Welcome to Banished Quest!
You take the role of a young mage labeled a criminal by his people and cast out into the wider world. In the last thread you cast spells on a blanket, chatted with companions, and faced moral dillemas.

“Guards!” The Shah's voice is hoarse as he shouts, a finger pointed at you accusingly. “Arrest this man! He's one of the aghtak!” The guards share a glance, one of them shaking his head. Before either can speak the Shah once again raises his voice. “What are you waiting for?! I gave you an order! A direct order!”

One of the guards, you recognize their voice as the one who initially addressed you when you came charging down the hall, speaks up. He's careful to keep his tone neutral and nonthreatening, though the effect is lessened by the mask he wears depicting a horned lion. “Padishah-” That's an awfully presumptuous title. Historically, the title Padishah was only given to those rulers who had accomplished something of great import during their reign; conquered a swathe of territory or vastly improved the infrastructure of the realm. “-I think you ought to try to relax. This man and his-” He pauses, glancing briefly at Fulvia. “-servant have saved your life.”

Kadir is silent for a time, simply taking slow, ragged breaths while glancing between his two guards, Fulvia, and yourself. He doesn't quite seem sure what to make of the situation. Eventually, he attempts to rise to his feet, but can't seem to quite get his feet under him. His guards stand and approach, each taking one arm and hauling him to his feet. You likewise stand, and Fulvia follows your lead.

This entire experience seems oddly surreal. You're saving the life of a man you hate, who not only ruined your reputation but threw you out of your home and sentenced you to wander the wilds for the rest of your days. Not moments ago he was screaming for your arrest. The tense silence is finally broken when Kadir speaks. “Why did you save my life? I've done you no favors and I expected none from you.”

You sigh, reaching up to scratch the back of your head uncomfortably. “If I'm being perfectly honest, I don't really know. You're an incompetent bastard and perhaps the man I hate most in the world-” The Shah opens his mouth to speak but you press on before he can get a word in. “-but you are still the Shah; ultimately I'd rather have you rule as a puppet of your advisors than put your sister into power. The last thing this country needs is to be destabilized by some ideologue.”

The Shah shakes off his guards, apparently having found his feet. He pulls himself up to his full height, he's about as tall as you are but much meeker. Frankly, he couldn't intimidate his way out of a moth eaten cloth sack. “That is the most backhanded, insulting compliment I've ever been paid. You know, it's comments like that which got you banished in the first place. You always had to go insulting whomever offended you.”

You smirk. “I suppose when you've lived in an echo chamber your entire life facts would be insulting, wouldn't they?” You soften the comment only slightly by channeling a touch of water magic, healing the wound on his chest. At your level of expertise, it's a simple task and you barely notice the vys expenditure. “However, I recognize the truth in your words. I'm incapable of holding my tongue. It's fortunate then that I've just saved your life-” You pause, letting that sink in for a moment. “-or perhaps my fate would lie with the executioner's block.”

The Shah rolls his head back melodramatically and sighs. “Yes, had you not saved my life. As it stands it would hardly be appropriate to execute you.” He rolls his head forward once more, facing you. “Just, give me a moment. I need some time to collect my thoughts. It's not every day a man returns from the dead, and I think I'm allowed a moment's rest.”
(1/2)
>>
You can hardly blame him, Fulvia's technique tends to take a lot out of someone. You certainly took a day to relax after Fulvia brought you back from the brink of death. You bow low to the Shah, reaching into your cloak as you do so. When you right yourself, you hold in your hand the Shah's signet ring. “Very well, Shah Kadir-” He scowls just slightly at the title. “-but first, a gift.” You hold out the ring, and one of his guards steps forward to retrieve it. The guard exams it for a moment before passing it to the Shah himself. “A ring I retrieved from your father. Before I decimated the pirates by detonating their gunpowder stores. Unfortunately, he lacked the various other symbols of office.”

