PREVIOUSLY ON MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Magical+Girl+Liberty

“Doctor Savage! Doctor Savage!” You groan in frustration, slamming down the portable phone. You look over to a communications officer. “Goddamn it! He won’t answer! Have our telegraphs gone through!?” The communications room is ablaze with activity, with officers running their radios, trying to get messages through to Doctor Savage.

The officer nods. “Affirmative! But we haven’t received any sort of answer back. Doctor Savage must be busy.” Or worse. Damn it, damn it, damn it!

You are Christine Hunter, Magical Girl Liberty, and you are on board the Sparrow blasting full-tilt to Doctor Savage’s Fortress of Solitude. If anything, you know Doctor Savage’s vanity. You wonder why he would even build a Solar Collector in the middle of the Arctic, and then you realize its science that you probably don’t understand at work. Damn it, damn it, damn it!

Sumire Kawanishi rests back on a chair, crossing her legs and chewing on an apple. “Relax.”

“I will not relax!” you scream. You near blast her off the chair by sheer power of your voice. “Doctor Savage is in extreme danger and we happen to be his only chance! Not just him, but the world too!” She stands up, rolling her eyes and walking up to you. “And you’re not helping one bit, so don’t look at me and-“

She shoves her apple in between your teeth, silencing you. “Seriously, you’re killing me here.”

You spit out the apple. “Sumire! Take this seriously! The world as we know it could be changed forever if we don’t stop this!” She opens her arms, then takes you tight in a hug. “Aghh! What are you doing!? Let go!” You try to fight her away.

“Ssshhh…” She whispers in your ear. “Don’t fight it, love.”

You try to push her away. “Get off me, Sumire!” Your resistance only makes her grip tighter. “Lemme go you greedy Jap!” She heft you off the ground, the brawler that she is. “Ah, come on! Let me go!” She starts carrying you out of the room. “Sumire, stop it! You’re embarrassing me!”

Sumire sighs as she continues bearhugging you, lifting you on out of the room. “You’re frisky today.”

-

-

She drops down on your bed. “Agh! You little-“ She shoves another apple into your mouth. You spit it out onto the bed and let it roll onto the floor. “Sumire! What the hell!?”

“You need to relax,” she says. “We’ll get up to the Fortress of Solitude, we’ll beat the dirty krauts, we’ll win. You’re not normally this loud you know.” She sits down next to you, again crossing her legs and frowning. “What’s got your underwear in a twist?”

You narrow your eyes. “Doctor Savage is like an uncle to me. If the krauts kill him, that’d be the least of my worries. But you saw what Engelhardt is pulling, and you see what else they have in store if they cut a hole into reality and bring in eternal darkness and demons that the Messengers had to run from! I don’t see how you can treat this so lightly!”

She shrugs. “To be frank, I treat a lot of things lightly.”

“Except money.” You roll your eyes, huffing.

You shouldn’t have said that. You should not have said that.

Sumire scoots towards you, leaning in and kissing you on the cheek. “I do care about you.” You smile, aww. “I just care about money too.” What. “Choosing between you both is like choosing between my arms, I gotta have both.”

“Typical.” You roll your eyes.

“Come on! Money makes the world go round!” She smirks, then rubs the top of your head against your arm, trying to act like the cute little kitten she’s not. “Come on…”

The intercom buzzes. “Chris. This is Jock. We’ve got our course laid out, we’ll arrive at the Fortress by tomorrow pending good winds and conditions.”

“Thanks, Jock!” you say. The intercom buzzes again, off. You look at Sumire, to which she smiles, trying to look good you think. “Don’t look at me like that. You’re not off the hook. You, Jeanine, Rana, Anneliese, all of you guys and then some are going to help bust the Magisch Korps here and now. Got that?”

She nods. “Okay, will you forgive me then for leaving you?”

You groan. “Just this once.” She’s gleeful, hugging you tight, less tight at least than when she carried you out of the Comm room. “Jeez, don’t embarrass yourself, Sumire, honestly.”

“Hey, tell you what.” She lets go, happily. “Next time I get a sadistic choice between money and you, I’ll choose you this time. Fair?” You nod. She happily places a kiss on your cheek, then on your neck, tickling. “Hehe!”

