By the time I was in my teens I had figured out enough to know that a normal relationship wasn't going to be enough for me. Part of it was learning from my first experience and part of it was reading through the information I'd looked up, but in the end, some things just felt right....

I did have a few people I was close to in school of course, but they didn't really get to know what I really wanted. It wasn't shame or anything just having to be careful. High schoolers are pretty evil in general. Still, there was my best friend Emilia, my sweetheart friend Jorge who was so far out of the closet that he wasn't even in the house, and my fellow art student Kimball who took me to the prom and the ball. I still keep in touch with them through email and the occasional text, though they live in Sacramento. It's not that far by the light rail.

But now I have finally moved in and have made my little place as much of a home as possible. Everything is unpacked and put in its place. I don't own a television, but I have a very nice computer system; I have a few sets of very nice clothes, and a few sets of casual wear, but I'll have to buy more soon. The lack of a tub is a problem, but the shower is always hot and I don't pay for water. I have some nice jewelery, but I also have a few pieces of my own work that is very good. I don't have a car but I won a bicycle and they have lockers for them at the street level. My coffee table has a lift-up top so that I can store some....special things inside it without it being obvious. The futon is fold out and wonderfully comfortable. My place looks nice enough to have people over without any worries of embarrassment.

It's early afternoon. I have enough in my trust fund to keep up on rent and utilities and food for about six months, which should be long enough to find a job. Shane Company isn't too far by bus, but taking a cab will make sure I look my best for the interview if they actually give me a real one. Shreve Company might not be looking at my application to closely, but it wouldn't hurt to remind them that I'm still interested. It is important for a young woman to be prepared for the world of business, so I was already prepared for interviews with some classy suits and dresses. Still, the power suit look is very in vogue. A medium length skirt to show some leg while being modest enough to be professional. Silk looks nice on me, and something shimmery and cream colored as a blouse works much more nicely than a white dress shirt would. Maybe....maybe a semi-Chinese style jacket? Not a cheongsam, but a low collar jacket. This will work....and a choker isn't a bad idea. Not with a heart though, something less....less suggestive. Not a cameo either. Maybe the eight pointed star as a clip. Hose, of course, though I prefer stockings. Must keep things very sedate.

I look in the full length mirror, and add a pair of elegant and shined flats to it. Heels are nice but most jewelery stores have carpeting, which is really dangerous. Probably why chargen of a chatacter's personality in such a direct way isn't exactly the best idea.

I'm here to write it, I'll deal with the problems I have power over as they crop up. Arguments over content of a contentious quest is inevitable and that's all right. The people who are interested will stay, and people who aren't won't. I've proven I can juggle concepts that other people find irreconcilable before, this will be no different.

But Ill have time to get a better gem collection at least.

I sometimes take on an idea in the QTG. I don't write my own quest ideas. If it seems interesting enough for the audience that enjoys what I write, I'll run it, but it's a very rare thing. This is one of two short shots, the other being Adult Cannibal Loli quest. There's no real process involved, mostly a decision to write something and deciding how I'm going to torture myself.
