Transformers Quest 24: Electric Hellfire part 2

Your name is Kracken, an old Transformer who finds himself drawn to trouble. Your current situation is no exception.

Laying on your back on the floor of a ship parked in a Quintesson owned garage, a whimpering Cybertronian at your feet and a snarling mech with a big mouth thrashing around, its large, wedge shaped body, more a maw with arms and legs, jammed between a chair and a computer station.

Springing up you growl. The Transformer on the ground groans while gripping his head. Possibly due to the mindcontrol device that was attached to it a moment ago, or because you tore it off.

The mech slams a thick tail against the wall and computer, denting panels and cracking the screen. It wants to stop you from saving the Cybertronian and once it gets free will either attack you or call for help.

That would be a hassle. Who knows what other forces the squids have in the garage, a massive building able to house starships. Not to mention how many mercenaries there has to be just outside.

On the other hand, there were Decepticons out there too. They probably wouldn't mind taking a crack at some Quintesson slaver operating just under their noses.

A hand grabs you. Looking down you see the Transformer reaching for your leg and groaning.

"H-heelp..."

You frown and glance at the reptilian mech who has managed to shred most of the chair and will likely get out soon.

(thanks, glad to be back)

>Get the Cybertronian out of here. (You can use a stun grenade to stall the mech)

You stoop down and grab the Cybertronian, hefting them up then shifting to hold them under your arm. It's a little awkward in your beaded poncho but you manage to get it.

The mech snarls and snaps, flailing and squirming around. With a snarl of your own you detach your last stun grenade from your hip, prime it, and toss it at the struggling guard as you traipse out of the ship. A frizzling pop sounds from the ships exit ramp. You have a brief window.

Using your sensors you move around the least occupied areas. Not counting the Kobolians that is. While you don't doubt the other guard mechs and stilt-walking mechanics would raise an alarm the tiny little insectoids are probably to primitive to notice something amiss. Carrying a limp body around might set someone off eventually though.

You walk around the side of the ship as casually as you can, the Transformer between you and it. Luckily there are dozens of pile of parts and equipment laying around. Apparently tidiness isn't on of their prime concerns.

You detect three separate guard mechs, the same as the one you left behind, patrolling about. Along with a dozen stilt-legged mechanics.

You growl then look up. Thankfully the floating platform you saw the squid on is obscured from your view. You think you can detect its energy signature over the large land crawler.

>Try and walk out of there casually.
>Wrap the transformer in your poncho, they won't recognize you and you don't see the point anyway.

As long as the target stays in physical contact with you they can, but not while stealthing due to conflicting energy fields.

You need to get out of here, with as little attention as possible.

Creeping around a large sheet of metal being held up by an antigravity device you pause. You focus on the energon conduits running through you. They way your sparks channels and directs the energon. With a surge of will you darken, your shrouded form becoming hazy and indistinct. The twisting field extends over your poncho and turban as well as the Cybertronian held under you arm.

>Energon Reserve-125175

Now confidant that you will go unnoticed unless you wave your hand in front of someones face you move again.

You pass by a couple of mechanics who are too busy with their work and wait next to a disassembled ship canon as one of the guards stops to harass a bunch of Kobolian who are screeching at each other over some tiny components. After a moment you edge around its back and continue on, around a crane and along the side of some old, rusted craft that is barely larger than you.

>Rolled 3 success!

Moving through the garage proves easy. Most of the occupants are to busy with their work to look around and the guards are lazy and predictable. You find waiting off to the side while the march past effective, they only seem to bother with anything happening on the actual ships and most Kobolian stay well away from the ground.

You reach the land crawler and come across an impressive sight. the biomechanical construct is holding a truly massive gear, the thing must be five times your height and you can't even guess its weight. The construct is being assisted by a multitude of antigravity devices but its ponderous foots steps shake the floor as it eases the gear into the crawlers tracks.

Carefully moving around them you step over a knot of Kobolians then detect something.

Flicking your gaze up you see the Quintessons' command platform drifting overhead. You also see a bubble on the bottom of it with a single, living eye flicking from side to side, watching the area.

>Rolled 3 success.

You hold still.

The eye twitches and turns. Its gaze staying in place for no more than a second. It rest on you, or your general area, and your mouth curls in a snarl.

Then it flicks away. Exactly one second later.

The area around the crawler is rattled by a loud click. The Kobolians on the constructs back rush climb up its arms and scuttle around the gear and into the vehicle. The small group between your legs run and climb up the beast, little devices and tools clutched in their hands.

