>Status
You are BRUISED and WINDED, but otherwise HEALTHY.
You have zero levels of Helheim Infection.

>Recap
You are Makoto Kinushima, also known as the Armored Rider Raid, a spunky dragon-like girl with a spark that doesn't back down from a challenge or a fight, and isn't afraid to call the unjust out on their shit. And you are currently trapped in a bizarrely colored forest, somewhere on the other side of the fabric of reality that made up your world, with Kaito Kumon (Armored Rider Baron), your main rival/enemy.

And you have to admit, you've got no earthly idea where the fuck you are. There are no paths to note, no trails to follow for guidance, and for all you've seen, there's only been three humans that you've known about in here - yourself, Ryoji Hase (currently suffering the aftereffects of getting wounded in the Helheim) and now Kaito Kumon. You've elected to stick with Kaito for the time being, and he's begrudgingly accepted for the time being... but where will you two go for now? The forest to your left and behind you is too thick to drive your motorcycles through with little difficulty, which leaves (what you assume to be) north and east. You're sure you also see some ruined buildings to the north... but they're too far off to discern more things.

>Choice:
[ ] Stick in the immediate area, look around.
[ ] Go into the north ruins.
[ ] Go east into the deeper forest.

If you haven't seen Skaphel's art... GO LOOK AT IT NOW! Skaphel did an awesome job drawing Makoto and Dragonfruit Arms!

Meanwhile, I've altered the design slighty to make it more like the Japanese style rather than Chinese. Also, I've drawn one possibility of how the claw and sword could combine. Let me know what you guys think!

I think i took too long to make my choice, but eh.
Anyway, i should post the full shot of Makoto and our Armored Rider. The proportions are a bit clunky tho.
Also, i draw the claw on the wrong side, since the Musou Saber is a right handed weapon. Speaking of the musou saber, it's missing its blade.

>>35686334
I don't think that having the claw combine with the musou saber is a good idea. Maybe with other arms, but the design of the claw we have doesn't really allow other uses or modes for it
That and, having the musou saber just. Hanging out on top of it looks kind of weird.
>>
>>35686462
You don't know enough about the forest yet to say for certainty that any exploration won't result in guaranteed death, even for two Armored Riders. So you and Kaito remain in the area, hesitant to approach the ruins or anything. Kaito seems to be coughing a bit, which is strange given that between the two of you, you were sure you had taken more hits directly to the body.

Kaito begins to wander around, looking at the trees and the fruits that hang off of them. He studies them silently, before picking off a couple of the purplish magenta fruit. The pearlescent flesh of the fruit is open for anyone to see, and you could swear that Kaito's considering taking a bite out of it. However, shortly after they are removed from the tree, the fruit is wrapped in a bright light, morphing into two more Lockseeds - one resembling the one he currently has (Banana) and another with a gradient oval pattern.

>KAITO: "These could work with the Driver... I presume?"

They do indeed look like they could hang off of the Driver, and there's more than enough fruit to go around! No Inves seem to be nearby, so now might be a good time to get a new Lockseed or two! There seems to be a good variety of lockseeds on a tree next to you, as you look at it.

Only having one secondary form change and using it as little as possible even thought it's better than your base form is one way to show strength.

Attach claw to sword hilt and have it pull duty like a shield or like a bashing weapon to a close target.

Tune: "Tartarus Theme, Full Mix" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QH2SnaFA2A)

Given your Driver is still active and everything, the fruit immediately morphs under your influence into... a Lockseed with a shiny red apple on the front of it, with LS-20 emblazoned on it. It feels a bit lighter than your normal Lockseed, but it indeed does look genuine, and the back of it looks like it could fit in the Driver.

>Gained 1x [Apple Lockseed]!

You put it on your Driver's "rack" for holding more Lockseeds, leaving you with two more slots remaining. You could give it a try right now, but you could have sworn you heard skittering around the edge of the clearing that sounded bigger than any old general animal.

