After his untimely death on a plane crash, our MC, a young fa/t g/uy and chemical engineer, finds himself reborn to a world of swords and magic.

Reborn with full memories of his past life, Eldric is now a 9yrs old student in Albion city's magical college.

Well, right now we're on vacations, anyway. Visiting Opal City, capital of the dwarven kingdom in the Stonewall Mountains.

Investigating about the fabled Cauldron of Plenty, an artifact that is said to be the main source of the invading Alquian empire's seemingly endless supply. we have found that it is not quite inexhaustible as legends would have you believe.

It must be fed with metal, large quantities of it, which is then converted into a substance such as food by some alchemical mean.

Investigating about large metal shipments leaving the city, we took Aura, a friendly succubi bodyguard, Brass, a powerful barbarian wolfman, and Lyann, our adopted/bought sister, and found out the address of a merchant that has been sending out large shipments of metal in the direction of the enemy.

if someone is shipping it via an intermediary, than finding out the specifics and reporting it to them will likely result in putting a stop to it...

I should get surgery but i cant afford it and at the public hospital they just want to give me eyedrops that arent really helping

Well, it depends on how you look at it, Glaucome causes "puzzle piece" holes to fall off my visual field. The eyedrops cause my whole visual field to become incresingly foggy, but i dont lose pieces

The eyedrops are making my life hell, but the hospital doesnt wants to do surgery

Only some of it. Im too blind to do all of it anymore. And to think a couple years ago i was happily doing drawthreads for /tg/

As for the beast warriors going tag on eachother, theres a limit to how many times you can use that per round.

Oh, and some friend got me a link to some british comedians. I just saw this happening...

Can I help you sir?
Yes, we were thinking on adopting a child, a smart, athletic, bright child who could cheer up our lives
So you want a tom sawyer who is also a Usain Bolt and a lightbulb?
Ah, yes, and if we could adopt him today, that would be great
So, y ou also want me to skip on your background checks, and just hand you one of my children, giftwrapped, this very moment?
I'm sorry?
Do you want a child to raise and love into a person, or a fashion accessory to show to your friends? are you some sort of deviant who wants a free slave? what are you doing in my orphanage?
Uhmm... what happened to the blue girl, the cute one, with the horns? she was rather friendly
She's gone. They're all gone, and we're back!
Who?
The incredibly aristocratic people who still believe in rising children properly with love and care!

all I am hearing is "free XP and loot".

Also, its not just illegal trade, its illegal WAR trade. there is an entire faction that wants our head because we are the crown prince (effectively, technically NOT!Royalty) and dad is the general of our nation fighting them.

Heck, the other day we stopped a kidnapping (and probably assasination) of a royal classmate.

so what i am saying is... those people are already our enemies. Levelup harder.

its odd that the hospital doesn't want to do surgery since surgery is the ONLY treatment for glaucoma (and what it does is stop further vision loss, the vision lost cannot be recovered)

Anyways, can you actually afford to go blind? doing the surgery, then going through bankruptcy and starting over economically might be preferable to going blind. aside from quality of life, you are going to have tremendous difficulty working with full blindness.

Also, glaucoma WILL progress until full blindness. its famed for how gradual the vision loss is, so its easy to underestimate it.

Also, how much is it? maybe we can do a donation drive to at least mitigate the cost.

Following the rumours, we learnt that the cauldron is being fed with vast shipments of metal. Since we were able to secure a fair amount of metal after a short trip to one of the local dungeons ourselves, it seemed obvious to asl the caravaneers and merchants about any large shipments they are sending south.

Unfortunately, our fears proved right, and soon enough we found a caravan leader who told us he had been delivering large quantities of metal bars to a southern town.

He didin't know what it was for. He's just a transporter, after all.

We are currently outside the offices of the dwarven merchants who have been dispatching the metal.

Bad motherfuckers are probably worth a LOT of XP and loot.

>or make a summon and have it try to seduce them... actually can we speak through a summon?

You really shouldnt be able to but im willing to allow it just because it would be too funny to see Lyann's reaction as her lookalike summon talks lewdly to the merchant. I assume we would have to dress it up in something that doesnt looks like 1/2 transparent magic given shape

anyway, I guess we are going to talk with the other smiths and suppliers of raw materials.
***

As it turns out, adventuring for raw materials is a healthy industry in this world. Groups of adventurers go into dungeons and then sell materials to smiths on a daily basis.

Asking around, however, reveals that sending out large shipments of it is rather uncommon. The best smiths are right in town, after all, so only rarely and in small amounts, if ever, does any ore get shipped out to begin with.

It is not illegal per se, however, since the only controlled shipments are weapons and food. The merchants are not technically doing anything illegal, and they may not even know what their ores are being used for, or by whom.

"Uh... well, this is rather above me, young lord. Can't we just tell them about the cauldron and have them stop the shipments?" -asks Brass while scratching his back with his maul as if it was a little branch

"I say we just inform the king and let him handle it." -says Lyann

"Hey, can we go to that tailor you had make Lyann's robes? I'd like to get one to show off to my master" -says Aura, totally worried about other stuff

***
This time im going to be open-ended
What do you guys want to do?

Go talk to Honoria, and let her know our suspicions. We're in a foreign nation's capitol and we should inform them of any operations we undertake in their territory.
>>
>>35565283
The summon clones sounds too funny to pass up. I say we do that, just so we get all the incriminating info. They won't be able to tell it's not a real person right?
>>
>>35565370
It's semi-transparent and all one color, so it's pretty obvious it's a magical construct.
>>
>>35565283
>You really shouldnt be able to but im willing to allow it just because it would be too funny to see Lyann's reaction as her lookalike summon talks lewdly to the merchant
I really want to do this because hilarious.