You speed walk away as quietly as possible, twisting around the back of a guard who just stands there watching the others work.

Once you are moving along the side of the crawler you decide to get a hold of Gyro. There are no workers in earshot of your whispers.

"Gyro, come in."

A moment passes before she responds.

"What?" She sounds annoyed.

"This place is run by squids."

"Oh. Oh now that just figures."

"You should get moving." You growl.

You reach the front of the crawler and see Gyro. She is arguing, loudly, with the mechanic from before in that high pitched language of theirs. A guards is standing between them looking like it is trying to diffuse the argument but failing miserably. The two are arguing right over its head, literally in the case of the long necked mechanic.

That is when a low wail starts up. Barely audible at first, it builds into an aggravating screech that rings in your head.

Seems that guard finally got to its friends.

Turning your speed walk into a run you twist around a gravlift, around the mechanic who is now scurrying about low to the ground, grab Gyro by the waist and bolt for the exit.

You push yourself as a large blast door rumbles down.

>Rolled 2 success.

With the massive door coming down and Gyro kicking at your legs in panic you decide to change gears.

Your energon conduits still firmly in your mind all it takes is a slight tweak and refinement. You feel a sensation like your legs becoming longer, your stiff run becoming more fluid and loping.

The door, nearly an arms-length thick is at your heads height by the time you get close so you dive underneath.

Clearing it you turn the dive into a flip slid along the dirt on your back, then you use the momentum to dig your heels in and stand.

Taking a few steps to get rid of the rest of the momentum you release the struggling Gyro.

Quick as a cybersnake she spins away and draws her gun out from under her poncho.

"You good?" You ask as the have obscuring your form parts and fades.

With a sigh she lowers her gun and looks around furtively.

"Yeah. The slag was that? The slag is that?" She points to the Transfomer under your arm.

Over the massive door of the garage a red light begins to spin. Only a few of the beings outside of it take notice and most don't seem to care.

>"We'll talk later, let's get moving."

Glaring around you don't see anyone coming to investigate the disturbance but decide to get moving. Never know who's watching.

"We'll talk later, let's get moving." You say.

Ignoring Gyros' following question you make way down the road and duck down through a side alley. The two of you weave along roads and side paths, hopefully confusing anyone keeping an eye on you.

While passing some booths you hear someone mention the word Cybertronian a few times and grimace.

Guess walking around with this transformer under your arm was drawing attention.

With a grunt you shift the poncho on your shoulder and lift one side over your head.

"Can you hear me?" You ask. All the bot does is groan.

With a bit of finagling you get the injured bot under the poncho and are now carrying them in your arms. You look a little weird but it doesn't matter.

"You and your habit of picking up strays." Gyro mutters.

"Figured you'd like a friend to play with."

She glares at you from between the folds of her turban.

"Where did you get him?"

"Squids had 'em working in the back, some kind of mind-control helmet was on him."

"Oh slag it." She sighs.

"Quiet the coincidence. Why were we even there?"

"In need high grade military hardware to fix the Aegis. Cogsworth said this place was good for it. But of COURSE! It's run by Quints."

You grunt.

She sighs. "We need to get off world now. I doubt they'll come after us with Cons in the city, but the slimeballs could have something to send after us."

Turning the corner the two of you come across the main road from before. You growl. Their is a group of Decepticons at the vehicle lot where those two had been causing trouble.

One is a purple Seeker, smaller than the ones you had seen before. She's busy chewing out the two thugs while another two, much bigger, Cons are now destroying the vehicles with large energy axes. A pair of disposable class, yellow/orange wasps a bit bigger than your head, fly around above them.

You see the lots' office building has its shutters down and a blast shield covers its door.

As usual the Kobolian are going about their business but everyone else is watching the Cons with weary eyes.

"I'm guessing the Cybertronian hardware is why the Decepticons are here. They want to know who's moving the stuff." Gyro muses.

You are only half listening though. Your optics are on the Skuxxoids from before, the pair are muttering quietly to themselves and reading their weapon while the owner of the stall they're at seems frantic.

What really has your attention though is the number of large energy signature coming from the direction of the Quintesson garage.

"Come on." You say to Gyro. The two of you rush across the road then start moving around shops, taking a long path around the lot.

"What's going on?" Gyro asks.

