LAST EPISODE: You were a nurse’s assistant.
- - -

When the PKE blast wave hits, you were just in the middle of a long slurp of your breakfast ramen. At least you weren’t in Sato’s postion, testing the calibration of the ecto-goggles. Akira and Star were also rather caught off guard, but they were in less reactionary position when the wave hit.

“Was that us?” Akira asks first.

“No…I don’t think so.” Star says, getting out her phone that just chimed. “Rei and the PAGANs down at the sanctuary are asking what’s going on as well.”

“Was it them?” You ask.

“Don’t think so. They were repairing the hole in the roof we made and restoring the garden, then whatever THAT was hit, and every Yokai either hit the floor, or puked, or is nursing a massive headache.” Star says. “According to Rei and Rini, no one was doing anything.”

THUD. THUDTHUDTHUD THUD!

The sound of Sachiko’s arrows hitting your door is clearly heard.
>>
>>34957225
Sato’s phone pings and he hands it to Akira, as he’s still temporarily blind. “Kaede says that Sachiko was in the shower. Your sister says if we were responsible, we should already be running, because after Sachiko’s done with us, she’s going to give us to the vampires.” Akira says.

“So it probably wasn’t them,” You say as you finish cleaning up the spilled ramen. “So…what the heck WAS that?”

“I’ll do a news, web, and phone check.” Star says. “Maybe in the meantime, someone could contact Central and the others?”

“I’ll go outside and see if anyone needs help after that.” Sato says, his vision returning. “The PKE sensitive people probably got hit like a ton of bricks.”

“I want to check the containment field. Make sure that it isn’t going to explode.” Akira says.

Also, later we need Rei to sign an Imperial Edict, and announce it at Yasukuni Shrine.

"I, Lady Rei Kachidoki, recognized member of the Imperial Family, do hereby exhort and command the warriors of the Imperial Japanese Navy and of the Imperial Japanese Army in foreign lands to return to Tokyo in defense of the Home Islands, to bring with them their arms and armor raised in their duty to the Empire, for the duration of the Lunar Conjunction."
>>
>>34957588
She isn't officially reconciled with the Emperor (and thus Imperial blessing/authority) yet remember? Because we let Pagan still exist and are using them as our canon fodder.
>>
>>34957632
Yurei noted she can command, just that she can't countermand.
>>
>>34957709
I suppose.

Still, we'd need to word it better because technically the IJN and IJA were both disbanded by the Japanese constitution with implicit Imperial approval.
>>

Check on yurei and the vagabonds. Let everyone know step two of whatever they are doing is check for source of pke event.
>>
>>34957288
The data collected from our equipment should be accessible later after we do the more important things, so Sato needs to check on the PKE people first.

We need to check on Yurei because she's a good influence on Rei (also she's Yurei), and the Vagabonds because they're our money ticket.

I think they mean to call the ghosts of the dead to rise from their graves across the Pacifjc and defend the homeland.
>>
>>34958223
I know, that would be hard since we can't exactly call the Imperial forces since they have been officially abolished by constitution, and by expy, the will of the Emperor who is legally bound by the constitution.

Also possible that death or the afterlife are not so easily persuaded to give back their charges, since surely other god kings in the past would have called forth their servants from the beyond the grave if they tried.

You let the others check on their tasks and you go to check on Yurei and the Vagabonds.

You can see that the Chyme screen is flashing ERROR ERROR ERROR.

The Vagabonds items as still on the shelf, safe, where you placed them. Although their usual pile of junk food, and manga is in total disarray.

You pick up the Chyme and gently tap a few buttons.

"Yurei? You in there? You okay?"

After a couple of seconds the screen clears and you see Yurei, dressed in her white ghost costume. She's lying on the 'ground' and she's got spirals for eyes and is holding her head.

You smile. If she's able to go and play cutesy, then she must be okay.

- - WHAT HAPPENED? - -

"We're not sure."

- - FEEL LIKE I GOT HIT BY A TRUCK. A TRUCK FILLED WITH BRICKS...MADE OUT OF SMALLER TRUCKS. - -

"Okay, well when you think you won't spew ectoplasm over anything, could you go check on the Vagabonds? They're all locked in their foci."