You ready yourself for combat, but you're aware that you may not even have to eliminate all potential Inves. There's no way to know just how massive this forest is, and killing only a couple Inves may lead to more trouble than it would be worth. Then again, the temptation to grab more Lockseeds is growing...

You don't have to get far towards the sound before it reveals itself - indeed, it's an Inves. And wouldn't you know it, judging by the spiky horns on its head, it recognized you from your last visit to this accursed realm. Kaito's nowhere to be seen at the moment, either, which worries you...

But, good thing your Rider armor's still on, because it's charging you with no mercy in its beady eyes. It seems to not have learned, however, about how to deal with you. With an easy hop, you drag your claw across his head and down his back. Sparks and white blood leak from the Inves' wounds, and you can hear it screech in pain. Even though you're still bruised and everything, you feel confident that this thing should be easy to kill.

That is, until it rushes past you, seemingly ignoring you in favor of the hatched fruit it sees on a tree. Without care in the world, it almost inhales the fruit into its... mouth... on its forehead. And you could swear it lights itself up in violet and blue flames, before it grows almost three sizes taller than you.

You didn't just piss your pants, you're just sweaty. Really sweaty.

Oh.
HELL.
No.

You immediately summon your bike, fling yourself onto the seat, and book it. No Lockseed harvesting was worth it to deal with shit like that. You flee through the forest to the east, darting and weaving through the trees and foliage, but the Inves that you just tried to ditch in the previous clearing is just busting through the forest like the trees were made of papier-mache. It's gaining on you, and all you really can do is gun the throttle more and more to get some distance between.

The roars of the berserk Inves are cut short and converted into cries of pain suddenly. You can hear the "shing" of metal going through the air, and sliding through tough flesh, before vibrations indicate that the Inves might have fallen... or, perhaps, someone else has appeared on the stage.

Daring to slow to a stop and look behind you, another Armored Rider is visible by the body of the injured monster. Clad in green and white, he seems to evoke the appearance of an amalgamation between a silver stag beetle, and some sort of filigreed leaf. That, mixed with more than a dash of cool badassery.

And he's staring at you, kite shield in his(?) left hand, saber in his right.

Before slowly walking towards you, saying:
>???: "What is your purpose here?"

You take your hands off of the handlebars, trying to relax a bit. This person's walking slowly, yet confidently, and he's making no motion to put away his saber.

>MAKOTO: "I, uh, I'm lost. I apparently had been drafted into a surprise experiment of Sid's tech, and thanks to him I'm stuck here... are you stuck here as well? Do you know a way out?"

He doesn't stop, nor acknowledges your response with more than a "hmph". Before striking out at you with his saber! You manage to block the blow with your claw, stumbling off of your bike, as he maneuvers around it smoothly.

>???: "You're wielding a belt that you clearly know nothing of how to use. And you're asking your enemy what his reasoning is, instead of fighting? Pitiful."

He strikes at you again, and again, and again, building into a relentless flow of slices and strikes against you. The claw on your arm's able to resist all of them, but the force of the blows is astounding - even more so than Kaito, apparently due to skill on top of power.

This Armored Rider just struck you without provocation, knocking you off your bike, after you tried to peacefully talk to him.

There's going to be blood shed.

You ROAR as much as your voice will allow, drawing your own saber and striking at him. He effortlessly matches your draw, but the buckling - however momentary - of his arms at your blow suggests he wasn't prepared for you wielding so much power.

>???: "So you're not completely worthless. Good. Attack me then. Do not hold back."

And attack him you do, with all of your might. Resorting to the way you fought against Kaito, you use a multitude of throws, momentum attacks, pulls at his limbs with the tines of your claw, feral leaps and strikes. His shield takes the majority of your strikes, but the rate of success of your strikes is fairly average. And average against someone who's keeping cool through this barrage.

>???: "Is this because of your strength...? Or your weapon?"

The question strikes you as a bit of a headscratcher, before you're struck straight across the chest by his fist. You're knocked on your ass, and he points the gun at your belt.