“Stop that!” you slap her away, trying not to laugh. She laughs in return, hugging you again. You return it by pulling her down on the bed. The both of you giggle, trying to place kisses on each other and make the other give up. You’re feeling frisky tonight.

Oh, you can’t stay TOO mad at her. After all, you’ve got a world to save.

You’ve gathered all the girls in the briefing room. You’ve got Sumire (Magical Girl Lightning), Rana (Magical Girl Bomber), Anneliese (Mecha Magical Girl Tiger), Jeanine (Magical Girl Siren), Cyclone and Nightlight (You can’t actually remember their names), Henrietta (Magical Girl Stringer), and Fortress (nor hers, you think it’s Grace Belle.) “Right,” you say. “Good morning to everyone. Hopefully, Jock’s made up good time for us, which means we should be close to the Fortress of Solitude.” You look up to the intercom. “Jock, any news?”

Jock responds with, “We’re picking up massive amounts of energy around the Fortress. Doctor Savage is probably already testing the Solar Collector, at least that’s our best theory.”

“Alright,” you say. “First things first, we either secure or destroy the Collector, and we make sure Doctor Savage is safe. Those are our top priorities. Now, I’ll be…”

“… making sure Doctor Savage is safe and sound. We’ll get him into a bunker in the Fortress, and then we’ll join the other team in securing the Solar Collector. I’ll be taking Sumire, Anneliese, and Rana. Henrietta, you’ll take everyone else in securing the Collector. It’ll be a two-pronged attack. We keep them away from either of them until they give up or we completely destroy them. Got it?” They all nod. “Good, good. You might want to prepare yourselves, I’m sure this will get ugly, but this is what we trained for. So try not to get yourselves killed out there, got it?”

“Got it!”

With that, you clap your hands. “Dismissed!” Everyone starts dispersing, discussing the plan at hand.

Henrietta walks over, smiling at you. “Liberty, I am glad you chose me for the assignment. I will not let you down.”

You nod. “I should hope not. You’re one of our best.”

She beams even brighter, happily. “And I suppose when we beat back those darn krauts, maybe we’ll even strike Hitler, keep him from pulling his expansionist antics, ya?”

You sigh, placing your hand on Henrietta’s shoulder, keeping her from going too far with that. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Henrietta. We have a duty to ourselves and to country. There will always be men like Hitler, I am sure. And we’ll be there to stop them.”

“Fine fine,” she says. She pats your buttcheek, and you flinch in response at that, embarrassedly. “See you on the ground.” You roll your eyes as she walk away. Jeez.

You walk up to Rana, who wears a very heavy frown on her face. “Chris, I’m so sorry I let them get away with the Shard. None of this should be happening right now!” she says.

“It’s fine,” you say. “You didn’t know what you were doing.”

“It’s not fine!” she stomps her foot, turning a few heads in the briefing room. “I-… I feel so useless!” You look over to Anneliese and Sumire, who simply shrug, looking concerned. “I know you think highly of Sumire and Henrietta and Anneliese, but you must think I’m a total wreck!”

“No, I don’t think that,” you say. “Honestly.”

You nod. “I just did.” She looks at you, confused. “Rana, you’ve got to stop beating yourself up every time you get knocked down. The United States didn’t give up after Camden or Bunker Hill, no. They kept on fighting.” Rana curls her lip, attentive. “Every time you get beat, and escape with your life, that’s a lesson to learn. And it’s important to take them to heart. Every time you fall, you learn to pick yourself up. So don’t go despairing on me now, we’re almost at the finishing line, I can smell it.”

She nods, silent for a moment.

Finally, she says, “So, you think-“

“I don’t think. I know.” You pet her on the head, reassuringly. “Keep yourself going, alright?” She nods, smiling a little. You’ve gotten through to her.

Jock buzzes the intercom. “We’re about to approach the Fortress, ETA thirty minutes. Stand by.”

You open up the door and walk into the bridge. “Jock, how are things looking?”

He motions you forward. “See for yourself.” You look out the gondola, and see a giant dish rise out of the Arctic. Inside of it are rows upon rows of mirror panels, and at the center is a great big spire. It almost resembles a radio dish of some kind. Is Doc Savage trying to build a death ray or something? Jeez, you have to catch up more on his latest antics.

