Overview

>This is a quest taking place in the Dragonball universe, starting at the beginning of the Saiyan Saga

>You are a human male, currently five years of age

>At the end of each update, you will have the opportunity to vote on what to do next. When one course of action has three votes, it wins.

>Write-ins are allowed, though I will disregard those I suspect to be shitposting

>Death is possible in this quest, but in this universe it is rarely permanent. So, try to be careful, but have fun

>I will offer certain action/dialogue options at the end of each update. You can vote on these, or write-in

>Have fun

You start out basic, with a simple energy blast at your stationary foe, who simply ducks forward and lets the blast sail over his head, blasting through the tree and causing it to fall down on his head. Yajirobe groans and falls backwards, a piece of meat still sticking from his mouth as he falls unconscious.

"Well...that ended quickly," Yamcha comments, flabbergasted.

"I guess that's what happens when we expect anything out of Yajirobe," Krillin says.

"Should we do something?" Yamcha asks.

"Nah, he'll be fine," Krillin answers, turning to you. "Nice work."

>A. Thank him

"Krillin, let's spar!" you suggest.

Krillin chuckles. "Wow, really going all-out today, huh?"

"Come on Krillin, you can take him!" Yamcha shouts.

Krillin grins. "Alright, I'll spar with you, Kaguya."

The others (aside from Yajirobe, who is still unconscious by the trees) make some room for yourself and Krillin.

Krillin drops into a defensive stance, waiting for you to make your first move.

You remember that Bulma scanned his power level at Kame House, and it was higher than yours. Still, with your new tricks, you might be able to win.

You raise your right hand, pointing a single finger towards Krillin's leg. It takes only a moment for you to gather the necessary energy to unleash your attack.

"Dodon Ray!" you shout.

Krillin leaps into the air, the blast missing him by a mile as he quickly gathers his own energy into a blast that he throws down at you.

You leap into the air in a similar manner, only to be charged by your diminutive opponent a second later. You barely manage to defend yourself as Krillin attacks with a ferocious series of punches and kicks that quickly begin to force you back.

Knowing you can't keep defending forever, and that a counterattack could easily backfire, you take a different approach.

You quickly descend to the ground, gather a small bit of energy, and hurl it in a ball of light up at Krillin, who easily swerves to avoid it.

You gather energy a second time an hurl another ball of it up at Krillin, who once again flies out of the way. This time, however, he doesn't stay hovering above you, and instead comes flying right for you.

Holding your right hand and left hand out at opposite sides of your body, you gather energy into each. At the same instant, a ball of light appears in your right and left hands, and you throw the right one at Krillin, barely missing him, as he increases his altitude slightly, letting the blast pass beneath him.

You throw the energy ball in your left hand, and Krillin swerves to the side, coming around you.

You spin and thrust your palms towards him, shooting a wave of energy that he ducks under, coming around and striking you from the right.

You tumble away from him, landing on your feet and seeing him flying straight at you. Thrusting your hands forward one last time, you unleash an energy blast that he is unable to dodge. Instead, he stops, eyes wide, and raises his arms to block the attack.

.The result isn't quite what you'd hoped. You stopped Krillin, but you don't seem to have done any real damage to him with that attack. He lowers his arms and lowers himself to the ground, crouching and preparing to charge.

I hope we can learn Solar Flare soon. Between Kamehameha, Dodon Ray, and Wolf Fang Fist, I think we're good on offense right now and need some defense. And unlike the later two moves, Solar Flare never goes out of style and is always useful. Besides, Solar Flare could buy us time for Wolf Fang Fist or a charged Kamehameha, and thus make a good combo.

You drop into a crouch, and Krillin charges.

As he gets closer, you raise your right hand above your head, and lower your left hand in front of you, preparing to unleash Yamcha's Wolf Fang Fist.

As Krillin gets closer, you channel energy into your hands, and picture a wolf in your mind. Krillin comes closer, and you prepare to attack, only for him to jump over your head and land behind you.

You turn and receive an energy wave to your chest, pushing you backwards and eventually knocking you onto your back.

