Welcome to the XII installment of "Disney Villains Victorious."Disney Villains Victorious is a new /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole. It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog. It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+Victorioushttp://1d4chan.org/wiki/Disney_villains_victoriousI'll include pastebins when I get a collection of the things, or if we get a pastebin-pastebin.
>>36089341THIS SHOULD BE THREAD XIII, I APOLOGISE
>>36089341I love this plot so much. Are y'all planning this as a game on here or a board game irl?
>>36089454Damn it Twisted! You had one job! Go eat a Snickers!Anyway, resposting some traits that I made last thread that got swallowed>Record ScratcherWhen a character starts a musical number, gain an attack of opportunity (Is that a thing?) on that character>Brothers in Arms+1 bonus to combat rolls for every character in the party that uses the same type of weapon or comes from the same homeland>Hakuna Matata!+2 to resist on any sort of mental distress>I'll figure it out.+2 bonus when trying to use or operate any device that the player has not come in contact with before>Meowr!-1 to Intimidate.>ROAR!!+4 to Intimidate. Must be taken after "Meowr!"I'm not sure if that is stupid or not, I was thinking back on Simba trying to roar and stuff. >Don't You Disrespect Me, Little Man!+3 to Intimidate if the character has been offended
>>36089454Two in a row, man. Two in a row.
>>36089341>XIIyou had one job anon
>>36089341We honestly should probably refine Elsa and a few other lords a little better. Other then that I like the idea so far.
>>36089341>you had one job anonwell, it is the unlucky thread, so this was probably fate
>>36089488Well, we are making the whole system so you can probably run the thing irl when it's doneWe aren't making a quest or anything if that was the question
>>36089492noice, did you make these?I think it should be a rule that all traits are disney references.
>>36089488Well, once we get it sorted out, we'll probably make a free PDF.>>36089492>>36089497>>36089500>>36089529I posted before someone pointed out this should be XIII!
XP SYSTEM FROM LAST THREADthis shit is important, so somebody needs to 'bin it.Lessons are given for completing your Ideals, and for surviving battles (usually one at a time). Ideals can be spent to increase your abilities.Lessons can be spent in the following ways: A skill can be upgraded to a new level by spending a number of Lessons equal to the new level; I.E, to increase a skill to level 3, spend 3 lessons.Spend 5 lessons to get a new Trait.Spend 10 lessons to upgrade any attribute by one.For every 15 lessons you have earned, you gain one new Power of your choice.
>>36089537Yep. I also made these:">One Jump Ahead+2 to Athletics rolls when fleeing from authority or more than three pursuers>Trusssssssssst Me+2 bonus on diplomatic rolls if there target actively distrusts the speaker>All Will Be Well Milo Tatch +2 when trying to calm down or convince a frightened character>You Call THAT Fighting?+3 to combat rolls is the foes are using the same type of weapon or combat style"But somebody suggested twinking the bonuses a bit. So it'd be....>You Call THAT Fighting?+2 to combat rolls is the foes are using the same type of weapon or combat style"and>All Will Be Well Milo Tatch +3 when trying to calm down or convince a frightened character
>>36089365Yes, but no: during Character Generation the cost for buying a new skill is the same than the cost for raising a skil you already brought. This should stay the same during the game, or we are falling into the World of Darnkess trap: over specialization would be the most efficient way to spend points. It would encourage the players into making over specialized characters just to to save Lessons later. And that would be bad.
>>36089492I was thinking we could go for a trait that lets you declare someone a rival in battle. Like you get decent penalty due to paying a lot of attention to your rival but a nice bonus directly against him.Another idea is a kind of last standish trait where if you are on your final strike you can go superman for a number of rolls before becoming exhausted.
>>36089573No, bad Nob.You get one Lesson every time you fulfill one of your Ideals in a meaningful way, take a meaningful step towards one of your Goals or just get out of a dangerous situation.2 Lesson and you can raise a Skill, 4 Lessons and you can buy a Trait, 6 Lessons and you can raise an Attribute.Every 10 Lessons you learn you get a new Class Power for free.
>>36089609I honestly kind of like this one. Although it would have to be some really meaningful growth here.
>>36089578>This should stay the same during the game, or we are falling into the World of Darnkess trapFuck, I know what you mean.
>>36089492Onto the reviewing/balancing section, since people seem to have missed it last time.Record scratcher:No attacks of opportunity. How to rework?Brothers:Sure, sounds okay. But only if they're all melee/ranged rolls.Hakuna MatataSure, sounds good.I'll figure it out:Good neough.Meowr/RoarUh. Okay? Seems like a waste of 10 lessons for a +3 bonus, though.Don't you disrespect me;Good. Make it if you've taken a social Strike from that character or it's allies.>>36089574I've made my opinion clear on these; they're good, but the wording needs clarification.>>360896092 lesson for skill is probably okay, but it should be harder to raise higher skills.4 for traits is really just not that far off.6 for attributes makes me wonder if you realize how few attributes we have and how much each of them matters.10 lessons is, once again, awfully short for powers. That's probably one every two sessions, and powers are supposed to be a Big Deal.
I'll need to make next thread XIV, won't I.
>>36089707CarnosaurSize: Large to HugeNatural Weapons: Bite, ChargeRacial Traits:Lizard King: +2 to Persuasion of reptiliansTyrant's Roar - Can force an enemy to skip an action in place of the player attacking, perhaps? Kind of a support power, wouldn't work on bosses.Slicing Teeth: +2 to Strike unarmoured foesORBonecruncher: Ignores ArmourBull Charge: May charge into combatORGo the Distance: (Not sure, some sort of stamina thing.)
>>36089671>but it should be harder to raise higher skills.Absolutely not. We don't need this and it would actually make the game worse just by being there.>That's probably one every two sessions. No, you would probably get 3 Lessons for each session. At most. But we can go to 15, if that makes you feel better.>6 for attributes makes me wonder if you realize how few attributes we have and how much each of them matters.>and powers are supposed to be a Big Deal.I made the Attribute list and I introduced the idea of Class Powers. I know what I'm doing here.
>>36089609Yeah, I prefer Nob's one. Yours is good, but it makes the characters develop REALLY quickly.Although, let me add that getting a new skill should cost 2 lessons.
>>36089671Okay, let me see what I can do then.>Record Scratcher+5 on the first roll against any character that starts a musical number >BrothersYeah, that's what I mean. I was going to call it battle formation or something but that sounded better.>Meowr/Roar+6, then?I'm not sure what you mean about the wording. What is it, grammar issues?
>>36089743I prefer the non-exponential one: it was retard in WoD and it'd retarded here.
>>36089740I'll concede the skill thing. I'm not attached to it. Two lessons for a skill. But if you think that 6 lessons should increase an attribute, I really do need to question your judgement. Characters can and will cap out on their meaningful stats very quickly, and with the class bonus of 4d6 drop lowest on your meaningful stat, it'll be hard to design encounters.>>36089784It's a linear curve, not exponential, but I digress. Keep it at 2 then. One is too low.>>36089763+5 on first aggressive roll, sure. Do we mean in social situations too or just combat?Meow/roar+6 would certainly work, sure. What i mean by grammar issues: They need to specify what skill they give a bonus to.
>>36089743I can go up to 8 for the Attributes, but the cost for the Skills must stay the same. There's no narrative reason to make it increase with rank and it completely ruins Character Generation.
>>36089743the question is: do they fight Cherrybomb or not?make it so there's an option for those who want to play OP characters and those who prefer a longer campaign. There's no reason we can't just have two cakes instead of fighting about only one.
>>36089671>Diamond in the RoughWhen you perform a selfless or charitable act that requires some form of tangible sacrifice, you regain 2 Will points.
>>36089341We really need a paste bin dedicated to fluff, and then for some one to skim through the od threads and copy it down and
>>36089808At first I was thinking only combat, like stop the music with a punch to the face, but I think that interrupting the song with a SICK BURN would work wonders. Would probably give it a high chance to end up as a Strike so music needs to be carefully used
More suggested Traits:>Charge of the Light Brigade Character gets a +4 bonus to combat stats when doing something incredibly foolhardy and unlikely to succeed in combat. Note: trait only activates if it's still foolhardy and unlikely to succeed after figuring in the bonus. >AstrologerGain a +2 bonus to Occult if you have access to a telescope. >Tactical Genius (tentative name)By spending (2? 3? I'm not clear on Heart Point mechanics) Heart Points, the character can teleport any ally from anywhere in the world to anywhere on the battlefield. >Everybody Hold It! (Charisma)+4 bonus to halting a fight already in progress via diplomacy/shouting really loudly. Preventing it from starting up again is, unfortunately, another roll. >Rock and Roll will Never DieApply song- and dance-related bonuses or penalties to characters with Tin Ear at half effectiveness. (Probably better suited to a Power for song-based characters than a trait.)
>>36089851Yes you all do.
Don't forget to vote ta rchive the thread, guyshttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Disney+Villains+Victorious+
>>36089808You're overestimating the speed at which a character would gain Lessons: surviving a dangerous situation doesn't happen every session, and meaningful means meaningful. We would probably average around 2 Lessons per session, which is a good growing pace for a Disney character.>it'll be hard to design encounters. The villains are basically invincible and they have obscenely powerful minions at their back and call. How could you think designing hard enough encounters could be a problem?Anyway, 8 for an Attribute and a new Power each 15 Lessons is as far as I'm willingful to go.
>>36089863Charge of the light brigade: I like the concept, but I'm not sure how to work it mechanically without relying heavily on GM intervention.Astrologer:Sure. May want to increase the bonus to +3 -- telescopes are big and hard to carry around.TAKTICUL JINYUS:Seems good, but that should be a high level Strongman or Sage power rather than a trait.Hold it!:+3 to Negotiate when stopping a fight seems balanced.Rock and roll will never die:Agreed, best make that a Power because it's rather situational. >>36089901Fine. Here we go:Lessons are spent at different rates depending on the speed of the campaign. In a slow campaign (~20 or more sessions) lessons are spent as follows:2 to increase a skill, 5 for a new trait, 9-10 for an attribute, and every 15 grants you a power. In a fast campaign (<20 sessions), lessons are spent as follows:2 to increase a skill, 4 for a trait, 6 for an attribute, and every 10 grants you a new power.Sound good?