... but this is a serious issue and we must do it right. so I say we tattle the king and let him clamp down on it.
Also, tell our godfather and have him send letters to our family. I am sure they can apply political influence to their other allies to clamp down on such shipments to their enemies.
>>
>>35565370
Sorry, to be honest, summons are a glowing mass of magic so as funny as it would be, they would probably be able to tell.

But I guess we could make a charisma or appearance check to try to fool them into thinking its just some weird race? or make them just so hot they want to believe?

But yeah, honestly, this
>>35565452

But Im hoping we will use the summons to further tease Lyann at some point in the future. Oh, and what do you want to do with Stella? because I want to have her and Mako playing together when you go back to the palace and need to know if its two girls playing or a girl and a puppy.
>>
>>35565506
Seducing incriminating secrets is a pretty bad prospect anyways...

We rescued the elfgirls who were being stolen, and freed Brass and Stella. Stella is a wolf-tribe girl so she's our monstergirl now.

We've been leveling her up a little, and that triggered her race's passive, causing her to grow up.

Oh, also, I'm going to write the thread on 1st person as an experiment. I just find it so presumptuous to write "you do this" and "you do that". Plus when I read it, it feels like the author is being boddy. ~I~ feels much more friendly so im trying it out for now. If you guys want me to go back to 2nd person, let me know

****

Well, I took Aura to the tailoring shop where we got Lyann's robes done. She actually had money, tho I'm sure it came out from Okaba's pockets.

She calls it her snack money

Okaba, just how much does this girl eat? that's too much money for snacks, you know?

Well, after Aura had fun at the tailor, we made out way back to the palace.

Mako was outside, playing in the gardens with a petite brown girl with dog(?) ears.

Ah... it may sound king of wrong of me to say this from the body of a 9yrs old child, but seeing children play really it's soul-healing, you know?

Well, they're both cute, too. That surely adds to the healing.

As we approach, the girls run over to greet us. Mako is wearing a soft-looking summer dress and sandals, and her friend is wearing a nearly identical dress, albeit she's on bare feet.

Yep, its a cute child. A cute wolf-tribe beastman child of about our age.

"Brass! Pick me up!" -she goes straight to brass and lifts her arms as if expecting a ride

"Sure, sure" ~well, Brass seems to know her...

A few moments later, he explains it to us when he notices me looking at him

It seems the beastmen tribes have an amazing feature. Normally, someone's class reflects their age, but on the beastmen, their class can also affect their age. Up to a point.

When we left Stella in the palace, she was about 3, but we had just leveled her up to level 9. And just after a few hours, she's grown up this much already.

That's just... well, that's really fast. I wonder just how fast can beastmen grow? This really is a world with its own rules, you know?

Anyway, Brass doesn't seem upset with this. And Stella looks healthy.

I'm a bit worried on what her education is going to be like. When we go back to Albion, do we send her to preschool or sign her up for college?

No... wait, there's no formal education in this world, I guess we'll sign her up as a first year, then?

I imagine Mako got her those clothes, by thw way.

"..." ~the princess says something while looking up at Stella while the brown-skinned wolf girl gets comfortable on Brass' shoulders

"My princess wants Stella..." -says one of her shadows
"...to stay and play with her some more" says the other

Brass looks at me as if I would have something against it for some reason.

"I don't mind if that's what Stella wants" ~I say

Some questions I had from last thread:
Is it the Magic Ripper ability that lets Rob eat spell effects? If it's supposed to be Chosen of the lady, the text needs to be changed to reflect that.
Can Krys Knife work with Garsman?
How does sword god duelist passive interact with actives like krys knife or sidewinder?
Is there any way to tell the mpd/pdv/armor/sr of a target? More generally, enemy info spells?
How does elemental resistance interact with SR?
Can you have both the Lord and Marshall auras active at once?
Do songs stack with auras?
Can things like chairs and carriages have card slots?

Balance issues:
Druid does [wisdom] damage to all targets in a 60 foot area, archdruid can stack that up to [charisma] bonus times. You basically have a walking tactical nuke. 8mp for 300*10 damage.

Bladedancer doesn't have a rage skill - does that mean he can't use barbarian abilities?

Brass looks back at Stella, and she nods with a smile, so he lowers her down to the ground and she hugs Mako as if she was a doll.

Well, she is rather adorable, after all.

"I thought you'd want her to grow up quickly so she would be useful to you" ~says Brass. It doesn't sound like an accusation, just a statement

"I had no idea this would happen" ~says Eldric~ "Now I feel bad about forcing her to grow"

"Ah, it's not really thought of as a bad thing among beastmen, young lord. Don't worry about it."

"Oh, I'm going to go find master" ~says Aura~ "You guys don't need me to guard you inside the palace, right?"

Aura bids farewell to the group, and walks off after Okaba. That girl is way too carefree.

Soon after, we ask one of the palace servants for Honoria, and meet her in the palace's armory.

Explaining the situation to her, she nods and listens quietly...

"Well, I understand. I will try and explain to the guild masters about this, and get them to stop sending ores out for the time being. If you are right, this should be an important blow to the Alquian army, Eldric"

>Could you post them? I dont remember any reason, off the top of my head, why there would be a problem

Krys Knife – While using stealth, you can do a basic melee attack with a +35% chance to score a critical hit

Garsman – As a free action after a charge, you can do a number of basic melee attacks equal to the number of Rage battle techniques you know. These attacks cannot be enhances by Weapon Tricks. You can use this battle technique a number of times per encounter equal to the number of Rage battle techniques you know.

I'm wondering if all the basic attacks granted by garsman can be affected by the +35% crit chance?

>Well, elemental resistance would probably work against energy damage regardless of the source being a spell or not, while SR is only against magic

I was asking more about the order of operations. Like, does elemental resistance get applied before SR or after?

e.g. we attack a monster weak against fire that has 50 SR with a fireball that does 50 damage. Does the monster take (50*1.5)-50 damage or (50-50)*1.5 damage?

