You are Sireyi...but not Valyenya, 22 years old, and still less than a year old; you are...well you don’t truly know what you are, and you have decided to build an army out of the orc and beastmen rabble in the Tribal Lands.

“I want to speak to your chieftain” you say as the orcs approach, you don’t think this will work, but it feels right to try it.

“The only place you’re going” growls one “Is the slave pens”

Ah orcs, so predictable, reliable even that in that without an obvious display of power they will always consider anything smaller than them to be weaker.

You’re on the edge of an orc encampment: there’re perhaps a thousand of the smelly beasts here. The orcs don’t know it yet, but they’re going to be the first recruits in your army, an army that is going to help you kill the Lord of Life that created you.

As the orcs confidently approach you and Sofia, you wonder if you made a mistake. You chose this encampment because the orcs had a larger-than-normal number of goblins to use as spies and saboteurs. You hoped this meant the chieftain was smarter and more subtle; still he could be, whilst his followers are the typical orc rabble. At your side Sofia draws her sword and takes up a stance as the orcs surround you.

“I give you one last chance to surrender” you say, before the lead orc grabs you by the throat, and tries to pull you towards him. Oh no, that simply won’t do, filth like this doesn’t get to lay hands on you.
>>
You grab his thick wrist in your hand and twist sharply, feeling bone snap under the inhuman pressure you apply. The orc snarls in pain and surprise, but the dumb brute still doesn’t realise its beaten – it brings its sword around in its other hand, in overhead chop.

You simply slap the sword out of its hand and continue to twist and crush its wrist, kicking its legs out from under it; the orc is now on its knees before you, you can see fear in its stupid eyes. Behind you, you hear the ringing sound of swords as Sofia deals with the other five.

“I wonder” you say looking down at the orc “exactly how hard it is to tear an arm off? I mean, the bones break easily but it must take quite a lot of twisting and pulling to truly separate the flesh...let’s find out.”

As the orc in your grip starts howling in pain and fear as you start to test your theory you hear Sofia’s voice at your side “didn’t you promise her you’d try to be diplomatic?”

You look up in surprise, the other five orcs are all dead, and Sofia is wiping blood off her sword as the goblins in the distance flee.

“You killed all of them” you point out “In fact isn’t that the head of one of them on that tree over there?”

“They were trying to kill me” says Sofia “besides, I didn’t torture them. Don’t we need one alive to tell the chief not to takes us lightly?”

You look down at the whimpering orc “no” you say “The goblins can tell the tale” and with a quick burst of lightning, you finish it.

As the two of you enter the camp you see the goblins running ahead, jabbering at the orcs staring curiously at you. The goblins are heading for a large central hut – probably the chieftains hut, the two of you walk slowly towards it as a crowd of curious onlookers gathers.
>>
Eventually a large orc in thick furs and dull black armour emerges, he’s flanked by a bodyguard of a dozen big orcs – much tougher looking than those orcs around him, heavily armoured and carrying giant axes. Three more orcs with no armour or weapons but staffs festooned with fetishes and feathers accompany him.

He stops 20 paces away from you and Sofia, you are in a wide circle of orcs. Sofia has her sword out and whispers to you “Are you sure this is a good idea?”

“Nothing we can’t handle” you whisper back confidently.

He grunts and then says in passable common “The gobbo’s say you kill my guards, why? What you want? Why I not just kill you now?”

“Things have changed” you explain to the orc chieftain “Whilst you might stay as chieftain, from now on, you serve me.”

The orc squints, and shakes its head, as if not believing what you said, or maybe not understanding “Wha?” it grunts.

“You will do as I say” you clarify “or you will suffer the consequences.”

The orc gives a short chuffing laugh and tells his bodyguard in orcish “bring me their heads.”

Three of the large orcs approach you and Sofia.

“Well?” asks Sofia “What’s the plan, I mean, surely we’re not killing all of them, right?” She raises her longsword to fight and you can see by the distant look in her eyes she’s activated her Battle Mastery abilities.

Adding to the bodycount is unnecessary; every orc is a potential soldier after all. Ending this quickly is the best option.

You fly towards the orc chieftain, using your speed to easily evade his bodyguards as Sofia hangs back and watches the orc shamans for you.

As you approach the orc chieftain draws a wicked-looking axe but as he does so you grab his arm, a single touch is all it takes.

You watch the orcs face as he spends a lifetime under your control, learning obedience, learning to fear you, learning that all his physical might is useless against you.

