As guests of honor during the feat of Opal city's dwarven King, we are treated to the best food, fruit juice (the king knows that humans our age shouldnt frink alcohol) and milk in the castle's kitchens.

We also were presented with a couple of really nice mithril gauntlets, and enjoyed the dance of the devadasi that had been requested by the cit to dedicate an old mine as a new foodgeon for the city in a few weeks,

The dwarven nobility was happy to talk with us, and those of them that are familiar with humans all agreed about how intelligent and mature we were for our age.

After much egging, we managed to get Lyann to dance with the devadasi, and are enjoying our melon juice (what's with the melons in this region, really?) when one of the wealthy local merchants approaches us.

I understood what you meant, but if the animal blasts arent summoning actual permanent animals and just look pretty, its really just fluff, I think

Also, in this version, nerfed dances to do damage equal to that of your equipped weapon instead of your appearance score. That way dancer is more neatly in the support slot instead of dps

Ah, I see where the confusion is, now.

What do you think of a secret job gained by spending forever in a dungeon? Say, 2 months to 1 year, reaching at least floor 50 or maybe even fully mapping them out.

well, theres a big difference between reaching floor 50 and mapping it out since some dungeons are just 20 floors

but what do you want the job to give?

This PDF includes all the sheets. Honoria is missing the inventory. I was lazy about punching it in

Also, Aura is rather scary, considering shes wearing all NON-Magical equipment. Will of course enchant it when I have time to write that. I guess obviously Okaba would enchant it for her

Anyway lets see...

"Ah, young lord. It is nice meeting you. I am Caja Azuca, a local merchant and supplier. I hope you will sponsor my business with your presence" -says the gold dwarf
"Nice meeting you, sir. I don't know how much I can help your business, but it is nice of you to invite me."
"No, no, simply having the young lord show up at the shop will already help our reputation, please do drop by! I will try and prepare a suitable gift as thanks" -he says with a smile
"Ah, I see. Thank you mister Zuca." -you say politely
"Azuca, young lord."
"Right, Azuca, I apologize."

Several other merchants also drop by, inviting you to shops of all kinds, from regular food stores to weaponsmiths and slave traders (who promises to save you the very best stock) are interested in having you show up by their shops to show they are rubbing elbows with the high marshall's grandson.

Seriously grandpa, was it like this at home for you? Im starting to get an idea on why you moved out of town, and why dad wanted to move to a completely different town before I was born, now.

You sigh, and go back to enjoying Lyann's dance. She looks so cute amongst all the tall dancing girls, but she's not losing in neither beauty not grace.

Our friend Okaba walks over and shooes away the merchant sharks that were gathering around us

"Eldric, are you alright?"
"Quite, but thank you for the rescue"
"Uhmm.. this reminds me of the merchants at home."
"Oh... I guess merchants are the same anywhere?"
"Well, merchant is a chaste mainly populated by gold dwarves in Hêven so... more similar than you are thinking about."
"..."
"Your girl looks very beautiful on the dance floor. Did you got the name of the tailor?"
"Ah, yes. Are you getting something for aura?"
"Indeed, her birthday will be soon."

Your friend acts as a buffer between you and the merchant lords in Opal for a while, then has to wander off to greet Honoria's parents.

"..." -Mako clinbs to your sleeve quietly
"Our princess requests..." -starts one
"...that you scort her to greet the king" -ends the other
"Of course."

You go with Mako and greet the dwarven King and Queen.

Their majesties are quite polite, and thank you for being friends with their daughter.

"It is my pleasure and honor, your majesty"

You introduce Mako, and explain that the princess is quite shy.

She does a polite, graceful bow and introduces herself clearly... it seems that she can force herself to talk for formal occasions

After a while, people starts to drift off, and Aura has fun trying to dance with Lyann. She's quite graceful, but she's not a great dancer. Still, it's fun to watch.

We want Mako to unlock Dancer, and training is the only way since it's not a Job in her Class.
And then we can talk with the King about what's going on with our father and grandfather, if he knows them personally, to try to get an idea about the geopolitics of this world.

I thought it would be fun to deliberately make spirals or something, or zigzags to farm charging mobs. I'm still playing with the idea in my head in terms of how much Dungeon Maker would work. Going Interior Redesigner on dungeons to modify mob types might make devdasi too useless, as fun as it is to put rooms and furniture around the place.

>maybe as an aura that can be adjusted on your side so it just affects your party
that works

What about creating safe zones? Resting spots where mobs will not actively walk to or spawn in.

