Welcome to Banished Quest!
You take the role of a young mage labeled a criminal by his people and cast out into the wider world. In the last thread you made your way out to the pirate's island hideout and began to explore the place.

You back out of the room. You know where the powder store is now, so you can always return later. You soar through the cove, plucking the ring from the Shah's corpse as you pass by and flying it up to the other side of that weird stone barricade. You bury the ring in the ash, marking the spot by melting the ash on top of it with a big 'X'. That done, you soar back towards the facility. You estimate that you still have about twenty three minutes of incorporeality left, so you're not too terribly worried about running out of juice while you explore.

You reach the tower quickly and slow, approaching it cautiously. You don't see any sentries, indeed you don't see any manner of external entrance to the tower. Presumably one would need to climb up from below. Banks of windows surround the top of the central tower, pulsing brightly with light at this late hour. You soar up to get a glimpse inside, finding a chaotic scene before you. Men and women dash in every direction, you can faintly make out their voices even through the glass. Inside seems to be some sort of control room, banks of consoles lining everything.

What you find most striking about it all is that it seems to be in working order. It's not looted, it's not broken. Plant life seems to have taken root in some places, mostly crawling vines, but it seemed intentionally placed. Most of the controls seem to be projected above the surface of the device, and the staff manning each console tap away at the projections rapidly. What are they even monitoring? What is there to monitor? This place must have an AI of some sort maintaining it and running everything, that's the only explanation that would account for how all of this is still functional after a millennia of disuse.

>>
1st for part2
>>
You also question where a simple pirate got an apparently well trained and professional team of vatis, or at the very least a team of scholars, to work in this control tower. The vast majority of the men and women inside were human, rather than Samjan. They wore long robes, by and large, and you think you might've seen one with a communication brooch pinned at his collar.

Their leader sits in a throne on top of a raised platform, looking down on the chaos around him calmly and speaking seemingly to himself. He is a Samjan, and wears a purple robed lined with gold. The colors of a Grandmaster. On his cheek is branded the symbol for 'Trickster'. Indicating that he either played a prank or misled someone into a course of action that resulted in the death of another Samja.

You sink away from the window, considering your next course of action. You could try to get inside, but that would include the risk of detection. You might also leave the place as is, and swing down to the village to try and figure out what's going on. You also consider retrieving a keg and manipulating it up to the top of the tower before setting it off, but that would likely drain your reserves severely, to lift something that heavy.

When their ships are not here the only thing blowing the powder does is take care of the cove. The powder should be blown when the ships are in to take care of them.

I'm just waiting for our timer to run out and we're left butt naked in the middle of the super pirate stronghold with no escape plan and no backup. We're already balls deep so no point in stirring up drama. Here's hoping we're good at improvising.
>>
>>35466331
It's real simple though, we go back to our stash of stuff before the timer runs out and then get closer to the camp on foot and do a repeat hit of the cloudsauce once their ships come back and get them BTFO. Mission accomplished. And also spy on them to see where they take their treasure, though it's likely somewhere safe inside the tower anyways the primary mission'll get accomplished.

You retreat from the tower, flying instead towards the village. You've yet to figure out just where it is the fleet went, and if you can set off the powder storage room while the fleet is moored you'd like to at least attempt to do so. However, as you soar towards the collection of ramshackle huts that makes up the village you note that a number of pirates seem to be rushing towards the cave entrance. Most of them wear Vatis robes, though one of them is currently nude save for a loincloth and another is simply wearing pants and a shirt.

You soar by overhead, none of them seem to notice you. All of them, save the barely clothed one of course, are wearing brooches. Could that man in the tower have noticed you? Could he have seen you earlier? You don't think so, but then why are these men running towards the cave entrance?

You continue on to the village. As you are, you appear as little more than a shadow. With the darkness of night descending on the village, you manage to largely slip through crowds of revelers and drunks unseen. At one point a man cries out, but you don't think that was due to you.

You slip into what appears to be a busy tavern of some sort, drunken men slouched against the wall outside, some of them with their arms slung around prostitutes. You note that all three of the races are represented, mostly Samjan and Humans, but you do see a few Elves. You pass through the crowd, a sensation you find incredibly odd. It's warm, and wet, and generally unpleasant yet as soon as you're through you feel nothing.

In the crowd of bodies you go mostly unnoticed, but just to be safe you retreat to a shadowed corner and press yourself against the ceiling, listening in on the chatter.

(1/2)

“Can't believe you turned on the Shah like that.”
“-good pay-”
“-few hours, maybe-”
“That prostitute is at least six hundred years old-”
“Did that shadow in the corner just move?”

You quickly toss up an illusion depicting the shadowed corner before you took up residence there. It's a simple task at your level of Fire Magic expertise, and the man who seemed to notice you quickly dismisses it as a trick of the light. You pass through the wall behind you, dropping the illusion once you're gone and soaring up above the city. You definitely think you got a lot out of ease dropping, though it was difficult to keep track of the various strings of conversation. You know that the Shah was betrayed, by someone currently fraternizing with pirates. You know that there is a six hundred year old prostitute somewhere on the island. They might also know that the Navy is coming to put an end to them, or perhaps that particular sailor was embellishing another story.