>>36089933>Rock and Roll will Never Die>Apply song- and dance-related bonuses or penalties to characters with Tin Ear at half effectiveness. (Probably better suited to a Power for song-based characters than a trait.)And it still doesn't work on Horned King. He just asks you to turn down that damn racket and starts complaining about kids these days.
>>36089951You don't get to respond to yourself.8 is too low for attribute increases. It's gotta be 9 at least.
>>36089341Guys, we kinda need to lay off the rules for a bit and instead gather all the fluff into one paste bin. That way we can start setting whats actually canon and whats not
>>36089933Ok, but let's do three speeds.Fast:2, 4, 6, every 10.Medium:2, 4, 8, every 15.Slow:3, 6, 9, every 20.Deal?Also: are we good on the rules about how Lessons are hearned?
>>36089983This.Somebody needs to start compiling.
>>36089933>In a slow campaign (~20 or more sessions) lessons are spent as follows:>2 to increase a skill, 5 for a new trait, 9-10 for an attribute, and every 15 grants you a power.>In a fast campaign (<20 sessions), lessons are spent as follows:>2 to increase a skill, 4 for a trait, 6 for an attribute, and every 10 grants you a new power. You know, have we sat down and talked about powers? Because depending on how much of a game changer they are, I'm actually okay with 'Fast' as the base...maybe bump it up to 12 or 14.
>>36089997I'd do it if I wasn't off to bed.
>>36089983This pretty dam importantAny volunteers for archiver?
>>36089995Actually I take it back. I like 2-4-8 and Power at 15.
>>36089995Looks good.Maybe drop skills to 2 at every level, even at Slow, even if it breaks the rule of three we've got going on here.>>36090008Well, we need to actually decide what the fuck skills are first.
>>36090030Powers, not skills. God, i'm tired.
>>36090030Perfect then.>Maybe drop skills to 2 at every level, even at Slow, even if it breaks the rule of three we've got going on here.Heresy! Also:>>36089978>You don't get to respond to yourself. You're already a namefag, don't be a paranoid namefag.
>>36089983As a '/vp/ makes a game' vet, I can assure that the quickest way to suck the fun out of a project like this is bureaucracy.Putting any sort of stamp on the fluff is gonna rob conversation and debate of a lot of their power (we already voted on this. Stay new etc.) and will cost us ideas.Let the fluff roll out while we work on the mechanics (which are, let's be honest, probably the bit most people are least interested in compared to the fluff). Once we have a solid base of rules etc. we can then begin nailing down the fluff and turning this into a real thing. In these early days, creativity is still King.
>>36090052Knight Guy made some powers for the 5 Basic Roles. Check the old thread to see if you can find them out.
>>36090109I still think its a good idea to start trying to compile the fluff into one place that makes it much easier to expand on
More Traits!>This Is No Time For Panic!+2 bonus when trying to resist Fear>Time for Panic. If the character has suffered two social Strike with at least one being fear-related, add +4 to any escape attempt rolls. Must Take "This Is No Time For Panic" before getting this trait.>>36090052Go to bed man, it's late in many placesWe'll keep the wizards out
>>36090127Which thread was that? I'm a West Coast rat, I've got plenty of juice left in me to hammer something out.
>>36090143Indeed we shall.
>>36090142Oh if we're just compiling ideas then go ahead. As long as we're not trying to consolidate them into one consistent narrative, that's fine.Trust me, Urobos suffered the moment people got hold of SurveyMonkey accounts and started deciding things. It was pre-emptive and chaotic. We can be much more sensible. I mean, our userbase is fa/tg/uys not /vp/oreons
>>36090157Where I live it's 5 AM. Man, I should really be asleep right now.Good night, everybody!
>>36090182Hello France, how are you?
>>36090198>>360901824:12 here in Prydain
>>36090178Thats what im suggesting: we organize the fluff into a easy to read format, and we can pick and choose which bits we like and talk it over later. I just don't want good ideas forgotten or have to sift through 20+ threads of fluff and rules
>>36090198Italy, but yeah, pretty good.
>>36089599>>36089868I think that it works especially well because, as an immortal, Frollo is by default the 'Last Pope'.
>>36090127http://pastebin.com/fj58NSYMHere.We need 3 powers for each class. I'm going to start working on that/beast traits. We also need fluff names for each of the roles. We have Strongman and Sage for robust/intelligent, at the moment.
>>36090225Hello Prydain-bro. This is usually the time I post new threads.
>>36090225rollin' a fat blunt
>>36089933Agree with you about the powers. You're certainly more familiar with the crunch than I am. Also, given how rules-light we're going, I figure that a bit of GM fiat isn't really a bad thing. More suggested traits:>Out of the sun+3/4 to attacking from stealth while airborne. >Better to Light a Candle+2 when fighting opponents that are injured by/adverse to sunlight.>Wait. Did He Just Steal My Wallet?+2 to sleight of hand rolls when stealing things. >Heels on Fire+3 to Nimbleness when the environment (building, forest, whatever) is on fire.
>>3609022510:15 in the Shadowlands. Still thinking of a way to pay off these last few lesser debts so I can take a boat across the lake to Virginia.
>>36090245DiplomatScholarAcrobat? Agility is tough
>>36090256Spreading that Cauldron fog, ah yeah
>>36090245Dude, go to bed. Wizards will get you if you are not well rested.
>>36090157Okay, got lucky and found them.No idea where this 'heart point' thing happened so I'm going to drop it.Okay, Powers are things that should make heroes Heroes. Something that tips the scale towards your side. Example:Resolve: It removes one strike from your entire party, or all three strikes from yourself. You can use this power ONCE per session.Frost: You've somehow gained a small fraction of Elsa's power. You can now cause any liquid to freeze by touching it. This power can be used multiple times.Call Upon The World Spirit: Call upon the Deer to help your tribe to run swiftly, or the Eagle so you can see, or the Mountain for strength. All members of your party get +2 to all attributes for a limited amount of time. This is also a Once Per Session power.Yodel: You've learned the tonal secrets of the Slim gang. You can charm animals on a successful music test.Light blast: Mama Odie has taught you a trick or two. You can summon up a ball of light, and blast it at enemies. These are just ideas.
>>36090383"heart point" is a way of saying Will point, of which every character gets three.
Welp, I dunno about ya'll, but I'm going to bed.Good luck to the brave souls who stay
Ah, we're making them class dependent. Okay. And thank you for the heart point clarification.I think Resolve should be one available to all three. We can nerf it to just 'heal a strike from you or a party member.' Strong GuyResolve: Heal a strike from yourself or another.Mighty Blow: An attack that would normally cause 1 strike, will cause 2.Mighty Swing: You can target two enemies with one attack.Smart GuyResolve: Heal a strike from yourself or anotherIt's Just Angles: Next 1d6 attacks auto-hitMind Palace: Perfect recollection and thought process allows an auto-success of 1 intelligence based test.Nimble GuyResolve: Heal a strike from yourself or anotherOne With The Wind: Next 1d6 attacks to this character auto-miss(All I could come up with. I had a Silent idea, but it's not great)Charismatic GuyResolve: Heal a strike from yourself or anotherBattle Cry: All PCs gain a +4 bonus to their next checkRally Cry: All PCs can ignore all emotional and mental attacks for the next 1d6 roundsSensible GuyResolve: Heal a strike from yourself or anotherForethought: Auto-succeed next sensibility testClarity: Auto-immunity to illusions for 1d6 roundsThis is just stuff I came up off the top of my head.
>>36090749The 'special' powers, like Elsa/Mama Odie/Whomever's magic, are something that should be earned in game, and defined by the GM. As they can vary from place to place, and even be location dependent. ('Borrowed' Shadow magic doesn't work as well, or at all, int he Fey lands as the Friends have little to no power there.)
>>36090749Should each class have a minimum qualification requirement? For instance, if you robustness is 6, you should not be able to select Strong Hero.
>>36090804I'd just assume that anyone who takes Strongman as a class won't leave robustness at it's minimum.
>>36090749Few problems:One; Auto hits are very, very problematic. Two: Sensible guys are already immune to illusions.Other than that, I like these. They're heavily combat focused, but we can work with them for now.
October and December best become even worse than normal Disney winters considering Oogie-Boogie is a thing.
Okay, that took way longer than I thought.Basic chart here, haven't filled in anything, don't think I left anyone out.
>>36090933One: Change them to +5 then, or the equivalent of 'Only fails on a crit fail' Two: Have it extend to the entire party then, and again, give it a very high bonus>>36090952Well, December is just a cold month, and I suppose some cultures still have a solstice festival, or the Pontifex orders a solemn ceremony. But joy and gift giving? No.No I'm afraid that there would have to be a group of extraordinary people, who would be brave enough to try and revive the Forgotten Saint. As for All Hallows Eve? The night when rumbling can be heard from Bald Mountain, and no child sleeps out of fear? That's a bad night indeed.
>>36091183I love it, and I hate to do this to you...but...there's talk about taking Judge Doom and DOOMtown off of the list.
>>36091226Simple enough of a fix.I'll start filling in boxes. Green for allied, red for hostile, yellow for neutral, feel free to throw out who goes where.
>>36091183I'm gonna get to work filling out what we do have so far. Think I'll add a grey column for Doom. A "Character in flux" box
>>36091320Okay, pure neutral across the lines for the Aurora Borealis, and the Firebird. They're more like natural disasters/forces than sentient beings. Certain powers would love to have them under their control, but they don't have a dislike for them.
>>36091320I think we said that Hans was hiding under Grimhilde's skirts. So, green for those two, and obviously red between him and Elsa. What's Hans' relation in regards with the Pontifex? Did we clarify that? Know him he's probably trying to play both sides and is slipping His Holiness information.
>>36091427>>36091388Filled in some definite ones. Would the Aurora Borealis and Firebird be more hostile to Alameda Slim, Radcliffe and Rourke, or still neutral?
>>36091488Guy who's also trying his hand at it, I put firebird hostile across the board. When it's awake it tries to eat everything.
>>36091427Hans probably pays lip service to the church in order to not have inquisitors after him.
>>36091488Slim, Radcliffe, Rourke, and Facilier all should probably be designated as red against the Aurora Borealis, now that I think of it. It does pretty much halt their progress. >>36091533You're Right. That's a good point. Do that.
>>36091533>>36091535Fair enough, Firebird plowed through nature too when it woke up.