Uhmm I think that as long as "the dungeon magic will create a way from exit to entrance if you block it" it could work, really

***

You take the chance now while Mako is still acting so brave, and gently pull her to the dance floor.

As soon as she realizes what you want, she freezes solid, going bright red and closing her eyes.

"Princess, please trust me"
-she shakes her pretty head, terrified
"Mako, please trust me?"
-she opens up an eye, a little bit, and you gently smooch the back of her hand as you switch her job for a little bit

Yup, this is good.

Mako looks cute. Well, she's naturally cute to begin with. You dance with her a little bit, and then with Lyann, and back with Mako, and Aura takes you for a spin (literally, as shes quite taller than you and has no trouble picking you up).

Everyone watching feels that "the children dance very well", and the celebration goes through uninterrupted.

After a little, you guide Lyann and Mako back to their seats. Mako right away hides behind a glass of milk, sipping on it as she holds it with both hands, blushing softly as she tries to live it down.

Her shadows look quite happy and just kneel by her sides, patting her and telling her what a brave girl she is.

You leave Ami and Mai to take care of the girls as you excuse yourself and wander off to talk with the merchants a bit, trying to find out which basic goods and materials you can get from the city.

Surprisingly, they have quite a business in exotic hard woods. Giant mushroom forests are carefully managed to produce light, extremely tough woods.

Of course, the names of chemicals and minerals are different from your previous world. You will probably have to talk with an alchemist in his studio so you can identify the dwarven names for things like antimony, barium and sulphur

You go agree to visit the laboratory of the court's alchemist, master Polvo, at some point during your visit.

Well, you are going to spend a couple of months here. There's no great rush right now

The dwarves seem quite optimistic about the war effort. They don't seem particularly sympathetic to the plight of the Yellowleaves elves.

"They brought it on themselves" seems to be the most common opinion, followed by "The ones with enough grit to work for their citizenship make half decent domestic servants, but you can't expect a real, honest dwarf-day of work out of an elf. We are already coddling them quite a bit since the king forbade using them on the mines or the woodchucking camps"

What few elves you see all wear the "public servant" collar and are dressed in the same colors, with high quality materials. They seem quite bored with the dwarves idea of a feast and a ball, but a few seem to be having fun as they wander about and look at the dancers.

You dont manage to find any dirty rumours at the benquet, but then again, it seems unlikely any dwarf would badmouth his nation in front of you.

"Young lord, would you like some more juice?" -a female voice asks you from behind
"Kalliira, hello" -you greet your attendant
"Good evening, young lord. Are you enjoying the feast?"
"Yes, thank you. How long will it last?"
"Uhmm.. I understand it will last for 2 more days. The dwarves will go in and out of the feasthall, of course."
"Oh. So I can go to bed if I want?" -you don't want to admit it, but you are kind of tired by now
"Of course. Would you want me to collect your sister from the dance floor?"
"Please"

A few minutes later, Lyann is pampering you, 100% in "big sister" mode as she sees you getting sleepy.

"Well, he's still my little brother" -yeah she has that written all over her pretty face as she pampers you and walks with you and Kalliira towards the door.

She asks kalliira to let Okaba, Honoria and Mako know that you are going off for the night, and then goes out of the feast hall with you.

The hallways outside are also quite full with dwarf nobles talking cheerfully with eachother, dressed in their finest clothes as they discuss business or politics.

"...war going well. Maybe another two years, to..."
"...polis navy harrassing them at sea, should end so..."
"...ost interesting new drill tip, you see..."
"..hahaha! yeah, well, you have to admit it is funny..."
"..ood leadership for the troops. Once this war is over, the coalition army could help us clean out the orcs from the souther regions..."
"...ont trust the vizier..."

As you approach, most conversations cease for a bit as the dwarves greet you, and then resume their conversations.

"...let me know if I can go, too" -ends the other

"Ah, I'm sorry, please forgive me"
"...okay" -she says just loudly enough you can hear her, and then blushes as she hides her face

Well, it was a fun night. The dwarves seem quite on board with the Coalition's efforts.

You escort Mako to her room, and then head off to your own. Kalliira asks you if you need help getting prepared for bed, but you thank her and dismiss her.

Lyann insists in giving you a bath before bed, just like at home, and shortly after you are cuddling up with her in bed. With a full tummy, a new pair of gauntlets, and in a warm hug, you fall asleep right away.

