> PREVIOUSLY ON MAGICAL GREEN LANTERN: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Magical+Green+Lantern

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2y8A7ttvGiI

“… and that is how I defeated The Shark, Professeur!”

You and Sinestro walk along the glittering streets of Oa. Green Lanterns from all over the universe fly in around you, gathering around to the Citadel to receive news from the Guardians in person. The Green Lantern not attending is Mogo, for obvious reasons. You met up with Professeur Sinestro on your way there, and because you did it recently, you felt boastful enough to tell him of how you defeated The Shark.

“Interesting, defeating a humanoid Shark with an air tank,” he says, looking ahead with a very grim look. “Very inventive of you.”

You grin. He said it was inventive!

You are Lumière Berger, Green Lantern of Sector 2814. The Guardians have called all Green Lanterns to Oa for an announcement. You do not see why they don’t just call you on your rings. Maybe it’s that important. “So, what about your dog?” he asks.

You blink. Oh yes, Steel. “Well…”

> “Okay, Red Tornado. Listen, Steel is a very delicate dog so don’t-“

> “OH LOOK AT HIS LITTLE NOSY OH I COULD JUST EAT THIS LITTLE CUTIE UP!”

> “Red Tornado, please- Just-“

> “OH, LOOK AT HOW HE SITS! HE THINKS HE’S PEOPLE, HEEHEEHEE!”

> “… On second thought. I’ll just go.”

You sigh. “The little Red Tornado who calls herself Tornado Alli occasionally is taking care of him. I trust her at least not to make little Steel accompany her on her crimefighting sprees.”

“Of course,” he says. “Do you know what this announcement is for?” he asks in a way that indicates he probably knows the answer. You do not however.

> “No, Monsieur.”

You shake your head. “No, Monsieur.” You tilt your head at him, frowning. Your good mood is starting to fade a bit in the Professeur’s stewing of grimness. “I’m guessing you do, however?”

He nods. “As usual, it will be more of the incompetence of the Guardians.” He throws his arm forward, dismissively. “Take Legion for example, that was something that should not have happened, or the dimensional crisis. It’s already clear the Guardians in their age are becoming… senile.”

“Oh.” You blink, glancing away. “Well- Professeur, they have good intentions-“

“Which does not excuse poor decisions,” he says. “Sometimes the right thing is not the smart thing. The Guardians would send a child to save an adult from a burning building if it meant they could pat themselves on the back for doing something they believe was good.”

Tomar-Re flies and drops in next to Sinestro. He calmly says, “You must hold your tongue, Sinestro. The Guardians are not perfect. Mistakes are made occasionally, and we must learn to live with them.”

Sinestro narrows his eyes at Tomar-Re. “Like your mistake with Krypton?” Tomar-Re pauses in step, falling behind you both. You want to defend Tomar-Re but something stops you. It’s a little voice saying you shouldn’t. You sigh, continuing to walk alongside him.

You stand in a crowd of many Green Lanterns. Some float above you, others stand next to you, nearly crushing you with their depth. Nearly 3600 Green Lanterns of all Sectors across the Universe stand beside you. And above you in their Citadel are the Guardians of the Universe. “Green Lanterns. After the Legion incident, and the Dimensional Crisis which threatened to tear our Universe apart, we have decided to revise our policies. There will be only one major change.”

“It is clear that despite the powers of your Rings, an individual Green Lantern may not be enough to police a whole Sector. Which is why we have decided to expand the Corps and double its number.” Murmurs and exasperated gasps go on throughout the crowd. “Our most trusted Green Lantern Mogo will help decide where the new 3600 Power Rings shall go to.”

Kilowog groans. “Oh great. More poozers to break in.”

“The Green Lantern Corps is strong, have faith in your will. Be prepared to fight alongside a new Green Lantern.” The Guardians withdraw from their post, back into the Citadel.

… New Green Lanterns?

Sinestro looks livid. “So this is their answer? Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they decide to throw fuel on the fire by using fresh Recruits!”

“Relax, Sinestro.” Kilowog stomps over to him, grinning. “I must admit, all those new Green Lanterns is going to be a heck of a chore, but…”

“It’s not that, what would warrant almost doubling the Corps in size?” Sinestro sighs harshly. “I can sense the fear in the Guardians.”