>>36091320Queen Grimhilde hates Malificent because the Fey keep slipping across her borders. Poor relations with the Horned King for similar reasons, border skirmishes. The Horned King doesn't really into diplomacy, so neutral across the board for him- except for Hades, because he's envious. Beckett has good relations with Ursula, and "good" relations with everyone sane enough to engage in trade. Hates all the pirates. I think most of the Indian beast-kings hate each other. Jafar doesn't engage in diplomacy much, I don't think, so neutral across the board. The people of his realm, however, are mostly left to their own devices, and love to trade. I'd suggest that grey be neutral, and yellow be distasteful cooperation or something like that. Facilier, for example, is largely disliked, but everyone will at least hear him out (except for Slim, Radcliffe, and Rourke).
>>36091579Should we add characters like Wendy and Christopher Robin and Gothel, who are technically important to some extent but aren't actually in charge of anything?
>>36091630Probably. Ratigan, too, who I don't see anywhere on there. He's a big power broker.
>>36091579Wouldn't Governor Radcliffe have a partnership with Frollo since he's instigating a missionary endeavor to convert the "savages" and "heathens"?
>>36091579Ratigan's empire is in both the old world and the new, and he sells information and such to everyone. So he's got green across the board, with the exceptions of Mor'du (red, he tries to eat his agents), Chernabog (neutral, no contact), Elsa (Neutral, no contact), the Carnotauri (Red, lunch), Bagheera is red because Bagheera's noble...but there's probably been times when he's had to rely on intel from the Rats to save his subjects, shishigami (yellow, they want nothing to do with him), A.B. (yellow, no contact), and the Firebird (red, destruction). Everyone else is green.
>>36090310Ten thirty here in the Spirit Lands.
>>36091696>Protestant Anglican>Allying with a CatholicOkay, yeah, maybe. but my autism button was pushed. Kind of like Disturbing the Dirt there. >Disturbing the DirtSpeaking of which is that a rule for something? Like a PC has a trait which directly interferes or contradicts with another party member's traits and stats?Did I just make something useful?
>>36091623>>36091696>>36091702I'll use those, good suggestions too.>>36091630I may have to add them at some point, let's focus on this set for now.Still adding things, hang on a bit.
>>36091320I feel Chernabog should be Neutral to everyone. The fire bird should probably get his own color because he could flip between any. The horned king and Mor'du should be hostile.Frollo I would think would be pretty hostile to Maleficent given how close they are. While Rourke in general should be hostile to everyone.
Animals that still need to be done:Small: Cats, Dogs, Monkeys (small) Medium: Wolves, Big Cats, Monkeys, CrocsLarge: Horse, Bear, Cow, Buffalo, CrocI'm missing a LOT; tell me what I need to be working on. I'm gonna get Big Cats, Wolves, and Monkeys (Medium) done first, followed by Bears, Small cats, and horses.>>36091805Anglicans and catholics have gotten along to ruin the shit of savages before. It's a cooperative game, but we'll throw it into the 'bin for villain games in an expansion
>>36091813Not official or anything, but I took a crack at it. Distrustful's a good category, I should've used that.I added trade partners to signify pairs that are happy to trade goods but won't actually aid each other in warKind of silly to do alongside the official verson, but it might be a good conversation starter for some of the less talked about leaders. Like Queen La, for example
Hey, does anyone want to help me make a couple of fixes on the map? Specifically, since the line dodad was a big hit, I need someone to finish filling in Maleficent's lands in spain and to fix up india so that Bagheera's contesting land with Kaa and Sher Khan. After 3 image processing programs and 2 exhausting hours I am done trying to do it myself.
>>36091488Facilier and Hades I imagine would be allied. Just because Hades has tons of souls and they could get a good partnership going on.
>>36091881..well then, works for me.
>>36091881One fix: firebird is an ally of the Aurora Borealis.
>>36091813I think Ratigan would be distrustful across the board. Everyone wants his services, but he spies on everyone, so everyone would be pating him for information while simultaneously trying to kill all the rats in their kingdom. >>36091881>Shinigami>Trade partners with anyoneAlso, Malificent wouldn't be trading with anyone because Fey be crazy.
>>36091813I"m honestly not sure about Elsa to be honest thinking on it. She might hate some of the villains or she might be so despair mode that not even seeing them up in person makes her move.
>>36091901Start by axing DOOMtown
I made >>36091881 mostly as a side project to the community one and also as a possible reference to those little out of the way relations that nobody's talked about. The talk about relations was a good thing and I wouldn't want to stop that
>>36091859Speaking of Frollo, does /tg/ have an idea of what his powers are? In the Hunchback book he's an alchemist of considerable skill and renown, and in a world where magic is a real thing that can be nuts.
>>36091881Further nitpicks: Frollo wouldn't be hostile towards Shan Yu because they have no contact. Maybe a grey 'no contact' color?
>>36091962Was there a consensus on no Doomtown? I must have missed that
>>36091992He became a lich in one iteration. It's not required, but the writefag made it sound very interesting.
>>36091943Are there any definite allies to Ratigan, or does everybody distrust him?>>36091951Might be best to keep her in sort of a dazed isolation, unaware of most everyone.>>36092002Frollo would still hate a godless heathen like Shan Yu, even if they've never met.
>>36091943Well, if we're going that route then nearly the whole damn board would be distrustful.
>>36091992We know at the very least he is undead so really hard to kill. My first thought would be something like fire based powers. Or just in general having a absurd phylactory with most of his powers being based around his inquisition.
>>36091901I would, but my skills are lackingCan't you just open it on paint, get a very thin brush/spray and do it manually?
>>36091881Well >>36092030 has most of the board neutral, so it might be good to separate the people who are cold warring versus the people who are just sort of getting along
>>36092017>Might be best to keep her in sort of a dazed isolation, unaware of most everyone.I kind of get the feeling if a villain entered her domain and she knew about them she would do something. But she is too busy in despair to care to look anymore. So dazed isolation would work pretty well.
Maybe there is a sort of witches cabal between Grimhilde, Yzma and Ursula?Continue discussing relations, I have to do something for about half an hour.
>>36091881La's relationship with Roarke should be complicated, since she's technically connected to Atlantis.
>>36091901I kind of like that not all of Frollo's lands are also fae, while Frollo claims all of Maleficent's land. It really drives home the point that she doesn't really care about the day to day ruling of what she claims; to the point that she doesn't even care that Frollo also wants it.He can't stop her from doing what she wants, so what does it matter to her if he pretends to be in charge?
>>36092054That was one thing I tried, but trying to get the damned lines straight across the entirety of India damn near drove me mad.
>>36092118Have you tried the magic select tool in GIMP you should be able to shift+click the territories you want, drag one big line (which only shows up in the territories you want) and then just copy+paste that line for identical angles.
I think Frollo's thing should be that he became a lich because he was cursed by veangeful gypsies (it's a thing) and that's why he became a lich. Gypsies have some weird magic, don't they? Well, he needs something to dealnwith both them and maleficent. Fire works wonders for both, so how about his Inquisition always carries flasks of a greek-fire like substance? You know, burn anywhere, anytime, for a long time. Doesn't go out normally."Holy Fire" or something. Might be potent and volatile enough that most anything would think twice before messing with the Inquisition when they can smite you with ever-burning "holy" flame. Also makes for a nice irony. Ever burning fire.....Being called holy. Frollo's really gone mad.
>>36092118Damn I forgot that my phone doesn't save the name
>>36092014Lich? Does anyone have a shot or link to that story? One of the big things I loved about Frollo was that he was an insane man. Also, if ANYONE in here has read the book, there is so much good shit for a villain's powers. His skill of alchemy and knowledge of "magic", theology. The motherfucker adopted Quasimodo by his own choice in the book and invented sign language just so they could have a secret code.Picture that as an army.
>>36092090Really now? I'd do something with that if I knew anything at all about Queen La.Anybody know anything about Queen La?
So, I was thinking of doing some writefaggotry, but I have a question about Jafar... specifically, his wishes. The story is that Aladdin was actually foolish enough to give him the lamp at the Cave of Wonders, right, and Jafar took it and left him to die?So what did Jafar wish for?Did it follow the basic structure of the first movie, where he wished first to be Sultan and then to be the most powerful sorcerer in the world?Did he go all the way towards wishing to be a genie, with a caveat of freedom?
>>36092153Yep, GIMP doesn't have a line tool though
>>36092175Frollo's been a lich since the very beginning, people are just applying their own ideas of how thay came to be by now. Many say Chernabog had something to do with it.But mostly, Frollo the Lich just sounded cool as hell so we ran with it
>>36092082I'd bet by the time this all take place, she'd have expanded her ice castle extraordinarily. It now covers several square miles, crystalline spires jutting from the mountain peaks and fortifications, kept in balance by impossibly long flying butresses.Anything to keep other people out. Some Arendellians have tried to kill her before, multiple times in hopes that it would end the perpetual winter. Elsa has gotten smarter and just fucking created a maze of rock-solid ice covering the entire snowy expanse, guarded by numerous snow golems as well as the frozen body of her sister brought to "life".Do you brave heros dare plumb her depths?
>>36092199Nah, he didn't even think of genie until Aladdin pointed out that Genies are stronger than sorcerers. He's not stupid, he's probably got the lamp squirreled away for an emergency.
>>36092159Could also go for a curse from Chenabog designed to drive him crazy by making him think it was Gypsies. My other main thought was that maybe the Inquisition he builds has some kind of anti-magic going on.
>>36092199I assume the last wish was immortality, Jafar is a practical man.
>>36092229Yes. I don't even know if you're talking about Elsa or the ice sister, but yes.
>>36092199I think that the general consensus is that instead of sending Alladin away when he did in the movie, he just zapped him out of existance. Either that or Alladin just never came back.Point is, his two wishes stayed the same. Sultan, World's most poweful sorcerer
>>36092199His final wish was making Iago talk back to him less. He's never looked back.
>>36092247Does he need to waste a wish on immortality?Surely sorcery could provide limitless longevity... wouldn't it be better to keep that final wish hidden away, as a sort of magical Samson Option?I love that Jafar has the largest contiguous empire on Earth - he was always my favorite.
>>36092266>whynotboth.jpegBut yes, I was talking about Elsa.