"Asking for help from children, we've sunk to a new low, you know?"

Kalliira falls backwards on her ass, the chocolate-colored elven beauty more surprised then you

"Can I ask prince Okaba along as well? he's very much the type to help"

The elves look... quite relieved that you suggested so.

Aura opens the door. She's wearing really cutesy looking silk pajamas with little frilly details. She also has a plushie pegasus doll in her right hand.

Really Okaba, don't pamper her anymore. She's already pampered enough, man.

"Ah. Eldric, what is it?" -she asks with a sleepy face as she rubs her eyes with both hands.

She notices shes still carrying the plushie and blushes a little bit as she smiles, and throws it somewhere into the room.

"You saw nothing, got it?"
"Got it"
"So what do you need?"

You explain things to her, and she nods, nods.

"Alright, please wait a few minutes, I'll wake my Oka- I mean my master up"

Stop spoiling her, man!

A few minutes later, Okaba is at the door. He has everyone come in and asks you what this is about.

Once you have explained things, he looks at the elves for a minute...

"How long has this been going on?"
"For about three months, your highness" -says one of the male elves
"Alright. Aura go into the bath and get dressed."
"Yes master"

A few minutes later, Okaba does the same, and your lot go out of the palace towards the public servant's barracks

They explain again that they cant resist orders, and while thats usually not a problem (they are somewhat resiliant to, but admit the dwarves havent taken advantage like they thought they would), it does leave them exposed to the inevitable shameful criminal that has to exist everywhere.

"Is it any order, or specifically order by dwarves?" -asks Okaba

The elves arent quite sure, really.

"Alright, please raise your left hand"

The elves do so

"Master, this proves nothing. Here, let me... alright, elves, start jumping until you touch the roof"

The roof is 9 feet tall

When they start jumping, Aura seems to have fun until Okaba clears his throat.

"Oh, right, you can stop now."
"Well, that's actually helpful of you. Now that we know that. If any of you is involved on this, but has been ordered not to say anything, I am ordering you to speak now."

"If they're children, they won't get it. If they get it, they're not children. It's fine"

Lyann makes a face that says "I didin't get it", mildly annoyed

For now, the girl describes the person as a tall wolf-tribe beastman. He ran into her at the palace and just worded his order so that she couldnt tell anyone and had to leave trying not to get caught.

She had never seen him before.

You ask Kalliira to stay and take care of everyone, then go with Okaba to get Honoria.

The dwarven princess actually has a guard outside of her door.

Well... actually that makes sense.

You identify to the guard, and request that she wakes up Honoria.

The guard seems a bit reluctant, but does as you ask.

A few minutes later, Honoria is dressed in plenty of robes (a dwarf maiden's chastity is important) as she talks with you.

When she sees it is a important matter, she asks you to wait outside while she gets dressed, then goes with your group, bringing along her guards.

A small group of four dwarven defenders wielding halberds.

"Maybe this party is too big already?" -asks Lyann- "I doubt we will surprise anyone like this"

"We'll ambush them."

You go back to the elves barracks, and talk with the girl that had to disappear herself tonight.

She guides you out of the palace, and through an alley, where she stands i the dark after placing a black cloth bag on top of her head.

Yeah, this is a completely unfair situation. For a slaver, this is pretty much a dream come true, isin't it?

A part of you is surprised she wasnt asked to hold an apple on her mouth and tie herself up, too!

Well, you should hide, but you dont know which way the kidnappers are coming from. In this situation, hiding on either side of the alley is as bad or as good as the other.

In one direction is the palace, and in the other is a warehouse district.

Which way do you want to hide from?
* Palace, whoever it was was able to watch the girl for weeks before choosing her. They must come from the palace

Hide so they dont see you if they come from the warehouses+

After a while, you see two males approaching. One of them is a wolf-eared beastmen dressed in fine livery, and the other is the slave merchant that invited you to go visit his stockage.

"Seriously, he came himself? just how confident is he that the elfgirl will just follow along?" -asks Aura
"I'm guessing they have been doing this for months now. They must be quite sure it is safe" -says Okaba
"Wait a little until they pick the girl up." says Honoria to her guards

The dwarf has the wolfman pick the elf girl over his shoulder, and order her to be quiet as they take off towards the warehouse district.

* Jump down on them right now. Its 11 of you vs the two of them, and you already caught them hot handed, with the literal goods on their shoulders

You tell your friends to wait while you follow them, promising to come back as soon as you see where they take the girl.

