>Nah, I’ve still got one last thing to do, then we can go.

“Nah, I’ve still got one last thing to do, then we can go,” you shrug as you casually approach Amy and cop a feel. They’re no larger than b-cup you’d say, perky, firm, the scales make them less soft and more actually supported than you would see even with a bra. Her nipples are in fact covered by scales, and not just her hair.

Amy raises an eyebrow at you, “I assume that was ‘for science’ as well?”

Shadow Alex grumbles, ”Definitely Summer on this front, can’t even play with nipples without work, still though another shadow credit your way.”

“Pretty much,” You nod as Amy sighs.

“Right then, lets get this over with, the sooner we get done with this, the sooner I can pay you back,” Amy practically growls as she heads inside the abandoned warehouse.

Anna is the first to follow, “You don’t mind if I watch?” she glances between you, Jessica, and Amy, “After this I mean.”

Amy shrugs, “Nah, not really. Hell you could join if you really want to.”

Summer grins, “Awesome, if thats not motivation to finish this quickly I don’t know what is.”

You follow after Summer and Anna, you note Jessica is following you rather closely and you keep an eye on her. Mary brings up the rear trailing behind you all.

“I do hope you don’t plan on leaving me out of it,” she gives a bubbly laugh, “I’ll manage to get full for a week.”

Amy’s about to say something as she hits the barrier and disappears in a swirl of magic. Anna and Summer both follow after, and for the first time you realized just how weird that really looks. You shrug and head inside and see an old castle with a lowered draw bridge and a path that leads down underneath it, probably to a servants entrance or something of the sort.

Amy whistles, “Well how do we want to do this, all in one group or split up? I personally vote all down the bridge, and find the thone. It’s gotta be where its at.”

Mary points to the path leading down, “I-I’d rather go down there… as a group”

Summer looks between the two, “We’ve got six, why not two groups of three? I call team captain of one group.”

Anna shrugs, “I don’t really care either way, so long as we get it done.”

Jessica looks between Summer and Amy, “I’ll go where Amy does, she looks sturdy.”

You hum, wondering if you can’t convince them to settled on an idea.

I really, really hope Beth's next change make her as chill as Alex and waaaay more lecherous than she is right now.
>>
>>36356623
Maybe the fact we have a girlfriend AND a Pet Catgirl, both of whom have expressed concern about us being a bit too willing to give in and indulge?
Or the fact that, no matter how awesome Shadow Alex is, she is still more interested in indulging in pleasures and good old fashioned hedonism than in what is actually good and healthy for us?
Granted, we can talk tp her and hopefully make her less "Id personified" and more Human in hee thought processes.

>smut quests.
This. Is. Not. A. Smut. Quest.
This is a quest with smut in it. The smut was not meant to be the point of the quest from the start.
I understand that many of us want more smut and I would love to see an orgy involving Demon amd Dragon girls, but such things have consequences.
Not CONSEQUENCES, where things happen just to make us suffer, but consequences as in the things that actions have in real life.

You can't expect fo cheat on your girlfriend and then have everything go perfectly well.
>>
>Go in through servants quarter

“Has no one ever seen, or played any media in the last ever?” You shake your head in disappointment, “When people split up bad shit happens, every single damn time.”

Summer frowns, “That’s actually a good point…”

Amy shrugs, “So what do you suggest then?”

“Why not go in through Servants quarters and at least pretend to be sneaky before it all goes to shit and we fight our way in anyways.”

Amy shrugs, “Sure, I still like going in the front better, but whatever,” she leads the way down into the dried up moat, a small wooden bridge leading across the river bed and around the castle base. Theres a small wooden door that looks like its decaying and barely sturdy enough to hold its own weight.

Anna gives the door a tug only to find it doesn’t budge before Amy gives it a swift kick that causes it to become splinters.

Mary sputters at this, “Wh-why didn’t you just take the hinges off!?”

Amy burning red eyes focus on Mary, “Because this was easier, faster, and stress relieving.”

Summers is wandering into the halls already using the light from her staff to lead the way, humming as she does so. You follow after into an open room with several bunks covered in tattered rags and hay filled mattresses. Summer’s stopped at the start of a hallway, motioning for you to hurry up.