Something I never really got about the yellow thing, does no one ever realize that you can just use a different set of tactics to negate that?

Ok so a dude is wearing a yellow spandex suit and your ring can't work on him, instead of targeting him, target his environment and nuetralize him there.

Edgy example, pick up a steel girder from a construction site and toss it through the ass hat.
>>
>>35629652
There are many ways to combat yellow, the problem is that lose a lot of the power and flexibility of your ring when you do that.

“What could they fear, Professeur?”

Sinestro crosses his arms, tapping his fingers along his bicep. “Red Lanterns, perhaps the Manhunters.” You have no idea what any of those are. “It is all theory, but overall they remain credible threats to the Green Lantern Corps’ authority.”

Kilowog nods. “That’s right. I suppose working more Green Lanterns in is fine, but the Green Lantern Corps has never been about a show of force, much as I like to think it is.”

“One Sector, One Lantern,” says Sinestro. “They are preparing for something. Something big.” He growls, turning away. “And yet they still leave us in the dark, those old fools.” You and Kilowog watch him leave, then fly up and away back to his Sector.

“Sinestro’s always been one about control,” says Kilowog. “Don’t blame him, he has one of the safest sectors in the Universe.”

You nod. “I just hope he does not do anything rash.”

“There are other Lanterns?”

Kilowog nods. “The Emotional Spectrum stretches across seven colors. Will stands in between all of them: green. At the edges we got Red for Rage, and Violet for Love. Then in between all that you got Indigo for compassion, Blue for Hope, Orange for greed, and Yellow for fear.”

“There’s a Corps for all of them?”

Kilowog laughs. “If there were, we’d be deadmeat! Nah, the only other Lanterns we have to worry about are the Red Lanterns and MAYBE Agent Orange. Nobody’s tapped into the other energies as far as we know. And we sure as heck wouldn’t stand a chance against a Corps powered by fear.”

You nod. “I see… Well- I must return to Earth then, Monsieur Kilowog. This business of the Lanterns is too… complex for me.”

He grins. “But your curiosity is roused, ain’t it?”

You don’t want to say it is. For right now though, you must return to Earth, to at least make sure things are running smoothly now. You lift off the ground and blast off into the skies of Oa, setting a course for Earth.

You knock on the door of the grungy little apartment. It’s not yours, but it is the “Super Secret Hideout of Secrets” for the Red Tornado. It literally says that on the door. “Who is it?” sings a girl from inside the room.

“It’s Green Lantern,” you say. “Open the door, s'il vous plaît.”

After a minute of loud noises which you can assume to be Red Tornado getting her things together and her costume on, the door flies open. The Red Tornado stands there, dress, cape, and cooking pot helmet and all. “Have no fear, the Red Tornado is here!” she yells. She holds up your dog, Steel the little Corgi. “And I have your dog, Green Lantern, the little cutie’s just been so well-behaved, he thinks he’s like a little Bruce Wayne!”

You take Steel from her care, cradling him like a baby. “Aw, thank you, Red Tornado. Anyway, I must go. There-“

“Wait!” Red Tornado is quick to stop you. “D- Do you wanna like…” She twiddles her fingers, her cooking pot hanging downwards towards the ground. “… do stuff?” You blink. “I have so few friends.”

“Oh, we could do lots of things. We could paint each other’s nails, we could talk about cute boys, or we could go on patrol and search the city of London for crime. You could be the World’s Great Detective!” She places her hands on her hips, standing proud. “And I could be your young ward, Robin the Boy Wonder! Not that I am a boy- But you get the point!”

You nod. “Ah, oui, I do.” You scratch your chin a bit. “You did say you wanted to see a movie, oui?” She nods, her cooking pot clinking, obviously a bit loose. “Well…”

The Theatre cashier looks at you two, confused to see the Magical Green Lantern and Tornado Alli standing there. “Two adults for the Terror, please,” you say. Adults is really pushing it, but maybe they’ll make an exception.

“Um…” The cashier blinks, staring between you two. “We’re sold out, sorry.”

“Sold out!?” says Tornado Alli. “But you had tickets just yesterday!”

“Yeah, sorry,” he says.

“At least you are honest,” you say. “We’ll go.” You and Tornado Alli turn around from the theatre and start walking on. Your good red friend looks down in the dumps, not even cradling Steel is doing anything for you. “Do not worry, we’ll find a new venue,” you say.

