Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another (long delayed) game of Succubus Lord Quest!

Last time on Succubus Lord Quest, we met up with the Succubi Leaders of Old TO in order to discuss the new structure of the government and military, but no sooner as we finished, disaster reared it’s ugly bloated head yet again with the news of a possible Celestian Invasion now heading towards the city, a warning courtesy of our local Ayarian friend Erika. After that we got in contact with Sister Lacosta, a locally well known Miyian who is skilled in analysis and prediction, and unfortunately she backed up the claims that Erika made.

After meeting with Miyu and finding out some more information about the Beck problem, Sister Lascosta having her own suspicions but not wanting to admit them. Miyu then ordered her to find other Miyians who would be willing to break away from her and then report back to us.

Which left us off in the place of Scrying our pet Cleric to see what she was up too! This part is long, so prepare to buckle down for some reading here!

You take a small sigh as you sit back up. “I thank you for your time here Miyu, but I’m going to need to attend to other matters here now.”

“Very well, I wish you luck in the future Brooklyn, you’re going to need it.” Miyu says as her holographic image fades away.

You sit back in your chair, taking a few sips of your tea before deciding to open up a window to see how your pet is doing once again, ready to do something like jump out of the way of incoming arrows that may be headed towards your skull.

Opening the window this time you can see your pet is currently deep in prayer, praying before a drawing of an angel in what appears to be an abandoned hut outside of Old TO.

Moving your scrying window around, you can’t see anyone else in the area, meaning that it’d be the perfect time to actually begin communicating with her by opening small portals to pass her letters. Such letters like “You crazy bitch, why the hell is a celestian attack force coming towards my land?”, but perhaps in a more elegant tone.

“Let’s hope this works.” you mutter as you make some alterations to the scrying window. “Amelia, can you hear me?”

Amelia stops praying immediately, looking around the room in dire confusion. “M-Master!?” she says in a surprised whisper.

“Yes Amelia, it is I.” you reply to her in a rather stern voice. “Do you happen to know why a Celestian Invasion force is entirely prepped and ready to attack my city tomorrow?”

“M-Master I heard! I-I’m so g-glad that you managed to become Dutchess of Old TO!” Amelia says in a panicked tone.

“Don’t change the subject. Why are th... Oh no. You sent for them didn’t you?” you ask her upon realizing it.

“I’m so sorry master!” Amelia says, bowing down in the room to the point where her head is reaching the floor. “B-But the decision was out of my hands!”

You just sigh as you hear this. “Out with it, how did this come to be.”

“It happened as we were assaulting the Greed Demons, just as we were beginning our assault the revolt happened in Old TO. Caught between two forces, we barely made it out alive as the Okarians and Belkarians tore through the Greed Demon forces and even chased after us for a while. We succeeded in damaging and drawing forces away from the Greed Demons, as quite a number of their own was placed to defend their own property in their Old TO Keep.” Amelia explains.

“You did that job well then, but what happened afterwards?” you ask.

“After I divined up an audience with an Authority, we presented our case. The Authority was at first shocked by your overthrow of the government and the rise of the Succubi, but she realized that this could be the chance Celestia had been waiting for. For Celestia Canada is ripe for opportunity. Old TO is right on top of a Celestial Gate, there is ample landmass for new colonies, and the new government is forming so their might is weak. No one would come to your aid as your connections are slim. It seemed too tempted to pass up, so when the orders came back that we were the Adventurer group supposed to lead the charge... Mistress there is no way I could say no to an Authority with orders like that!” Amelia says in a pleading voice.

You just give a large sigh. “Please tell me you at least have information on them at least.” you say.

“O-Of course my master! I have full knowledge on their troops, positioning, and other details!” Amelia replies.

“Good, first what is their main objective?” you ask.

“Complete eradication of all demonic elements within the city. You’re going to be the main target of their attack master, with the leaders of the other Succubi clans and other demonic clans the secondary targets.” Amelia explains. “Things such as Werewolves, werecats, Vampires, Fae, and Mindflayers. Noncombatant demons are low priority, and will be dealt with once our control of the city is solidified.”

“Even the civilians?” you ask.

“All demonic elements.” Amelia immediately replies.

You only give a small sigh upon hearing this. You *really* wanted to give Celestia some benefit of the doubt, but for them to go as far as ethnic cleansing... “What are their forces going to be?”
>>
[4/5]

“The main force is going to be a regiment of Angels led by the Authority, which is about a few thousand. There are many angels of the First Circle within the formation, but only the Authority is going to be the Second Circle. It will function as the leader for the assault. Adventurer groups such as my own will be providing support where needed, otherwise we act independently.” Amelia replies.

“How many of each?” you ask.

“I guess about 2000 Angels and only six adventurer groups including myself. It’s only a small attack force considering the time we had to prepare for this.” Amelia explains. “I would however be careful master as there is a Hero amongst one of the groups.”