You ought to have about eighteen minutes left of incorporeality.

Lets go reclaim the one we looted way back when. Pay some peole to guard it. And then go back to adventuring reclaiming facilities as we go. Once we have a bunch, mine a tunnel system between them, start making robots with sk and fulvia help, and then go reclaim the ones banished guys have. After we have them all and all the tunnels set up, we start slowly taking over. Not through brute force though, political trickery, put people who we pay or who owe us big time into positions of power, make them well liked by giving them totally not ooc character advice. Then we roll out in brute force, "forcing" these big cities to surrender when we are really just taking the reigns from our workers. Then we can wage an all out war. Long live the empire.

Why?

Can we read that alchemy book sometime soon? I really want to get into alchemy. Soma said it gets hoodoo as shit and that means immortality. Probably.

GM water + Samjan biology is pretty much immortality and we have Mortia for alchemy. I think trying to get into it will just spread out the limited gitting gud time we'll be allocated.

>>
You make your way towards the massive building which comprises the majority of the pirate's fortress. Seriously, how the hell did they come to control this place? Was it merely luck, or did somebody help them? The place appears to be in nearly perfect working condition, the whine of one of its turbines filling the air as you draw close to what appears to be the entrance.

You slip through the wall and find yourself in an empty corridor, the entryway presumably. You soar onward, down the hall, and pass through a set of sealed double doors of Rhynian make. You find yourself entering a vast grand hall, exits branching off in many directions and a lift sitting at the very end. Clocks seem to be everywhere, a fact you find odd. One would do the trick, you'd think.

While likely once spotless, professional, and clean the Grand Concourse has seen quite a bit of defacement. Graffiti adorns seemingly every inch of every wall, much of it carved but some of it painted on. You note dozens of beds spread out around the space, presumably they ran out of room in the barracks to house everyone. Animal bones, trash, food, and knick-knacks lie haphazardly all about the place. It smells of cooked meat, sex, and pipe weed.

You soar through, staying high above. There are skylights, but you don't think they're real. For one, the image they're projecting is one of a bright, sunny day when, in fact, it's nearly completely dark out. The place is completely abandoned, not a soul in sight save for a lone cat sleeping on someone's bed. You'd take a moment to pet the animal, a fat orange tabby, were you only able to actually touch things.

You pause for a moment, hovering above the cat, to reach down with a manipulate spell and pet it. It darts awake, startled. However, after a moment it settles down and starts purring. You really kind of want a pet. You had a few dogs growing up, mainly hunting dogs, and your master had his hawk, his goat, and various other animals.

You shake your head to banish those thoughts, returning to the far more serious matter of exploring a massive pirate fortress. You float off towards the elevator shaft, passing through the doors and then soaring through the ceiling of the lift. You make quick progress up the elevator shaft, stopping at every door and peeking your head through. You find a cafeteria, once more abandoned, as well as what appears to be an engineering deck. You paused there, and took a moment to scout out the floor. Unlike the previous two levels, several men paced through the narrow, cramped corridors making sure all the machinery was in working order. You didn't proceed far enough to determine just what they were monitoring exactly.

The level above engineering seemed to largely be given over to private rooms. You peeked into a few but didn't find anything of particular value. You stand now before the last door at the top of the elevator shaft, having paused once you heard voices filtering through from the other side. If you had to guess, this is the command center, that control room you spied at the top of the tower. Judging by the distance between this floor and the previous floor, you wouldn't be terribly surprised.

Trying to figure out what the shit is up with a bunch of pirates having fully functioning Rhynian navel facility first of all. Secondly, our main goal before going into this was to 86 the ship that took out what should have been the most well defended ship in the Shahdom. If that monster isn't with in our reach, in makes sense to try and wait.

I am only worried that our movements have been roughly tracked since we made land fall and our cache of stuff has been raided, which would leave us naked in the middle of this hornet's nest. Think: magic can interact with us, there is a radar tower/command tower, and the Rhynians loved using wizardry to produce analogues of modern tech. Magic radar/security systems.

Because of some dipshit senator named Charlie Wilson, we literally spent more than fifty billion dollars to fund the training and equipping of the terrorists try to blow up our airports today. Now we're spending billions on incompetent Iraqi sots who can't be assed to even fight, blowing up women and children with our giant automated birds shooting three hundred pound missiles, turning people into red mist that just happened to be in the wrong place with the wrong people. As players in a simulated world, I can accept civilian casualties. As a human being, I call you a faggot of the greatest caliber, a progeny of the most sordid fetid cur, and most gaumless of easily lead, cretinous sheep. The only army program that was empiracally proven to lower hostility and improve middle Eastern relations was the Engineer Corps and Sea Bee's infrastructure projects. The easiest way to change the world is to destroy those that presume themselves strong for their positions, either economical or political. Eliminate them and their pride and you get to set the new status quo. The only thing stopping you is your own weaknesses and fragile mental limitations.

