You are Nomad, the leader of Able Squad aka "Unable Squad", a team composed of seven female misfits and rejects. Your current Host is one Lieutenant Rodney Watkins, a veteran of the Cryptid Wars.

Able Squad was deployed to a cathedral dedicated to a deity of firearm-based self-defense, causing a series of events that culminated in a massive creature from the sewers assaulting the city before it was put down by the local military.
Following extraction, Able Squad learned that they and twelve other squads were deployed on missions that all resulted in major collateral damage. All were seemingly authorized by one Major Gregori Thomo, who was executed three years prior. While heavy investigations are being conducted, you and the rest of your squad have been granted a "vacation" at Orbital Cityscape Little Downtown until 10 AM tomorrow.

--
The elevator opens and you exit into an alleyway. Odd. You turn around and see that what was once an elevator door now resembles a regular metallic backdoor. A few moments of curious examination reveals several holoprojectors hidden in crevices. Wondering, you touch a few of the bricks on the wall next to the door. Well, at least those are real.
Looking up, through the gap between the buildings you behold white, green, blue, and grouped yellow and orange of varying intensities.

Earth at night.

After a half-minute of thoughtless gazing, you look away and pull your PDA out of your pocket. You had left it behind while leaving for the mission and the station's AI had it delivered to you via drone a few minutes ago.
As a group of people walk by the exit of the alley, you decide to look through your PDA in the alley instead of doing it while walking.

You browse through the files and Apps. Most of your notes and texting history is password-protected. One App, "Unable to Locate" catches your eye. Opening it, a map of Little Downtown is displayed with 16 dots, over each one a name or '[name's] [building]'. On a sidebar are a list of addresses and names.
Not only do you know where your Squad is, you know where they and you yourself live.

You look at the time. 7:10 PM, not too late and you doubt the majority of Able sleeps much. Chatting them up probably wouldn't hurt.

Where to go first...
[ ]Check out your home.
[ ]Visit Jezori.
[ ]Take a look at Vivel's place.
[ ]Spend some time with Suko.
[ ]Drop in on Veronika.
[ ]Go see Teza.

Man, losing memories when we jump Hosts is a real pain.
>>
might want to advertise somewhere like the /qtg/ even with the risk of inviting some cancerous posters just to get a few more players.

I've been considering it more than a little, will probably do it for the next thread.
That said, need a tiebreaker.

can we go home then visit Veronika?
>>
[x]Check out your home.
[x]Drop in on Veronika.

You decide to pay a visit to Veronika later, but first you wanna check out your home. You need to remember, badly.

You tap the your home address on the touch screen and a path is automatically charted to your home. You start walking.
"Gooooo straight forward gooo!" The sing-song voice of Hazuko loudly emits from your PDA, startling you. Quickly turning the volume down you look at the App's menu again. On the sidebar is a small box labelled "Voice Sets". You tap it finding, three selections: Vivel, Hazuko and Off. Curious, you select Vivel and walks backwards a bit.
"Tuuurrn around my lord, I'm here..." You immediately turn off the voice setting, resisting a sudden desire to look behind you. You walk forward but it remains, an irrational fear, an urge, several things in your mind wanting you to look behind. Look behind. Irritated, you discard the thoughts and they vanish instantly.
[Unlike with the regular human, non-basic urges and thoughts can be eliminated at will. Don't think of a pink elephant.]
Not a voice, a memory. You shake your head and move out onto the street.

Little Downtown is odd. Empty stores, exaggerated billboards and digitial signs, fake cars embedded into the road, murals on the distant walls painting an outgoing world. It feels more like an exhibition set than a mini-city that's lived in. And lived in it is, from a home you pass by has a bunch of people singing rather loudly and on a bench you pass by was a man with a blanket intended for a king-sized bed.
You walk, ignoring the people who pass by until you reach your destination, a dark, silent apartment complex. Unlike elsewhere the doors are more modern, sliding opening automatically. In the dim light you note the apartment mailboxes embedded into a wall. Moving closer, you find that none of them have names.
You check that App again, looking at your address.
No 7., that's where.
>>
First-floor, almost at the end of a hallway. Your door is different than the others, reinforced metal while the others are merely wood. You reach for the doorknob and twist. Locked and no keyhole. As you look at the door for a moment you almost don't notice the little drone that emerged from a little crevice. It runs some scanner-light over you before you hear a click from the door. You quickly enter.
Dark for a few seconds before the dim lights of various colors turn on. Red, purple, orange.
The overall look is that of a small designer's apartment. It consists of a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen with a couple dining tables, what seems to be an art studio with a surgical bed , and a room that's blocked off. All the windows are blocked with large wooden boards.

