I sincerely hope we can ara ara, this time. As nice as Makoto is, I wanna pump some time into improving our spy mother.

I kinda wamt to know if there's a way to cure her leg so she can become a Rider.

Either that or her Lockseed's Armor gives her strenght-augmenting Power Armor and all her finishers are kicks.
Bonus points if she looks like Rider 1, complete with Kickass scarf.

At 6 threads. Well, that's not too surprising.
>>

>>Either that or her Lockseed's Armor gives her strenght-augmenting Power Armor and all her finishers are kicks.
I'd rather have a suit that specializes in ranged attacks and fighting without moving about too much.
>>
>>35975580
I don't mind the fanfare all that much. It IS true, and our quest runner ain't so bad.
>>
>>35975545
There is a Kamen Rider V1 Lockseed, so we can give her the first Rider's armor. In theory, anyway, I doubt we'll get the Legend Rider Lockseeds. They are of dubious canonicity.

>>35975589
So Kachidoki, then?
>>
>>35975316
Hey, DJ Sagara?
Is there any chance of one of the Seven Legendary Riders appearing?
I kinda want to see Makoto get her ass kicked by Kamen Rider 1 and then watch as he teaches her how to become a great warrior of Justice before disappearing again.

There's always those crossover movies...
>>
>>35975684

I'd rather Faiz's cast shows up, since Yggdrasil is so similar to Smart Brain in most regards. Or Agito, to watch Ryouma blow his top at belt induced evolution that he had nothing to do with
>>
>>35975589
>>35975613
Yeah, but the image of the MILF using an armor resembling that of the oldest Rider is just too amusing, and it'd be even better if people confuse her for the original and believe the rumors and tales are true.
And then Takeshi Hongo comes to Zawame to investigate the strange rumors of Riders fighting each other

>Recap:
You are Makoto Kinushima, Armored Rider Raid, and yesterday was a very strange day. Still recovering from your injuries to the Green Rider in the Forest, you performed spectacularly despite them on your first day at your job at Charmant. The owner, Patissier Alfonzo, was disappointed to hear that you needed to go down to part-time work due to your responsibility as an Armored Rider.

After work, you went to visit your mother, Erina Kinushima, at work at Yggdrasil Corp, as well as spend some time checking on Hase. Meeting up with a diehard Raid Wild fan at the receptionist's desk, your spirits were lightened a bit before being brought right back down to earth by seeing Hase in a quarantine room, comatose and looking to be in mortal danger. Now finding him completely out of commission, you cement your resolve to completely wipe out the Forest and its danger to the residents of Zawame City. Conferring with your mother, you decide to propose an alliance to Team Gaim and its respective Armored Rider.

The Alliance proposal isn't going so well, when Gaim's wrapped up in its own political struggle facing off against a looming massive alliance against Baron and its lackeys. Kouta Kazuraba, returning from his hiatus and allied with Gaim, seems happy to meet you for the first time, but after hearing the tales and pleas of help from you and Honda, the current leader of Raid Wild, he proposes that the Green Rider was the one that critically damaged Ryoji Hase, not an Inves as previously thought...

Things are looking to be changing quick.

>Choice in next post.

First to five, or highest number of responses within 10 minutes.
If a skill check is required, the choice will be selected first, and then the skill check will be conducted afterwards with best of five rolls of 1d20.
Getting a 20 at any time in the skill check results in a critical success and overrides all other responses. Getting a 1 at any time results in a critical failure, and is treated the same. If there is a crit success and crit failure, they cancel each other out and the remaining rolls are judged.

>PLAYER CHANGE: ERINA KINUSHIMA

You are Erina Kinushima, and today is a good day. At least, y'know, as good of a day as it can be when the Executive Chairwoman is still around. And not de-- I MEAN. Not doing other things far elsewhere.

Mako-chi visited you last night, after spending some time with the new patient in the Medical wing, Ryoji Hase. She looked extremely distraught about this entire deal, but with the advice you offered, she seemed to be doing better. At least, from the last time you saw her. Now, however, it seems that you're the one with worry.

If Hase, his infection, and Mako-chi's care for him are this tied to her Beat Riding... not to mention Chairwoman Naruya's seeming glee for the success of the Beat Riding culture turning into exploitation for money. None of this is sitting right with you, and as a powerful figure in Yggdrasil in your own right, it may fall to you to find out more, and see if there's anything to be done.

You spin slowly in your chair at your desk, as you think...