“Yes yes I know of him.” you say with a sigh, knowing your luck he may pop up during the damn fight. “How do you plan on breaching our teleport wards we set up around Old TO?”

“We don’t, we plan to split our angelic attack force into five groups and attack from five directions at once from outside your wards. One for each major road that leads into Old TO itself. Guards will also be positioned on the roads to take care of anyone who attempts to retreat.” Amelia replies.

“With Demonic civilians being executed on sight.” you say the next line.

“Mortal civilians will be given a chance to convert on the spot as well.” Amelia adds.

You shake your head at this. “Amelia, is there any way you could possibly slow this down? I began my rule after a coup which damaged some of the city, I don’t want to wake up in a week from now with only the ruins of ruins.”

“We... could attempt to rescue any Celestian followers inside of the city. Since the angels cannot send any messages to our followers, we are forced to use the tactic of escorting them through the city during the attack itself. If we can, we’d instead try and rescue them before the fighting would even start. Given how important loyal willing followers of Celestian faith are for the restoration plan of the city, they are willing to spare the time and resources needed to save them, but only if the plan is feasible.” Amelia replies. “We decided we wouldn’t, as given the placement of guards around the city, it is simply not feasible to rescue that many people with the number of people we have now and without getting caught.”

“And if I did give you the window?” you ask.

“I... think I may be able to delay the invasion by at least two days. The members of my band are no fools however mistress. If they catch on this is a deliberate plan to buy time, they will summon the assault to arrive as quickly as possible.” Amelia admits.

“Hm...” you say thinking this over.

“I... do also have the true name of the Authority if you wish to contact her with a scrying spell.” Amelia then adds.

A) Instruct Amelia to try the delaying tactic, you’ll give them the chance to execute it without her Adventuring group catching on.

B) Instruct your vassal to execute this plan, but instead you, Brooklyn, shall launch an attack to capture all the traitors. Old TO is a tempting target, but let us see how valuable these Celestian pawns are to them. (This option is kind of exclusive to the rest of the decisions)

C) Give the delay, then set up the assault with a neverending series of traps and ambushes along the way. Make them pay for every inch.

D) Have Amelia try and route a group of attacks through a different area. The Mindflayers are nice, kill two birds with one stone.

E)

1. Let them withdraw the celestian civilians. Use the time to have Luna retrieve war material from one of Miyu's armories. She should know the locations of them. Have her especially emphasize artillery.
2. We have the Leaders True Name, which makes it easy to scry on her. We also know she's about as strong as Dio. Thus, we give the true name to Luna Sutoba, who is much stronger than her. When the attack starts, Luna drops the hammer of the Authority, killing her and everyone near her about 5 seconds into the celestian attack.
3. Meanwhile the Knights of Nii are trying to ambush and kill us. Naturally, its a trap, Amelia turns midfight, and the rest die. We probably have her "die" as well for public consumption, and give her a new identity should she wish it.
4. At this point, the remaining forces are leaderless. Should they continue to attack, they will run into entrenched forces, backed by pre-sighted Miyun Artillery, which has been shelling them on their entire approach.

>>35510169
I'll second >>35510252

And now unfortunately I have to catch a few hours sleep, glad to see this back and running once more.
>>
>>35510252
Oh, should mention that we obviously don't tell her our entire plan in case she is compromised. Just the bits that she needs to know (mainly, that when an opportunity to assassinate us at the start of the battle seems to offer itself, she should take it, then support us in combat)
>>
>>35510252

I can't help but think that leaving Amelia as a Celestia Spy for us is perferable at the moment... Maybe we could engineer a situation where she gets promoted or gains more influence in her group... maybe we could kill her groups leader, wound the others and leave her to 'rally' them as we move on to the main battle...
>>
“I’ll be leaving a gap in my defenses for you to extract your civilians in. *Do not* attempt to attack my city or it’s soldiers unless you are provoked yourself.” you reply.

“Y-Yes! Of course Mistress!” Amelia replies on the other end. “Leaving evidence behind is the last thing we’d want to do for something like this!”

“As for the Knights of Ni trying to ambush me... This is easily fixed. What you’re going to do is lure them into a trap for me. They should be easy to dispose of after that.” you tell Amelia, tapping your fingers against each other.

“Um... About that...” Amelia says sheepishly.

“Are you having second thoughts?” you ask.

“If possible I don’t want you to kill any of them. I-I know they may be your enemies, but it doesn’t stop them from being good people!” Amelia tells you.

(What do you say back?)
>>
>>35510703
Defeat them first. Plus, we are probably going to blow her cover in order to take out this attack force thoroughly. And if we ever want to have her be our spy again, well it turns out that the nasty demon lord lied about killing her, and she broke out of prison. Sadistic basterd even put some mind control on her and made her his toy. Poor girl.
>>
>>35510822
"I know Amelia, and this is the best way to do that. While I can't exactly tell you my plan, your compatriots will have a far better chance of surviving if they attempt to assassinate me then if they take their chances with the main army, since I can take them alive much more easily."
>>
>>35510822
"If I can draw them into a trap, it will give me enough of an advantage that I will have a chance to capture them. In any other situation..."

