Today is August 25th, UC 0084. You are Dominic O'Hara: a Commander in the Titans anti-terror organization, squadron leader of the “Grim Guard”, and Executive Officer of the Valkyrie, both of which now operate out of the converted Helium carrier Nagato.

Yesterday you captured Purus Seven, Nine, and Twelve, whose names are Diana, Cynthia, and Marida. You also discovered that they were clones created on Mars, and were sent to the Earth Sphere to raid commerce and generate data for later use by Enzo Bernini's Zeon faction. While the trio of young clones hoped that their success would validate the existence of themselves and their sisters to their superiors, it's far more likely this data would have been used to somehow allow Oldtype pilots to duplicate their abilities.

In a kind gesture, you set up the three siblings in their own quarters, and told them that if they needed anything they could come to you for help. Or, failing that, that ALICE was always available, and that their friend Rebecca's quarters were nearby too.

It's about 02:00 when you're woken by a soft rustling of sheets next to you. It's not Haman or Rosse, since they're both asleep in the next room. Audrey is to your right, and she's out cold as well. But to your left, where Carya was, you spot a familiar red-headed girl with a big red “9” tattooed on her shoulder.

>Quietly ask what exactly Cynthia thinks she's doing here.
>Take her back to her own quarters, you're not having this.
>Just pretend to be asleep, see what happens from here.

It's not nightly, since you're all in a very demanding line of work, and until about a year ago you weren't in any sort of relationship. So that's 16 years of a Scots-Irish Christian upbringing and a three year dry spell.

If Cynthia's here on her own, something must be up. You extend your senses quickly and find that the Sisters are still in bed, sound asleep (they're fairly heavy sleepers), and the other two clones are still in their rooms. Strangely, you can't tell if they're sleeping or awake, or if they're sleeping fitfully.

You pull a blanket over Cynthia, surprising her that you're awake.

"Sorry," she offers quietly.

"No problem," you whisper back. "I wake up as easily as I fall asleep... too many years as a soldier does that to you. You need a bedtime story?"

She shakes her head silently.

"Glass of warm milk?"

Another shake.

"Something's wrong, isn't it?"

For a moment, Cynthia says nothing. "Do you have dreams, Commander?"

>Yeah, doesn't everyone? Some of them are nice, some aren't. Why?

"You had a nightmare, didn't you?" you ask softly. Cynthia nods.

You smile at her in the dark, something that she can probably feel better than she can see. "It was just a dream, Cynthia. Nothing you need to worry about. As for the nightmares that aren't just dreams, I'll take care of those too."

You get a strange sensation of dread from Cynthia. "Like... a dream that seems real?"

"You mean like a hallucination?" you ask nervously.

Cynthia shakes her head just firmly enough for you to feel it. "Like a nightmare that feels as true as real life, and that other people can remember."

You sit up quietly, the turn in conversation starting to bother you. "Have you had a dream like that?"

Cynthia nods silently.

"Was there a shadowy man in it?" you ask.

"Cruel laugh, no features?" Cynthia replies.

Oh god, that's the guy. "Have your sisters had these dreams too?"

"Yes... and I was having one just now..."

>Have Cynthia bring in her sisters, try to get them to sleep more easily

Lets discuss this in the morning, with Artesia there or something. It could be a psychological thing propagated by Newtype awareness or we could be dealing with a serious problem.
>>
>>36043307
>Have Cynthia bring in her sisters, try to get them to sleep more easily
We need to bring this issue up come morning, though. Nyarlathotep messing with our dreams will not be tolerated.
>>
>>36043307
"Were you trying to monitor your other sisters? I think the more you expand your senses the easier it is for those things to get ahold of your mind."

"Yeah.. that one. It's a cosmic horrorshow that tried to mindbreak the other four. Audrey hasn't encountered It yet thankfully. It's best not to think too hard on the thing or your sanity may suffer for it. We just don't know what it is."

"Go grab the other two and bring them here. The Sisters, Haman, Rosse, and myself have had experience with that one. We can help ward off the worst of it. Probably."
>>
>>36043391
This.
>>
>>36043403
Nyarlathotep?
>>
>>36043485
I was thinking more "shadowy elder thing that enjoys meddling in the dreams of psychic sensitives". We'd be lucky if it were Nyaruko. Nothing that incarnates as a cute female is a threat to Dominic.
>>
>>36043391
We're tapping into the Immaterium Anon. Humans can only perceive in three dimensions while Newtypes can perceive the Fourth Wall.

