"You know, when I was little, I was told of a story of several heroes, from many different nations banding together to protect Flonyard. Were you going to do something like that?"
Huh, forming a crew with every hero in the land? That's something you haven't thought about before.

You are Jack Albator, intrepid seafarer, charming corsair, and part-time ransomer of princesses. And today marks the first time that you've ever captured a princess that you were willing to return without monetary compensation.

Well, there IS monetary compensation involved, you just hadn't discussed that with them yet.

Your party slowly leaves the dark and dank place known as the 'underworld'. Which appears to be a kind of underground cave network that extends under the country.
But that's not important now! What is important is that you got your nation's princess back, and are on the way back home.

What you've also forgotten is how difficult the Princess, Tuile, is to work with when she's inebriated. She's currently riding with Atsuko, and the blonde fox is having a difficult time trying to keep her righted on the saddle as she sways back and forth. Several times Tuile nearly fell all the way off the saddle, almost taking Atsuko with her.

The two bicker and argue most of the way as the rest of your entourage try to tolerate the noisy assault on your ears. Right now, your party is fairly well-balanced; there's Yuuki, the female hero of Bruschetta; Felice, a green-haired female knight from Gallete; Atsuko, a normally cold fox who is currently getting dragged off her ride again; and Princess Tuile, who you're not sure is good for much of anything except drinking and making problems for you.

"S-stop! Stop squirming!" Atsuko yells at Tuile, who is now hanging upside down off the edge of the saddle.

"Um, Hey Jack." Yuuki says, trying to focus on anything except the constant, unending noise.
"Yar, what is it?" You hope it's something good, something that will brighten this otherwise awful day. Week? However long it's been.

"I was thinking about what that guy said." She says, wistfully staring into the horizon. "How many heroes are there right now?"
"Just three I know of, You, me, and the Gallete hero."

"Then... would you want to band together, like in his story?"

>"Sure, but I don't see how that's any different from right now."
>"Gallete's hero is a kid, so it would just be you and me."
>"I don't care. It just sounds like more work to me."

"Sure thing, Lass."
Her beautiful eyes light up.

"Really!?"
"Sure Lass, but I don't see how that's any different from how it is right now."

She looks confused, "What about Gallete's hero? She would join us too, wouldn't she?"
"Oh sure! If she was about two feet taller, and still wasn't scared of firearms, I mean."

Yuuki looks at you with complete confusion.
"..How old is she?"
"'bout eight."

"How does an eight year old get summoned as a hero to protect a country?!"
"Y'know Lass, you keep assuming that the tails have any idea what they're doin'. Frankly I don't know where you got that idea."

You turn your head over to your fearless leader, having to be held up onto the saddle by Atsuko's death grip on her tail. The whole time she's drunkenly singing several different songs at once in a slurred speech that makes her words sound almost alien.

"So as you can see Lass, I agree with you on the merit that if we want proper leadership, we'll have to do it ourselves."
Yuuki exhales in defeat, "So then, what next?"

>"First thing's first: I need a ship of some kind, and I know where to get one."
>"Find more heroes, that's what."

"Well, since yer askin' me. The first thing I would do is get us a ship."
"..Why am I not surprised?" She crosses her arms.

"See Lass, the way I see it, every leader worth their salt has had a ship. Being a captain builds character, it builds the skills needed to command others and to make plans on the fly." You say, with a smile, "Besides, I'm not much of a fan of these big, stupid birds anyway."

"So that's your big plan? Just get a ship?"
"I have a specific type of ship in mind, but I'll let you know what it is when the time comes."

You turn to her, smile still gleaning in the sun. "After that! We need to let the other nations know what we've found so far."

"Oh yeash ,I remember somthin' Jack." Tuile says, still slurring her words while hanging off the saddle, "We're shupposed to have a battle shoon but i don't remember when or withs who. Ahaha it'sh probably not that importantsh."

"Yar, Thanks Princess. You truly make my life worth living."
"Awsh, Hahah, you dun have to say embarashing things like thats."

Your party approaches the castle, several guards run toward your entourage and help the princess back onto the saddle.
That's when you notice that a new carriage seems to be parked outside the castle. This one has the emblem of Gallete across the side, and just as many maids swarming around it. They practically eviscerate the packed luggage on all sides of the caravan as they unpack and unfold.