The Shah examines the ring for a moment, expression softening. After a time, he slides it onto his finger. “A tragic loss, those artifacts have been in my family since before the Fall. Better lose than in the hands of a pirate, I suppose.” The man suddenly seems very tired, and with a wave of his hand he dismisses you. “Leave me. When I'm ready to discuss-” He seems to struggle with the words. In the end, he manages to chock them out. “-your reward, I'll send a messenger.”

>Actually you really think discussing your reward now would be for the best.
>You don't intend on staying for long, no reward is necessary.
>He may simply owe you a favor, you intend to leave soon.
>Leaving you alone is reward enough.

>>35908520
More like a construct designed to shut down other vys users.
>>
>>35908537
>What about draining their very soul?

I've wondered about that. I've been thinking about learning how to do that to others by learning/creating some sort of soul related metamagic, but the only thing I can think of is studying how we do it to ourselves during enchanting. Maybe by having SK monitor us or something, though I really don't know.
>>
>>35908537
It literally makes anyone pass out. Warriors, vatis, small children, it's sucks them dry and then looks for more
>>
>>35908124
Have we meditated on Prof's arm before to try and determine exactly how it functions?
>>
>>35908537
Then it'd need to be able to resist magic. <Element>+Contain would do it for most offensive abilities, I suppose.
>>
>>35908571
We have yet to do so. Though I wonder if it would be helpful to tell him to do so?
>>
>>35908582
This is what I mean, if we get into making constructs I'd be more interested in making ones geared to combat other vatis than anything else. An effective way to do that could be to give it a whole bunch of elemental defense and a primary form of attack aimed at crippling their vys reserves, with the drained vys feeding back into it's resistances.

Obviously this is me just brainstorming, no idea how viable that'd be in practice
>>
>>35908561
Easy.

Get some helpless animals and splice their souls together with what we did during the finalization process of enchanting, just rip it apart and impose it into them.

>inb4 horrible horrible things
>>
>>35908651
Oh what about some kind of tazer, but it drains Vys instead of shocking you.
>>
>>35908673
Speed/Paralysis/Leech/Ranged?
>>
>>35908651
We'd need to learn Vys, and probably a Target rune or something, else it'd just drain vys from the construct.
>>
>>35908600
I think Prof has been mediating on his own arm, I can't remember where I read that though.

But with all our knowledge of enchanting and stuff, we might be able to get an inkling in how it actually functions/how to build more.
>>
I can't handle all this science.
>>
>>35908701
Maybe it's as simple as Animate, with Earth+Create+Sustain to have it repair itself, with a shitload of Heat or Fire runes to produce the lava.
>>
>>35908651
Something like that anti-mage construct that almost killed us in the mine? That's probably a good idea.
>>
>>35908751
I think it's a mix of enchanting and spirit fuckery, since he had that thing with the arm hovering around him while he was meditating.
>>
>>35908771
Oh, right. Maybe the spirit is needed to link the soul in the arm and Profectus'. Or it's entirely a spirit thing with no enchanting, since it'd be hard to have runes inscribed anywhere on it.
>>
>>35908666

Might be worth metal magic/mental defense runes first, I don't like the idea of building a terrifying mage-killer construct and losing control of it.
>>
We could make some really, really OP weapons with Fire + Large.
In fact, we could create grenades of a kind by inscribing Fire + Large on the inside of a container, and Fire + Contain on the outside, then destroying the Contain when we need to use it.

You boy briefly, as does Fulvia, and then make your way out. The guards escort your as far as the door but, fortunately, don't deign to follow you all the way to your rooms. You're not being detained, as far as you can tell. Maybe this will actually work out for the best?

That hopeful thought in mind you begin to trek towards the gardens. As you're passing the hallway which leads to you and your companions' rooms you turn to Fulvia and clap her companionably on the shoulder. “You did well today, Fulvia. I knew I could rely on you.”