Lyann is completely opossed. Finally you tell her that she's going to be most useful by letting the anklets tell her on which direction hes going so they can follow the stealthed you from 100" away.

She finally agrees, and you start tailing the wolfman and the dwarf

"Uhmm... master, do I have to tell you about every single person nearby?"
"Again? I don't need you telling me there's a sleeping dwarf next to us every time we pass by a house again!"
"Just checking" -smirks the wolfman. He too has a obedience collar

You follow them into the warehouse district, and they do into a building after a few minutes.

The dwarf goes in after the wolfman and locks the door behind him.

You go back to your friends and guide them to the building.

Lyann had been following you, so they are quite close by.

"Alright, I'm not going to have anyone preying on our house servants, kick the door down!" -Honoria instructs the guards, who nod and get ready to do so, when the door opens

A small wolf beastman child is sucking her thumb as she looks at your group.

"Bro said to open the door for you" -she explains with a smile

"Uh... that's really nice from your brother..." -says Honoria

Ah, so the wolfman is just being used like the elves.
I'd say no charges against him, them.

And especially since he detected us and found a way to not have to report us to the dwarf slaver.
>>
>>35428896
Wait, so wolfguy wanted us to follow him?
>>
>>35428953
Yeah, it's pretty obvious.
He has a slave collar, and he specifically was reporting every single dwarf in the area to get the slaver to rescind the order about reporting anyone in their area, so that we could follow them.
>>
>>35428896
Hiding behind children eh? Bastards. They've probably sensed us coming and hid the girls away in secret compartments or something. Be on the lookout for such things.

Better yet, once inside have Honoria give an order: "By my right as heir to the throne, I order any and all servants of the crown to tell me exactly what they are doing this instant!"

That will reveal the slaves, then we have her order the wolfman to tell her everything about his master he was told not to and boom, we got em'!

"Also, Eldric. Your stealth sucks" -she adds
"Hey, its a wolf, you know. May have picked up my scent, what do I know about his kind? the dwarf didin't notice me"

The group goes in after the child. She is barely half as tall as Honoria, wearing a white rag as a shirt, and going pat pat pat as she runs around barefoot, her soft fluffy tail peeking up under her rags. She has deep dark hair and fur, with wolf ears standing up.

As you go in, you see plenty of wooden crates, but after a while you start seeing cages with dozens of slaves from many different races.

Well, slavery isin't illegal. As long as it is criminals.

You sort of doubt the little puppy girl with the collar in front of you is a criminal, tho.

After a while, you approach a light ahead.

The wolfman is gagging the girl after tying her up next to an open cage.

He sees you approach, and smiles.

"Ah, good night. I didin't expect to see the princess herself. I'm sorry, but i've been ordered to attack all intruders. I really do apologize for it. I will try and do a terrible job of it"

"Only someone submissive could ever betray you, scum. When was I ever submissive to you?" -says Rob, then to Aura- "I am sorry miss, but it looks like I am going to have to fight seriously now. At least I'm unarmed"

You appear and STOP the dwarf and the beastman.

CRACK!

The hell?

CRACK!

Rob breaks the [Stop] by himself, his muscles bulging as he grows another half foot tall

He easily picks up Aura with one hand and throws her through several empty cages,

"Sorry!" -he shouts
"I'm okay! I landed on some cottom bags!" -says Aura
The wolfman smirks

The guards surround the slaver, and he comes out of the stop to find himself surrounded

"Brass, help!" -he shouts
The wolfman sighs, and starts heading towards your group

Lyann slows him down

He howls as the [Slow] icon appears next to his name

[Slow] This unit can only move 5" per turn - Source, Lyann

Rob takes a deep breath, and the icon literally gets sucked in.

His muscles bulge even more

"Terribly sorry" -says the wolfman as he picks up a steel cage and swings it at the guards.

"Cant let them get away, kill them all!" -says the slaver

"Get that guy to give up, guys!" -you shout

"You heard him. I assure you, I can very well blast you away in one shot" -says Okaba
"I'm unarmed! i'm unarmed!" cries the dwarf as he curls in on the floor- "Brass, kill the kid already!"

"He's quite tough, actually. Besides, you were too cheap to get me a weapon, remember? " -the wolfman says, quite happy to mess with the slaver

"Can't you just eat the collar?"
"He'll order the others to die if I do that" -he says
"The collars can't do that, it's a bluff!" shouts honoria

Use silence+++
I like this idea a lot

You explain the situation to Rob, and call on the sword's magical silence.