“You want to take the left and I’ll get the right?” she gestures to the hallway.

With a quick look you realize what she’s talking about as there’s two demons, the left one looks to be a minotaur and the right a classic looking water elemental that is hosing down the minotaur.

>Yeah, sure.

>Discussing smut or not smut again

Honestly someone last thread brought up a good point of, "If I recommend this to someone else I have to warn them of smut" so by extension I'd say its fair to call it a smut quest.

That aside does it really matter if its a smut quest or not? Outside of some people not actually wanting to read smut.

>Yo’ Freight train, there’s a job for you.
>Use shattered mirror on the minotaur.

You glance at the minotaur then back to Amy arguing with Mary, “Yo, Freight train, there’s a job for you.”

Amy looks over, “Yeah? Good I was done with this anyways,” she leaves Mary who’s even less visible than usual behind and takes a look, “Which is mine?”

“The one on the left, I’ve got the water thing,” Summer’s explains as she starts charging magic into her staff, the head of it growing brighter as she does so.

“Sweet,” Amy grins and claps her hands together a small spark of flame growing between her hands into a proper fireball, though it doesn’t stop there as she pulls it out to be the size of her torso.

While you’re watching this you reach into your book of mirrors and give a tug on magic planning on weakening the minotaur.

Summer finishes her attack first, sending a small bolt of lightning towards the water elemental that fizzles out mid way there.

It caches both demon’s attention though, just before you throw a person sized mirror at the Minotaur. He punches it, probably trying to knock it away, you grin as it shatters sending large shards that stick into his chest and face.

Amy laughs, probably at Summer, causing you to glance her way; you nearly flinch back as its gotten to almost too large to fit down the hallway. She steps back before giving it a solid punch sending the over sized fireball down at the Minotaur.
1/2
>>
>>36357886

It roars and tries to punch it back, once again a bad idea and the fireball explodes evaporating all the water save for half of the Water Elemental. After the smoke clears you see the Minotaur on its knees, mostly charred.

Amy looks surprised that the either of them are still alive, “Huh, how surprising.”

The Water Elemental is glowing, probably getting ready for an attack.

Out of the corner of your eye, you notice Summer blushing.

True. I was just commenting on the probability of getting at least what we need to succeed. I think we have a 12% chance on one roll (1/6 chance to roll a six times 26/36 chance to roll at least a 6 on the other two dice), though I'm not sure how to calculate those odds on a best of three basis.

>>36358104
Unless you're talking about the megooca, we can't take the elemental with us: it drops out when we drop the magical girl armor.
>>
>>36358130
And I forgot, that doesn't take into account what >>36358080 said about voluntarily taking darkness to boost our roll by six, in which case we would either need a minimum of twelve on all three rolls (I think an even fifty percent chance?) or a single six.

>Counter the water Elemental. You’re not sure if your normal attacks will work

Summer’s ducks behind the wall as the water elemental fires a glowing ball of blue. Amy doesn’t even bother moving out of the way as she readies a bubble of flame around her.

You pull on magic, and feel it respond willing to you, perhaps a little too willingly, as you throw out two mirrors. Each on either side of the water bolt, and you slowly shrink it down until their back to what will fit inside of your book. With a smile you store it away for later. A rather simplistic ability, you decide but probably handy.

Amy shrugs and sprints down the hall with her flame bubble still up and dive tackles the minotaur exploding as she does so. Literally roasting the Minotaur who tries to Elbow drop her.

Summer see’s her chance and slams her staff down into the ground causing the Red lightning ontop of her staff to flash dangerously. A flash and thunderclap that happens practically at the same time hits the water elemental who evaporates leaving cracked stones and a blue core where it was standing.

Amy stands up with a grin holding the brown core that the minotaur left, “You called for a Freight train, I delivered.”

>No kidding, shit.
>Yeah? I can see why you don’t do subtle.

“Yeah?” You grin at Amy, “I can see why you don’t do subtle, fuck if I hit like that I certainly wouldn’t even bother with anything other than straight forward.”

Amy nods as she starts heading down the hallway, core in her left hand, “Never bothered with anything but myself.”

You and Summer follow after, Anna behind you two with Jess and Mary in the back.