It's just mildly annoying. The poor guy was just trying to make a personal statement, and he gets dumped on by the joker. Not to mention, in my opinion, might makes right is one of the saddest truths in our world. I kind of like the idea that doing something for others is its own reward, but the fact is that in the end, all that matters is who's on top sickens me, and the one that does the right thing is usually getting crushed by the more... expedient person.
>>

Maybe if people who do "good" weren't so weak, this wouldn't be a problem.

You take the internet and life too seriously.
>>
You stride through the door separating you from the command center. Immediately you find yourself immersed in a crowd of men and women dashing to and fro, most too busy to spare a glance your way. The only exception seems to be their leader, who immediately turns his sun-weathered, bearded face in your direction. Fortunately someone cries out something about a mutiny, and you're able to slip into the shadows beneath a console. When he turns back towards the elevator doors, you're gone.

You slip around the room, sticking to the shadows. Every time you emerge that old bastard seems to zero in on you like a hawk, it's unsettling. You'd guess that it's all the plants that surround the room, he's probably a nature vatis. Thus, whenever you emerge from the shadows he can see you from a dozen different angles, making it difficult to hide from him. However, he never seems to be quite certain of whether he's seen you or not, and after a time you figure out a trick. You begin projecting an illusion of the area you're about to pass through in front of you, thus making it appear as though you never passed at all. This method seems sufficient to trick him.

For a time you simply wander the control room, listening in on all the chatter. You learn much, much more than you did at the bar, as every utterance seems to be of vital importance.
(1/2)
>>
“-battle is concluded, finishing off stragglers-”
“-three ships, but two others mutinied to join our ranks.”
“That's not good enough, are we sure the artifact is working?” It's the first time you've heard their leader speak, his voice is quiet, but somehow seems to carry throughout the room over the din of constant noise.
“Positive, sir. We've-”
“Reports coming in, ship rammed into the Leviathan, capsizing it.”
“Divert near-by vessels to rescue surviving crew.”
“No sign of the Shahzada's personal vessel.”
“Keep searching, the wreckage especially. Our client demands-”
“No sign of any disturbance in the powder storage room.”
“Any word from the scouts we sent to the old tower?”
“Not yet, sir.”
“Send a second party, I don't like that they've been gone this long.”
“Sir, the Immortal and its escort are making the return journey, ETA three hours.”

Wait, they're looking for the Shahzada? You'd had a creeping suspicion that Shahzada Kadir commissioned his father's death. Why would they be searching the wreckage for his ship amongst the wreckage? You suppose there are other Shahzadas, the Shah, or previous Shah rather, had many, many children with his four wives and was somewhat infamous for his sexual appetites. However, typically one only refers to the heir apparent as the Shahzada or Shahzadi.

Maybe the do-gooders ought to get stronger, hmm? But that can't happen, hmm.
The weak were destined to be where they are. It was predetermined, their place at the bottom below everyone, through their lack of ambition and desire for strength. They get exactly what they desire, the truth that their good is too weak against the will of the strong. The purity of evil and greed.

First of all, get it into your head that war isn't the way to go. Torture and secret, classified executions with a 3:1 civilian to target ratio will never solve anything. Then, do research. Follow the money. Do you know how Senators Lockheed has in its pockets to order jet engines for tanks that are literally wrecked for scrap metal? We spend DOZENS of billions of dollars of tanks that the military simply doesn't have the manpower to use. Imagine if just a fraction of that money went to building a proper school so that a thousand boys and girls can do something with their lives other than manual labor on an oil rig or factory sweat shop. You just get an Army Engineer four million or a Sea Bee five and they'll build you best damn sturdiest school they can. "Defense" reappropriations are literally the greatest source of untapped potential for good we have available to us as citizens. Which is funny because the money came from our taxes and public education funds in the first place. Stretch your google-fu. There's lot of organizations dedicated to turning needless blades into plows. These people are those that will male a difference. Not those occuppy-whatever drama fags.

>>35470368
Guys, they probably ambushed the Shah's Navy en route to join up with the Shahzada and the actual military force. The party is fine, as is the village. We've only been gone an hour or two at most.
>>
>>35470307
>Slip out, before you're noticed.
Welp.
>>
For all the people wanting to leave now.
Can we at least kill these fuckers before we go?
>>
>>35470265

Good people aren't necessarily weak. They just tend to carry a lot more baggage, with a lot more things they refuse to do. Trying to take the path that looks out for people other then yourself can be exhausting, and despite what fiction says, it's rarely replicated. The majority of the time, the guy that's always there for others is stuck high and dry when he's in need himself. Meanwhile, the people that get where they are without worrying about screwing over have little trouble getting getting others to help them with stuff, because they want what the ruthless guy has.

... I don't want to derail everything. It's just a pet peeve of mine, and the fact that it showed up while picking on a guy for having moral thoughts.. just ignore me. Let's go back to BQ!
>>
>>35470429
We stopped to meditate. The sun was out before we started and it was night after we stopped. It's been way more than an hour.
>>
>>35470438
Assuming that we can actually ambush the GM nature vatis and kill him in one hit? I'm game.