She looks up at you. “Like what?”

You grab some fish and chips from the local chippy and start digging in on a secluded rooftop. The cashier’s face when he saw the Red Tornado and the Green Lantern order two fish and chips out of a newspaper was priceless, but understandable. You take good pride in the crisp goodness of the chips and the fish.

“Why do they call fries, chips?” asks Red Tornado. Oh right, she’s American.

“Well…” you shrug. “I do not know. I am French.” You take another bite of the fish. “These are good fish and chips though.”

“Agreed,” she says. She takes the upmost care in lifting her cooking pot helmet only a little bit just to make sure her identity is concealed. You’re already fully aware of it though. If you’re not mistaken, she’s little Allison Hunkel, niece of Ma Hunkel. Nothing too mindblowing about it.

You chew idly, then look to see a column of smoke. A fire! “Red Tornado! A fire!” you say. You both immediately get to gobbling down your fish and chips, then start towards it.

“Go, get the water hose up!” yells a firefighter. You and Red Tornado drop down next to the fire chief at his firetruck. “Green Lantern, Red Tornado! The fire’s out of control! There’s still people inside that building!”

“How many?” you say.

“Let’s go!” You and her run up to the smoking building. You bust the door down with an energy blast. Red Tornado solves the issue of a burning hallway with a blast of wind, smoking the fires out. You and her run in.

“Help us! Someone!” yells a woman. Upstairs. You present your ring and fly up through the ceiling to the stricken woman and her child, cradled together by a bed as everything burns around. “Oh, Green Lantern! Thank God you’re here!”

You surround the two within a green energy shield. “Hang on! I’ll get you out!” You hang them out the window. “Red Tornado! I have them!”

She flies up through the hole you made. “Great!” She swirls the air around, choking more of the flames out. “Get ‘em out!” You poke your body out of the window, then gently let the civilians down to the ground. Medics and other emergency personnel quickly attend to them. “Let’s go!” You fly out, and she flies out as well.

“Choke it out, Rouge!”

Red Tornado raises her arms, which brings in a great swirl of red wind and air. She smashes it all downwards on the building, the flames practically disintegrating and washing away. The firefighters all cheer and whoop at the both of you. “Hurrah for the Red Tornado and the Green Lantern!”

Red Tornado looks down at the cheering crowd. “Oh, they’re cheering for us! Yay!” She giggles, dancing a bit in the sky in celebration.

“Where injustice and terror occur, beware the might of the Red Tornado and the Green Lantern!” shouts Red Tornado triumphantly. You and her sit on top of another rooftop, ready to pounce on anymore danger. “It has a ring to it!”

You nod, projecting a construct of one of your most favorite Jules Verne books. “It does, I suppose.”

She looks down at your ring. “Say, Green Lantern.” You look up at her. “That ring of yours. Where’d you get it?”

You smile at her, whisking away the projection. “It was given to me by my predecessor, Abin Sur. I was chosen to be part of the Green Lantern Corps, policemen of the Universe you could say. This Ring is our billy club you could say as well.”

I think it seems more that Batman was actively rejecting the Yellow Ring. Batman has equal capacity for willpower and fear, so he's theoretically eligible for either ring.

“It takes a certain amount of stuff to be a Green Lantern, Red Tornado. For one thing, you don’t choose to be one, they choose you. But, if you are of good mettle, and if you have strong willpower, maybe you will be selected.” You look down at your ring.

… Hm. Couldn’t hurt to try.

“Would you like to try?” you ask.

“Would I!?” She holds out her hand happily as you take off your ring. Your Uniform quickly dissipates, turning you back into your casual form. “Wow, neato!” She takes the ring and quickly slots it onto her hand.

And nothing happens. “Huh.” She shakes her hand. “I… I don’t feel anything.”

“You don’t?” you ask. That’s strange. Perhaps the Ring only works with those it chooses to work with. That would make a lot of sense.

She brandishes her ring at the air. Nothing. “Huh. Guess I can’t be the Green Tornado.” She mopes a bit, then takes the ring off and hands it back to you. “That sucks.” You put your ring back on, regaining your uniform. “I really want to be a Green Lantern!” she whines.