>???: "Regardless, young woman, you still aren't ready. I will relieve you of the belt."

With another feral screech, you scramble to your knees and swipe the unknown assailant's saber out of his hands. Pulling out your own, you fire off a couple of shots at him, forcing him to put up his shield and go on the defensive.

>MAKOTO: ""At least I'm not hiding in the woods beating up random passerbys! Maybe I'm not as strong as you, but for the sake of those back home I will be stronger!"

Now's a good of a time as any to pull out your new toy. You quickly unlock the Dragonfruit lockseed, fire up the new one - "RRRINGO!" it goes - and slam it into place, not even waiting to hear the tone of your Driver sing as it waits for your input.

>DRIVER: "SOIYA! RINGO ARMS! AXE OF FIGHTER!"

The dragonfruit armor dissipates into particle effects, making you feel a lot lighter if only for a second, before the new Lockseed summons another set of armor above you. Sure enough, it does look like an apple, which is (in your opinion) far more embellished and coherent than your previous set. It looks like a cavalry knight's armor set, and when it snaps down on you and unfolds think Mars' henshin from the movie, or Jam from the final episode you feel a lot more dignified, competent maybe? Perhaps the suit makes the man, in this case.

Your hands, however, suddenly feel heavy as a weapon is materialized in them, and when you look down to see what it is, you're not all that surprised. What looks to be a heavy double-headed axe, meant to be wielded with both hands, has been granted to you. It feels balanced as you swing it around a bit... but the unknown rider isn't attacking you, just watching.

>>35690024
>>35690514

You couldn't keep your dice dick in your pants until he called for roll, did you Anon? I blame you for this.

Might as well hope this is a 20 and that Sagara will count it..
>>
>>35690514
So there's a 1/20 chance that we'll fail horribly every roll. And you take 5 rolls. And crits overwrite ordinary dice scores.

What you're saying is there's a 1/4 chance to fuck up horrendously every single time we roll those dice, and we can do nothing to prevent it?
>>
>>35690514
why do you hate us?
Why would you take that roll?

>>
Rolled 14 (1d20)

>>35690591
Or this one!
>>
>>35690593
So we're dealing with a hugely swingy, pointlessly random dice system that adds nothing to the quest other than jerking off over crits?
>>
>>35690628
Yes. Just like every other quest.
>>
>>35690628
Yep, welcome to /tg/.
>>
>>35690628
OK, do you have a better suggestion instead of the system? I'm honestly curiousl
>>
>>35690723
At this stage, flip a coil. The DC is heads.
>>
>>35690737
That's not even close to what the QM is trying to accomplish. There's supposed to be some randomness, but it shouldn't always be a screw up or auto-steam roll. 25% is much better than 50% for variation.

Besides, it's no fun when people can't participate in some way, rather than the QM just saying "You were destroyed by this, you fuck, that's the end." when we have no way of gauging power levels and in some ways, some of us would be skilled enough to guide our heroine to victory.
>>
>>35690628
Aside from the crits, the system is leaning into the high half of the spectrum.
>>
>>35690898
Besides, this is only our second critical failure. If we won all the time, things would be boring.
>>
>>35690737
And we're actually holding up better than Kouta did in the show. He just brutally loses this fight.
>>
>>35690982
That's because the QM is afraid to make us lose at anything.
>>
>>35690514

You slowly lower the axe to fools' guard, the head looming low near your feet. The other Rider stares at you, as you meet his gaze with what you hope to be at least some intimidation coming from your presence. You certainly feel more in control now that you're using a new weapon.,..

...but as the unknown Rider's attack recommences, it's clear you need FAR more training in wielding heavy weapons like this. Your swings are wild, but not in the good way - the times it hits, he easily blocks with his shield, and the rest he just casually weaves and bobs around.

>???: "... you have no claim to your power. Leave."

>???'S DRIVER: "MELON SQUASH"

With a maneuver that's nearly liquid, he blocks your overhead swing and sends you flying backwards over a short cliff into a shallow waterfall pool, with an insurmountable kick. Your armor sparks and sears your skin, causing you to cry out in pain.