Without her projection, it's hard to get an idea of her reaction. However, her tone is certainly swollen with pride when she responds. “I'm merely glad I could be of service. Am I dismissed?”

You nod. “I need to retrieve some things from the carriage, feel free to do as you please.” She bows to you just slightly and then turns sharply, marching off down the hall towards the party's rooms. You're glad she seems to be acting friendly towards you once again. It's much preferable to the cold treatment she's been giving you since you stumbled upon that chamber locked away within her mind.

Once Fulvia's left you to your own devices you resume your journey to the gardens. It doesn't take you long, they're fairly close to the party's rooms. You make your way through the gardens swiftly, finding them unusually empty for this hour of the night, dinner ought to have just finished. You'd expect the monks to congregate here for leisure and socializing.

On the bright side, it means you manage to reach the tunnel down to the fortress without encountering anyone to ask uncomfortable questions. You make your way through the winding tunnels quickly and climb up to the fortress above, finding the sitting room empty as always. From there, it's a simple task to make your way to the inn where your carriage is being kept.
(1/2)
>>
>>35908921
Time rune, I guess. But we could instead have the Fire rune on a bit of paper inside a jar or something with Contain on it.
>>
You stand outside of the inn, the lights inside casting a warm glow over the street. Music drifts languidly from the entrance, a somber tune played on the oud. You've got to admit, you're dreading what you might find waiting for you in the stables. You can only hope and pray that little brat hasn't run off with all your money and worldly possessions. If he'd done that, you'd have to hunt him to the ends of the Earth. It would really take away from the various other task you need to accomplish in the near future.

You stride forward, suppressing your hesitance. You bypass the inn, instead looping around to the back. When you round the corner you see your carriage sitting there, exactly as you left it. The stableboy is fast asleep in a stool near-by, his back leaned against the wooden wall of the stables. You step quietly up to the carriage and use a simple spell to unlock the door from the inside, it takes some grasping since you can't really see the lock directly but you manage. That done, you slip inside and whip off your cloak.

Much to your surprise tentacles burst forth, dozens of them. Before your very eyes Ricky stars dragging item after item, six or seven at a time, into your cloak. It's like some sort of twisted magic trick. When he's thrown every easily graspable item into the cloak he reaches a handful of tentacles around the massive pyramid of gold stacked up on top of the table in the center of the carriage compartment and scoops it all into the cloak in one go, the cacophony of coins clinking against coins a symphony to your ears.
(2/3)
>>
>>35908824
He never got around to pumping his brain full of vys to remember shit did he
>>
Once you've emptied the carriage of your valuables, you slip out and close the door behind you. The stableboy, surely deep in a opium-induced coma, hasn't awoken from the noise. A relief, as you've no doubt seeing a tentacles spewing out of a man's cloak would be rather traumatizing for most normal people.

Hey Soma, is it possible to meditate during Sex?
>>
>>35909702
Let's experiment.
>>
I kinda like our repertoire:

WATER, which goes well (thematically) with NATURE, which goes well with EARTH, and from earth comes FIRE, which tempers earth to METAL, from which we can make ENCHANTMENTS.

It's a well balanced, logical and thematical set. Well done boys!

Your possessions reclaimed, you take a moment to consider your next course of action. There's a plethora of things you need to get around to doing, but to start with you think you'll start working towards a level of proficiency in Nature magic that will allow you to better sense the world around you. The ability seems useful to an extreme degree, and vital for a number of techniques you've been meaning to perfect. You also need to contact Kaur and see about learning that meditation technique you saw her using during the Siege! game you officiated. She owes you one.

You make your way back to the fortress and into the tunnels. It isn't long before you're emerging into the lush gardens. Night's fallen well and truly, and through the rounded skylight carved into the ceiling of the cavern you can see the stars twinkling above. You spy the Hawk, watching over the world below with his sharp eyes. Next to him, you see the Dancer, her arms stretched above her head as she gyrates her hips. You were required to learn a fair bit about astrology by your Master, who put some stock into the omens to be divined by the stars. You've given it much in the way of credit, personally.