“Well-“

“Too bad, child!” Your ears perk up. You both look up to see another Green Lantern girl, much like you. She wears a green minidress, with a black belt. Black stockings adorn her curvy and generous legs, and white gloves are wrapped up around her hands, accentuating her Power Ring. Her blonde hair is tied up into an immaculate swirly ponytail thrown over her shoulder. “Two Lanterns, one sector.” She drops down next to you.

“Who are you?” you ask.

She smirks at you, looking up and down your body. “Green Lantern Clarissa Savage of Sector 2814, recently promoted from Reserve to Active. Question is, who are you?” … What? “Nice mask by the way, just in case one of these millions of brits recognizes you and-“ She makes air quotes with her fingers, “does something about it.”

… WHO THE HELL IS THIS!?

“I happen to be your Senior, Savage!” You jab your finger into her generous assets. Ugh… you shudder. Damn it, she’s got bigger- No, focus! FOCUS. “Now, explain yourself. For one thing, reserve, secondly, Savage?”

“Yeah, no relation to the Nazi,” she says. “The other guy can change his name for all I care. If he did have a daughter, there’d be a real scandal.”

You nod. “Okay, reserve. Explain that.”

Clarissa crosses her arms, sighing at the prospect of having to dump information. “When your predecessor crashed, there were actually a few prospective Green Lanterns. I was one of them. But since you happened to be stupidly close to him when he died, you got the Ring. But because I was still a promising candidate, the blue guys decided to keep me in reserve.” She holds up her ring, grinning. “And that’s how I got my Power Ring!”

You narrow your eyes. “Do you even know how to use that?”

“Sure!” she says. “You can make anything your heart desires like say…” She holds out her ring to a random space of the rooftop. Out of her ring comes a construct of Batman. “BATMAN!”

You cross your arms, puffing your cheeks out and pursing your lips. “Hmph. So you know how to use your ring. BUT DO YOU KNOW BATMAN’S SECRET IDENTITY!?”

She shrugs. “Bruce Wayne right?” You blink. “It seems obvious. Kid gets his parents murdered, wants revenge?”

“No! It’s Alfred!” you say. Red Tornado simply sits in between you, watching as if this were some kind of film. Clarissa gasps, surprised.

“Really?” she says. “Wow… that- that actually makes a whole lot more sense. Neato.”

You smirk, your superiority established. “Hmph. Now you will accept me as your Senior.”

“Hold on there, Frenchie,” says Clarissa. “Hehe, I don’t need no Senior, alright. Clarissa Savage flies solo. I can figure this Green Lantern stuff out myself.”

“No you can’t.” Clarissa looks at you like you just stepped on a baby. “You need training, you need to train with the finest the Green Lantern Corps has to offer. That means going with me to Oa.”

“What’s Oa?” she asks. You look at her like SHE just stepped on a baby. “Is that like in a Japan or something?”

“You-“ You groan. You do not have time for this! “Ugh… Look-“ You turn to Red Tornado. “Listen, Rouge. I have to take her to Oa. I don’t suppose you would mind?”

She shakes her head, her cooking pot helmet swiveling around. “No siree! Go ahead! I still have Steel to look after, the little cutie!” Steel barks, having been here the entire time.

“Cute dog,” says Clarissa. “I’m more of a cat person though.” AS IF THIS DAY COULD NOT GET WORSE. “Fine, let’s go to this ‘Oa’ place.” You both hop off into the air and wave goodbye to Red Tornado, then blast off into the sky.

“This is Oa!” You fly over the landscape of Oa, the city of the Green Lanterns sparkling like emeralds in water. Clarissa doesn’t look very impressed though.

“Eh, I’ve seen better,” she says. What is her problem!? You both land on a platform and start walking. Kilowog should be training more recruits in his usual place. “So, you visit here often.”

“All Green Lanterns do,” you say. “It is the home of the Central Power Battery, the home of the Guardians, the spiritual home of all Green Lanterns!” You motion around to all the idle Green Lanterns flying around. “It is like… I don’t know how to explain it, Mecca!”

Chaselon flies down next to you. “Hello Green Lantern Berger!” he greets. He seems excited. “Would you like to share in refreshments and stories of our adventures?”

“Not now, Chaselon,” you say dismissively.

“Oh.” Chaselon hangs his crystalline body down. “Okay.” He drearily floats away.

