Welcome to the XIX installment of "Disney Villains Victorious."

Disney Villains Victorious is a new /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole.

It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog.

It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.

About Pirates, should be try to introduce ship-to ship combat? Include it in the game, or at least an expansion?
>>
>>36136214
Also, do villains have proper armies? It would be very unbelievable if a whole country is ruled by a great villain and a small number of mooks.

Sorry didn't post at last thread, had to go to school.
>>
>>36136214
Making vehicle combat is never easy.
>>
>>36136214
Ugh. Ship-to-ship, there's kind of a pain.

Since it's not core to the game experience itself (which is what's going on with most things that I'm shooting down) I'd say leave it for an expansion for the Pirates. Not that it doesn't have promise, but there's no reason to add it to the core when most people are never going to run into it.
>>
>>36136226
Horned King has a gigantic army of Cauldron-Born, Wights and Gwythaints.
Frollo has the Inquisition (what a show!)
Grimhilde has her various soldiers
Maleficent has her fey, though they aren't really an army per se.
>>
>>36136226
Does Atlantis have a proper army? It would be a very unbalanced affair if they do. After all, they are heads above all in technology. Maybe they have WW1 tanks?
>>
>>36136267
I guess you could say they have an army, but it's more like a small core force of mercenaries that got rolled up into an actual army. Atlantis has a relatively small population compared to everyone else, and that includes their military, proportionally.

Jafar and Shan Yu don't have magical mooks, but they do have conventional levied armies. Alameda Slim, the Hunter's Club, the Beast Kings, and Arendelle don't need armies.
>>
>>36136259
Okay. Do they have proper military commanders? Or are they commanded effectively by the Villains.

Let's talk about Gaston.

Five years ago the great hero Gaston saved his village from a terrible monster, a Beast who dwelled in a castle of horrors, who had kidnapped his fiancee, Belle, and enchanted her mind against him. But while the beast lay vanquished by Gaston's hand, Belle's mind was still not her own. She had become convinced that she had fallen in love with the monster, and so Gaston was forced to lock his love away in the asylum.

Forlorn, he sought out the one man who could undo the foul magics: Pontifex Immortalis Frollo. The Pontifex is not easily impressed, but he could sense the skill and courage of the great champion Gaston, and so he laid hands of Belle and cured her mind of its arcane rot, returning her to her right mind, and the two were married soon after.

Today they live in wedded bliss, Belle the dutiful housewife and mother to Gaston's three sons (with a fourth on the way!) while Gaston's skills as a monster-killer take him all over the world, freeing savage lands from terrors of every variety.

But danger lurks on the horizon for our hero: rumor has it Grimhilde's mirror has named Belle as a rival to the Dread Queen's beauty: is her Huntsman a match for the Beastslayer himself? And while the Pontifex surely mended Belle's mind for purely selfless reasons, certainly Gaston would feel hard pressed if asked to return the favor.
>>
>>36136289
Does mechanized warfare exist for the Atlanteans? Do they have tanks?
>>
>>36136289
Wights issue orders to the Cauldron-Born, Horned King controls Gwythaints but can hotseat the Cauldron-Born and the Wights
Frollo has a church-based hierarchy for the Inquisitors. He also has crusading armies.
Grimhilde would have a chain of command.
Maleficent mostly lets her fey do whatever, but they do as she tells them.
>>
>>36136197
In fact, let's limit our discussion to films produced by Walt Disney Pictures unless we have a very good reason to consider other subsidiaries.
>>
>>36136302
No. They're ocean-goers.
>>36136289
Frollo presumably has regular commanders, as does Grimhilde. The Horned King has absolute power over his army -- they need no commander, for they are all him.
Maleficent's fey wouldn't take well to commanders.
>>
>>36136291
If anyone would come out of his story looking like a damn hero, it's Gaston.
>>
>>36136302
Also, a thought: How would you steer a vehicle? Sure, the Drive allows you to, but how? Do you roll 3d6+Intelligence+Drive skill? It guess it would allow one more use for the Intelligence skill, while allowing you to mow down mooks for this.

But also implement engine, armor, and weapon maintenance. It would be bad if you use a vehicle early in the game.
>>
>>36136302
They had hover jet-skis and giant mecha lobsters.
>>
>>36136291
I'm for it, I don't think anything was cemented for Belle yet. Gaston would definitely have a positive reputation with the Pontifex, though I'm not sold on the Grimhilde bit, not sure if her jealousy extends beyond her borders just yet.
>>
>>36136267
they do but remember alantean tech isnt as stupidly good as people assume it was

they had the shark skimmers with lazerbeams
and everlasting life crystals, that was it.
even if they managed to produce new tech, theyve got a low population.

in short theyre like current uk, good navy and tech, but rely on politics to survive
>>
>>36136347
It's detailed on 1d4chan.