Krillin leaps into the air and throws another energy attack your way.

Throwing your legs over your head, you roll backwards and get to your feet, jumping back and evading the blast. Krillin does not let up, and throws more energy attacks that you scramble to avoid.

>>
>>36065894
>Too close for a Dodon ray
Anon, we've been pushed back by his energy wave and subsequent ki attacks, there's a good deal of distance between us, he's flying and charging into his beamspam seems like a pretty bad plan.

Not that it matters at this point, first to three and all that.
>>
>>36065828
>C. Shoot a Dodon Ray
>>
>>36065977
ah right had to reread the post for a sec but still Krillian is a experienced fighter and he knows how to DOGE a dodon ray, besides he's firing energy blasts at us right now so we would be a sitting duck since it seems that the dodon ray needs the user to be stationary.
>>
>>36066037
The beamspam is also leaving him mostly stationary, he'll either need to let up to dodge, giving us some breathing room, or get hit by the ray.

Even if we manage to close with Krillin and don't get torn apart by the beamspam on the way, the likelihood of overpowering him in melee is minimal, as, like you said, he is an experienced fighter.
>>
>>36066152
true but we need to gain the momentum, were playing on his cues not ours. It might not seem like it but he's in control or at least has more control than we do, we need to do something unexpected and reckless to throw him off and gain some control.
>>
>>36066210
Successfully crippling a limb or at least forcing him to stop the beamspam for a second would accomplish the same thing, doing something under the logic that it's so stupid he won't expect it isn't a good tactic, and I'll be utterly shocked if it accomplishes anything other than losing the fight.

Rather than continuing to dodge or returning fire, you elect to charge Krillin head on and attack him physically.

So, you quickly change direction and make your way towards Krillin, who quickly blasts you back down to the ground.

Between the burns and the impact, that attack hurt, and you wince a bit as you get back to your feet.

Krillin brings his hands to his side and cups them together.

"Ka.......me.....ha...."

A blue light appears in his palms.

Quickly cupping your hands at your side, you begin to focus your energy, as quickly as you can.

"Ka...me.....ha...me...." you say quickly, your hands growing warmer by the second as you put energy into the attack.

"meee.....haaaaa!!!!!!" Krillin shouts, thrusting his hands forward and sending a blue beam of light your way.

"HAAAAA!!!!!" you yell, thrusting your hands towards him and unleashing your own attack.

The two beams collide in a brilliant flash of light, and you instantly feel a strong force pushing your own blast back towards you. Straining against it, you attempt to push your attack, along with Krillin's, towards your opponent.

However, Krillin's fighting power is higher than yours, and you've been injured and barely scraped your foe. So, your beam is steadily pushed back towards you.

>>36066627
Not seeing any real chance at outdoing Krillin's power in your slightly weakened state, you decide that the entire beam struggle is pointless.

So, your next instinct is to dodge. However, as you begin to move, and cut off your attack, Krillin's blast strikes you before you even fully realize that it's coming for you. Apparently, straining against your attack, and putting more power into his own caused it to move much, much faster when it no longer had any resistance. And, with the strength of the attack so greatly increased, when it hits, it hits hard.

You feel a terrible burn across your body, and see that you're hurtling through the air before everything goes black.

You wake up in the same bedroom as before, Mr. Popo standing over you.

"Hello," he says, grinning as you open your eyes. "I am glad to see that you are well."

If I had to guess, it probably has something to do with the beamspammer being able to curve/direct their blast. So if you disengage, you don't have your beamspam around to mitigate the impact (maybe?), and your attacker will still be able to chase you with the full force of their beam.

When you finish your meal, you decide that it's best not to keep Kami waiting.

Setting your plate and glass on the bedside table, you get out of bed and exit the room. Following Kami's energy signature, it doesn't take long for you to find him, predictably, waiting for you in his throne room.

"Ah, finally woke up, have you?" Kami asks as you make your way into the room.

He remains seated on his throne, smiling lightly as you approach.

