Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

But damn, its full

You are Zachary Zelnacki, newly formed Epic. Two months ago, super-powered people rose from the wea-I mean normal. Yeah, normal. You have the ability to control vectors, allowing you to change the speed and direction of any solid object within 15 yards(13 meters). You are also inhumanly tough, able to shrug off small caliber weapons. Finally, and perhaps most important, you are able to absorb powers from dead Epics, if you touch them within ten minutes of death.

You witnessed an Epic fight in the local Middle school, and absorbed the power of steel manipulation and regeneration. You then uploaded the video of the battle and bought a Glock. Finally, you check around town for anything of interest. You see a poster about an Epic in Sacramento, read about a trio of Epics that took over New York City, and learned about LA. Now, what to do...

>Go to Sacramento
>Road trip to NYC
>LA baby!

Better fight to watch and learn there, plus you can make more videos to get more followers. The wea- normal people may be insignificant to Epic , but the can be damn helpful if you can play them right.

Okay, since last thread, I've decided to give XP. Each time you do something big(fight, steal a power, subjugate a town) you get XP. You can spend XP on temporary power ups, level up powers, or burn it for extra rolls if you want it.

FIGHT FROSTY
FIND EPIC'S WEAKNESS(filming him)
STEAL POWER
----------------------------------------------------------
Total XP: 200

Also, writing. Timeskip or a few episodes of wacky hijinks on the way there?
>>
>>36229264
>>Go to Sacramento
If we don't like it, we can bail and head on down to Sacramento.
>>
>>36229578
>wacky hijinks
Sure, sounds fun
>>
>>36229578
Hijinks on the way there I guess, Keep filming fights, the knowledge alone makes it worthwhile and you can either sell it for money or use it to pinpoint someone's abilities. Also how much exp to level our power stealing, invulnerability or regen?
>>
>>36229578
>wacky hijinks
Cos why not
>>
>>36229578
Let's have a hijink on the way. Also, dump into invuln and Vector. Regen we can lose, so let's not invest in it.
>>
>>36229662
>Regen we can lose
Are you retarded? Regen is one of the strongest possible powers. Especially when combine with others.
>>
>>36229682
>Reality warping
>Time Control
>Teleportation

I'd drop regen for this trio.
>>
>>36229662
Unless power stealing upgrade can let us pick and choose what we can and can't lose. We need to see costs before we can decide though. Also with Regen and invulnerably plus vectors we can take a shit ton of punishment shrug it off and keep coming.
>>
>>36229578
How much does it cost for temporary power ups, level up powers and burn it for extra rolls?
>>
>>36229707
We'd have to kill someone with those powers first and make sure that was the last they used....... no easy task.
>>
>>36229707
>Reality warping, time control, teleportation, vector Manip, and invulnerability.

Can I get an 'Aww, you mad?' attached to this pic?

>>
>>36229644
Power stealing: 800. Lets you copy four powers at once at 60% power(you have regen&steel at 50% power)
Invulnerablity: 500. Makes rifle shots(.223, .30, 5.56) along with buckshot near useless against you. Bruises, but most won't enter the body. Pistols might as well be a guy throwing pebbles at you. Watch out of heavier rounds, though.
Regen: 400 or absorb another regen power. Makes wounds scab over in a minute and deeper wounds take a few hours to be almost healed. Don't tear your stitches, though, in a day you are fine. Must keep brain intact

>>36229724
Burns go at 100 points a dice. Temporary power ups vary, depending on the amount you use, the stronger the power up
>>
>>36229806
Can't upgrade steel manipulation?
>>
>>36229806
How about Vectors?
>>
>>36229806
So we can upgrade a power by eating it's copy? Awesome. I'd say save up to boost one of our core powers before we try upgrading one we might lose. We'll be game breakers if we ever max out stealing.
>>
>>36229858
you didn't ask.

steel manipulation: 400 or absorb another regen power. Lets you control more steel from a farther range. Allows for high limited iron manipulation, but iron control is much weaker.
>>
>>36229858
I wonder why we bought a gun when we have steel and vectors. Can't we just summon metal to ourselves and then use vector to fire it faster than any bullet?
>>
>>36229926
Bullet bending, turn it from harmless to deadly midflight or adjust trajectory. Plus we can use it to bluff people. We're trying to stay low profile atm, power stealers are probably on every other epic's shitlsit.
>>
>>36229871
600. Upgrades max speed(50mph-60mph). Heavier things and items lightly rooted in the ground can be manipulated. WIth lots of practice, can allow limited flight/double jump
>>
>>36229960
Does the 200 include what we took from that red-suited pleb?