>You are MODERATELY INJURED.

The armor and weapon dissipate once more into particle effects, but the unknown Rider stares you down before shaking his head and walking out of sight. It leaves you alone, soaking wet, and feeling like hell...

You manage to get to shore, limping your way there, and look up at the cliff face where the melon Rider made his departure. You don't know if he's there or not, nor do you care.

>MAKOTO: ""You think power is only for the strong, that having power means you get to decide what a person is capable of? Power exists for the weak to better themselves, I'll stand up as many times as needed, fight as many losing battles as necessary til I'm strong enough to stand on my own. So fuck you and fuck your condescending attitude."

All you get in response is some breeze through the trees, and a couple birds chirping. It at least helped you get that out of your system, instead of exploding at one of your friends or something.

Speaking of, you probably should start making your way back, you figure. Given enough time, you know that you're risking exposure to the Helheim infection that Hase has. You Rider up once more, supplanting the pain with the familiar armor that the Dragonfruit Lockseed brings, and make your way up the hill once more. It's a pain, and you know you've never been injured like this - you could swear you have a couple broken ribs, maybe a fractured leg - but the drive to find Kaito and get out is stronger than any pain you're going through.

Getting back on the Rose Attacker and making your way down to the clearing, you find no sign of Kaito, nor his bike. You've got a feeling he fucked off back home already, though. Punk ass coward bitch. And other expletives and slurs.

Sighing, you resume driving through the forest, gaining enough speed to ignite the Rose Attacker's portal ability, and send yourself careening through the portal back to solid, non-crazy ground. It's nearly midnight, judging by the chill and everything, but you are indeed back home, with a new toy. Doesn't fix the broken ribs, though.

You make your way to the Hospital, disengaging your Driver shortly after you made it out of the portal. No use running around with armor once you're out of the danger. The choice of transport does draw a couple people's attention once you pull up, but on the whole, no one seems to mind too much.

You walk in, get registered (under the guise of "I got mugged super bad but you should see the other guy"), and thanks to the wonderful people at the Yggdrasil Corporation who help run the hospitals, you're taken in to be checked out by one of the doctors on call. A rather scruffy middle-aged Japanese woman, with glasses that seem to be perpetually fogged, she certainly looks the type to be someone in the profession of motherhood. However, she gives off a strange countenance when she greets you, with the name "Dr. Ebisa". It's not bad, really, it's just... unsettling. Like she knows more than you do, or that she's not quite all the way here. Either way, it puts you off a bit as she examines your torso for damage.

She takes a seat and looks over her glasses - piercing purple eyes, as if she was Irish - and informs you:
>DR. EBISA: "Seems you got yourself into quite a tussle, young lady. Bone bruising's not something that most muggers aim for, and especially aiming for joints as well. Honey, there seems to be more to this story than you're letting on... would you mind telling the good doctor?

You sigh. You're not sure how much this woman knows about the Beat Rider games, so you try taking it a bit easy.

>MAKOTO: "I'm actually in a karate gang. The other guys were students from a kung fu school, and things got a bit out of hand."

The doctor just stares at you. The exact kind your parents would give if they knew you were lying through your teeth.

>MAKOTO: "....Alright, fine, the Karate gang thing was a bit too much. The truth is, um, well I got into a fight with another one of the Beat Riders, and he didn't hold back. Neither did I, but y'know... I was stubborn, he panicked, so I guess he just got lucky or something."

The doctor stares once more, and nods. Dripping with sarcasm, she responds:
>DR. EBISA: "So karate gang fights, got ittt. Let's just go with that for now, okay?"

Damn these old people and their knowledge.

>DR. EBISA: "Just don't get into more fights for the next few days, and you won't suffer more pain, alright? I would be able to fix you up from most injuries, but I can't guarantee this kind of thing's not gonna go unnoticed after a while."

