So far you've been able to leave the girls to go about their business mostly unattended and they would actually do what they're meant to do. You know that's not how children work. Somehow they have been keeping the ship in one piece despite the indications that they don't even know what they're doing, somehow keeping themselves out of harm's way. You're not delusional, you know that every moment nothing is going wrong with children is a miracle. The time for miracles has just ended.Distressed screams continue to pierce your ears as you quickly ascend the stairs to arrive back on the deck. A small part of your mind briefly notes that the sun is beginning to set for the first time on your journey, painting the sky a dark red that is both beautiful and foreboding. That part of your mind is quickly silenced by the rest, your attention snapping back to the situation at hand. Your girls need you.A few paces further down the deck you see all of your girls lined in front of the railing in various states of panic, Nadine screeching at top of her lungs as she runs in circles on the spot, your sister Nina leaning over the railing with both arms reaching out towards the water as tears stream down her face, and Camilla sitting helplessly by the edge as she stares into the water with wide eyes. But you don't see the source of their- Wait.Where's May?
>>36101744You are the Loli Talker, aka Nee-chan, a specialist dealing in bringing unreasonable lolis to reason. Currently you are on a very peculiar job, having been hired for unclear reasons by some eccentric fat cat with more money than he knows what to do with to guide a ship across the Pacific from the United States to Japan aided only by a tiny crew of equally small girls. Most recently you shared a moment of honesty with Lisa, the only other person on the ship that can be expected to voluntarily brush her own teeth. Now that moment has passed and all that matters is the now. Behind you, Lisa has just climbed the stairs following you, still looking about in confusion to determine what is going on. The initiative is yours.>Try to calm down Nadine so she can explain the situation to you? >Attempt to get a coherent explanation from Nina?>Camilla seems the calmer of the three, ask her what happened?>Something else? (Write in)
>21:00:55Phew, I was almost late to my own thread! That would have been embarrassing.
>>36101755>Attempt to get a coherent explanation from Nina?
>>36101755>Attempt to get a coherent explanation from Nina?Nadine is panicking, it will take a long time to calm her down.Camilla is in shock. Same as above.
>2 votes in the first 20 minutesI'll uhm, I'll just wait a little longer to see if anyone else pops in before I start writing.
>>36101755I'm pretty late at least.>Try to calm down Nadine so she can explain the situation to you?
>>36102087Guess it's just a slow start.
You grab your sister by the shoulders, quickly turning her around to face you. She lets out a quiet "owie" at the rough handling, but her comfort comes second in the current situation. You need to know what happened here so you can fix it and you need to know right now. You don't need to ask before she starts rambling on her own."Nee-chan! I- I- I j-just wanted to-" She lets out between sobs. "And I dropped it and May shejumpedinbutsheisstilldownthere!" Her words melt together as quickens her pace before breaking back into incoherent sobs. Looking past her, you notice the ripples in the water still remaining. Nadine's panicked screams do not cease through all of this and Camilla still has not moved an inch.Lisa steps up to the railing beside you, casting a quick glance to you. "I'm going in.">Let her jump in, try to calm the girls meanwhile>Let her jump in, try to find a rope or ladder or anything else that can helplessly>Stop her, jump in yourself>Something else? (Write-in)Yes, you can swim, in case you were worrying.
>>36102551>Let her jump in, try to calm the girls meanwhileSure, why not.
>>36102551>Stop her, jump in yourself
>>36102551>Stop her, jump in yourselfTell Lisa to calm the girls down if possible.
>>36102551>Stop her, jump in yourselfWe have a responsibility!
>>36102551>Let her jump in, try to find a rope or ladder or anything else that can helplesslyShe is a lot stronger.
>5 votes>IP count: 5 including meHmm, I wonder if someone is being a naughy anon. We wouldn't want that, would we now? Naughy girls get punished when they get caught, remember.Or maybe the stupid thing is broken, I don't know. I'll just write some more I guess.
>>36102798Don't trust that thing.
>>36102798I dunno if it's accurate or not, probably is?