It sounds pretty risky though, anon. Truly it does. Though it may be worth it to get rid of their samjasensor capabilities a little.
>>
>>35470429
Oh yeah, makes sense. Thank you smart anon. I still wanna gtfo and prepare to blow the ship to kingdom come when it docks
>>
>>35470429
We've been gone for several hours, we meditated on sea, remember? Also, I now fear that our party somehow convinced Kadir to leave early to rescue us.
They have some mindcontrol artifact too, this is seeming worse and worse by the minute. We're really in over our heads in here.
>>
>>35470452
>>35470429
You've been gone for ~5 hours. The Shah's Navy was set to arrive sometime "tomorrow" when you set off, it was assumed it would be tomorrow morning.

>>35470438
You think we will actually be able to kill a room full of vatis, one of them a GM in at last one element?
>>
>>35470307
>ETA three hours.”
It's less than two hours to get to the village, so we're safe for now. Seriously though, we need to do something about this.
>>
>>35470438
If we can kill a the other pirates, sure, I want this island and I want the boat, we can sell the others and all the pirates belongings, I have a feeling the shah will be in need of a new navy.
>>
>>35470495
Spike through the back of the neck/into the skull from multiple angles, covering up the formations of icespikes with illusions so his plants don't give him warning. Sure, why not?
>>
>>35470495

>>

>>
>>35470518
>overestimating illusion our powers
>thinking a spike in the neck would kill someone with at least a couple master water vatis in the room
Yeah, nah.
>>
Guys as tempted as I am by the prospect of an ambush this guy will probably be able to avoid that initial strike well enough. I'm more in favor of getting what info we can and then relaying it to the others. Mik is vulnerable to magic and its a room full of Vatis, even if we're successful in our ambush we'll likely get taken out. Blowing up the generators is an okay idea but we should get in touch with Fulvia before we try it. Peek in, book it, get stuff. Communicate on the situation and then get ready to act from there.
>>
>>35470566
If it hits the brain surely they can't heal that.

But yeah, it's a bad idea. Let's just wait for the ships and then kabamo.
>>
My guess is that our party is coming for us. They are either on the mutinied ships, responsible for the scouts not reporting at the "old tower" or both. What we really need is to recorporiate, kill a guy with a brooch in order to get a direct line on the pirates and then check in with our people.
>>
>>35470527
Oh yeah that generator we encountered in the first couple of threads could really fuck shit up.

>>

No.

Yes.
>>
>>35470609
We have a Fulvia, anon. A Fulvia can repair that if we want it (we don't need it right now.)

Here's how it works, if an asset is in enemy control and it can hurt you then it's worth it more to destroy it than it is to leave it alone and "probably" capture it at a later time. If you don't believe me you can ask WWII. Yes, all of WWII. Go ask it.
>>
>>35470603
You do realize the mutinied ships are ships that belongedto the Shazada but are now attacking him, right?
>>
>>35470657
I'd bet that's the pirates primary means of recruitment. Didn't Soma say something about the Navy basically enslaving villagers at every seaside town it passed?
>>
>>35470667
What a shame they'll get assploded. But hey, they mutinied and made their watery bed.
>>
>>35470667
The pirates also have some sort of an artifact, which I expect to be a brainwasher/mindfuckery thing.
>>
>>35470677
So they've sent scouts to that tower, hopefully when we return to our stuff we'll be smart enough to change our location, aye?
>>
>>35470657
Yeah that was exactly why I though portions of our party were on them. No one but Darzi gives a shit about Samjan royalty. They feign an attack on the Shazada's ships, saying they want to join with the pirates in order to get to the island and join up with us.

You make your way back to the elevator doors, slipping out as quickly as you can. Once you're outside the doorway, you allow yourself a moment to panic. Had the fleet arrived early, met the enemy in battle, and lost spectacularly? You find that unlikely. They weren't supposed to arrive for at least another few hours, tomorrow morning if you recall correctly and it's only evening at the moment. Still, you're not sure how much of the Shah's Navy had been mustered to face the pirate menace. You can't imagine the entire navy has been defeated by a not-so-ragtag bunch of pirates, but the thought is worrying.

You quickly shoot through the walls and towards the opposite end of the island, towards the location of your buried belongings. You seem to cross the distance in record time, flying through the mountain rather than over or around it. A risky maneuver, considering you're approaching the time limit Ghada told you about. Hopefully it pays off.

As soon as you breach the other side of the mountain you find yourself within sight of the beach. However, from this distance you can't get a good idea of what's on the beach. It's simply too dark. You descend rapidly, and then level out. You're rocketing through trees and shrubs rather than open sky. It seems to take only a few moments for you to burst out of the foliage to find a... somewhat confusing sight in front of you.

(1/2)
>>
Your cloak lies open on the beach, your belongings strewn about. There are several holes around the area where you buried your belongings, and of course one where they actually where buried. How they managed to identify the general area of your belongings so precisely on a beach this large is something of a mystery, though you assume Nature magic is responsible. Either that, or they entered a meditative trance and noticed the bright, glowing ball of vys.

The actual perpetrators of the attempted looting are gone, or at the very least nowhere to be seen. Nor are any items missing. Everything is accounted for, if not in its original place. You're left wondering what the hell happened to them.

>Collect your stuff and see if you can't find the boat, you need some time to take stock.