Yurei nods, appears in reality, and floats, slowly, over to the Vagabonds' 'homes' she knocks on them. Then goes back into the Chyme.

- - THEY'RE OKAY. HIT WORSE THAN ME. NEED TO REST. NO PERMANENT DAMAGE. CAN I GO LIE DOWN? - -

"Sure." You say and set Yurei's Chyme back down, seeing her cartoon of her hiding under covers with an ice pack on her head.

You head back to the others. "The ghosts are fine, but they aren't going to be bouncing around like usual."

"Sunspot my ass." Star grumbles. "So totally bogus."

"Sunspot?" You ask.

"It's what they're saying happened. It looks like both Pacific coastlines got hit." She says.

"Anything major?" You ask.

She shakes her head. "Nah. Some blackouts, but nothing bad. Yet."

"Can you contact Central? See if they know what happened?" You ask.

"Sure." She says. "Give me a bit."

"Well, good news on our side." Akira says. "Whatever that thing did, it hit the spooks in the Containment Field hard. Activity has dropped like a rock." He grins. "I feel SO bad for them."

Sato comes back in, dodging an arrow from Sachiko's temple.

"Lot of pissed people." Sato says. "For some reason they think this is our fault."

"Anything bad?" You ask.

Sato shakes his head. "Sachiko has a nosebleed and she's the absolute worse. For humans. The yokai just passed out and woke up with a MASSIVE hangover. Like I said, they are not happy, and they're blaming us."

"To be fair, this is something that we'd probably do...on accident." Akira says. "But honestly, what WAS that?"

Oh dear, while that is relieving it also means the Containment Field was breached by the PKE wave. That is really bad because that's exactly the type of thing it's built to stop.

It must have been an extraordinary blastwave.

Also poor ghosts, bet after all that time lulling about in whatever counts as a ghost version of peaceful fields must have been a real shock to the system.

Vigo has had previous dealings with Death itself, as well as vast sorcerous powers from countless sacrifices.

He hired death to serve as part of his vast army from hell before it was defeated by the undying russian soldier who captured him in his magic sack.

It should also be noted that Death can be persuaded, bribed, even co-erced (usually by the sack).

I have a feeling there isn't one distinct "Death" but several similar entities. In Japan we probably would have shinigami.

I forget but techincally aren't the JSDF under the ultimate jurisdiction of the UN since their conception after WW2?

In any case, I take it any human/youkai not magically bound by the PCOC/Kimono plotstrings can choose to do whatever they want, regardless of the Emperor's will (there may be repercussions though)

Mae herself is proof that the Emperor's will is not exactly mandatory, because she defied the Emperor and so have various other monsters in the past.

>>34958671
That would be up to the various GB sections in America to deal with.
>>
>>34958705
Of course, but this is Japan and we don't know how American paranormal shit effects armymen stationed in Japan.
>>
>>34958671
I'm not talking about their great powers, I mean the people who've got their feet on the ground. Mae is going to freeze the Japanese system, but anyone who isn't by her plan is free to act, including some 23 year old punk with a gun.
>>
>>34958705
Oh, and Orochi too being the head of the darned Yakuza and directly opposing the government of the Emperor.

Kinda like the Greeks. Sure they usually obeyed Zeus but occasionally even the gods tried to backstab him.

>>34958732
What you should more be wondering about is Bhudda's hold on these lands, with a distinct 30% of the population and not being under the will of the Emperor.

Also it would probably depend on their religion unless they've been sworn into some secret American paranormal entity, and that their effect on the PKE background would be so small it wouldn't matter anyway.

In numbers though, that's another story, and is why we should take care of our psykers in Pagan.

You go outside, Sachiko is standing there, her hair is still wet and slightly soapy. It makes her look like the typical long haired ghost girls you bust.

The rest of PAGAN and a few Sanctuary Yokai are standing there in a loose crowd outside the dumpling factory.

They look pissed...and Sachiko has her bow.