The shit we're encountering is basically Cthulhu-lite so far. These things exist beyond normal human perception because they live on the Fourth Dimensional Wall. If we go poking around, we'll suffer SAN loss because our human, mortal brain won't be capable of handling it.

>Have Cynthia bring in her sisters, try to get them to sleep more easily

"It projects events that could've been. Don't let it make you dwell into those thoughts. Sowing doubt is its particular carnival trick that we overcame."

I'd be very particularly peeved if our Marida got a nightmare dose of what canon Puru 12 experienced.
>>
>>36043526
I think it's more along the lines of a psychic parasite actually. We excised the Hallow Man by telling it to fuck off. Young, budding Newtypes will be exceptionally vulnerable to these creatures mental intrusions until they grow old enough to control their abilities.
>>
>>36043307
You carefully consider for a moment what this means... if they're seeing the same things you've seen, they could be in danger. What's more, it's a problem you can help with.

"We've had dealings with that thing in the past," you explain to Cynthia. "We call it the Hollow Man."

"And you won?"

You shake your head. "We escaped."

"Do you think you can help us?" she asks hopefully.

"I don't know," you admit. "But I can try. Go get your sisters and we'll have a sleep-over."

Cynthia carefully extracts herself from the bed, and quietly sneaks out the door to get her siblings. You can feel them awaken with a start before the situation is explained to them. Marida seems skeptical, but Diana is more than ready to try anything to keep the Hollow Man out of her dreams.

When they return you beckon them up onto the bed, where they squeeze themselves in. Carya mutters something lewd at you as she stirs, which thankfully the three little redheads don't understand, and Audrey throws an arm around your neck as you all settle in to sleep.

"Wow..." you mutter. "That was unexpected."

"You okay?" Audrey asks nervously.

You nod. "Actually, yeah. I told the Hollow Man to eff off again, and still got a good night's sleep."

Carya looks around herself, confused as to why she's now sandwiched between two clones. "Um, Dominic?" she asks. "Did I miss something here?"

As Diana eyes the largest of several wicked scars on your chest, you turn to face the Marseilles. "Yeah, our guests were having nightmares, so I invited them over. How'd the three of you sleep?"

Cynthia gives you a slight smile. "Better, thank you. What do you say, Marida?"

On the other side of Audrey, you hear a sigh. "Thank you for sleeping with us, Commander."

Audrey snickers lightly.

"So," Catrina interjects. "What are we going to do about this?"

"What CAN we do?" Carya adds skeptically.

Audrey shrugs. "I don't even know what we're talking about."

"As for what we can do? Sticking around in groups should alleviate any further intrusions somewhat. Safety in numbers and all. We already got an idea on it's MO based on what Haman and Rosse saw, so at least we can anticipate the Hollow Man's follow-up actions."

I suppose you're right, given the context. I was just thinking that since their gene donor was "Elpeo Puru", that "Puru" could be considered their family name.So calling them the Purus would be the equivalent of calling a trio of siblings the Smiths, or the Johnsons, or something like that. She pauses. "Yeah?"

"And was there a hollow black void in it in the shape of a man?"

"No," she tells you, "it was a white void in the shape of a woman."

Huh, that's different. "Well, that happened to us when the Sisters tried to contact us after getting kidnapped by those jerkoffs from Riah. We call the black one the 'Hollow Man', and in all likelihood it's been working its way inside our heads."

Carya frowns. "And he was bothering the three of you?"

Cynthia nods. "Yes."

"Well," you sigh," seems like we're due for redecorating in here. I think we should move the girls into one of these side rooms we've got, and move the beds so they're on opposite sides of the same wall."

"You think it has something to do with proximity?" Audrey asks.

You shrug. "Couldn't hurt to keep our most experienced Newtypes close to our newest additions."

"So we're a part of your team now?" Diana asks hopefully.

"At least until we're sure what we're dealing with," Carya replies, "I guess so."