“Come on, you poozers, fight! Fight!” Kilowog stands on a catwalk above a huge arena. Below him are hundreds of Green Lanterns, many of them newly inducted and now suffering under his training. “Sector Recruit 3444, your form is sloppy, get your act together, stop thinking and start imagining!”

“Monsieur Kilowog!” You and Clarissa walk up to him.

He grins, his tusks turning upwards. “Lumi, good to see you. Come to see the new recruits?”

You motion to Clarissa, who looks pretty disinterested herself. “This is Clarissa Savage my uh… Reserve Lantern. Could you show her the ropes, Monsieur?”

Kilowog grins even further. “I’d be happy to.” He motions down to the arena. “Down there are most of our new recruits. Tell you what, poozer, if you scrap with all of them and win, I’ll go easy on you with your training.”

Clarissa narrows her eyes at Kilowog. “Hmph. They don’t scare me!” She hops down into the arena, blasting the ground around her. All the recruits turn to her as she stands up. “Hello boys!” She starts projecting images of baseball players of all colors and creeds. “Time for you to meet Murderer’s Row, there’s a game on and you’re all invited!” She projects a baseball cap and a baseball bat.

… Jesus Christ, they’re getting slaughtered.

Kilowog blinks. “Wow. She’s good.” A Recruit flies over the catwalk, screaming in pain. “Very good.”

You suddenly feel very inadequate now.

A Sector Recruit runs up to her, projecting a fish from his hand.

“Oh, here comes a heater!” yells Clarissa. She prepares a giant baseball bat for him, and even makes herself a baseball helmet. She points skyward, calling a home run, then preps her hit. The Sector Recruit closes in. “Going, going…” She whacks him, sending him flying. He even smashes right through the ceiling. “Gone!”

Kilowog laughs. “That girl is a beast! And those battle projections of hers are textbook crowd control!” The baseball players she has conjured flit to and fro the arena, whacking Recruits upside the head or surprising them with fastballs to the legs and to the face, or to one unfortunate Recruit the exposed testicles. “Where did you find her?”

You shrug. “She claimed to be one of the selected, but since I was closer, she got put into reserve.”

“Whoo, she was wasted in reserve!” says Kilowog. He laughs darkly. “I better get in there and start asserting control.” He drops down behind Clarissa. “Alright Sector Recruit 2814, that’s enough-“ Clarissa whacks him with the bat, sending him flying across the arena.

“It’ll be enough when I say it’s enough!” yells Clarissa.

Kilowog recovers, tossing stone and rock debris off of him. “Now we’re talking,” he growls. He projects a giant Warhammer and charges. Clarissa runs at him, bat held high and her baseball players behind her.

You sigh. She’s already got the respect of Kilowog. Your ears perk up a bit. You look over to see Ganthet and another Guardian floating down the hall, discussing something.

Hm, your father never taught you to eavesdrop. But you’re totally going to eavesdrop. You quietly tiptoe over to the hallway, then silently slink in behind them.

“… and of course, this cycle has been very trying for all of us. But the Green Lantern Corps is not a military, expanding it to double its number is a mistake we made with the Manhunters!” says Ganthet. “Manpower alone will not win us any wars or engagements.”

“Ganthet, you prod and poke with baseless emotions again,” says the Guardian. “These times are trying. Legion may be defeated, but he has not yet been confirmed to be dead. He could be out there consolidating. Worse yet, the Red Lanterns have made forays into Sectors protected by Green Lanterns! We must show them that the Green Lantern Corps is more than just willpower.”

“Willpower alone will not win against our enemies,” says Ganthet. “What if the prophecy of Blackest Night-“

“Is still as useless as the day we wrote it. We predicted it, and for millions and millions of cycles, nothing has happened to prove it will happen.” The Guardian and Ganthet pause in the hall, then turn to face each other. “Ganthet, you look into things too much.”

“I may. But I acknowledge the possibilities. And I took acknowledge the possibility that we need more than willpower. Perhaps we need hope.”

“Hope!?” The Guardian rises above Ganthet. “Such a useless emotion on its own. Ganthet, you tread dangerous waters. This discussion is over.” The Guardian floats away, leaving Ganthet in the dust. Ganthet hangs his head low, then turns around, only to find you.