>gather your stuff with manipulate and fly to the top of the tower without actually entering it, hopefully you'll have enough peace there to dress up and shit
This might not be a good idea if we can't get off the tower without entering it though, I'd like some clarification on this subject, Soma.
>>
>>35471204
Well that's a fucking trap if ever I've seen one. Go under the water and use the tide to bring our items into the sea. See if it stirs them up.
>>
>>35471227
The tower doesn't appear to have an entrance or exit on the roof. Basically, the only way up or down would be to fly or jump, or craft some sort of staircase.
>>
>>35471204
>Collect your stuff and see if you can't find the boat, you need some time to take stock.

I want to believe Ricky ate the faggots trying to jack our shit. Also, yeah that nature Vatis needs to die if we want to operate with any measure of stealth. Another team will becoming shortly so we need to prep if we plan to fight them.

Alright I have it. The nature Vatis can detect if we screw with any thing on the island. That's why he sent the guys to the beach and the powder store. We dug hole into the ground and attempted to lift a powder keg. He might be an earth Vatis as well. That or the other grandmaster is one and via the brooches they can combine their senses.

>>35471379
Not a terrible idea at all. Some psychic chaff might be useful if applied at the right moment but I would wager it would only work once before they "tune it out", like we did with our buddies earlier.
>>
>>35471379
That shit would be terrifying, even more so if he manage to scream in 6 different tunes.

You're not entirely sure how it would go. You would technically become corporeal 'inside something' which means the relevant body parts would be severed. However, underwater your entire body would be affected. You might basically be atomized.

Or shit works differently with liquids, and your body would just push the water out of the way. You're uncertain.

You fly under water and sit on the seabed, or well. You float slightly above the sea bed. You can't really sit on anything. Once situated, you create a large divot in the water above you and then close it off, creating a bubble of air which you carefully push down to the sea floor. You surround yourself in the bubble ,just in case you become corporeal while underwater. You don't want to risk whatever negative effects might possibly await you should you become corporeal while submerged.

You carefully coax a wave forward, faster and faster, until it crashes over the beach. It rushes up towards the edge of the forest before receding into the sea. With it, it carries along your cloak and various other belongings. You managed to get them all in one go, thanks to some careful manipulation on your part. Once they're over open water you drag them down and bundle them up in your cloak, tying the bundle off and keeping it hidden under the water.

You're waiting to see if men spring from ambush, or come looking for your gear. However, for the first few minutes you're simply sitting there motionless. Nothing's happening. Nobody appears to search for your stuff. Your incorporeality fades just as you begin to hear vague, distorted sounds from above which might be voices. One minute you're hovering above the seabed. The next you're sitting bare assed in wet sand with only a small bubble of air surrounding you. You drag your bundle of belongings out in front of you and untie it, plucking up your brooch.

(1/2)
>>
As soon as your fingers close around the enchanted device you hear a flood of voices in the back of your mind; Chrys, Darzi, and Profectus chief among them, though you picked out a concerned question from Fulvia and you think you might've heard Mortia and Skull Kid's voices somewhere in that fray. Darzi's is the voice that comes to dominate, the others quieting so she might be understood. {By the gods, Mik. You better have some good news. That ship... Mikhael, the Shah's Navy was annihilated. We saw smoke on the horizon and fishermen went out to investigate. They're saying nobody survived. Is it true?}

And having our own little place to keep sks shit would be nice, think they got a nice big empty room where sk could test his more dangerous shit?
>>
>>35471911
That's not going to work man. Because we'll have to kill the GM Pirate King along with an island full of pirates solo. We'll also want to turn the Shah's body over to Kadir. Calling dibs on the fortress and island after everything's done sounds fine by me though.
>>
>>35471911
We can loot the kegs and shit if we do it sneakily, but there's no way we can take on an entire island of vatis pirates.
Just tell them the situation, say we're going back to take some loot, and go back to the temple. Do we have the camera with us? Pictures of the battle territory and enemy fortress always helps.
>>
>>35471947
We could go grab our companions and maybe a few monks, if we kill the boats and possibly the turret we could get whatever men shazda had left over here. Shouldn't be too amazingly hard right?
>>
So, the pirates were trying to kill the Shahzada
Were they betraying him, or were they hired by somebody else?
>>
>>35471967
Being the guy who led the shazdas army into a pirate strong hold, wiped out the place and recovered the late shahs body would probably be grounds for letting is have the island, and maybe unbanishing us.
>>
>>35471978
Considering they haven't actually looted anything and are just blowing up the ships, I don't think they can be called pirates. They are probably just naval mercenaries
>>
Are you people actually considering taking on an island with hundreds of pirates on it, a significant percentage of whom are vatis, as well as at least one GM?