>>36102872Any reason not to?
>>36102551>>36102956Oh, also >Stop her, jump in yourselfNot that I'm in time.
>>36102551Can Lisa swim? If yes let her jump in, if no or we're not sure we do it as we definitely can.
>>36102798It's probably not broken, though who knows.
>>36102956Well, most of us have dynamic IPs, which I think confuse that counter.I could be replying to myself right now.
>>36102994Dynamic IPs can only increase the counter.
>>36102994If that were the case than in a few hours the counter should be close to a hundred. In the other quests I'm in the counter doesn't get that high even if lots of people tend to respond.Nothing stops the samefags though, they have no shame.
>>36102994I dunno if most anons use dynamic, really.
Lisa is probably a lot stronger than you. Probably a much better swimmer than you. Probably better suited for this than you in every way. Except one. You push her back, giving her a light shake of your head as you step up to the railing yourself. "You stay here with the girls, try to calm them down." Lisa is about to voice her protest to point out the obvious but stops, a moment of clarity crossing her face as she instead nods affirmatively. "Good luck." You raise your left leg over the railing, then the other. Your heart is racing as you look into the water beneath you, the ripples you saw now fully washed away by the waves. You take a deep breath, the sounds of Nadine's screeches and your sisters wailing fading from your consciousness as you focus yourself completely on the one thing that matters right now. That's your girl down there.>Let's roll some dice to see how well you do! D100s as usual, best of three, crits and critfails active.
>>36102798But why would anyone do such a thing, Nee-chan? That does sound really naughty!
Rolled 17 (1d100)>>36103068Alright!
Rolled 2 (1d100)>>36103068
Rolled 95 (1d100)>>36103068Dice, don't fail me now!
>>36103110DICE YOU HAVE NOT FAILED ME NOW
>>36103110Clutch roll anon, clutch roll.
Haha, those are certainly some interesting rolls. Writing. It's not like I'd let anything TOO bad happen.
>>36103068The air rustles at your loose clothes as you leap from the edge head first, leaving nothing but the rapidly approaching waves in your vision. You're far from perfect. You couldn't count all the terrible things you've done in the past, the times you've hurt people, especially the ones that believed in you the most. You've stolen, you've lied, you've done so much more harm than good in your life. But you've never lost one of your girls. And you're not about to.The water crashes roughly against your face, the cold washing over your body as you descend serving only to remind you of the urgency. Even this close to the surface your sight is severely impaired. You scan the waters around you for May, any signs of her, really anything but more water. Probably only a few moments pass but you're convinced several minutes vanished before you finally see it. A small stream of air bubbles rushing to the surface. You home in on your target and only a few strokes later you see May come into your sight, trashing her legs weakly while holding on to... something, you can't quite tell, with both arms. Eyes and mouth are both open wide as she goes in circles, making no progress towards the surface in her panic. When you finally reach her the trashing has stopped. You wrap an arm around her and start kicking for the surface. On breaching the surface only a short distance from the ship you hear Lisa calling out to you from above. The words don't really reach you, you don't need words to understand the meaning as she throws the rope to you. You grab hold with your free arm and she begins pulling. She yells something, and the force pulling on the rope grows stronger.Back on the deck, the girls seemed to have calmed down at least enough to be helpful until you set down the now unconscious May. All three gather around her, aimlessly trying to help with no clue what help actually is. A sharp yell from Lisa to get out the way and you're left free to check the girl.1/2
>>36103944She's still breathing.Lisa kneels down beside you, placing a hand on your shoulder. "Let me take it from here, I've dealt with this before. Just get the girls away." You don't argue this time. You quickly stand up and grab Nadine and Camilla by the arms to drag them to the bridge where they won't get in the way. Nina hesitates, but a quick glare later and she follows as well.Inside, you sit the girls down by the table still littered with Nadine's maps, you yourself opting to remain standing to appear stronger even as the chill of your wet clothes threaten to send you into shivers. You still don't know how this happened but at least one of them must. And at least they appear calm enough to talk now.>Nadine always strives to be the good girl. Ask her what happened?>Ask Nina again? Maybe this time you'll actually understand what she's saying.>Camilla was probably involved. She's always involved when something goes wrong. Make her explain?