"We got incoming from the squids. I want the Cons between us and them." Gyro swears while you keep focusing on your sensors. There seems to be three of them, large energy signatures moving rapidly in an odd pattern. Seems they are following the main roads.

You edge around a shop as casually as possible until hear hear a gunshot.

Peeking around a corner gives you view of part of the lot. You see one of the axe wielding Cons kick a chunck of vehicle and send it skidding away before turning and moving out of view.

"-think their bigshots!"

"Get off o-"

You hear voices yelling over the sounds of commerce.

"Gyro, call for pickup."

She gives an affirmative then activates her comm.

"Alright, Jackpot will be here in a minute, tops."

Skuxxoids were tough, you had dealt with a few pirates from their species back in the day, but outnumberd as they are you can't say who you would favour in a fight.

One of the energy signatures seem to be getting closer, another you can no longer detect so it probably went in the wrong direction. Another moves to the side, passing along a road you can see from where you are. You watch but for some reason when it passes the crossroads you see nothing. You wonder if you are just to far away.

>Keep watching incase things get out of hand.
>Keep moving away from the squids.
>Hold position and stay hidden.
>You could probably draw the squids to the Cons if you expose yourself, give the bot to Gyro.

The one we can't see might be a cloaker, Best to make as big a mess as we can and then run away in the confusion.
>>

So if the one we couldn't see is actually invisible, then continuing to run or trying to stay hidden are both probably going to fail. Trying to stop a fight will just expose us and put us in three sets of crosshairs. That basically just leaves

You growl. There is the possibility of them being cloaked. Even with your sensors sataying away from them would be hard.

Your best bet is a distraction you decide.

"Hold this." You say and shove the injured bot into Gyros' arms, removing your poncho and wrapping them in it. "Wait for the ship to arrive then get goin, even if I'm not here."

"What are you going to do?" She groans.

"Just gonna be myself."

Moving around the shop as you unwing the ridiculus turban from your pronged helm you climb up the building. The shifts slightly under you weight but holds.

You hop to another building, taller than the first, and climb to the top.

Below you is a row of shops then the lot. The Skuxxoids are still yelling obsceneties at the Cons while the axe weilders flank around to one side. The Seeker looks bored and haughty, the two she had been giving a verbal lashing stand behind her trying to look tough.

The lots' owner has come out to stand in the doorway of his office, blood runs down his face and a heavy pistol in one hand.

The one energy signature that had been coming closer took a sharp turn at some point, but is now coming back around. The other one that is still in range meanders back in forth in a way that will come across you in Gyro shortly.

You need to get there attention, but how?

>You still have that metal backpack. Huck it at something volatile to get the the meandering ones' attention.
>Open fire in the direction the one getting close to the lot, that should draw the others there.
>Go get that fight started, it should draw their attention.

If those things are out to hunt for their master, surely they have a way to communicate with each other. Which means getting the attention of one of them will bring the others.

The holster in your hip pops open and you slowly draw your gun.

Lifting the weapon you stare down its length and tract the energy as best you can. It ziggzags, moving along one road then moving to another, backtracking and then advancing.

You wait for it to move on to a road heading towards the lot and open fire. The heavy shots of your pathfinder crack through the air and kick up massive amounts of dirt where they strike

>Energon Reserve-114175

The energy signature stops then surges towards you and the lot.

The sound of you opening fir seems to have trigger the fight below. The Skuxxoids have begun firing on the flanking Cons, their rifles spitting crystalline bullets at a rapid pace. The Cons have taken cover behind some scrap vehicles, though their shields are withering away under the Skuxxoids' onslaught. The wasps have flown around the other way and are shooting at the aliens but their mineral infused hide seem to strong for the little disposables to penetrate.

Meanwhile the lots' owner is firing from his door at the Seeker, who is holding one of the grunts up as a shield. His chest is ruptured and belching smoke. The other is hiding behind her and trying to shoot the Skuxxoid, doing a poor job.

You watch for a moment as the lot and surrounding area is peppered with stray shots then go back to tracking the squids' hunter.

Moving along the road it reaches the lot then slows down. Then, oddly, it seems to pass through a pile of scrap. It pauses at the pair of Skuxxoids, one now flailing as a disposable has latched onto his head and is ramming an energy spike into his face.

>(continued)
>>
>>36339503
Your frown turns to shock as the ground underneath the Skuxxoid rupture and a long, green insect bursts out. Massive mandibles grab the Skuxxois around the waist and it hoists him into the air, the beast propelled by hundreds of sharp metal legs. It flails about with him until the wasp-like Cybertronian on his face decided to flee.

