You are Makoto Kinushima, the aforementioned Armored Rider Raid, with a passionate and nigh indomitable force of will. Together with your rival Kaito Kumon, the newly christened Armored Rider Baron, the both of you ended up in the Forest beyond the Inves Portals after Lock Dealer Sid gave the two of you Lock Vehicles to resolve a fight. You manage to snag one of the fruits of the forest, turning it into a new Lockseed, the Apple Lockseed that grants you higher strength and the usage of a two-handed labrys axe. At the same time, a prowling Inves consumes some of the riper fruit on the trees and transforms into a three-story tall Berserker, which is then quickly dispatched by a green and white armored figure with sword and shield. He accosts you, challenging your purpose and your worth of donning the Sengoku Driver, but you manage to impress him with your raw guts, just enough to avoid death by his blade. Injured, you make your way to a hospital and receive some treatment for your bone bruising, and are sent home.

You are also Erina Kinushima, head financial advisor of Yggdrasil Corporation and effectively single mother of Makoto Kinushima. At a midnight company-wide meeting, the executive chairwoman of Yggdrasil, Naruya Yamauchi, announces that the Driver technology for utilizing the Lockseeds sold for the Inves Game will be put on the market for purchase and utilization, effectively upping the game to potentially dangerous levels. With 10 drivers in each major location for the Inves Game, the face of the culture will change, and Naruya seems to have taken a gleeful investment into it. Considering this revelation, you resolve to monitor the situation. You also meet Mitsuzane Kureshima, younger brother to Takatora Kureshima, and a member of the Beat Rider culture under Team Gaim, and an owner of an A-Class lockseed. Once the meeting is over, you make your way home, where Makoto is awake, and you discuss the situation.

As it happens, even after the ride you went through yesterday, with the Forest and everything, your first day today. The pain in your ribs is still bothering you, but you put on a brave face - patissier Alfonzo isn't going to take kindly to those showing such weakness, you imagine.

After dressing in as decent clothes as you can manage - seems like it's time to do some laundry there, Makoto - you ride your bike down to Charmant. You take pains not to aggravate the bruising on your ribs, and also not to destroy your clothing, so the ride is a bit longer than you anticipated.

And this doesn't seem to please the patissier one bit. It's written on his face as he's waiting outside, arms crossed and a sour expression surrounding him.

Sweet! That color scheme is pretty bright and vibrant. I do have a nit pick to add with the lockseed, but I'll spoiler it.

The color scheme of the lockseed is a bit too similar to the dragonfruit color, so the outline of that dragonfruit looks hard to see.
I think black or a shade of dark green would work to make it pop out.

You keep walking, the rain light enough to not be affecting your mood that much but not light enough to ignore completely. The weather didn't say anything about rain, but at least it feels nice for now... gives you time to think. These last couple of days have been a sudden whirlwind of action for you. It's been hard to catch a break, just to be relaxed for a little while, that you had momentarily forgotten how it feels like. The quiet streets, the soft falling of rain between trees and onto pavement, the sounds of cars driving by and the chirping of birds...

Were it not for the heavy electronic device in your backpack, and its associated Lockseeds, this could be a day you could just take off.

You arrive, finally, at the Yggdrasil tower in the middle of the city. Once you get to the entrance, park your bike and walk in, you notice that this is a very strange looking kind of building - given it's meant to look like a tree from the outside, the building feels unreal to look around from the inside. Indeed it looks business-like, but the glass windows don't do it any justice. You text Raid Wild that you're going to see Hase before you meet up with them.

Decided to try and make a play on the Raid design, so took a few liberties with the base.

It's done in hand so actual detail on the belt and sword got pretty hard simply because it ended up being really tiny.

Receptionist Mayu hands you - more like fumbles in your direction - a ballcap, clearly something of a piece of memorabilia for her, and a golden Sharpie. Quickly you sign the brim of the cap, throwing in a little bit of corny with "For Mayu" on it, and hand it back. Her glee is almost visible, as she clutches the ballcap tightly before resting it gently on her desk.

She eagerly complies, with the promise that once you're done, you come back to her to talk more. Once she's done logging you in as a visitor, she gives you a Visitor's badge, with your name and a QR code on it. You can assume it has some sort of tracking chip or something else between the plastic, but for now you're free to head up, or look around for the most part.

Your visitor badge allows you some form of freedom to move around the office, but you get a very strong sense - judging by the numerous cameras mounted on the walls and the keypads and such that stand between you and specific doors. Thankfully, your common sense leads you via the directions shown on the walls and panels near the elevators and doors. It might seem easy to get lost in here...

Your elevator carriage brings you to the medical floor, laid out like an intensive care hospital. Not much of a waiting room to speak of, but there are some nice chairs and magazines. Enough to keep people not talking for a while.
Another receptionist is at the desk in front, a nurse with a mole above her lip, but she looks frustratingly busy.

You try to get her attention, but she puts a finger up to ask you to wait. A few minutes pass, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and still she's busy.

She finally catches up to you and her eyes seem to be flashing in what you assume to be anger. Seems like she's mad at her self that she didn't catch you in time.

Ryoji Hase, the indomitable Lion of Raid Wild, lies on the bed.

His heartbeat is weak, and erratic.
His skin is paler than ever, his hair starting to fall out.
His veins are black, pushing out from his skin and pulsing.

Somberly, you make your way quietly out of the room, but not before saying:

The nurse is waiting for you once you close the door to his room. You quietly turn ot her, trying to maintain a sense of composure. The light mascara streaks down your cheek don't help with your appearance.

Every time Mrs. Yamauchi's in the room, she always manages to bring a smile to people's faces, but a doubt of worry behind her words.

Currently Baron and Raid are vying for the top slot, but Gaim's steadily climbing the rankings to challenge the two of them. Two things stand out: one, the listing for Ryugen's player (Mitsuzane Kureshima); and two, that the Armored Rider Raid's player (Makoto Kinushima) was not only the same new Rider in the Helheim Forest which you dueled, but she's related to Erina Kinushima, one of your closer associates.

There was more work to be done, and sitting around pondering the Chairwoman's choices wasn't going to get that done. The Professor was not a man that waited for sunrise to begin, after all...

I hope we do. Admittedly, it does seem unlikely that Sagara would give us any power-ups. But there are other sources of power, I'm sure we can find something. Worst case scenario, we take the Kikaider crossover episode as canon and become a super cyborg.

Quickly, you recount the tale of your experience in the Forest. His expression darkens a bit, to a more somber face, and as you go on further, going into the tales about Hase, it becomes an actual frown. You're sure you've never seen someone's lights go out in their eyes so quickly, and so heartbreakingly.

You stop cold in your tracks.

Regardless of whether the wounds on Hase where from Zangetsu or an Inves, the point stands that we need to find a way to contain the breaches between worlds. Parasitic plant spores are a bad thing, it's best to keep them away from humanity. Especially with what they grow into. But let's not talk about that, there are some people here who haven't watched the series and we shouldn't spoil that reveal. It's a nasty one, though.