The standard Drive roll is 3d6+Agility+Drive, but you could certainly make an argument for Intelligence or Sensibility.

You don't need to use Drive for your every-day drive, just for stunt driving, trying to get the fuck out of dodge, and driving while under heavy pressure.
>>
>>36136291
Look at this badass, going hand to hand with a fucking werebear.
>>
>>36136357
>I'm not sold on the Grimhilde bit, not sure if her jealousy extends beyond her borders just yet.
Which is why it's noted as a rumor: it's a possible direction for the story to go in. Grimhilde's vanity is her most interesting feature: is she isn't spending her time hunting down the various beauties of the Disney canon, she's not really living up to her potential as a character.
>>
>>36136347
Maybe the PC's could pilot a Mini-Sub? a tank? pirate ship?
>>
>>36136386
That... is the purpose of the Drive skill, yes.

personally im just happy this smug bastard is now working for the other smug bastard

could anyone with photoshop replace the woman with rourke?

oh for the record
as a little joke over the bad (but dont worry about it, whoever thought of it) idea about Xanatos controlling the firebird

il probably gm a mission wher rourke hears about the bird and sends xanatos after it. he hires the hunters and gets his army to help him, the heroes try to stop them, but xanatos soon realizes what the firebird is, and gets the fuck away as a section of his army gets recked by it.
the hunters foolishly try to kill it and its up to the heroes to save them.
>>
>>36136291
>a Beast who dwelled in a castle of horrors, who had kidnapped his fiancee, Belle, and enchanted her mind against him.
>he laid hands of Belle and cured her mind of its arcane rot, returning her to her right mind

So "does Gaston actually BELIEVE this?" is the real question here. He never seemed to really process the idea of a woman NOT wanting to marry him, so it seems to me that he might actually believe that Frollo was curing her of some supernatural affliction.

>Five years ago...
>Belle the dutiful housewife and mother to Gaston's three sons (with a fourth on the way!)

So five years, plus time to lock Belle in the asylum while he traveled to Paris (?) to get Frollo's help, and he's managed to knock her up three times? Not impossible I guess, but damn. Maybe Frollo included hyperfertility in the deal. Maybe Frollo is attempting to breed supersoldiers using Gaston's DNA in Belle's enchanted womb.
>>
>>36136365
Weird. Why Agility? You don't need to be quick on your feet to drive, you need to know how to shift gears, accelerate, and brake. Though it is good.
>>
>>36136419
Don't get your hopes up, nothing definitive has been decided yet.
>>
>>36136432
Because Drive the skill could be seen as needing very quick reaction with what it's usually used for.

>three times?
four.
Having a litter of sons was always part of Gaston's "win" scenario, so in this world he gets it, or at least is well on his way.

>does Gaston actually BELIEVE this?
To some degree. He believes that a thinking woman is something that needs "fixing", and Frollo fixed Belle. Her certainly isn't capable of understanding why Belle would love a monster, so "magic" is the obvious conclusion he might jump to. I'm sure there some tiny voice in the back of his head telling him he's living a lie, but it's probably a very very quiet little voice.

I think I will post what I'd had for people to build off of:

>King: Empress Yzma the First and Last
While Empress Yzma's dominion over the majority of South America would seem to imply that she is doing something right, you might be hard pressed to figure out exactly what that something is. Building on the foundations of narcissism, madness and wild unpopularity laid down by her predecessor and one-time protege Emperor Kuzco, Yzma's reign has so far brought more of the same, making the transition of power a relatively smooth one from the perspective of her jaded subjects. Despite all appearances however, she is much more than just a crazy old lady that's scary beyond all reason. Empress Yzma the First and Last is a consummate mad scientist with an encyclopedic knowledge of chemistry, alchemy, pharmacology and zoology. Even beyond her love of transforming people into bizarre and ridiculous things, she is also well versed in other cartoonishly super-villainous disciplines, such as lever pulling, deathray building, monster ranching, secret laboratory rollercoasting and, her most impressive feat to date: banishing the sun from her Empire. The true threat Yzma poses to would-be adventurers and the world is not what you know she can do, but what you don't know she will do.

>Land: The Sunless Empire
The first thing an adventurer would notice about the Sunless Empire is that it does indeed appear to lack a sun, having in its place something almost but not quite like a solar eclipse with a caricature of Empress Yzma's bat-like face at the center.

And that's all I'd managed. Next I'll post Snow Queen Elsa's
>>
>>36136534
On Captain Hook: I recently noticed on Peter Pan's film, is that he actually knows how to adjust and adjust his cannons to hit Peter Pan. Thus, leads a suggestion: If the PC's fight Lord Commandeer Hook, they'll get shelled by cannons with flak rounds.
>>
>>36136571

Mulan is an undead Joan of Arc figure leading and inspiring the Spiritual Civil War in Hun Dynastic China.