That's good. And somewhat disappointing.

But really, what IS the Hollow Man?
A psychic parasite? A Weapon?
Wait. There must be thousands of non-military Newtypes with varying levels of power, and we have a war going on.

If we can use our powers to link our minds and communicate, then other Newtypes might also be able to do that, if not as strongly. Or consciously.

Maybe the Naked Understanding Space is like the collective unconscious, and the Hollow Man is like Persona Nyarlathotep, a representation of the Newtypes (and maybe Humanity's) fears, hate and insecurities.

The next half hour or so is the most hectic morning routine so far, with eight people all trying to share the same two sinks and two shower stalls. The only time-saving aspect to it all is that showertime ends up being shared: the Purus, as you think of them in your mind to save time and keep them distinct from the "Sisters", agree to shower together. Rossweisse slips into the shower along with you, which is convenient and a little fun... but not "too fun".

Not this early in the day, at least.

"Haman, Audrey," you ask. "Take Diana, Cynthia, and Marida down to the hangar. I'd like you to work on using a psycommu system. Haman, see where our new friends stand. Audrey, see if you can't improve your control abilities."

"Got it," Audrey replies as Haman leads the three red-haired girls out of the suite. Diana gives you a sheepish wave before she steps out.

You turn your attention to the Sisters and Rosse. "We'll be working together," you tell them as you walk over to one of the displays and switch on a console and pop Brawl in. "I'll attack you," you tell Carya, "so use your own precognition to spotdodge and shield: no attacks of your own. I'll be mixing regular attacks and grabs."

"And me?" Rosse asks curiously.

"Do as you please," you tell her. "You can join us and try to sharpen your instincts, or you can try meditating. I'll help in any way I can."

"Sounds good," Carrina tells you, selecting Snake as you take Zero Suit Samus. After contemplating briefly what she'd like to do, Rosse settles in next to you and picks Star Wolf before color swapping to red.

Cheeky little thing.

"Alright," you tell her with a grin. "Do your best to attack me in place of Carrina, who can't attack. Try using your senses to your advantage."

You select Battlefield, and switch off items before starting the game.

The pieces of Samus' Varia suit immediately fall off, becoming dangerous projectile weapons, and Rossweisse runs foolishly right into a plasma wire that hits her straight in the face. While she's falling, you toss a suit piece at her for good measure, which connects with Wolf. You can tell that Rosse tried to reflect that, but was frustrated by the fact that Wolf was caught helpless.

Turning your attention to Carrina, you lead in with a glidetoss into a grab. You hear the tone of a perfect shield that stops the suit piece, and Carrina perfectly spotdodges ZSS' painfully slow wire grab. Were she allowed to attack, she'd have punished you for that: in fact, you wouldn't have even used it in the first place. But instead, Rosse uses the opening to fire at you from behind, forcing you to evade. Since friendly fire is off, Carrina lets the projectile pass her by as you turn your focus back to Rosse.

For a little more than thirty seconds the match continues like that: Carrina perfectly evades or shields every attack you throw at her, and you trade blows with Rosse up into the ~120% range. Finally, something changes.

You manage to hit Rosse from below one of the platforms and connect with an up air, which knocks her down a stock. Then, using the moment, you sneak a buffered running grab in behind a paralyzer shot, managing to get hold of Carrina. You then take Snake straight up to 60% with a series of chain throws that Carrina can't interrupt, before tossing him off the edge of the stage where an aerial spike finishes that stock.

Rosse seems a bit frustrated at her defeat, but Carrina seems exhausted by the constant onslaught.

"Maaaybe Go instead," you muse aloud. "You okay, Carya?"

"Yeah," she responds breathlessly, her good eye strangely unfocused. "Tired myself out there. Maybe it's best using that trick a little at a time."

"Caution is a good thing," Rosse agrees quietly.

For the next half hour, you watch Rossweisse and Carya play Go against each other. Each carefully considers their moves before committing, so it strikes you as quite well played. Catrina makes a mistake or two that you can see, and Rosswiesse quickly punishes those errors. But at the same time, Carya plays smartly enough to even things out and ensure that her sister's mistakes don't set them back too badly.

God, is it ever boring to watch, though.