Garsman only works after a charge, and Krys Knife only works while in Stealth.
I don't think you can do both.

We join Mako and Stella while Brass goes to sell the loot in town. We promised to take Stella home later, and pick up our share of the money at that time

Brass nods, and takes off towards the market.

"..and this is how upi make a flower crown" ~Mako is actually talking to Stella

Is it just us she has trouble talking to, or is it that she doesn't has a trouble talking to Stella?

Well, her voice is lovely to hear, anyway.

"Ah... don't worry, Eldric. Mako is just shy around almost everyone" ~Lyann hugs us from behind.

Ah, Lyann is wonderful, she can read our heart so well, sometimes.

Also, she's really soft and huggable.

Well, we play with Mako and Stella for a bit before going looking for Honoria. As it turns out, Stella tends to run on all four sometimes, which it's sort of bad (or is it good?) in a short dress.

Well, she's a child, so right now it wouldn't be an issue even if she was running around in the buff. We'll have to tell Brass to talk about it to her if we are going to keep helping her level up, tho.

Also... there's a little golden star next to her name tag, floating on top of her head.

Uh...

We send her a party invitation and she accepts it right away. We explain to her that we just want to check something, and that she should just keep playing with Mako

She happily nods and runs back to the garden

Well, she got over her timidity pretty quickly. Just a few hours ago, she couldnt even look us in the eye.

Only on the first attack because stealth breaks apart after any attack or ability

>>35566502
that's more of a passive, unless you want to add it a mana cost to raise its power slightly

4MP - Dancing Charge: You gracefully charge ahead. This charge needs not be in a straight line, but cannot exceed twice your Mv Spd. You can charge through uneven terrain, and ignore foes along the way to your target.

>>35566502
>Assassin/Weaponthane: Stealth on round 1, charge on round 2
that would work but after the charge you lose stealth. You may get to [stp´] the target, tho

Shifter -- A secret beastmen job granted as a boon to lost children of the beastmen tribe in order to survive. Shifters can take on the aspect of their tribe's spiritual liege, and need not ever worry about being unarmed, for they always have the fangs and claws of their tribe's protector at the ready.

Oh... I see. A secret job, uh? the stat gain per level is higher than a normal basic job, too.

Checking her job bar.. she also has Beast Warrior. It is similar, but expands on her rage powers rather than letting her shapeshift.

She is currently a lvl 1 Shifter, but it doesn't looks like she has used that ability yet. Perhaps we could change it to beast warrior?

Should we?

* Yes, we can afford giving her pretty good gear, there's no need for her to use fangs and claws. Plus the attribute gain from Beast warrior is just 1 less point overall, but is nicely spread out amongst all her attributes
* No. Shifter its interesting, and her attribute gain it's much more focused around combat attributes, which she'll need.
* Unlock Beast Warrior so she gets all its extra powers, but let her level as Shifter
* She already has Shifter abilities unlocked, let her level as Beast Warrior. She'll retain shapeshifting anyway

ah, that seems alr-- wait... hit, wasnt it each time you kill an enemy?

Anyway, beast warrior has stat gain on every attribute, while shifter is combat focused.

As for the jobs THEY unlock at level 20, beast warrior unlocks totem warrior, and shifter unlocks predator. They're very different jobs that get stronger abilities the more levels you have on them, so keep that in mind

>>35566708
Shifter+

>>35566778
beast warrior+

>>35566778
The only problem is that you need shifter 20 to unlock predator, and beast warrior 20 to unlock totem warrior.

Predator lets you modify your beast and hybrid forms, letting you eventually grow wings, and raises the damage and accuracy of your attacks enormously, which means your Maul and Hunger from shifter will trigger a lot more often and for many hits. It also lets you eat the bodies of the fallen to prevent them from being resurrected, which is useful against undead if you dont have a class that can exorcise them in the party. Otherwise they just keep respawning forever

Totem warrior gives you nice attribute boosts and odd and exotic powers. It even lets you directly cause attacks to miss you as a sort of "emergency button" or "perfect dodge", which you can press once per fight to cause an attack to miss you

Ah anon was nice enough to post both, thanks anon!

This seems like a good place to post Job Suggestions:
Water God Tradition Duelist should use heavy armor, not light.

Rework of Sword God Tradition: The Sword God weapon trick changed so it only gives +initiative. Sword of Light replaces fleche - Attack one target, do bonus damage equal to the difference in initiative. Only works on targets you have higher initiative than. Gives -50 pdv/armor against that target. Double just doubles the bonus from sword god style weapon trick every 10 levels.

New Elemental Tricks:
Echo spell - same spell, same target, same mana cost as last spell cast by anyone in combat.

Star elemental type - requires 3xhybrid, 50 elemental skill. Lets you cast untyped damage spells at 4x your normal mana limits.

Cannot by hybridized.

Spell shield - requires wall, 60 elemental skill. Select int bonus/2 targets. Create a small mobile wall that hovers near you. Any attack by those targets against you is intercepted by the wall. Wall has normal durability and HP. Can use painwalls if you have the trick.

Pierce Magic - requires spell penetration. Halve the damage of any attack spell, and instead lower a target's SR by the difference, up to 3/4 of the target's SR rounded down. Lasts until the end of your next turn.

Dense Magic - requires Pierce Magic. +30 mana surcharge on spells that does not affect damage. Renders a spell immune to abilities that negate magic. Guardian trick is a specific exception.
>>
>>35566881
they are both really really good.