>>36136572

>King:
The Snow Queen Elsa possesses or is perhaps possessed by tremendous power over ice and snow, and it's uncertain what the limits of these powers might be, or if they even exist. While she is best known for conjuring the perpetual snow storms that continue to freeze the nation of Arendelle, her magical potential includes the ability to create as well as to destroy, and she has in the past used her abilities to construct her fantastical ice palace and even imbue sentience, or at least the convincing imitation of sentience, to snowmen and other frozen contructs. Much of what is believed about the Snow Queen in the wide world at large is conjecture however, as no one has seen or spoken with her since the great blizzard began many, many years ago. While Prince Hans of the Southern Isles and many bitter Arrendelle Refugees claim that she sits now on her frigid throne high above the ruins of her former kingdom and surveys her terrible works with satisfaction, others more familiar with Elsa in her youth disagree, believing that her powers bring her only grief and madness and that this maddening grief robs her of any control she once had over them. If the Snow Queen's troubled mind can be soothed and her frozen heart thawed again, our would-be heroes might just find in her a powerful ally against the worse Villains of the world.
>>
>>36136578
Maybe Hook's traits focus on long-range bombardment and quick, heavy assaults. If the PC's could ally with him, they'll have a weathered, albeit expert pirate capable of landing beach assaults.
>>
>>36136120
this idea right there, is made of so much win!
>>
>>36136595

>Land
The land of Arendelle itself is perhaps the most actively dangerous thing any hero must face if they seek an audience with the Snow Queen. It is a country in the grips of an eldritch winter, where the temperature never rises above Zero and the land is perpetually covered in several feet of snow. Water can only be found by melting the ice, wild game is scarce and wiley, and creating a fire or a source of heat is on occasion too difficult to manage without magical assistance. In some areas, especially surrounding the frozen ruins of Arendelle's capital and the Ice Palace on the mountain above, there is also a terrible ice fog, and to breathe in this white mist is to die a horrible death, choking on frost. Perhaps the most unpredictable of all Arendelle's dangers are the frigid magical constructs of snow and ice that roam the land looking for trespassers and invaders, unbidden by their Queen but none-the-less zealously protecting her self-imposed isolation.
>>
>>36136578
Thus, his traits should be about long range bombardment, and maybe some capability to launch beachhead assaults, but they'd be poor against boarding ships. He makes for a wonderful ally the PC's could have.
>>
>>36136608

>Rule
Snow Queen Elsa doesn't exactly rule the people of Arendelle as, with a few notable exceptions, there is hardly anyone in Arendelle left to rule. After the death of her sister, Princess Anna, the cold snap and perpetual blizzard resulting from Elsa's terrible grief and loss of control forced all her surviving subjects to flee to warmer climes, leaving their nation an abandoned arctic wasteland and their capital of Arendelle an icy mausoleum filled with the flash-frozen bodies of the citizenry that had not been able to escape the cold. It is rumored however, that even as harsh and wintry as Arendelle has become, it isn't entirely devoid of life. The last group of adventurers to return from the snowbound country have said that one especially hale, hearty and hairy merchant family still lives in their hot spring-heated compound, helping supply would-be adventurers for very modest and reasonable prices, and even claim that some of the Snow Queen's oldest and dearest constructs may be capable of rational thought and empathy.

Please let me know how I can improve this. I wanted to hint at Olaf and Ice Anna at the end, but any improvements that can be made are welcome.

Well, the Kingdom of Thorns is just Aurora's kingdom overgrown with a nigh-impenetrable forest of thorns. And everyone's still alseep in it. Sometimes Maleficent will take on another form and convince someone to try and rescue the Princess, so they'll die horribly and amusingly.
Her castle's located in on the Forbidden Mountain in [a mountain range] and I'd say that the whole damn area's so saturated with magic you'll be lucky if you reach the summit in the same form as you started with.
Her minions and the Forest Army from Maleficent - the only part of that film I'm willing to include, aside from maybe The Moors as a name for her sphere of influence - are a variety of fey, with her goons being a variety of weak, simple-minded faerie. Quite why she kept them is unknown, like many things the Gentry do.
She and her fellows have driven the good faeries out or killed them, freeing many of the more mean-spirited of their kind to do as they please.
>>
>>36136900
Let's go with yes.

Of course a mother doesn't just stop caring about her children: she'd likely take the boys and run leaving Gaston to try and track them down. Could she survive the (possible) Grimhilde hunts without her badass husband? With Frollo dead, who might set their sights on her boys?

It's not like we should put our names on the credits or anything. It's a nice project that let the players BE disney heroes with an easy system. They would jump at it.
Our only demand should be a free distribution online and maybe an "thank you for all disney and tabletop fans alike"
Disney's positioning is all about inspiration and imagination. This has both. But all the DVV on a hard cover and distributed and translated by disney? Awesome.