“V-Very well. Where will you be then?” Amelia asks.

“If you intelligence is half as good, you’ll know.” you reply.

“V-Very well... J-Just so long as they come back alive!” Amelia replies back with some fire in her voice. She’s like Leona in a way, innocent but on the right issues they have all the power and subtlety of a volcano.

"Don't you worry my sweet little pet, we both do our jobs well and we won't have anywhere near as much innocent blood on the streets as Celestia would like, and we'll all come out of this intact and healthy.” you reply to her. “Now run along, we don't want your friends suspecting what we're planning, and take care Amelia."

“Y-Yes Mistress!” Amelia says bowing before you close the scrying window.

No sooner than you finish, there is a knocking on your door. “You have guests in your audience chamber Brooklyn.” Nalika calls out of the other side of the door.

You glance over towards your unread copy of Lusty Lizardfolk Maid Part 2 and can only lament not being able to glance at this masterpiece. “Who are they?”

“One is a Greed Demon while the other is a Mind Flayer.” Nalika replies.

“...What?” you ask. “I thought they hated each other.” you reply.

“They do, guards were positioned in order to take care of them.” Nalika replies.

You give a sigh as you get out of your chair, making way towards your audience chamber.

******

The Audience chamber is still in the same condition as it was in before. A complete and utter wreck and with most of the jewels taken out of the massive golden throne, but at least they left the padding intact. Really the only thing in the audience room now is just stone pillars, the red carpet, and the throne itself. It used to be far more decorated, but all the other Succubi burned anything Dio related, can’t say you blame them.
>>
[2/3]

As you make your way inside, you can see two people on each end of the chamber. The first appears to be a humanoid with some sort of Octopus head on top, feeder tentacles twitching about on his own mouth while on the other end a Greed demon wearing an all too familiar robe can b-

“...Ludo?” you ask as you see him.

“Brooklyn! Baby! Do you still have time for our date in that busy schedule of yours!?” Ludo asks.

“Oh fuck no. I’m not taking this.” you say turning around to leave the Audience room.

“Wait! I have a deal to offer you!” Ludo exclaims.

“You came here to beg and nothing more.” The Mindflayer says, his voice ringing out in your head and presumably in Ludo’s as well.

You roll your eyes as you make your way towards your throne, sitting down on it before looking at them both. “Alright, so what brings you both here?”

Ludo is about to speak up before you point at him. “And so help me if you *dare* say date...”

“I’ve come on behalf of the Yulis Brood with an exchange of peace, you may call me Rigil.” The Mindflayer replies as he bows towards you.

“I thought the Pride Demons banished your kind long ago from this city. Given your diet of both the psychic mind of a person and their physical brain to eat, I see little reason to let you back into the city.” you reply.

“That’s what I told him!” Ludo says using two hands to point at the Mindflayer. “But the jackass wouldn’t listen to me!”

“Do you want to settle this here Greed Demon?” Rigil asks, slowly taking out his sword at his side.
>>
3/3

“NOT in my throne room!” you bark down at the two of them. “My patience is thin right now, say what you came for or get out.”

“We’ve both come for the same thing. We both have a piece of information and wish to exchange it for a certain favour.” The Mindflayer Rigil replies.

“It’d have to be big in order for me to even consider letting the both of you in.” you reply.

“Well, my house knows a *juicy* little secret the Pride Demons want buried regarding the Miyians, and in exchange for being allowed back into the Okarian Library, we’ll give you this information.” Ludo replies.

“Our kind was experimented on by the Miyians illegally. I am not here to ask for reparations, but rather to tell you we know what Beck is trying to do and that secret she has under the Miyian University.” Rigil replies. “In exchange for this information, we want rights to start up a city state near Old TO, along with rights to take any prisoner condemned to death for food and reproduction. Our Brood swears on our spawning pool that we shall not attack any other, mortal or otherwise, under your rule.”

...Wow shit these are big pieces of information. But since the Greed Demons and Mindflayers have been rivals since the genesis of their races, they're most likely not going to cooperate nor tolerate each other, they won't agree to living anywhere near each other.

turn to Rigil "What will you do if The supply of condemned prisoners in insufficient to supply your brood?"
Turn to Ludo "You tried to blow up the library litterally 3 days ago, and your race is still largely allied with the pride demons. Some of you will report everything you see in the library and around the city to the pride demons, and at a not insignifigant number of you will use the knowledge you gain in the library to attack my territory on pride demon behalf. Why should I agree to allow you endless access, angering many okerians in the process, in return for a single piece of information, however valuable?"

"What will you do if The supply of condemned prisoners in insufficient to supply your brood?" you ask Rigil.

“Same thing they always do, raid the outlying communities not under your command.” Ludo replies. “They follow the word of their agreement, not the intent of it.”