Summer huffs, “I can do that too. I did it with the lightning strike.”

“Sure, but that first strike was pretty awful and ruined first impressions,” you taunt Summer with a smile.

“Well its not like you’re exactly impressive, you hardly hurt the minotaur with that exploding mirror,” Summer points out.

You almost laugh, “That’s because that doesn’t hurt as a primary function. It weakens whatever it hits and deals damage as a secondary action.”

Summer opens her mouth to counter, then frowns having nothing really to come back to that.

Amy has turned ahead, leaving the hallway and started heading up the stairs, “I’m heading this way, I doubt it’s down here.”

Summer shrugs as she starts to follow after Army, apparently not too worried either way.

You cringe as they don’t finish exploring one floor before moving onto the next, your senses as a gamer are screaming at you.

Anna looks between the stairs and the hallway cringing much like you are.

>You have to finish exploring this floor… its a rule almost.

You look up at Amy and Summer, then back to the hallway, “Yo’ Ive got to finish exploring this hallway, it’ll drive me insane if I don’t.”

Amy looks back at you and shrugs, “I’ll be fine. Hurry up, unless you’re scared to go alone?”

You shake your head, gesturing to Anna, “We’ll be fine, especially if everythings like that last fight.”

Jessica looks between you and Amy before following her, Mary shortly behind her, “No offense but uh, I’ll stay with them.”

You briefly think back to movies and video games but shrug and figure if shit hits the fan you can always summon Shadow Alex.

Anna has already started moving down the hall hardly waiting for you as you call out to the others, “We’ll catch up, later,” and jog to catch up to Anna.

There’s three doors on either side of the hallway, no light coming from the cracks in them or the frames, save for the last door at the end of the hall, its a double door.

Anna looks you then all the doors, “You want to hit the one at the end first or check to make sure these aren’t filled with Demons in wait?”

“You ever hear the saying go big or go home?” You ask Anna, already walking for the last door, “Because I’m feeling that right about now.”

Anna chuckles, “Sure, I’m still going to check them on the way out though, it’ll drive me insane otherwise.”

“Sure,” you nod as you push open the double doors into a wide room that’s clearly an Armory, two demons stand in the center, one a large burly looking man with more beard than face and glowing red hair and black eyes; no mouth to speak of. The second demon is in black plated armor and is getting his sword worked on, he’s got a shield on his left arm.

Anna instantly reaches for her greatsword, while moving into the room and into the open space on the right side of the pair.

It’s with a flash of momement that the black swordsman pulls his sword from the smith and spins bringing the sword down onto Anna who manages to knock it away with ease while setting up for a strike under his arm. The armor does a decent effort of stopping her attack as he steps back bring his shield to bear.

The smith is a bit slower moving and by the time you’re deciding what to cast he’s realized the sword he was working on is no longer there. His beard starts smoking as his eyes turn white and focus on you.

As you get more and more used to using magic, it dawns on you that you don’t really have to pull a mirror from your book for this; with a snap of your fingers and a flare of magic you split into eight copies of yourself, each no longer required to do precisely the same thing, or even be evenly spaced out.

You can’t help but laugh as the Smith picks up and throws his anvil at you, something that you just side step out of the way, or at least you thought you had when it explodes making your ears ring and taking out two of your images in this enclosed space.

“Fuck me!” Anna shouts her ears flat to her head, disrupting her swing just enough for the black knight to get his shield up in time, using both of his arms to block the strike.

Another look at the Smith shows he’s already holding another Anvil and slowly trying to throw it, it seems even with how built he is those things are heavy as fuck.

You glance at the shards left behind from your mirror images shattering, then back at the smith who’s already thrown the anvil; with a start you dive out of the way, one of you anyways, and snap your fingers with yet another you. A third you punches for emphasis and the shards fly from the ground aiming for his eyes.

The smith manages to bring an arm up in time to protect his right eye, the same cannot be said for the left so much. The fragments of mirror shred the eye as the explosive anvill hits the ground taking out you’re diving image in a moment.

”Yo, let me out so I can talk shit, come on I know you’re busy right now so I’ll do it for you,” Shadow Alex asks, as a sharp ring and a clatter from behind makes one of your images look.