You decide to blow this small town. Whatever John Melloncamp says, it isn't great. You take one more shower at your shitty apartment, cramped more than usual. Being an Epic can be great, but nothing is made for a six foot four adonis. Doorways too low, clothes get wider the higher in size they get instead of longer, and shower heads are at eye level. Tailors for Epics must make a fortune.

You throw on a pair of comfortable pants and a XXL T-shirt, then start packing. First all of your clothing that fits, a small pile that fits into a backpack. Then your laptop and it's charger, non-perishable food, PS4, a bag with your MMA gear, toiletries, a sleeping bag and pillow, that mace you bought at a renaissance fairand a few other necessities. All of your belongings fit in the trunk of your car, a (insert car make and model). You leave the door to the apartment open, unlocked. Let the raccoons piss on your bed and claw up the curtains, not your problem.

You shift the car into drive, backing it out of the spot that has been it's home for the last year. Plugging your iPhone into the central consul, you get a map to NYC, passing through as little cities as possible. You turn on Pandora, put on some road trip music, and start driving.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbNlMtqrYS0
And driving...

And driving...

And driving...

You stop in a few small towns, most harboring scared people armed to the teeth.

Now, in the largest town you've passed through, is a line of men armed with high caliber rifles. One is even in a mech suit. Those are expensive, this one easily over $100,000 judging from the exterior. One laser cannon is mounted on the wrist, a heavy steel claw at the end of the other arm. Two jets on the back are barely visible, evidence of the jump jet package. They are waving at you, one holding a sign that says "Pull over for Inspection"
>What do?
>>
>>36230502
I guess we pull over. Can't outrun lasers.
>>
>>36230502
Pull over. Be ready to vector or metal manipulate their shit but don't display active powers. If they give you shit explain you're heading to the NY to record Epics fight, their money in it.
>>
>>36230502
>(insert car make and model)
>>
>>36230502
Speed away on our car boosted with vectors
>>
>>36230721
Not strong enough for that plus they have a laser. We can't block or tank a laser yet.
>>
You slow the car, letting it roll to a stop at the side of the road. A dense wood of redwoods, oaks, and scrub sits on your right, about ten steps away from the passenger side of the car. Up ahead, a few feet from the mech(Hammerfall tm), is a sign that says "Welcome to Ridgewood" below the professional sign is a large piece of plywood painted black with white letters. "EPICS SHOT ON SIGHT". Thats nice, what a welcoming town.

One of the men detaches from the line and walks over to your car. Dressed in a brown cowboy hat and camouflage clothes, the man has a burnished steel star on his shirt. Looks like the sheriff is here.

"Good evening sir. Just a routine inspection. If you'll just stick your arm through the window, we'll get you back on your way." The man smiles, a thick brown mustache covering much of his mouth. He shouts back to the line, "Get the dowser!" then turns back to you.

"Standard procedure. What is your purpose in our fair town, do you have any concealed weapons on you, and would you like some lemonade and cookies?" That last question throws you off for a second, before you respond.

"Heading to New York for work, I have a Glock 19 in my glovebox, and if you have extra, I would like some. What is the dowser, if I can ask?"

"Just a machine for sensing Epics. We had a bad experience last month, and started beefing up security. Now, stick your hand through the cuff and squeeze your hand till I say stop." The man now has a small machine, that looks like a combination blood cuff and iPhone. A ring of short needles are inside the cuff, likely to test the blood of the user.
>What do?
>>
>>36230960
"I'll save you the trouble then. I'm an Epic, and I'm just trying to get to New York. Do you know any backroads I can take, if I can't go through?"
>>
>>36230960
*sigh* I'm an Epic and I don't want any trouble just let me pass through alright? Honestly i'm kind of shitty at this since it started like 2 days ago. Figured I could go to new York film the others beating the snot out of each other and make some money selling the footage. Sides ever heard of an epic driving a P.o.s. like this?
>>
>>36230960
Implode the mech with our steel powers and then fire out pieces of it at all the other pea-humans around.

Continue driving.
>>
>>36230960
Grab the man chuck him at the other one. Vector run to the mech where we rip it to shit with metal power
>>
>>36231092
>>36231040
Laser would one shot us. and our vector isn't much against armor yet. The metal isn't iron enough for us to bend.
>>
>>36231165
You need to aim and we are pretty fast. Also lasers would be piss easy to bend if we set the vectors up before it firing
>>
>>36231192
We aren't accelerator we can't bend then yet, sides bet the mech is out of range.
>>
>>36231165
>>36231092

Try to beg our way through first, we aren't That guy yet. They start shit then we end them.