"Okay, first." You say. "This wasn't us. Seriously."

"You expect us to believe that?" One of the yokai asks. "Everyone knows you're always making new weapons, or traps, so what, you make a bomb and it blow up in your faces?"

"If we made a bomb and it blew up, wouldn't we have been blown up too?" You say. "Anyway, check your phones, or computers or whatever. They're saying that this 'sunspot' hit the whole pacific shoreline, both sides."

There's a little fiddling around as a few people call your 'bluff' and then concerned mumbling.

"Is this something we need to worry about?" A PAGAN asks, half-fearful half-hopeful. "Is it the first rumblings of forgotten Mu rising out of the water and spewing out the foul soldiers of a long forgotten race here to reclaim the earth in a orgy of blood and death so that their forgotten Gods can hear our howls of agony?"

Everyone turns to stare at the PAGAN for a while.

Then back at you.

"Well, it's probably not that." You say. "Nor is it a space-time rift that will require us to build giant robots."

A little laughter at that "Hmph, it's overrated." "HEY I liked it!"

"We'll keep you guys posted. Let us know immediately if you have any further effects. Okay? Okay." You say and head back inside.

"Bad news." Star says. "It WAS us."

(cont)
>>
>>34959249
"What?" You say.

"Well, it was the ones in California...well, right NOW they're in hawaii...but anyway, they caused it." Star says. "They blew up some tall glowing crystal radio-tower thing."

"A what?"

"Or maybe it was MADE of crystals...either way. It was evil and tied to their Carcossa case. It sent out a shockwave that apparently travels well over water." Star shrugs. "Central has them looking into it, but wants us to send them any data we can obtain."

"So...not the end of the world?" You ask.

"Nah. That was us STOPPING the end of the world...well not US us...but you get the idea." She shrugs. "Butterfly effect, Dai. We don't live in a bubble. We actually helped Chicago a huge amount too."

"When?" You ask.

"You know how they're fighting a Nightmare Ruler of a Realm of Mental Torment, right?" Star asks.

"Yeah." You say.

"Well, when we beat the Aspects, you know all those souls we released? Or at least what we THINK are souls?" Star says.

"Yeah." You say.

"Well, it's a couple hundred or even a few thousand Nightmares that are ended. That causes...well they used a lot of terms, but basically it causes the Nightmare World to weaken. By a noticeable amount, since it's such a rapid shift in such a large number."

"Huh." You say.

"One big happy, excessively destructive, family." You say.

Akira is frowning looking at the containment unit. "I just had an idea." He says.

"Yeah?" Sato asks.

"Well...we've got a rare opportunity here." He says. "From what I'm seeing, ghosts and Yokai that...for lack of a better word...that are 'evil' or rely heavily on Negatively-Charged PKE. They got hit REALLY hard. I mean, our Yokai and Yurei are back up, and the Vagabonds are still laid out, as I think the containment unit is still...yep..." He cheeks the machine. "They're still blasted."

"So?" Sato asks.

"So maybe we should pile into YOMI and do that raid on P-COC that we needed to do." He says.

"Mae and her flunkies will all be out of commission as they recover." Akira says with a big grin.

"Yeah, but there are human employees there as well." Star says. "Also, like, there's no telling how long this'll last. Plus, the moment we steal the papyrus, she's gonna know we know something."

"All the more reason to move now." Akira says.

"I've got another idea how we can use this." Star says. "We can free Kayako."

"What?" Akira says.

"Look, apparently we owe her. You said it yourself, the containment field has been knocked for a loop." Star shrugs. "We go in there, get her good side, and get out."

"Do you know HOW to get inside there?" Akira asks.

"It can be done. In theory." Sato says. "I can hook something up, maybe with a bit of Induced Astral Projection...you may want Yurei's help...it's possible...but you'll risk brain death. At least."

"See? Easy." Star says.

"I think we should try and recreate this." Sato says. "We've got a few tech still working, and the concept is sound. If we had this on our side during the conjunction...boom! We win."