The good doctor sends you home with some pain medication, and some wraps around your torso, but while you're leaving you could swear that you're already feeling physically and mentally better, even though your pain pills haven't even gotten close to your mouth. You chalked it up to the doctor's presence, but now wasn't the time to think of such complicated possibilities. You make sure to send a text to the rest of Raid Wild letting them know that you're okay, and they reply with an affirmative, before you arrive at the door to your house.

PLAYER CHANGE: ERINA KINUSHIMA
==============================================

You are Erina Kinushima, head financial advisor at Yggdrasil Corporation, mother to Makoto Kinushima, and you need more coffee.

It's nearly midnight, and you, plus nearly the entire employee base of Yggdrasil, are gathered in a massive conference room that's fashioned like an ampitheater rather than any normal meeting room. The Executive Chairwoman, Ms. Naruya Yamauchi, had scheduled a conference for the company at such a strange hour, but whatever the chairwoman says, goes. And you're not about to risk your family's sole source of income on taking a meeting off just for some rest.

There are many of your fellow co-workers here, some still on duty at their jobs (Yggdrasil Corporation's a 24 hour kind of business) whereas others appear to have just woken up. However, there's still some time before the meeting will begin.

You lean over to a guy from the finance department, about your age but apparently unknown to you, and say quietly:

>ERINA: "Hey, do you know what exactly the meeting's about?"
>GUY: "No clue, all I know is that it was mandatory. Sorry, not much help."

You nod, then think of your daughter for a second. She had done some applying to jobs today, but you hadn't heard from her since mid-afternoon. Hopefully she was alright... did she find a boyfriend yet? You hope so, the young girl's been stuck in her room for the last 6 months since your husband, Takeru, took off for the mountains again. Being a single mom is hard sometimes, and you could tell it was harder for Makoto than you... maybe you should ask again if there's anyone at work that might be interested in dating her?

As you get up towards the drinks, as usual dealing with the pain with your right leg, and hobble along, you see a young man with short, straight black hair, and a high school uniform sitting at the back row. He doesn't look at all familiar, but he does resemble in a way Takatora Kureshima, one of the research directors for the higher ups. Perhaps a younger brother, or even a son? Takatora-san did always look far younger than his age belied... You get your Big Gulp cup of coffee and ponder your next step... at the very least, since you've always been curious about people in general, he's someone else to talk to about the meeting. The presence of a Lockseed on his backpack also shows he's into Beat Rider culture, like your daughter...

Don't push the "you look like a nice young man, would you be interested in my daughter?" angle, but do say hello and talk to him. Ask him if he's looking for Takatora, maybe comment on the Lockseed and tell him our daughter's into those, nothing too pressuring. You hobble over and take a seat in the back, next to the young man. He seems a little confused as to why you're sitting next to him, but when you speak up, he relaxes a bit.

>ERINA: "Are you waiting for Takatora-san?"
>YOUNG MAN: "A-ah, yeah... well, not really waiting on him but I was dragged along by him. Falling asleep here, aheh."
>ERINA: "Dragged along?"
>YOUNG MAN: "Yeah, I'm his brother... Mitsuzane, but most people call me Micchy. Do you work with my brother?"
>ERINA: "Indirectly, yeah. I'm Erina Kinushima. The head financial advisor for the company. Your brother and I are on pretty good terms, I'd like to think."

He laughs, a bit awkwardly, but he is indeed making conversation. You turn the conversation towards the Lockseed on his backpack.

>ERINA: "So, uh, are you involved with the Inves Game by any chance?"
He nods, silently.
>ERINA: "Y'know, my daughter's been looking into the Beat Rider culture. She's always doing dancing in her room, and last week she got onto a team!"
This catches his attention, with which he leans in a bit.
>MICCHY: "Is your daughter Makoto Kinushima?"

Micchy is about to start his reply before bright spotlights shine on the center stage of the ampitheater...