“Oh, Green Lantern Berger.” That’s the first time you’ve seen him, or any kind of Guardian, look sullen. “Good to see you.”

“What happened?” you ask.

Ganthet only says, “The Green Lantern Corps is preparing for war. It is on the horizon, the enemy is not yet known, but we know it is coming. I argued against the expansion of the Corps, because the last time we expanded our police force, it made things much harder on us.”

“Why?”

“I cannot say, it is a closely guarded secret of the Guardians. All we can say is that the Manhunters were our previous force, and they failed and rebelled. Worlds burned,” he says. “In the meantime, the other Guardians must look to strength through numbers. I would prefer strength through other means.”

You nod. Ganthet is a helpful little blue gnome. Perhaps you should repay that. “Is there anything I can do to help?”

“I am afraid there is nothing you can do to help me now, Green Lantern.” He starts floating away.

“Wait!” He pauses. “… Without hope, why would you have will?” His eyes widen at that. “I have hope.”

It is under close guard, and the other Guardians will never let it leave Oa. I need you to bring to Mogo. There he can begin selection for the first Blue Lanterns.”

You nod. “Blue Lanterns.” Huh, you were about to start the Blue Lantern Corps. Okay. “Well, d’accord. Where is it?”

“In the Citadel. You will need to figure out a way inside…” He groans, rubbing his forehead. “Oh, if only I had access to the Vault. D-Do you think we could possible to PERSUADE Professeur Sinestro to join us on our romp through the galaxy?
>>
> “Um, can we talk, Chaselon?”

You grab Chaselon by his crystalline structure and pull him away. He yelps in surprise. “I need to talk to Chaselon for a second, Monsieur Ganthet.” Ganthet nods, allowing you to drag Chaselon away to some place secluded. “Chaselon, I need your help.”

Chaselon blinks, his eyemask turning upwards in confusion. “Of course, Green Lantern Berger, I would be happy to help you. Do you need to make use of my bodily structure?”

“No!” you yell. He shrinks downwards. “Look- I… you have access to the secure vault, correct?”

“Of course,” he says. “The Guardians allow me to take artifacts from there to examine and study. Why do you ask?”

“There is something in there I need,” you say. “Something important. Can you get me in there?”

“Oh, the Guardians would never allow that, only those with authorization into the Secure Vault are allowed into the Secure Vault, and under armed guard as well!” he says.

Oh… this is going to require some persuasion.

You lick your lips. “Oh, Chaselon, I’m disappointed.” He tilts to the side, confused. “You know… I always loved the way your crystal structure shines.”

“Really?” he says. “I was told I was the dullest.”

“Oh, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” You kneel down to his level, smiling. “Chaselon, I would be so grateful if you could get me into that vault.” He turns away, apparently not wanting to talk more of it. You grab his headfin and turn him back to you. “Oho, where are you going?”

“Green Lantern Berger, the Secure Vault is for-“ You take off your glove. “… for authorized personnel only.” You run your hand along his crystalline plates. Cold to the touch, but warming when you caress his body. “Oh- oh dear.”

“Chaselon… would you do this one thing for me?” You turn your lips into a pout, the sexiest kind of pout you can muster. “Just this once. And I can… I would do whatever you would ask of me. Whether it be experiments in physics, chemistry…” You lean in, your lips close to touching his mask. His eyes are wide open, regarding yours. “… biology.”

Chaselon has turned red in an apparent full body blush. “Oh dear, it appears I am experience sexual arousal, um- I…” He shakily twirls around, trying to recover himself. “O-okay. I can get you into the Vault. But promise me you will not steal anything important!”

You grin, patting him on the side. “It’s just one thing, I can explain on the way, alright?” You and him quickly get moving out of the building. “It’s a Power Battery, a blue one.”

“A Blue Lantern?” asks Chaselon.

“Yep. Shouldn’t be too hard to find,” you say. You both fly off for the Citadel.

A pair of Green Lantern guards in heavy construct armor block your progress. “Authorized personnel only.”

Chaselon floats up to them. “I am authorized.” He presents his ring. “Green Lantern Berger is with me.” The guards glance at each other, then nod to Chaselon. They step aside to allow you entrance. The Secure Vault is surprisingly small, almost like a bank vault. You were expecting something much more impressive. Chaselon plants his ring on the door, which slides to the right into the wall.

