidnapper!
>Actually, who cares, you have a much better view from out here. Keep looking at that!
>Other? (Write-in)

Terrifying.
Young Andrea is it? Hmmm, interesting.
>>
Hope you've had a good couple weeks, Nee-san.
Also why did you feel the need to clarify lack of lewd in last thread's archive? Suspicious...
>>
>>36465567
You're supposed to introduce yourself politely like your mom taught you! Though you're also not supposed to talk to strangers? Maybe that just means you have to make her not a stranger? Yes that must be it! Grown ups make things so complicated when it's really simple.

"Hello! I'm Andrea and I'm five! What's your name?"

The girl looks kind of sad, like when you've lost a toy or when there's no more ice cream. She smiles a little while looking down at you, but you know that's not a real smile. She's just pretending to be happy!

"Hi Andrea. My name's Catherine and I'm-"

She stops speaking suddenly, then quickly pulls you close, pushing your head against her chest. Maybe she just wanted a hug? That's okay because you're good at hugging, but from here you can't see anything at all anymore except for her dress! It's a pretty white dress, with long sleeves and cute ribbons. It also has a lot of weird green patterns that almost seem to shine. You're not sure if you like those.

Cathering is even even covering your ears so you can't hear much. Though even past that you hear a boom in the distance. Probably another silly grown up thing that's not important. But how are you supposed to talk if she's covering your ears like that?

"Uhm, could you stop covering my ears? It's really uncomfortable and I can't hear!"

She lowers her arms, back to hold you by the shoulders. She's still holding you tight so you can't really see anything but her, but at least now you can talk again!

>Ask her how she's flying?
>Ask her why she took you from the plane?
>Ask her what that noise was?
>Ask her something else? (Write-in)

You're still not sure what's going on here, but you can definitely tell that Catherine needs some cheering up. That's why she's holding you like this, she needs a hug! And your mom also taught you that it's important to think about how others feel and you think that means it's your job to try to make her happy. So you hug her back! Your arms just barely reach around the girl, she must almost be a grown up even though she doesn't really look like one. She's not as stupid as grown ups yet you think.

She lets out a surprised yelp at your suddenly squeezing her torso, before squeezing you even harder. Wow, and you thought she was already holding you tight. This girl must be really strong too! But you don't say anything, you're doing it for her after all. You hear her sniffle softly above you and it's a few moments before she softens her grip, letting go of you with one arm and holding you with the other so she can wipe her face. She shouldn't do that in her pretty dress!

>>36466534
"You're really friendly, aren't you?"

You nod proudly.

"Yep! You should always smile and be friendly, my mom taught me that!"

She chuckles softly. Her smile looks more real now. And that's good, she's much prettier when she's smiling. Just like you. Or at least that's what dad always says.

"So, uhm, Miss Catherine? How uhm, how are you flying like this? Are you magical?"

She responds cheerfully, a hint of laughter in her voice. You like that, her happier voice makes you feel much calmer.

"Sure am! You believe in magic, don't you?"

Well duh, you're flying in the air. If she says it's magic, you believe it!

"Uh-huh! Can I learn too?"

Catherine turns you around, giving you a view of the landscape below you. You're going really fast! But the city you were looking at is gone already. That's too bad, you liked it.

"Mhm, if you want to. Actually, that's kind of why I'm here!"

Wow. You could learn to fly like this too? And probably tons of other cool stuff. And she'll teach you, just like that?

"There is one thing, though." She continues. "You'll have to come live with me. Would you like that, Andrea?"

>Of course you want to! This is amazing!

She wants you to live with her? But you live with your parents! And your parents are supposed to take care of you, not someone else. That's the rules, you know that! And you're a good girl and girls don't break the rules! At least you should ask your parents.

"Uhm, I think I should ask my parents for permission first? Could we go back so I can ask them?"

Catherine lets out a strange sound, as if she was choking on something for a moment but then immediately stops again. She gives you a strange look, as if you had said something really confusing but you just asked to go back. That's not confusing at all.

"Catherine?"

"No. You can't tell them anything, this has to be secret! So you can't see them or talk to them. Sorry, but that's the rules. And we can't break the rules."

But... you can't see your parents? But they're your parents and you love them! Flying and stuff is awesome too and at least you'll have Catherine but... you're not sure.