You can spy a campfire in the distance, a number of monks outlined around it. The rest of the gardens appear as dark and vaguely foreboding, but the illumination afforded by fireflies makes it seem more whimsical than eerie. You pick your way across the rough path towards the fireplace for a short while, but then break off into the underbrush. You walk into the gardens until you lose sight of the glow of the fire behind you, and then find a nice, flat rock to sit down on. You assume a meditative pose and slip into your trance.

(1/2)
>>
Compared to most of your experience meditating, you find nature to be absolutely piss easy. Just being surrounded by nature, and focus on the sounds of the bugs and the animals around you. The wind rustling the trees. The feel of the life around you you're able to make a break through in what seems like no time at all.

It's primarily due to your expertise in Water magic. You can sense the blood flowing through the animals, the sap filling the trees, the moisture in the leaves. Every living being has water within it, and you're able to feel every living being as a result. You realize that Nature magic isn't so dissimilar, it's essentially feeling the life inside of something without using the crutch of water within their system. You're quickly able to distinguish living creatures not only by the moisture within their bodies, but simply by their status as living creatures.
>Vys Pool: (34/34)
>Congratulations! You're now a Novice rank Nature Vatis!

Your eyes snap open. It seems as though barely any time at all has passed, but peering up through the treetops you're able determine by the position of the moon that roughly an hour has passed. Perhaps two. Still, considering that you usually need to spend hours upon hours meditating to make any sort of break through, that's blindingly fast.

Probably not, but you could try it. Just focusing on the concept of nature. That carries a malus (-4), and you'll be getting a -2 from successive meditations, but you get a +10 from being a vatis and your level in water magic. You'll still probably pass a DC 15 with a +4 mod.

You push yourself to your feet and make your way back to the path. It takes some wandering, as you're fairly deep into the gardens, but they simply aren't large enough to truly get lost in. You find the path simply enough and make your way towards the bright glowing flame of the fire in the distance. You pass by the collection of monks sitting and chatting by the fire, waving in a friendly enough manner. You note that Brother Aziz is among the gathered monks, and he returns your gesture.

You slip into the halls of the temple and navigate the various twist and turns to the hallway where your room lies. As you grow nearer, you begin to notice the scent of smoke hangs heavy in the air. As you finally come into sight of your door you see smoke filtering out of the cracks between the door and the frame, seems your dragon might have gotten a little anxious without your presence.

With a heavy sigh you step up to the door. You cautiously test the handle, finding it far too hot to touch. However, your new level of expertise in fire magic provides you a solution. You condense water from the air around you and condense it to just barely above freezing, then let it splash over the lock. Immediately a burst of steam fills the hall, mingling with the smoke and filling the air with a vicious hiss. However, it does its job. When you reach for the handle next you find it a chilled enough to let you pull open the door.

As soon as you do you're forced to duck under the cloud of smoke that floods out of the opening. You think your dragon might have set your bedding on fire. You're about to dive into the billowing smoke to extinguish the blaze when you feel yourself bowled over by some sort of creature. Just being in contact with it seems to burn. You feel claws dig into your shoulders, and leather wings wrap around your torso. As the creature's head nuzzles affectionately against your cheek, you realize you're being hugged by a dragon.

As cute as this is, you really need to extinguish that fire. You push gently at your dragon's underside and try to roll it off of you, but can't quite manage it. You transmit thoughts of displeasure and annoyance, but it just purrs in response. Just as you're about to give up any hope of ever getting out from under the creature, you feel it being pulled away from you. It hisses, writhing in Chryssa's grasp. It whips around to bite her but she hardly seems to mind, she simply sets it down next to her.

