Rare as it been for me to come here. Truth be told, it out of my own volition. The master is a kind one, yet one cannot help but feel at least somewhat unsettled in his presence. I do suspect many others feel the same, indeed moreso as most other houses are rumoured to have much harsher policies in place regarding decorum and the day to day running of their affairs.

Bless the Flame for bringing me here, even if it ends up leading to situations such as this one. But enough dallying, this will not get easier with time. Briefly I inspect my ornate armoured gauntlets - complete with razor-sharp tips fashioned after dragon claws- making sure no spot remains, then rap against the door with my left hand, right held at the proper angle behind the back.

Silence.

No worries, the master is probably busy. Another rap is quickly followed by a curt "Enter" and I push apart the Ebony doors, speaking inside my mind te rite of cleansing so very familiar now.

Within the temple of the mind burns a living flame. Within the temple of the mind grows a cleansing fire. Within the temple of the mind speaks a howling whisper--

The room is even more cramped with paper and artefacts from all across the family's holdings and the rest of the world than I remember it, half-finished sparkwire transcribers and spare parts arranged in in several circles around the heavyset table.

"Who comes into the Presence?" The voice is deep and controlled, powerful and used to giving orders. I fight down the urge to fuss with my cloak or hair. No time to be unseemely.

"It is I, a humble messenger, here to say what has been seen and leave out nothing on threat of destruction". I walk closer towards the far away wall of the room, its owner still with its back turned towards me. The armor encasing me feels so natural now, strong and safe as if were my own skin, and the interlocking plates and boiled leather move almost as naturally, too.

Some sort of oath only a Witch can be witness to… I heard of such a thing, but I've never had it sworn to me or with my help.

His eyes -a fairly composed-yet-attentive grey ringed with gold- look down on me expectantly.

I can feel the emotions inside of me churn and stir, heart beating even stronger, threatening to rip itself out of my chest and through the armor. My powers. Back. A new mission. A new life… though at the same time it seems daunting, the past threathening to swallow me if I give it an inch. By the flame, Master is standing way too close for comfort.

To be truthful, I've heard of this kind of thing, though the fact that even now details are unknown to me is setting my hair on end. Knowing Master, he'll want a quick decision, not being a man patient with those asking endless questions of fretting while trying to weigh their options.

I suspect that this is the kind of thinking that lets people shape the world while those more grounded help them not hurt themselves. It is not quite unlike the divide between Dark and Light. One needs the other, even if they are completely opposite.