His knees buckle and he collapses, kneeling before you. “What is your will Mistress?” he asks in a subdued voice.

The mass of orcs around simply keep watching, but the bodyguards now surrounding you prepare to attack, and a warning shout from Sofia makes you shoot a glance at the shamans – they’re raise their staffs, green light coalescing around the top of them.

Although the chieftain is under your control, his bodyguards don’t seem aware of it, and the shamans are preparing to attack you with their magic.

As the shamans summon their arcane powers you summon your own and create an anti-magic field around them, causing whatever spells they were preparing to dissipate. At the same time, Sofia comes up to guard your back, fending off the orc bodyguards expertly as you yell at the chieftain “tell them to stand down!”

The orc chieftain rises to his feet and barks orders at his bodyguards and they back off, looking confused.

Around you the other orcs are looking similarly confused, even as the orc shamans walk out of the anti-magic field and raise their staffs.

The orcs around you look confused, uncertain, until the chieftain bellows at them that you are the tribes new god – and that anyone who disagrees should come forth and fight him. No one does.

“Your chieftain serves me” you call out to the orcs in their own language “all of you serve me, you can serve willingly, or as slaves, but doubt my power at your peril!”

The orcs surrounding you appear to accept this, and a few bellows and cheers can be heard from the ground, though most are quiet.

The shamans appear to accept the chieftains proclamation, but from the dark looks they’re giving you, you suspect they are just waiting for the right moment.

“Are you sure that’s enough?” asks Sofia at your back, lowering her sword slowly “I mean, all the orcs saw you do was touch their chief and then he obeyed, you sure you don’t need to do something a little more...ostentatious?”

“The chiefs authority will hold them” you say, though inwardly you’re not sure.

“And those shamans” says Sofia “I think they’re just waiting for a chance to stab you in the back.”

You sigh, even with the chieftain under your thumb the other orcs might still object, as they didn’t see an obvious expression of your power.

You shake your head in frustration and approach one of the chieftains bodyguards, it raises its axe warily and you snatch the oversized weapon from its grip. Raising the axe high overhead for all the orcs to see you grip it in both hands tightly and twist, until the wooden haft snaps in two. As the wood cracks the orcs around you all take a step back. You hand the two pieces back to the scared looking guard and approach the shamans, who are now looking a little less certain of themselves.

“What?” growls the oldest-looking one.

“We need to talk” you say “in private” to the other orcs you say “Go about what you were doing” and then you follow the shamans to their huts, Sofia at your back. The orc crowd disperses.

Once you are all inside the privacy of the shamans hut the oldest-looking one says “What you want to talk about?”

“I want to talk about the Necromancer-Kings” you say “also known as the Lords of Life....”

You don’t tell them the full story of course, they don’t need to know where you and Sofia came from for instance, but you do impress upon them the threat that they – that all the orcs – face and how they’ll need to work with you or else you could all die.

You talk with the shamans into the early evening, and by the time you’re finished they look like they believe you.

“How we fight such a monster?” asks one of the younger shamans.

“I can help you there” you say “I can increase your powers – if you swear loyalty to me.”

The three shamans share looks and then nod, apparently willing to take you at your word.

“We shall swear” says the oldest-looking one “By what name shall we call you, and your...guardian?”

Boost Willpower/Fellowship: The recipient of this gift reduces the cost of increasing Willpower or Fellowship by 1, as long as they are not increasing either past Sireyi’s current total.
Disease Immunity: Immune to non-magical diseases.
Immortality: Recipient no longer ages and cannot die of old-age.
Poison Immunity: Immune to non-magical poisons.
Regeneration (Low): The recipient heals 1 hit point per 6 hours rather than 1day.
Regeneration (Medium): The recipient heals 1 hit point per hour rather than 1day.
Regeneration (High): The recipient heals 1 hit point per 10 minutes rather than 1day.
Regeneration (Full): The recipient heals 1 hit point per minute rather than 1day.
Sorcery: Recipient can learn sorcery, they have Angelic, Storm and Velya-domain themes to their sorcery powers.
Spell Knowledge: You can grant any N-spells you know, allowing the recipient to learn them for 1XP less than normal.
Untarnished: Wounds heal without scarring,
Wings: The recipient of this gift grow angelic, white-feathered wings, just like Sireyi. They are capable of flight but have no innate knowledge of how to do so, and may spend weeks or months learning.