You'd thank her, but you've got things to do. You spring to your feet as quickly as you can manage. You hold your breath, but the smoke stings your eyes and you're forced to blink through tears in your search for the origin of the blaze. It's with some worry that you realize the fire is all around you, it must have spread to your desk. With a wave of your hand, you extinguish the blaze. However, the smoke is still an issue, and you beat a hasty retreat out of the room to allow it to clear.
>Vys Pool: (33/35)

You double over and grip your shoulders once you're out of the flames, a coughing fit overcoming you. You must've inhaled more smoke than you'd thought, because it stretches for several minutes while Chryssa absentmindedly plays with your dragon behind you. She darts her hand forward and the dragon takes a snap at it, only for her to retract her hand just before it can get its jaws around her. You pick up a vague sense of annoyance in addition to amusement and competitiveness from your dragon, so at least it seems to be enjoying itself while you hack up a lung.

(2/3)
>>
This would be a really weird scene for someone to stumble upon. You doubled over coughing, while a horned woman plays with a dragon and smoke pours out of your room in the background. Once you've recovered from your coughing pit you turn to face Chrys and your dragon, wiping your mouth on your sleeve. What started off as a simple game seems to have turned into a pseudo-wrestling match, although there's really no contest. Chrys is easily stronger than an infant dragon.

As much as you know you probably should be mad at your dragon, you simply can't manage it. Not for any significant period of time at least. It might have burned down your room, but only because it missed you. Plus, it was so affectionate when you got back, and besides; dragons will be dragons. They hatch out of the egg as Master Fire vatis. You can hardly blame it for doing what its instincts likely dictate.

You step forward and crouch down next to Chrys and the dragon. You seriously need to get Fulvia to take a look at this thing and figure out if it's a boy or a girl, because it's awkward to think of it as a 'thing' when it's clearly sentient. You're brought back to the matter at hand by the dragon chirping at you, apparently having decided to stop its wrestling match with Chrys, though it still has a wing shoved into her face and a claw hooked into the fabric of her shawl. You're apparently more worthy of its attention.

You transmit generally negative emotions in regard to its burning down of your room, and to make sure it gets the point you focus on the image of your flaming bedding. “That was bad. Bad.” You focus on the concept as you say the words. “You can't burn down anything you please.”

Your dragon lowers its head, climbing off of Chrys as you scold it. You feel a little guilty, and so soften the blow by focusing on the way it greeted you, with affection and excitement. At the same time, you send it generally positive emotions. Happiness, relief, and a touch of excitement. “Good. I'm glad you missed me, but you need to learn to control yourself, and not burn down my stuff.” You reach out with a hand wreathed in flames and pet the top of its head, scratching behind one of its several sets of horns. It seems to enjoy it when you scratch the scales at the base, so you do so until the smoke clears.
(1/?)
>>
You stand, after a moment, and pat your thigh. At the same time you focus on the image of the dragon following you into the room. As you begin to walk, it follows. You can't be certain if this is simply due to parental attachment or the image you sent it, but hopefully it's learning. You send it generally warm, positive feelings regardless. Praising it for following you. Chrys follows you, and as you take a seat on the ashen remains of your bed she breaks the silence. “I like this creature.”

This creature is currently climbing onto the stone pedestal of your bed to curl up behind you. “Well I'm glad to hear that, I'm pretty fond of it too. You certainly seem to get along fairly well with it.”

She shrugs. “It is much like an infant guar in manner, though larger and more capable. As a girl, I used to spend a significant amount of time amongst the herders, learning their trade. Before I showed exceptional aptitude in my father's profession, that is to say hunting, most thought my future lied among the itinerant guarherders.” She pauses, wandering over to the remnants of your desk chair and testing its burned out husk. At the slightest of pressure it collapses into a pile of burnt timber. Chrys changes the subject. “Do you have any plans for the evening? Have you eaten?”