“Have we gotten through to Doctor Savage yet?”

Jock shakes his head. “Nah, he’s still busy apparently.”

“Damn it.” You grit your teeth. Then you see it, the Kleine Fraulein starts materializing into view, right above the dish. “There they are!” you shout.

Jock starts spinning the wheel. “I’m bringing us around!” He turns to the crewmen. “Full power!” You feel the Zep lurch as it starts to speed up. “Alright, Chris, time for you to do your thing!”

“Thanks, Jock!” You run out of the bridge and into the corridors of the Zep. “Sumire!” You drop down into the cargo bay, the great big doors opening leading to the ground. You see the girls all ready to drop. “You ready?!”

> “Race you there.”

You smirk. “Race you.” You hop over the side, arms and legs spread wide to slow your descent. You don’t even hear anyone else over the sound of the rushing wind. Here it goes though, one final effort. You start your transformation.

>> MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY! <<

You land in the snow, cratering it. Your team of girls land behind you, all transformed and decked out, ready to roll. “Let’s go!” You spin up your shield and toss it to the ground, letting it spin like a top on the ice. You jump on top of it and speed away towards the Fortress. Lightning, Bomber, and Anneliese follow you as well in their ways, while Stringer’s team splits off to defend the dish.

-

-

You bust down a heavy metal security door. “Doctor Savage!?” You look around, the offices are completely empty, but are also completely ransacked. “The krauts got here before us.”

Bomber gasps. “You don’t think-“

“No,” you interject. “Doc Savage is too smart to let himself get captured by regulars. Come on!”

The four of you continue on, towards the warehouses. You smash down the shutters, letting the giant door slam into the ground and reveal the darkened warehouse. “Alright!” you say. “Let’s-“ Your ears perk up. “Down!” A shot rings by you, whipping at your nose and cheek and knocking you down. Everyone ducks behind a crate or a barrel.

You plant your shield down and take a quick glance. Another shot rings out, pinging off the shield.

Well, well…

>> MAGICAL GIRL CROSSHAIR! <<

Crosshair is on overwatch, on one of the high catwalks overlooking the warehouse. “What’s the plan!?” yells Sumire.

“Go!” You kick your shields up, and dive for a crate. The top of it explodes into splinters, then you hear the crack of her rifle. Tiger and Bomber take one side, ducking between crates and barrels. You and Lightning take the other side. Thankfully, there’s quite a few crates and other items in between her and you, allowing you to break line of sight.

Suddenly, you hear another crack. You see a spark off the side of the wall, which flies right into a barrel of gas. The explosion sends you both to the ground, and you quickly roll out of the way of flaming debris. “Lightning!”

“I’m good!” she hops up, all good. You hear another shot, blowing another barrel, probably for Tiger and Bomber. You two quickly keep up the progress, and then see the catwalk she’s in.

“Heads up!” You crouch and bring your shield up overhead. Lightning hops up, then blasts off, jumping onto the catwalk. You stand, then take a running jump onto a wall, then onto a crate, then you smash your shield into the wall, then bounce off up onto the catwalk. You recall your shield onto your back.

Lightning charges at Crosshair, who turns to her wielding a giant Anti-tank gun. She fires, the shot slashing at Lightning’s leg and stunning her. “Ah!” You jump over Lightning and throw your shield.

Crosshair jumps up and snatches your shield out of the air. In one smooth motion, she throws it right back at you. You catch it by the grip and rush at her. The two of you clash, rifle and shields. You spin up your shields, sending sparks shooting up into the air, but her rifle proves just as durable as your shields.

She also responds with a headbutt. You double back, your vision blurred and blackened. She reaches into her holsters and pulls out a pair of C96 Mausers and raises them up. In the nick of time, your shields manage to block a barrage of 9mm bullets.

Bomber hops up onto the catwalk behind Crosshair and raises her twin Tommy guns. “Reach for the sky, punk!” Crosshair turns and fire a shot. One of Bomber’s guns explodes, and she immediately backs away in fright.

“Eat this, punk!” That momentary distraction was just what you needed. You ping Crosshair in the face, and she falls over onto the catwalk, KO’d. “Nice one, Bomber.” She smiles, happily. Lightning joins you, holding her leg. “You going to be okay?”