Every full 4XP spent upon gifts from this power permanently raises the recipients loyalty to Sireyi by 1.

What does this cost us?
I'm thinking Boost Willpower to the shamans and Regeneration in some form (Full if it costs us nothing) to the chieftain.
>>
>>35891255
It costs you nothing, all XP costs can be paid by the recipient.

You can (if you want) pay some or all of the XP costs to avoid the target automatically becoming loyal to you - you might do this if you granted Sofia some abilities for example, but there's not any reason to not have that side-effect affect the orcs.

“Our chieftain” says Brakgurn “Is Chief Gurrun Bonesplitter.”

“And I need him to remain chief for now” you say, partly to yourself “I think he would benefit from being able to heal quickly, and you” you indicate the shamans “as well, and we should make your own magic stronger – you’re going to need it.”

“You’re much better with weapons than I am” you say reasonably “I’ll be attending to the magical side of things – it’ll be up to you to whip the orcs into a fighting force.”

“Oh sure” mutters Sofia “just call me Boss Guardian...”

----

You are Ebonsong. You’ve been looking for lairs with your sister and you’ve picked the best one – a big lake in the Tribal Lands. It’s great! There’s the lake itself, of course, rivers going in and out of it, lots of fish to eat and a nearby forest if you wanna build stuff.

The only problem is the trolls that visit the place, Big sister said she’d let you handle it, but you have a nagging feeling that this is a test – like maybe if you can’t beat the trolls yourself, she’ll say you need to pick another lair.

Well, that’s not so bad, the other locations were ok, but this was the best one.

The two of you are descending towards a meadow where a family of fifteen trolls, mostly adults, but three are cubs, are feasting upon several deer they’ve caught. The trolls are looking around as they eat, in case the smell of blood draws other predators, or scavengers.

They’re not looking up though, until your shadows passes over them as you land about 30 paces away in your dragon form.

They all cluster around the deer carcasses, as if afraid you’re here to take them. You can see your big sister but you can feel her presence, high up in the sky, circling.

The trolls remain huddled around their kills urgently discussing this, then one steps forward. It looks big, an adult male (?), maybe the family’s leader?

The troll growls out at you “This is our place, we hunt here”.

“And you can continue to do so” you say “if you agree to my terms, if you do not....” You leave the threat hanging. You wanted to get really specific with the gory descriptions, but big sister said not to.

The troll leader considers this, goes back to its family and you hear them discussing it urgently.

Finally it steps forward again and says “We agree, but no trouble – what of Giants Doorway?”

“What Giants Doorway?” you ask.
>>
The trolls lead you to a large cave going back into a mountain. As you travel you finalise the details: the trolls will come to your lake at least once per week, but not more than once per day to fish. They will wait at least an hour for you to appear before they start fishing, in case you want to talk to them. They will tell you of anything unusual they see on their travels and they will not attack humans or similar creatures unless in self-defence.

In return you agree not to eat any of them. Yuck, that’s gross, why would they think you’d want to eat a troll? Bleh! Then you realise that they meant that you won’t kill any of them. You also agree to tell them about any dragons trying to claim your territory.

Eventually you arrive at this large cave mouth – it’s huge, maybe 50ft tall – well deserving of the name Giants Doorway.

“So this is the Giants Doorway” you say, doing your best to appear unimpressed “so what?”

“No” says the troll leader, Ghwort “Giants Doorway inside, follow.” The troll family waits outside whilst Ghwort heads inside.

As you follow Ghwort in, you ask “So what is this Giants Gateway?”

He thinks this over “Trouble” he says finally “Giants come, take...food, coloured rocks” he pauses then adds with a snarl “take trolls too, then go back through Gateway.”

You follow Ghwort deep into the cave, feels like you’ve been walking deep in for hours, though it might only have been half an hour, then you feel a chilly air current coming your way, and a strange purplish glow.

You and Ghwort round a corner to see a massive glowing purple circle, maybe 40ft across and high, it looks a little like....those gateways big sister can create. It sits in the centre of a big open cave, it’s dark in here but the glow gives enough light to see that there is no one here except you and Ghwort.

The cold breeze is coming from it, and it’s not a good cold either, it’s like the sort of cold that makes you feel scared, sad, like you’ll never be happy again.

“Giants Gateway” says Ghwort, gesturing at the gateway and staring with a mix of hate and fear.