>>
>>36137161
The idea was a neat one. It solved the problem of transport, while being in-universe. Unfortunately it doesn't with the timeline.
>>
>The party of PCs, lead by Ice Anna are shown the way through the Snow Queen's labyrinthine mountaintop palace, peacefully passing the grumbly snowlem guards as Ice Anna cheerfully vouches for your presence as "visitors" rather than invaders. All the while, the frozen construct prattles on about how fun she always assumed Arendelle used to be before the great blizzard, and how great it was to finally have more people to talk to that weren't inanimate ice sculptures.

>You eventually reach the towering crystal-ice doors to the Snow Queen's throne room, and for the first time since meeting her Ice Anna's expression turns saddened and unsure. As soon as she's noticed that you've noticed though, she turns to face the party, back to the door and puts on a big, frosty smile again, waving her hands to try and dispel any worries.

>"My siiiiii... err... that is to say, Queen Elsa, is a veeeeeery private person, and reeeeeeally doesn't like to be disturbed when she's feeling depressed. She's always feeling depressed though, sooooo I guess now's really as good a time as any to meet her!"

>The perky construct half turns toward the door, but hesitates a moment, looking back to the party, offering them an awkward smile.

>"I suppoooooose now might not be the beeeeeest time to tell you guys that Elsa doesn't exaaaaaactly like me. Olaf says it's proooooobably because I was animated by accident from the frozen body of her dead sister buuuuuut who can tell, really?"
>>
>>36137206
>Turning back toward the doors to the throne room, Ice Anna closes her eyes and clears her throat before humming a few prepratory bars. Opening her eyes again and clasping her hands behind her back, the construct leans in toward the doors and begins singing slightly off-key:

>"Do you wanna meet our guests now?"
>"These adventurers seem nice!"
>"So you should probably tone it down a bit!"
>"Before they all get frozen in the ice!"
>"Then maybe you can be best buddies!"
>"The kind that I couldn't be for you..."
>"Do you want to meet our guests now?"
>"I think it's really for the best now..."

>The frozen construct falters, allowing her voice to trail off to nothing as her improvised lyrics fail to elicit any sort of response whatsoever from the Snow Queen behind the tall, icy doors. A long, frigid silence falls over the party before Ice Anna turns back toward the PCs, trying to put on her usual, cheerful expression, but not seeming quite able to pull it off this time.

>"Sorry. I just allllllways wanted to see if that would work..."

Here's a bit of a tangent on the Beast world since it gets no fluff:
>Since the Diamond in the Rough fluff doesn't mention Abu, I'm going to headcanon him into being Captain Jack the Monkey's first mate.
>So we could have an all-Beast pirate ship with some more surviving Beast protagonists on the lam. The ship *could* be neutral territory for all Beast characters (humies not allowed, maybe?) so any fighting is behind-the scenes backstabbing.
>Jack the Monkey is a true wild card. He's perfectly willing to be down and dirty doing everything from smuggling to simply unleashing a torrent of petty burglary on the next stop. Selling out his fellow animals optional, but unlikely
>Jack the Monkey keeps Abu around because Abu has a good degree of common sense and is also a good tactician. Meanwhile, Abu coordinates any petty theft attempts (and keeps attention away from any non-evil Beast passengers.)

Possible crew members/passengers who found their way onto the ship somehow:
>Some undercover Rescue Society agents or Ratigan's forces
>Louis from Princess and the Frog and/or Ben Ali Gator from Fantasia
>The Aristocats (picked up on Africa's east coast on their way back from Timbuktu)
>Orville & Wilbur (the seagulls from Rescuers series)
>Tramp (Also, that fucking baby-killing rat works for Ratigan now.)
>Any number of dinosaurs from Madagascar (Pirate Dinosaurs, nuff zed)
>Any number of Pridelands refugees
>Any number of animals from Bagheera's Free Animal realm (maybe some apes or elephants to do some heavy lifting around the ship)
>Any number of animal characters from Muppet Treasure Island
>Maybe a parrot for interspecies communication? (Oddly, Iago's not mentioned anywhere in Jafar's fluff either, so there's an idea...)
>Dug/any special collar dog from Up (alternate for being a translator)
>Third alternate translator: Bad Polly the lobster from Muppet Treasure Island
>Remy from Ratatouille is the ship's cook after being found out in Paris.

If the Ancient Atlanteans could construct crystal-tech flying machines as large as the Leviathans, seaplanes and airships are definitely within the reach of their modern, hybridized technologies. We saw the Atlanteans using their fish-shaped aircraft in the movie and know they had a balloon-assisted lifting rig they were going to use to bring the Krystal Kida back to the surface with.