Okay, so until I get the line wossname sorted out, I'm going to keep using the old blotchy map, because it's easier to edit. The final map will have the contested province line things.Or if there are any real mapmakers, you could make us a nice pretty oneChanges>DOOMtown is doom
>>36092429Christ, y'all sure don't make this easy with the constant map changes.relax i love you all
>>36092175A drawfag drew him as the bone-pope back in the first thread, and it's been a staple of the project since then
>>36092453Welcome to my life
>>36092011I'm in favor of it existing>>36092429don't kill Doomtown, otherwise there really isn't anything of note on the west coast, and that feels wasteful
>>36092180Sorceress, hedonistic and self-indulgent, her home of Opar is a former Atlantic colony that she restored with her magic and assumed control of. Spends her days idling away and being served by an army of leopards she bestowed sentience on, comes into conflict with Tarzan because she wants a mate to relieve her boredom. She's probably average, magic-wise, though if she's killed she can possess people as a wandering spirit.
>>36092508I still like the idea of doomroads, because they make for a quick and interesting way for pcs to travel. I may put up a poll for Doomtown tomorrow, if there is enough support for it.
>>36092508Yeah, but, we haven't done anything with DOOMtown either. The only interesting suggestion I heard were the DOOMroads.>>36092520Is she actually an Atlantean native or does she just live in one of their colonies? Either way, I can totally see Rourke wanting to take over her territory because 'muh rightful clay' and 'muh Manifest Destiny' and all that. Well, more so than he wants to take over everywhere else. It'll be even worse if she has actual Atlantean tech. Rourke would be desperate to maintain his monopoly.
>>36092508>don't kill Doomtown, otherwise there really isn't anything of note on the west coast, and that feels wastefulThe setting is too out of place. Deciding what the Dip would affect or not affect alone would be nightmarish. If you really want something there, I'm sure plenty of Disney licenses are set in Los Angeles.Cats Don't Dance comes to mind.
I'm confused, what's going onI just got hereSo lost
>>36092613Did you not read the OP?We're not going to spoonfeed you. Ask something specific or nothing at all.
I did a little looking. She's brown skinned with white hair and blue eyes; nothing was ever said officially but that sounds like she's got Atlantean blood in her to me.
>>36092631I am, just wanna get something straightThere's an RPG being made here right? One where the disney villians actually succeeded in their plots
Pretty easy to justify how a lot of the villains achieved immortality or extended lifespans, but what about people like Radcliffe? This setting would ideally take place in the 1920s.>>36092663Yes. Not sure how that wasn't made perfectly clear in the OP.
>>36092696Well he is a valued trade partner of President Lyle"We've got immortality crystals" Rourke
>>36092696It was I'm just a moron.
>>36092663Yeah, we're making a system for it. It's slow going, but it's going. >>36092716I think Radcliffe died long before Atlantis was a thing, unless we're disregarding any idea of a coherent timeline. He could just be Radcliffe IV or whatever.
>>36092742>He could just be Radcliffe IV or whatever.I guess that's for the best.
Okay, I'm back. Not much of an update yet, I'll probably cannibalize the other guy's list once we've clarified as much as we want.
>>36092696I think that some people have mentioned that Mother Gothel from Tangled might be supplying some of the mortal villains with her elixir of youth. The other explanation is that we've kinda been avoiding the issue of having an exact date set, and have been cheating by compressing times and places together to make it all work.
>>36092611obviously Dip only effects beings from another dimension known as Toons lethally, although considering it's chemical makeup, Dip would be unpleasant to be exposed to for anyone>>36092696I still like the idea that when Chernobog took over(by somehow removing God's connection to the world) he broke the Space-Time Continuum thus leading to the world's current condition
>>36092591Is there some way that we can keep the DOOMroads? I actually somewhat agree that doomtown was underdeveloped and opened up a whole can of worms with the toons, but goddamn if I just don't think that the DOOMroads had a lot of potential. Also Judge Doom is a great villain
>>36092788You can probably tag Rourke as hostile to the European monarchs with the exception of Elsa. All the major ones he's been described as sending Atlantean special forces to sabotage. He should also be keeping friendly relations with the purely human leaders (so Slim and Ratcliffe). I'm still mulling over what I want to write about Queen La, so I'll get back to you on that.
>>36092818Maybe something with the Cheshire Cat, since he's the only willing link to Wonderland right now. He can open up a shortcut if someone wants to try their luck, though they'll be heckled by Wonderland creatures adapted to wherever realm they're going to/coming from.
>>36092835Ooh, I like that idea too. Plus, it gives wonderland a spotlight
haven't read through this thread, just a reminder, Vader, Palpatine, and the rest of the Star Wars antagonist are officially Disney villains now too, and arguably, the most successful ones.
>>36092833I'd imagine he trades with everyone open to it at the same time he's sabotaging them. The industries of Atlantis are hungry, after all.
>>36092867Sci-Fi Disney property is being saved for a splat
>>36092835>Oh, not to worry! You'll be in and out as quick as a wink!>Of course, winks can last a good, long time...
>>36092871Most people, sure, but the likes of Maleficent and Cherno Alpha won't have much to offer. Not that Rourke is dumb enough to send special forces to Bald Mountain, that's suicide for the men you send and just asking for all kinds of attention you don't want.
>>36092888and we should still avoid any Star Wars or Marvel stuff(besides Big Hero 6 that is) when we get to that expansion(which makes at least two expansions lined up, one for the more modern and futuristic stuff not already covered, and one for the non-Disney stuff besides El Dorado, although we could do a third one to cover the Toon home universe[cause you have to admit going to another reality to recruit Darkwing Duck and Scrooge's help would make for a kickass adventure])
>>36092888>>36092966If you're saving stuff for "sci-fi" and "modern" there are probably a few movies that you can take off the list already - Big Hero and Atlantis being two of them, very sci-fi/modern.
>>36092909I could actually see this as a game here. The PCs being elites sent into Bald Mountain for some reason and having to try to keep their heads down long enough.
>>36092989Eh... Atlantis may be modern but it's waaay to magical for sci-fi. I also think that the Huntsman club is technically the highest tech level, since mcleah has his halftrack, and Charles muntz has his airship
>>36092989Big Hero is gone.Atlantis is set in 1914. Just because there's stupid magitek doesn't mean that it's not set before Princess And The Frog.
>>36093005"I'm glad you all agreed to at least hear my proposal out. I need a team to get me intel on Bald Mountain and I want you to be it."..."Yes, yes, I know what the place is like. My teams probably wrote half of the reports you're remembering. But you're all well known for pulling off the impossible, and I don't want you to go to the mountain itself, just... Reasonably close. Get in there, get the lay of the land and find out what's happening and then come back."..."Great, I knew you'd be interested. I've got a deal cut with Hades right now, hes a bastard but he wants to know what's going on as much as I do. You'll be inserted into Crimea via the Bosphorus, with a stop in Constantinople for supplies you can use without giving yourself away. When you're done return to the landing site, if you can't get there then find your way back to Greece and present the tokens we'll provide you to any of Hades' regional leaders and they'll see you back to me."..."Why do I trust Hades? Because I'm in a unique position to give him something he wants badly, and unless he wants me to make sure he never gets that opportunity again he won't shaft me... us."..."Pay? Well I'm going to assume you aren't interested in dollars, but that's on the table in case you want to make things easy. How about this, you make this work for me and that little army you're raising will have rifles, machine guns, grenades, airships and artillery by the end of the month. It'll give you a real edge on anything out there but the cauldron born. Still takes explosives to put those down."..."I knew you'd warm up to the idea! I think that this new partnership will be enriching for all of us."
>>36092989by Modern the current definition for this thread generally seems to be post WW2 levels of tech and culture(with a possible exception for Doomtown if we keep it in Core, and not move it to an expansion)
>>36093396Don't you mean pre-WW2?
>>36093153I wonder how we can make players not use meta-knowledge of villains. In this setting, they probably wouldn't know that an individual ruler is untrustworthy even though they've seen the movies and have seen that they are.How do we encourage forming temporary alliances of convenience in order to tackle greater threats?
Hey everybody, I think I cracked the secret of the stripe pattern for territories!Unofficial Changes>India's got occupation lines>Monkeys and the EITC fighting in Southeast Asia>Upper Shadowland-West border made fuzzier, hard to tell where one ends and the other begins, up north.>Added stripes to Elsa's domain, places Grimhilde or Cherborga claim to rule but are too damn cold to actually do anything with. Yes, I think it can be too damn cold for Cheeky Breeky.
>>36093567Malificent's green looks greenish-yellow, so you might want to mess around with the hues up there.
>>36093583I want the Dread Cartographer to have a look at it before I change anything else.>Captcha: arrowd DIOCESEWell, now we know where Robin Hood is these days
>>36093567Tell me your secret, Archie. I wanna be like you
>>36093664I used GIMP, highlighted the territories I want, then I used the thin line brush with a rotation of 45 degrees and a size of 100. It does taper off at the end so you have to stagger them a little bit for very long lines.
Alright, here's the completed chart to the best of my knowledge. Do we want to add anyone to it?
>>36093691Forgot to mention: Pencil tool will have hard edges and the brush tool will soften them.
>>36093441no cause Atlantis, Princess & The Frog, Tarzan, and several other movies take place during the 20th century but prior to WW2 so that makes a good cutoff date
>>36093697I can't speak for all the combinations but every one I know the status of looks about right. Mind if I put up an edit once I figure out what I'm going to do with Queen La and President Rourke?
>>36093691Perfect, now I know, and knowing is half the battleI was just going to go to bed, though but if you want to make these changes I'll sanction the map. If not, I'll do it tomorrow>Maleficent contests northern Spain>Bagheera contests more of Kaa's territory: India's a 3 way clusterfuck>No contested territory between bald mountain and arendelle. Chumbo-bumble does not contest territory. Divide it up as you will
>>36093774No can do. I've gotta get some shut I before classes tomorrow. Paying way too much tuition to be sleeping while I should be in class.
>>36093766If you want, though I'll be up for another few hours, so let me know if you decide soon.
>>36093774I think it's marvelous. You still need to remove Doom's bit from the legend, though. But India's a clusterfuck, Japan's a clusterfuck. So many wonderful places ripe for adventures.Provided that I can get a group together, I'm going to try and record our session, so I can post it.I'm probably going to run the Headless Horseman hook.Off to crunch some mobs!
>>36093810I'd be down if it's on IRC or roll20 or something. I'd love to see the actual mechanics in motion.
By the way, did those Rourke trolls Ursula greentexts get saved anywhere or do I need to go Archive trawling for them? I thought they were pretty damn funny.