>>
>>36231375
He doesn't. He obeys the laws and tries to talk/lawyer his way out of trouble first.

When shit hits the fan, though, he is quite thorough.
>>
>>36231375
Not when you don't need to, if anything do it behind the scenes. They come after us we destroy everything and leave maybe one survivor to explain why we did what we did, sans arms and legs.
>>
>>36231409
Nah, just sans legs. How will he live long enough to tell anyone if he can't move.
>>
>>36231403
My bad i thought you meant the alignment
>>
>>36231445
Lawful evil follows the law, ie no killing the innocent. They attack us unwarranted we have free reign in self defense. We're just VERY proactive and Thorough. Better for us if people realize we aren't going to murder them for being civil to us. That way we can get a following and power base more easily. That being said they even think of shooting us we kill them all, except the one warning to the other guys.
>>
>>36231518
Except that's horseshit. Lawful evil follows its own set of laws rigidly, but couldn't give two fucks about society.

Regardless, you're just asking to die so lets go ahead and finish this quest up.
>>
>>36231518
I disagree but I've been working all day so im not going bother arguing with you. Also alignments are pants on head retarded
>>

>>36231557

>>
>>36231596
>deal with it
lol no.

I'll just continue to call you a retarded fuck.
>>
>>36231557
That's Lawful Neutral. Lawful Evil takes the established laws and twists them. Lawyering and backstabbing and even breaking the law when he's certain he can get away with it.
>>
>>36231618
Ok sure whatever anon.

>>36231631
So like exterminating a town after someone fires one shot at us?
>>
>>36231655
If it benefits us, certainly.

But if there's no clear benefit, we won't go out of our way to do it.
>>
>>36231655
Pretty much yes
>>
>>36231678
Sounds about right. Just making sure I had a solid grasp on mindset, been a while since I played an evil char.
>>
You sigh, then say, "I'm an Epic and I don't want any trouble just let me pass through alright? Honestly i'm kind of shitty at this since it started like 2 days ago. Figured I could go to new York film the others beating the snot out of each other and make some money selling the footage. Sides ever heard of an epic driving a P.o.s. like this?"

The man's eyes widen and bug out of his head, looking like a cartoon character that saw a pie on a windowsill. He stumbles back, fumbling at his side arm. He starts to pull it from the leather holster, screaming "EPIC!" to his men. The mech's laser arm slowly starts spinning, a small segment at a time. A blue light seeps into the air around it, along with a high pitched whine.

You quickly take off your seatbelt, and dive away from the car through the open window. Shit it be, but it's YOUR shit. You roll, passing the sheriff. He spins, gun pointed at your torso. He smiles slightly, then pulls the trigger.

The revolver's hammer falls in slow motion, followed by a flash of white and an ear-splitting explosion. At least the laser's whine is gone. Or your hearing is. Either way, a powerful ringing is surging through your head.

Ha! He missed! Wait. Why is he running away? Oh, there it is. The bullet is laying on the ground, pushed into a mushroom cap. A slight sting is is annoying you, and a small raised welt is on your arm. Looks like a mosquito bite.

You raise, taking in all your surroundings. You can feel the grid of steel beneath your feet, extending on in a straight line. The men are armed with steel, the main control housing for the mech's laser made up of high carbon steel. Your car could also be used, but that would likely destroy it.

The men are in a ragged line, beach chairs knocked over when they stood. The mech is off to one side, two men from the middle of the line. They all have various rifles pointed at you, including the blue laser cannon of the mech. A small AA gun is set up on it's shoulder, a camera focusing in on you. All these barrels, staring you down, and here you have only two hands. Now you know how a chick at a gangbang feels.

You shoot forward, moving at an easy forty miles per hour. You close on one of the men, then jump into the air.

Your momentum drives your foot forward, straight into the man's sternum. You can feel something beneath your foot crack, then cave inwards. You follow the dropping man, landing atop his broken body. Hunched over him, you can feel a series of shots hit your back. Only one really hurts, at the small of your back. The rest only sting a bit, like a hard slap to the back.

You stand, shaking the foot imbedded in the man's ribcage. It comes off, with a sick sucking sound. Thats another pair of shoes ruined by blood. You look down, seeing a red dot moving up and down on your chest. Following the light back to it's origin, you look down the twin barrels of an AA gun.