It's been mentioned before that Erina is actually friends with Takatora, or at least as much friends as Mr. Hawk-Tiger is with anyone. I think we can afford a conversation with him about the Drivers. It's no secret that our daughter is one of the Armored Riders, so he shouldn't find anything suspicious about our interest.

Takatora Kureshima... yes, if anyone's a good source to know more about the Beat Riding and the tech that is getting inserted into the fights, he's the best one. You order yourself a couple cups of coffee - one black with a couple sugars, the other with plenty of cream but no sugar at all - and bring them with you on your quest to the R&D Department.

>SCENE: RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

The journey to Taka-chan's office is arduous, and your leg is feeling weak by the time you're knocking on the office door. It's clear enough that he's surprised by your appearance - you didn't even call ahead! - but the very faint hint of a smile that graces the corner of his lips relieves you instantly of any worry. He opens the door for you...

>TAKATORA: "Erina. A surprise to see you, what brings you?"
>ERINA: "Hoi, Taka-chan. Just thought I'd drop by, bring you some pick-me-up juice!"

The blush that paints his cheeks is positively adorable, as he wheels on his heel to face away and stride back to his chair. A little faster than when he came to open the door. And was he covering his eyes?

>ERINA: "Ara ara~ Taka-chan, something wrong?"

He quickly takes a seat, shaking off the blush as best as he can while you sit across from him and picking up the black coffee with sugar.

>TAKATORA: "Erina, we're at work..."
>ERINA: "Kay..."
>TAKATORA: "On the clock..."
>ERINA: "Kay..."
>TAKATORA: "Stop calling me that name!!"
>ERINA: *maniacal laughter*
>TAKATORA: *Sigh* "...so what is it that you need, Erina?"

>ERINA: "So, uh, I'm woefully uninformed about this whole Riding thing, and now that it's become such a thing for Yggdrasil, uh... mind running through it with me?"

You offer a sheepish grin and little laugh, and Takatora sighs a bit. Takes a sip, reclines in his chair, and considers the question.

>TAKATORA: "Lockseeds are, well... harvested, you could say. It's not a manmade device, which helps cut costs and production values. They come from a Forest called Helheim, behind the portals the Lockseeds summon. Hand-in-hand with Inves."
>TAKATORA: "As for the Drivers, they're meant for the securing and resistance to INves and Lockseeds themselves. Inves are powerful if not kept in check, and the Drivers are intended to resist the Inves going out of control."

>ERINA: "Are the Inves that much of a threat?"
>TAKATORA: "Yes. As you surely have seen, the more powerful Inves can easily break out, sometimes even with all the normal precautions in place. Hence, the Riders..."

You get the sense that Takatora's not telling the entire truth...

Slightly shorter than Makoto, both because of actual height and the fact that walking with the cane leaves her a bit stooped. Professional suit jacket on top. Tends to wear knee-length skirt rather than pants because it means the brace doesn't bunch up the fabric beneath and get uncomfortable.

No need to tell that to everyone.
Sure, he knows this already, but he doesn't know we know.
The best way to act here is to look like a clueless and worried mother who noticed some weird bruises on her daughter after she got back from dancing and playing those Inves Game things.
We are just so Worried! What did our daughter get herself in? Is it dangerous? Is there any way we can help her?

You lean forward in the seat, steepling your hands together by the fingertips.

>ERINA: "Taka-chan, I--"
>TAKATORA: "Erina."
>ERINA: *SIGH* "Takatora-/san/, I'm asking because I'm worried. If these Drivers are intended to resist the Inves, then why are they being marketed and used for fights between people? And why isn't this stopped?"
>TAKATORA: "As far as I know, Sid has tried to stop this by moderating the pre-existing fights to utilize no combat, and instead be measured by races..."

Takatora's looking down at his coffee, and you know that he's not telling the full truth still. You press further, scooting closer to his desk and resting your elbows against the desk.

>ERINA: "...My daughter's involved in these games, Taka-san. She's come home with bruises and injuries. I don't know if she's a full-fledged Rider or just involved in the Games on the side, but this makes me extremely concerned. Is this dangerous for her? Is there any way we can help her? What if Micchy-san was involved in this too--?"

Takatora nearly slumps against the backing of his chair, sighing loudly. He stares at his coffee again, then back at you. You're not sure if it's frustration, pity or understanding you see in his eyes.