>>36103992>Nadine always strives to be the good girl. Ask her what happened?Seems the safest choice.
>>36103992>Ask Nina again? Maybe this time you'll actually understand what she's saying.
>>36103992>Camilla was probably involved. She's always involved when something goes wrong. Make her explain?
>>36103992>Nadine always strives to be the good girl. Ask her what happened?
>>36103992>Nadine always strives to be the good girl. Ask her what happened? And get out of those wet clothes and find ourself a blanket.
>>36103992>Ask Nina again? Maybe this time you'll actually understand what she's saying. She did say she dropped something earlier so she does atleast know what happened.
>>36103992>Nadine always strives to be the good girl. Ask her what happened?Best and most reliable.
>>36103992You cast a quick glance between the girls. Camilla's eyes are finally refocused though it would be a lie to call her calm, her head resting on her knees as she holds her legs hugged tightly against herself. Nina is carefully examining the intricate details of her feet while weakly trying to hold back sniffles. And Nadine... seems to have shifted her attention to you. Or rather, your clothes. You know what she's thinking, but that will have to wait. You cough twice and try to pretend you were just clearing your throat. That catches her attention back and you raise your question. "Nadine, tell me what happened." She looks nervously over to the other two girls before answering, throwing Camilla a glare. "I didn't see it, Captain Nee-chan. I heard the splash and when I got out Nina and Camilla were standing there. Maybe Camilla pushed her?"Camilla instantly jumps to her feet yelling, both arms in the air. "What! I didn't do anything! She's just trying to blame me because she hates me!" Nadine pouts in response. "You're a bad girl. It's just what bad girls do." Camilla raises her voice even higher, outraged. "I wasn't even there! She's lying!""You're the liar!""No, you are!""Am not!""Is too!"Between their shouting, Nina is covering both ears with hands as she squirms nervously. Your route of investigation is clearly yielding nothing and you're about to redirect your attention her when you're interrupted by a knock on the open door.Lisa steps slowly into the room with both hands behind her back, all eyes quickly settling on her as she begins to speak. "The girl will be fine. I put her in her bed and she should probably stay there. Just make sure she gets some sleep and stays warm for now."1/2
>>36104896She looks you over quickly. "The latter probably goes for you too. One more thing first, though..." She reveals the object she had been holding behind her back, displaying the blue elephant plushie to all of you. "She was holding this. Do you have any idea why it was so important to her?" >Tell Lisa you have no idea why it's important?>Ask Nina what happened?>Something else? (Write-in)I'll have to disappear for a short while, shouldn't be much longer than it takes you guys to vote. Just letting you know that the next update may take a little longer and you have time to maybe argue or something. Or not, whatever you like really.
>>36105030>Ask Nina what happened?
>>36105030>Ask Nina what happened?Better not have been the troublemaker.
>>36105030>Ask Camilla what happened?Might as well.
>>36105030I gotta sleep, so thanks for running!
>>36105030It's clear to you now who you have to ask if you want some answers here. "Nina." Her attention snaps from the plushie and back to you as you call out. "Do you know what happened?" Her eyes clearly signal her fear as she looks up at you. She turns her eyes to the plushie in Lisa's hands, then back to you, then the plushie again. Finally, she springs from her seat, sprints over to Lisa and snatches the plushie from her hands before sitting back in her chair, hugging the elephant tightly for comfort. Strengthened, she wimpers quietly. "It was my fault. I dropped it and it fell in the water. Then... Then she jumped after it! Just like that! I... I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! It was an accident!" Lisa speaks before you get a chance. "So she jumped in just for that toy? What, is it her favorite or something?"Nina slowly shakes her head. "No, it's... It's mine! I was just showing it to her and I dropped it!" Lisa raises an eye brow at that, still sceptical. "So she did that just for your toy? That's... I don't even know."You answer for her, your annoyance at the situation clear in your voice. "It's stupid. It's only a toy, not a person." Nina gives you a shocked gasp. "It's not just a toy! Don't you remember, Nee-chan?">Do you remember?
