If none are near, I just start lifting weights all day every day untill old enough to venture out and find fighting guru.

Time travel sounds awesome!

You quickly move into the circle, standing in the center. Tien, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, and Krillin follow. Your group turns to face Kami, who nods.

"Now, close your eyes..." he instructs.

You do so, and when you open them, you find yourself on another world.

Buildings all around you are in ruins, either crumbling apart, or nothing more than piles of rubble. The sky is an ugly shade of red, and the ground is littered with hundreds of corpses. Their armor, and the devices on their heads suggest that they are Saiyans.

"It looks like Kami didn't send us back far enough," Yamcha comments. "All of the Saiyans are dead."

"Yep, battle's over," Krillin agrees.

"Still, there's bound to be some other Saiyans skulking around, right?" Yamcha asks. "Let's just look around until we find them."

"Everyone try to sense them!" you suggest, immediately following your own advise.

After a few seconds of concentration, you sense two power levels.

They're big. Bigger even than Raditz, and much larger than any of you. Against one of these foes, you and your friends would have little to no chance. But there are two: you'll be walking into a slaughter if you go after them.

Looking at the others, you can tell that they've reached the same conclusion. Chiaotzu and Krillin look absolutely horrified, and Tien and Yamcha, though struggling to keep it together, are unable to hide their fear.

"Uh...what do you guys say we hold off on fighting Saiyans until later?" Yamcha asks.

"Sounds like a plan," Krillin readily agrees.

In an instant, the two power levels you sensed vanish from their spots and appear right above you.

"Now, now, we wouldn't want to keep you waiting," a shrill voice above you states mockingly.

"Yeah, we'll let you fight right now," a deeper voice adds.

Looking up, you get a good look at the two Saiyans.

They're both male. And they each wear armor identical in both appearance and color to what Raditz wore. One of them is on the short side, with a balding head, on which there is a noticeable scar, and a green energy sensing device. The other is tall, with dark hair, and a scar on his face as well. His energy sensing device is blue.

You don't think you'll be able to talk your way peacefully out of this confrontation.

So, you might as well hit them hard, and fast.

You lift your right hand, directing your pointer finger towards the larger target. The two Saiyans watch you, doing nothing more than smirking. Clearly, they know you're about to attack, and they are greatly amused by that fact.

"Dodon ray!" you shout.

A thin beam of light shoots from your finger tip, striking the Saiyan over his heart. At your side, Tien and Chiaotzu use the same attack, aiming between the large Saiyan's eyes, and in the center of the little Saiyan's chest.

Your shots pierce their armor, sending little bits flying from the spots the attacks struck. The two Saiyans look down at their armor, surprised, and Krillin and Yamcha take advantage.

"Ka...me...ha...me...haaaa!!!" the two shout as one, shooting blue beams of light at your foes, who look up just in time to see the attacks strike them.

A cloud of dust is kicked up, obscuring your vision, but quickly clears, revealing that the Saiyans are no longer there.

"Alright! We did it!" Yamcha declares triumphantly, fist pumping.

Chiaotzu lets our a joyful cheer, which turns to a terrified scream as the large Saiyan explodes from the ground beneath him.

Before Chiaotzu can react, the Saiyan grabs him by the head and takes off into the sky. Tien gives chase, but the short Saiyan appears in front of him and sends him crashing to the ground with a kick to the face.

It's time to see what this little guy is really made of.

While Chiaotzu screams for help, you rush towards the small Saiyan, who laughs and prepares for your attacks.

Lowering your right arm and raising your left, you divert your energy to your hands and picture a charging wolf in your mind.

When you reach the Saiyan, you begin your attack with a left handed punch, which your opponent easily dodges. You follow with a right handed claw attack, arriving at the same result. You continue your attack savagely, your frustration growing as your opponent dodges every last attack.

You finish your assault with a double palmed strike aimed at his chest, but the Saiyan dodges and knees you in yours.

You feel agony as you spit out blood, and an instant later, you hear Chiaotzu cry out in his own pain. Managing to look up, you see the small person go limp in the grasp of the larger Saiyan.

"Chiaotzuuuuuu!!!!!!" Tien cries out, shooting into the air and towards the large Saiyan.

Your opponent lowers his leg, letting you fall to the ground as he turns to pursue Tien.

You land on your stomach, and lift your head to see the large Saiyan carelessly toss Chiaotzu's corpse to the side as Tien rushes at him. After dodging a few furious attacks, the Saiyan punches Tien, sending him hurtling towards the smaller of your two foes, who catches Tien in a firm grip.

The larger Saiyan smiles sadistically, and flies to his comrade. The small Saiyan turns towards you, Krillin, and Yamcha, and with one quick motion breaks Tien's neck.

Tien and Chiaotzu were killed without even putting up a fight, and you've seen first hand that you are no match for these Saiyans.

Victory is impossible, what matters now is survival.

Pushing yourself to your feet, you tell the others to run as you turn and fly away from the Saiyans as fast as you can. Krillin and Yamcha quickly follow, as do the Saiyans.