>TAKATORA: "Look, Erina, I get your concern. And I have my own concerns as well. But I'm not the one in full charge of this project. The Chairwoman's the one that's been pushing this further, and all we can do is follow her orders. The charge of passion in your voice catches Takatora off guard, startling him as he stares at you. The Kinushima spirit's catching fire, and the stonewalling that he's giving you will be broken through by any means necessary.

To overcome all odds at any cost, no exceptions. The Kinushima way.

>ERINA: "Takatora, your brother's involved in Beat Riding. You know this?"
>TAKATORA: "...I... I am aware."
>ERINA: "Then you should know how much I am concerned about this. Put yourself in my position, as it's not that dissimilar from yours - do you want to leave Mitsuzane in the dark about the dangers of what could happen if he's not careful? About how dangerous the Inves can be? About not abusing any power he could gain?"
>TAKATORA: "..."
>ERINA: "Come on, Taka-chan. We've known each other for years, you know how I operate. If you're gonna stand in my way, I'm going to find ways to help my daughter, and anyone else who gets involved."

He sighs and puts his coffee down, sitting up once more.

>TAKATORA: "Listen, Erina, this Rabbit Hole is deep and dark. It's full of terror, danger, and I don't know if you'll be able to stand up against all of it. Joke unintended."

Cripple jokes. Funny. Not the time.

>TAKATORA: "This... is far more important than just the Inves in this city. If the experiments aren't conducted to figure out about the power of those wearing the Drivers, we're going to doom our world. And I'm not joking. So I ask once more."

>TAKATORA: "Are you going to be able to withstand the terrors of war?"

I mostly like the armor designs, personally. The only really bad ones, in my opinion, are Banana, Kiwi and Pineapple. And only one of those is a standard form instead of a situational one. Kaito was damn lucky to get the Lemon Energy Lockseed.

Hell, I've seen some Power Rangers monsters that looked less pointlessly spiky than this thing.

I'd be okay with that, if we ditch the bow and get a better color scheme.
>>
>>35979151
>>35979292
It's orange.... reddish orange...

So, it looks to be based on an Orange Dwarf Dragonfruit instead of a normal dragonfruit like ours.

I may be biased, but like ours better.
>>

I have to agree on perfering ours than that official one
>>
>>35979415

Ah, Melon did just fine until he got ran over by sentiments during Melonbowl.

>>35979422

We wouldn't look like that outside of the chest, the head is always modeled after the baseline form. In our case, as long as it's a fresh Genesis Driver, the head/mask should be far more similar to what we have right now if Shin Zangetsu is any indication.
>>
>>35979457
I like both for different reasons, mostly cosmetic.

I wasn't aware there were different varieties of dragonfruit, though. I'm glad, makes ours a bit more unique. It's also appropriate, when you consider the Melon Lock Seeds. Normal is a honeydew, while Melon Energy is a cantaloupe.
>>
>>35979457
It's not bias, my friend. That's called good taste.
Ornate armor is great, but my inner armor geek is frothing with barely repressed Rage.

Speaking of the cape thing...
>>
>>35979630
>Yes, but can we agree that the chest/shoulder/everything but the head armor looks cool?
Actually, yeah.
This is a Tokusatsu, silly looking suits are to be expected. Encouraged, even.

My biggest problem with the armor is the color scheme and the silly looking bow.
even the cape can look good.
I think all it needs is a new helmet and maybe redesign the right shoulder so the... whatever those things sticking out of it are called... are smaller, or at least face inwards instead of jutting outwards.
>>
>>35979709
Huh. It actually looks better than the first pic suggested. Maybe if it were longer...
Yeah, longer and more reminiscent of wings would be perfect.
>>
>>35979750

I reckon the color is mostly offensive because of the helmet, but I can dig all of those other things. And yeah, that kind of armor would look best with a sword of sorts due to the attempt at building a regal look for the suit overall. Maybe that'll be our version's innate weapon as opposed to the bow?