And beast form allows you to remain humanoid if you want and retain access to your armor and weapons.

the shifter line comes with some interesting utility (flight, shapeshifting in general), more HP, and more damage (double damage from eating)

the warrior line comes with some control abilities (such as knockdown) and the ability to trade damage (let enemy hit you to attack them at +50 and deal double damage).

its a really tough decision, but I am ultimately gonna go with the warrior line and aiming for totem.
>>
>>35566671
>* Unlock Beast Warrior so she gets all its extra powers, but let her level as Shifter
>* No. Shifter its interesting, and her attribute gain it's much more focused around combat attributes, which she'll need.
>>
>>35566983
>its a really tough decision

Why? She can do both. We don't lock her out of anything by picking one over the other right now. All it does is modify which class she unlocks first.
>>
>>35567003
Shifter first.

Maybe she does both later if we unlock scion cor her.
>>
>>35567003
reaching higher levels takes a lot of effort over a long time. and the rewards for sticking with one a quite good.

Also, she can't use the abilities of the disabled class, only the attribute points.

Some scion job combination possibilities, then

Basic job packages
-Defense:Bladedancer(armor/SR per adjacent)+Knight(Armor/sr per adjacent)+Justicar(armor/SR)+Courtesan(PDV/MDV)+Master monk(Immune to basic attacks)
-Crit:Artisan(passive)+Lord(sharpness aura)+Ginaz Swordsman(offensive stance)
-Anti-magic:Weaponthane(either magic ripper or chosen of the lady), Fedaykin if you want additional cleanse.

Shit gets real Job Combos:
Defense+Antimagic+Crit+White Monk(roundhouse)+Devadasi(adjacent HP drain)+Seducer(Adjacent MP drain)+Champion(regen)-Tank that forces everyone into melee and will. not. die.

Crit+Fedaykin(Move action stealth)+Fremen(stealth on crit)+Shaman(extra move action)+weaponthane, ranger(3x damage from stealth) is unlocked - Start by going into stealth, then charge an enemy. Garsman means you'll hit it like 8 times out of stealth, the ranger sneak attack means you do triple damage on hits out of stealth. Crit chance is high, so you may auto-stealth and get additional 3x damage and +crit chance on the next hit. If the target dies, use a move action to stealth and then charge another target.

Crit+Botanist(turn to frog)+Cook(bonus crit against animals)+Fremen+Feydakin. Turn a target into a toad and enter stealth. Attack target out of stealth with krys knife - crit chance is 100%. Autostealth triggers, keep attacking toads on your turn.
>>
>>35567107

ALL of the jobs

Only time you want to disable jobs with scion is when you are attempting to grind lowbie mobs for one specific job. but its better to just enable them all and fight tougher monsters or just kill mobs faster.

While thinking about Stella's job, Eldric makes his way towards Honoria, together with Lyann.

This time, he finds the dwarf princess talking with her guards outside her room.

Asking her about the orcs...

"Well, the Brassclaw orcs are rather civilized, for orcs... that means they have actual towns and cities, and fortresses, instead of wandering about in small tribes. They even trade with us when times are peaceful enough." ~Honoria explains while offering Eldric some orange slices she's just peeled for him and Lyann

"Thank you" -the lovely redhead says as she accepts it and starts nibbling on it

"I am not saying you can expect them to sit and talk with you over a cup of tea, but at least they stopped eating other sentient species a long time ago." ~she finishes

"Well, the rumours say that they're supplying the Alquians."

"That is... possible. They do have some dungeons of their own, and even some crude weapons smithing techniques... but if the Alquians are buying weapons from them, they must have really low standards for quality"

"I'm more worried about raw metal. The cauldron, remember?"

"Ah... well, we can't really forbid the orcs from selling their metal to whoever they want And we cant send a extermination campaign against them at the moment. Perhaps..."

"Yes?"

"Perhaps we could try and clean their foodgeon"

Lyann chockes on the orange slice as Honoria says that

>>
>>35567182
Wouldn't cleaning out the foodgeon mean they starve? At the very least they'd lose their source of protein and you kinda need that to live healthily. Is the goal extermination through starvation or forcing them to move? Either one will halt trade with the enemy for some time but I'd like to have the end goal clarified.
>>
>>35567182
>"Perhaps we could try and clean their foodgeon"
what would that do?

also, another option is that we talk to them and convince them to willingly not do it. maybe solve some problem for them (maybe the rumored dragon was hitting them too). or maybe prove our strength in an arena fight.

I would rather earn their respect as a honorary orc and wandering hero than their hate for sabotaging their nation. plus orc waifu

In this case you can because they are all [Rage] abilities. The only problem is how you want her attributes to grow, and which final job you want her to have, because that job gets better the more levels you have on it

Totem warrior gives you a +1 to an attribute of your choice per level (bringing its total up to par with predator, and later surpasing it

Predator doesnt gives you so many attribute points, but it does give you the only actual straight out bonuses to hit and damage, permanently, without a buff on you. And it lets you remove fallen enemies from the field to stop them from being resurrected , or respawning, and gives you ANOTHER bonus to hit.

So, do you want to hit a lot for heavy damage, or do you want better attributes?

*****
"You mean reaching the bottom of their dungeon and taking out the dungeon heart, right?"

"Right. That kills the dungeon. Well, the structure will remain, as will any remaining monsters, but they will become normal monsters and stop respawning. I doubt they have the resources to make a new, artificial dungeon."

"How did they get one to begin with"

"Sheer luck, I imagine. There ARE natural dungeons, after all"

"Uhmm... and could we just walk in and do that?"

"We could go into the dungeon same as everyone else. I'm not saying it would be easy, either. Its a dungeon 40 floors deep, or maybe deeper"

"Alright... I'll think about it, thanks."

***
Alright, lets settle Stella's job meanwhile, please vote remembering that both Predator and Totem Warrior, later, are better with more levels in them. Shifter or beast warrior arent that big a difference. We can unlock all the abilities of one and then get the other, but in the end, do you want her to be combat-focused, or more well rounded?