What you see on the ampitheater stage, is the figure of a woman, slender and graceful, clacking her heels onto the stage. Jet black hair done into a tight bun, pinned together with more than enough chopsticks, lacquered and inlaid with precious materials. The most minimal of makeup requireA pearl white cocktail dress, white feathered boa snaked around behind her back and around her arms, she looks like the epitome of luxury. And yet, she's got an air around her that is almost easygoing and relaxed to the point of absurdity.

This is Naruya Yamauchi, the executive chairwoman of Yggdrasil Corporation.

And the first words out of her mouth catch you off guard with a smile you didn't know you'd have.

>NARUYA: "I was under the impression you guys got the memo about the whole costumes bit? Y'know, that this was going to be the Halloween party announcement as well?"

A few of the people in the crowd laugh out loud, genuine and hearty, as she smiles at the crowd as if she knows everyone by name.

>NARUYA: "Ah well, the actual Halloween party is in two weeks from now. If you didn't wear a costume because /someone/--"
- and with this interruption, she gives a scolding glare to her assistant (you assume), a much younger French woman who is giggling behind her clipboard in the front row, before resuming -
>NARUYA: "-- didn't give out the memo. No worries, I like dressing up. Nice and fancy. ANYWAY, onto business. Welcome to the meeting, I'm sorry for calling you all so late, but I figured the quicker the better."

The humor in her tone starts to fade as the topic turns serious.

>Continued (2/3)

>Continued:

>NARUYA: "As most of you know, Yggdrasil is the company that provides not only the Lockseeds for the Inves games that are growing popular in most of the world, but also Drivers to those who are tasked with moderating and preventing any escaped Inves. So far, most of it has been going fairly well, if a bit standard. However, thanks to the recent developments, the situation has changed."

The Chairwoman gives a hand signal, and two big screens come down from the ceiling, on which are projected videos from online video sharing sites. Most appear to be shot by cell phone or digital camera, so the quality is varying, but they all depict various warriors clad in metal armor akin to the personal Kurokage Troopers that Yggdrasil has on hand to deal with breakouts of Inves, but colored many different ways - orange, magenta, yellow, and so on. Even a green and purple warrior with a gun is shown -- much to the surprise of Micchy next to you, with his eyes glued to the screen. She continues.
>NARUYA: "The Inves Games have now gotten the Armored Riders, as DJ Sagara calls them, involved. Real money is being traded between teams of dancers in Japan, France, Germany, the eastern and western USA, and so on. And just today, there was the first Rider to Rider battle that we've seen."

On both screens, videos of the magenta and green-clad "Rider", wielding what looked to be a nasty-looking metal claw, and the red-and-yellow Rider with a large white spear, are playing. The fighting is dirty, intense, and quite frankly a bit disturbing. No blood is being spilled, just sparks off of armor, but the hits and sound effects sound like wrecking balls hitting metal. The magenta rider with the claw looks familiar to you, at least the silhouette of her body under the armor, but the videos pause.
>NARUYA: "This, as morbid as this sounds and I apologize, is utterly outstanding news."

"This is safe, right? Beat Riding is for kids."
>>
>>35694784
Keep listening, see what she has to say next. Find out why this is good. Also, there are other Armored Riders in other cities? That's probably a good thing. I am disappointed that we're apparently not as special as we thought, though.

Worried, you lean over to Micchy.
>ERINA: "Uh, Riding is okay, right? My daughter's involved in it..."

Micchy's silent for a moment, then speaks.
>MICCHY: "Beat Riding like this is not it... it's about looking out for, and protecting your friends... not settling differences between Rider teams..."

Naruya continues, glee in her voice.

>NARUYA: "While this will cut down on the sales of lower-level Lockseeds to the dealers, what this will do is heighten demand for the A-Class, plus the Drivers themselves. While the Drivers are nowhere near easy to produce, it's entirely possible to develop them in sufficient quantities so that the market will be satisfied - 10 or so for each city, according to estimates. The more Riders that come about, the more interest in Lockseed sales, and therefore the more actual sales."

