(I've never done one of these before, so bare with me.)
The tide has come in and out for centuries and your species has been quietly content to sit on the beaches and the shores: star gazing, living off of the land as food was plentiful, life was simple, work short, and temperatures mild. This however has begun to change as a song echoes out into the hearts and minds of your species calling out for change; causing your people to grow restless, passionate, and spirited.

The sage of your small primitive Tribe addresses the family: "A new Hymn has breathed change and uncertainty into the world and if we are to survive we must build, adapt, grow, and become a strong people. The Stars, the Waves, the Sun, and the Moon all speak to me, but, I ask you my family; Which voice speaks the truest?"

+Religion and Philosophy will be the first choice you make; it will change over time, but generally speaking it will shape and define the "Initial" attitude and mindset of your people. This is just the first step of many+

>Sun Worship; The Great Burning Eye that yearns
"What is the sun, but a great single eye of fire that rules the sky and provides? Surely this world was made for us to rule; the Cyclops" +Aggressive+

>Moon Worship; The Great Pale Eye that weeps
"What is the moon, but a great single eye that watches over us and illuminates the night sky? Surely this world was made to be observed and studied- to enlighten it's secrets it owes to us the Cyclops." +Defensive+

>Star Worship; The Great Many Eyes that form the sky
"What are the Stars, but a great many single eyes constantly watching, blinking, and making up the night sky? Surely this world is made up of an innumerable souls, and we must act with wisdom and discretion as they watch us." +"Middle ground"+

+Current Stats+
>Population: 13 +Bottle-neck Suffering+
>Culture and Art: Primitive, your people wear grass or long leaved skirts, occasionally adorning themselves with pieces or coral or shells that they wear in their dirty, sun-baked, braided locks. Most of your people simply go naked.
>The People: Your people are currently "neutral", they live for the moment, they eat when they are hungry, they love when they are lonely, and they fight when they are angry. Ethnicity wise your people come in a variety of light to milk chocolate brown tanned freckled skin tones with white to milky yellow hair that is often braided or kept short and messy.
>Technology: Nothing beyond sharpened sticks, pieces of jagged flint, rocks and fire. Your people currently live in caves or they sleep upon piles of elevated grass and palm leave beds.
>Magic: 1 MAGIC USER. +The Elements and the Spirits speak to some of you, most of you in your dreams. They sing a song that is comforting and constant, but only 1 "Sage" is inspired and wise enough to listen.
>Food: Minimum. Your people subsist off of Foraging, Fishing, and Hunting.

Your Tribe currently dwells on a small volcanic Island that you share with a number of migratory sea-faring birds, seals, and a few other terrestrial animals including Elephants. The island is surrounded by a Reef that is abundant in seafood and your people can see very distantly at least one island off in the horizon on a clear day.

>"Above Average"

Your People forage and gather for food like they always have done, but this time they are particularly successful in gathering up a larger portion than usual: Many nuts, fruits, and shellfish are found and gathered for your Tribe to cook, consume, and increase moral.

>explore nearby areas
>Rolled 16
>"Above Average"

A small portion of the tribe goes off to explore while the others continue to forage for food. With no real goal beyond the ones they give themselves they explore unfamiliar areas: They walk through an opening in the jungle that feeds into a grassy field at the foot of the volcanic mountain with it's black stones, they find a small herd of elephants roaming about and feeding upon fruiting palm trees, but they do not find anything particularly out of the ordinary.

>develop more advanced weaponry using flint and sticks
>Rolled 27

The seals are small, though they are heavier and far denser then they look, but your people are large and persistent and through numerous biting, wiggling, and grabbing of the slippery seals your people are able to capture a dozen or so baby seals- they are so small.

The pen building as well goes perfectly: An enclosed circle of large stones is laid out just in front of the "village" where the beach and surf meets to keep the baby seals temporarily enclosed for the moment.

>Advanced Weaponry + Seal products

The Cyclopes not indisposed by the seal happenings continue to tamper and fool around with your stone and wooden tools, although nothing amazing happens.. you are able to produce sharpened and more advanced forms of flints. Your are capable of cutting the thick, fatty, smooth leathery hides of the seals.

You Butcher a handful of Adult seals: collecting their meat, hides, and fats.

You now have access to BUTCHERING . Butchering is a tech that allows you to process animals for resources.

Sorry for asking but:

What counts as an idea and what counts as an action?
>>
>>36186171
>What counts as an idea and what counts as an action?

An Action is something you do, an idea is basically research.
Actions are literal commands, ideas are a mix between asking about ideas or research topics or asking objective commands that might lead to new ideas.

Actions can lead to or benefit discovering new ideas.
New Ideas though gain access to efficiency of actions and more actions.

Your people take note of their surroundings, the trees, the foliage, the nuts, the fruit, and everything that is green and grows from the ground before coming back to the village and reporting their findings through word of mouth.

Your Island contains:

>Produce discovered: Bananas, Sweet Potatoes, Bread Fruit, Edible Ferns, Cashews, Mangoes.
>Raw Resources discovered: "Mature Tropical Trees". Your island possess numerous fully grown trees that are at least a few decades or at times a century old. They are large, strong, firm, and if cut would produce ample and useful lumber.

Your people however have nothing to cut down these Tree- the smaller ones though can be simple strong armed and pushed down much like how Elephants are observed doing, but you have no real way of processing them. The juvenile palms however are soft and can be stripped apart for fibers.. but who knows?