Rigil turns over to Ludo. "Your kind tried to blow up the library literally 3 days ago, and your race, nay your house, is still largely allied with the Pride demons. Some of you will report everything you see in the library and around the city to the pride demons, and at a not insignificant number of you will use the knowledge you gain in the library to attack Count Brooklyn’s territory on pride demon behalf.”

“Rigil summed up my words quite well. Why should I agree to allow you endless access, angering many Okarians in the process, in return for a single piece of information, however valuable?" you ask.

“Because what I can tell you will defuse another potential war before it even starts.” Ludo replies. “Secondly, use your head Rigil. We’re most likely going to get in shit over this, but many of us at my house acknowledge that we’re not going to get back in any other way. *Your* way Rigil just leads to an extremely bloody outcome for both sides.”

“Yes, but the Miyians are relying on surprise. When that surprise is spoiled, it will take a large bite out of any potential attack.” Rigil replies.
>>
>>35512783
I'm inclined to take Ludo's deal, with modificiation. The modifications will be as follows:
Not unlimited access. 30 Greed demons will be allowed access, the composition of which will be determined by a bimonthly bidding process (that is, every 2 months the 30 greed demons from their house willing to pay the most will get into the library, the proceeds of which will fund our government and the Okerian clan)
We retain the right to ban individual demons from the bidding due to certain infractions (mainly attacking us, holding broken succubi slaves or things like outright murder)

As for the Mindflayers, tell them that we will revisit the issue once we have a territory sufficient to hold their current population, but that any deal will include population controls.
>>
>>35512783
How about we offer the greed demons temporary memberships with more restricted conditions. As for the conditions have the Okarians discuss with the demons.
Not too sure how to deal with the mind-flayers
>>
>>35513132

As a reminder, you don't control the library. You cannot set the policy there, but you are allowed to offer suggestions.
>>
>>35513187
Okay, then why is Ludo asking us if we can't give them access to the okerian library anyway?
>>
>>35513187
This, we have the power to agree with the Mindflayers, technically, but we'd have to ask Oksana's daughters whether they're ok with this.
>>
>>35512783

Any deals we make with either side will need to involve a long term benefit to us from their faction...
Whether that is a compulsory military draw, guaranteed supply trade routes with other groups in their faction or something else... we cannot give them a long term offer for a one-off return...
>>
“You are aware that even if I do agree to your deal, the Subota’s still control the library? Any policy changes would have to be discussed with them, not me.” you reply.

“We’re aware of that.” Ludo replies.

“...We will not be going anywhere near the city if... those creatures are moving back in.” Rigil replies.

“Bye.” Ludo says waving his hands. “The only thing redeeming about your species is your females have big breasts, but the rest are butterfaces.”

(You sure you want to go with the Pride Demon deal? Sorry if it's short, but I want to know before I lock in the final answer)

>>35513423
Looks like it.
>>
>>35513423

I'm tempted to go for the Mindflayer option, though I would like to arrange another meeting to hash out the specifics of the arrangement. Information for continuous death row convicts isn't a favourable deal...
>>
>>35513629
We don't know how many people would have to die per week/month/year vs. what we'd lose due to the Greed demons being here.
>>
>>35513423
I'd rather that we hold off either deal till we tell everyone else about it. I understand their info is sensitive, but forcing it on us right now...the Greed demons need to offer something more otherwise unlimited access is a one-sided deal on their part, the Mindflayers are terrible but at least they're honest about it. But they're terrible.
>>
>>35513703
And I'd REALLY like to decide one way or the other today, when we put shit off it takes months to bring it up again and everyone forgets what we were doing.
>>
>>35513668

could we possibly make an alternative offer to the mindflayers for their information then? maybe trade agreement or a one-off payment of DRCs?

>>35513797
It'd have to be a decently-worded write-in, with enough humans sacrificed to them to entice them.

“Then by business here is done. If you’ll excuse me.” Rigil says as he turns around to leave.

“Bye! BYE!” Ludo says rubbing it in as Rigil turns around to leave.

“Alright, now what kind of information do you have regarding the Miyians?” you ask.

“I knew in the end you could resist the Ludo c-”

“Start talking before I bring Rigil back in here.” you reply.

“We not only have information, but we have evidence that the feud between the Miyians and the Okarians was originally ignited by the Envy Demons.” Ludo replies.

“And where is this proof?” you ask.

“A Mad Sloth Demon whom the Envy Demons contacted. He made and impersonated the weapon that killed Beck’s lover, the Envy demons set up the chain of events that lead to her assassination.” Ludo explains. “This is the bit the Pride Demons didn’t want to tell anyone, as the Okarians and the Miyians represented the biggest threat, so they merely set them against each other.”

“So... They basically got a Pride Demon to engineer a weapon to kill Beck? I thought the person who killed Beck was a Miyian who was tricked by an Okarian, or so the story goes.” you reply.