As you look around this cave, you realise that it looks like a lot of this cavern has been carved out, it’s not natural. Indeed half (or more) of this place looks like it’s been cut out, but only in one direction. You explore the place where the rock has been chipped away, what’s that smell?

Your tongue flickers out and you taste the air, there it is again. You feel an unfamiliar hunger building in your stomach, not to eat, but to...own?

You sniff around, following the scent and then licking a part of the wall it appears to coming from. You roll the taste around in your mouth. In the midst of the lichen and taste of grit – yuck! Did you just lick a cave wall? What were you thinking?!

Then you identify it – gold dust.

That might explain what’s going on here. You cast a spell to help you identify the gateway and examine it.

It is indeed an interplanar gateway, though why it has been left open you don’t know. You don’t know the name of the plane it leads to, but your spell appears to be telling you it’s one of darkness, death...and undeath.

You also see that the gateway has several alarm spells on it, and one was just activated by you casting a spell this close to it.

“I think I’ve seen enough” you tell Ghwort “I’ll need to think about this before doing anything, let’s go.”

You stay as calm as you can as the two of you head for the exit, as you walk you send to big sis -Sis you would not believe what’s down here-

-A giant gate?- she asks

-Ha. Ha. And once again, ha- you send back -it’s... and you describe everything you’ve seen, and what you think it might be.

Big sis takes it all in before saying –Ok, get out of there as fast as you can, then we’ll handle it-

You breathe easier now, big sis always knows what she’s doing. As you and Ghwort head back to the entrance you ask him about it.

“How many giants come through?” you ask

He counts up on his fingers, before holding up all ten digits “many” he says.

Ah, ok.... “What sort of Giants?” you ask

“Big, skinny, grey ones” comes the response

“How often?” you ask

Ghwort screws up his face “Dunno how often giants here” he admits “But only come for trolls once every snowseason.”

“You fight then when they come?” you ask carefully, this could be a sore topic after all

Ghwort growls out “Always, but no good, once giant touches, troll skin all gray and troll sleeps.”

“How long has this been happening?” you ask, the answer takes some untangling, but it sounds like 150-200 years.

From what Ghwort tells you the grey giants have been kidnapping trolls for that long, how long they were here before is unknown to him.

Ah its getting lighter, the entrance isn’t too far ahead wait!

It appears as though there’s a pair of giants with grey skin hiding in the darkness of the cave by pretending to be a part of the cave walls, just ahead.

Ghwort doesn’t seem to have noticed them and is continuing forwards.

They're from a land of "darkness, death and undeath" and their touch is potentially transformative; I'd rather not risk Ebonsong's well being by assuming such creatures won't eliminate a potential threat at the earliest opportunity.

You stop, talking first is always the best option – you’ve seen big sister do that a lot. Still just in case...

-Big sis- you send -There’re two giants here between me and the exit, I’m going to find out what they’re here for-

-I’m on my way- comes the short reply. Well that’s settled, everything is going to be fine.

You put out a claw and stop Ghwort “Hello?” you call to the two giants “I’m Ebonsong, what are you doing here?”

The two giants share a look and peel off from the walls, one on either side of the passage way and approach, Ghwort starts growling and flexing his claws.

“We” says one of the giants “are very surprised to see a dragon here, where did you come from?” they both keep walking closer.

“Oh not far” you say, mindful of specifics “Just exploring for new territor-” You’re cut short by one of the giants uttering an exotic arcane word.

Your muscles freeze and you fall limply to the ground, you hear Ghwort roar and the scrabbling of claws on stone as he rushes forth,

Some sort of paralysis spell it feels like, still, you might be a young dragon, but your own magical powers are pretty strong, in seconds your muscles are working and you haul yourself to your feet with a roar.

The two giants stare at you in shock, one has slung an unmoving Ghwort over his shoulder.

“How in the Void did she...” the one holding Ghwort exclaims in shock as the other draws a shortsword with a black blade that drinks in what little light there is into it.

“Doesn’t matter” says the other “If she’s not coming quietly, then the bounty for a dragon-soul will have to do.” He walks towards you, sword in hand.

Both giants are between you and the exit, though you might be able to dodge around them.

You draw in a deep breath and spray black acid all over the approaching giant. He roars in anger and throws his hands up in front of his face, cursing. Then he rushes towards you, bringing his shortsword down hard on your shoulder, cutting deep.

[HP 33/45]

You feel oddly weak, as if the black sword has taken something from you. With a start you realise it felt like it tried to take your life, but your arcane energies protected you somehow.