>>35471978
Honestly, I think it's possible that Kadir didn't tell them the Shah was on the ship they rekt, and they're taking revenge for being fucked over. Imagine what would happen if it got out you killed the Shah, whol nation's navy comes knocking on your step.
>>
>>35471988

The ships are the loot, and fuckers this strong have to paid mountains of gold, they don't sven need to be on the ship to control it man
>>
>>35472034
Fly a powder keg up to the armored metal tower you mean? Yeah, that's not gonna get spotted and correct post haste at all.
>>
>>35472053
Dude, look at the filename of the reference Soma posted for the dude in the tower. It was "Second in Command". The actual captain is fucking around somewhere else, probably with the ship.
>>
>>35472075
Im on mobile, didn't see the file name, sorry.
>>
>>35472071
The gm nature guy didn't notice us while we were in the room with him. An illusion spell to hide it from people looking up and we should be fine.
>>
>>35472118
It's a massive cost of vys for something we're not sure is gonna take them out given the infrastructure they're residing in. Add to that putting an illusion on a large moving object as such and you've already exceeded our vys amount.
>>
Just blow up the ships when they get to port, its not hard guys. There are hundreds of Vatis on this island including a GM which we ain't; this place is not our oyster holy fuck you lootfags are retarded
>>
>>35472208
I know right? Heads up in the clouds expecting great things while being outnumbered more than a thousand to one.
Ideally we'll blow the shahs and leave, take the el-amin ring as a sign of the death of the Shah then scram.
>>
>>35472147
>implying it needs to move
illusions in segments, create two overlapping illusions and when the keg gets into the overlay, we get rid of the lower one.
Or if we can get our hands on the canon we could blow the tower to bits
>>
>>35472208
I agree, steal the kegs, then dump then undeer the ships/port and blow em up at the same time, we won't need much vys to get away and we have our sword battery
>>
We need to ask for the head monk guy with the really long name for help, like seriously these guys are more than a danger, they are a threat to all Samjan kind, like holy shit they have working rhyian tech.
>>
>>35472247
Meant to say blow the ships.

>>35472252
Yet even more ridiculous and dangerous. As if being drained of vys on an island of vatis presuming the success of the flying keg you go ahead and suggest something as silly as that. For shame anon.
>>
Soma, are you still here?
Would moving the kegs with water be more efficient than with manipulate, since we're master at it? Or would combining the 2 be the best?
>>
>>35472285
>waiting for the Pirates to go to shore
>getting on the ship and shooting the tower and running away in the confusion
>stupid and dangerous
>>
>>35472319
Considering we'd physically be interacting with the ship in the cove that's bound to have some level of guards and defenses on it and entirely forgo the detonation because we'd need to be incorporeal to survive it all it only just take out the tower they use to coordinate but not the means by which they use to fight? Yeah, stupid and dangerous. You got it right.
>>
>>35472247
>thousand to one
>a ring as the only sign of a shahs death
1, you are over estimating how man pirates there are
2, kadir is gonna want the body, shahs bodies are important man
>>
>>35471855
Favaro!
>>
>>35472364
I'm not overestimating how many pirates there are at all anon. Did you read the thread? Did you read the numbers? The village? The tower full of vatis? The pirates that are currently out to sea yet to make port here with their fleet and newly acquired crews? A thousand to one was a genuine underestimation. Though the numbers aren't as important as the quality of the people in their employ, which is a pretty big unknown until their fighting vessels return, which would logically also be manned by vatis.
These are also not mere pirates.

And yes, Kadir is probably going to want the body. Doesn't mean we need to get it for him.
>>
>>35472358
I'm sure the pirates are going to fire into their own city with their navy. Because that's not turbo retarded. And neither are you in fantasy land. Get kadirs personal guard and all the volunteers and our companions onto the island via underwater air bubble or something like that, shoot the tower or just have all the vatis there combine spell blast it. Run to a safe position, start firing upon the city and taking out as many of the pirates as we can. and if chrys is there with her mask picking them off should be easy. And protect the ship at all costs, if we take them down hugely they will actually panic and fire their cannon at their own city and us. Yes it's a dumb plan but it's bare bones as hell and it needs to be fleshed out by someone other than a drunken buffoon like me.
>>
>>35472432
You just keep making riskier ideas when we've already got a clear idea set in mind, why?
>>
>>35472425
Besides, the people in the tower were mainly vatis, and it's obvious that they'd get most of their good vatis and more combat oriented vatis on the ships when out at sea, and just leave the essentials behind.
I think they probably haveat least 3 or 4 times as many vatis on the ships as at base.
Which would mean at least a couple hundreds
>>
>>35472445
>we've already got a clear idea set in mind
Not that anon, but what would that be? I don't see a consensus here.
>>
>>35472462
Blow it all up. Float away with a smile and the satisfaction of a well jobbed cove. Ezpzlemunsqueezi.
>>
>>35472445
No, you and two other guys have an idea to blow up their ships. Which is the same as when we last voted on it, admit your just being a stubborn arse and you don't want to take even the slightest of risks. I wouldn't be suggesting these "Stupid" plans if I didn't thing it was possible to pull them off.
>>
>>35472432
>drunken buffoon

oh good, by your own admission too. Trying to A-Team this is a stupid fucking plan, when we can utterly rek their infrastructure andfleet with a simple spell
>>
>>35472492
The risks aren't worth it so yep. Bamboom kablam. Problem solved no complications.
>>
>>35472489
>a few hundred pirates dead
>navy dead
>the rest of the pirate army very much alive
They have a rainforest next to them and a gm nature dude, they'll build more boats and kill everyone at night.
>>
>>35472509
Yet at least they'll lose their biggest advantages. And if we catch them when they come in, all the merry death will solve that swell.
>>
>>35472503
>a-team
Did you forget that shazdas personal guard took up a whole field? And with the volunteers and our crew that's even more. And yeah I'm drunken and not the birghtest man, blow me.
>>
>>35472492
Not that guy, but taking risks here would be top 5 worst decisions in the quest, there are at least hundreds if not 1000+ pirates here, many are vatis, and there are still more out at sea.
It is not worth the risk at all.
>>
>>35472508
Go home Michel bay.
>>
>>35472534
So you want us to personally transport the shahzadas person guard under the ocean to fight the vatis landside and bypass their vessel advantage?