"ALICE?" you ask, prompting the AI's pop idol image to appear on your screen. For some reason, she's dressed as a shrine maiden today.

"Sir?" she asks. "What can I do for you?"

"I'd like to see the latest intel," you explain. "Specifically the situation in Riah, and current Titans deployments."

"Right away, Dominic."

"New uniform?" you press. The virtual girl 'blushes' at the comment.

"Indeed. I thought it was a fine time to try something new."

You nod approvingly. "I like it. It's fresh."

ALICE's face turns even redder before she disappears. In her place, a few windows open.

"Hah!" Catrina declares. "Got you now... wait, no. I haven't got you. I haven't got you at all."

As it happens, the most recent news from Riah isn't exactly heartening. The Side has been pushing for greater independence for a while now, but the fiasco around Carya and Catrina's kidnapping has raised a major stir. The politicians caught up in authorizing the kidnapping attempts turned out to have all been relative moderates, who cautioned against a complete severance of ties with the Earth that has been pushed by some of the more extreme officials.

Titans, of course, has apprehended these politicians, pouring more fuel on the proverbial fire and fanning strong anti-Titans sentiments across Riah. Your team isn't blamed, or course: your track record of protecting bystanders has netted you significant capital. If anything, there's some anger that your team was specifically targeted. But of course, Titans as a whole is viewed as a problem regardless of the qualities of a few of its members.

Then, you have the most recent list of Titans deployments: of the various teams, yours is the only one out this far from the Moon. Some units of Asshimars have been placed around key locations on Earth, along with a scattering of newer "Gaplants": the latter seem especially vicious. But in space, most of the deployments are near Riah....

... Test Blue, the Black Otters, the Killers, the Immortal Fourth (sans South, of course). Big names, moved into the area a few at a time.

"ALICE," you ask, prompting the AI to reappear.

"Yes?"

"How many of these units were transferred prior to our release of the intel on Lieutenant Marseille's kidnapping?"

There's a pause as ALICE flickers, looking over the data with a frown. "Approximately sixty percent of the total forces deployed to that sector, and three of every four pilots there with Ace status, were deployed prior to the kidnapping."

Tell her to analyze the positions of the units stationed there and what were the excuses they used to put them in position.
It's obvious that they want to have an assault force ready to deploy against Riah, but we may be able to get data on where exactly they intend to attack and we may get more proof if we know the "Official" reason they're ststioned there.
>>
>>36046678

South isn't a member of Titans, nor is he a member of that team. He'd have no intel on their current deployments.
>>
>>36046553
>Give ALICE an order before heading up to the meeting with Karen
"The Slave Wraith team we met was also deployed in space, but closer to our area than Riah. Rather close to Luna II as well. Far flung though it may be, it's still an important Federation holdout, so it's rather strange that they're deployed in such a manner considering their track record of being given high-risk, isolated missions. Mind keeping watch for any changes in their deployment too?"
>>
>>36046678
This.
>>
>>36046678
>Garden of Thorns

Clehna never got back with us on that. So the trackers were either discovered, it's still in transit, or she's dead.
>>
>>36046553
This can't be just a coincidence. We should discuss this with our team. Have ALICE dig out more information about the deployed forces, as well as the captured politicians.

It's unlikely that moderates are involved. It's a ploy to have the more extremist elements take over, and then all the Titans have to do is wait for them to fuck up. Then they can be entirely justified in conquering Riah under the pretense or "peacekeeping".

That, or they plan to ram it into Axis.
>>
>>36046867
Yeah, definitely seems like we may have been played by Jamitov. I hope that's not the case, but we have to consider the possibility.
>>
>>36046867
Riah isn't a single colony, its a colony cluster, so ramming all of it seems sorta unlikely.
>>
>>36046867
Considering I suspect the Zekes are planning to ram Axis into earth that would be somewhat ironic.
>>
>>36046948
Panini won't ram his Space Fort (NO NEWTYPES ALLOWED) into Earth. More likely to see him conquer the Moon first THEN head for Earth. Axis is not alone also. There's several large objects trailing it. Which would mean they're *big* objects.