You had to admit, her logic wasn't all there. At least, in a safe and sensible way. But Lockseed sales were growing into a larger industry by the day, looking at the numbers from the sales by Sid and the other dealers in Zawame itself. Still, the threats to people's safety worried you....

>NARUYA: "As I said earlier, business is looking up in our Lockseed Division, and I hope for higher prospects in the next quarter. Onto other topics, our medical division is also prospering..."

The rest of the meeting you start tuning out, as you already know most of this. Yggdrasil's coffers are growing by the day, even to numbers that monopoly companies would kill for. Loyalty to the company dictates at least some pride in the sales, but now that you've seen the Chairwoman essentially endorse fostering a culture of warring superpowered young adults, you're left with a decision...

Use our position in the company to look into the business plan for Lockseed development and sales. There has to be a contingency for controlling the chaos that could arise from this. No sane company would intentionally endanger peoples' lives. Then, when we know more, make our decision.

Also, this is an interesting departure from canon. I like this twist, I can see some really cool things happening as a result of this.

I hope this happens, if only so Erina winds up significantly more powerful than her daughter. It would make for a funny little dynamic. At least, until Makoto's mid-season upgrade. I wonder where said upgrade will come from, though? With hundreds of Riders worldwide as opposed to canon's ten in Zawame, the situation is changed up significantly. Sagara is going to be spoiled for choice.

>>
>>35695473

The meeting wraps up with another promise of exceeding expectations for next quarter, but as a final stinger, Chairwoman Yamauchi says this:

>NARUYA: "I ask you, ladies and gentlemen, what is sin? Sin is temptation. Sin is losing oneself in the pleasures of luxury, with no care for those who have none. Our role, is to provide those without luxury, with the tools to make them as powerful as the gods themselves. As long as we know the line between sin and purity, we shall never fall to the consumption of sin. I bid you good evening, and if you want to stick around and chat, feel free to enjoy the food. Otherwise, you are all dismissed for the night - exception being essential graveyard shift personnel, of course."

With that, the speech is over, and many people file out to start munching away at the (admittedly fantastic) food and drink that has been provided.

Suddenly, the coffee in your mug is not looking so appealing anymore.

You text your daughter:
>[Text]: Hey Mako-chi, it's mom ^^ just wanting to check on you to make sur e you're doing alright. I should be home tonight, if you're up, and if you want to talk. <3
She doesn't respond immediately. Must be asleep.

You turn to Micchy and make sure to address him.
>ERINA: "Hey, uh, Micchy? Can you do me a favor?"
>MICCHY: "Yes, Kinushima-san?"
>ERINA: "This may sound really out of line, and do not tell your brother about this... but if Takatora-san starts doing anything weird involving Lockseeds, let me know, okay? I, uh... well, this doesn't sit right with me."

Micchy blinks, but nods, agreeing with your plan. He excuses himself shortly after, and slings his backpack onto his back before exiting. Late night, of course, and for a high school student, probably not the best time to be up for him.

Now you've got a couple hours or so to kill...

Keep it up, DJ, this is the highlight of my Wednesdays.

It's pretty fun.
>>
>>35696112
I'm liking it a lot. For the first few threads, while I enjoyed them, I didn't see much different from canon Gaim. I assumed that would eventually change as we altered the timeline, and this thread delivered. From here on out, I can see things changing drastically. I am very excited to see what will come up as we progress further.
>>
>>35696112
A large yawn, and drowsy eyes come over your countenance. Today was already a long day even before the meeting, but exhaustion was starting to take over. Popping a couple tabs of ibuprofen to manage the leg pain for now, at least until you make it home and can get to your prescription meds, you hobble on out of the building.

It's cool, a bit too breezy, but still nice night. Were it not for the rain, which couldn't apparently make up its mind as to whether it would fall hard and loud on the pavement, or just drizzle and annoy. At least it wouldn't obscure you driving, you thought, as you make your way to your car.