"If we don't blow ourselves up. Plus, we'd be poking into that Carcossa stuff. Last thing we need is ANOTHER force of evil trying to wreck things over here." Star says. "Also, I'd hate to skip this chance."

"Same here." Akira says.

>>
>>34959828
Tampering with the Containment unit is a really bad idea.

Better still we transfer Kayako into an alternate smaller containment unit (such as the super slammer) and then work on that. At least then if we mess up, we only have Kayako's problems to deal with (and that is saying something).
>>

> Let's get that Papyrus. We're heading to P-COC, NOW.
If we get the Papyrus, we can use it to call then IJN, which means calling up the Yamato and the Musashi, as well as the kamikaze pilots.
At the least, we could re-mobilize the spirits of Yasukuni Shrine.

concur, head into the containment unit and help Kayako.
Maybe ince Sato is our only Tech guy we send The rest of the team one or two PAGAN and Sachiko to P-COC? Or all of PAGAN to distract the human P-COC workers?
>>
I just have an ugly feeling that Mae's status as a kyuubi would mean she counts as "holy" and would thus be unaffected, and even if that wasn't the case, it seems like it would provoke an immediate counter attack.

Helping Kayako seems like it would accomplish nothing but making us feel better, like last time.

And the bomb seems like risking cataclysmic failure for something too convenient to be allowed to work even if we did succeed.

These all seem bad.

She was probably what would be the equivalent of "excommunicated" by the original Emperor she tried to kill.

Granted, I expect that might have easily changed through maneuverings with our emperor and paperwork.

As for a counter attack, isn't that exactly up Ghostbuster territory?

"Let's go get that Papyrus." You say.

Akira grins and you all jump into YOMI-1 and speed away.

"Do we have any idea where it might be?" Star asks as you all get ready for the raid. "I mean, I hate to be this person, but what if she isn't keeping it there?"

"Mae's a narcissistic coward." You say. "She's not the type to let something that important out from where she can't keep watch over it."

"Kuzu-no-ha tell you that?" Akira asks.

"Yes. She did." You say.

"Hey, why don't we just ask her to tell her son to take Mae out again. Abe-no-Seimei IS her son...right?" Sato asks.

"I already asked Kaede." Star says. "She told me that Kuzu said that she would never give her three prized children any orders. She honors their independence too much."

"Three?" You ask.

"Abe-no-seimei, and two Six-Now-Three tailed Kitsune. They were daughters of hers who pursued their mother after she 'vanished' and they passed all her tests, they chose then to become kitsune." Star says. "Kaede says Kuzu showed her the family album."

"Can we ask them for help?" Sato asks.

"They globe trot as much as their mother, apparently. Same with Abe-no-seimei. If by some miracle we run into them we can ask them...but they're still Kitsune." Star says.

"We can always have Daisuke 'convince' them." Akira says. "Use his charm."

"Hey!" You say. Then sigh and let it go. "So, we shouldn't expect them to help unless we're lucky."

"Pretty much." Star says.

Akira stops YOMI-1 in front of the office building plaza that has the P-COC building.

You can see there are a few ambulances pulled outside.

"Well, that certainly is a sign." Sato says. "As the ancients say, the brush of crimson on the field is a tale of combat, joy, and sorrow...or something like that."

Well one problem.

The mural with the Kimono is gone.

"Damnit!" Sato says. "They moved it."

"Okay, focus." Star says. "Do we have any idea where the Papyrus could be?"

"People aren't allowed on the maintenance floor, or the top floor lounge." You say, remembering what you learned from last time. "Also, there's Yasuo and Mae's private offices."

"Heads up!" Sato says.

He points at the door. You can see a very upset looking Lady Une being escorted out by an EMT. She's pissed and talking into phone.

"No sir. No sir. Please sir. No sir. I don't KNOW what happened. Yes, sir! No sir...the integration employment policy, which I remind you was NOT my idea, has NOTHING to do with...yes Sir...but if you GAVE me more authority I could...THAT WAS NEVER PROVEN!" She hangs up.

You four charge up the stairs, you pass people who are evacuating the building, and see more people in EMT uniforms walking about.