Oh shit, did Panini hijack Phobos and Deimos?
>>
>>36046553
"Couple of things I want you to do with that," you tell ALICE. "First, look into the reasons for their deployments, and keep tabs on Slave Wraith. I find it odd they'd be out here instead of at Riah. Then, I'd like you to go over any telemetry we've received from the Pathfinder funnel we sent out of La Vie en Rose. See if that's led to anything we could distract Titans with."

ALICE nods. "I'll have that for you straight away."

You then tap Carya on her shoulder and motion for her to follow you. Along the way to the ready room, you re-unite with Haman's group, and eventually bump into Emma's team.

Finally, once you've all taken your seats, Karen clears her throat.

"So, I see we have some guests," she begins. "Care to introduce us?"

You nod. "These are Diana, Cynthia, and Marida." Each girl nods in turn. "They're Newtype sisters from Mars."

"Cloned," Cynthia adds.

Karen cocks her head in curiosity. "Interesting... so has Dominic talked to you already?"

Marida nods. "He has."

"He also let us sleep with him last night!" Diana adds helpfully, only to see Karen's jaw hang open in shock.

We don't have to worry about Phobos and Deimos. Bernini crashed them into Mars to kickstart the terraforming process by adding volatiles and increasing albedo. No, it was confirmed by long-distance telemetry performed with "the largest MPIWS Anaheim has". Well, technically we know that Phobos and Deimos are gone and Mars' albedo has greatly increased. After shooting a wordless glance at Diana, who playfully sticks her tongue out at you, you take a second to get your story straight.

"They were having a nightmare," you tell Karen.

"Uh huh. All three of them were having *A* nightmare?"

"Actually," you reply, "yes. That's actually possible for Newtypes, and it's damned unpleasant for them when it happens."

"Really?" Karen presses, now somewhat less suspicious and more curious.

"I figured having them nearby would help," you continue. "So I let them sleep under the comforter on our bed, to see if I could protect them while they slept."

"That... actually makes some sense," Artesia muses. "I used to have bad nightmares too, until... well, until I started rooming next to Dominic's quarters. Haven't had one since."

"A Hollow Man?" you ask quietly. Artesia looks surprised at you as she nods.

"You know it?"

"We've met," Haman scowls.

Emma, who's been looking back and forth in confusion, finally shrugs. "If it's a problem, you could put the triplets in one of your spare rooms," she suggests. "That way they'd be nearby."

You nod. "That was something I'd considered... with your permission, ma'am."

Phobos and Deimos have indeed been crashed into Mars, in chunks, to reduce albedo. Meaning the surface now retains more heat from the sun. This is gradually assisting in warming the planet as part of a concerted terraforming effort.

"Riah's been under scrutiny since Lieutenant Marseille's kidnapping," Roberto adds aloud, half to himself. "Add the fact that Titans mismanaged the initial response, and you've got a powder keg."

"I've heard their mobile armors have been buzzing Titans' ships," Apolly muses. "That true?"

Karen shrugs. "I don't have any official reports on that, but we should expect Riah to take up an aggressively defensive posture in the next few days."

"Meaning they want to drive the Federation back through positioning," Haman interprets. "Makes sense. It'd be what I'd do in their position, though from here it seems foolish."

They're sending us over there as a distraction. One of ours was kidnapped, and now that we're there it'll look like either we're there to investigate personally, or as damage-control from the Titans. Possibly both. Which means the local Riah people will monitor us more closely, probably with some news reporters and stuff.

So we'll have less leeway to do our thing, will be under constant watch from both the media and the Titans, and in case we fuck up they can just set the remaining forces to kill us.

We better work something about that Garden of Thorns as well. We'll need something as leverage against Titans and to boost the populace's opinion of us.

"ALICE?" you ask. "What've you got so far?"

ALICE reappears on a nearby screen, looking apologetic. "Not much, Dominic. The explanations for movements prior to the kidnapping in Londenion are flimsy, but not flimsy enough to validate any action."

"Prior to the kidnapping?" Karen asks you.

You nod. "I noticed some buildup of Titans forces near Riah prior to the event that supposedly triggered their response."

"You think that Titans started this whole thing as a pretense for aggressive action?" Karen presses, quickly catching on.

You shrug. "Can't prove it, but one of our officers was in on the plan, and the troop movements are suspect."