However, I would say that if the modern Imperial Republic of Atlantis were trying to construct an Air Force, I would leave that as a project stuck in development hell for reasons of resources, funding and R&D. That way, if the players can manage to get Atlantis in their side by the endgame, they can use a fleet of brand new, state of the art Atlantean-Hybrid airships to bring the fight right to Bald Mountain instead of having to dock on the nearest coast and treck inland.

That sounds good, maybe throw in something about "The memories of the long dead still walk, powered by the magic of the ice quee. Although not truly themselves, as their minds are actually creations of Elsa, these sentient statues are the frozen remains of victims long dead and thus carry the looks of their predecessors. They are exceptionally rare, as Elsa must feel a great emotion towards them. A example in case, is the Ice statue of Anna, imbued with life and Elsa's memories of the real Anna, who now wanders around the ruins of Arendelle

In the interests of bumping this thread and contributing to the continued discussion I will try and share what I'm thinking so far in terms of starting a low-level adventure in Hun Dynastic China.

The adventure would take place in a small, mountainous province in central China, established around a moderately important and strategic trade route and ruled by a Hun Dynastic governor and warlord. This Hun, the wild son of the previous governor, has decided to go a bit rogue after inheriting his new position, extorting higher taxes and tolls from the citizens of his province and the trade caravans passing through, and slowly but surely allowing violence and intolerance against the native Chinese people of the area to increase. The result has begun to rile up the local spooks, specters and ancestors, bringing the beginnings of the Spiritual Rebellion raging elsewhere to the province and with it, Mulan the Undying.

From here, what happens really depends on the characters that the players have created. Are they Chinese native to the region, or foreign travelers passing through or looking for something? Do they know about Mulan's Spiritual War? Do they want to join it?

Ugh. Crunch-fu feels weak today, and I'm posting from school so I can't work on the fluff sitting at home on my PC. But there is still one matter I'd like to discuss.

I believe that it was in the seventh thread that we agreed to keep the details of Arthur's fate in quantum superposition; we had a list of possible fates, and agreed to write all fluff in a way that would allow any of them to be true, save for fluff that relies on a specific possibility as a premise, such as the different Knights of Round Table posted by me and that other anon.

Now in every thread since then I have seen a at least one new fate for a hero that wasn't proposed before. Perhaps we (and by 'we' I mean 'not me') should go back through the archives, compile all the proposed fates, throw out the ones we absolutely despise and leave the rest as details for the GM to decide upon.

Also, something less serious I've been meaning to post since yesterday:
>Wild West or Virginia campaign
>character is white guy who sympathizes with the plight of the native tribes
>the time comes for him to sing his song
>sings this

>>36137981

How's this?

The last group of adventurers to return from the snowbound country have said that one especially hale, hearty and hairy merchant family still lives in their hot spring-heated compound, helping supply would-be adventurers for very modest and reasonable prices and claim that some of the Snow Queen's oldest and dearest Snowlems may be capable of rational thought and empathy. It is even whispered that Princess Anna herself still walks the snow-choked streets of the capital as one of her own sister's frozen constructs, flesh and blood turned to pure blue ice and glittering white rime, though most of Arendelle Refugees choose to dismiss these as hurtful rumors.

Well, i've seen and talked to a lot of regional marketing disney employees, turns out they are total /tg/ nerds, one might be on this threads.
Just saying, it might work out, and it would be awesome if disney gave their aproval. Disney could do so much with this kind of market it would be scary. If we could get to talk with the higher ups, they would totally dig it.

Given that Merlin seems to be able to fuck with time magic at will perhaps him or Arthur actually being stuck in a quantum superposition would be a good idea?
Let's reinterpret the phrase "The once and future King."
Plus maybe they could know how the whole universe is fucked up and be a variable quest giver trying to right the wrongs of this universe while never appearing in the same form twice.

If they're in actual quantum superposition, then what determines what state they'll fall into when observed? Obviously, it'll be something the PCs have to do, but what?

Additionally, if Merlin is not dead or sealed away as has been previously suggested, who's to say that he can't, with the of the PCs, change everything to the CANON canon?

Like that one piece of fluff that had Merlin as one of Undead Mulan's contacts.

>Will he discover the true meaning of love? Or will he drown his would be bride and then make it with the corpse?

>>
>>36138667

Aren't weird stories the best, though?

I would be down for a disney movie about the Vitória-Régia myth. The woman that chased the moon for many nights and then got drowned and turned into a flower. Just show her going up to the sky as a star afterwards because of Love Magic™ and we have something.
>>
>>36138594
Good point.
If Merlin is alive i like the idea of him being written off as insane but he'd still need to be sealed and/or powerless to actually change anything. I should have specified that option from the start in my previous post.
Alternatively >>36138652 summed up how I figured he also could act.