>>36093810That sounds like it would be fun as fuck.Do we have enough crunch to get a game going?
>>36093918Not really. Well, you could get a game going, but it'd be at Zero tier and would rely heavily on player ingenuity.
>>36091488Also, Elsa's just hostile across the board. She can't get into the other countries, but if she could, Walt help them.
>>36093958Aren't those the best kinds of games though?>>36093960Elsa may be extremely powerful, but she's not really evil. Just crippled with despair and loneliness. She likely doesn't care about anyone as long as they don't bother her.If the players ever tried to encounter her, she'd need to be defeated via social rolls only. Anything else would be suicidal.
>>36093960Actually, as written there's nothing physical stopping her. If she got it into her mind to fuck up somebody else's kingdom she could just become a walking blizzard. The thing is that she's actually not hostile, she mostly just wanders around what's left of Arendelle and her ice castle, crying bitter, instantly freezing tears.
>>36093810Well, I need to plot out a bit more.Basic Plot: PCs are hiding/living in Sleepy Hollow, an unimportant farming town in Virginia. However, people in the town are starting to be attacked by the Headless Horseman. If the PCs don't help, then Radcliffe will march in his army, or worse, bring in an Atlantean Strike Team. If that isn't incentive enough, the citizenry is willing to pay to end the attacks, before the army comes in and wrecks the town on their own.Finale: Big fight with the Horseman.Complications: 1) The Horseman was summoned by a Fae who's here to cause trouble. Capturing her is necessary to discover the secret on how to beat the Horseman. (He has to be defeated in, or over, running water, or he'll just revive the next night)2) There's a missionary from the Holy Lands, trying to covert people. If he isn't dealt with, he may cry out that Sleepy Hollow needs to purge itself of the wicked to rid it of the devil that rides. That means fires.3) Some raiders from the Shadowlands are here looking for stuff to help clear their debts. They've been hiding in the forest, but they see the attacks as a good time to get their hands on some things. After all, Sleepy Hollow will blame it on the Horseman. So, I have to make stats for Sleepy Hollow and it's people, the Missionary, the Raiders, the Fae, and the Horseman.
>>36094008For a 1st level adventure, that sounds pretty damn solid.Maybe we should think of other low-level adventures just so that people aren't hung up on high-end play.
>>36094040>Maybe we should think of other low-level adventures just so that people aren't hung up on high-end play.I wrote up a long list of hooks. http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/36070014/Post 36071881
Hasn't been much talk of friendly NPCs overall. A lot of them are captured, killed or rendered useless by villains, but what about the ones that aren't?NPCs like Merlin, the Fairy Godmother or Jiminy Cricket could be useful here and there, but not sure how often they'd be able to help.Ones like J. Thaddeus Toad or Fagin (Oliver and Co.), would be more likely to follow their own paths, but could be useful to the PCs if they tried. Also, we know Hades can dredge just about anyone up from the river Styx, how many offers does he field for returning heroes to life, even if only to annoy his rivals?
>>36094341Mike Wizowski from Monsters Inc. is slated as a friendly NPC.Really, if you want to make friends with other heroes, you're not entirely likely to find them from the older stories. They'll commonly be exclusive to the game you're playing.
>>36094341>Also, we know Hades can dredge just about anyone up from the river Styx, how many offers does he field for returning heroes to life, even if only to annoy his rivals? From the source material, you apparently need the body to be intact for one. That's not even the most difficult part. Hades has no real reason to bring anyone back from the dead. He only let Hercules even make the attempt because he knew Hercules would never survive. The only thing he didn't count on was him achieving godhood at that moment. One would think it messes with the natural order to just willy-nilly resurrect people. Hades may be an asshole, but he's just doing his job.
>>36094008For ambiance:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysNSKrH8hHoOkay, so notable people in Sleepy Hollow:Brom Bones: Mayor, bit of a braggart and a bully, but he runs the town fairly. Taxes are reasonable, laws are fair, and he kisses the Governor's ass so others don't have to. However, he's not one who's going to stick his neck out for any one person. If it keep Sleepy Hollow safe, he'll hang a person out to dry. Katarina Von Trapp: Fiancee of the Mayor. She's a very sweet woman who took over as schoolmistress after Mr. Crane disappeared and flowered in the role. She's quite good at being Brom's conscience. However, she's a bit too intelligent and out-spoken for a woman, in some people's opinion.Mr. Graves: ('And some don't even wear their skin' guy) Sleepy Hollow's physician. A man who is a skilled healer, but has a very morbid sense of humor. He's also knowledgable in long forgotten things. Things about shadows, magic, and all the other things that make people nervous.Nakoma: She's a native 'reformed' savage. She lives in a little house at the edge of town. Most residents 'like' her, in the 'she's one of the good ones' kind of way. She's been a great help with the planting and harvests, keeps to herself, and doesn't bother people. She knows the woods better than anyone, amazing tracker. However, she's still a 'savage' to some, and if things get bad enough, there are fires in her future.Copper: An old, sad, basset hound. He lives under the stairs of the school house. His loyalty to Katarina and Nakoma is unshakable. He'd face a mob for them. He's seen a lot, and knows many secrets about the woods and knows that their are good critters out there. If the PCs can Talk to Animals, he's invaluable. However, one dog against an angry mob isn't a fight at all.
>>36092465Very slight nit-pick: Lich Frollo was not an idea from the First Thread. Not that it matters, since it's a popular idea. I just know it wasn't, because I was the writefag in the first thread, and I watched that thread until it died, and was startled to see the project's gotten to 13 threads now.I want to congratulate everyone involved in the project for their work, just skiiming over this thread and the 1d4chan page, you've all done a lot in 6 days. I have some friends coming into town this weekend, and I may try to put a game of this together.>>36094419>>36094341And alternate idea is with Hades' ascension to Olympus, his hold over the Underworld has slackened, or there was a brief outbreak during his assault on Olympus."Historically", about 5 people have gone into Hades and returned. Hercules, Orpheus, Sisyphus, Aeneas, and Theseus (Though he had to be rescued by Hercules) all completely enter the underworld, then return. Several others have come to the edge of Hades, and summoned spirits to commune with them, Odysseus most famously. With the magics available to some of the factions here, it wouldn't be impossible to summon a spirit to commune with it, and then entrap it, and 'spirit' it back to the surface world. Also, you can explore the whole "Shades of Grey/Black" game, assuming all the relevant entities haven't been eliminated. If we haven't already established their deaths, for instance, Abis Mal and Mozenrath could serve as Friendly NPCs in Jafar's Kingdom, as could Chaos, Mirage, Aziz, even Ron Perlman's Arbutus could serve as an enemy of the Sorceror Supreme Jafar. And the enemy of my enemy is my friend. For now.
>>36094419well if we take expanded material into this, during an episode of the Hercules TV cartoon that crossed over with Aladdin(set post King of Thieves on the Aladdin side), Hades resurrects Jafar for a team-up, so bringing someone back to life probably isn't that hard for him if he has a good reason
>>36093697I don't understand some of the relationships on this chart: why is Alabama slim hostile to Mor'du? What about Facilier and Frollo? Or Chernabog and Davey Jones? There's a lot of stuff here I don't get.
>>36094565Enemies:The Headless Horseman: He rides a Nightmare, an wields a Messer. He is the reborn spirit of a mercenary from the Holy Lands that came here to kill savages, and fell to dark sorcery. He rides in search of a replacement head, as it believes that will cause his spirit to rest. Virginian, savage, or heathen, it does not matter. He lives to ride, to hunt, and chop.Bittercress: A Fae, who is actually using Sleepy Hollow for the same reason most people do, as a place to disappear. She escaped from the Homelands after a little misunderstanding. She's been living in the woods around the quiet town for a while, quite happily. However, she's a Fae at heart, and she thought it would be a really funny joke to revive the Horseman, cause a little panic, and make things less boring. She doesn't especially want anyone to die...that would be sad. Also, there's the little fact that she doesn't have as much control over the Horseman that she thought she would have...that is to say 'any.' Father Benedictus: A missionary from the Holy Lands. Here to spread the Good Word, and to keep this blessed town Pure. He's just traveling through, as Sleepy Hollow was too quiet for his tastes, and the citizenry seemed uninterested in the Holy Word. However, in this time of danger, the lost lambs can be returned to the flock. The DuCrois Brothers: Three Debtors from the Shadowlands. Brothers in crime, and up to their necks in ink. They've been doing a little highway robbery here, and some B&E there. They hide out in the woods of Sleepy Hollow because it's the middle of nowhere and no one would look for them. Normally they don't attack the town, it would bring notice. However, with things so chaotic thanks to the Horseman...the pickings are easy, and they have SO much debt they have to repay.
>>36094697Mor'du is hostile to just about everyone, not sure if Alameda's singing can get through to him or not, hasn't been debated.Frollo hates all kinds of magic other than his own, sees them as various types of witchcraft.Chernabog wants to reap all souls, eventually, and Davy Jones is opposed to that as it would deprive him of a crew.A lot of it's just conjecture so fare.
>>36094697Not the guy who made they chart, but my guesses, based solely off of knowing the Characters:Alabama Slim v Mor'du: One's a "Cowboy", hunter, and greedy son of a bitch. The other is a Bear, who used to be a greedy son of a bitch. If they met, they would totally fight.Facilier vs Frollo: Are you kidding? Can you not see how a heavily Catholic Inspired Inquisition would hate A Voodoo Shadowman? Facilier is the literal definition of a Witch to Frollo.Chernabog vs Davey Jones: Davey Jones runs an immortal crew of sinful souls, with his heart pledged to a Goddess of the Sea. Chernabog is the Lord of Night, The Hungry Shadow. ALL evil souls are his, Goddamnit. Your immortal bullshit displeases the Father of Monsters.