Turning and briefly stopping, you shoot energy blasts at the ground, creating a smokescreen. When the Saiyans don't immediately reappear, you turn and fly after Krillin and Yamcha, who take cover in the ruins of a nearby building.

Landing with them, you see Yamcha struggling to keep it together, as afraid and enraged as he is. Krillin doesn't seem to be doing much better, but he seems a bit more composed than Yamcha.

"We have to suppress our power levels," Krillin tells the two of you.

Yamcha, still trembling with rage and fear, doesn't seem to hear him. Krillin, on the other hand, immediately drops his power, and you do the same.

He smiles. "Good. We have to wait for Yamcha to wake up, first, but when he does, we can hunt those Saiyans down."

And so, the two of you wait, keeping tabs on the location of the Saiyans while Yamcha remains unconscious on the ground. When he finally wakes up, he is less than pleased with you for knocking him out, but his attitude changes a bit when Krillin tells him his plan.

"Yeah, I'll try to get some good hits in for Tien and Chiaotzu," he says determinedly.

The three of you exit the building, keeping your energy levels as low as possible as you rise into the air, slowly making your way towards the Saiyan's location.

"Alright, you two hide nearby, I'll draw them out," Krillin tells you.

You and Yamcha lower yourselves to the ground and hide in nearby alleyways.

Krillin raises his power, and it takes only a few seconds for the Saiyans to respond, appearing in front of Krillin faster than you can register them moving.

"Well, look who came back," the short Saiyan comments.

"Guess he didn't learn his lesson the first time," the large Saiyan says.

Krillin doesn't respond, moving his hands in front of his face.

"Oh, I think he's going to attack," the short Saiyan says in amusement.

"SOLAR FLARE!" Krillin yells.

There's a blinding flash of light, and the next thing you know, the Saiyans are cursing and covering their eyes.

"Here's our chance!" Yamcha yells, taking to the sky and kicking the short Saiyan in the chin.

Krillin kicks the large Saiyan in the head, sending him flying into the distance.

In the DBZ universe if you catch someone off guard you can really hurt them. Krillin once knocked out Super Sayian Goku with a thrown rock because he wasn't expecting. They block damage by focusing ki in the area of hits.

So after we inevitably die and are set up for round two, who's up for trying to hold off a Saiyan while the others gang up on the other one? We don't have the same powerup after getting beat down ability as a saiyan (at least I don't think we do) but we'll probably have a faster rate of improvement than the others, maybe increased risk will help facilitate that growth.

While Krillin flies in pursuit of the large Saiyan, you join Yamcha in attacking the small one.

As Yamcha attacks your foe with his Wolf Fang Fist, you shoot a Dodon Ray at the chink in his armor. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to do much damage, nor does Yamcha's attack.

The small Saiyan, able to see once again, delivers a kick that breaks Yamcha's neck and sends him falling to the ground. He looks at you, scowling and extends his left hand towards you. A ball of light appears in it, and a flash is the last thing you see before everything goes black.

When you open your eyes, you are standing in the pendulum room, Mr. Popo and Kami staring at you passively.

Looking around, you see the others reacting with shock at the realization that they aren't dead. Kami and Popo remain silent as you all compose yourselves.

"We're...alive?" Tien asks.

"Yes. You will find that you cannot truly die during your experiences in the chamber," Kami tells him. "You can feel pain, you can gain strength and wisdom, but you cannot die, and you cannot change the past or future."

"Well, that's a relief. We got slaughtered," Krillin comments.

"I trust now that you understand just how dangerous this situation is," Kami says calmly. "But, I feel I should tell you this: the Saiyans on their way to Earth are more than twice as strong as the two you just faced."

Sure but we're powered to a degree by our self confidence if I understood correctly. So long as we believe X is possible we should have a chance of doing X. Since our edge is not having the same self imposed limits as most of humanity, it's probably best if we don't feed our doubts. We also have Krillin and Yamcha on board to cover any reasonable and unreasonable pessimism. This is mostly a guess based on what we heard when we visited the temple though so I could be wrong about the doubt/confidence thing.

Doing as he says, you find yourself standing in front of a familiar looking crater, at the bottom of which sits a space pod.

The pod opens, and Raditz steps out.

Krillin steps back nervously, and Chiaotzu floats back. Tien and Yamcha get into fighting stances beside you, and Raditz floats up, landing on the edge of the crater.

"Well, a little welcoming party," he comments, glancing at each of you. "Let's see what kind of power you have."

He taps the device on his head, looking at Yamcha. "Two hundred."

He looks at you and starts scanning. "Three hundred."

He looks at Tien. "Three hundred-twenty."

He looks at Krillin. "Two hundred-eighty"

He looks at Chiaotzu. "One hundred-sixty."

"Hmm...a bit larger than I was expecting," he comments. "Still, Kakarot must be weaker than I thought if he hasn't managed to take over this world."

"Everyone, attack!" you shout, lifting your right hand and pointing a finger towards Raditz.