"So," Haman asks aloud. "I suppose the question is whether we want to try and work on any other leads, or move to Riah. Try and stop whatever it is Titans tries to do when they eventually decide they're ready to do it."

"We'd be freer on our own," Catrina points out.

Rossweisse seems to disagree. "Riah won't cooperate forever."

Ilia nods to herself. "And when they decide to defy Titans openly..."

ALICE frowns, and her body shimmers. "It has been moving through legitimate channels. It seems the Remnants have not made a bid for the material yet."

You frown. "So there's really no good excuse not to follow orders from Riddick?"

Karen shakes her head. "Seems that way, Dom."

Orion drives aren't the end-all of rocket technology. They have their uses, but for the average ship they are severely over-powered and far too difficult to maintain. They also use dangerous and highly regulated fuel, being as they are powered by nuclear bombs. If you have working fusion power, for most purposes it's more effective to use conventional nuclear thermal engines, using the heat of the fusion reactor to transform a supply of hydrogen propellant into plasma. It's not as high thrust, but it has equivalent or superior specific impulse and is much more practical to implement on a wide scale. That's why ships in Gundam use them.

I'm surprised the tech for Orion Drives isn't more widespread in Gundam is all. Sure, it's catastrophically lethal for planetary operations, but in space? It's ideal.

Wait a second, only large planetoid bodies are fitted with them? Well, we know what Panini is going to use. He doesn't even need to build a planet killer particle cannon, he already has one on the ass-end of his Doom Fortress. Just fire the thrusters, turn the thing around, and fry your enemy with X-Rays.

>>36048689
September 13th, UC 0084. You've gathered in the ready room to discuss an emergency that's arisen in the Libot colony: a child was killed in an accident involving a Titans Barzam. This has spawned massive unrest that so far has lasted three full days. The Titans fleet has been ordered by Jamitov Hymem to maintain their positions while a team is sent to get the situation at Libot under control.

"I don't like it," Haman mutters darkly. "What did they mean, 'pacify'?"

"And why order us to stay here?" Catrina adds. "The orders were EXPLICIT that we weren't to move."

"Whatever they're up to, they don't want us to interfere," Emma concludes.

Karen frowns angrily. "Which implies they're doing something we'd probably..."

"Ma'am!" Catharine's voice reports over the intercom. "We have a message from the Republic... it's from Cima Garahau!"

You and your Captain exchange a glance. "Put her through," Karen orders.

On screen, Cima's usually cool and almost psychopathically detached demeanor is gone. "Dominic, I need you to go to Libot. Right now."

"You're going to need..." Karen starts, before Cima cuts her off.

"You don't understand! We intercepted a message that they were going to pump sleeping gas into the colony!"

You level a gaze at her. "Sleeping gas? What's really got your feathers rustled?"

She takes a second to compose herself. "When my unit was sent to gas a colony back in the war, they told us it was sleeping gas, too... it was a nerve agent."

"And you think Titans is using a similar tactic," Karen concludes. "ALICE?"

"Already processing," ALICE replies. "Projected likelihood of nerve gas deployment, sixty percent. If a rookie team is being sent, seventy percent."

"Is it a rookie team?" you ask.

Cima shakes her head. "I don't know them. They're called 'Slave Wraith', according to the communiques."

Like I said, it's overkill for most purposes. You only really need it on the very largest vehicles. Such as mobile asteroid fortresses. The one saving grace is that Axis's thrusters don't have a long range when used as guns. It would make approaching it a nightmare, though.

>>
>>36048963
That good let's do that!
>>
>>36048898
Alright, then, looks like our fears were justified. But why bring us here? Are the Titans going to try to blame this on us somehow? Are they expecting us to rush in to stop it, and use us as scapegoats when they release it from a different source? We would be rogue agents with a grudge against Riah for targeting our own, after all.
>>
>>36048963
The question will be though will the suits be able to last against what the titans will throw at them which will be a lot.
>>
>>36048898
"Well, there you have it," Audrey tells you. "They're sending a disposable team of enslaved criminals to do their dirty work. Then they'll probably turn them into scapegoats and have them killed."

You shut your eyes. Yes, that seems like something Titans would do... to you, at least. But there's always a chance you're giving them too much credit, and that they're neither as clever nor as brutal as you seem to be thinking.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Rosse asks you.