You both go inside to see a huge storeroom of various objects, artifacts, and other treasures the Guardians have accumulated.

Okay, finding this Blue Lantern may be harder than you thought.

“Search with me, Chaselon.” He nods, and you all begin walking through the storeroom. You walk past such ancient relics of times gone past. Crystal which glow yellow, green crystals labelled as “Kryptonite”, a giant robot of some kind, and other things.

Then you see it, lying in some dusty corner, is a glowing blue Power Battery. There, you just had to have some hope! You quickly pick it up.

“Green Lantern Berger.” You freeze, and turn to see a Guardian, looking at you with a glare. Only this time, this glare is actually filled with some malice behind it. “What do you think you are doing with that Power Battery?”

> “I was going to study it.”

You blink, turning around. “I was just going to study it with Chaselon.”

The Guardian floats up to you. “Oh really? Do you not understand what you are holding?” You shrug. “That Power Battery runs off a specific color of the emotional spectrum, hope. There, you know all you need to know about it. It is worthless to us, useless on its own. Now put it back where it belongs.”

Chaselon floats over. “Actually, Guardian. I was hoping to study the Blue Lantern further, to understand the effects of hope upon willpower.”

“There is no need, Chaselon,” says the Guardian. “If anything, that Power Battery will be scrapped when we get a chance to. Now put it down.”

You look down at the Lantern, then over at Chaselon. “Bye.” You blast past the Guardian.

“Get her! Seize her!” yells the Guardian. The Guards come to block the door. Oh merde!

Chaselon flies overhead, constructed drills raised. He bashes one guard out of the way and pins another to a wall. “Go, Green Lantern Berger, I will distract the Guards!” he yells.

“Merci beaucoup!” you yell. You continue running. The Guardian flies over you, really not having it today. You fire an energy blast through the wall and fly out of the Citadel and upwards.

A pair of Guards fly in. “NO ONE ESCAPES THE GUARDIANS,” they yell. They present a giant wall in your path.

> Manifest something

You take a page from Chaselon’s book and rear up your arm. Around it forms a gigantic drill. It starts spinning, whining as it gets faster and faster. You charge at the Guards and smash the wall to bits, scattering them.

You start flying off further. “Don’t let her escape!” says a Guard. He projects a grapple hook to catch you. You withdraw your drill and send out something a little more unconventional.

He pulls back on a construct of Arsène Lupin. “Ah, greetings!” he says. “It appears I’ve served as a distraction for you while my master gets away!” He and the Guard look to see you fly off into the distance. The Guard looks back incredulously at Lupin. “Well, bon voyage!” He jets away with jetpack to catch up with you.

You manage to get off scot-free.

> GREEN LANTERN BERGER.

You set foot on Mogo’s wonderful surface. “Hello, Mogo!” You place down the Blue Lantern. “Has Ganthet sent word?”

> HE HAS GIVEN ME INSTRUCTIONS, CLEAR AND SPECIFIC.

You nod. “How so?”

> GUIDE THE RING.

The Blue Lantern ring starts shining, glowing blue as it rises up in the air. Then, it starts shaking. Suddenly, it splits in half, and quickly they both reform into two complete Lanterns. The first shoots off into the sky, like a shooting star.

“Where is that Lantern going, Mogo?”

> THERE IS A PERSON ON A DYING WORLD, WHOSE HOPE OUTSSHINES ALL OTHERS. HE WILL MAKE A FINE BLUE LANTERN, AN EXEMPLAR OF HOPE.

You hold the other Lantern, it still glows. You can see a ring, spinning slowly within it. “And this one?”

> THIS LANTERN WILL GO TO ANOTHER, UPON THE FIRST LANTERN’S RECRUITMENT.

You nod. “Okay, Mogo.” You place the Lantern down, but it quickly fires off into the air, surprising you. “… okay. Well. Who will that one go to?”

> THERE IS SOMEONE ON MY SURFACE, WHO WILL MAKE A FINE BLUE LANTERN.

You cross your arms, and look over at a little column of smoke. It comes from a log cabin, and you can see Eudora step out of it, bow in hand and a quiver of arrows on her back. She smiles happily. The Blue Lantern hovers above her home, without her notice.

Well, isn’t that not obvious.

Still… something is out there. You’re not sure if you’re ready for it.