As for what changes the state perhaps it can be dependent on the individual?
Each person sees Arthur differently and as time goes on and they get higher level they see him closer to his "true form" as the young child Arthur. It could form a nice parallel to how Merlin in myth was said to age backwards.
I think we would need a decently sized table for that.
>>
>>36138667
Yeah, from what I remember from a previous thread, it all breaks down to 'this monster is horrible, don't fuck with it'. However, Frozen was derived from The Snow Queen, and they are not even close to being the same story, so if they can distort it that much maybe Disney could do some interesting stuff with hueland mythology.
>>
>>36138496
perfectly fine with this as this is a logical reason (mostly i mean weve got arthur in the same time zone as ww1 rourke in the same time zone as greek mythology)
to be fair i get that since the area hes from is the same as a villain from a completely different time zone.

>Corpo-Seco ("Dry Corpse") — a man so evil that the earth would not rot its flesh and the devil would return his soul. Condemned to wander fruitlessly the earth until the judgment day.
>Boitatá — a headless giant snake with bull horns and enormous fiery eyes that crawls over the open fields at night. Sometimes described as a giant fire snake. Looking at its eyes blinds people.
>Homem do Saco — literally, "Sack Man" or "Bag Man", a mid-aged or elder drifter who visits households in search of naughty young children for him to carry away with him, in his sack or bag. When the Sack Man happens to knock at a house whose residents have a naughty kid that they no longer want, these parents give the Sack Man their kid, that he puts up in his sack and carries away forever. This story was told to children as a way to make them behave and respect their parents, under the fear of being given away to the Sack Man if they didn't act good.
>Saci Pererê — a mischievous single-legged black elf-like creature who is blamed as the culprit of anything that goes wrong at a farm (Centre, South-East) and is the mascot of Sport Club Internacional (South). The Saci is known as a trickster and usually appears in farms inside wind swirls. If someone steals its red cap he'll exchange it for a favour.
>Cabeça Satânica — The wandering head is a widespread Brazilian ghost story of European origin. Appears to people that wander alone in the night as a stranger with its back turned to the victim. Its body melts to the ground and only the head with long hair, wide eyes and a large mischievous smile remains, hopping or rolling towards the victim.

Homem do Saco as the mercenary figure they use to kidnapp children. They only kidnap children that misbehave because they have darkness on their hearts or some shit, and they use that to power themselves.

Have two siblings leave home and go look for their lost brother, who while DEFINITELY not a saint and not used to behave, wasn't a bad person per se.

In the middle of the way, the meet the Saci Pererê, fairy trickster, patron saint of being a dick and fucking about. He lends them his tornado for a ride towards the only one left that can illuminate the way towards Dry Corpse's and Devil's Head lair, the boitatá.

They must pass a test of purity of heart, for "if your hearts are not pure, you will simply be consumed and lost forever like your brother".

They storm the lair

Boitatá starts fucking shit up because FUCK YEAH, giant fire snake.

Saci appears mid-battle and does his trickster things as the kids go to try and save the kids and their brother

BUT OH NO, THEIR BROTHER IS ALREADY EMPTY!

Along the way, he runs into the Corpo-Seco who takes sings a song about the dangers of the jungle and brasil. Afterwords He warns him to run home, but conceits the hide out of the Sack Man. Eventually, he comes across Saci who is partially comic relief, who turns hi around and gets him lost. >>
>>36138963

Essentially, the Boto, sometimes called Boto-Cor-De-Rosa (Pink Boto) is a species of river dolphin.

In the legend, whenever a town would throw a party (In June there is this thing called the Festa Junina, pretty fun) one of the Botos would become a very handsome man with a blowhole on his head. He wore a hat to cover it.

And then he would go into the town and the party and seduce young women for fun, only to dissapear again into the river in the morning

I'm quite sure that in the original it was him getting them pregnant, but I am not sure about that. Essentially it's a "Don't sleep with somebody you have just met", I think. Still pretty neat

So....what's the point of knocking up a woman if the offspring is a perfectly normal human?
>>
>>36138998

Having sex and not having to help raise the child, I'd say. Sex feels good, and they also get to enjoy a party.

Seriously, most of the brazilian spirits/creatures are just in it for themselves because it might be fun and because they're a bunch of chucklefucks
>>
>>36138998
For the sex, obviously
>>
>>36139017
Yeah, but it says the explicit purpose is to knock the woman up. Sex with no risk of having to raise a kid is one thing, but this is......eugh.