You reach out, hand closing into a fist. One of the barrels close into its self, bents in the shape of your fingers. Then it opens fire. The left barrel bursts, spraying into a daisy shape. The other barrel still works, however.

Bullets slam into you, punches straight to the gut. You fly backward, bleeding from the bullet wounds. You fly to the side, vectoring into the grass on the side of the road. You pull up a few pieces of rock, each about the size of gumballs.

The mech is turning to you, laser arm coming round to bear. The rest of the militia has taken up positions at the mech's side and sheltering behind it's armored legs

You vector upwards, flying fifty feet up. You turn the power off, arching over the street. You fall slowly, boosting along with vectors. The camera tries to track you, but is partially obscured by the destroyed barrel. It fires a stream of bullets, a belt of large bullets being fed into the barrels.

One clips you as you fall, but you remain undamaged for the most part. You land on the back of the mech, grabbing hold of a ridge in it's armor. You start pulling on it's steel, ripping bolts, nuts and liquid metal that was once components in the mech.

The metal forms into a long, drawn out spike, pointed at the cockpit of the mech. You solidify the spear, then drive it forward. It stabs through the cockpit's seal, drawing out a groan from inside. You retract the blade, pulling out a bloodstained slab of steel. Cutting through the lock, you fling open the cockpit. You pull the man's body, using it as a shield to stop the bullets of the militia.

You slip into the mech, taking a look over the controls. Two joysticks with two pedals on the floor, a button on the right joystick likely controls the laser, with a sliding lever next to the left joystick. No idea what that does.

You sit in the cushioned seat, feet against the pedals. You press a small button, and a curved screen lights up. Three men are facing your mech, armed with ARX-160s. You press the joystick, feeling the arm shift. Then a terrible noise, of grinding gears, echos through the suit.

The suit slowly tips over, falling to the street. Your camera blinks out, leaving you in darkness.

The hatch opens, and two pairs of hands grab onto you. Despite your strength, they are able to drag to out. The men drag you to the road, other men pointing gun barrels at your head. You feel a pair of handcuffs lock on your arms, then two more pairs. Two more pairs are put on your legs, then two more pairs lock the chains of the handcuffs into a extremely binding net of metal.

Four hands drag you to a waiting van, then throw you into the back. A bag is thrown over your head, and the engine starts up. You feel it start to pull out onto the road, heading in the direction of the town.

This is not good.
>What Do?

>>36233439
Try to talk your way out of it. That's worked so well.
>>
>>36233439
Ping out for metal see if you can get a rough layout of van and where the guns are. Slowly deform the handcuffs so the lock is broken then break their guns after you're free. After that wreck them.

You send out a thought, looking for steel. You detect a small amount in the van, including the bars on the van's side that you are locked to. However, the handcuffs themselves are titanium. Damn aluminum frame cars, they'll be the death of you. Still, the engine block is mainly steel. Perhaps you could mess that up?

You try to change the engine block's shape, warping the metal. Without sight and no way to move, its quite a bit harder. Finally, after five minutes of trying, you feel it shift. This is followed by terrible grinding sound, then the engine stops.

Without the engine, you can hear a dull murmur, like distant waves crashing on a rocky shore. A crowd?

The doors fling open, followed in by a pair of men. Damn it, no metal at all. Looks like they learned from your attack. They grab you by the shirt and handcuffs, dragging you along the ground. Yeah, there is defiantly a crowd. you can hear snatches of conversation, none of them very reassuring. Least so, is a mother's answer to her young sounding son.

"He's a bad man. He's the one that killed Daddy"
The boy's response is perhaps the worst thing possible
"Is the sheriff gonna blast him like Eric?
That is very reassuring.

You are half carried half dragged up a short flight of steps, knocking against the wood. The hood is ripped off your head, the bright light hurting after so long in darkness. After your eyes adjust, you can make out your surroundings. What looks like a town square is packed to bursting with people. You are on a wooden platform, reminiscent of a gallows. Most gallows, however, don't have a large thing made of metal that looks like a larger version of a laser cannon. On the plus side. a few of your bullet wounds have scabbed over.

The man from the road, the sheriff, walks calmly up the stairs. He stands in front of a microphone, badge...steel badge shining in the floodlights.

"This man is one of the despicable Epics that destroyed our fair town. I shall now read a list of his crimes. Aggravated assault. Vehicular homicide. Grand theft mecha. The use of Epic powers within city limits. Destruction of private property. The killing of two of our guards men, Alfred Scott and Gregory Eisenburg. We, the people of Ridgewood, find this man guilty of the listed crimes. He is to be exacuted today, at 9:38,eastern standard time." The man turns to you, "Any last words from the prisoner?