Except for one thing that they seem to be having problems with. On the back of the carriage is a mighty Axe that is so huge that the entire vehicle is leaning. Several maids struggle and strain to dismount it from the back, but to no avail.

>"Hey guys, come with me, I want you to meet someone."
>"That's all for today, I'm going to take a victory drink."

"Hey" You say, getting everyone's attention before they split up. "Follow me, there's someone I think you should meet."

They look at you confused, "Who? Charlotte?" Felice says with curiosity.
"You'll see." You flash them a wide grin.

Walking by the carriage, you ruffle the ears of some of the maids to get them out of your way. As they're recovering, you cautiously lift the axe off the back of the carriage and let it drag along behind you.

--

Your party unpacks and unloads the drunken princess off onto Alicot. The head maid promptly reprimands her for running off, but you doubt the princess will even remember by the time she recovers.

But enough about that, time to show your new friend to your other new friends! You enter the castle with Atsuko, Felice, and Yuuki in tow. Peering down the main hallway, you can see Fritelli standing just outside the armory. In front of her is a kid who barely stands as tall as her waist. She jumps up and down happily as she tells some kind of story to her.
You wave to Fritelli as you approach.

"Hey" you call out to her, "You shouldn't leave your toys laying around."
She spins around on her tiny heel to face you.
"Huh? Pirate man? What are you doing here?"
"This is sort of my country, and you're in it. Liking the axe so far?"

Fritelli immediately speaks up,
"Wait, that's HER axe?! I thought she was joking!"

You laugh, the tiny hero joins in on your laughter.
"Everyone, meet Louise." You say, trying to stifle your laughter.
You're interrupted by her, "Louise Leclair, actually."

Right, you were never given a formal introduction to her name. Everyone exchanges names while you get a terrible idea in mind.

>"Come on, I think they want to see you use that axe."
>"Let's all go have a drink! You too Louise!"
>"Let's play around with some weapons some more."

AC-Guy ran an armored core quest. There is a list of things that regularly went wrong that included but was not limited to thing like his router crapping out, things being set on fire, his computer dying and various other things. All of which were verified as happening by a fellow anon who actually knew him IRL. Shit was bad, no joke.

"Hey! Let's get a few drinks. "

Everyone looks at you nervously, as if they already knew you would say that.
"What? I've been traveling all day, and I want a drink!"

"Ugh, I could go for some water." Yuuki says, already heading toward the cafeteria.

"Um, Drinks?" Louise says, looking confused. "You mean like Wine?"
"Nah, not just wine, Lass! The good stuff. The-"

That's when you notice Fritelli and Felice glaring right at you.
"..Yes Lass, Wine. The soft stuff."

She seems overjoyed by that, not surprising coming from a frenchie.
"YAY!" she yelps as she skips off after Yuuki.

"What the hell are you thinking?" Fritelli says, practical daggers leaving her eyes. "Trying to get a little kid to drunk hard liquor?"
"Ah Lass, it's fine! She's a hero, and french! She's probably used to drinking much stiffer stuff."

"Still!" Felice says, with the same disappointed tone, "That's not a nice thing to do to our hero!"

"Ah it's fine. Besides, we didn't even best part of all this!" You say, with a grin.

--

"THAT'S GOOD!" Louise yells with increasing volume. She's already burned through several glasses of wine. Fritelli looks on in horror, while Felice has slowly warmed up to the idea with several glasses of her own.

"Ha ha! I like the taste of that one!" Felice says, pouring another glass of it. "I like Gallete's booze better."
"I never tried theirs!" She says, downing another glass in a single gulp.

That's when you get that evil smile back on your face. Reaching onto your back, you take Louise's giant axe off and hand it to her.

"Okay Louise, I think it's time for some training."

The other look at you like you're insane, she stands up and almost loses her footing.
"Jack, what are you doing?"
"Part 2 of her training regiment, drunk fighting is how I've been fighting for years."

Okay, sorry for all the disasters tonight. Really sorry for it, because I was wanting to get to this part of the story.

We need to have a talk about Thursdays because there's a chance that my schedule is changing where they won't be open anymore. I was thinking of maybe moving Thursdays to Fridays. But I'll see. This particular thursday I probably won't be able to run, which means I'll have to skip another week. Which I don't like doing considering how many sessions I've missed this month.

Stay tuned if I can run Thursday, but thanks to everyone who was patient enough tonight to follow along!