Which might explain why there is no Disney movie in here. They'd have to butcher them up pretty badly

We have an saying that claims bastards as filhos de boto, or son's of boto.
Imagine a bohemian asshole that goes around impregnating girls for lulz and lewds. Just because.
The thing about here is, we have so many cultures mixed that anything that comes from here is strange as fuck and awesome at the same time.
The /tg/ gamera are very vocal too. Tormenta is a brazilian made adaptation of dnd with is own setting and manga.
There is also porn of said setting.
>>
>>36139037

Again, because it might be fun. They probably brag about it to their Boto-bros during the rest of the year.

"Yeah, Bob, you think you're a cool guy? I knocked up three different girls last june, you faggot."

And mostly, remember.

Brazilian creatures are dicks. They're spirits of nature, so I assume that they simply say "Well, they re my turf, so what the fuck. I'm going to do whatever the hell I want, and they can deal with it."
>>
>>36139039
Well all that was wrong with Hercules....no, HERACLES....was him being a literal bastard and the Hera-induced family-killing rage.

Kind of surprising that the rest of the mythos gives them no destructive powers, but also dissuades folks from killing them. Yeah, they have that curse-eye, but I personally would adopt a spear-on-sight policy for creatures that supposedly went around knocking up human women for the fun of it. Presuming, of course, said creatures couldn't easily wipe the jungle floor with my ass.
>>
Alright, so now that you guys know a bit about brazilian folklore, you understand why it was suggested that it would be the good fey refuge?

Because all that there is in there is dickass nature spirits instead of some greater evil
>>
>>36139112

I've been trolling the archives for heroes' statuses, and someone brought up the idea of the Blue Fairy heading a kingdom:

King: The Blue Fairy - Wishes. She from time to time appears as a shining blue star in the night sky. Legend says that if you make a wish upon this star, your wish comes true. She adheres to this and listens closely for any wishes uttered by someone she deems worthy to have their wish granted. Then she does what she can to make it come true with her magic.

Land: Magical Realm Of Faeries. She, along with other faeries like the Fairy God Mother and the trio of Faeries that took care of Princess Aurora, exist in the plane of Faeries, a land of magic in its rawest form. This realm contains faeries who would come at the behest of others to grant them their deepest desires. Some vary from fairy to fairy, but for the most part, everyone got what they paid for. Yes. Pay.

Rule: Magic Comes With A Price. The fine print exists for wishes as well. Wishes granted by faeries usually come with a price: their soul, their baby, their voice, a limited time... But compared to them, the Blue Fairy is the nicest when it comes to prices: the Blue Fairy's price is that the person in question of making the wish must prove themselves worthy. This can range to preforming a task for her, showing you really deserve this wish, or by showing her three positive traits, like being honest, brave, and unselfish.

I don't know if this is still a thing, or what. Just another idea.
>>
>>36139112
Thin, though, is the line between dickass and evil....

Alright guys, I tried to stat a punch fairy. Tell me what you think

Simmertap

Strong Guy
Pixie – Tiny

ROBUSTNESS: 10/10

Nimbleness: 6+4/12 (Tiny size bonus)

Intelligence: 7/10

Sensibility: 7/10

Charisma: 8/10

Skills:

Athletics 3

Endure 2

Brawl 3

Prevent Harm 4

Traits:

-Faith, Trust, Pixie Dust: If the character is not under any sort of mental distress, +2 to Acrobatics and Athletics checks

-Like Trying To Hit A Fly: +2 to Prevent Harm checks if using Nimbleness

-Combo: If your Nimbleness exceeds that of the foe by at least 5 points, you can attack a second time in the same turn.
>>

>>
>>36139239
Are those all traits we agreed upon? I haven't been keeping track of the racial things.

Also, you need a power. I remember coming up with something good that I couldn't put a name to; you get +3 to all Prevent Harm and Acrobatics checks, BUT bad shit keeps happening around you. You always manage to dodge it, but everyone around you? Not so much. Or maybe that was a trait. Yeah, it was a trait. So, I dunno, give yourself some kind of power where you increase your ally's speed by allowing them to snort your pixie dust like cocaine or some shit.
>>
>>36139307
Powerful enough to give Ursula pause.

Magic vs Machine...difficult to say. Depends on the magic, depends on the machine.

>>
>>36139309

Monstro in the Med, Leviathan in the Atlantic and Kraken in the Pacific.
>>
>>36139307

If I recall correctly, we has been talking about the possibility that the Leviathans were state of the art at the time of Atlantis' sinking, and as such there were only a few built and only the one damaged unit guarding Atlantis proper surviving to the modern day. It might be a good plot line for Atlantis that their R&D and exploratory teams are trying to unlock their secrets, discover the facility that built them and construct more.

They could be Atlantis' big contribution in the final fight against Chernobog.
>>
>>36139372

Yay someone mentioned Monstro.