It is completely quiet. Rob blinks, and rips the collar off his neck.

He doesnt needs to eat it now. The collar cant do anything inside magical silence.

You take the dwarf into custody. Rob gives up for his involvement on kidnapping the elves.

Honoria says that he will probably be released or suffer a very minor sentence. You cant fault a slave for following orders

Indeed, a few days later you see Rob outside the courts. He's been left free after checking records to make sure he wasnt enslaved for criminal actions to begin with.

He has the little puppygirl with him. They are both wearing proper clothing this time.

He was given the dwarf's business as compensation and reward for his help during the arrest.

"Im going to check everyone's records and free anyone who's not a criminal" -he says- "I cannot thank you enough, young lord."

"I didint do anything."

"You helped when others wouldnt have. That's doing something. Here, Stella, say thank you."

He lowers the petite girl, who timidly says

"Thank you"

Then she hugs Rob again, and he picks her up.

"What will you do after freeing everyone?" -asks Lyann
"Not everyone, just those who deserve it" -he corrects her
"Well, what will you do then?"
"I have no intention of continuing that business., so I will sell it to someone and relocate to the east"

"Thank him properly." -he says

"... t-thank you" -says the tiny puppy girl, as she blushes
"Alright, you did good" -he pats her gently with his other hand.- "I'll stay in the city for a few weeks. Come see me if you need anything, alright?" -he says as he bows sligthly

"Thank you." -you say politely
"No, thank you, young lord. Your house's reputation is safe in your hands." -he says as he walks off

Well, the thing is that scion isn't really all that powerful. Look at lyann, she's not a scion and she's a goddamned badass. The important thing is just unlocking a whole bunch of jobs and stacking stats. I'm actually surprised okaba hasn't unlocked all of aura's starter jobs like we did with lyann. It's such an obvious thing to do, especially when the cost is absolutely trivial to you.

i just had a moment of inspiration the next rank after scion is Hero then Champion followed by Legend and there should be a requirement besides the levels to rank up like to get to hero
you have to save a city or something difficult

only if you agree to pose and wear a scarf

You visit Rob's Store a few hours later. You find he's stripped it down. Most of the cages are gone now. He let everyone who wasnt a criminal free, and split the slaver's posessions with them.

All that's left slave-wise is a dolphin beastman and ...the former slaver himself.

"Oh, young lord. Welcome. Would you like to buy a dwarf?"
"...no, thanks."
"Probably for the best. This one's a treacherous and cowardly guy"
"ha ha, so funny!" -says the dwarf

"I'm just honest with the customer" -says rob

You explain to Rob about the orphanage, and he seems interested. After talking about it with Okaba, he has no problem receiving the three children Rob couldnt reunite with his families.

He says that since you helped him yet again, he owes you a life debt now.

You already gave him his freedom, and showed him the worth of your heart. If you'd accept him, he'd like to follow you.

>>
>>35431006
It really depends on how exp scales.

If it's linear, as in level*x xp to go up one level, then keeping him as slave till scion makes sense.

If it's quadratic, like level^2, then it could go either way, depending on the exact formula.

If it's geometric, like 2^level, then it makes no sense to keep him a slave.

We really need to experiment with levels and dungeons a bit to figure out what the xp curves in this world actually are.

Considering how prevalent slavery is, and how long lived some of the races are, it seems strange that more scions haven't popped up. I mean, it takes 100 years of life as a slave, without any other xp gain, to get scion, and elves definitely can do that.

Unlock everyone's starter jobs.

Then change their class(villager/nomad?)and unlock all their starting classes again.

we have the gold and it's a quick way to raise stats and bonus points.
>>
>>35431153
I know, right?
>>
>>35431314
>Then change their class(villager/nomad?)and unlock all their starting classes again.

Sadly we can't do this. We can give all the slave jobs because there is no level requirement to swap jobs. Nobles have to be 10, nomads 5 and villagers 10.
>>
>>35431324
FUCK! we missed another way around it! first my one about gotta save his master to this
>>
>>35431243
Yes, unlock all Jobs but keep the Classes for now.
The Class has some really good stat bonuses, and Rob is already halfway to Scion.
>>
>>35431173
high mortality rate, not everyone is as nice to their slaves as you and okaba, and nice people tend to not keep slaves to begin with

alright give me about 10 minutes, hold on
>>
>>35431395
>stat bonuses

What are you talking about? Stats are permanently added upon level up.