He laughs. "You fools! You don't have any chance against the likes of me!"

"DODON RAY!" you shout, striking Raditz with a thin beam of light.

It strikes the device on his head and continues into his eye.

"AGH! Damn you!" Raditz yells, lashing out with a kick that sends you hurtling far into the distance, the wind knocked out of you and terrible pain filling you.

You can just barely see Tien and Yamcha attacking the Saiyan warrior, only to be beaten back almost immediately. Krillin and Chiaotzu unleash their energy attacks, which Raditz deflects easily, rushing at the pair and punching each in the gut.

Yamcha gets back to his feet and attacks with his Wolf Fang Fist, which Raditz easily blocks and counters with a kick to the jaw that sends Yamcha sprawling.

You get back to your feet, and watch as Tien slowly rises into the air, making a triangle with his hands and gathering energy.

Krillin and Chiaotzu, meanwhile, prepare more attacks.

"You idiots just don't learn, do you?" Raditz asks. "You're all going to die. And, since you broke my scouter, I'll make sure it's an extra slow and painful experience."

You need to give Tien as much time as you can.

So, you charge Raditz as fast as you can, lowering your right hand and raising your left. You picture a charging wolf, and focus your energy to your hands. Taking it a step further, you focus the energy so that it forms around the outside of your hands, almost like gloves.

You know doing things this way will cause you to lose energy, but it should make your attacks hit harder.

Raditz stands his ground as you attack, blocking and dodging your strikes, laughing as you continue to attack. Krillin and Chiaotzu join in, but even the three of you are no match for Raditz, and are knocked back.

"Well, you're stubborn, I'll give you that," Raditz comments, slowly approaching. "But, you have no hope of defeating a warrior like me."

"You sure about that?" Tien shouts from above.

Raditz looks up, chuckling. "You have no chance against a Saiyan Warrior. But please, let's see what your little attack can do, three-eyes."

"Alright then, you asked for it," Tien tells him.

"TRI-BEAM!" he yells,a triangular shaped beam of energy shooting from his hands and striking Raditz in an explosive blast.

Tien falls to the ground and doesn't get up, and when the smoke clears, Raditz is hunched over, clearly in great pain, his armor gone, and breathing heavily.

"H-how?" he gasps, coughing. "How can such a weakling do that?"

We need everyone to learn Tri-Beam, or at least the principles behind it so they can start using their life force to overcharge their attacks.
We'd all be able to hit way above our weight class if we could do that.

OP what is even the point in giving us choice? What we choose doesn't affect the story. We can just decide how to attack the overpowered enemy. I am sure you can do that better.

You fall to your knees, exhausted, and look up to see Raditz to the same.

"D-Damn you..all," he wheezes as he collapses and stops moving.

You find yourself back in the pendulum room, Kami and Popo now absent.

"We won!" Krillin shouts excitedly.

"Yeah, but it took a lot. And the Saiyans that are coming are going to be a lot stronger," Tien reminds him.

"Well then, we just have to get a lot stronger!" Yamcha comments.

"And we will," Tien says with confidence.

Most of the fighters focus on attacks that they are very well-skilled in. They all have access to other abilities and Ki attacks, but they use the most efficient and most well-trained if abilities they have access to. Why?

Because they aren't like spells, they don't have consistent effects just for throwing them out there. Knowing a technique more results in a more powerful, more useful attack - Shit, Goku used to sorta-fly by firing Kamehameha with his feet, and got used to firing it instantly if he needed to, for example.

Like they say, be afraid of the man who's practiced one technique 1000 times, not 1000 techniques once. Perhaps learning more techniques comes at the cost of the techniques being less powerful.

We have time to practice. Learn which ones are useful and focus on them. We are starting to see Dodon Ray is useful, fast hitting and piercing, and Wolf Fang Fist, even with the tweak seems like it is getting outclassed already. Kamehama is obvious. Solar Flare would be good for defense and for getting the drop on opponents, we did see that.

Wolf Fang Fist on its own and enhanced does seem weak yeah. Though it could be the basis of developing a technique to simply empower any and every physical attack in a similar way. Not sure how worth it that would be. If we could find a way to turn Dodon Ray into a beam sword, like a super weak version of whatever the hell Vegito did, that could be neat. Like say combine the teachings of Destructo Disc (cutting power), Dodon Ray (line shape with a tight concentration of power) and Wolf Fang Fist (enshrouding and shaping an attack with Ki).

Obviously normal ki blasts and flying too. Not much to work with as far as options go. Wouldn't hurt at the very least to get Solar Flare for the ability to set up sneak attacks or regrouping. The combining techniques seems interesting and could be fun to mess with if OP allows it.

Honestly, if we just got solar flare, we probally don't need much more in terms of arsenal right now. Hell, it seems like great moveset there, use dodon ray for quick attacks and stall with solar ray to charge for kamehameha.

Though, I'd argue that we're just using WFF the wrong way. The way the QM had Yamcha describe it, it should be a desperation move we use when we're spend on ki.