Anna’s managed to shatter the sword arm and you see fragments of its frozen parts on the ground, the sword still intact sliding across the stone floor. Her ice blue eyes are glowing.

The smith seems to have given up on the Anvil as he charges the remaining five of you with a hammer, his beard literally fire as is his hammer.

>You can have this.

You see the Smith all fired up and ready to go, when you remember the water bolt stored away. Its with a grin that you pull the two mirrors the attack is stored between, and shatter the side facing him.

The waterbolt hits true and extinguishes his beard and hammer alike covering his face with shards from the broken mirror. His momentum carries him forward and you step out of his way. Its with a loud crash that he slams into the wall and slumps there before shrinking down into a glowing red core.

You brush your hands off thematically as you look over to Anna who’s gotten her sword stuck in the demons shield and can’t pull it out. You could help her finish it, but at this point it seems to be pretty harmless without it’s sword.

Shadow Alex is laughing at the whole ordeal, ”I can’t believe we put his beard out to kill him… thats, and then Anna over there, leg up on the shield that she froze having problems pulling out her own sword.”

You hum happily as you pick up the core, glad Shadow Alex is having a grand ol’ time, and swallow the core find that it tastes like smoked bacon. It makes your mouth water and even want for seconds but sadly there is none to be had.

You glance over at Anna and see that she’s still struggling, “Yo’ you need help there?”

Her eyes snap to you, “What do you take me for..?”

“Someone who can’t pull their sword out of a shield,” you shrug, “You didn’t answer the question though.”

Anna grunts before giving up on her sword and forming a large icicle from above and crashes it down. It stabs down into its shield arm shoulder though the demon still doesn’t die off only falling over with its now horribly unbalanced self.

You smirk as Anna stands on the now grounded shield and yanks her sword from it, “Took you long enough.”

She practically growls in response as she behinds the demon and watches it fade into just a core that glows purple.

“Look unlike you I didn’t exactly have the easy squirt water in his face and he dies demon,” Anna defends herself, “Besides I like to watch.”

“Huh, you meant that in more than one way?” you ask as you look around the room spotting plenty of tools and weapons all of them looking horribly outlandish and straight from a game. There’s a bed in the corner that has fragments from your broken images stuck in it.

As you look at the weapons, they begin to waver and with the aid of your eyes you can tell they aren’t actually real, just another portion of this nightmare.

Anna shrugs, “I meant it plenty of ways, lets finish searching these rooms then catch up with the others,” she’s got her core in her left hand, saving it.

Thanks to your eyes you can see large containers of magic, two of which are pulling in and the middle one is pushing magic out through the ceiling.

You leave that door open, then head to other two only to see the same thing. A quick glance into the room Anna is currently exploring reveals the same exact thing.

If the death ray idea is workable, it might be good use of a sc to setup. It should be a strong trump card against the apparently really powerful boss demon, and we have multipe sc available at the moment.

Plus it would really show up some of the other magical girls: they can brag about lightning/fireballs, we have our lazor.

We're going into a dangerous situation, having an ace up our sleeve will almost certainly be handy, either to take out the Boss, or to splatify a Demon who shows up at a really inconvenient time, and should impress the others. Mirrors allow for all sorts of bullshit tricks.

Not sure if Magic or Fury, in previous rounds the Shattered Mirror Debuf/Attack was the most used power and that was Fury. On the other hand most of the other powers are Magic.

Calling here. Writing now ish.

In the mean time though, I've questions about combat for you all.

I feel like the major problem is how little each post of combat accomplishes, but throwing several actions in constantly changing situations doesn't really work yeah?

Thoughts?

Well, this is kind of a bosh rush situation which is just a shit idea in general.
A better idea would have been having a few threads of one demon each, then the fallen god as the boss of the arc. Give us downtime between each fight to get to know the other megucas and whatever.
>>
>>36367416

Christ, how long do you want to drag this on for? Small fries should stay that, small. Dedicating a full thread for trash? Bloody waste. For the end Boss sure. But not these.

There are probably going to be alot more effect per turn when we have the entire group vs boss demon(+minions?). Tuning the system for these little battles might ruin it for the big ones.

Does this look right to you guys? I don't think it's right, it shouldn't be possible to roll anything between 29 and 36.