Right, food. That most basic of requirements for a living being. You ate earlier, so you're not particularly hungry. You'll snack on some rations later. “I was actually about to meditate on Nature magic. I'll probably just snack on something from my cloak later, or eat breakfast in the morning when it's served, or something.” You shrug.

Chrys clears her throat, a touch of color bleeding into her cheeks. “Would you mind if I joined you? Two minds dedicated to a task ought to perform better than one.”
(2/4)
>>
You shrug your shoulders. “Feel free, though there isn't much of a task to perform in this stone room. I was just going to rely on my understanding of Water magic and magic in general to advance my limited understanding of Nature magic.”

She takes a seat on the ash-covered stone platform next to you, though your dragon interposes its head between the two of you pointedly. Apparently it doesn't like the idea of you getting distracted and forgetting about its presence. You reach down and scratch at the base of its horns, which seems to settle it down. Once your dragon is calmed, you fold your legs beneath yourself and close your eyes, slipping easily into a meditative trance as Chrys does the same next to you.

You're able to sense Chrys next to you in a vague sort of way, but your dragon is unmistakable. Even without using your understanding of water magic as a crutch, it's just so obviously alive that you'd need to try not to notice it if you wanted to get a good idea of the rest of your surroundings. It's simply overpowering. You find it intensely odd, especially considering it's only an infant. You suppose it has something to do with its vys pool, or perhaps it's simply a trait dragons possess. You're not sure.

Regardless, you once more make quick progress. Even without anything significant to meditate on, you find the world around you slowly fading into sharper focus. You're able to more easily pick out the form of Chrys next to you despite the overbearing presence of your dragon. You can, in a strange sort of way, feel her consciousness; it's as if you're forming the same connection the brooches afford you without the need for the brooches. However, when you attempt to communicate with her, you find yourself incapable of sending anything through the connection. It simply serves as an indicator that something conscious is near-by.
>Vys Pool: (36/36)
>Congratulations! You're now an Apprentice Nature Vatis!
(3/4)
>>
After a time your eyes snap open, and you find yourself staring out into your smoke stained, scorched room. With the giant pile of gold in the center, and the significantly smaller pile of gold wrapped in a blanket in the corner. As you gently push your way to your feet, careful to avoid waking your sleeping dragon or disturbing the meditating Chrys. As you whip off your cloak and drape it over the unorganized pile, you hear a sharp knock on your door.

So, this temple probably has dozens of vatis that is apprentice or higher in nature, right?
>>
>>35911777
Thank you, Soma, for running!
>sharp knock
It's the police! The Shah's secret police! Coming to fetch us!
When we open the door we should take care so the person can't see the dragon and the ashes.

Soma, in the character sheet the incorporeality potion is still listed with 2 doses, and the Spice is there as well.

Uhm, they are in for a surprise when they use their inner nature eye...

>>

100%definitely
We should put up an illusion and talk outside the door whem we answer the knock though.
I guess the brooches use some sort of mature rune as a base with lots of layers on it
We need to work on mind readin like what Varvar did tho, I expect it's some effect/meta combined with nature and metal.

yes, and we said we'd rather talk to plants in our room
>>

Our cloak is tattered to hell and back right? Could we have asked the janitor to fix it up and possibly increase its length or something?
How big is it actually? Give me some rough measurements
>>
>>35911864
Actually, your cloak seems almost entirely immune to damage. It's got not a single rend in it. Your robes, on the other hand, could use a trip to the seamstress' workshop.

Your cloak is about six feet long and four feet wide. It narrows near the top.
>>
>>35911864
>tattered
what?
>>
>>35911882
Then I'm thinking of our robes. Thank you senpai
>>
>>35911882
You mean a seamstress to make us (put on sunglasses) Master robes? I think we can wait a bit longer and directly get Grandmaster robes. Do the robes have different designs depending on the element, or just on the level?
>>
>>35911919
You already have Master robes, Anon. Also, the robes vary by level only, element doesn't affect the design unless the Vatis gets them custom made. In which case they're free to put any sort of nods towards their element they like.