At least, I think there were one or two Energy Arms with innate weapons as opposed to purely the bow.
>>
>>35979750
We're likely to get one of those bows, actually. By the end of the series almost everyone had upgraded to Energy Lockseeds or better in order to keep up with the rising power levels. And the Sonic Arrow is a standard weapon for Energy Lockseeds, they all have it instead of a custom weapon (with one exception, but Matsubokkuri Energy is of dubious canon status) . Don't worry, in practice they actually turn out pretty cool. Fight scenes with them tend to be pretty interesting.
>>
>>35979701
That Aarara Snake is too adorable.
>>
>>35979750

At least the bows double as bladed weapons, but I agree that they look dumb. Swords superior.
>>
>>35979750
It helps to remember that Ryoma is a huge dork. The silly quote that the driver says when we transform? They do that because he thought it would be neat. So Dragon Energy looking all spiky and dumb makes sense. It looks that way because he's trying to be dark and edgy now that he's a cyborg.
>>
>>35979588
I was personally thinking something along the lines of Hankouteki("defiance") Arms as our super mode's name. Given that we're likely to be much less accepting of Sagara's bullshit than Kouta would be, that seems like a good equivalent to "Triumphant Arms".[/soiler]
>>
>>35979701
That's adorable!
>>
>>35979980

Iunno, assuming we go by the idea that all Rider shows take place in the same world, we could probably achieve that same thing with Agito. Humanity's own self-driven evolution.
>>
>>35979588
What if we put on of those Determination Arms into a juice drive?
>>
>>35980068
You can't. Kachidoki opens downward, Genesis Drivers only work on lockseeds that open from the inside out.

>PLAYER CHANGE: MAKOTO KINUSHIMA

You are Makoto Kinushima once more, and you're - for once - silent. Kouta Kazuraba's given a suggestion that Ryoji Hase's been attacked not by the wild INves, but the Green Rider in the Forest. You don't know the likelihood of this, but this has only fueled your desire to destroy the forest and all that reside in it. In your mind, that Rider is no better than the bloody monsters that consume the twisted fruit of the Forest.

Kouta's spinning an Orange Lockseed on his finger, which momentarily breaks your focus. Letting your curiosity get the better of you, you don't hesitate to inquire:

>MAKOTO: "Uh, where'd you get that Lockseed? You're back in the Beat Rider circles again?"
>KOUTA: "What, this? Oh yeah, uh, I kinda inherited it, you could say. It helps me with being this team's main Armored Rider - Armored Rider Gaimu!"

He does a thumbs up and a smile, but while you can tell it's genuine, it doesn't cheer you up as much as you like. Sure, he's Armored Rider Gaim, and there's another identity to solidify the roster Your primary goal is to ally with Kouta and appeal to him to work together with you on eliminating the threat of the Forest, but you also know he's involved in the fights between teams...

>CHOICE
[ ] Focus more on the threat to the city
[ ] Focus more on fighting back against Baron's Alliance

[ ] Other (write in the tactic)

Verbal accompaniments to the choices are welcomed and encouraged.

It's alright. Good luck with that post.

I think the chatter slowed down a little due to NaNoWriMo stuff.
>>
>>35981170

Are there Rider shows other than Gaim sharing their universes with this one, like in the Gaim movie where the Faiz cast shows up (out of suit, even)?

Basically, are we going by "Decade's horseshit merged all the worlds and all new Rider shows take place in that one" as per Rider canon if you include movies, "Neo-Heisei is self-contained compared to pre-Decade but all shares the same world" or "Gaim and nothing else"?
>>
>>35981377
I think it's Gaim and nothing else. From Wizard on, Riders only share the same world in crosover movies. Otherwise, they're seperate.
>>
>>35981293
The Nintendo Direct probably had something to do with it too. Me posting all of that Duke stuff certainly helped keep the chatter up last time.
>>
>>35981534

Yes, but here is my counter argument.

Wizard is a pile of shit, putrid trash only fit to wipe my ass with, and directly contradicts earlier established show canon like Double and OOOs sharing a universe at the very least.

It was also written by a yes-man who wants nothing more than to emulate Inoue's style, which he considers to be the epitome of Rider, and most likely wrote those final few episodes purely so that they could jam Decade into more crossover movies.

Wizzles can suck my dick, it is easily the worst Rider show I've seen.