The biomechanical beast tosses the alien, its head tracking the wasp as it returns to the other Cons.

Everyone in the lot turns their attention to the beast and open fire on it. The lone Skuxxoid standing next to it shouting curses.

You turn your head and detect the other one making a beeline for the lot, and off in the distance you detect the third coming within range once again.

You growl.

Scanning the sky you see plenty of ship, but you have no idea which one is coming for you.

A shot blasts the roof you're standing on.

Looking down you see the Seeker has abandoned the lot and is flying up, boosters on her feet flaring and her arm mounted rifle pointing at you.

"Hey!" You shout. "If you're looking for a fight you got squids flying right under your radar!" You point to the biomechanical centipede then to the distant garage as you say this.

She glances to the side and can probably guess where you are pointing considering the garage is the largest building in the area, not to mention the spinning red lights on top of it.

While she is distracted you jump back and land on the ground in a crouch.

"Having fun?" Gyro asks, the wriggling mass of the bot you rescued slung over her shoulder.

"Too many bugs at this party." You reply. "Whats the ETA on that ship?"

"Already here. Three streets over"

You nod then motion for her to take the lead.

The two of you run through the crowds filling the streets, now swarming to either get away from the fight or to check it out.

She leads you to an empty courtyard where a small, by your standards, ship is parked. Bright blue and blunt nosed, it looks like it seats four or five. The rear thrusters glow faintly as the ship idles.

Standing in the opened hatch on its side is the yellow and black Cybertonian you have seen hanging around Stiletto.

"Hey you kooks. What kinda nonsense have yo-" He is interrupted by Gyro shoving him back.

"No time Jackie get us out of here."

"Right."

You climb in behind her and take a seat on one of the benches lining the wall. The bundle of injured Cybertronian squirms on the bench across from you while Gyro moves to the cockpit to peer over Jackpots' shoulder.

The engines whine as the ship lifts off and you experience a brief, familiar increase in Gs.

You begin unwrapping the bot when Gyro ducks in.

"We have incoming."

"So go faster." You grumble.

"They're faster than we are. A single Cybertronian by the looks of it."

>>
>>36340545
>>36340549

Grumbling to yourself you rise from your seat.

"I'll go deal with this." You say to Gyro. Pulling the lever next to the hatch a loud whistling fill the shuttle as wind whips through.

Waiting for it to open you realize Gyro is asking you something but it's drowned by the noise. You just wave at her then leap out.

The air around you whips and whistles as you enter free fall, the shuttle rocketing away from you. The Decepticon also zooms by as you twist your chassis out of the way, your sensors just barely picking her up on time.

As you guessed it's the purple Seeker following you for some reason.

Once you are behind them you transform.

Your arms extend out to the side as your shoulder armour moves to your forearms and wraps around them. Your chestplate flips up then bends at the side and extends forward, becoming more pointed and conical than your aquatic form. Instead of completely retreating into your body, your head attaches itself to the back of your bestial chestplate, though your face is out of sight your pronged helm becomes the back of the alts head, the trident point extending further out behind it. A metal plate seems to extend out from... somewhere to fill the gap in your chest.

>(continued)
>>
>>36341541
Your legs twist so that your knees are facing outward, then they merge together. A pair of your tentacles extend back along them and flatten and expand in width more than their initial mass should allow, making you legs seem like a long tail. A fin-like ridge runs along the top of it.

Another pair of tentacle move around your abdomen and hang below you. They expand, stretch, and become more articulate.

They aren't the only things that grow. It feels like your entire body is expanding. The metal of your hull flying and stretching as somehow your inner working enlarge along with the rest of you. Having seen mass-shifting a few times before you know what's happening. That doesn't mean it feels less weird though.

Two more pairs of your tentacles whip out behind you and flatten as well. One side of each extending impossible to become wings like some featherless flying lizard. The first set are massive, with a span nearly as long as your body. The second is smaller but no less impressive. They begin to glow a bright blue green on their undersides and you feel them catch the air.

You're flying! You roar with delight as you dip slightly then hit the gas. Soaring through the air, you twist and whip your tail.

This is fun.

You shake your head as something catches your optics. Turning you see the thrusters of your shuttle and the Decepticon following it. You remember. Got to stop the bad guy.

With another primal roar you chase after them.

You see the Decepticon activate her turbo and pass the shuttle, then she swings around at you.