The door is locked with a keycard reader.

But that doesn't matter because there's someone at the door who presumably can open it for you.

It's Yasuo, and he's got his head in a garbage can that's on the landing.

He looks up at the four of you.

"Ugh, did someone call you?" He asks.

You nod. "We heard of the trouble and thought that we should be down here."

He nods and then vomits again into the garbage pail. "Do you have any ideas? They just took Mae down. She just passed out. Half my staff is..." He vomits. "Ugh, did something attack us?"

"We're not sure."

> "Here, let me help you get to the EMTs." As you help Yasuo down you 'borrow' his keycard.

"Never mind." He says. "Hey..." He wipes his mouth and he looks at you. "I wanna ask you a question. It's about your scandal thing."

You roll your eyes. "That's old news." You say.

"Not what I meant." He says. "You...you didn't know that what you did would end up so bad. Four people jumping in front of trains, that husband that killed his wife and children then himself, that one guy who went nuts and killed his business partner, that double suicide, and the one who hung himself. All of those deaths, all for the right thing."

He looks at you, with red, bleary eyes.

"If you knew that your words would be the starting cause for those 12 graves, would you still say them? Forget everything else, forget about honor, or your status, or how things turned out. Those twelve lives, or just...letting things be?"

He's babbling and saying incomprehensible gibberish to himself, while he's talking to you. It's insultingly easy to get the keycard that's attached to his shirt pocket.

He mumbles a little to himself. "I...I need to understand...what it's like. At this level, the stuff you see. The choices you have to make. Is it so easy to let there be blood on your hands, if you're right?"

Yeah. It's hard, these choices. Honestly, I don't know what's going to happen, I just want to try and do the best I can. It was the choice of those people to take the easy way out.
The problem is choices like these can easily be twists and lead toward something worse, something pretending to be good but really isn't and in the end that's what you need to watch out for and it's very very hard to tell until you're in too late.

It's a map of Tokyo, and it doesn't have Yasuo's writing on it. It does in a few areas. However, most of it is a spiky scratchy writing that has a...feminine style to it.

This is Mae's battle map. She's written notes and markers all over it. Yasuo's added in his own marking, but his writing is weird. It's like he's writing with his left hand, instead of his right.

"Possession." Star says, looking at the writing. "Loss of motor functions, his adverse reaction to the PKE Wave, and his disorientation of thought. Damnit!" She thumps the table. "And we just handed him over."

"It would have been weird if we had slimed him then and there." You say.

SITE 1 is marked at the imperial palace.
There are notes. 1) NOTE WIND AND ALERT STRIKE TEAMS TO AVOID FIRE
2) TARGET 8 SHOULD WEAR DRESS TO BETTER PLEASE ASSET 1
3) EXPECT SEVERE MORTAL RESISTANCE, INVISIBLE/MINOR PRESENCE ONLY

SITE 2 is by the docks, specifically the ones that are reserved for commercial tours, cruise liners, and other large scale recreational boats. The notes are as follows 1) ASSET 3 WILL NOT HAVE IFF CAPABILITIES, CLEAR AREA
2) STRIKE TEAMS SHOULD ATTEMPT TO HERD LESSER TARGETS TO AREA.
3) UNIT 3 MUST BE IN CONSTANT RADIO CONTACT. I WANT TO KNOW WHERE IT IS AT ALL TIMES.
4) ANYONE WHO SINGS THAT DAMN THEME SONG WILL BE KILLED ON SIGHT

Can the RX 78-2 be transported on the back of a lorry? I've got a vague idea for the TOUCH! That is, having it crouch in the back of one, crash the lorry into the first opponent and having it leap off and copy Prime's actions, minus dying. All the while, The Touch blaring out.
>>
>>34966386
SITE 3 is at the Shibuya Scramble
The notes:
1) ASSET 16 PRIMARY SELECTION FOR HOST. READY ASSETS 20 AND 32 IF 16 RESISTS.
2) ONCE ASSET 4 HAS CONTROL, STRIKE TEAMS MUST SWITCH COMMUNICATION IMMEDIATELY. NO CELL PHONES. (That bit is underlined)
3) ASSET 4 WILL BE ABSORBED BY ASSET 1 ONCE ASSET 1 ARRIVES. UNIT 4 MUST BE READY TO DEAL WITH 4 OR HOST ONCE THAT OCCURS.
4) BRING CANDY