I'll admit I'm a little salty, as I hadn't considered the implications of those god-awful and absolutely terrible few "extended" episodes, but I'm going to assume they're non-canon as they don't tie in to Gaim's TV episodes anyway.
>>
>>35981614
Not the TV show, but they're canon to the crossover movie. That's how Haruto recognizes Kouta.
>>
>>35981614
The extended episodes is basically Decade and Wizard visits World of Wizard feat. Kamen Rider Gaim.
>>
>>35981725

The Sengoku one where all Riders were some faction's ace-in-the-hole knights? Which ends with Micchy acquiring the Blood Orange Lock Seed which we then promptly never see again despite having the power to hop dimensions on demand like it's Decade-in-a-padlock?
>>
>MAKOTO: "So, uh, Armored Rider Gaim. Yeah? Or do you just want to be called Kouta?"
>KOUTA: "Just Kouta's fine. I ain't got any beef with you anyways, especially if you're coming here with the intention for peace rather than war."
>MAKOTO: "Heh, that's good to know. I'm wondering, however, if you'd be interested in collaborating on taking on whoever did this. And, y'know, wouldn't hurt if Gaim and Raid Wild team up in the face of Baron."

Mai's now looking to get in the conversation, as the four of you sit down at the lunch counter in the garage.

>MAKOTO: "How about a loose alliance? We help you against Baron if there are no other threats and YOU help us when you can. It should work, unless Baron starts timing his attacks with the forest's dimensional shenanigans, and if he does then we have bigger problems anyway."
>KOUTA: "...to be honest, I wouldn't mind. Getting more practice with the Driver and such would be good, for future fights. And you and I both know that stunt Sid pulled won't last forever."

He does have a point, and you both look to Mai and Honda. While Mai's listening intently, Honda's elsewhere... he's on his phone, looking a bit panicked.

>HONDA: "Wait, what the fu-- you said who's challening who?! ... alright, hold on."

He puts his hand over the mic and looks over to you and Kouta.

>HONDA: "Y'all might want to hear about this... apparently there's a new Rider, challenging any and all other Riders to combat. Kaito's already accepted, but he's apparently targeting you!"

You smirk, and you can feel your soul start growing hotter. In the back of your mind, you imagine a chained emerald green dragon, starting to stir and tug at its chains.

You, Armored Rider Raid, the Strongest, will not back down for a direct challenge. Especially if someone's dumb enough to challenge you first for a misguided attempt at claiming power.

>MAKOTO: "I'll be right there. Hoi hoi, Kouta-san, you wanna watch? Get some experience an' all?"

Kouta is hesitant, but your grin borders on highly gleeful at the concept of another fight. You can see a grin forming, before you put a fist out to him.

>MAKOTO: "If ya want, we can fight together, yeah?"
>KOUTA: "...yosha! Let's see what this new rider's got under his sleeve!"

-------------------------------
>SCENE CHANGE: RIVER UNDERPASS
-------------------------------

This river underpass is on the edge of the city, under one of the many bridges that leads into Zawame proper. Typically, if someone wanted to settle a dispute, and dancing didn't cut it, the actual fights were carried out here - away from the sight of the Yggdrasil Tower, away from most of the world, and private.

When you and Kouta drive up, you're surprised to see that there's a crowd already there. The sounds of metal clashing on metal already denote a fight - and as you could guess, Baron's whaling away at another Rider. This one's in green, silver and instead of the rider in the Forest, is covered in spikes and sporting a big red helmet plume.

Was this the new Rider? You could only assume as such, given that the four you knew of didn't match this description. However, he's currently locked in combat with Baron...

You push your way to the edge of the crowd with Kouta, Drivers in close proximity but not equipped yet. Kouta looks confused, however...

>KOUTA: "I...is Baron winning?"

As you watch the fight go on, Kouta seems to be right - Baron's seemed to actually learn how to wield a spear the right way, and is keeping the new Rider away from him enough to not put himself in so much danger. You can't help but feel a little proud, and stupid, that Kaito's gotten at least a couple brain cells together to figure out proper weapon usage.

>MAKOTO: "Kaito, you... Kaito, you figured it out... shiiiiit."

Kaito does indeed look over at you and Kouta as you speak out, looking clearly startled. This is the chance the new Rider takes, as with a combo of blows with his nasty looking swords, he rains pain upon Baron's back. You could swear that the posture and movement style of this new rider is somewhat familiar, further cemented by his voice, but... it can't be...

>???: "Didn't anyone ever teach you that the first thing to learn about fighting is not. To put. Your back. To the enemy?"

Baron stumbles towards you, before returning his gaze to the green and purple rider.

>BARON/KAITO: "It was a momentary distraction. I guarantee, you're in for a world of despair and pain."

He refocuses on the enemy in front of him, and you're left to wonder if it was worth joining in. Only before--

>???'s DRIVER: "DURIAN SQUASH--!"