*Shifter -> Predator. Let's make her a combat beast
*Beast Warrior -> totem Warrior. Well rounded is the way to go

How about we consider telling them about it when we get home? We can talk with mom about it first. She already knows that we can see and change Jobs on the fly, so I think that telling her that we can see a Job at the end of the Slave Class wouldn't shock her too much.

This sounds like a really cool yet really bad plan
without their dungeon to harvest, they will be forced to return to the days of old, roving bands that eat other sapient creatures instead of civilized people.
its an awful thing to do to them just to stop them trading.

I would ideally want to become this honorary orc and hero so they could do it for us. maybe get them trading with our nation.

Less ideally would be to instigate a coup through some other orc faction.
although it is certainly more risky for us compared to killing the dungeon.

I am wondering though, are there great rewards for clearing out a dungeon.

oooor.. another possibility is to kill their dungeon, and then have the coalition swoop in with aid to create an artificial foodgeon for them to replace it, in exchange for diplomacy.

honestly though the whole thing sounds like it would take quite a while. I am tempted to go do the wood thing first and then go deal with the orcs

each dungeon is different. The final boss of X dungeon may be a monster made of magic absorbing crystals which could make you immune to enemy spells (or at least highly resistant), or maybe the dungeon its so old that its begin spawning other dungeons and corroding the countryside, in which case destroying it would be considered heroic.

"I guess I'll think about it, thank you princess"

We excuse ourselves and leave. Well, it looks like we got bigger things to worry about.

For now, let's switch Stella into Totem Warrior. It will give her some instant, easy attribute and abilities gain, at least.

"Eldric, you are not really considering to try and clear a whole dungeon, right?" ~asks Lyann as she walks with us, by now used to the way her robes float off her body with every step

I guess people can get used to anything, but just in case..

"You look really pretty like that"

Yup, bright red blush from head to toe, and frozen in her tracks, too! She's just so fun to tease...

"Ah, sorry, sorry"

"Eldric, y-you meanie... I'm only wearing this because you said you liked it!" -she blurts out, and then notices what she said, and blushes up even more

"Alright, I'm sorry I'm a meanie. Let's go?"

"Please?"

We resume walking towards the garden where Mako and Stella are busy playing.

Brass receives Stella and picks her up. Well, she's obviously tired. She played a lot, AND she grew up a lot. That HAS TO be tiring.

"Here's your part of the goods, young lord" -Brass hands us 109 gold coins

Uhmm... well, other than the staves, it was all raw materials, I supposse they wouldnt make that much money if sold inside the city itself.
"Brass, do you know about orcs?" ~Eldric asks while asking Lyann to store the money in her item box
"As much as the next guy, I guess? the tribes in the north have their own way of doing things. I've heard the local tribes are more like townsfolks, to be honest."

Meanwhile, Brass has everyone come in. He's emptied the "goods" and is currently cleaning the building previous to selling it off

We should only have Noble/Scion/Wizard active until wizard reaches 20, then swap to noble/scion/ranger/arcanist. That'll let us level up at the same rate as everyone else, which we now know is important to keep xp gain even.

btw, just so you guys know, im using the disgaea 2 exp tables, which means normal people earn a level every 5 monsters of their same level.

So in a party, if we go with 3 people, we need 15 monsters, and 6 people should be 30 monsters.

The numbers are a little skewed since we have people of many different levels.

And I wonder if we can take Brass without Stella. I mean, she's a 9yrs old who was a 4yrs old until yesterday, CAN Brass leave her alone at home?

Eldric, Lyann, Brass, Mako, Ami, Mai.

Jobs active for us: Scion, Noble, Arcanist, Ranger
Switch Ranger to Healer once Ranger hits 20.

Job active for Lyann: Healer
So that she can unlock Devadasi, but we really should go to Mamluk eventually.

Brass can level us up incredibly fast. Leaving him out is a bad idea.

Mako really needs levels, and we need to get her to start swapping out to other noble jobs. Stella is...meh for me. I'd much rather get Mako strong than her.
>>
>>35568621
Speaking of swapping out jobs, we need Mai and Ami to learn some other slave job so we can take them to a priest and unlock everything without raising suspicion. I'd suggest mamluk.

>disgaea 2 exp tables
so...
http://disgaea.gamexploiter.com/calcs/d2_enext.php
level 1 to 2 takes 3XP
Level 50 to 51 takes 7090XP
level 99 to 100 takes 98301XP
about 5x that for class levels

see, this is why I say we should have everything enabled all the time. the XP cost of levels increases exponentially while their benefits accrue linearly. meaning its better to have many lower levels.

Enabling everything at once means we fall behind the party in levels and then we get virtually no xp.

We need to have noble/scion/job1/job2 active while grinding. Nothing else makes any sense.

After leaving Stella with Kalliira, we head down into one of the local foodgeons again.

Well, as we head into floor 21, we see undead for the first time.

They don't look so spooky. More like summons that glow green rather than white, but Mako looks a little blue as she looks at them.

Well, she's a child, really. If you have a child fight spooks, of course she's going to be scared.

We show her that we are more than capable by taking them out.

This is hard to explain, but... well, normally when we win a fight, all the bodies dissapear at the same time.

However, with undead, when we knock them down, they begin a countdown from 5, same as an adventurer would, to have a chance to be ressed.

The undead, however, respawn on their own when the count gets to zero.

We do manage to take them down in the end since we managed to take them all out at the same time, and that seems to have done the trick.

So, it is a good thing we are here with friends, because taking all the monsters out at the same time would have been nearly impossible if we were alone.

Well, floor 21 is really annoying, but thankfully monsters tend to change from floor to floor.

In the case of floor 22... its centaurs.

If we didint know that these are dungeon-spawned, I would seriously question the ecology of having an open praire creature down here.

Well, it's not really a problem. Brass and Ami help us hold back the front lines so that Mai, Lyann and Mako shoot them down from afar.