“Envy demon spy actually. The Miyian that did the killing didn’t even know how to make advanced weapons, but it was set up in a way that she would be killed by an angry mob before any proper investigation would happen. Likewise they took anyone who remotely knew the Miyian into ‘protective custody’. Those Succubi, even if they are alive today, wouldn’t know anything due to Pride Demon’s brainwashing.”

“...Uh... So what you’re offering-”

“Is the Sloth Demon that originally made the weapon, yes. The entire plan was his idea in the first place. In exchange for helping, the Pride demons would give him all the resources he’d want for his experiments.” Ludo replies. “If you’re thinking about getting violence outside the bedroom, don’t bother. I don’t know his location or his name, other than he just exists in a secret location. The head of my house knows the location of him.” Ludo explains. “So would this be enough to get back into the library? The very enemy that masterminded the centuries long feud between your two clans?”

And owning a broken succubi as a slave is a death sentence in this territory, whether or not that slave is with you. "I will have to arrange for a meeting with the Subota's and a Myian representative but I believe that something may be able to be worked out." you reply. “But while they may control library policy, I control the policy of Old TO. If you’re caught with any Succubi slaves with you will be taken and any visas you have on you for the library will be confiscated. If you’re caught trying to break any Succubi, then the charges against you will be akin to murder.” you tell him.

“Yea yea standard affair. I got that.” Ludo replies. “So... You doing anything tonight?”

You just blankly stare at Ludo for a few seconds.

“I’ll... just go get my house then head to the library.” Ludo says as he slowly turns around.

B) Go to the Library and be with the Subota’s when the Greed Demons are doing their deal, offering your own personal input.

“I’m going to head out to the library. Tie down the fort while I’m gone Nalika.” you tell her, heading over to shapeshift into another disguise.

“Of course.” Nalika says with a small bow.

******

As you head over to the library, things do go as planned. You manage to walk around town without anyone seeing you. The tension seems to have a minor spike in the air since the downfall of Dio, with mortal and now Succubi soldiers on each corner. You can see a few Succubi hitting on people as they walk on by, apparently a few girls who thought donning the soldier uniform would make it easier to date people. Can’t really blame them, they’re people just like the rest of us.

As you enter the library and show your card to the library, she does a quick double take, which you put your finger to your mouth, hoping to avoid a large shitstorm with you being here.

The librarian takes a small breath before exhaling, passing you back your card before waving you in. It doesn’t take very long before you’re stopped on the way up to see the Subota’s.

“Excuse me, but may I have a word with you?” some short green haired Librarian with glasses asks you. Her horns are currently wrapped up in what appear to be small stockings.

“Sure you c-” you barely have time to say anything before you’re pulled off to the side. “Woah woah easy there! What’s the big idea!?”

“No no, we just want to thank you. You’re a hero for all of the Okarians here in this building.” the Okarian flatly states before handing you a piece of old world paper and old world automatic fountain pen. “In fact we just wanted your autograph.”

“Oh, that’s easy to do.” you say taking the old world automatic fountain pen, signing down your name on the paper before tearing it off and handing it back to her. “...Wait, there’s no other sheets of paper here.”

Upon hearing that prompt, the Okarian hastily unbuttons the top part of her clothing, showing what appears to be two large breasts nestled inside of black lingerie.

You blink upon seeing this, stunned by the boldness of his.

“You know... I am on my lunch break for about 45 minutes now.” the green haired Librarian then says, twirling her hair around with her finger.

Brooklyn's weather forecast for today is mostly stressful with a 70% chance of assassination and a 50% chance of collateral damage
>>
...No way it could be this easy. This has to be an assassination attempt or something.

You turn your aura vision on, showing her aura to be what appears to be a deep red (lust) colour.

“Oh.” The Okarian says dejectedly as she reaches to button up her top.

You stop her hands as she tries. “But that doesn’t mean I’ll say no to the autograph.” you say signing her breasts.

Her aura then turns to that of violet (joy). “So will you be available later then? Before the invasion?”

Hm... It appears she’s actually happy to try and go out with you.

“No worries, I understand.” The Okarian librarian says before she buttons her top back up. “Be sure you don’t forget.”

“I won’t.” you say giving a small point back to her before heading up to see the Subota’s.

“Wendy, Mary? I’m he-”

“Brooklyn why the hell are the Greed Demons saying they know something about Beck?” Mary asks as soon as you enter the door.

“Well it goes a bit like this.” you say as you begin to explain the same story as Ludo told you.

“...So they’re looking to make their way back into the library?” Wendy asks.

“Seems that way. I told them that you set the policy, but I don’t think I need to tell you what this means for Okarians everywhere.” you reply. “The Greed Demons arrive yet?”

“No, but they will shortly.” Wendy replies, sitting down at the table. She tries to a calm drink, before she takes a sip and slams the glass down on the table. “Damnit! All these years! I knew it! I just knew this had to be a setup by those no good bastards!”
>>
[2/2]

“Wendy, they’re not at fault here. From the way Brooklyn told his story, the Greed Demons didn’t have anything to do with this other than finding out the information.” Mary replies, walking over behind her to give her a hug around the neck.