Grandmaster robes are Purple and Gold, but Grandmasters will often add some sort of new detail for every element they reach Grandmaster in. Say, red designs for reaching Fire GM, or blue for Water. That sorta thing.

The rhynians had an entire society filled with thousands of enchanted objects before they got divine punishment.

>>
>>35914154
Well yeah, it'd be okay if we keep it a secret, I'm just not sure if we can keep these types of secrets from immortals
TL note: "not sure if we can" means pretty damn convinced and paranoid that we absolutely can not because they are closely linked to the fabric of the world.
>>
>>35914113
We could probably get some armor crafted for him or maybe just a helmet so people don't go nuts with questions about him
>>
>>35914195
Remember that most immortals don't give a shit. It was spirits who showed us in the first place.
>>
>>35914154
Fuck that, imagine how much money could be made from an enchanting class.
Also, we owe it to master Karim to teach him enchanting.
>>
>>35914267
Well yeah, neutral/individual spirits probably couldn't care less, but if its actually officially forbidden, then I expect some top dog does give a shit, at least.
>>35914242

>>
>>35914336
Jesus, I doubt anyone is going to give a shit if some mortals start enchanting unless they start a whole fucking empire that is basically a fuck you to the threads of reality, those immortal assholes have better things to do.

>>
I think we can enchant as much as we want but we shouldn't store the items in the cloak or anything related to the void.

Also I want to do this >>35914308 as well, student teaching the teacher would be pretty nice.
>>
>>35914370
Yeah, if Kadir gives us a chance to come back to El-Amin we should go hang out with the master.
Now that we have the ring, the desert mind cleansing machine is on a lower priority.
Also I want to teach it to his little kid apprentice, I want to teach them both at the same time and experience classroom shenanigans between a 500 year old man and his 11(?) year old apprentice.
>>
>>35914417
I really don't want to teach an 11 year old that the skelefucks are going to be watching enchanting
>>
>>35914442
Why not? They don't seem to give a shit.
They might even like him more.
>>
>>35914442
They probably already know and are enjoying it because it makes us 2unpredictable when it comes to dealing with the rest of the void.
>>
>>35914453
Why would that be a good thing?
>>
>>35914242
>>35914336
Not a bad idea. If we get him armor for the rest of his body in a similar style to the head he should not stand out at all. Although he might like additional head protection, too.

>>35914308
>>35914154
I second keeping it secret, at least for now. We are filthy rich. Getting even richer would be nice, but not at the cost of the whole world hunting us down for enchantment knowledge. Imagine the late pirate king and his dozens of high-level vatis or a similar unscrupulous organization trying to torture enchantment out of us. And even friendly potential students would annoy us if there are hundreds of them. We probably don't have to be totally secretive, but we shouldn't shout it out to the world that we know enchanting (like in the samjan superbowl halftime show). Teaching the apprentice is okay.

Yeah nah, maybe teach Master, but ask him to keep it to himself for a hundred or so years, yeah?
Also, just keep even the knowledge that we can do it to Master and the party, I think.
Also, that dragon knight armor is looking more and more tempting, we could cuddle with our dragon and shit too. Maybe just enchanting a one-piece bodysuit would work for cuddle though. Or Fire GM.
Really, I think our enchanting should be used only for big shit. Like, make a single ultimate armor, single great weapons and such, don't waste it on misc stuff, so we minimize the number of times we mess with the universe.