"You have to choose, Andrea."

She's 5, her whole world revolves around her parents.

You lean your head back to face her again. She looks down at you as well, waiting for your answer.

"Catherine? This is really cool, but could you please take me back to my mom and dad?"

She cringes visibly, before her face turns back into a frown of sadness.

"And I thought I was doing so well... I'm terrible at this. Why can't I do anything right?"

You're not sure what she's talking about, and you don't like that she's unhappy again but your parents will be unhappy too if you don't come back!

"Catherine? Please turn back."

You see a shimmer in her eyes. Tears? Is she really that sad you don't want to go with her? Maybe she thinks you hate her. You hope she doesn't think that because you don't hate her just because you love your parents. You don't have much time to think about that however as she raises a hand in front of your eyes. She speaks in between sobs.

"I'm so sorry. It wasn't meant to be this way!"

You see a bright flash of green, then darkness.
>>
>>36467317
When you wake up, you're in a big bed, grown up size so way too big for you. The covers of the bed are a darkish blue that's also very different from the pink bed you have at home. The room around you isn't big, but there's very little in it so it seems very spacious. Aside from the bed, there's only a small table on one side and a closet at the end of the hall. Catherine is there too, leaned against the closet with her arms around her knees.

On the side that isn't the side with the table, you haven't learned left and right yet, you see a small window. Through that, you see a thick forest. Of course she lives in a forest, just like a witch! She doesn't seem to have noticed you're awake yet, though. Maybe you should say something? Or you could try to sneak away?

>Try to sneak away while she isn't looking?

There are runways in forests in the real world (like the middle of the Amazon for example). At age 5? Because the majority of 5-year old children have the imagination required to blend those borders.

But hey, what do I know, I just teach a class of the little rugrats.
>>
>>36467332
Wait, this might not be as bad as you think! Maybe she took you to meet your parents here? Yeah, that must be it. Catherine is nice, you should give her a chance instead of thinking bad things about her!

"Hi Catherine! What happened? Did I fall asleep, did you take me to my parents?"

She makes a small jump of surprise when you speak, looking up at you. Her eyes are so red it almost scares you and her face is covered in tears. She quickly buries her face in her hands again and starts sobbing violently. That's not what she was supposed to do!

"Uh, Catherine? Are you okay?"

Her cries only grow louder, but now you can make out what she's saying at least.

"I can't do this, I can't do this, I can't do this."

She keeps repeating those words over and over. Wow, for an old girl she really cries a lot. Even more than you! You thought you were supposed to cry less when you get older, not more?

Anyway, clearly she needs you to comfort her again, so you kick off the blanket you were buried under and jump out of the bed. She doesn't even notice any of this as you walk over to her, sit down on your knees beside her, then wrap your arms around her. Wait wasn't she a lot bigger before? She's still bigger than you, but you remember she was almost as big as a grown up before and now she's only, well, you don't know how old but not a grown up. Weird!

Grown up or not, she takes the hug anyway, though not as tightly as before.

"I'm so sorry."

Kids tend to be completely, utterly, through-and-through, insane. And then somehow not quite anyway. Trying to do their perspective justice in writing is pretty fun, though I find so far that you pretty much have to break it constantly to get anything done at all.

"Sorry about what? Did you do a bad thing, Catherine?"

This time, she buries her head into your shoulders. It's a little odd, you're not used to being on this end of a comfort hug at all.

"No, it's not like that, I-"

She stops and raises her head suddenly. Maybe she thought it was awkward too, because she quickly switches the roles, instead pushing your head against her chest. That's not as soft anymore either, but that may not be important right now. In this position, you can clearly feel her take a deep breath, gulp down, then breathe out slowly.

"Your parent are gone, Andrea. Dead. I saved you, but I couldn't save them. I'm sorry. So you can't go back, not ever. But you can stay here, I promise I'll do my best to make you happy."

A long pause follows, neither of you saying anything.

"I promise."

You don't understand what she's saying. You can't see your parents? You want to go home! Already, you feel the tears welling up in your eyes.

"Why can't I go home, Cathy? I want to go ho-o-ome! Pwease take whome!"

Catherine is trembling as you unload on her.

"I can't! They're gone! Do you understand? Gone!"

She's just saying the same thing!