“Still all these years! All the lives that stupid feud has cost us! Not only that, but we actually have to let those bastards back into the library in exchange for information!?” Wendy says, some tears actually forming into her eyes. She takes the cup and hurls it at a nearby wall, shattering it into pieces. “Fuck every single one of them! I say we raid their damn base and rip the information from their heads!”

“Wendy I’m just as upset as you are, but you need to calm down. They won’t be calling the shots anymore, we will be.” Mary replies.

“Yes, but if you give those bastard Greed Demons an inch, JUST an inch, then the whole damn thing can be infected!” Wendy protests.

(Anything you want to say or do you want this to be a family matter only?)
>>
>>35517119
"I told them I'd start up the meeting, so it's up to you, ultimately. I don't have control over what you do, Mary, but I do think we need that information.

But I can say that them holding this over us without any gestures of good-will means they'll get little in return. They just tried to blow the place up and they've tried to take it by force constantly.

Secondly, the Visa system will control who can legally be in Old TO, so their more-obvious and powerful people most likely can't stay here. I'll make sure they're guarded so they can't go somewhere we wont know or do something we wouldn't want them to.

Beyond that, if we can get this information, it gives us a reasonable excuse to open up the library to everyone in Old TO, so they'll have to compete."
>>

They never asked for 'Unrestricted Access', only entry... perhaps a 'public' area could be set up, a selection of common books and minor facilities... Let the Greed demons play in the 'children's corner'... Maybe allow them to apply to enter the main library with an escort, if they can meet certain criteria... possibly with an associated 'administration charge'...

They get what they want, but at a cost... Though I would not attempt to force anything on either you or the library...
>>
[1/2]

“Wendy, I’m not forcing either of you two to do anything. I’m leaving this matter in your hands, so if need be you can control how the Greed Demons go in and out of the library proper. I was thinking of doing something akin to a visa system to let select ones in, possibly with some restrictions such as security escort. No offense but I think half the Okarians here would try to lynch any Greed demon on sight.” you reply.

“You wouldn’t be wrong that. Still, the Okarians in general are like Greed Demons in a way, in that letting any non-Okarian inside the library is considered taboo. More importantly I feel bad going against our word to the Okarians that the Greed Demons are forever banned here.” Mary replies.

“You think they wouldn’t want the one responsible for the clan feud in the first place?” you ask.

“I’d be more worried about the Envy demon witch hunt afterwards.” Mary replies. “Still, I agree with the VISA idea. That is certainly one thing we can implement with ease.”

“What about restricted access to certain areas?” you ask.

Mary shakes her head as she rubs the shoulders of Wendy. “They won’t settle for anything less than the access they had before. We may be able to get away with the visas, possibly with a book donation or tithe as well.”
>>
[2/2]

“Book tithe may be steep though. They may think the information is worth the visas alone.” you reply.

“We may give them that, but require that every new year will require some donation. Since we’ve cut ties with them they’ve stolen no less than 127 books from the library. I intend to get every single page back, even if I have to pull it out from their asses.” Mary replies. “We can also ban them from checking out books anymore. They hardly ever returned them and we couldn’t touch them due to their connections with the Pride Demons.”

“I... I just don’t want things to go back to the way there were.” Wendy says rubbing her forehead.

"That's the entire point of this, to start with reasonable ways to stop spies and get actual people in the library who want books. My suggestion with the Visas is specifically for letting Greed Demons come here based on Visas. We invite a percentage of those that want to come, generally the reasonable people, they then come here and submit to search, are registered, and need a guard. A similar system could apply to the library, but only if you feel it'll work.

At the very least, it would be reasonable to do the same for the other Succubi clans regardless whether you let Greed Demons in here, start small, but work our way towards something real. It's one of the few things that the Miyians say about us that I think we should change...even though we should be careful of who we let in."

Mary rubs her forehead for a second. “That’s going to be tricky. Even mother couldn’t stem that tide.”

“The difference between mother and us is that many Okarians actually like us. No offense to mom, but her modern tendencies didn’t exactly work, nor were her hamfisted attempts to force change.” Wendy replies as she sits up. “I think we have an idea. Assuming if the Greed Demons tell the truth AND after we investigate, we’ll let them.”

“Aside from the Greed demons, I assume that you know the other news by now?” you ask.

“The Celestian army? Yes, we got the letter from a runner.” Wendy replies.

“Inquiry, are you a Dutchess or a lightning rod.” Mary asks you.

“That’s what I want to know too, but seriously I think I got a plan for this. Is Luna able to go to combat?” you ask.
>>
[2/3]

“She claims so, but I won’t be letting her. Aside from the fact she’s pregnant, I think she’s better suited to remain here and maintain any space wards on the city. Celestia will be coming down hard and we’ll need that support.” Wendy asks.

“Even during a leader snipe?” you ask.