In the parking garage next to the headquarters, you notice that in the reserved spots, Takatora's personal car is nowhere to be seen. Come to think of it, you didn't see him at all at the meeting - and you usually have a good eye for the more senior members of Yggdrasil (as most of them are your peers). Yet Micchy said that his brother dragged him here? Did Micchy know about this, perhaps?

Exhaustion clouds your vision for a split second, and your purpose of heading home renews itself. No time to stand around dilly-dallying - your daughter may be in mortal danger soon, if things don't shape up. Or get fixed. Or something. You're not sure what the right term is for what you're aiming to do, but you know it just doesn't sit right with you.

The drive home is uneventful, except for the text you receive while you're near the house. Apparently you woke up Makoto:

>[Text from: Mako-chi]: huh wait whats going on?
>[Text from: Mako-chi]: is everything alright? am i trouble? im up if you want to talk

PERSPECTIVE CHANGE: MAKOTO KINUSHIMA

You are Makoto Kinushima, and you're not a happy panda. Your mom just texted you out of the blue, clearly wanting to talk to you despite doing the "mom thing" of giving the whole "if you want to talk, i'm here for you teehee" routine.

It's 12:40 AM when the door opens, and you're sitting on the couch watching Kyoryuger. Erina Kinushima herself hobbles through the door, locking it behind her, before dropping her keys on the counter of the kitchen, and sitting next to you heavily.

The two of you don't really say anything to start, but one of you has to make the first move.

She's a woman of integrity. Sure, we might have to go beltless for a day or two while she freaks out, but she's our best route of access to Yggy's information, and anyone who's ever watched heroic TV knows it's important for genuinely good people to communicate with each other to avoid working at cross purposes.

>>35697575
That post isn't a vote, so going a bit meta with it is not too terribly metagame-y.
>>
>>35697606
I suppose. I still have no idea what it is, so I dunno, but with a name like Genesis Core, it sounds important.

Long run, I suppose it doesn't matter, as most people picked the "spill the beans" without that as their direct reasoning.
>>
>>35697672
So, you haven't watched Gaim then? Interesting! I wondered if that was the case for anyone here.
>>
>>35697672
There are two types of Lockseed. The "naturally occurring" ones made from Helheim fruit, and entirely artificial ones referred to as Energy Lockseeds. The Energy Lockseeds are far more powerful, but regular Sengoku Drivers like we have can't use them. You need a Genesis Driver to use Energy Lockseeds. But it is possible to get backwards compatibility with the Sengoku Driver by removing the plate on the buckle that shows our armor's profile and installing a Genesis Core in its place. We can then use both a regular Lockseed and an Energy Lockseed at the same time, greatly boosting our power. In canon, it was Gaim's mid-season upgrade.
>>
>>35697606
In regards to >>35697553, I'll say it's indeed a possibility, but it's too early
to to say whether or not that can be accomplished with this timeline. Just gotta keep watching/particpating.

Nope. Everything I know is from the DJ's mouth, and the interactions and reactions from people in the thread. I spoiled a few major points for myself without meaning to, so I know how the original story ends, but I don't know anything about the powers, or many of the characters or their personalities. So the original ending doesn't mean much for me.

I mean, shit, I didn't even know dancing was a thing in Gaim until this thread.

>How are you guys liking the quest so far, by the way?
It's awesome, even though I only catch the beginning of every episode due to being in eastern europe.

The whole "shipping mom" angle was hilarious, as is REVOCS

Nnoooooo

Erina is already shaping up to be best mom.

Also
Naruya's not as much like Ragyou as I initially formed her. She's got a lot of dork in her, and lovable (hopefully) dork at that. Again, I'm trying to go for the "no clear evil" angle, in a way.

Yeah, I'm liking them both. But especially Erina.

Really hope she'll get a Driver.

Hey OP, how often do you run this?
>>
>>35705245
Best mom's are the ones forcing shipping upon their children.
>>
>>35706736
It's run usually every Wednesday from 11am EST until whenever the episode reasonably finishes. But he'll let us know on his twitter if anything changes.

However, the normal time the episode ends is usually somewhere between 10pm to midnight EST.
