I got them. Thank you, though.

I am going to take >A stand of cypress trees

>>36317193

As you stand there, peering from the edge of the woods, reeds and trees hiding you, you whisper quietly. “Dani.”

“Mm?”

“I was thinking of going towards the stand of cypress trees – those ones, there. You see’em?” She gives a nod in the affirmative. “I’m sure that a bunch of ‘mons will be hiding in there. Do you want to go for the same spot, or try for something different?”

“Well… if I try for something else you’re probably going to spook them anyways. I say we both go in and catch what we can with the netballs.”

“Sounds good.”

>83 + 5

You and Dani creep along the edge of the spring, staying as far away from the water’s edge as you can. Mittens is with you, and Vlad is perched on Dani's shoulder.

You make your way slowly, quietly. Dani follows your lead. No need to spook them early. If you catch them by surprise you'll have the best chance of catching one easily.

You stop moving parallel to the shore, and instead you now slowly make your way towards the water. There- you can make out… a few different forms. One looks to be a lotad. Another is nestled near the shore, along the springbottom. Seems to be slowly moving along in the dirt. A third is free-swimming and is swimming with slow kicks of its legs.

Swimmer might be a buizel?
I'm not sure, lotad's aren't really my thing once they hit ludicolo (though lombre is pretty rad)
Not sure what the bottom-feeder is

Three targets, three different levels of the ecosystem. One is slow, one is fast, and one… is a Lotad.

You talk it over with Dani. She actually wouldn’t mind getting the lotad, as she particularly likes Ludicolos. You personally think it’s because they both have the same laugh, but whatever. You offer that you’re pretty sure that you can snag both of the Pokémon deeper in the water and spooking the Lotad shouldn’t be much of an issue. They’re not the fastest swimmers, and they are relatively large targets when on the surface of the water. If you can go ahead and catch the mystery Pokémon first, Dani has free reign to catch the Lotad afterwards. She agrees to this. She’s never used a netball before, so she’d prefer going after the easier target.

Now? You get to work.

“Mittens, I want you to wait over there.” You point upstream. “They might try to swim that way. If so, I’m gonna need your help in keeping them busy so they can’t escape. Okay?” Mittens nods and then scampers away. Dani positions herself downstream, waiting in the brush.

You go in for the kill.

>95 + 5 = 100 SUPERRRRR COMBOOOOO

You spin the first netball in your right hand, the second cradled in your left. You breathe. Out and in. Out. In.

The swimmer comes up for air. Perfect.

You dash out, the netball leaving your hand and whistling through the air towards the target – as it leaves the murkier waters, stained brown by the leaves and trees, you can see that it’s orange, with a bulbous protrusion on its back and a long tail. The netball hits the water above it, causing the Pokémon to try and scramble away in confusion. Fortunately, the internal net mechanism has already activated, and a net surges through the water and surrounds the Pokémon.

You’re too busy to pay attention to that – you take the second ball and pitch it into the water’s surface near the shore, where the bottom-dweller awaits. Another net is released, surrounding this Pokémon as well.

The swimmer, more active than the bottom-dweller, struggles against the net as it reels inwards and drags the writhing form towards the ball which then opens and absorbs it in a flash of light. It clicks. Silent and serene, it bobs slowly the surface of the water, a surreal contrast to the violent fight of net against Pokémon a moment before.

There is another flash of light – this one muted by the water itself – and then a second ball joins the first. You wade into the water, collecting your spoils.

You then turn as you hear a victorious shout behind you – seems Dani caught that Lotad, too!

You call Mittens back, who waddles up to you. Wading back to the shore, you get onto dry land and shake your pants off before release your two new Pokémon. “Mittens, meet our new team members…!”

>Buizel caught! Congratulations!
>Lotad caught! Congratulations! Nah, I’m just kidding. It’s a squirtle!

Were you expecting us to catch both of them? Also do we have autoteleport function when we hit over 6? How is Erica's catching going? Will we get a skill boost for the insane catches we're doing?

Dang I fell asleep and missed the last parts...
>>36318272

But it looks like we can catch more than enough pokemon in our sleep so...
as for name suggestions Buizel: Skipper, Bobby (or Bobburt, not sure if one or two bs in honor of our QM), Jet
Squirtle: >>36318443
these seem good...maybe also Sinker or Sandy...
Also should we maybe give one of them to Erica...