“*Especially* during a leader snipe. When you make any sort of long ranged attack with space the window that opens is two way. Secondly I’d rather Luna focus on the wards. Even if their leader dies, that’d turn organized troops into chaos which may cause even more pointless damage.” Mary replies.

“What about the other leaders?” you ask.

“Ishtar can help, but she’s not as powerful as us and even her well known defenses wouldn’t last forever against Celestia’s anti-demon magics.” Wendy replies.

“The second strongest will be Fredika, and she’ll have her hands full leading the city defense. I was planning on getting Sister Teresa to help command the assault against the Celestian forces.” Mary replies.

“Well good news, I think I may have found another use for Luna. A friend of mine gave me access to the Miyian vaults that were not discovered based on my knowledge yet. One in South America, Australia, and the Moon. My plan would be to see if we could raid these vaults for some much needed weaponry.” you reply.
>>
[3/3]

“Hm... Yes, Old World Miyian technology would be a massive boon to us. We’ll see about sending teams to fetch it.” Mary replies.

“Luna isn’t going.” Wendy states.

“You know if you say that to Luna she’s going to do the exact opposite of what you say right?” Mary replies.

(Anything else? LAst post of the night, I’ll continue tomorrow. Would you also like to be at the meeting of the Greed Demons? TBH I covered most of things that the Subota’s will get from them at the meeting anywho. Also whenever or not you want to swing on by that Librarian before you leave.)

sure, but only the beginning of it to make sure things start smoothly, then we can leave it to the subotas to handle it well

we could have a quickie before we leave the library and see about anything more with her after the invasion is repelled

we should get together a team of space magic users who are loyal to start ferrying stuff back while Luna makes portals for them ASAP

I will need to talk to the other leaders about safe places for civilians celestia plans on genociding and possible evacuation routs. good question.

"One thing worth mentioning is that you don't have to let them into the library necessarily. You could just reinstall your mother's modernization project, digitize all the books, and create a remote reading center in the middle of some random town we don't care about. Maybe install an on demand printer for the traditionalists amongst the greed demons. No spies in Old TO, no greed demons mucking about your library. Heck, we can install a similar center right her in Old TO for the rest of the succubi."
>>
>>35521515
this is an interesting idea but would require a buttload of security and thought put into it so they don't just take all the data and make their own library plagiarizing everything, gotta have some controls on the dissemination of info

“Where is Luna anyways?” you ask.

“Out checking her pile of booze somewhere in the Divided States. She’s been making it for a while.” Mary replies.

“...Don’t tell me she’s going to drink it.” you reply.

“She’s not an alcoholic, she’s a party girl. I trust her to be responsible for this at least once.” Wendy replies. “The moment she has a bit of free time, I fully expect her to get hammered.”

“That predictable?” you ask.

“Completely and utterly.” Wendy replies.

As the time passes on, Wendy and Mary start to help select a team of librarians for the vaults investigation before the Greed Demons arrive in person, teleported directly into the main meeting room in order to get past security. It appears that one of the big name Greed Demon’s himself appears, a powerful head of the household. The talks go on for a bit, both sides stonewalling each other at first but slowly chipping away. Originally the Greed Demon’s wanted all the rights and access for their house as they used to have, Mary and Wendy wanted something far more restrictive and wanted the VISA limited to 30 people of their choosing. Things eventually get whittled down bit by bit by both sides. The Greed Demon’s agree to having Okarian guards with them at all times for practical safety while the Subota’s agree to give a permanent visa to the head of the Greed Demon household as after this stunt he’s not going to have nearly as much respect with the Envy or Pride demons anymore.
>>
[2/2]

Seeing as how the Subota’s have this handled, you excuse yourself while dressed up as an anonymous guard, on your way out having a quickie with the Okarian Librarian from earlier during the last bit of her break. While she’s not bad, you were somehow turned on by the idea of having a quickie in the bathroom, so that added fuel made it a pretty good experience for the both of you. After leaving the bathroom fairly satisfied, you ponder what to do next with your day.

You think it’s best right now to see how the city is being defended. Hopefully since sending off your letter, both Sister Teresa and Fredika have been discussing some plans.

Just by the evidence of the Fighter’s Guild, you can tell that Fredika herself has certainly been busy with the defense of the building. Nearly all the fighters right now are outside on guard, and even on the inside there is literally no one using the training areas right now, only the small relaxation areas. Upon telling the guards who you are, they let you go up to one of the booth rooms, both Sister Teresa (in full plate armour) and Fredika are sitting over a table, looking over a map of Old TO.

“We could possibly funnel them in here, down this street.” Teresa points out.

“Yes, but the cover is ill suited in this area. Remember the angelic footsoldiers are able to fly, which already puts anyone on the ground at a disadvantage. Hello Lightning Rod Brooklyn.” Fredika says without looking up from her map.

“...Is everyone going to call me that?” you ask.

“Well it is certainly unusual that so many bad events are constantly happening at once, but an invasion was something that I was expecting soon after the overthrow of Old TO.” Teresa replies.

