The blue haired girl reaches up behind her head to scratch her hair, even as Kaede closes in on them. Somehow she still hasn’t noticed you.

Just as you’re about to enter the range where you could touch her, Kaede’s hand turns into a fist that only you can see. She pushes her fist at the blue girl, top upward even as she’s smiling at them. She’s clearly trying to tell you something, but you aren’t sure what.

I am have difficulty understanding what it is you are describing us seeing.

You just nod and then you charge forward, Kaede following after you, pistol barking as both of you ready your swords.

While the thing appears to be one of the smarter ones, it is just finishing sorting itself out, so it’s just a little sluggish. This sluggishness is its downfall, as your first sword strike neatly takes out one of its legs, almost immobilizing it. This gives Kaede, who’s first strike lopped off some tentacles, an unmoving target to pour bullets into as you weave in and out of its remaining limbs and claws, each sword stroke removing another, until finally it keels over, coughing the black goo that serves as its blood.

It just grins at you, even as you’re about to administer the coup de grace.

“My master is coming,” it says, right before you cut off its head.

You feel…

You can’t even describe the aura that is coming towards you.

It is hate and loathing and…darkness. All of it directed at you and immensely powerful. So very very powerful.

“John,” Kaede chokes out, already down on her knees even as yours begin to wobble, “We need to get out of here.”