September 14th, UC 0084.

You are Christina MacKenzie, EFSF retired. It's been years since the war ended, so why are people still fighting like this? The streets have practically been aflame with angry rioters and protestors for the better part of the week, all over an accident that killed a kid who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

As you near the front door to your apartment, holding a bag of groceries in one arm as you fish for your keys, you can hear them shouting.

It's at that moment where the hair starts to stand up on the back of your neck. Funny how the skills and senses you hone as a pilot never really go away.

Someone, or something, is watching you. And you don't like it.

Our chances for getting out of this without ANY hit to our reputation is really, really low. The Titans placed us out of the way for a reason. To pin the blame on us most probably. We're an incredibly unpredictable unit with very predictable patterns - we go out of our way to take jobs to limit civilian casualties. So, with a bit of spin and clever placement of expended gas canisters, we'll take the fall.

Plus, when the Purus make their debut on the field in the Tusche Schwarz, they can label us as rogue and collaborating with the enemy. Even more ammo for them.

On the other hand, we have a reputation for limiting casualties. So it's going to be hard to seriously convince people that we decided to commit mass murder all of a sudden. Especially since we're trying to warn the Riah Defense Force and have Cima's testimony that we were going in based on a tip-off. And we can always release the details about Slave Wraith if we need to put the focus back on the rest of the Titans.

Just GMs variant.
>>
You know what I find most amusing? The Titans will wonder how the hell we managed to acquire the info that the colony was to be gassed. They'll probably kill us just for that alone.
>>
>>36050155

really, after this. we're effectively divorced from titans.
>>
>>36050172
Yep. The only real question at this point is how much shooting our departure will involve.
>>
>>36050172
We were already on shaky ground. I still want to stay on if we can to kill the organization from the inside. Pull a Papsmere and pop Titans Hymen.
>>
>>36050172
No, let's see where this is going first.
>>
>>36050172
True. But hey, you get the kids, you get the sweet ride.

The only thing you're not getting in this divorce is Jamitov's dog. And I'm sure you could probably find a way to get that, too.
>>
>>36050201
Yes this.
>>
>>36050217
You know, if we make a grand speech at some point, we can intone for all Newtypes to make their way to us. We'll offer Sanctuary on the Valhalla.
>>
>>36050217
I don't particularly want to bring Bask with us, though.
>>
>>36050203
>Jamitov's dog
Yazan?
>>
>>36050258
That would be Riddick.
>>
>>36050257
He be good for fight Mars Zeon and Jupiter.
>>
>>36050286
Our crew is three-fourths Republic Zeon. I think he'd kill everyone on the ship if he could.
>>
>>36050311
It's been suggested we send him and the diehard anti-spacenoid camp in Titans to attack Mars Zeon to get them out of our hair.
>>
>>36050331
Yup let's do that!
>>
>>36050217
Honest question: How do the Titan's still have political support? From what I understand they're almost comically unpopular with basically everyone, which means that self serving politicians should be competing with each other to offer asinine and ineffective plans to reign them in, with the occasional idiot who wants some sort of ludicrous overkill.
>>
>>36050413
to late for that, the beast has been unleashed and can no longer be stopped only put down
>>
>>36050217
Can you run a thread today or sometime before Friday? I'm dieing to see this clusterfuck play out.
>>
>>36050413
War take and take, tall only your dead (inside or outside) or hateful... and have nothing so nothing else matters?
>>
>>36050413
Not comically unpopular. Not yet, anyway. So far, they've managed to balance the harshness of their methods with the results they've attained well enough to keep a reasonable amount of popular support. Just a few years ago there was a war that killed nearly half the human species, when you've got that in recent memory you're willing to put up with a lot to keep it from happening again. People complain, but ultimately they're in the stage where they're rather keep out of the Titans' way then risk what happens without them. This is where that ends. After today, the Titans will have finally overstepped their reach and turned the people against them. Once you start doing the same things the Zabis did, you've lost any good will you might have had. And in their attempts to cling to power, they'll just do worse and worse things, turning opinion against them even more. The Titans are done for. We just have to keep them from causing too much damage in the mean time.