“I’m fine,” she says quickly.

“Tiger, how are you doing!?” You look down to see Tiger, her mech suit scorched and burnt, but apparently okay. “Good, good.” Your radio crackles.

“Liberty, this is Stringer! We have krauts all over the Solar Collector, we can’t hold them all, we need help!”

“I’ll send Bomber and Tiger out to you, Stringer. Just hold as long as you can, alright?”

“Got it!”

You look over to the two you just said. “Bomber, Tiger. Stringer needs your help. Go out there and shore up her defense, alright?” They both nod, ready. “Okay, get.” Bomber hops down onto Tiger’s back, and they immediately speed off out of the warehouse. You look over to Lightning. “You’re with me, come on.”

You both hop down from the catwalk and reach the service elevator. You slam the button, and watch the doors close, and feel the elevator descend down.

-

-

You burst into Doctor Savage’s office. “Doc!” You see him, in quite a bit of trouble.

>> THE STORM ACE <<
>> TIER ONE WUNDERSOLDATEN <<

He holds up Doctor Savage by the collar of his shirt. Doctor Savage is having none of it however. “You little sauerkraut sucking goon, I’ll break your arms and beat you to death with them!”

“Hey!” you yell. The Storm Ace turns his head to you, then throws Doctor Savage into a shelf, which collapses on top of him. He hefts up his heavy cannon and spins it up.

You can never really get rid of him, and he always shows up in the final fight.
>>
“Lightning!” She charges forth at the Storm Ace, slashing across his chest before he can get a shot off. He twists his body, throwing Lightning off. You respond with a shield bash to the mask, throwing him back towards the window.

He grabs Lightning and tosses her at you, throwing you both across the room. He picks up his cannon again and readies to fire at both of you.

“Hey!” You turn to see Doc Savage, stepping out of the rubble of his shelf and hefting up a great big gun. “Pick on someone your own size!” He fires a shot, which smashes right into the Storm Ace’s arm. After a pregnant second, it explodes, shattering it into a million pieces. However, still gripping the cannon, he tosses it at Doctor Savage, sending him back into the wall.

“Doc!” You stand up and spin up your shield. You smash it down on his foot, and he doubles over in pain. You kick him back, then watch him fly through the window. He’s down, but not out.

Doctor Savage stands up, throwing the cannon off of him. “I’m okay, I’m okay!” he says quickly. “Jeez.” He dusts himself off as you and Lightning look to him.

“We’ve got to get you to a bunker!” you yell. “They’re here for the Solar Collector!”

“Wait!” he says, walking up to you, frantic. “Get me to the control room! I’m the only one who can shut it down!”

You smash down the door to the control room, to see Nazi technicians and soldiers already having taken over. You and Lightning quickly slaughter them to a man, throwing them against walls, smashing them against the window, and slicing them to ribbons. “God’s sake, Christine, never thought I raised someone so violent!”

You throw down the last soldier, and look over at Doctor Savage. “Get the Collector off-line!”

He runs over to the central terminal and starts working the buttons. He bites his lip, groaning. “Ugh, damn it!”

“What?” Lightning hovers over his shoulder, curious.

“It’s already powered up to full!” he says. “We can’t just shut it down, the energy has to go somewhere and we don’t have any way of discharging it without blowing us all up!” Before Lightning can say anything, he says, “Yes, I’m aware that sounds stupid, but this was a prototype, damn it!”

“Then how do we-“ The window smashes open, revealing Knives and her three compatriots.

“Liberty, we need to stop meeting like this!” Knives licks her lips, hungrily. “People might think we’re enemies!”

“You need to stop this, Knives!”

Knives narrows her eyes. “That’s not my name, it’s-“

“No one cares!” says Rapier. “For the glory of Lady Engelhardt!” The four girls drop down and draw their glowing anti-magical namesake weaponry. You bring up your shields, blocking all four of them at once.

“Look out!” Lightning charges in, barreling them all over with a kick. She spins up her naginata for speed, then brings it down on Court Sword. A quick swipe of Sabre’s sword saves her from decapitation however, and the twin girls quickly begin their fight against your funny little Jap. Rapier and Knives draw their weapons at you while Doctor Savage skulks away to the side, knowing better.