A glowing green ball of translucent energy is formed between the new Rider's swords, batted directly at Kaito, and without a proper guard, knocks him directly into the river behind the crowd. The crowd parts to watch him go, "ooh"ing and "YOOOOOOOO"ing the demonstration... before the Rider turns to the crowd.

I have an two-pronged suggestion.

Make sure Kouta feels ready to act as back-up. Maybe bring up a thumbs up gesture toward toward our nose a gesture to watch for.

Then I think we could step out, mime holding a bat over our shoulder and mime swinging it. Then we would declare, "Pitcher Wild is up to the plate!"

>KOUTA: "Wait, what?"
>MAKOTO: "Tha's a good friendo, just look for me lookin' like I'm at bat, a'ight?"

With that, you stride out confidently from the crowd, looking the rider directly in the face and smirking.

>MAKOTO: "Patissier? Issat you?"

The Rider's stopped dead cold for a second, before flipping the Lockseed up. The Rider armor dissipates, indeed leaving behind a certain Oren Pierre Alfonzo.

>OREN: "Makoto-chan?"
>MAKOTO: "Heh. What's goin' on, man? So, ah, your belt. Your purpose with that is?"

You crack your neck and stride towards him.

>OREN: "Why, it's to seek the true fights that the Gladiators themselves once enjoyed! That banana man--"
>KAITO: "BARON DA!"
>OREN: "Cool it, second banana, mommy and daddy are having a talk."
>CROWD: "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH"

You can't help but laugh at that, even Kouta joining in. At least Oren has a sense of humor.

>OREN: "But you're the Armored Rider Raid? Interesting. So you think you can ac--"

The anger swells in your chest, flows down to your balled fist, and erupts in a punch aimed directly at his Solar Plexus.

>OREN: "Well then. That answers my question. Why that's good~! That's very good - yes, I like that."

You square off against him, pulling your Driver from your backpack and slamming it on your waist, instantly locking it to your body. Given that Oren's being a touch dramatic, you decide to follow up with your own touch of drama. You look towards Kouta, and your voice rasps a bit - thanks to the bit of bloodlust you're currently dealing with holding back from using immediately.

>MAKOTO: "Don't interfere."
>KOUTA: "Wait, wh-- I thought we just ta--"
>MAKOTO: "Shshhshsh. Shhhhh. Don't spoil the moment."

Kouta's more than confused, but crosses his arms and remains silent. Turning back to Oren, you display your Dragonfruit Lockseed in your hand, shoving it out like a stupid anime hero.

>MAKOTO: "What's the stakes? Lockseeds? Bragging rights?"
>OREN: "Just beat me, and I'll see what we can do~"

The air grows tense... and you hear the sound of an SUV pulling up. The markings seem to denote Yggdrasil, but you see no troopers - rather, a fancy-looking French-American woman with platinum blonde hair, wearing a black plain suit and holding a briefcase, watching from the open door of the car, but making no move to interfere or go to the crowd.

You pocket your Dragonfruit Lockseed, then withdraw the Apple Lockseed you obtained a couple days ago. While it's not a fighting style you're used to, you might as well show off a bit. Shoving it forward for him to see, you ham it up intensely.

>MAKOTO: "This hand of mine burns with a rage unknown to any but the strongest fighters! You dare to stand in the way of me, then I'll hold nothing back!"
>OREN: "Bring it, newbie! I'll show you what a real fight is all about! HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT!"
>A. LOCKSEED: "RINGO!"
>D. LOCKSEED: "DURIAN!"

Both of you click your Lockseeds into place, pushing the shackle into place.

>DRIVERS: "LOCK ON!"

His driver starts playing some form of guitar riff, while yours sounds off with its normal warhorns and techno beat.

>OREN: <HENSHIN!>
>OREN'S DRIVER: "DURIAN ARMS! MISTAAAAAA DANGEROUS!"

A circle portal appears over Oren's head, dropping down a heavily spiked ball of metal pieces of armor, glowing with chartreuse light. It falls onto him, depositing the green and purple armor, and the armor unfolds to deposit the helmet and pauldrons. Two sawblades manifest in his hands, and he calls out.

>OREN: "Now, welcome to my pageant of righteous and beautiful destruction!"

No, too pretentious. Besides, Oren isn't evil. Maybe save that one for later, though. Alright, then, something straight forward and punny.

Short, succinct, not too pretentious. Though we should translate it to "Who the hell do you think I am". The character speaks Japanese, we don't.