And again, we don't know what the xp curves in this world are. He might be halfway to scion, but each level costs more than the sum total of all the levels before it.
>>
>>35431449
The stat increases provided at each level-up of a Class is what I'm talking about.

Slaves get +2 Str, Dex, and Con, and get 4 times the HP of a Nomad and twice that of a Villager on level up.

Nomad only gets +1 Str and Con, and +2 Dex.
Villager is +1 Str, Dex, and Con.

And because we don't know how XP curves, and because changing Classes is harder to rationalize than Jobs for a person, I think it's easier to keep his Class unchanged for now.
>>
>>35431536
>and because changing Classes is harder to rationalize than Jobs for a person

You go to a priest and he changes both. Done.
>>
>>35430815
So what do priests know about a person when they change their classes/jobs? Do they get a listing of everything that person has?
>>

You don't think a person deserves to hear why their Class is being changed?
>>
>>35431713
'You're no longer a slave'.
>>
>>35431726
Except the case I'm talking about is changing a person's Class back to Slave, either to unlock Scion, or to continue getting the extra HP and stats on level-up.
>>
>>35431773
No it wasn't. The case you're talking about is Rob, going from 52 slave back to 7 villager so he can get lots of cheap stat points.

If we wanted to change elli back to slave and start leveling her to scion? Definitely an explanation required.
>>
>>35431830
People want to change Rob back to Villager.
I'm saying that he should stay Slave, because if we change him to Villager and then figure out it's more economical for him to have stayed Slave to get Scion, it's going to be more awkward to get him to become a Slave again.
>>
>>35431911
At that point, we need to get mom to let us talk about scion to people we trust and explain the situation to Rob.

As far as I understand it, she should be getting full xp even if she's just leeching.

>>
>>35433505
Well mamluk aside she is just a kid so naturally her level is going to be low if it is tied to age somewhat but whatever she will probably come with us in the future
>>
>>35433453
you uys are sucking exp from her. You know, level difference.

I wonder if I should just give exp evenly? i actually used to use the method where you'd get bonus exp if you were lower level when running D&D back in the day, to help yuo catch up to the others...

Its just so hard to imagine a 4 yrs old toddler as high level, you know?
>>
>>35433356
I know you said past 1k mana crystals are worth more, is there a second point at like 5k or 10k where value spikes?

I think it would be hilarious, even if it was incredibly dangerous giving a 4 year old that much power
>>
>>35433536

What counts for this? Class level difference? Sum total of active jobs?
>>
>>35433536
dont give exp evenly that would make alot of over powered people
>>
Oh, I mistrandlated. What shieldbro's slave correction does is give extra stats per level to slaves, not extra exp

This is from the novel, btw. I think it was skipped in the manga

Want to change it to stat bonus instead of exp? Its why rafaella is kicking around dragons at level 42 in the LN
>>
>>35433540
uhmm... i guess there would be, sure. No idea right now, but sounds good to me

>>35433561
as long as shes not a wizard so she cant send you to the cornfield
>>
>>35433597
I guess that depends on the amount of stats. Exp is good since it allows us to unlock more jobs faster.
>>
>>35433597
I think the bonus XP is better than bonus stats, because we can simply level more Jobs to get more stats.

Also, when we get back to Albion, we need to drag Elli to a Temple and open up all of her Villager jobs, switch her back to Nomad, open all those jobs, then switch her back to Villager.

That way we can get this passive feat for any class of party member we have, barring Noble.
>>
>>35433679
Elli has slave and nomad, not villager.
>>
>>35433706
she has villager shes a craftsman
>>
>>35433706
Then maybe ask Mom to do it? Or our regular dungeon diving group? Being able to provide XP bonuses to everyone in our party, not just ourselves, is both good in getting down to deeper levels of dungeons and it's a good thing to do for friends.
>>
>>35433679
Slave is the only class that can unlock all its jobs at once. Every other class requires you to have at levels in the job first. Nobles and villagers require level 10, nomads require level 5.

That said, if we can deal with floor 20+ getting elli all the nomad jobs in addition to the slave jobs shouldn't take very long.
>>
>>35433767
slaves have craftsman as starting job

>>35433569
highest level. Brass is basically level 52 compare to us and lyann who are level 24
Stella was level 2, that was a 50 levels difference. I think its lucky she got any exp at all

Also we didint got enough to level either

Going with brass its super fast and safe but not very good exp wise

Its great if you are farming loots, tho.