"I hear your match with Krillin was rather intense," he continues. "I also hear that he was not the only opponent you fought yesterday. It is clear that you take this training very seriously. You are pushing yourself to your limits, devoting every ounce of your being to preparing for the coming threat."

He nods approvingly. "And, your impressive displays have inspired the others to work harder on their training. You all are improving faster than I had expected."

His expression turns grim. "However, I fear it is not enough. I do not believe any of you truly grasp the scope of what is to come."

You leave Kami's throne room and walk the halls until you find your way outside.

Tien and Yamcha are sparring, with Tien clearly having the upper hand. Chiaotzu fights a losing battle against Krillin, and Yajirobe watches from the sidelines, eating, as usual.

When you announce to everyone that Kami wants to see them, they rush to you excitedly, except for Yajirobe, who only gives you a shrug before returning to eating.

"Finally! The real training can begin!" Yamcha yells excitedly.

"So, where do we need to go?" Tien asks.

You tell them that Kami is in his throneroom and that you'll lead them there. Yamcha and Chiaotzu run ahead, deciding to just find Kami on their own, while Tien and Krillin hang back.

"Hey, are you coming?" Krillin asks Yajirobe.

"Nah, you guys go ahead," he answers. "I'm in the middle of lunch."

Krillin sighs and turns to you. "Well, we're ready to go."

The three of you make your way to Kami's throne room, where you find the guardian standing with Yamcha and Chiaotzu.

"So, it's time to start our training with you?" Krillin asks.

Kami nods. "It is. Allow me to show you where your training will begin."

Kami leads you and the others through the lookout, eventually coming to a small doorway. He pushes it open and steps inside. Following, you find yourself in a massive room, a giant pendulum swinging back and forth from the center of the ceiling.

"This is where the majority of Goku's training took place," Kami informs you. "In this room, space and time, past, present, and future, are all one."

Isn't that really dangerous? If past and future are one. doesn't that mean we could be as weak as we were when we were born or as strong as we will ever be?

"What does that mean?" you ask Kami.

"Within this room, you can be transported to any place, and any time," he tells you

He leads you to the center of the room, and gestures to a circular symbol on the ground, inside of which is a pyramid, and a pentagram.

"Those of you who are willing, stand in this circle," Kami instructs. "You will be transported one hundred years into the past."

It'll be fun. Though, ideally, we'll get to dodon ray one of their heads off because they murder Kaguya.

A Lot. Once we're done we should ask if we can fight stronger opponents using this, since those guys were like Raditz tier.

Time travel sounds awesome!

You quickly move into the circle, standing in the center. Tien, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, and Krillin follow. Your group turns to face Kami, who nods.

"Now, close your eyes..." he instructs.

You do so, and when you open them, you find yourself on another world.

Buildings all around you are in ruins, either crumbling apart, or nothing more than piles of rubble. The sky is an ugly shade of red, and the ground is littered with hundreds of corpses. Their armor, and the devices on their heads suggest that they are Saiyans.

"It looks like Kami didn't send us back far enough," Yamcha comments. "All of the Saiyans are dead."

"Yep, battle's over," Krillin agrees.

"Still, there's bound to be some other Saiyans skulking around, right?" Yamcha asks. "Let's just look around until we find them."

We wouldn't know they're raditz tier unless we specifically remembered how strong he was. But, honestly, how we are now, Raditz is damned good practice.

Thanks, Dralo. It's been fun.I miss the long threads, though.
>>
>>36068790
Hopefully in the next few weeks they will get long again
>>
>>36068821
Good to know.
>>
>>36068821
Are they usually on Sundays?
>>
>>36069071
Usually Saturdays and occasionally on weeknights, but my next few Saturdays will be busy
>>
>>36069071
The scheduling has got me confused, actually. It used to be on Saturdays, then it got switched to Sunday
>>36069093
So it will be Saturday this time? Great!
>>
>>36069116
Probably not next Saturday, possibly the one after.
>>
>>36069093
No worries. I'll just try to keep an eye out like I've been doing then.