>>35914577
It's almost like you people hate change and progress. What's wrong with altering the universe? It's the first step towards becoming a god, and who doesn't want to do that?
I mean, teach the kid enchanting, and imagine what a great investment that would be, we come back in a few years, the guy is insane and hunted by void entities and other assholes, but is incredibly powerful and knowledgeable, who does he repay by sharing with him ancient secrets and rituals?
That's right, his enchanting teacher Mik, the guy who put him on this path.
Jeez, think before you post people.
>>
>>35914677
>the guy is insane and hunted by void entities and other assholes
>who does he repay
I doubt he'd want to repay us for that though. Also, insane people have a tendency to become megalomaniacs, it seems, and teaching the incredibly talented, young prodigy enchanting sounds too dangerous, especially since Mik is becoming less insane now. He's also insecure and meek as fuck, might take out anger on others when he becomes powerful enough.
There's nothing wrong with becomeing a god, there's everything wrong with being burned out of existence Surya for fucking too much with the world. Which is possible unless we become a god, and even then he can still fuck with our loved ones.
>>
>>35914677
To add on to that, isn't sharing your power with others the very definition of responsibility (I'm not going to check if it's correct)? And what is Mik if not responsible? That's right, an insane asshole.
So instead of sticking to his old habits why not change? Why not share his wealth of knowledge with the people he loves and will return the investment in a few years? Why not make a little money on the side. I mean, the possible consequences aren't THAT dire.
Stop being selfish.
>>
>>35914677
Your post started off great but got worse and worse as it went on.

I say we use enchanting as we please however we please. But keep the knowledge to us and our party. Teach Master if we ever see him again but don't make it a priority. Maybe after we git gud on the way to the Deep Desert. Do not teach the child. Let our Master decide when he's ready. Showing children something like that is just a big nono.

Also stress to our master how much this should stay a secret. Just be sure he doesn't start a class or let the shah know about it.

>>
>>35914967
What's the point of meeting him after we know vys? I mean, the whole point is to learn from the guy. Also, I doubt being quadGM would matter in a fight, the guy is fucking ancient and would rek us if we fought. It's not like we can control when we meet him. Probably.
We'll just have to bond with the guy if we ever meet him. Shouldn't be too hard with Mik's people skills. Probably.

Rostam is an way, WAY more of an asshole than Mik, mate.

except he is insane. And has been insane for quite some time.

Instead of focusing on things like vys right now.
We need to focus on git gud.
We should focus on Metal
learning our effects and meta's *Particularly slow & speed*
Study anatomy
Learning moving meditation - Would be nice to meditate while moving. Could eventually train that into something where we could be training martial arts while meditating.
Practice oud. Cause fucking oud magic.
Read Var var's notes and his manual.
On top of learning everything the haician armor can do, We would learn tips and tricks.
I am certain that var var knows at least 1 lost magic. He may have left us. Or atleast made decent progress towards one.

And I have no idea why people are stuck on the concept of learning time. It is usless. we would need var var's vys pool to see any kind of change.
Vys is extremly useful. We understand how to use vys more effeciently/gather better. Basically having every spell cost less. Our meditations will take much less time if we're low on vys when we start cause we'd draw in vys much faster.
And that's something to learn if we do ever look into gaining time meta.
>>
>>35915110
Didn't he do that so people wouldn't be fucking with time?
>>
>>35915309
Nah, fuck everything you just said.
We should focus on our baby right now.
We should teach him to meditate so he could develop alongside us.
We should teach him water magic so he could catch people expecting him to breath fire with ice spikes out of nowhere.
Also, we should meditate with him on illusions so he can disguise him self as a human.
Imagine
>Mik and the gang walking down the streets Anthus
>Alongside the weird bunch walks a small child looking to be about 5-6
>They enter the incredibly packed market area.
>The child is actually a newborn dragon in a fitting disguise
>He's hungry
>They walk up to guar shop
>Mik looks down at the child to his left to teach him about guar and tell him the story of Al-Gasreed(?)
>The young boy is not there
>He looks up
>People are screaming and running away
>The kid is burning a guar alive and eating his charred corpse
>City guards arrive holding weapons and ready to fire their spells
>Mik walks up to them and tells them
>"sorry about my son, he's knid of a dragon."