"By the pit your ugly." She hear her broadcast on her comm.

>"I'll show you ugly!" Bite her.

Hm, I had expected three sets of wings for this form. Not sure what our arms are doing in the current transformation. Thought they would get bigger and more armored, freeing up an extra set of tentacles for wings.

(the arms are still there and more heavily armourd. The legs form the tail with a pair of tentacles reinforcing it/making it longer. Wasn't sure about the last part and am willing to change it so your legs make up the tail and you have a third set of smaller wings if you guys want.)

-----------------------------------

"Pull over!" You bellows, both with your comm and your mouth.

"What? We're in the air stupid." She says then screams as you nearly collide with her. She barrel rolls around you, barely missing your wings, and it's here you discover just how much bigger you are. She must have been just barely shorter than you used to be, but now you dwarf her the way you dwarf Cogsworth in robotmode.

"Watch it you glitch!" She yells.

You turn and swoop back around to find the Con hovering in place.

"I said pull over!" You bellow again.

This time she drops as you pass.

"What's your malfunction?"

"You," You growl, "Stay away from our shuttle. We're leaving."

"Pfft fine, run. See how far you get when we start shooting everything out of the sky." She says and fires a pair of missiles at you.

As you dive the Con tilts her nose up at you and waits.

Once your close enough she hits her turbo, managing to avoid your snapping jaws. She doesn't dodge you tail though.

The blow knocks her spinning and her squeal can be heard across your comm.

The Con transforms and uses her foot thrusters to stabilize herself.

She proves to be an aerial combat fighter, forged and trained. Tracking your turning mass she places her shots along your nose, head and neck.

You bellow in agony this time. Parts of your helm melt away and the hot metal obscures one of your eyes while one of your trident prong gets blown clean off.

>HP- 79/100
>-10 Perception

You twist and turn, tumbling through the air before managing to right yourself.

>Repair Drones activated.

As you fall a pair of dark metal spheres pop out of an opening in your chestplate. They swirl away as you fly before zooming up to your head. Splitting down the middle, they begin bombarding your face with light blue rays. One focuses on your covered eye while the other mends the burning rent along your snout.

>HP- 84/100
>Per +5

Above you the Decepticon has already transformed and is jetting away as fast as her turbo will take her.

You snarl. The prey is escaping.

You shake your draconic head, the drones jinking side to side to maintain their proximity.

The prey is escaping but you have friends to protect.

You rise into the air as your wings stretch out and flap.

They prey is escaping but it has not learned fear.

A low rumble starts in your chest.

Another flap pushes you higher up.

If the prey is to learn its place it need to feel fear. The rumble turns into a dull whine as it climbs up into your throat.

Another flap raises you to her altitude.

The whine rises higher as red electricity dances from the back of your teeth to the front, meeting in a sparking arc.

Your wings fan out behind you as the whine reaches a crescendo. A crimson beam of light lances out from your mouth, piercing the sky.

>Roll 5 successes. Crit success!

You can protect your friends with power. Fear is a form of power.

The beam seems to pin the Con to the sky. It shears off one of her tail fins and splits her thruster open along the top. Then it keeps going.

Even as the purple jet falls the beam travels on and on. It nearly hits some alien freighter hanging just above the city.

The Con transforms before slamming into the side of a generator that protrudes from a cluster of buildings like an energon deposit. The machine sparks and a small explosion erupts from the top.

You roar in victory.

Its then you notice Gyros' voice over your comm.

"Chief! Chief come in!"

"What." You growl.

"About time you responded!" She yells. "Get back to the ship, we gotta move!"

You grumble low in your chest. Why go when there is more prey below? You think remembering the squids and other Cons.

When you don't respond she says, "Kracken, the Promise is picking up a warships scrambling in orbit. The Cons are coming."

our wingspan is wider and we're longer from nose to tail, but we're no where near as tall and a little less heavy. been trying to work out size categories for transformers but so far all I have are either bonus dice for being bigger our penalties for being smaller.

Possible but difficult. Altering a Cybertronians' programing was a relatively new field when the war broke out, and you can imagine how it was used then. Finding someone trained in it will be hard.

Part of the problem is that our dragon alt knocks us down to 24 INT, so no matter what our basic programing we're gonna be kinda dumb and instinctive.
>>
>>36345350
Hmm. Just having something to shake us from whatever has our focus would be valuable, so our friends can reign us in if need be. It would be like a buzzer for our mind. That's probably more reasonable to accomplish.