One of his skills allows him to do several attacks after charging, and another lets him charge after killing anything, so its charge/kill/charge/kill/charge/kill/charge/kill/charge/kill/etc
>>
>>35433767
Slaves have craftsman. Look above.

>>35433812
Sure, but telling all our dungeon diving compatriots to level as many jobs as possible is basically letting the scion cat out of the bag and people in this thread are pathologically terrified of anything even remotely like that.
>>
>>35433857
>highest level. Brass is basically level 52 compare to us and lyann who are level 24
>Stella was level 2, that was a 50 levels difference. I think its lucky she got any exp at all

Ok, have brass switch to nomad. His slave level is too high for the rest of us right now.
>>
>>35433879
Elli is Nomad/Slave (currently Nomad) and a level 10 Craftsman (able to open up other jobs)
Mom is a Villager with level 14 Thaumaturge.
We should be able to get the first level of the passive for Nomad and Villager, which comprises our regular dungeon-diving party.

That way we can provide the passive without them figuring out the Jobs thing, until mom is ready to release the information in an academic context.

Is that an acceptable compromise?
>>
>>35432886
I see what you did there sheildbro
>>
>>35433985
I was the guy who suggested making a dungeon party with mom and elli, so you're preaching to the choir here.

Might have to switch lyann to villager as well, she's starting to outpace us pretty heavily.

>>35433910
We could just not bring him along for our dungeon-diving when we want XP, and bring him along for loot runs.

We could also tell him that we figured out a trick about changing Classes that allows for rapid power gain, to explain why we want to switch him from Slave to Nomad, and back to Slave when both Classes are same level.
That way, it's explained as an exploit we discovered but doesn't let him know about Scion until he finally gets it himself.

People know about Jobs, Classes, and Levels. So saying we discovered an exploit by watching Class changes and noticing the change in level growth is less disruptive than saying we read the Help file.
>>
>>35434122
Or, instead, we take the supertank and level up really fast.

hero of the shield... honestly i dont know the name of the manga, but a lot of us at /tg/ are reading it. Its about 4 heroes that get summoned to a fatasy world, spear, sword, bow, and shield, and NOONE wants to go with shield because he has no dps
He ends up buyin slaves to help him, and it turns out he has the power to protect teammates and they start having adventures together and all that. Its pretty nice

***

"Uhmm... mister wolfwood?"
"What is it, young lord? oh, you can call me Rob or Brass if you want"
"Got it. Uh,,, what do you think of switching your slave level for nomad again?"
"I dont see a problem, why?"
"Well, you would lose your item box"
"Ah... I am rather fod of it, but I don't have anythiong ON it right now... I would really like to have stuff to place on it, you know?"
"So?"
"I guess it is alright? just no dancer please"
"Alright"

You talk with the local shrine maiden and get Brass' class switched back to nomad.

This improves his defenses slightly, triggering his light and medium armor expertise secondary bonuses

"Uh... I'll miss my item box"
"Sorry, but this is better for the group in general"
"If you say so, young lord"
"Call me Eldric, please"
"I owe you a life debt, so I'll pass. Maybe when you are older"
"Alright"

"Hey, can I call you young lord, too?" -asks Lyann
"No" -firmly
"Aaww"

Brass' smiles as we go to town.
The streets are as orderly as always, and noone seems to mind us.

When his Nomad level reaches parity with Slave, that's when we should switch it back.
For the kind of fighter that he is, he doesn't need the MP from Nomad, and the HP gain is 4 times greater, and the Str, Dex, and Con gains doubled.

>>35434299
I think it's him missing the huge Item Box he had.
Over 100 slots before.
>>
>>35434235

You browse around, and talk with the locals. It looks as if everyone is really invested into the coalition and happy to be a part of it, specially after what happened to the elves.

You do find some interesting rumours.
* A master craftsman has brought back the secret for making flying ships from his trip to the far east.
* Some elf slaves have been dissapearing as of late (you solved this one already, but word hasnt spread yet)
* There's rumours of orcish war parties closer to the city than they have been in the last hundred years. The locals blame the Alquian empire, saying they are supporting the orcs
* There are rumours about some of the plants in the reserves coming alive and attacking woodchickers. People is worried the fine woods industry is in danger.
* There are rumours of a Cauldron of Plenty supplying the Alquian troops with food supplies

We have to have a little sit down with brass at some point and tell him about bladedancers. Plus how he'll have no trouble getting chicks with all the additional appearance.