I don't believe I need to point out the flaws with this, mang.
>>
>>35472529
Oh so when we aren't here two gms isn't a thing up worry about? Sure thing bud.
>>
>>35472545
Michael Bay, anon. Michel Bay is someone else.
>>
>>35472562
Two GMs without a Rhynian destroyer and large fleet. As opposed to two GMs... with a Rhynian destroyer and a large fleet.
>>
>>35472552
Avoiding their biggest advantage and not getting blown the fuck up sailing there doesn't sound horrible to me. And stop forgetting that we aren't the only vatis to ever exist, most soldiers are vatis, all the volunteers are vatis.
>>
>>35472578
A huge fleet sure is useful in a land battle. Pretty sure boats don't have legs.
>>
>>35472534
If the tower somehow survives in the resulting explosio. they'd be severely weakened. That would be a better time to lead in the Shazada's forces, when we've crippled their forces
>>
>>35472616
Yeah your probably right and the panic would make it even more easy. Thank you for making my plan less stupid.
>>
>>35472598
Pirates with gunpowder do
>>
>>35472581
Anon, do you understand how many hours it took us to get to this island? And that distance we'd traverse underwater by foot?
Assume we get close to them on ships before bubbling down and don't get picked up by their facility, we're to march on the pirate cove with a large amount of exhausted soldiers that are used to desert conditions on an island where the GM nature vatis will know of our coming and has an ability to brooch organize defensive position in territory they're aware of? You just keeping ignoring the scale of the issue, holy shit.

>>35472598
The point is to destroy their naval advantage so they're no longer a naval threat, nobody has to stay behind to take their ire. If you want them dead so bad why not suggest luring them both into the cove somehow ahead of time? I'd vote for that if you make it clever.
>>
>>35472598
Yeah, good thing the crew can't function on land and isn't made up of highlevel vatis, right?
>>
>>35472638
Is carrying a giant heavy keg of gunpowder considered a brilliant strategy where you come from? Or were you suggesting firing heavy weaponry in the direction of your own base is something non-retards would ever do?
>>
>people trying to think of ways to engage in large scale warfare and take the island for ourselves

You dummies need to figure out this is beyond our ken. At most we sabotage them, everything beyond that is a pipe dream.
>>
>>35472667
Not that anon, but cloak solves the keg carrying problem.
>>
>>35472655
>I'd vote for that if you make it clever.
Not him but I can see that working.
Somehow lure the grandmasters into the cove, then blow it.
Should toast 'em and if not give us a good shot at them.
>>
>>35472719
Him here, I was gonna say this but more complicated and stupid. I'm willing to sacrifice the fleet if it gains us an intact tower and atleast part of the village.
>>
>>35472719
I severely doubt you would be able to lure the GM there and keep him unaware of the plan.
Also, remember that we hear voices from above the water, we should get out of our current position before the window of opportunity disappears.
>>
>>35472750
>sacrificing that many innocents when we won't even beallowed to take control of the island and won't stay here even if we can
No.
>>
>>35472777
The fleet is dying once we blow up the cove anyways. Mutineers are not innocent, btw.
>>
>>35472760
He could very well take us killing all of the people he sends to investigate as a challenge, pirates never turn down a challenge. If we went incorporeal and magic killed a bunch of the pirates at the cove he might be forced to come check it out himself.
>>
>>35472777
>island full of mercenaries that are party to killing the local royal navy
>innocent

>>35472793
>>35472760
>>35472750
>shouldofkeptmybigmouthshut.tiff
>>
>>35472786
The pirates used some magic brainwashing artifact.
But I thought you were talking about the rest of the fleet, assuming some survived.
>>35472806
see above
>>
>>35472777
>implying I want to stay here
>implying innocents
>implying we will take no for an answer on the island
Loot and sell what we don't want. Then store some of our excess stuff here so the cloak will be a bit cleaner, then stick around long enough for fulvia and sk to study all the shit they have. Possibly leave them here to guard the place and keep researching while we go have fun.
>>
>>35472838
Did you just assume we'd take the island?
>>
>>35472822
you have no proof of brainwashing

>>
>>35472838
Yes, bevause no one will want the island for themselves and 3 people can totally defend it.
Get off your delusional high-horse, we're way out of our league here.
We need to find a cave or mine or something, like what we came across in the first(?) thread and camp out there, so we don't lose anything if we have to escape.
>>
>>35472841
>take
No we are gonna haggle the ever living fuck out of kadir for it. We got his dads body, we avenged his families honor from those dirty pirates. He already owes us, shouldnt be too hard to convince him the island should be ourS
>>
>>35472849
You're right, no proof, just this bit
>“-three ships, but two others mutinied to join our ranks.”
>“That's not good enough, are we sure the artifact is working?”
>2 ships mutinied
>not good enough, is the artifact working?
>>
>>35472866
Man if we fail a haggle role with Kadir y'know we'll end up throwing him to Ricky right?