“Come on!” you say. “You don’t want to live in a world where demons and other things are roaming around and eating people!”

“If Lady Engelhardt wills it, it shall be!” says Knives. She slashes at your shield, and Rapier follows up with a thrust, which slips between your shields and slashes at your hips. You wince, shutting your eyes and throwing your shield at Rapier. She gets conked in the head, KO’d as she falls over a terminal.

“Liberty!” You can hear Stringer over the radio. “We’re losing control of the situation , there’s too many of them! Engelhardt’s bringing the dish in!” You take a look out the window to see the Kleine Fraulein, spewing out troopers. Engelhardt is amongst them as she and Colby bring down the Shard to the center of the dish.

> Jump out and stop them

You jump up onto a terminal. “We need to stop them!” Lightning is being forced back by the sheer weight of the attacks from Court Sword and Sabre. You hope she can hold.

But then Doc Savage comes up from behind, and grabs their heads. He quickly smashes them together, KO’ing them and letting them slump to the ground. “Nice one, old man!” says Lightning.

Knives jumps onto your back, biting into your neck. Oh, not this again! You try to shake her off. “Ahahaha!” She laughs as she runs her tongue along your blood and flesh, scraping her teeth against the skin. God, that hurts!

But you still need to stop Engelhardt! “Doc, stay here! Lightning, come on!” You both jump out of the window and into the snow. You spin around, trying to throw Knives off. “GET OFF OF ME!”

“NEVER!” Lightning grabs her from behind and pulls her off. She throws her into the ground and whacks her in the face, stopping her cold. Okay, that worked. You both immediately make a run for the dish.

You slide down the multitude of shiny panels, squinting your eyes as the sun gets reflected right into your face. You stop just short of Engelhardt and Colby as they ready the Shard into place. “It’s over, Engelhardt-“ You feel the blood in your body stop dead, then feel every bone in your body force you to kneel. Lightning screams, forced to do the same.

“You’re right,” she says, now Magical Girl Puppeteer. “It is. Colby.”

Colby sits atop the shard, glowing. “Gladly.” Suddenly, the dish starts lurching, knocking you all off-balance. You feel yourself freed from Puppeteer’s control. “What is happening!?”

“It’s Doctor Savage, he happens to know how to put this back where it belongs!” you say. “He built it after all.”

“We still have the energy, we can still open the portal!” says Engelhardt. “Do it!” She raises her wand at you both.

You jump up and side-flip, tossing both shields at her with sheer momentum. They both connect, one to the face, and one to the knee. Engelhardt doubles over, pained. Lightning jumps up over you, bringing her naginata down. She catches the blade in her hand, then forces it backwards, knocking Lightning on the head and dazing her. Engelhardt hops back to standing position.

You recall your shields and charge at her, you smack her across the face with the boss of your shield, then spin it up and smash her in the back of the knee, again forcing her to kneel. “It’s over!” you scream. You kick her in the face, flooring her.

“Nothing is over!” she yells, she kicks out your knee, forcing you down. She quickly recovers and yells to Colby. “I need more power!”

“And you shall have it,” says Colby. Above Colby, a little line forms, which starts lighting the area. It tears open, like a ripped shirt, tearing into a starry sky. You can hear roars, shrieks, and whispers emanating from it. So that is the anti-magic dimension. Engelhardt grins, happily. “Now, the great monsters of fear and entropy are at your disposal!”

Suddenly a great big tentacle rises from it. Colby turns back, his eyes wide. “What? No! NOOO!” It swipes the big cat up, and pulls him in. You can hear the Messsenger scream for his life. Engelhardt’s grin is gone, and before anyone knows it, she too is grabbed by a tentacle. She gets pulled in as she grips at the panels and plates, anything for a hold. You do not know what they were expecting, but certainly not this.

You hold out your hand. “Take my hand!”

Engelhardt looks up at you, her eyes wide. Then she glares at you, pulling her hand back, almost hugging the tentacle. “I’ll be back.” Without another word, she is sucked into the dimension.

The great beast roars, trying to force itself through the opening that was than a doorway’s width wide. You and Lightning stand there, ready to face it.