>>36105852I won it for you at that shooting game.
>>36105852>I-I do remember. But its still not worth a person Nina.
>>36105852We won it for her, but it's worth anyone getting hurt over.
>>36105852>...Go cry somewhere or something.
>>36105946*it's not worthJeez.
>>36105852Tell her we remember but it's not worth dying for.
>>36105852You calmly step toward her, bringing yourself within arm's reach. You look down at the elephant. A toy. May risked her life just for a stupid toy. You recognize it, the one you won for your sister two years ago. She kept it all this time, apparently. You swipe it out from her arms and she jumps up trying to grab it back but you're still tall enough to keep it out of her reach."I remember. I gave you this one." You hold it up to look closer at it. Aside from being wetter, it looks just like you remember it. "You like it that much?"Nina gives up her attempt at taking back the plushie, switching into a pout. "It's my favorite! It's important!" You turn your gaze down to give her a mocking smile. "Because I gave it to you?" She lets up the pout slightly. "Yeah! So give it back!"You let go of the plushie, letting it fall freely. She scrambles, only barely managing to catch it between her arms as it falls. You kneel down before her, locking eyes with her as you grab her by the shoulders. "It's still just a toy, Nina. You wouldn't really want May to get hurt just for it, would you?" She goes on the defensive, managing to both hug the elephant and pout at the same time, looking away from you. "I didn't tell her to! She just did it on her own! I never wanted her to hurt herself!" You gently bring your hand up to turn her face back to you. "Then tell her that so she doesn't do it again. She obviously doesn't understand, so you'll have to teach her. Can you do that for me?"She holds the plushie even tighter, water spilling from it as she squeezes it. Looking at her like that, you kind of miss the thing too. But you'll just have to forget that, you'd look ridiculous if you asked to borrow it now! Finally after several long moments she nods her head. "Okay, Nee-chan." Immediately she runs off, past Lisa and out the door, still holding the elephant tight.1/2
>>36106810Outside, the sun is still setting. You do have a bit of day left but it will be dark soon. They're not showing it yet but you doubt your girls will last much longer. You're still at open sea so you could try to make it to the nearest island to stop and let the girls rest for the night though they may be pushed to exhaustion by the time you get there. Or you could send them to bed right now, taking turns to keep watch in case you hit a freak wave or something.Regardless, you should really see about drying up.>Push for the nearest island?>Call it a day?>I have no idea what the alternative is, but here's the write-in option in case you have something.
>>36106834>Push for the nearest island?Yep.
>>36106834>Call it a day?
>>36106834>Go dry up and let Lisa decide what to do.
>>36106942And there's that third option my brain couldn't come up with. It's so obvious now.
>>36106834>Push for the nearest island?
>>36106834>>36106942Sure, this sounds fun.
>>36106834You feel you should use the bit of day you still have left. It's late spring so it should take the sun a while longer to set. You break the awkward silence that had settled in the room. "Nadine, how far is the nearest island?" She springs to attention, shuffling through her maps, taking several quick measurements before jumping into a salute. "No idea, Captain!" Camilla lets out a mocking laugh and Nadine returns an annoyed glare. Sighing, Lisa steps up next to Nadine. "Here, let me look at it. Which one are you- oh, that one? Heh, you really don't know where you are, do you?" She turns to give you a wink. "You want to reach that island? Just look out the front."You do just that and see a small island with a single large palm tree at the center and you're approaching it quickly. That might be bad. You call to Nadine to slow down the ship and steer around it, to which she responds nervously. "But Captain, we're not moving." What? But then that means... the island is approaching you?>Do ships have a reverse gear? You don't even know, tell Nadine to hit that anyway!>Order Nadine to get you moving and try to steer around it?>Do nothing?>Obligatory write-in option.
>>36106942I'll vote this.