SITE 4 is...of course...at the Tokyo Tower.
1) T-M WILL BE AT ARRIVAL SITE TO PRESENT ASSET 1 WITH CONTRACT
2) ONCE ASSET 1 BEGINS PURGE, STRIKE TEAMS SHOULD BE MONITORING REFUGE SITES. MARK WHICH ONES FAIL.
3) PURGE ZONE, ONCE REACHING CRITICAL MORTALITY RATE, WILL THEN SPREAD IN EXPONENTIAL RATE. FINAL PROJECTED SIZE IS JAPAN...HOPEFULLY MORE.
4) BARRIER WILL BE ENACTED AFTER MAXIMUM PURGE FIELD IS REACHED.

The rest are marking over power stations, emergency facilities, homes of important people. They all have STRIKE TEAM PRIORITY listed by them with a 1-5 ranking.

The Dumpling Factory, Reject Zone, and Sachiko's Temple are all marked as targets. The last two are rated 3. 'Mid-priority, expect resistance.'

You guys are marked with a 1/5. 'IF TARGETS STAY AT LOCATION, DO NOT ASSAULT. IF TARGETS LEAVE, IMMEDIATELY ATTACK AND FREE CAPTIVES WITHIN.'

This whole thing is genius. It's an assault that will cripple Tokyo in less than 15 minutes. The death tolls will be astounding, and that's even BEFORE Oiwa shows up.

Yasuo has helpfully written up traffic flow patterns, evacuation advice, and has marked more than a few houses as Strike Team targets.

Star is taking pictures of the map.

"We're taking this with us?" You ask.

"Then they'll know. Roll it back up and put it back!" She says. "Holy crap."

"Yeah." You say.

"Hey guys!" You both look up and see Sato standing there. "You wanna come in here! I think we found it!"

You carefully roll the scroll back up and put it back with the others just where you found it.

>4) BARRIER WILL BE ENACTED AFTER MAXIMUM PURGE FIELD IS REACHED.

You know, with this and the rest we know of her plan...this is really starting to feel like she's trying to set up Reverse Gensokyo.

'Humans are killing and driving away supernatural beings. Clearly the correct options is to KILL 99% of humans to create a safe place for Youkai to live'

Kinda wish we had a list of what each Asset IS but still, we can guess some of them.

I am REALLY wondering what Asset 1 is. As it's someone they need to please at the imperial palace (Maybe emperor?)...but then at Site 3, it will absorb asset 4...which makes Emperor look less likely...but then it goes to a contract with Asset 1 at the Tokyo tower...and it's people of imperial blood that matter for that...and then it starts the purge?

Asset 1 is a key piece of this and I'm really, REALLY hoping it's not the emperor and is in fact something we can shoot with a gundam-sized proton pack.

As an aside: We need a Gundam-sized proton pack.

Mae's office is a mess. Wrappings on the floor, clothes hung on chairs, and a sense of this being more of a lair than a place of work. "For the record, we found it this way." Sato says.

"We also found this." Akira kicks something in Mae's desk that sounds metallic. You come around and see that it's a safe. It's a heavy duty one too. Polymer steel door, electronic lock, but no keypad. There is a fingerprint scanner though.

"We think the safe is controlled by the computer." Akira says.

"No, I know it is." Sato says. "I've seen this model before. You open it with your phone or computer, or fingerprint."

"Where did you see it?" You ask Sato.

"Shibuya. They had a big contest where if you could break the model that they were showing open you could keep what was inside." Sato says.

"And you tried?" Star says. "What am I saying, did you at least not try to headbutt it open?"

"...look do you want to try and see if we can figure out Mae's password or not?" Sato says.

>>
>>34968351
Would they even really want a comeback? Especially after being out of the game so long and such fierce competition.