>>36094707Father Benedictus can be forced, or tricked out of the village. Kindness fails upon him. He can even be tricked into facing the Horseman alone, and the Horseman will take care of him.Bittercress can be forced to talk, or be swayed with Kindness and Song. She's a Fae, so don't try to be clever with her. She'd be happy to help, as long as she can stay in Sleepy Hollow's woods, which isn't the best idea...unless pacts can be made so she doesn't cause trouble. The DuCrois Brothers can be forced to leave, tricked to leave, or be swayed by Kindness and Song. However, force is not recommended, as a trio, they're slightly more than 1st level PCs can handle. If you can separate them, so much the better. If you can convert them, they'll stand with you when you fight the Horseman in the finale. The Horseman has to be fought. Probably multiple times. The first time he goes down VERY easy. Then he revives. When you fight him in or over rushing water, he unleashes his full power. The end result can have Sleepy Hollow remain a quiet town for the lost and the afraid. A hardened, unfriendly, town that's just as bad as Radcliffe. (The Capital city, named after it's founder.) Or, it could become a true Haven, a place of peace, where a friendly sprite, and a trio of bumbling, but good natured, crooks, who rob from the rich and give to Sleepy Hollow dwell.
>>36094565>>36094707>>36094778I like the setup, very open-ended but with a good mixing of factions involved.
>>36094793I need to work out a timeline of events, when Horseman attacks happen, when DuCrois attacks happen, and at what point does Benedictus start pushing for a purge and when that purge starts. Also, I need to stat everyone.Help would be welcome.
>>36094824I haven't been paying close attention to the stat system, but I guess I can help with the timeline. It should be a bit fluid too, depending on PC actions.First encounter with the Horseman should be just before the PCs first visit the village. This can be anything from a single sighting to a fight. If Benedictus gets wind of their encounter, he starts formulating his purge earlier, the more reports of the Horseman, the faster his timetable moves. The first encounter with the DuCrois Brothers should happen after at least one encounter with the Horseman, so the PCs will be more likely to be duped into thinking it's another Horseman sighting.Bittercress will likely be watching the PCs from their first encounter onward to see how they handle themselves against the Horseman. If the PCs seem strong or clever enough, she may make first contact in trying to trick them into solving her control problem. If not, the PCs can probably pick up a hint of restless spirits from Nakoma and come looking for Bitecress to gain an edge. The covered bridge would be the most likely place for a showdown with the Horseman, perhaps a ritual learned from Katrina can help call the Horseman out on the PCs' terms, though asking how to bring the Horseman forth will definitely arouse Benedictus' suspicions, most likely making him an enemy of the PCs.
>>36094824Okay timeline:1)Intro, PCs meet Sleepy Hollow's people2)1st Horseman attack3) Benedictus starts to preach4) 2nd Horseman attack5) 1st DuCrois attack6) Benedictus gets a mob7) 2nd DuCrois attack8) Benedictus has a bonfire prayer meeting that turns into a riot.9) 3rd Horseman attack and 3rd DuCrois attack happens at the same time10) Benedictus calls for Nakoma's exile, Nakoma goes to hide in the woods11) 4th DuCrois attack12) Benedictus leads a mob to hunt down Nakoma so that she can be purified by the flames.13) 4th Headsman attack14) The DuCrois brothers escape Sleepy Hollow15) Benedictus calls for Mr. Graves to be fed to the flames.16) 5th Headsman attack, Katarina will die in this attack if not stopped.17) The Virginian Army arrives, and Sleepy Hollow is burnt to the ground. The PCs have to flee for their lives.

>>36095014Welp, the Firebird has snuffed me out. I'll work on stats tomorrow.
>>36095041You've done good. Hopefully the morning crew kicks in before we all pass out.
Well, slight adjustments, this'll be my last post for the night.Good luck.
don't let this idea die
Good morning everyone, or anyone still awake. I've got to read through the thread, but hopefully things will pick back up before too long.
>>36091992I remember him being an alchemist, so I would like to keep that. Especially now that he's also a lich.

This is awesome. I know what's going to keep me awake now!
>>36094580Can I ask a question? How should Elsa be treated in this universe? An un - redeemable force of nature? Potentially powerful, albeit depressed person? Can't wait to hear you thoughts.
Alright, there's a whole lot of work that's been done since I'd gone off to sleep and it's a bit intimidating to jump right back into things when there doesn't seem to be other posters on at the moment to provide continuity, but I'll see what I can do and what I can contribute. The Sleepy Hollow adventure is something I really like. It's a dire matter but not a globe or even a region spanning conflict and is inspired by one of the lesser Disney properties, allowing players to get their feet wet with the idea of DVV before jumping into the maelstrom. One question that I have that I am not sure was answered or not: would there be restrictions, at this early stage, of what characters the players would be playing? Would they necessarily be townsfolk? Would they necessarily be from the American lands? Or, could they be any from any nation that could reasonably have globe-trotted over to Sleepy Hollow?
>>36095697Elsa would definitely be an interesting case. On the one hand she's not really inherently evil or malicious. On the other hand she has immense power but very little control due to her pent up emotions, depression, and personal issues. I think there's just as much potential for Elsa to be redeemed as there is for her to be corrupted.
>>36095755Cool. Also how would Frollo affect his hermit kingdom? Would he do it with a sort of secret police, snatching up unruly priests? Or would he do it on public?
>>36095775Thanks for providing us with a good amount on fluff, too.
>>36095160One tiny change, Scar and Sher Khan are sort of bros. They don't openly work together and have a few show fights but in secret they hang out and be bros.
>>36095751>. One question that I have that I am not sure was answered or not: would there be restrictions, at this early stage, of what characters the players would be playing? Would they necessarily be townsfolk? Would they necessarily be from the American lands? Or, could they be any from any nation that could reasonably have globe-trotted over to Sleepy Hollow?Ideally, they can be anything. Refugees, townsfolk, mercenaries, a mix, whatever the PCs and GM want. They can be walking into town, or have been in the town for a while. Both will mean different things. A native of the town might have an easier time with Benedictus, whereas someone new might be easier for the DuCrois Brothers to trust.
>>36095775I think the term was "Inquisition" so pretty public and pretty brutal. The people don't trust each other cause Frollo's spies are everywhere.
>>36093958Hello. Good to see you again. What has changed since I left? Has character creation been agreed upon? Are there also traps? Like a simple beartrap or a complicated Atlantean-derived trap or something?
>>36095815Thanks for clearing it up.
>>36095697So far, the basic idea that we've been working with is that Ice Queen Elsa was never actually evil, and is not at all unredeemable if the player characters are willing to put the thought and heart into actually talking to her instead of simply attacking her.Else has been overcome with a deep and maddening grief from the loss of her sister Anna and the whole of Arendelle to her frost powers, making those power lash out in ways she is beyond caring now to control. She has constructed herself a vast and mazelike Ice Palace on the mountain top to hide herself away in and filled the land with Snow Golems to keep people away and keep them from freezing, leaving the actual city of Arendelle a frigid monument to her failure. The city is not a completely empty mausoleum though, as Ice Anna, a golem accidentally animated by Elsa's sadness from the ice sculpture the real Anna turned into (>>36095455) lives there now, possessing her own basic frost powers and posing all the frozen citizens of Arendelle into fanciful tableaux and playing with Olaf whenever he can get away from his Queen. Ice Anna is ery much like the original Anna but a little dim, a little ditzy, and very much aware that she is playing the part of Anna, Princess of Arendelle, and is not the real thing. She can be recruited as an ally of the player characters, and can fill the roll of storyteller and chronicler of the real history of Arendelle, one that Hands or whomever sent the party there did not tell them.

>>36095872What if the players got Anne's soul from Hades?
Writefag of that Atlantis/Frozen idea from a few threads back here. Just got the first chunk of it done; it's reading as about five pages long in Word so I'm not sure if I'll just post it here piece by piece or lump the entire thing into a pastebin. Also good morning thread.
>>36095821I'll try to create some pre-made PC's for my players in a testing session. And I have an idea for an PC, but it will be probably thought of for now. The Campaign revolves around the Atlantean Law Enforcement, and an encounter with psychotic mermaids that have been sent by Ursula that goes horribly wrong. I've been trying to make characters that are heavily reliant in weapons, but no good crap had gone out of me.Campaign: The Atlantean Law Enforcement has sent a team of negotiators in a situation where a dozen psycho mermaids and mermen have slaughtered the occupants of the building. Thing is they aren't a dozen. Second, you can't get backup. How will you survive among the killer mermen and mermaids? Will you be killed by a crystalised claw, or by exploding under the pressure of the deep ocean? Find out in <insert apropiate name here>
>>36093567I still think Malificent needs some land that is undisputed. Not a lot but something where the brambles are too thick for the Inquisitors to travel through.
>>36095843Cool. Thanks for the replies. Really cleared that up.
>>36095809Thanks! I had thought that this might be the case, but I wasn't sure.Had a few thoughts on Powers for the Hun Dynastic Chinese characters, and though I know that's not the current conversation, I feel like I have to note them down before I forget:Hun Dynastic China/Asia>Plowshares to Swords- The living peoples subjugated by the Hun Dynasty, after fighting their Spiritual Rebellion for so long, have become adept at using improvised weapons. During a combat situation in which your character does not have access to their primary weapon, any object they pick up may be used as an improvised weapon with the same stats.>Ancestral Knowledge- As a member of the Spiritual Rebellion, your character is very familiar with the voices of your ancestors. Boy, is your character familiar with the voices of your ancestors. Once per day, you can manage to slip a word in edgewise and ask your ancestors (meaning the DM) a question about what is going on which they can try to answer to the best of their abilities.>No Rest for the Wicked and None for You Either- Your character has long allied him or herself with the ghosts and ancestors of the spirit world, and nothing is going to stop them from seeing justice done in the world. Should your character fall in combat and perish, they will, one time only, be raised from the dead as a wight to fight on.

>>36095872From the last couple threads:>"How was my performance? Was I convincing?">"There are just so few people around these days who remember what Anna was like, and you knooooooooooooooooooooooow I can't just ask Elsa for pointers on being her sister 'cause then she'll just frump and grump and sulk and drop the temperature another few degrees.">"Ice Queen? Well, yes. I aaaaaaaaam an Ice Golem after all. Like I know how to read! That's just silly."
>>36095933The idea that is bouncing in my head is this, the Atlantean Law Enforcement was created to deal with the dissidents of the sea Ursula created when she overtook the kingdom of Poseidon. So the Atlantean Law Enforcement currently has to deal with "psycho" mermaids, incredibly super-sized and overly aggressive sea-life. Not only that, but serve to be a complement to their military as such.>If anyone wanna use my idea, go ahead.
>>36096032I love it. I does good things to my black, shrivelled heart.