>>36106942>>36107201>>36107436Woops, that's the majority now. Eheh... Sorry?
>>36107424>Order Nadine to get you moving and try to steer around it?Well we don't want to crash into it.
>>36107424>Order Nadine to get you moving and try to steer around it?
>>36107453Eh, anons were late anyway.
>>36107424>Do ships have a reverse gear? You don't even know, tell Nadine to hit that anyway!PANIC
>>36107424"Well then get us moving!" You cry out. "Before we crash into that thing!" Nadine frantically begins to press buttons everywhere while Camilla takes her cue to rush off to the engines again. In just a few moments you're picking up speed and sharply turning to the right. The island continues to draw closer until you're almost right next to it. And then... it follows you? You've turned a full ninety degrees and are moving at full speed but the island remains just a short distance from your left side. Nadine takes a break from mashing buttons, looking up to you. "Captain, what should we do?" Fear rings clearly in her voice, clearly unprepared for this situation. You can't really blame her. You're not sure anyone would be prepared. Except maybe...Behind you, Lisa has settled into one of the now empty chairs with her feet resting on a second chair. You can clearly hear her trying to hold back her laughter.>Tell Nadine to turn completely away from the island?>Stop completely, see how the island responds?>Ask Lisa to help out?
>>36107881>Stop completely, see how the island responds?Clearly!
>>36107881>Stop completely, see how the island responds?
>>36107881>Ask Lisa to help out?We can see her.
>>36107881>Stop completely, see how the island responds? If we slow down gradually it can't crash in to us too hard, probably.
>>36107881If what you're doing isn't working, you should try something radically different. You're pretty sure someone told you that once. You're not sure how what you're seeing is possible, but in recent times your idea of possible has shifted a lot. You have universally dealt with that fact by simply not trying to understand what's going on. Some might suggest that's just being wilfully ignorant but it's helped you before. It'll help you again. Your order is simple."Stop."Nadine looks worriedly between you and the island currently stalking you. "C-captain? Are you sure? That thing is still-" You cut her off, repeating your order."Stop."Nadine reluctantly complies, and a few moments of buttonmashing later the ship has been brought to a halt. Looking to your left, you see the island has followed suit, stopping right next to your ship. Behind you Lisa finally regains control of her laughter, standing up from her overly relaxed position."Good call. So you really don't know where you are, huh? I didn't think anyone actually wound up here accidentally nowadays. You even have that map, but you still don't know? I suppose I never asked why you came here anyway?">Ask her what she knows about that island?>Ask her what she means 'where you are', aren't you just in the Pacific?>Tell her why you're here?>Anything else? (Write-in)
>>36108498>Ask her what she knows about that island?>Ask her what she means 'where you are', aren't you just in the Pacific?
>>36108498>Ask her what she means 'where you are', aren't you just in the Pacific?>Ask her what she knows about that island?
>>36108498You don't quite feel like answering questions. You have too many of your own to be answered first so you decide to ignore Lisa's. "What do you know about that island? Why did it follow us?"She gives you a sly smile. "You wanted to find it, so it came. Simple. That's called Christmas Tree Island, you can probably tell why, and it's always exactly where it needs to be. In this case, it's keeping you from the exit."You remember that name. It was on Nadine's map. So that's probably a good thing, must mean you're heading the right way. You're no less confused by the gibberish though. "The exit? What do you mean exit, it's the ocean. Buildings have exits, not oceans."This time she fails to hold back her laughter. Only after several moments of waiting for her to finish do you receive an answer. "You're not just anywhere, silly. It's a very special place" She points to the island outside. "And that's the exit. What, didn't this place seem a little unusual to you? Magical islands and all that? Really, it's amazing that you even managed to enter without knowing how to do that. Good thing I'm here to help you, huh?"She lets out a short chuckle. "Well, it may be a little late but I suppose I should say it. Welcome to the Lolizone."
>>36109031And I should probably end the thread here. I'm tired, most of you are probably tired, and the chance of me hitting the end of the episode by this thread has dropped to zero.