>> THE ANTI-MAGIC BEAST! <<

Lightning grips her naginata. “So, got some big idea planned out?”

You spin up your shields. You can feel the heat glowing off them as they light up bright white. Hotter than anything on this good green Earth, they are the fires of freedom, the shields of liberty, the tools of a great nation. This beast which gnaws at you, and tries to escape into the material world that you and billions of others live in does not know the world of hurt that he is about to inhabit. “I got one idea,” you say.

You charge at him, crying like a banshee. It roars at you, shaking your vision and sending shards of glass everywhere. You jump up and raise your shields up high. Gravity solves the rest for you.

Your shields connect.

Everything explodes. The beast’s head shatters into a million pieces, splattering its blood and brains all over the dish. Glass explodes everywhere from the force and shock, and the dish itself cracks and explodes. The beast slumps back into his dimension dead.

Lightning cheers. “Whoo! You got him!”

“Yeah!” you say. “I just realized though that there’s still a hell of a lot of energy pent up in the Solar Collector!”

“So!?”

“That means it might explode-“
>>
>>36360421
You open your eyes, groaning, to see a white ceiling. You try sitting up, and open your eyes further, to see your chest bandaged up, and your right leg in a cast. You can hear the ticking of the clock now, on the wall. Everything is so sterile and white. You are definitely in a hospital, and this is a hospital bed, and you are recovering in a hospital.

You need to get your thoughts together.

“Good morning.” You look to the side to see Kirby, sitting on your nightstand. “I see you are awake.”

“What happened?” you ask. You hope you didn’t sleep through anything, a few months at most, it’d kill you if it was a year.

“The Solar Collector was destroyed by your attack, you and Lightning were caught in the explosion,” says Kirby. Oh no, Sumire. You sit up further, and then cry out. It’s as if something impaled you in the chest. “Calm down, you caught a piece of debris to the chest that they have not removed yet.”

“Where’s Sumire!?” you yell.

He points past you. You look to the other side to Sumire, reading a book and chewing on an apple. Her forehead is wrapped in bandages, and somehow even her thick eyebrows managed to escape the explosion. She’s covered up in a blanket, non-chalant. She looks to you, then smiles. “Ohayo.”

You reach over, throwing your arms out. You cry again, pulling yourself back into bed. Whatever that thing is, it’s in there deep and it doesn’t like you hugging slants apparently. “Ugh… I’d hug you, Sumire.”

“It’s fine,” she says. “Got some to the leg otherwise I would’ve just got up and done it for you.”

You look over to Kirby. “What about the Shard, and the Magisch Korps?”

“We confirmed the deaths of about 200 troopers. The Vierstern are missing, as well most of the Sturmkinder and the Storm Ace. It appears the Magisch Korps has lost most of its bite, as you humans would say,” says Kirby. “As for the Shard, we did not recover it, we assume it to either be destroyed or having been sucked into the Anti-Magic dimension.”

You nod, relaxing a bit. “Good, good. And everyone else?”

“No casualties.” That makes you smile, at least everyone got out alive.

The door opens up, revealing Rana and Anneliese. “Hey, they’re awake!” Rana runs over and quickly hugs you. “I’m so glad you’re okay! You’ve been out for a few days.” She holds up a vase of flowers. “And the Docs said they still need you for at least a few weeks to recover. Which is why I brought this vase!”

Annelise nods. “I picked it out.”

Rana pets Anneliese’s head. “She picked it out.” Anneliese glares at her a bit, then returns to smiling warmly at you.

“It’s good to see you guys.” You cross your arms, sighing deeply. “I’m glad we all made it out.”

Sumire nods. “Yep, and I still get paid for lounging around like this, which is good too.” You roll your eyes.

Rana sits in between the two of you while Anneliese stands at the door. “So, once you two get discharged outta the hospital, I think we should hit the beach or something!” You look at her, skeptical. “Don’t worry, I learned how to swim… sort of. But that the important part is relaxing and enjoying ourselves! We’ve earned it!”

You nod at that, smiling at Rana, Annelise, and Sumire. Kirby as well hops into your arms and curls up, just like the cat you always wanted. “Yeah, I guess we have.”

Finally, just a little bit of rest.