Maybe we should head back? she did made it to level 18 singer already. Lyann... oh, Lyann is level 11 healer. We went a little over what we needed there... well, it's not as if it hurts her.

I guess we could have Lyann hand her mana crystal to Mako so she can recharge off it, and continue, at least until she makes it to level 20

the cost for leveing up a class from level 14 to 15 is 337.
for that price you can level another from level 1 to level 9 and halfway to level 10.
+8 levels are worth about 8x more than +1 level. This remains true as you go higher.

furthermore, XP is split up equally between all your classes. So if we are splitting it up between 20 classes we get 16.85 per class, each going up 2 levels and 85% of the next level. Lets ignore that 85% for a moment. You are still going up !FOURTY! levels for the price of ONE level.

A decent enough point. thank you for finally sharing it after several posts of useless name calling where you were too stupid to make a coherent argument and only failed at reading and comprehension.

The "crippling" in that case is of XP gain, not of power, we would be massively overpowered
This specific issue can be worked around in many ways
1. we can occasionally disable all jobs but 1 and power through tough opponents based on our stats to "catch up" like brass did. That one job that is "ahead" can be enabled and disabled as necessary to tweak our effective level compared to the party.
2. we are rotating several different parties already, so this will actually prevent us from overleveling them.
3. you are countiong just counting the XP penalty from higher levle allies and not the XP bonus from fighting higher level monsters

"That is precisely why. It will do her well to grow a little bit stronger, and now that we are at this depth of the dungeon, we can easily get her a few levels even if she stays in the back"

The twins look at eachother, then back at you.

"That..."

Of course, noone has any intention of letting Mako anywhere near the frontlines.

We go back into the dungeon, and clean up the next floor. That's more than enough to get Lyann and Mako to level 10.

We are looking at the floor boss, but technically, we are carrying to level tens with us, so... lets pass on it for now.

Looking at Lyann's stats, she has gained a fair bit of extra toughness.

So has Mako, as well.

Uh... she unlocked a new job.

[Warrior Poet] Requires Singer 10 & Knight 10
Uh... it looks interesting, but if she changed into it, since it is a 2nd tier job, it would be as if she was level 21, exp wise.

So we would need to level her to 30 before she can switch again.

Uh... are slaves too convenient, or is the high job switch requirements for nobles too harsh? it's hard to say.

Well, we wanted her to be a little tougher, and that's done.

Even if she goes back to singer and then Idol now, she can keep her armor, too.

She looks cute in her armor, and, honestly. it helps a lot to our peace of mind, knowing she's wearing it.

"Alright, let's go back for now"

I considered it before, but there are just too many things wrong with attempting to be a slave just to powergame.

MAYBE with nomad, or even villager, but considering that Brass is a pretty old guy and only just unlocked his second starter, that might take a while.

Stella is 4 years old and has two classes. It's not about age, it's experience. And powergaming is what this entire thing is all about. We're 9 years old and as powerful as a veteran fighter.

This isint really new. You guys just sort of missed it. I thought youw ere ignoring it,

I told you a few times that Brass' still counts as 58 because he's a weaponthane 18. But yes, changing him to nomad lowered his total level CONSIDERABLY so he doesnt drains as much exp anymore

Uhmm I cant find kurohime's pics either

Alright. Mako it's an idol now. That gives her 3 new songs.

6MP – Witch Hunt. Allies are purged of 1 debuff at the beginning of their turn*.
6MP – Song of Might. Add your Charisma bonus to physical attacks and damage.
6MP – Song of Magic, Add your Charisma bonus to magical attacks and damage.

Yup, those are really good

"Alright, let's go take a look at the woods? Im curious about an underground forest"

"Eldric, is it alright to go and sell the dungeon loot first?" ~asks us Lyann

We got

x24 [Mithril Bar]
x6 [Fine Mithril Bar]
2x [Fine Mithril Sword] ???slots, need to roll when we have time for it
2x [Runic Mithril Shield] ????slots, etc
x102 [Fine Steel Bar]
x302 [Steel Bar]

"I am so sorry, I never asked... do things in your item box weight anything?" ~Eldric asks with a concerned look
"No... it's just that, I think I got used to selling things at the end of a dungeon run"
"Alright, it can wait a bit, then?"
"Sure"

Your group heads over towards the woodchucking tunnels.

Indeed, as expected of dwarves, the tunnels are carefully cut and worked, even here.

The "trees" are tall and massive mushrooms. If smurfs came out from these, they would smurf us before we could even cry out smurf, surely

class has nothing to do with experience.

class has to do with actual social class.

mom can switch her class from villager to noble, because she married dad.

>I told you a few times that Brass' still counts as 58 because he's a weaponthane 18. But yes, changing him to nomad lowered his total level CONSIDERABLY so he doesnt drains as much exp anymore

Ok, I misunderstood.

In that case, we need to have a chat with Brass about him being a dancer. Tell him it'll only be for 10 levels, then he unlocks bladedancer which is extremely badass while being able to use all his rage abilities. That should lower his level to 21+, and give him xp parity.

Do you really think Mom or Dad is just going to agree to selling us, in any context of the action? At least Nomad can be unlocked if we join a tribe at some point for "cultural research" or something.

Your group runs after you towards the murdertree

Brass overtakes you, readying his maul for a blow, when the murdertree reaches down and, sensing perhaps that the wolfman is too tough to swallow whole, simply smasks it with its huge fungus cap as if it was a massive rock.

*Aura wiggles her ears again*
"What is it now?" ~asks her Okaba
"I still think m missing out"

The murdertree's massive blow isint enough to drop the wolfman, and it finishes its charge, dealing a frenzied flurry of blows to it!

Sap and mushroom bits jump about, but it looks as if a woodpecker was drumming on a tree trunk, and about as deadly for the tree in question.