Technically, these two should go together, since they are a Gurren Lagann style quote for a Gattai/Powerup sequence
>>
>>35985235
I personally feel it's too long. Can we trim it down to just one of the sentences? Maybe alternate them as we go. So this time it'll just be "My roar of anger shakes the galaxy! Rider Raid!"

>>35985215
>[ ] >"Time to bear my Fangs!"

We should just say the whole thing While we transform and pose.

>After transformation: "TIME TO BEAR MY FANGS!"

>If we're REALLY pissed off: "ORE WO DARE DA TO OMOTTE YAGARU!?"

Does this sound alright to everyone?
>>
>>35985454
I still think saying the whole thing is way too long. Can we just go with "My roar of anger shakes the galaxy! Armored Rider Raid!"

>MAKOTO: <HENSHIN!>
>MAKOTO'S DRIVER: "RINGO ARMS! AXE OF FIGHTER!"

You summon the Apple Arms from the portal once more, drop it on yourself, and the transformation begins. But as you feel the armor start to assemble on you, you continue talking.

>MAKOTO: "My roar of anger shakes the heavens! Armored Rider RAID!"

The armor unfolds to reveal your helmet and fully covered form, summoning the Axe to your right hand, and resting the pommel against the ground. You growl as menacingly as you can, drawing yourself to a stance to which you can swing with as much force as you can muster, and you finish your dramatic entrance with...

>MAKOTO: "Time to bare my fangs!"

>???: "HOLD IT!"

Oh God fucking dammit. Your fight boner was throbbing and ready to go. You can even see in your mind's eye, the emerald Dragon in your mind roaring "NOOOOOOOOOOO" as it's forcibly calmed.

The French girl from the Yggdrasil Corporation, the one with the briefcase, has gotten out of the SUV and is walking towards the both of you. Both you and Oren share a look of "really, bitch?" as she approaches, opening her briefcase and withdrawing...

...is that a Suika Lockseed? That one wasn't even supposed to be out yet!

>???: "I am here to issue challenge."
Her Japanese is somewhat rusty, but Oren speaks up in French before you have a chance to respond. She gives him a bemused, but silencing look.

Oh, you better believe I am interested in whether that dragon is important or not.
He doesn't even need to be magical or anything, just our subconscious battle-lust and our warrior nature given shape by our mind, and us defeating it and making its power our own would be a very Jungian metaphor, analogous to us learning to restrain our bloodlust and learning just how much we can trust in our instincts.
That's the kind of thing so manybshows try to do and fail, because it's not really "lol I killed that dragon in mah soul now I'm stronger" but "I learmed thatbthere is a beast inside of me, one I must control lest I hurt others and myself in pointless pursuits".

You sigh, turning to the girl slightly and lowering your weapon. Out of the corner of your visor, you can see Oren lowering his as well. At least there won't be any risk of a backstab for now. You make sure to move back a bit to ensure he's in your cone of vision, and say:

>MAKOTO: "You couldn't have brought this up BEFORE we transformed? Interrupting like this is impolite. Sid did the same thing, I'm starting to think that dramatic timing isn't one of the skills they look for when they hire you Lock Dealers. But okay, fine, I'm listening."

The woman just giggles and smirks.
And opens the Lockseed.

>LOCKSEED: "SUIKA"

The biggest Inves Portal you've seen so far opens behind her, and without even bothering to deal with the holographic ring that had been summoned around you and her, a hulking Monstrosity of an Inves makes its way out. It looks as big as the Berserker Inves that you had run from, except this one's got more than enough hardened surfaces on its exterior.

>???: "If you must know, I am Cecile duMont, Naruya-sama's loyal assistant. I am not a mere Lock Dealer, and if you compare me to those /pigs/ again, I shall not hesitate to come back and show no mercy."

Cecile then walks back towards the crowd, starting to try to back the crowd back away from the fight. Seems you two are going to have to face off against this hulk of a beast...!

Tune: RULES OF NATURE

A rush of ideas, concepts and images rush through your head faster than you could utter a word. Images of you, Oren, and Kouta hauling off against the Inves in many different ways flash, befoer one major one settles to sticking in your mind's eye. Oren goes high at the creature's face, you swing at its legs and arms, and Kouta draws its aggression away from the crowd, Oren and you.

You turn to scream at the crowd to RUN!, but Kouta's one of the few still remaining. You don't even have to give him your signal, for he's already strapped his Driver to his belt and pulling out his Orange Lockseed.