Actually, since bladedancer is a hybrid of barbarian, wouldn't that mean he gets his full repertoire of rage actives?

He would be a goddamned monster.
>>
>>35434329
nomad does give weapon skills per level, though. So he'd get more tricks. Dunno how useful those would be rather than raw stats.
>>
>>35434394
>* Some elf slaves have been dissapearing as of late (you solved this one already, but word hasnt spread yet)
we should talk to honoria about changing the public slaves "must obey any order given to them" into something more sensible

such as
>Orders of the king take precedence of all other orders
>The king has standing orders to:
>Report any crime you know about
>Not assist anyone in committing a crime
etc.
with some safeties for the slave's protection as well.

The slavetrader took advantage of the "must obey anyone" rule. an enemy spy could as well by ordering them to spy, steal, or murder.
>>

>>
>>35433597
Growth Correction indeed only gives stats per level, but pretty much anything related to that is completely broken in the Shieldbro setting. Don't do it.

+xp and +hp are comparatively better for balance and makes sense for people who keep lots of slaves. Their slaves seem to get stronger faster and last longer, but that's easily explained by experience from handling them, rather than actually being stronger.

>flying ships+

You decide to check the rumour about the fabled cauldron.

The merchant that was talking about it gets nervous when you ask him, but he does say that one of the elf slaves mentioned it.

You ask to talk with the elf, and the merchant says you'll need to come back after hours since he has it working on his shop.

With some time to burn, you go back to the palace and ask Kalliira to take care of Stella for you.

"I will be happy to, young lord" -she says with a smile- "...thankyou"
"What for?"
"For helping us. I got my little brother back."
"I'm glad to hear that"

You run into Aura, that is walking around dwarf-like (on bare feet), wearing a short white dress as she eats some peaches by the garden.

This girl has too much free time.

Really, aren't you supposed to be a bodyguard?

"Eldric, hi!" -she says with a shining smile
"Hello"

Brass apologizes to Aura for throwing her like that. She seems to be alright with it. He did throw her into sacks full of cotton, and she was wearing her armor at the time.

"So, what are you doing?" -she asks

You explain to her, and she asks if she can go along. Okaba is in the royal library and it doesnt looks like he's going anywhere else troday

In short, she's bored and she wants to play-

Really Okaba, is this girl really a bodyguard?

You tell her to get dressed, and she just pokes her collar to have her armor appear on her.

Then she sends it away.
Then she puts it back on.

"Master did it for me. Its just kept on my [Item Box] until I need it" -she says happily
"That looks quite useful"
"Yup! I can take it off for him at the push of a button!" -she says with a wider smile than usual- "If only he ever told me to" -sighs

"You have fun friends" -says Brass

You go out after leaving a message to Okaba, and head back into town.

Indeed, the slave is a young elf. He explains that he saw the Cauldron himself.

"Its not like the legends tell" -he explains- "They had to feed it first. They threw metal bars into it, and it grew and grew. Then they started taking food out of it, and it slowly shrunk"

"Oh, that sounds more like some sort of alchermy" -says Aura as she finishes her peach

You stare at her

"What? I know stuff. Master is always teaching me boring things."
"You should tell him if they're boring"
"But I like it when he talks to me!"

-sigh-

Well, are they getting metal from a dungeon? it seems unlikely any metal would make it through dad's raids if food isint getting through.

It seems much more likely that someone is supplying them with metal bars.

Maybe some merchant? the Alquians are allied with the orcs in the souther regions of the mountains. Are the orcs supplying them?

Do you want to follow the idea that merchants are supplying the Alquians, and ask around for any large shipments of metal ?

Or do you want to look into the orcs?

You thank the elf, and leave. Perhaps asking the caravans? it is doubtful that they would directly go all the way to the Alquian army, but maybe they are meetin somewhere else or selling the metal at some neutral town.

Which happens to be what you find. The caravaneers confirm that they have been shipping metal bars in large amounts to a southwestern settlement.

That in itself its not illegal or even suspicious unless you are following your train of thought.

Do you want to to interrogate the merchant sending the metals off, or wait until you have more evidence? You may have to travel south yourself.

The caravaneers say it would be a 3 days trip.

(btw we are on page 8 and my other game starts in a little under an hour, should we stop for this week?)

Aura has a charisma of 15 and no skills that aren't relating to combat.

Being a succubus didn't make her a master manipulater(or her relationship with okaba would be different).