"Gone where? Pwease take me there! I want my mom and da-a-ad!"

She doesn't say anything and instead just holds you even tighter when she senses you trying to slip out of her grasp to run away.

"Cathy! Stop being a meanie! I wa-a-ant my mo-o-om!"

She keeps just sitting there, holding you as tight as she can. You try to kick her and hit her to let you go, but she doesn't move an inch. You don't know how long this goes on, but eventually you feel yourself become unable to kick anymore, unable to cry anymore. So you just sit there, resting your head on her shoulder. Your eyes hurt, your head feels really hot, and your throat is dry. Finally, in response to your silence, Catherine lifts you from your place beside her, sitting you down in front of her.

"I can't give you your parents, but..."

She sniffles loudly, again raising an arm to wipe the tears from her face with her sleeve. Her eyes are still really red, though. You wonder if yours are too, as she uses her other sleeve to wipe yours.

"If you like, I can be your sister from now on?"

>You never had a sister. You'd like one.
>No. You'll stay if you have to but you don't want a meanie witch for a sister!

It's good to hear you're having fun, nee-san! But I guess we won't meet current-Andrea this thread either, at this rate. If we even were on track for that in the first place.
>>
>>36469371
Actually, you've never had a sister. And if you can't have your parents, then a sister is definitely a good thing, right? You hold out both your hands to her and try to smile. You're not sure you're doing it right anymore. Catherine stares at your hands in confusion, uncertain what you're trying to do, so you give both a light shake. Finally, she understands and takes your hands in hers.

Immediately you make your move, using her arms to pull yourself upright and land a gentle peck on her cheek.

"I'd like that, Sis!"

She looks down with a slight smile, mumbling something under her breath you can't make out, before looking back up at you.

"Hey, you must be hungry, right?"

Now that she mentions it, you actually are. You're not sure what time of day it is, but you have a sudden craving for something specific...

"Can you make pancakes? I'd really love some pancakes!"

She nods with a soft hum, lifts herself up into an upright position, holding out her hand for you to take. You do so, though you're once again reminded how much smaller she is now.

>>36470639
"Hey how come you're smaller now, Cathy?"

She leads you out of the small room, into what you guess must be both the kitchen and living room at one time. In one end is a stove and oven and the other kitchen stuff you don't really know the names of. In the other end is a tall table with a chair on each side. She lifts you into one of those chairs and sets to work in the kitchen while she explains.

"That comes with the magic. It makes you look older than you are. I'm actually only eleven, but I look much older when I use magic! Pretty cool, huh?"

You've wondered how you'd look when you're older many times. If you learned magic you would probably find out. The thought excites you. Cathy looked really pretty and you hope you'll be as pretty as her. Or even prettier! Time seems to vanish in an instant as you muse over all the pretty dresses you could wear and how you could do your hair and before you even know it, a huge stack of pancakes has landed themselves right in front of you.

Cathy sits opposite of you, but she didn't make any for herself. Catching your glance, she answers before you can even ask.

"They're all for you. Hope you like them!"

She doesn't have to say that twice! Though try as you might, you barely make it through half of the stack before you have to give up. Collapsing over the table, you push the plate over to her. With a chuckle she takes her turn to dig in.

With your hunger sated for now, an important question pops back into your head.

"Will I ever see them again, Cathy?"

She freezes, completely forgetting to chew the mouthful she had already taken before swallowing. She shakes her head lightly from side to side.

"It's just you and me now."

That doesn't seem so bad now.

Life with Catherine was very different, but you did enjoy it. She was away a lot, but you learned to look after yourself most of the day. When she wasn't away she was everything you could want in a sister. She told you fantastic stories of monsters and fairies and all the other things she met when she was away. You wanted to go too, but she insisted you were still too young. Instead she taught you to read and write, taught you maths, history, mythology, all from books she has around her house.

It wasn't until a few years down the line that she told you that you were ready. Apparently it wasn't enough to just learn, you had to make a promise to "the goddess." She had taught you a bit about her, apparently she protects and helps out children in trouble, children like you. And if you promise to do that too, she'll give you magic! You accepted of course, but first Catherine asked you one question, a question she said was very important.

"Why do you want to learn magic?"