[AE 68/79]

The other giant drops Ghwort on the ground and draws his own black sword, stepping forward.

You feel...you feel the air rushing around you...

A wall of wind rushes down the tunnel, staggering both of the giants and suddenly big sis is here!

You see big sis hovering next to you, her halo of lightning dancing around her head, lightning crackling around her hands, ready to be unleashed. She looks like the wrath of Heaven.

“Do you mind explaining what you’re doing?” she asks the giants coolly.

You cast your spell and a globe of force surrounds the wounded giant. He slashes at it with his sword to no avail.

Big Sis hurls a bolt of lightning at the other giant and it dances briefly before collapsing. Afterimages of the lightning lighting up the entire cave glow in your eyes.

[Sireyi DE 27/45]

You check on Ghwort and he seems to be breathing.

“What the...?” says big sis, you turn to see your globe of energy filling with black smoke, or maybe shadows, then suddenly it’s gone, along with the giant inside.

“Well that was weird” you say “What were those-” You stop as the unconscious (dead?) giant that big sister dropped climbs to his feet and attempts to grab you. You scamper back out of reach

The giant is moving oddly, as if sick, and its eyes seem oddly blank.

You take a deep breath and channel your arcane energies, breathing acid all over the giant, it doesn’t react to the holes appearing in its flesh, but it does turn and run, as it flees big sisters spell catches it square in the back, turning it into a pile of dust

“Right” says big sis, landing next to you “time to fix those wounds” with a simple touch you feel warmth spreading through you and your wounds close.

Once she’s happy that you’re ok, big sister turn her attentions to Ghwort “huh” she says “looks like paralysis, let’s see...”

With a start, Ghwort wakes up and starts thrashing around, once he realises there’s no giants around, he calms down.

“You back to the entrance” you tell Ghwort “Sis and I got this.” He nods rapidly and heads off.

The two of you head deeper into the tunnel, until finally you arrive at the big cavern with the glowing purple gateway. You don’t see any other giants around.

Big sis whistles, seemingly impressed at the gateway “Yeah, that’s going someplace horrible” she says “can’t leave that here.”

“Sis the alarms spells” you say

“Maybe we could look on the other side” you suggest to your sister “with magic?”

“Sure Ebby” she says “Let’s do that.”

You both cast your spells at the same time and direct your arcane gazes through the portal...

You see a vast space that appears underground, no wait, it’s above ground, except that it’s night, and there’re no stars, or moon. There are lots of levels in this place, with roadways and lots of purple portals. Creatures of all sorts of species, including many you don’t recognise push carts full of all sorts of rocks, metals, and some of coin. Carts go back and forth through the portals, being taken away somewhere shadowy that doesn’t make sense to your sight.

The creatures pushing the carts are wearing chains, and looming over them are those strange grey giants. There must be thousands of slaves there, and hundreds of giants, taking the wealth of nations through those portals.

Then a loud noise sounds and you see a squad of a dozen grey giants heavily armed rushing towards a portal, your portal.

With a gasp you break your scrying spell only to see big sis preparing a spell to destroy the portal.

You watch as your sister cast her spell and the portal fractures, then falls apart.

“But those people...?” you ask. Big sister sighs “I wish we could save everyone” she says, rubbing the top of your head “I’ll ask Isla about that plane – she might be able to tell us how to get back to it, but for now, it’s too dangerous, in fact” she adds “I think this whole cavern should be sealed, just on case.”

“Noo!” you protest, shaking your head, you lead her over to the cut rockface and claw at the wall until she can see the vein of gold there.

“This is why they came” you say “look sis, gold!”

Your sisters eyes widen “Wow” she says, then looks conflicted “But they could still come back, maybe it would be safer...” she bits her lower lip as she thinks.

You are Sireyi, but not Valyenya. It’s been weeks since you and Sofia took over the Whitefeather clan. Weeks in which you’ve been training the orcs hard.

Thanks to Sofia your tiny clan has gone from undisciplined rabble to professional fighting force.

Thanks to you your 3 shamans are stronger, and the chieftain is able to recover quickly from even life-threatening wounds.

With you and Sofia helping in battle, your little clan is far tougher than its size would indicate.

Your next choice of course, is to pick your next target. Close by the Whitefeather clan are the following targets:
>>
Blackfist Orc Clan: 5,000 strong, known for being tough and determined, unwilling to retreat but also stubborn – they used to be a lot bigger but lost a lot of warriors throwing themselves at dwarven fortifications.