Mai just stares at it.

"I'm going to need a bigger knife" -she says as she thinks on what she can do with her throwing darts

Mako sings, giving us a fair boost to attack and damage.

As we begin attacking the murdertree's trunk, it loses the ability to smash us directly, and instead, seed pods begin falling from its head, far, far above us, shooting up from its head like some kind of geyser!

"...!" ~Aura

"Look out!" Mai and Ami are busy carrying Lyann and Mako off the trajectory of the seeds.

Didint mushrooms use spores, anyway?

The seeds crack open, and reveal dozens of mushroom-like creatures, pale white with huge mushroom-shaped heads that walk in spongy legs

"Alright, I can take THOSE on!" -says Mai as she goes into stealth at the time Ami tackles the one closest to Mako

Your swings are making a dent in the giant mushroom's trunk, albeit slowly. With the effects of your gauntlet's auras, Mako's song, and your own fiery sword, you are actually making a fairly good progress against this thing.

You trust in Mako, ami and Mai to keep the mushroom men away from the princess, and go back to hacking at the monster tree.

As you progress, the plant men naturally switch targets to you and Brass.

"Young lord, keep taking it down!" ~says Brass as he charges the nearest mushroom man. He easily smashes it to pieces, and charges the next of them, repeating the process over and over.

Still, many of the mushroom men manage to close in on you, slowing you down.

Ami's swortsword is broken, and she's down to punching the mushroom men, now.

The giant murdertree shakes, and bends over to hit Mako!

(and holy fuck it missed with a roll of a 2, If I had critical fumbles tables it would break something, somehow)

There is a huge dent mark in the rocky ground where it hit. Mako is standing right on the edge of it.

Still, the small princess keeps singing, encouraging you and her friends while you try and take down the murdertree.

The mushroom men take down Ami, and up goes the death counter before her [Angel Ring] raises her automatically.

You summon a valkyrie between Ami and the mushroom men.

Well, shes level 28 now, but these things are level 30. She's doing well, all things considered.

She's even got a star next to her name now, so she probably unlocked some secret job. Well, you can guess, it's probably [Monk]

"Eldric, these things keep multiplying!" ~Lyann sounds scared as the white mushroom men keep appearing.

Brass is taking them out in droves, but the seed pods just keep falling.

Well, that's probably better than the tree itself smacking them down

You summon another valkyria, and it starts attacking the ones the closest to Lyann

Mai eappears, and freezes the mushroom men closest to her, buying a few seconds.

"Ami, go shadow!°" ~she shouts.

The twins start to go into stealth in turns, amassing a huge amount og [stp´] affected mushroom men, but even so, they keep closing in, and they don't affect all of them.

A few keep drifting towards Lyann, Mako and the valkyries.

Finally, with a howl that you never imagined would come from a plant, the tree dies.

It starts withering, but of course, it dissapears before long, together with its mushroom men.

x1 [Runic Spear of Thousand Years Wood]
x60 [Thousand Years Wood]

Uhmm.. there's no trace of the dead dwarves Their bodies probably already sublimated

Ami is gasping on all four, then she rolls unto her side, and then her back, utterly exhausted.

Mai's gauntlets are shattered, and her clothes are torn.

Lyann is at half health, but Mako is untouched

Brass is at 2k hp left

We are unhurt, of course. Our sword healing us as fast or faster than the mushroom men could damage us.

You check on Lyann and Mako. Mako is unhurt, and you can see Lyann's HP refilling at a fairly good pace thanks to her ankle cuffs.

Healing Brass all the way to full requires more MP than you have. Thankfully, outside of combat, Mako's regeneration makes that a very cheap thing, as she can heal the whole party to full for as little as 8MP, if she just have about a minute to sing for them in order to let them regenerate.

Looking at Ami and Mai, they both unlicked [Monk] after that fight.

Ami's HP is nearly empty, but its steadily going up thanks to Mako's song.

After that, both of them reached level 33
Lyann is now Mamluk 24
Mako is now Idol 5
Brass... went up one level
We went up 6 levels in out T2 jobs, and 13 levels in our T3 jobs.

It was a ridiculously huge amount of enemies.

Well, in a minute, everyone is at full HP again, so other than a few torn clothes and gear, everyone is fine.

Roll 6d100 to see the slots on the runic spear. Well keep the best out of 4 rolls
>>
Rolled 13, 53, 91, 86, 16, 5 = 264 (6d100)

>>35573145
>>
Rolled 19, 70, 93, 1, 86, 79 = 348 (6d100)

>>35573145
>>
>>35573084
no when we were power leveling with brass we got 2 pretty damn good swords and a runic shield

this is what we got

x24 [Mithril Bar]
x6 [Fine Mithril Bar]
2x [Fine Mithril Sword] ???slots, need to roll when we have time for it
2x [Runic Mithril Shield] ????slots, etc
x102 [Fine Steel Bar]
x302 [Steel Bar]
>>
Rolled 74, 80, 93, 83, 19, 100 = 449 (6d100)

>>35573145
Here we go
>>
Rolled 55, 56, 47, 27, 69, 43 = 297 (6d100)

>>35573145
>>
>>35573193
i love let me have your kids
>>
>>35573175

I wonder about that Fine Mithril bar, sounds nice.

Should we save or sell those?
>>
>>35573217
We don't know if a 27 was good enough, yet.

>>35573145
Swap Lyann to devadasi for now, I don't think we'll have any more combat today. Once we head back to the dungeon, we should change her to craftsman.
>>
>>35573145
>We went up 6 levels in out T2 jobs, and 13 levels in our T3 jobs.
DAMN!
that was awesome... also, going up so many levels is bound to make the next one easier to fight.
>>
>>35573190
ah, so close. if only that 100 and 19 were switched
>>
How does everyone feel about a giant tower shield of thousand year wood, layered with fine mithril on the outside(or whatever's better)
>>
>>35573258
He probably meant 13 levels in our t1 jobs.