In the bedroom there's a desk with a computer next to a single-sized bed, a large couch, a camping tent on the floor by the TV. In the art studio, along with paintings there's a bunch of a notes nailed to the wall, a bookcase with a handful of books, an odd life-sized poster of a man with an open mouth, and a double-barreled shotgun on a workstation covered with dry paint.

Lot to look at. What do you want to examine in particular? (Insert option)

Look at the notes first.

>Your current Host is
so, what does this mean?
are we a ghost? a brain parasite?
is he a willing host or a captive in his own body? can we tap into his memories? can we communicate with him? is he fully self aware?
>>
>>35266682
check notes, then computer
our team said memory loss is normal for us, surely we left ourselves notes about this and our life in general
>>

One note contains the basics for firearm safety. Another is a simple list of the members of Able Squad and their adresses. Yet another is a list of measurements of time.
The longest, labelled IMPORTANT, you decide to read aloud in order to help memorize it.
"I work by "nesting" in a Prime Host. From the Prime I can jump into another living entity to use a Host, a Prime Host is mostly released from my control when I am absent but cannot act against me. Changing Prime Hosts is the most frequent cause of memory loss. The second most frequent is attempting to force remembrance of my own memories, especially with no outside help or references. Loss can occur seemingly without cause. All memory loss is temporary, but on my own it may take years to remember thousands of lives and even more deaths."
You look through the other notes, a few favorite recipes and some basic survival notes. The last one is a single sentence.
"Trust others as you please."

You move away from the notes, basics mostly as it turns out, and move into your bedroom. Pressing a button, the machine slowly "whirrs" to life and the monitor turns on automatically. Fan probably needs cleaning.
'HegemOSy V1.06' appears on the screen for a few moments switching to a desktop, no log in screen it seems.
The desktop background changes every ten seconds to different photos of the members of Able Squad. More than a few were almost definitely taken without their permission.

You open a "HegEmail" program, wondering if alternative programs were available to these presumably government-created ones.

You look through the emails, something in you surprised at the complete lack of spam. There's a hundred or so, most reports.
Some are the results of multiple psych evals on the squad, very lengthy ones that you copy into a mail folder for reading later.
One that catches your eyes is one from Shizi.

>Re: Get these for me?
>You owe me an ERP.

>This is a summarization of several reports, detailed findings can be acquired by request.
>Entity can be harmed or contained through various methods that are to be kept on a need-to-know basis for security reasons.
>Entity is visible to the naked eye does not exist physically. Details on its appearance and possible similarities
>Entity can only "enter" sapient beings,
>Mechanism for how Entity enters and controls the mind of a sapient being is unclear, scans generally return no results out of the ordinary. Abnormal scan results are still undergoing study.
>Any Host the Entity enters appears to have their consciousness merged with Entity for the duration of the "stay", although at times Host can vocalize or think independently for brief periods. Regaining full control of the body for any amount of time by a Host has shown to be impossible for a Host regardless of mental strength, even in the case of psionics.
>Hosts can remember all details unless the Entity removes them. Entity cannot remove memories that were not acquired during its "stay" in a Host.
>Hosts under control of the Entity have never shown anything more than meek resistance to committing acts of hostile or cruel nature, regardless of whom the act is being performed upon.

And forgot my name and trip, of course.
Sorry but once more that's all for tonight, constant interruptions have made things difficult.

rampant paranoia and should not be taken seriously...
but what if the whole scenario here right now where we are a captain in the military in command of a group of misfits is a containment method for us?
