You look to Beth, who is sleeping soundly, even through this horrible noise, and decide instead of waking her up, you slowly slip out of her arms and start searching.

Its not too hard to figure out, and soon you find it placed on the dresser facing the computer chair. It's one of those alarms that require you to solve math questions before it will shut off. You grumble, this is supposed to be summer break, as you solve it.

A minute or two later its finally off and Beth is still sleeping, though you are wide awake and will never be able to go back to sleep. You sigh as you consider what to do.

You figure she must be exhausted if that alarm clock didn't even phase her, it honestly probably could wake the dead... that said if your going to wait you might as well get back in bed, even if its summer its still chilly while naked, your nipples seem determined to let you know this.

Well whatever, you climb back in bed, and move in close to Beth, cuddling her from behind. You shiver as your nipples drag across the fabric of her pajamas... you find your mind wandering back to the dream you had... it was intense, not to mention normally you'd be in the other position. You swallow hard and snuggle in closer, well it wasn't that bad you suppose. It's certainly something new, though something you're not used to... that makes it pretty exciting.

It takes another hour of sleep, you kind of doze through most of it, when you feel Beth place a hand on your shoulder and shake you awake, "Hey... Alex, the suns up," Beth waits for you to open your eyes, "I'll go take a shower if you want to sleep more... no you can't come with it's too early in the morning for that," she finishes with a beautiful smile.

It's a very strange thing, the dreamscape. Even if you realize you are dreaming ye may not be able to take full control of it. It is a boundary between the conscious and subconscious mind. Not clearly defined yet exists nonetheless.

A "lucid" dreamer is able to tell when they are in fact dreaming 9 times out of 10. During those times they are quite able to exert a given amount of influence. However, this negatively impacts the amount of rest they gain from it.

Dreams are a way to compact the gains of sleep. A lucid dreamer is essentially halfway conscious during those periods of dreaming. Thus, he didn't receive the bonus usually granted (e.g. a man who "dreamed" for 3 hours got 5 hours of "sleep" out of those). Perhaps best he didn't, as lucid dreamers don't have to worry about nightmares waking them in the dead of night. But if he has no inner demons then it would perhaps be best that he could not tell the difference. Science has not yet revealed the facts of this. Studies are ongoing, but being one able to Lucid Dream is apparently a Buff/Debuff as we would understand it at the current time...