>>36096040From its beginnings as the original Atlantis Archeological Expedition Rourke and his people have been highly militarized, and things have only gotten more regimented and sophisticated once they'd unlocked the secrets of the Heart of Atlantis and Atlantean Crystal Tech. Dealing with Ursula, her powers and her entire oceans full of minions is definitely one of, if not the biggest reasons Atlantis remains hyper-vigilant and ready to fight at any moment. Perhaps out of fear for Atlantis itself, as it's protected by its shields and the Leviathan, but for the shipping lanes and sources of income that keep their industry and their economy running.
>>36096021Eh, I'll just post it piece by piece and give a pastebin link at the bottom.--Arendelle had once been called the jewel of the north, a propserous, if somewhat aloof, nation that had prided itself on what it did export with the few select nations it chose to establish commerce with. For some time, however, the country has remained under the thrall of an endless winter. The harbor bidding entrance to Arendelle’s castle was had frozen solid, the castle itself having long been abandoned. The silence holding vigil was crusehd as a thunderclap raced through the fjord guarding the entrance to Arendelle's harbor. No storm was present; neither were there pieces of the fjord falling through the thick sheet of ice that had long held over the harbor's surface. A point in the ice appeared to strain, buckle, and finally shatter as the a titanic submersible breached the surface. The AES Bellerophon was the flagship in a new line of submarines created by the Atlantean Empire. Based on the older Ulysses that had propelled the original founders of the Atlantean Empire to greatness, the Bellerophon improved upon her ancestor in every way, the utilization of Atlantean technology in conventional designs culminated in a submersible that was faster than her forbear, all the while being more heavily armed and armored.
>>36096130Allyson Thach bounded through the cramped hallways of the iron beast, intent on peering across the snow-covered landscape from the submarine’s circular command deck. Years of gymnastics had blessed the 32-year-old with a lithe frame, nimble fingers, and a sharp mind. She swung herself through another doorway, auburn curls swishing this way and that. Two right turns, nearly barreling over a fellow soldier on his way to the armory, and a left turn later she found herself gazing outward toward the abandoned castle that had guarded Arendelle’s harbor in generations past. Hector Swearengen, admiral of the Bellerophon, regarded the woman with a head turn and a nod as she walked up beside him. “Good morning, Admiral,” Thach said curtly, saluting.“Good to see you up, Captain.” Hector gruffed. “And what a morning it is. Two months, seventeen days, and four hours have led up to this moment.” The man leveled his stony gaze toward the castle, green and purple flags halted in mid-flutter. “Is it everything you thought it would be?”Thach shrugged. “I...wasn’t quite sure what to expect, sir.”“How do you mean, Captain?”“An entire nation going dark after the new queen’s coronation typically doesn’t bode well—and that’s completely disregarding the maelstrom that’s engulfed the nation for who-knows-how-long.”
>>36096163“Perhaps, Captain, perhaps.” The admiral let out a barely suppressed yawn. “I suppose you were expecting an ice castle guarded by snow-beasts ripe to eat lightning?”“Not exactly, sir.” The captain paused, rotating her right wrist and flexing the fingers “Something on your mind, Thach?” The words weren’t so much spoken as they were growled out from somewhere deep in the admiral’s throat.“Pardon, sir?”“That thing you do—flexing your wrist like it’s stiff. You did that very same action right before your unit’s first forays from the Aleutians onto the greater part of Alaska. And do you remember the question you asked me then?”“I can’t say I can, sir.” Allyson said.“Neither do I, but I’m pretty sure it involved something about skinwalkers or bears or bears dressed up as skinwalkers. Bottom line was that it put your mind at ease—so for God’s sake, woman, please get whatever you have on your chest out, if only that it would make you a better soldier.”Allyson exhaled. “Permission to speak freely, sir?”“Granted.”“This proposal President Rourke’s detailed...do you think the Snow Queen might actually go for it?”“Well that depends upon our emissary—and on you for getting her to the queen’s fortress safely.”“I get that, sir, it’s just...” Thach licked her lips, picking her words carefully. “Past delegations requesting an audience with the queen hadn’t ended on the best terms.”The admiral gave a slow nod. “Do you doubt your men, Thach?”
>>360961011. The Imperial Republic of Atlantis most definitely has radios. They have all manner of technology of the Atlantean Crystal, American WWI Era and hybrid varieties. It's pretty great stuff, but it's all crystal powered and only given to Atlantean citizens.2. I would imagine that the crimes that are frequent in Atlantis are the same sorts of crimes that you might expect to find in any mostly-modern country. Despite Imperial President Rourke essentially running a military dictatorship, the quality of life for Atlantean Citizens is perhaps the highest in the DVV world.3. That's a very good question and needs a bit more thought. It also depends if you are speaking about civilian citizens, who live in an "Atlantean Americana" society, or the actual Atleantean military's Away teams or "A-Teams."
>>36096123Thank you for that wise anon, but what I'm trying to think of is a "softer version" of the Atlantean Military. Since they're generally dealing with "wild" mermaids and large and aggressive sea life ,instead of larger and more dangerous threats. Also they were generally created to keep the peace, and put down any riots that might happen. Though, I thank you for the post. I never really understand how the city-state came to be and it's forces. You are a good Anon.> Maybe they could be an unofficial force made by militia? Splinter group of the Military? Give me thoughts.
>>36096194Cool, though. Thanks for posting this.
>>36096180“No, sir—I trust each and every member of my squad to perform when called.” The mercenary shook her head for emphasis. “I just don’t trust that our dear emissary has the gumption to spell out Rourke’s proposal in a way that my men aren’t turned into meat popsicles out of spite.”The admiral chuckled at that. “Well I suppose that requires a bit of trust on your part, Captain.” The admiral’s thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a crash coming from the direction of the hallway leading to the command deck. “Speak of the devil.” Swearengen trailed off as both the officers turned toward the hallway, and the cacophony of crashes and half-mumbled apologies that got closer and closer to the doorway. The source of the noises didn’t so much step out as she did spill out of the doorway, landing on her back with a groan. The captain turned on her hell and stepped over to help the other woman. “You okay there?” She said, extending a hand.“No, no—I’m fine.” The woman waved away the offered hand and picked herself up. Catherine Beckett—that was the name Allyson had read on the emissary’s dossier. The Atlantean mercenary got her first eyeful of the emissary as she brushed herself off. Her uniform was ill-fitting, loose at the chest but tight around the hips. Red hair was pulled into a side braid, green eyes hidden behind black rimmed glasses. “Goodness, I don’t know why the don’t make these ship hallways wider—so easy to run into people!”
>>36096232Her attention turned from the woman eyeing her curiously to the admiral behind her. “Oh, Admiral Swearengen!” She stepped toward the aged man, shaking his hand with both of hers. I must thank you again for taking this expedition—I trust that the Bellerophon has treated you and the crew well?”“Couldn’t have asked for a finer vessel, Miss Beckett.”The woman turned her attention to the woman behind her. “And you must be Allyson Thach, yes?”“Correct, Miss Beckett.” Allyson nodded“Thach and her squad will be providing security for you on your trip up to see the queen,” Hector interjected.“I look forward to working with you, Miss Beckett.”“Likewise,” Catherine said. She turned toward the glass canopy, looking out across the frozen harbor. “Arendelle...the name itself speaks of greatness, doesn’t it? In times past, this entire waterway would have been packed back to back by galleons laden with supplies from far-off lands. What we’re doing is writing history, people—the dawn of a new age.”
>>36096247“One thing at a time, Miss Beckett.” Admiral Swearengen stepped forward. “Earliest I’ll allow your expedition to start is tomorrow. Our first order of business is to establish base camp—temporarily here on the ice first, then something more permanent when we can establish routes inland.” The admiral allowed himself a pause to get his point across before continuing. “In the meantime, Thach—get your men briefed and a second squad outfitted in reserve. I’ll leave the particulars up to you when it comes to squad composition and loadout. Miss Beckett, I suggest you accompany Miss Thach when she briefs her men.” The admiral steeled his gaze to the mountain looming over the castle and harbor. “If we are to face this new dawn, I would prefer we do it with a confident step and a pistol at the hip.”--I just realized the second part of this is just as long and I'd rather not take away from the discussion in this thread by posting a gigantic wall of dialogue, so I'm just gonna take a breather here unless people want me to keep going.

>>36096194Also, what would be the chances that mermaids and mermen would seek refuge in Atlantis? Maybe that could be a reason why Ursula isn't with good terms with Rourke. There might also be my "wild" mermaids. They are the ones that have been greatly affected by the malevolent world which Ursula has created. They have fins that could transform into sharp claws, and have strength to tear out your lungs. On your answer about the equipment, maybe they have a pistol that could non-lethally take down criminals. Some handcuffs, maybe a suit for underwater patrols. On their style, i've decided they are militaristic and oppressive. This should be shown in their gear, looking more like SWAt teams of today than policemen.

With the access ramps extended to the outside ice, every truck and every jeep was bustling this way and that across the metal floor. Cranes were loading supplies and moving vehicles up and down across the multiple levels of the ship section. Shouted orders were mingled with the beeps of car horns. Diesel fumes, motor oil, and vehicle exhaust created a noxious miasma that would have choked every living thing on-board were it not for the crystal-powered ventilation system that kept the air stale, clean, but still unbearably raucous.Swearengen had been generous in allowing Thach to take a full company’s worth of men. Out of the near two hundred that had made the voyage, she had chosen six of the finest men and women in the company to accompany her and Rourke’s emissary on this expedition In addition to the six men she had hand-picked she had allowed one of her most trusted squadleaders, Lieutenant Jun Aramaki, to assemble his own squad of men. Jun’s team would be held in reserve, ready to move in case something were to happen to her squad that would require a bit more...persuasion...to solve
>>36096526Allyson looked out over the thirteen assembled men and women, scattered about in a loose semicircle and using supply and ammo crates as seats, idly chatting to each other. “Alright guys, settle down. We’ve got a big day ahead of us tomorrow, so shut the fuck up and listen.” All thirteen pairs of eyes were on her and the perky emissary to her right. “Now first things first—we all here?” A chorus of grunts of acknowledgement were heard all around. “Good.”Allyson cleared her throat. “Let me be the first to welcome you to Arendelle—population one mean queen and a whole bunch of snow-golems. Unless you remain wary of your surroundings and maintain your equipment, you will freeze to death, your gear will freeze solid, and your frozen corpse will be picked apart by wolves and bears.” A hand shoots up from the crowd. “Yes?”“So does that mean that we won’t have time to build snowmen?” Thach knew the voice of her demolition expert anywhere. Tyreese Womack, master with a grenade launcher. His short, slicked back hair made an unmistakable sheen even from his position all the way in the back of the crowd.
