You are Strength, today is the twenty-fifth of July, the sunlight coming in through the windows is warm and pleasant, your gloves are tucked away nice and safe in the corner of the room, and you're relatively calm.

You're sitting, cross-legged, on a very comfy cushion. The table you're sitting at is pretty low to the ground, something you're not very used to, and there are three other people sitting at the table with you.
The lady who brought you here- Mami, as you've learned she's called- is sitting directly across from you, looking worried and talking on the phone with someone. On either side of her, there's a girl- both of the girls look the same, and, apparently, they're both her girlfriends- one of them is sipping daintily at her tea, and the other is looking at you rather strangely.

Mami concludes her call and lets out an exasperated sigh. “Okay, girls,” she says, “here's the deal: Akari-chan needs to be picked up, the office needs to be opened, someone needs to be here when Kyouko-chan and Sayaka-chan arrive, and I don't feel comfortable leaving Yuu-chan alone.”

The girls who look alike look at one another, then at you, then Mami, and then each other again.

The Twins choose now to speak up. “I think it's a fine idea, don't you, sister?” “Why, I believe I do. In fact, I'll go with her.” “And I'll head to the office.” They both fix Mami with a stern look. Mami, for her part, seems surprised. “And Mami can stay here and rest.” “And welcome her friends, too.”

They stand in unison.

“But... you two hate to be separate,” Mami says, “...don't you?”

“Of course we do.” “Why wouldn't we?” “But we hate watching you overwork yourself even more.” “Oooh, well said, sister dearest.” “Thank you, sister.” “I call them as I see them.”

One of them offers you her hand. “Come, then, Yuu-chan,” she says, “perhaps, if we hurry, Akari-chan won't manage to get herself into more trouble by the time we arrive.”

You turn down the offered hand with a shake of your head, then head over to where your gloves are and go though the motions of putting them on- plugging them into neural ports, running routine diagnostics and tests, performing a quick visual inspection, then, finally, locking them into place.

The twin watches impassively for the minute or so the process takes.

You open your hands and clench them into fists a few times, just to verify that everything's working properly, then, satisfied, you follow her out the door.

Twenty minutes later, you're carrying an unconscious red-haired girl out of that strange arena place.

You don't say anything the whole trip, and the Twin only spoke to confirm who she was and what she was there for. And (naturally) Akari doesn't speak, either.

All in all, you'd say it was a pretty good trip.

You make good time on your way back to Mami's apartment, too- it only takes you a little over ten minutes to get there.

Once you reach the door, the twin pats you on the head, mutters a brief farewell, and (after opening the door for you) departs, presumably to rejoin her sister.

When you enter, you find yourself presented with a rather interesting sight.

Mami is joined at the table by two girls- one with her hair in a long, red ponytail; the other with short, blue hair- and they seem to be getting along rather well.

And, awkwardly sitting a ways back from the table, her legs unable to fit under it, is Chariot.

Mami gets up and hustles over to you, holding her arms out to accept the sleeping red-haired girl.

But, no. Your fist slams into her side, and the impact sends her flying through the large window that makes up the outside wall of Mami's apartment.

She manages to get herself almost upright before you're upon her.

You take a running leap and pounce on her, taking her back down to the ground in a strange and brutal twist on the tackle. You pin her down with one arm laid across her torso.

She doesn't resist, doesn't even struggle as you snatch the crown off of her head and crush it in your hand in a single motion, the same way one might crush an aluminum can.

The moment the crown leaves her head, however, her demeanor changes entirely. You feel yourself thrown off balance as what you can only assume is one of her legs sweeps both of yours out from under you.

In that instant, she jerks sideways, coming out from under your arm, grabbing your shoulder in the same motion and slamming you face-first into the dirt.

The impact dazes you somewhat- enough that you can't react to her slipping her fingers into your hood-thing in time to stop her from tearing it to shreds.

Something in your mind suddenly stops, and...

You grunt and finagle yourself into an upright position- which, given the size of your gloves, is easier said than done- then turn to face the now-crownless Chariot.
She's grinning- covered in mud, dirt, cuts, and bruises as she is- and standing in that kinda-awkward way she always used to, with her knees almost-knocking in such a way that it almost looks like she needs to go to the bathroom really badly.

You murmur a long, heartfelt apology, even managing to masterfully work a rather suave greeting into the whole thing, and she blinks.

“Huh? Could you repeat that? My ears are still ringing.”

She passes that last part off with a laugh, but she cringes a little as she does so.

You feel pretty bad about that.

You skip the greeting/apology and go straight for the meat of the problem.

You ask about the headgear.

She shrugs. “You pulled my crown off, and I just wasn't afraid anymore, y'know? I just kinda figured they'd started calling you 'Berserker' for a reason.”