>>35573246
Save the mithril, we're still almost completely equipped in fine steel. Can get someone to craft the bars into armor or weapons.

The gauntlets can be repaired. They were meant as protectors, not punching weapons, tho, so they got torn

Ami's shortsword is completely shattered, tho

[Runic] [Thousand Years Wooden Spear] [4 slots]
This spear has drunk the magic of the depths for over a thousand years!
Bonus -- This spear can switch between physical or magical damage as a free action, once per turn. It can deal damage of the [Earth] [Metal] or [Wood] type

Now roll for the shield.
6d100 as usual, lets keep the first 4 rolls
>>
Rolled 1, 28, 34, 33, 84, 97 = 277 (6d100)

>>35573297
>>
Rolled 87, 11, 26, 90, 63, 69 = 346 (6d100)

>>35573297
Here we go
>>
>>35573246
We shouldn't sell any raw material this town produces in this town, it will be more profitable to sell it at our home town once we go back to it and resume school

>>35573297

>He probably meant 13 levels in our t1 jobs.
I didn't even notice the T3 error, seemed obvious that it was as you say.
still, we went up a LOT of levels in a LOT of jobs.
>>
>>35573278

So save all mithril? Works for me

>>35573325
They do love you.

>>35573297
We should probably hand Ami one of the weapons we got as drops too
>>
I think we should unlock wood and metal elements just in case now.
>>
>>35573325
nice that should be six slots
>>
>>35573325
I rolled that and im fucking happy
>>
>>35573297
There's the spear for Lyann. Gotta card it with kobold+mp/hp drain.
>>
>>35573297
>4 slots on the spear
so that 100 got wasted because the 5th roll was bad?
>>
>>35573379
yep it works like a chain
>>
>>35573379

Yeah, still awesome spear.

Next giant shroom we fight, we go ahead and spam a bunch of summons at the start, before engaging, to handle cleanup and protecting.
>>
>>35573413
ya we should plan first then act
>>
>>35573413
Once we get lyann a good weapon, we can have her use the area damage dance for stuff like that. Should tear through the adds pretty quickly.
>>
>>35573297
now that I think of it did Lyann Unlock Freemen?
She's Level 24 Mamluk now right?
>>
Now I wonder though... is someone doing this, or is this natural?
if natural, how long has it been going for.

also, i am rethinking the orc thing in favor of dungeon grinding all day (with MP theft to recharge) until we can handle the bottomost level of the dungeon (without actually going against and killing the dungeon heart itself).

also, that 100 g a day per person when we did the dungeon delving is impressive.
>>
>>35573483
And janissary and gladiator.

We should finish off getting her T1 jobs to 20 before we get into those. The only one that's reached 20 is mamluk, currently.
>>
We got a shitload of personal stats from that fight too.

Brutal mob, was able to 1 shot people too easily however.

I wonder how many levels Ami and Mai got, since it was not specified yet.
>>
>>35573557
Yes it was. They're 33 now, they were slave 18/assassin 16 before.

[Runic][Shield of the Depths][6 slots]
This shield can act as part of an item set, if any part is missing in a item set you own.
Bonus -- This shield grants its wielder [Absorb] against [Earth] damage, and [Weakness] against [Wood] Damage.

As you study your new shield, you realize your sword is glowing.

A message icon glows in the corner of your field of view. Focusing on it opens up a message

[Bright Light of the North] Set Bonus Unlocked
2+ pieces. The user is immune to [Slow] and [Silence]
3+ pieces. Unknown
4+ pieces. Unknown
5 pieces. Unknown

Uh... that's neat.
So... my sword is actually part of a set.

We're at page 8 so im going to archive the thread and open a new one where we can talk while I update everyone's sheets, hold on

>[Bright Light of the North] Set Bonus Unlocked
Time to go hunting for the rest of the set.
>>
>>35573628
We already know our grandpa and uncle have pieces.
>>
>>35573638
Can there be duplicates though/?
>>
>>35573591
We should definitely give the 2 mithril swords we picked up to the shadows. Even Mai needs a backup melee weapon.
>>
>>35573591

Thats nifty, immune to our own silence too.
>>
>>35573685
Didn't chantless casting make us immune already?
>>
>>35573591
do we take extra damage from wood spells now because of weakness against wood
>>
>>35573704

Maybe lets us cast, but then again, it means we can hit a silence and still give commands, we could sing if we wanted, ect.
>>
>>35573591
>Immune to silence

That is amazingly useful, it means everyone *but* us in the silence effect can't cast. I swear this will fucking save our ass if we get stuck in a 1v1 duel.
>>
>>35573661
Well, the shield we just got functions as a wildcard for purposes of set bonuses, so sort of?
>>
>>35573704
>Didn't chantless casting make us immune already?
no, silence is very powerful, in addition to total silence, it also suppresses spell effects.
even a slave collar trigger curse got suppressed by it. ongoing spells remain, but anything triggerable fails.
>>
>>35573737
Actually what I meant is how in vidya you can have thousands of people with identical unique ultimate set items
they just have to grind the right bosses to get them to drop. or trade for them

like
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/tal-rashas-guise-of-wisdom
there are a bunch of people with this ultimate set item
>>
>>35573638
Right, tho you sort of dont need the shield your uncle has for the set bonus.
Well, its still a relic-class shield, of course

>>35573661
No. The shield is a wild card, an oddity

>>35573679
roll 6d100 4 times to see how many slots they have

>>35573722
yes. 50% more

>Rolled 1, 28, 34, 33, 84, 97 = 277 (6d100)

Ouch, looks like that is a crit fail, too bad.

Isn't Thousand Year Wood one of the better raw materials you can get?