>>36096526Since Anna exist in your story, maybe she is like ala-Tomb Raider? Exploring the deathly depths of the spiralling castle Elsa built?
>>36096549“Not unless you want your balls to fall off from the elements, Womack.” Thach grinned. “Napoleon slogged through this sort of weather in Russia—‘General Winter’, he called it. Be thankful you will not have to march through mud in addition to both ice and snow. Now—our first objective once we get off the boat is site recon of the harbor town proper. We fucking clear that, the rest of our fucking shit can take a better foothold in this wasteland—radio, supplies, all that good stuff.” Another hand shoots out from the crowd. “Yes?”“Any chances we could be encountering people still living in the town?” Thach knew that voice as coming from Ezekiel Lahey, her chosen medic. A soft-spoken soul from the heartland of America, with a penchant for playing the harmonica and an ear for old-timey music.“Probably not, Zeke, sorry. If there are people still living there, I wouldn’t imagine them to be in the best of shape. Keep in mind—we run across people, let’s try to help them best we can.” Another hand rises from the sea of faces. “Yes?”“Will our radio work once we move into town?” That voice belonged to Bernadette Leroy, the squad radiowoman. Bernadette functioned as the squad’s rock, a voice of reason when one was needed and an excellent singer when the situation called for one.
>>36096576“We should still be in radio range of the ship once we get into town. After that, when the Bellerophon gets an outside radio tower propped up, our radio pack should be in constant range. Which brings us to our second objective: getting miss Catherine Beckett to Queen Elsa to hopefully open trade with the Atlantean Empire.” Allyson nodded to the woman beside her who acknowledged her back. Thach noticed another hand starting to creep upward. “Yes—down in front.”“Just where is The Snow Queen’s castle?” Zoe Martin, Thach’s handpicked sniper. Five feet, four inches of tanned, blonde, Australian fury. If there were ever a clutch shot to be made, Zoe could make it.“I was just about to get to that, Zoe.” Thach turned to the redhead beside her. “Miss Beckett, if you could explain the particulars of your part of this mission?”“Gladly, captain.” Thach stepped aside to allow Beckett her fifteen minutes. “President Rourke has realized that Arendelle and its surrounding region is rich in natural resources, among them timber and oil. He has also expressed interest in starting a ski lodge or three to boost tourism in the region. Regardless, the President has also seen that the ruler of the region, Queen Elsa, has drastically underused these same resources, and has also seen that, if there’s anybody still left surviving this perpetual winter and as your commander has previously stated, they aren’t exactly in the best of shape."
>>36094370Did we ever decide on what happened to the monster world? Some say it devolved into a feral state, others say it evolved into a tolertarion state that kidsnaps kids
>>36094419He resurrected Meganna
>>36096595"So while yes, the purpose of this expedition is to attempt opening up trade between Atlantis and Arendelle, my job is also to nudge the ruler our way by making the opening of commerce also have a humanitarian aspect that, we’re hoping, might thaw the queen’s heart a little. As to your question, Zoe, the queen is located on top of a mountain in a castle made of pure ice—if eyewitness reports are to be believed.”Zoe blinked. “That...what? Is she living in a fairytale or something?”Allyson stepped forward. “Our purpose during this expedition is making sure Miss Beckett gets to and from this ice palace safely.” Another hand was raised from the front of the audience. “Yes?”“What sort of resistance should we expect?” Liang Pan stood as he asked his question. Pan easily filled out the role of heavy weapons specialis, commanding a prototype beam weapon that could devastate the modern battlefield.“Intelligence reports vary when it comes to enemy forces, but what there is is nothing to sneeze at. Eyewitness accounts report a sort of ‘snow golem’, perhaps twenty or thirty feet tall with strength fitting its size. I have full confidence, however, that whatever we have can deal with whatever she can conjure up. That being said, I’m leaving your loadouts to your personal discretion. The only guidelines I’ll give are to stick with what you know works, and for God’s sakes remember that you’re going to be slogging through ice and snow. Any other questions?”
>>36096475Else is definitely not malevolent in any way, I think. Things have just, excuse the expression, snowballed out of control with regards to her grief and her powers: Her powers went out of control and killed Anna and froze her nation solid, sending her into a downward spiral of depression that only made the cold worse.
>>36095890She'd probably be pretty shocked by what happened, but would also continue to try and save Elsa. As for the statue anna, im not sure would become of that. I think that a body made entirely out of ice might be s little too far gone
>>36096633“So when do we start?” Kavita Singh was the youngest of the group at twenty-two and the most fiery. As the rifleman/grenadier of the squad, her function was as the squad’s lynch pin, going from suppressing targets to blowing up fortifications to spotting targets.“First thing tomorrow, boys and girls. So get some rest and some hot food—you’ll be needing it. Dismissed.”--And that's it for the first chunk. Next bit will come out whenever it's done, as midterms are a bitch.>>36096553Anna does exist, but I'm not sure what to do with her. The animated golem prancing about the castle is an interesting idea, but to be honest I'm playing fast and loose with the story and seeing what fits, so I have no idea whether Anna will come into the narrative sooner or later.
Knightfag from previous threads here. I've been ruminating on No Luck For The Tough; some of the misfortunes would be resisted by Prevent Harm, while the others would be resisted by Endure, so the bonus should be +3 to Prevent Harm and Endure instead of +5 to Endure. Also, methinks the trait should be restricted to those whose highest trait is ROBUSTNESS!Ideas I've had for traits of a similar nature with similar restrictions:Nimble Trait: You gain +3 to Prevent Harm and Acrobatics, but bad things constantly happen around you. You always get out of it okay, but the people around you don't always.Smart Trait: You gain +5 to your favorite Smart Guy skill, but.....something. I'm not really sure what. You have trouble explaining yourself to others about that subject because you can't stop using jargon? You get your nose stuck in a book too often?Charismatic Trait: You are quite beautiful, even by the standards of Disney protagonists, gaining +4 to Deceit and Persuasion against the opposite gender......but from time to time, you attract some attention that you certainly don't want.
>>36096712And before I forget:http://pastebin.com/Pih6XjFm
>>36096728>the bonus should be +3 to Prevent Harm and Endure instead of +5 to Endure. That's insanely high, though. What about +2 / +2?
Twisted Threadstarter here. XIV will probably be up in next 1/2 hour, regardless of what page we've fallen to.

>>36096549Actually, it gets much colder than that: people have been known to choke on frozen air
>>36096793>+4 total versus +6 totalIt's giving the GM a free "fuck with this guy" card. This might be hard to measure in value, but it can certainly be adjusted to compensate for the bonus.
>>36096633>>36096595, >>36096576, >>36096549, >>36096526So glad to read the continuation, Atlantean Writer! Have a few Powers:>Arendelle Refugees:>The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway:- Before escaping their homeland, all former citizens of Arendelle were touched by the magic of the Snow Queen, and are better suited to colder climes than other people.>Family Matters:- Kith and kin were always important to the people of Arendelle, especially after what happened between their former princesses. Refugees from Arendelle are adept at resolving matters if the home, even deep seated ones, and can often use these skills to fix or defuse difficult situations caused by familial issues.>Trolled- Trolls, it seems, do not only live in Arendelle, can certainly recognize people escaping that frozen land. When in the wilderness, friendly trolls will occasionally present themselves to offer small tokens of aid, sometimes magical in nature, or personal advice.
What of the Pirate Lords and the so called Pirate King?I would suggest that they be far fewer than the original nine that were destroyed by Davy Jones. Jones is now the undisputed Pirate King and he rules the Pacific Ocean and South China Sea. Captain Hook holds the Atlantic and Caribbean. An enterprising ape controls the Indian Ocean. A former Atlantean controls the Arctic Sea. Two Captains vie for Lordship of the Mediterranean. A former Vatican Priest and an Arabian Corsair. These six pirates form the Fifth Brethren Court. Their domain covers the surface of all seas outside of the Indonesian waters which are fiercely controlled by Beckett and the EIC. They exist in uneasy truce with Ursula, helped by Jones' magical control of the Kraken.Together with Beckett's waters, this forms the Seven Seas of the new world. The Pacific, The Atlantic, The Arctic, The Indonesian, The Indian, The East Mediterranean and the West Mediterranean.Attached picture is obviously very rough, intended to give more of an idea of territory than anything else. It's important to remember that Ursula rules everything under the sea and merely claims a lot of the surface waters. Her influence is felt there far less than below but in a specific confrontation, the pirates would typically defer to her (outside of perhaps Jones and Hook)
>>36096848Interesting. This idea definitely has legs, and I like the notion that the Oceans really are this vast and almost lawless place always in flux and always dangerous when you don't have an Atlantean warship watching your back.
>>36096848You had me at 'an enterprising ape'
>>36096908Shame he's not Disney
>>36096797New Thread Here Go Go Super Star Terra Team Now!>>36096939Rule of Three!
>>36096898Its fun to say too.Powers for the collective group I'm going to call pirates, Men and Women of the Sea:>Men and Women of the Sea>Sea Legs- Men and women of the sea are used to living and working aboard ship, and as such have adapted their mannerisms accordingly. Whenever aboard and sort of watercraft, all physical stats receive a boost.>The Rum is Never Gone:- Being a pirateis a hard lifestyle, oftentimes needing a hard drink to make it a little more tolerable. A Man or Woman of the Sea is able at any moment to find or produce from their person a flask or bottle of alcohol upon need.>Swashbuckling:- A Man or Woman of the Sea is a master duelist and Swashbuckler, and when engaged in one-on one combat is guaranteed to be able to match his or her opponent if they are unanke to best them for as long as they can keep moving.
I haven't followed these threads, but why are you making a homebrew system? The game is about the fluff, so why not just use GURPS or Fate or Simple d6 or d20 for the crunch?
>>36097095I'm guessing to better model the Disney dynamic.
>>36097106Then the question is, how do the existing options, like say Fate, fail to do the Disney dynamic?
Is Gaston a character? If so, why not?
>>36097570he's part of the Huntsmen
>>36097126They don't, but we want to homebrew.
and we are at bump limit
>>36089341why do all the fictional characters who look like that have to be evil?