Fellbrood Beastman Clan: 3,000 strong. Demon-worshippers, many are said to have demonic heritage. They have a higher number of shamans than other clans and many of their ordinary members have minor sorcerous powers.

Dwarven Town of Hazad Dhum: A small dwarven border town of 2,000 or so, frequently the target of orc and beastmen aggression it has stood for hundreds of years. It is a distant part of the dwarven underground kingdom.

“We need to get the dwarves on our side” you explain to Sofia one evening in the privacy of your own hut the Whitefeathers made for the two of you.

“The dwarves on my world disappeared long before I was born” says Sofia “But weren’t they enemies of orcs?”

You nod “yes, I’ve only met a few, but they hold grudges a long time, and the orcs have been fighting them for thousands of years.”

“Then how...?” Sofia trails off.

“We need everyone” you say, pacing in the tiny hut “To beat the Lord of Life we need everyone, we can’t have petty grudges putting everyone at everyone else’s throat – it’ll win that way.”

“Still not hearing the plan” observes Sofia “They’ll be too focused on old foes to deal with a new one.”

“What if the old foes weren’t there?” you say.

“What?” she replies, squinting at you

“Dwarves have a lot of foes” you say “So if we got rid of some of them, maybe they’d work with us.”

Sofa shrugs “Worth a try I suppose”.

A few days later the two of you are outside the gates of a town surrounded by stone walls.

“I’ve not seen an aboveground dwarven town” you admit “I thought all dwarven settlements were underground.”

“Snik-snak find place” insists the goblin that led you there “Snik-snak knows beardies, this beardy camp”

“Well, either way” you say, setting your shoulders “Let’s go and talk to them, c’mon” you gesture to Sofia. To the goblin you say “Go home Snack, don’t want the dwarves cutting you up.”

“No-no!” agrees Snik-snak “No cuttings of poor Snik-Snak.”

As the goblin scampers off you and Sofia approach the walled town. The gates are closed.

A lone dwarven guard looks down on you from atop the wall, but doesn’t speak.

It's about what we want people to see us as. If we seek to be more than a copy of Sireyi some name and if we are making our self a warlord (we are I think) then something blunt will keep others from over thinking who we are.
>>
“I want to see whoever is in charge” you yell up at the dwarf, when he doesn’t react you cast a Tongues spell and repeat your request. He walks away from the wall.

A half-hour later the gates open and eight dwarves in heavy armour carrying thick shields and heavy axes walk out, form up around you, and escort you into the town without a word.

“Are we really going along with this?” asks Sofia as you walk through the settlement surrounded by armed dwarves.

“We’re in no danger” you reply “If this gets us to their mayor sooner, then so be it.”

The settlement is made all of stone and slate, and all of the buildings here are single story. There’re few dwarves on the streets and you attract a lot of curious gazes, conversations held in low voices cease as you appear.

The dwarves here display a uniformity of clothing: although clothes have different styles a distinctive pattern is stitched into garments, visible on the chest and shoulder – clan markings perhaps?

You are led into an unremarkable building and then down a lot of stairs, through a confusing array of corridors, and eventually to a large hall, where an old-looking dwarf with a black beard and rich looking robes sits on a large stone chair. He is dealing with a long line of petitioners, but your escorts take you right to the front.

He looks at you curiously and then says in thickly accented Common “A strange pair to be this deep in orc lands, who be you, and speak thy business.”

Depends on which definition of the term we're using.

The alliance we're creating will be temporary at best, it's only real purpose is to defeat the lord of life.

Maybe less Fury and more Force. Or Ruthlessness.

The original Sireyi is Mercy, Kindness, the Dove.
We are Certitude, Strictness, the Hawk.

I'll second Hawk as a name.

I presume you mean calling ourselves Hawk, but that's a bit masculine.
>>
“Who I am isn’t that important” you say “You could call me Certitude, or Ruthlessness if you prefer, for I am the Hawk of War, not the Dove of Peace.” Sofia stays silent by your side as you talk, watching the dwarven guards around you.

“Hmph” says the dwarf “Well, Hawk of War, what business have you here?”

“This is a lovely town” you say “I’ve not seen a dwarven town above ground”

“You won’t” says the aged dwarf “In the lands of man, only here in the stronghold of our enemies do we build such places.”