>O. LOCKSEED: "ORENJI!
>KOUTA: <HENSHIN!>
>KOUTA'S DRIVER: "ORENJI ARMS! HANAMICHI ON STAGE!"

Without missing a beat, another portal appears over Kouta, drops an orange-colored ball of Armor on his head, and it unfolds to reveal a helmet with a half-moon shaped crest on it. Blue and orange, it seems to be fairly standard armor, and the sword - shaped like a slice of orange - also seems to be fairly run-of-the-mill. If you didn't know any better, you'd say he could be a protagonist in his own right, with how many tropes he evoked.

Regardless, you shout to him and Oren:

>MAKOTO: "Kouta, pour as much lead into it as you can! Oren, go for the head and upper body, I'll do my best to bring it down from the knees!"
>OREN, KOUTA: "Got it!"

Kubo is the mangaka that wrote Bleach, and is known for the copious amounts of twists and asspulling he does. Only it turns out he foreshadowed one of the biggest twists from the very start, and even outright stated it only we didn't believe him.

In Bleach Quest we went full Kubo difficulty, and the quest started off with so many critfails we skipped most of the manga's plot.

The three of you spring into action, but given you're not used to working together, the teamwork's a little clumsy. Oren tries scrambling for hits on the Inves' head and shoulders, only to find that most of the hits are landing to little success. Kouta's firing as best as he can towards the creature, some shots managing to lodge themselves in the flesh of the Inves and draw its aggro away from you...

You slide a little bit on your knees, swinging your axe as best as you can.
Three of the swings don't catch well on the creature's legs, but you think quick and use the momentum from the bouncing of your weapon off of the hard carapace to hack at the inside bend of the knee. This one lodges deeply into its hamstrings, making it cry out in pain and distracting it from the other Riders attacking its front.

Oren manages to get a few good slashes at its eyes and shoulders, and Kouta seems to be able to defend himself against the wild slashes and swipes that the monster is making. And so far, the fight has taken a turn for you...

>MAKOTO: "We need to disable it if we have any hope of beating this fucker down!"
>KOUTA: "I'm on it!"

Miraculously, his sword and saber connect at the hilts, forming some kind of double-ended weapon that quite frankly, looks WAY too impractical to be really considered for lon-- oh wait, was he spinning the weapon like a badass? Huh. He kinda was lookin' pretty well off for himself. If you had to fight him later, chances are you'd be facing off against a challenging opponent.

Before you can feel the heat coming off of the Inves spike dramatically, like you were directly laying on hot coals. Even with the protection from the Armored Rider's suit, you and Oren jump off of the Inves, as you see its carapace start to glow with internal heat. Large parts of the chitinous shell start to fall off and reveal ... is that exposed muscle tissue? Fucking really?! You can't help but recoil a bit as you consider that these Inves do share some similarities with actual earth creatures. But that thought goes out the window as the final pieces of the carapace fall off, molten hot and distorting the air around it. Clouds of steam are coming off of the monster now, and while its mass has shrunk sizeably due to the carapace taking up most of its mass, it's still clearly a formidable size.

The fact that it dashes into the water doesn't help either. The entire riverbank is quickly filled with steam from the river and the Inves... now was the time to think.

[ ] Use Kouta and Oren to fire energy into the river to flush out the monster
[ ] Wade into the river yourself to fight the monster

Well, I'm sure that we shouldn't rush in and fight it. We aren't Monster Huntering our way out of anything that I can see.

I can't think of anything beyond using our new found allies to chase the thing out of water.

Swap to Dragonfruit, charge up a Sparking, and throw it in. Our finishers in that form tend to involve fire, let's keep it from cooling down.

I don't mean to cut this short, guys, but seeing as both Lori and I have to get up early tomorrow, would it be okay if we paused here and continued this next week? Using the same choices here.

I mean, I'd rather not, but you do you, DJ.

Thanks for being understanding guys, I appreciate it. I'm going to hold off on a preview for next episode, in the interest of planning and suspense, but if you'd like to ask either Lori (one of our resident drawfags) or I a question regarding the game so far, the world or anything while the threads aren't running, the best way to contact us is either via Twitter:

>@DJ_Sagara_TG (QM)
>@DJ_Glory_TG (Artfag)

We'll try to get back to you asap, and we're more than willing to chat up about rider related things.

In the meantime, good night everyone! Thanks for enjoying the thread!