We have done two combats in a single thread, that is a pretty damn good pace.

In comparison, in another quest it took 3-4 threads for us to complete the first dungeon.

As you’re trying to decide whether or not to fuck with it or not, Shadow Alex speaks up.

”... You know? I think we can use this. If you spend a credit here, I can fuck with your storage ability, and have it constantly store as much of this magic as it can,” she pauses, before continuing in a more excited tone, “Then when the time comes, kaboom. Well not for us, for whoever or whatever you point it at.”

You let out a chuckle before nodding, ‘Sure, lets do that. A pocket death lazor is never a bad idea.’

You pull two mirror from your book as Shadow Alex brands the back of both of them with a characterization of her, and your face, ”There, just uh… put both of them at the exit, yeah. It should work, honest.”

You pause for a moment, ‘You have got to sound more… sure when handling things like this. Its like a bomb of magic, and you just hesitantly told me to cut the red wire.’

”Yo’ trust me on this if you die, I die. I want to live just as much as you do,” Shadow Alex points out.

You shrug, ‘Thats good enough for me,’ before quickly placing the mirrors where you were told. With a few quick steps back, you’re glad to find that nothing has exploded yet, and the magic leading up to the ceiling is being trapped between your mirrors just as planned.

Anna pokes her head in the door, “You done searching yet?”

“Yeah, I’m good, just found these tanks in all the rooms,’ You exit the room and head for the stairs.

“Same, so in short a whole lot of nothing, I almost broke them but they smelled off so I didn’t,” Anna shrugs, still holding onto the core she picked up.

“It’s probably for the best, they’re filled to the brim with magic. They’d probably explode or something,” you comment as you start to climb the stairs up.

“Huh, glad I di-” Anna is interrupted by another thunderclap echoing through the castle, followed a wave of heat.

You rush up the rest of the stairs and see Mary ducking into the hallway with Jessica not far behind her.

Jessica’s ‘eyes’ lock onto you as she shouts, “Negotiations failed!”

I'm terribly awful at that. I get really picky about the relevance of each image, and how if its not close enough I will database dive until I get the exact right image. This all takes like one to two days each time.

Then I forget where I saved it because I thought I'd be clever and put it somewhere easy to find and not just the downloads folder.

I might just go through and find a bunch of brown ab girls and link that with posts for semi related to Alex.

This is pretty damn close to Summer's face.

A folder on the desktop called QUEST STUFF.

save all your notes, images etc into subfolders of this one, and back it the fuck up regularly to a cloud service, so your notes dont die if your HDD does.
>>
>>36368004
My notes are actually all in a 170 ish page google doc that is saved on my laptop after every thread keeping up to 3 threads prior. It also contains tidbits about ideas that will likely never be used.

The other notes is also google doc shit. Very handy cloud documents

I think we all enjoy quests when Haphazard runs them.
>>
>>36367602
Guys seriously can't anyone try and work out if this is shit or not?
Because according to that math, the chances of succeeding each skill roll are:
Mirror Match: 99%
Shattered Mirror: 95%
Return to Sender: ???%
Mirror Image: 99.999%
I'll Be Taking That: 59%
Perfect Reflection: 90%

So next chance we get to train we should focus on IBTT since that's the only skill that can be expected to fail regularly. RTS is probably 2EZ as well due to Shattered debuffs.
>>
>>36368067
Thanks, I'll be honest this is the most effort I've put into something like this.

Any time I get started on something that involves a lot of writing I get very skittish and bail pretty quickly.

I suppose the point I'm making is I must enjoy it too because I've no intention of stopping.

In other news:

Not sure when next thread will be with Thanksgiving and all. I'll see what ends up happening, and keep you all posted.

>>36368102
That is... not the same math I had when I designed DC's I know the lower abilities were designed to be reliably achievable where the harder ones were supposed to be on occasion unless pushed for.