“We expected Articus’s forces, not Celestia. This complicates things as their army makeup is vastly different.” Fredika replies. “A lot of anti-demon forces and scorched earth tactics. Any ground we give to Celestia means we can kiss it goodbye in terms of functionality.”

“While we may be able to handle this defense, we can’t take another invasion force so soon Brooklyn. Celestia is a wildcard that came at the worst possible time, as the leader of Old TO I hope you have some ideas to stop or stall Articus’s inevitable invasion.” Teresa asks, closed eyes full of concern

“For the time being, I know the exact make-up of their forces, their plan of attack, and am working on acquiring old Miyian weapons as we speak.” you reply.

“That’s certainly something.” Fredika replies.

“Do you know what kind of weapons?” Teresa replies.

“Not exactly no. We won’t know what the teams will find once the bases are raided, but we’re hoping for some heavy artillery or something akin to that. We can use it to pound the Celestian forces as they try to advance towards the city.” you reply.

“I’m hoping more for AA guns myself, but anything extra would be welcome at this point.” Fredika replies.

“What kind of forces do they have?” Teresa asks.

“About 1200 angels broken up into six groups with an Authority angel to lead them all. Adventurer groups will probably be in the city doing their own thing.” you reply.

“A bit bigger than I expected, but I really doubt they’re only going to contain one Authority on this.” Teresa says with a sigh.

“Why’s that?” you ask.

“Too important. My prediction is that they’re going to have something else in reserve and most likely only the Authority would know about it. Celestia takes care of their own, and I doubt they’ll just leave this to a single Authority.” Teresa replies.

"Thing is that they're in Celestia, so we really can't send any sort of scout or spy there." Fredika replies. "Still, that information is better than nothing. Most likely they won't deviate much from that plan."

“I do have a Reaper friend I could send up there, but I’m not sure what he’d be able to find exactly.” you reply.

“Celestia is a huge place Brooklyn, a size of which baffles most minds, however the size of it fairly small in comparison to the universe as a whole.” Sister Teresa explains.

“The energy that angelic beings are composed of is most commonly found in Celestia. While this energy is known for being harmful to demons, the problem is that Angels cannot exist outside of heaven for long. They’ll get weaker and weaker until they eventually die of starvation.” Fredika replies.

“Really?” you ask.

“Yes, but it depends on the angel. I have an Angel friend who claimed she used to be a high tier angel, but she left heaven out of disgust with it’s practices.” Fredika explains. “Exile is often seen as a death sentence for angels, but while very rare you can find this outcaste or fallen angel sanctums.”

“Are there any in Canada?” you ask.

Teresa shakes her head. “If there were, Articus would’ve killed them all a long time ago.”

“The closest one I know of is in Italy. The angels there took that property when the Pride demons came and had a stronghold on it ever since.” Teresa explains.

“You seem knowledgable on Angels Teresa.” you reply.

“I am a demon Paladin, by my very nice I go against them quite often, so early on in our training we’re expected to memorize as much about angels as possible, just as Celestian Paladin’s and Clerics memorize much about demons.” Teresa explains.

"Are there any exiles who would be trustworthy, Teresa, or any break-away sects of the Celestian faith I should be on the look-out for?" you ask.

“Usually any outcaste angel takes any help it can get. The amount of time an angel can spend out of heaven is quite long, but after a decade or so they will really begin to feel the problems of being outside of a divine realm. Most of the side effects are akin to starvation of sorts.” Teresa replies.

“Hm... Interesting to know. Still, would it be good for your plans to get the vampires involved?” you ask.

“Vampires? Why are you including them?” Fredika asks.

“Because they’re incredibly powerful and may be willing to help out?” you ask.

Fredika makes a small groan of displeasure. “I can see the logic in this, and indeed they’d make for powerful combatants. Just know that no Vampire magic is able to halt the affects of true sunlight on their skin, nor any other of their weaknesses.”

“And while they can be talked with Brooklyn, you’ll need to be careful. Succubi and Vampires never exactly saw eye to eye with each other. In fact they’re the oldest Rivals of the Succubi.” Teresa explains.

“I’m sure they’d be willing to cooperate in exchange for things such as being allowed to come to the surface instead of the sewers.” you reply. “If they put in a first class effort then I have no problems with them become first class citizens like the rest of us. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to head over to see the vampires now.”

>>
>>35531035

In certain areas, yes. Places like Leona's room, filled with 'holy energy' are places where angels can stay long term.

This is why angels basically need people to do their bidding as their own home realm barely has enough space
>>
>>35532066
Roughly how large a population could it sustain?
>>
>>35532181

As many as you could reasonably stuff in there. Physical space is the only real main problem.

>>35532923
How many would that be, as a practical matter, and can we cheat with space control to enlarge the holy areas (though I'd assume that we'd need a nondemon to cast the spell.

You could try doing such a thing yes, but there is a limit of how big space control can stretch an area like that.