The Caves you call home are long dead Volcanic channels that have formed natural caves in the sides of hills gently ending near the beach. They provide shelter from the elements, are dry, cool in the middays and warm in the evenings and upon further inspection go much deeper than original known, but eventually end in small channels too narrow naught for a crab to crawl through.

Your Caves currently can house all 13 members of your tribe, but your Eldest members judge it could hold at least twice as many members. A portion of your Tribe doesn't even sleep in your Cave every night- in good weather preferring to sleep outside in elevated grass and palm leaf nests.

>what is our current abode situation?

Your Caves are lined with dried grass, plant fibers, and palm leaves, to provide soft bedding and comfortable seating- The Caves also house fire pits of stone which are used to cook with. All waste is simply thrown outside or into the ocean and the entrance to your cave is lined with discarded Seashells and fish bones.

Since (I think) the spirits of the Burning Eye and Great Many Eyes communicate through dreams, maybe we could have the one sage we have draw pictographs of what he dreams about in the sand.

It won't be very permanent, but we could just cordon off the area.

From this, we may be able to gain a simple written language, especially when we figure out pigments and start drawing like crazy on the cave walls.

But for right now, the sage should just record his dreams and try to mediate on the meaning of them. Sound good?

>Fishing Development.
>Religious and Magical Development.

With the success and leisure brought about by so many abundant and new sources of food your people are truly allowed the breathing room to develop and innovate on new and revolutionary ideas:

Interesting and innovating Stone tools are developed: A jagged Flint stone is chipped and crafted before fastening to a firm piece of wood using plant fibers and the Stone Axe is invented. This new tool allows you to collect and further process Wood resources.

Further more a whole host of new and exciting Stone tools are invented in close proximity: A FIRM and HARD flattened Hammerstone is similarly fastened to a wooden handle and the Hammer is invented- allowing for further precision in tool crafting. Almost by accident, through pounding of Rocks and fibers new powders are discovered.

Fishing becomes a simple matter as well. Nets are braided from dried plant fibers and used to catch an abundance of Fish, these nets are then further upgraded by braiding stone weights into their corners.

STONE(Hammer, Axe), FISHING NETS, DRY PAINT(Mineral dyes) HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED.

Or perhaps the moon is responsible for its children the stars and sun.
>>
>>36188769
>The sun and moon are the same entity, just in different states.

That's impossible, because the moon can appear during the day (especially evident during eclipses).

My theory is that the Sun and the Stars are really the same kind of god (like a "Vanir" or a "Aesir" would be kinds of gods to the Norse), but the Sun is extremely protective of the world and more than a bit of an arrogant warmonger.

The Many Eyes all have individual personalities and relationships that can be discovered and known.

But the point is that the Sun is really just a Star that's close to the world. Not a difficult concept to grasp.

The two sages of our Tribe pontificate to great extent about the cosmos and the world: they spend many days out on the forest openings at the foot of the volcano star gazing and contemplating the mysteries of the universe, the relationship between the stars, the moon, and the sun, while recording their findings and theories upon the blackened volcanic rock. They develop numerous hypothesis: could the sun and the moon be the same eye? No, the moon appears during the day.. The Sun share similarities between the stars- bliding twinkling vision and light.. perhaps representing identity? The moon though is so distinct it's "pupil" can be seen... but they both hang in the sky? In that great black and blue void? What of the darkness-

The Ocean. The Ocean. Your Sages have had a breakthrough: PRIMITIVE HYDROMANCY. Very limited control over water may now be commanded using Water. Further development is needed to expand.

>"Above Average Event"

The waves bring many things with them: gifts, dangers, but they always bring change and today is no exception to this rule.

Today something peculiar has occurred and no one knows what to make of it. A small family of Seven Cyclops have come upon our shores on a primitive raft with supplies, tools, and some provisions before they were noticed by the tribe.

They do not appear hostile, they have a few children as well as Men and Women capable of work. They seem to worship the sun as evident by the Dried, powder dyed upon their faces in the shape of the suns raise... What should we do?

If we were to take them in our Genetic diversity would increase as well as our population (currently 17).

They are however no guarantees they will "fit in".
Until today you were not entirely sure who else lived in the world.
>>
>>36189653

Also, meet with them at dawn and try to convince them to join you on a fishing expedition. Bring nets, not spears. We don't accept them yet, but we can at least try to interact with them in a mutually beneficial way.
>>
>>36189653
We have no idea if they are exiles or colonists.

And since they bare the mark of the sun, it could imply some level of aggressiveness in them.

We're sun too but we respect the idea of union as portrayed by the stars.
>>
>>36189874
Shit, you're right.

But still, showing hostility is not the answer. We don't know where they've come from or what the outside world is like.

We should probably prepare for war, though. Build a palisade in front of the cave. And that's just a suggestion, not a vote.

Our initial response is one with optimistic caution as the whole tribe is brought out to great the 7 new individuals who have come upon the island. As it would turn out: Your two tribes share a similar root primitive language and communication is not impossible, but it does involve more arm waving and pointing than casual conversation.

From what you can piece together they came from a nearby string of islands that were little more than an Exaggerated Atoll- Many other Cyclopes used to be with them as they originally came from a much larger island that slowly pushed out it's community over generations of volcanic activity and bad weather.

They have no requests: They simply wish to join and inter-marry within your community and to return to the normal lives they had once been accustomed to. The waves and the heat of this world are a constant source of both bounty and travesty.

>>36190102