Explain how you freely offered the information of how you were an Epic. You picked up on the cues that that this town had suffered against irresponsible, power-mad Epics and so offered the information that you were one of them freely. You could have been any other sort of Epic that their bullets would have cut down in seconds. Knowing this and the fear Epics engendered in communities, you still told them. And they still responded with fear and threats on your life. You were forced to protect yourself. Now, unless they want to see what an Epic can really do with its back against the wall. They might be inclined to let you be on your way.

"I said I was an Epic by my own will. I saw your warnings to Epics, and still I told the truth. I was forced to defend myself when your so-called guardsmen attacked me. WHO ELECTED YOU JUDGE, JURY AND EXECUTIONER? NOW, unless you wish to see how strong Epics are when angered, leave me be." You ping the crowd, searching for metal. The road is a solid grid, like you expected. Various guns and knives are scattered in your range, all good, manipulable steel.

The crowd is silent, then starts chanting.
"FRY!"
"FRY!"
"FRY!"
"FRY!"
"FRY!"

"Fine" You say, then blast the two men dragging you with enough force to shoot them twenty feet into the air. They fly into the crowd, which pulls back at the display of power. Puny weaklings, the lot of them. You draw the steel from the sheriff's badge, cutting through his body to stab into the laser. You rip the rebar out of the street, each piece forming into a razor sharp blade. The grid slices up, into the crowd. All of the people within your range fall, soaking the square with red blood.

The ones in the back open fire, blasting holes into your clothes. Those were fucking expensive! You jerk your chin, the razor-sharp badge cutting through your bonds. You wave your freed hand through the air, forcing the bullets back. Shooters and bystanders fall to the lead, struck down by their friends and family. You walk slowly forward, a shield of force repelling the bullets. You lift the rest of the steel from beneath the ground, a steel shell forming around you.
>>
Rebar shifts and melts, forming plates and spines. Your fist armor first, two inch spikes jutting from the knuckles. The metal creeps up your limbs, mirror-like surface reflecting the horror stricken faces. Your torso encases in metal, spikes and waving tentacles lining the back. Your face disappears beneath the steel, fingers of liquid metal climbing up your visage. You armor your head in steel, sharp bull horns growing from your head. All that remains of your face are your eyes, staring out from the polished horror.

"I AM THE INEVITABLE! ALL SHALL BOW BEFORE ME!"

You launch bladed tentacles at the crowd, cutting down the men that would dare to attack an Epic. All cower, pitiful attempts to escape your justice. You stab up at them, leaving the pierced bodies to hang as a testament to your power. You walk down the street, ending any that cross your rampage. You leave the town, steel pikes impaling hanging bodies, blood flowing like rain, power surging through you.

Get better players.
>>
>>36235869
Once we have our powers a bit longer we (pc) ought to be able to know what we can and can't do. Also give small exp(like 5) for training our powers. Also learn to ignore the trolls and autists like >>36235892. They want the quest to crash and burn because their assholes.
>>
>>36235869
So QM, if we had stuck with trying to talk down the checkpoint guards would leaving without a fight have been possible?

Laying out if negotiation actually works or not will cut off a lot of fights in the future.

Oh retard anon, I can count on you deliver. Keep up making those excellent plans!
>>
>>36235953
I don't see why their hemorrhoids would make them dislike the quest
>>
>>36235973
Depends on the situation. This was a planned fight(at least the border fight, improved the last part), but most of the time it is up to the players to make good arguments and decide if its smart to fight
>>
>>36235995
Because they didn't get their way and have the pc be their ideal of perfection their going to troll and drive away players. if any of them get particularly butthurt over it they'll try to get the pc killed or try to get you or the players banned etc. etc. etc. It's how they get their kicks because they are too pathetic to contribute.

>>36236090
Fair enough, pretty sure Zach is going to go full murderhobo now though.
>>
>>36236151
Wow, your newfag is showing, retard anon.
>>
>>36236151
It was mainly the use of his powers and fear. Use the powers to defend yourself, and you get angry. You use the powers to attack anyone that might pose a danger to you. Using the powers make you want to fight more, see more as dangers. Its a cruel cycle, mainly for non-Epics.

You can still be good, for an Epic. Just need to stay in check. Your reputation might help, however.
>>
>>36236173
Huehuehuehuehue. Whatever autist, feeders like you (among other things) kill quests. You take your sperg and hate and self loathing out on others from the safety of your basement because your too scared pathetic and lazy to do anything remotely constructive.