I vaguely recall much lower numbers on I'll be taking that though.
>>
>>36368119
Did you use the 'at least' tab?
>>
>>36368142
That's what I used, yeah. The rest of the data was completely useless in determining rolls. Yeah x might be hit y times but the at least tab is where its at for DC's
>>
>>36368158
Well, the roller function is throwing 32s at me which I KNOW is bullshit so something's wrong somewhere.
>>
>>36368165
The roll function is throwing 10-20 for me
>>
>>36368180
Up the number of rolls, 32 is pretty low probability.
Which is hilarious because it SHOULD be impossible.
>>
>>36368188
What the fuck is the difference between this http://anydice.com/program/4817 and the one in the thread.
>>
>>36368194
This is the right formula.

anydices does not like variables(x/y) for stuff like replacing dice. you need to use a function that actually replaces them instead of just cludging a number on top after the fact.
>>
>>36368227
I thought the dice in this thread looked very weird, a dice where it could be 1,2,3,4,5,12 shouldn't have a normal distribution. Hopfuly Haphazard >>36368158
>>36368119

sees this and dosn't change the oods.
>>
>>36368119
Hap he fucked up the formula, http://anydice.com/program/4817 is the correct one.
>>
>>36368194
I don't fucking know. Anydice is magic or something.
That one you linked actually makes sense, mine is clearly bullshit. However, that one doesn't use best-of-three.

http://anydice.com/program/4c87
MM: 96%
SM: 88.5%
MI: 99.999%
IBTT: 71%
PR: 85%

No quite as crazy but still pretty high. Getting more than one degree of success on anything but Image is extremely unlikely, except for IBTT which is actually flat-out impossible.
>>
>>36368263
Ah good found the correct one I did in that thread same odds as you just posted

http://anydice.com/program/4c88
>>
>>36368263
See reference in game mechanic to lower DC's as well as raise roll stat. It might be impossible now, but I doubt it will be that way forever.

That said DC's might be a little generous from dice flops, I can't remember its been like a month since i planned that shit out, and I didn't really leave notes on it that make sense.

I currently operate combat on basically a clash systetm which is why people hardly ever take damage, yourself excluded due to mirror image.

I have been toying with the idea of just adding up stats for defense, but haven't done that just yet.

That said I'm going to sleep. I need to actually go do things in like less than four hours.
>>
>>36368328
Sorry for keeping you awake with my terrible Anydice skills.
But I think our abilities having relatively low DCs is fine, they're kind of mostly support-spec'd, so we should be doing lower damage than DPS megucas like Kat and Doge.
Which was why I was looking forward to this teamwork thing, was hoping it would make us rely on others for damage. But then you just threw trash mobs at us that got oneshot'd.
Bossfight should be better.
>>
>>36368263
I am pretty sure it does not take doubling a DC for additional degrees of success.

with our 7 in magic that makes our maximum possible roll a 43 if we triple6, which is one shy of double the DC for IBTT.

http://anydice.com/program/4c89

second output is with the +7 magic built in to the roll, simply change to +5 or +4 for fury/heart as needed.
>>
also archived to suptg, remember to vote.
>>
>>36368368
Hap's stated previously that every multiple of the DC exceeded is +1 degree.
So the best way to boost our output is to train skills and lower the DCs, while nomming cores seems to just give SAlex fun stuff to do.
>>
>>36368352
The problem I have is I'm really bad at describing round by round combat, or at least I think I am and so I get really paranoid and want to fix it (something I don't usually do) so it takes a while.

I might do an experimental thread playing with descriptions of combat sometime or another as I'd like it to feel more alive and less standing around smacking each other with whatever stick you had.

It's difficult to do that on a system that requires rolls to hit Darkness though as too active and you change the situation, too dry and I might as well show you a spread sheet with numbers.

TLDR I suck at combat narration and I really want to be better, so I can put my OCD and paranoia to rest.

>>36368382
Nomming cores increases average damage on stat

Lower Dc's makes crits easier to happen.

>>36368380
Thanks anon I was actually just going to do that.
>>
>>36368396
Combat sounded fine to me, hell you even do details like the minotaur becoming crispy and the glass shards embedding in enemies.
>>
>>36367813
>>No time for banter, Shadow Alex, Fight Fallen god
I think your descriptions are fine. As for DCs for abilities, instead of upping them why not consider having a sort of success by degrees thing, where instead of having flat out success/failure you have failure/near failure/success but.../success/critical success? That way rounds will be shorter and Alex will get banged up a bit more instead of just breezing through combat.