I'm sure they haven't forgotten what happened with Moses anytime soon. And then the Roman dieties later.

It feels like either the gods were very powerful even before humanity discovered and started to worship them, or that once they've soaked up enough worship power and embeded themselves into history and human psyche that their realms would remain secure forever, even if their worshipers were gone.
>>
>>34968402
Some gods like Gozer and the Sumerians are lucky enough to have worshipers from beyond the grave and even help their ascension to godhood such as Shador and his cult.

It's probably a case of Chicken and the Egg.

There are forgotten gods and elder beings out there whose true names man has never known, gods worshiped by other entities in other planets or even other dimensions.

There are also those beings who are possibly creations of mankind, such as the Ghosts of Christmas, or definitively human-like deities such as Thor.

Well...you aren't sure, but you could almost SWEAR you heard someone chuckle in your group as you all ran down the stairs.

It was female.

It wasn't Star. It wasn't Ishtar. It wasn't Mae. It wasn't Kuzu. It wasn't any woman you've heard of...you've never been more certain of that than anything.

But you KNOW that voice.

Or...you know...you're going nuts. Which is also possible, not like it'd be a short trip from here.

Anyway, your escape is simplicity itself. People are still being treated thanks to the Carcossa Blast. You just walk right out, back to YOMI-1. No problems.

"Today went...astoundingly well." You say.

"Yeah. I was figuring it'd be all mission impossible and lots of guards or fast talking." Sato says. "As the Ancients say 'One should never spit on winning cards, but watch the dealer at the same time...or something like that."

Of course, things...aren't as peaceful when you get back home.

Kaede and Kali run up to you as you park in the Factory, very concerned.

"Thank God!" Kali says. "You need to fix this!"

"Fix what?" You ask.

Kali points. You see Sachiko, lying on the couch. An assortment of tech attached to her head. She's clutching the Chyme.

"Sachiko said," Kaede says. "That if YOU weren't going to save Kayako's soul, then she'd do it. She ranting about how it was her job and on and on."

"How'd she get all this hooked up?!" Sato asks.

"I think Yurei helped her. She must be in there too!" Kaede says.

"Oh man..." Akira says. "The blast has worn off in there. The place is CRAZY active."

"Stupid headstrong stubborn single-minded IDIOT!" Star says. "We can't just rip the stuff off, can we?"

"No." Sato says. "Right now...Sachiko and Yurei are trapped within the Containment Unit."

Well shitfuck.

Also... I wonder if that was Oiwa chuckling?
>>
>>34968974
That is actually a good point.

Though next thread could stand to be "boring" as well.

>>34968977
Yes, but may you live in interesting times is a curse.
>>
>>34968977
Well, it can't get better then the fact that we're basically ninjaing into the building, got a huge map of everything Mae will be doing, we know to stop all cell phone service in the zone, we know how to defeat the Harbour monster along with using a 'Certain Song'....and Mae will free the pardoned Oiwa.

There's so much potential for things to go wrong, but...
>>
>>34968974
Even for Sachiko, this seems a tad overboard. My memory's a bit fuzzy, but I don't remember her being too involved in the Kayako case, besides pointing us to that shrine.
>>
>>34968974
Thanks for running ghostmaster, you run the only thing I'd actually care to stay a full 12 hours up for.
>>
>>34969098
There were other factors involved. You'll find them out soon, but they mostly have to do with Sachiko having made a connection with Kayako's mother.

Kayako's mother is...slightly better than Daisuke's but has about as much charm.
>>
>>34968974
We'll try have more entertaining rolls next time? Then again, no.

I knew we should've went and Kung Pow stomach punched the evil part from Kayako.

>>34969098
Maybe they're related by blood somehow, connected by some common miko lineage. There's also that loose end with Kayako's mother in that homeless encampment.
>>
One of these days, I'd love to see Kali use her super speed to pull off the ultimate technique:

>Catches index finger
Foe: "The Wuxi fingerhold!?"
Kali: "Oh, you know this hold? Hehehehe...."
>>
sounds like we're gonna have to go in.