“Why?” you ask

“To draw their wrath” explains the dwarf “Give them places to attack that are traps, lest they dig for us and find our true cities, but I ask again, what brings you here?”

“One of the Necromancer-Kings has awoken” you say “It will seek to control the entire world, sooner or later it will come for us all, I” you continue “Am trying to recruit orcs and beastmen to my banner to fight it, I had hoped the dwarves would oppose it as well.”

“We know of the Shaldur Kayen’s return” says the dwarf. At those words you hear gasps and curses from the line of petitioners.

“You don’t tell us anything we don’t already know,” he continues, a look of disgust on his face “a Kingsmoot is before the Stone right now discussing this, if you have nothing else to say, orc-lover, then go, before I forget our treaty with humans.”

“I know how to fight it” you insist

“As do we” says the dwarf calmly “As Codex Reader I know its methods, now begone.”

“What is happening at the Kingsmoot?” you ask

The dwarfs face contorts in anger and he spits “What always happens” he says “talking, drinking, more talking, little action, it might go on for years this one, with the Shaldur Kayen” again those words elicit curses and expression of outrage from some of the dwarves, he ignores it “returning, they’ll need to decide how they’re to face it, and which foes must come first.”

“You seem angry” you say.

“As Codex Reader I should be there” he says “But someone must remain here, on the accursed surface” he appears to calm down “But enough about that, begone orc-lover.”

“They’re just tools” you say “I have no love for them”

He sneers “And yet to train and nurture them, “yes” he says “We see, wherever there is stone, we see, orc-lover.”

“Then you know how seriously I’m taking this” you say “Tell me which tribes or clans of orcs and beastmen are pressing you most, and I’ll deal with them – add them to my army, direct them away from your holds, but we need to work together.”

“We have no need of you” he says “And there are no *tribes* nor *clans* that threaten us, they all do, you’d need to take over the entire Tribal Lands to ease any pressure on us.”

“I have knowledge of how it will fight” you say “No matter what your Codex tells you, it can’t know what I know.”

“Head-blind human” snorts the dwarf “As Codex Reader, I was there the last time it was defeated, I see through my ancestors eyes, you know nothing!” his voice rises “Now, if you have nothing left to offer, go!”

“I ask to address the Kingsmoot” you say, you’ll take your argument to them, not some dwarf bitter at being left behind.

“Denied” he says, with a smirk “Rockfolk only.”

>Fine (leave)

Swallow your damned pride and let me help you. At least send word to the Kingsmoot of my offer or are you so bitter that you'd deny your people the chance to focus on one problem at a time and pay for victory with their enemy's blood instead of their own?
>>
>>35899006

“How could I become one of the Rockfolk?” you ask “And don’t say it’s impossible.”

“Rock folk are born” says the dwarf, his eyebrows raised “You cannot *become* one, your bones are not of stone, you cannot hear the deepsong, foolishness” he snorts.

“Fine” you say “would the Kingsmoot hear me if I did ease the pressure on the dwarven kingdoms? If I did take care of one of the enemies?”

“Kingdom” says the dwarf “just one, not a fractured and broken people are we, not like humans we do not crumble.”

Something clicks into place as Sofia whispers “one kingdom?” in surprise,

“One kingdom” you say “You’re fighting the Lord of Life right now, aren’t you?”

The dwarf just looks at you, and says “uniting the Tribal Lands, which is what I think you’re talking about, is impossible, the beastfolk and orcs follow dragons and demons and stranger things, they number in the hundreds of thousands, are you proposing to unite them all under your banner? To become some sort of ruler of the Tribal Lands. All the kingdoms of men on this landmass will turn on you, Empress of the Green Tide, is this your plan?”

Sofia goes pale as the implications of you ruling the Tribal Lands sink in, and looks at you with fear and worry in her eyes.

>Yes: if they all threaten you, then they all will be mine.
>No (other plan, what?)
>>
>>35899486
>Yes: if they all threaten you, then they all will be mine.

we should mention our twin i think
>>
>>35899486

>>
>>35899612
I'm fine with telling them about our twin but lets not tell them about how we came to be.

>>
>>35899740
"Oh bee tee dubs, I was like tots made by the lord of light, hope that's not a problem!!!!"
>>
“Yes” you say, as you see Sofia close her eyes tightly and mutter something under her breath “if they all threaten you, then they will all be mine.”

“And how do we know you can accomplish such a weighty goal?” asks the dwarf

“You may know of my twin” you say “Saint Sireyi? She’s a newly empowered Goddess, perhaps as Empress, I’ll be able to keep up with her.”