...that's what you want isn't it?
>>
>>35472866
He's literally the Shah now, everything is his bybirth right, since it belongs to criminals and we have no realclaim on it besides honor.
>>
>>35472859
Last time I checked everyone is horrified of the head monk. Us being friends and being right near him should be enough to scare away anyone trying to take the island.
>>
>>35472892
>friends
I think you're overestamiating the extent/intimacy of our relationship
>>
>>35472892
Anon, we're not incredible friends with the Varistha. He's not gonna claim shit for us, he even said that this entire business has nothing to do with the temple when we first told him what we'd found at sea.
>>
>>35472883
No. Well yeah because fuck kadir, but I actually want the island
>>
>>35472910
>>35472918
Still live close to him, and a few donations to the temple would make him more likely to protect our island
>>
>>35472892
>varistha
>friend

U w0t m8? He's been treating us like he would any other monk, helping us by answering our curiosity and offering lessons and a room within the temple of Pani.

>>35472937
Oh you're just making assumptions because you're obsessed with taking an island that we don't need.
>>
>>35472937
yes, a few donations would definitely changes his mind about giving up an island full of priceless artifacts and treasures
>>
>>35472961
Why would he want rhyian shit? He's 1, a monk and 2, a die hard rhyian hater.
>>35472859
Having drunk some coffee you might be right, I still wanna strip this place bare though. The old rhyian facility back in bum fuck nowhere is known to adventures as empty so we should be able to cache shit there easily
>>
Could these mercenaries be working for the elf warlord, taking out navies as a form of per-emptive offense?
>>
>>35472996
I wouldn't doubt it. It might be soma's way of setting up the warlord as our next bbeg
>>
>>35472991
Why would he want money if he doesn't want rhynian shit that he can sell?
We can strip this place without taking it though, just need to fuck over the pirates and stuff our cloak while the navy is busy with them.
>>
>>35472996
I honestly doubt it, but it is possible.
>>
>>35473009
Alright then, we seem to have reached a compromise then? Take all the shit?
>>
>>35473009
The navy is dead anon. It's already OOOOVVVEEEERR.
>>
>>35473021
Well yes, definitely take all the shit if we can, but don't take too many risks to do it.
>>
>>35473022
Shah still has an army though? Not huge of course, but if they can get some ships, they coulddo SOMETHING, especially if we blow up the pirate ships.
>>
>>35473029
Hurray for long ass arguments. I'm getting more beer then I'm off to spam soma's ask with questions, see you guys Monday.
>>
>>35473044
I'll join you on the ask thing when I get back home, other askanon, let's hope we get some success like the time when I did themistralarms and shit.
>>
>>35473039
Yeah, but only if we blow up the ships.
>>
So, eh, anyone want to talk about what to meditate on?
>>
>>35473224
Fire master rank.
>>
>>35473224
Fire up to master, then nature. Nature is a priority right now.
>>
>>35473375
>>35473401
I kind of want tomake thestep to fire with the egg.
Also, why is Nature priority? For PDefense/Offense? I agree Nature would be cool, but I also want to work on Metal a bit.
But mainly I want to meditate on our enchanted shit, find out what they can do, maybelearn a couple runes, maybe physically test them out, as well as develop/practice techniques(PD/PO/Mistralarms/etc.) along with the battle meditation.
So my list goeslike this I think
>bit of Nature
>techniques
>battle med
>gear
>read our books and learn effects and shit
>Nature
>Metal/Earth(be careful with Earth coz Entity)

>Fire if we're in a place where baby can safely hatch in secret>>35473401
>>
>>35473442
Oh also that enchantment rune we got from rhynian facility.
>>
>>35473480
What?
>>
>>35473480
We scribbled it down when we were removing corruption from one of our party members, forgot whom.
Supposedly it was for 'leech'
>>
>>35473526
I have no recollection of this.
We only decorrupted Chrys and Fulvia.
We didn't inspect the runes in Fulvia's mindworld, and I don't think we really fucked with the machine used on Chrys?
>>
>>35473577
We inspected the runes inside decorruption chapter chrys was in after she got cured.
>>
>>35473602
Ah, okay, that'd really useful to have on a weapon.
>>
>>35473021
You've unlocked: Advanced Lootology.
You've unlocked: If it's nailed down, we'll just need to steal the nails.
You've unlocked: Blood Ravens Honor Guard.

;_;
>>
>>35473968
Mik and Shax would get along spectacularly. They have just the right amount of crazy to entertain each other.
>>
We still need to find out what our new sword does.
I'd geuss that the blade extends/chanegs shape or it has some non-physical attack, like poison or leech, since its range is actually longer than the Shockwave sword's.