I was wondering if you had had anything on that mofo.
>>
>>36139343
The Krakken from Atlantis 2.
Morgana, sort of.
The Evil Manta, sort of.
Robot Shark (JatGP)
Tylosaurus, Fantasia
Ceto, Hercules
Giant Squid, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea
>>
>>36139324
Well, Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust seems okay. So does Combo; it sounds overpowered at first, but even with Nimbleness 12 it's not going to do you any good against significant opponent. Like Trying To Hit A Fly, though, I must object to. Since you have no reason not to use Nimbleness for your Prevent Harm, it's really just a +2 Prevent Harm. The point of traits is that you either use them only part of the time, or you use them all the time and suffer the drawbacks.

You might like a trait I dreamed up 2 threads ago:
>But I Did Not Shoot The Deputy: +3 to all checks to judge someone's moral character.
It sounds like something a fairy might have.
>>
>>36139362
> one
This are ultra fast destruction machine donkeys made of fire and hatred. Fuck me if he doesn't have a full platoon of them.
>>
>>36139383
Well I think Atlantis 2's Kraken and the Giant Squid were both just Davy Jones' Kraken.

Morgana and the Manta are actual individuals and don't count as Sea Monsters.

Ceto and the Robot Shark are small time compared to the other three.

Stick a Tylosaurus around Madagascar and the African coast and that gives us four Sea Monsters.

Some threads ago we were discussing how does the Horned King command his armies of Cauldronborn, especially the ones on the mainland (yes, he can teleport, but he can't be in two places at once). Maybe he has reluctantly shared a fraction of his magical secrets with some of his vassals/sworn nobles? Not enough to try anything funny, just the bare minimum so that the undead kinda listen to what they say. Or we could give him Barrow Wights or some other type of semi-intelligent undead, like another anon had suggested. This could add a little more spice to the normal Cauldronborn encounters.
>>
>>36139920

Couldn't he relay some orders to certain cauldronborn and have them act as generals, commanding the rest of the troops when he couldn't?

Or maybe he has a psychic link

Come, gather round children, and let me tell you the sad, sad tale of poor Mr. Lampman.

Mr. Lampman wasn't always a lowly peasant living in a shack in the desert. He wasn't always a poor man desperately trying to make ends meet. He wasn't always living in the shadow of the devilish Jafar.

Once upon a time, Mr. Lampman was almost a hero. He was one of the most powerful magical forces in the world. Until one fateful day, when it was all snatched away.

Mr. Lampman tried to stop Jafar but, instead, he fell into his grasp. He was forced to give up his magical powers and was set loose into the world to try and survive. Mr. Lampman persevered but things were never the same.

Mr. Lampman lives each day as it comes, but he wishes that things could go back to how they were before. He wishes he could undo his mistakes. He wishes a million things, but his wishes never come true.

Poor old Gene Lampman. Just a mortal man, destined to fade away without anyone noticing.

He has the Wights, who have a programmed personality that makes them skilled battle commanders, fanatical loyalty to the HK and the ability to intimidate opponents. They have a castle on an Isle to the south of England.

>>36139945
He can also hotseat any of his Cauldron-Born to assume direct control, same for his Gwythaints.
>>
>>36139920
Arawn commanded mortals as well as Cauldronborn in the books, but I cannot recall if he ever placed mortals in command of Cauldronborn. In any event, I imagine the Horned Kings list of preferences for long distance control would be, in order of most to least desirable:
>projecting his own presence with magic
>creating intelligent undead that would still be bound to obey him
>letting mortals tell his Cauldronborn what to do
>>
>>36139920
Not a bad idea, a bunch of Cauldronborn lead by a rotting mockery of a knight would make for an interesting encounter, I think.

Yes, another solution was that he had discovered a method to give some selected few cCauldronborn a semblance of intelligence to act as his lieutenant. The initial argument was that normal Cauldronborn are pretty much mindless puppets when he's not actively pushing them around, and he can hardly teleport or assume direct control for every little task like changing patrol routes.

I see the lieutenants as being imbued with a small mote of the Horned King himself. They're physically not much different than the other Cauldron-born and they're unquestioningly loyal; but they act like the HK himself, and they sound like him too.

I really don't see the Horny King sharing the secrets of his black magic with anyone or letting some schmuck order his minions around, but he could have probably lichified or spellbound them in some way, maybe in exchange for greater privileges or protection for their still-living family.

Okay, looking about I've found 3 characters that could be putting giants in Prydain. Problem is, they're all in shorts with Mickey.

Eh, close enough. Try ogres or trolls, and if they're not there then fuck it, we've included things that are a lot less Disney-related than Mickey shorts because of the rule of cool, we can include giants.

shouldn't we make the mission in hunnic china twofold:
first part: depose shan yu and have him executed
second part: prevent the 12 great houses from wiping each other out to find the next emporer

To be fair you can really only use written contracts upon the literate. Otherwise you can end up with people refusing to sign because they don't know what's on the contract.