“We’ll see” says the dwarf “If you can unite a measure of the Tribal Lands under your banner, then the Kingsmoot will hear you.”

As the two of you leave the dwarf town Sofia asks you “Are you serious? How are you going to unite all those tribes under one banner? I mean, some tribes worship dragons and demons – very powerful ones, and even if you do – what then? What will you do as Empress of the Tribal Lands once we defeat the Lord of Life?”

“We will find a way” you say, turning to Sofia and taking her by the shoulders “Please believe me when I say that we *will* find a way, as for afterwards” you add “We’ll figure this out when we get there.”

Sofia looks deep into your eyes as if searching for an answer “I believe you” she says “I don’t know why, but I do.”

As the two of you walk away from the dwarf town Sofia asks “So if you’re the Empress, what am I: General of the Army, chief concubine? What?”

And I’ll end the thread there. Thanks for playing, you’ve been great players today, and thank you for your patience when I had to leave.

Next thread is due in just over 12 hours, I’ll update Twitter 1 hour ahead as per usual.

Most of the planned tasks are done, so next thread I plan on doing end of year social tasks, plus figuring out what magic items you want to build, as well as who is coming into Hell with you.

As always, comments and feedback appreciated.

Well it's unusual of me to leave a thread without an open vote/discussion.

So, what are you going to call yourself?

Name and title

And Sofia?

Sofia

We'll give them something new to worship and rally behind.

Cheers for the thread OP!
>>
>>35900561
How about no.
>>
"The Angel of Death"

"The Blood Princess/Baroness"

I reckon they sound close enough to the titles of their counterparts, and give a slight nod to their origins, while having the added morbid mystique to strike fear into enemies which I'm sure NotSireyi would go for
>>
>>35900887

Hmmm, no, let's not make references to the real ones, please. That's sad and demorallizing.
>>
>>35900887
Those are really bad, anon.
>>
>>35900447
Sireyi Kingslayer because she is Sireyi, but not Valyenya.
>>
and because she wants to kill the necromancer king...
>>
>>35900447
We need more than just The Empress (This isn't 40K) so I suggest we ask Sofia to pick her favorite colour and add that to our title. If we are to give Sofia a title (Knight? Custodian? General?) how about letting her pick our new name, she's the only one who will be using it anyway.
>>
>>35901102
Sofia is title should be The General.
also should we try praying? I want to see what would happen.
>>
>>35901267
>Contact Lord of Life
>Mind-raped back into being a pawn
Yeah, no. Maybe ask our twin about where our paladin abilities actually come from before trying that.
>>
>>35901291
we could try praying to actual gods, not LoL.
>>
>>35901267

Yes. The General Concubine.

it's perfect.
>>
>>35901331
It was better before you ruined it.
>>
>>35901331
The Coneral.
>>
>>35901329
Paladins communicate with their gods when they pray. Due to the way Dark Sireyi was created, it's entirely possible the Lord of Life has taken this role in regards to her.
>>
>>35901401
yeah, but Sireyi was also able to get in contact with Kronig.
>>
>>35901460
When she was serving as a champion of the Horn of Alzurad, an artifact of Konig, and we haven't tried contacting him since.
>>
>>35901484
hmmm, okay that makes sense.

Also, what If we had the orcs and goblins we rule over worship Sireyi? that would give her a boost to her powers, right?
I still want to try praying
>>
>>35901401

That begs the question, how much do gods in this setting know about powers their champions get from them? If Warhawk gets her powers from the LoLz, shouldn't they be able to track her or take those powers away?
>>
>>35901578
are you saying, he wanted us to "escape" his grasp?
>>
>>35901575
A massive one, though we might have to be sneaky about it, to retain devotion to us while still empowering Sireyi. Shouldn't be too hard, since we're a physical duplicate of Sireyi.

Or we could just go the 'twin goddesses' route, wouldn't be too hard.

>>35901578
A lot, we can tell when Isla is about to develop a power and veto it.

It's possible he's just too unaware to realize that he's being used as a power source, due to not being a real god.
>>
>>35901755
>All that repitition
I really need to get some sleep, this shit is embarrassing.
>>

I need to stop giving pally ideas. He already used my idea of were-spiders.

Just got back from work, adding my own two cents.

Dark Sireyi seems like someone who would desire her own, independant source of deific power and execrate anything that made her dependant on another.