>Because you want to make the world happier by doing helping everyone.
>Because you want to help someone, just like she helped you.
>Because you want to stop bad things from happening, like what happened to you.

You lock eyes with her, the years you've spent with her having done a lot to even the height difference. She's still your older sister, but she's not much of a big sister anymore as she stopped growing taller years ago. You give her your warmest smile as you answer.

"I want to help someone, just like you helped me. Make them happy, make them feel loved, and be everything that the world tried to take from them."

You spot a glint in her eye as a tear makes its daring escape from her eye. You haven't seen your sister cry since the day you met her. She quickly wipes the dissident from her face and nods solemnly as she hold out her hand for you to take.

"That will do."

Your heart skips a beat as you stare at the open hand. You've studied of course, you recognize the method of recruitment used in the order. You take her hand and immediately you feel it, a soothing sensation passing over your entire body like being lovingly wrapped in a warm blanket, shielded from a cold you never realized you had been living in for all of your life. A short moment and the feeling passes, leaving only a small fire burning in your chest. Just enough to keep you warm while still reminding you of the cold world around you. You can't wait to share that warmth.

Your line of thought is interrupted when Catherine throws herself at you, arms tightly wrapped around your neck. You hear a suppressed sniffle.

"You'll do great, Sis. Don't worry, I'll teach you everything!"

You return the hug, looking forward to spending day after day with your sister doing good.

And you probably would have, if the world hadn't hated you so much. You never learned what had happened, only that your sister disappeared on the job. You searched, but whatever fate had befallen her remained a mystery. You were alone again, and would be for years longer. But you didn't give up, ever eager to fight, and to soothe those who had no warmth. But more importantly, you wanted to find the one to share your warmth with.

Finally, at the age of 15, you found her. The one that needed you more than anyone else. But she could not be the sister you wanted. You couldn't ask that of her. So you waited, tried to help as best you could even if she would never know you. The loneliness was soul-crushing, but your sister taught you to be strong.

With time, she grew to be so much more to you than just that. You've never dealt with a creature like the one that torments her before. It's your 18th year but you still have much to learn. Honestly, you're not sure what you read will even work, but you've both worked hard to make this happen. Tonight, is the night you either save her, or lose her forever.

It's all you have.

And that's it for the Andrea special! This turned out MUCH longer than I planned, but I think I'm okay with it. It does mean I don't have time to even begin the ACTUAL part of episode 3 tonight, but I had fun and I hope you did too!

While I do have some energy left, I don't feel like we could get anything significant done, so I'll end the thread here. Thanks for playing and I hope you had a great time!

The plane-crash or whatever was just a regular accident, right? How'd Catherine know to be there and pick Andrea up?
>>
>>36471559
Yes, yes I can. Though I suppose I did end up saving it for the end of the thread.

>Because you want to make the world happier by doing helping everyone.
Defensive and disruptive focus, allowing her to cancel or mitigate the effects of offensive magics that you can expect episode 3 lolis to definitely have.

>Because you want to help someone, just like she helped you.
Same as Catherine, focus on mind affecting magic. Since this won, I'll mention that she uses this very rarely because she has actually been on the receiving end and didn't like it.

>Because you want to stop bad things from happening, like what happened to you.
Offensive magics, focus on disabling or outright harming and destroying if necessary.

>Write-in?
I'd just have made something up, it's not like any of this follows some kind of ruleset.

It's a pretty simple split, I know, but it works for me. Could have included cool stuff like alteration and such, but anything I don't use is just something I can give to hostile lolis.
>>
>>36472457
Same way Andrea knew exactly when to find you just a little too late to just outright stop the entire thing being a problem. Higher beings can be such bastards about when and what they choose to tell you.

As far as the plane goes, well, the "present time" of the quest is 2014. Andrea is currently 18 years old.

That's all I'll say about that.

Yeah, it is. But it serves my point of all of her sufferings being inflicted by cruelty of humans, rather than just nature. Was a little worried about stepping on some toes, but hey, that's the event I picked out of the list and it worked out okay I think.

Maybe one of the others would have been better, maybe not.

Oh and as for who and why, there's nothing huge there. Just the brother of her father who is way more successful with more money and a prettier wife and a better car but no child.

Hence he didn't want to take his old car there for the brother to laugh at and hence he wanted to bring his very cute and very well mannered daughter.
