After out untimely death in a plane crash, we rolled a critical success to be reincarnated to a whole new life in a whole new world!

A world with magic, swords and cute busty elf maids!

After being reborns with out memories of our last life intact, we toasted a mosquito with our very first fireball. We were on the road to magical power and we loved it!

Our dad and mom turned out to be retired adventurers, living a comfy life in the countryside, when war was declared between our nation and a vast southern empire.

After our dad returned to the army, our mom took us, together with Elli, our family's elf maid, away from the frontlines to magic city Albion, where she took a position as a teacher and lecturer at the magic university.

We started a soap making business with our knowledge in chemicals, and bought ourself a cute slavegirl to sleep cuddled up with.

We are 8yrs old. She is 12, it really is literally just cuddling up to sleep!

It has been a nice few weeks since Lyann joined our family. As the end of the school year approaches, we have to start thinking about our next year of classes.

We met and began talking with Okaba, 4th prince of the southern kingdom of Hêven, and Aura, his janissary bodyguard. After showing him our brand new invention, which we fondly call "chess", the prince was motivated enough to help us start our very own chess club, albeit he says we still need 2 more people and a teacher to vouch for us.

Aura, is of the opinion that the knights should have wings to account for their ability to jump over other pieces, but her opinion may be colored by the fact that as a winged humanoid, that's how she would do it.

As lunch time ends and we go back to classes, we agree to meet with Okaba and Aura after classes to go look around for some more club members. and so, we meet in the halls as the sun begins its slow descent towards the horizon.

"So, where would you like to go?" -asks the prince

I think it really shows that Grummir, the dwarf, was drawn first, then young Eldric, and Aura and Okaba are the latest, right?

I have a more "sensual and grown up" pic for Lyann, but I think that one is good for a 11 yrs old dancer.

"Let's check the library first. It's probably the best place to find someone else." -you suggest casually
"Alright, but it is a nice evening. We may get some people interested if we had a game in the garden." ~Okaba takes Aura's hand and walks with you~ "How old are you, by the way?"
"Almost nine."

"None taken. I think you are just too tall."

"Interesting."

Did you like the Elli one?
***

You introduce yourself politely and explain to him that you have a new, strategy based game depicting a battle between matched forces, all the while placing the board and the pieces in front of him.

"It seems interesting, but I do not know if I could join your club. Right now I am already part of the Dungeon Delving club, and that's quite exciting already. Oh, my name is Tazar, by the way. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Tazar is a third year student. He is part of a club interested in exploring the dungeon under the college. It sounds like he is checking old records of previous expeditions since he is already in a deeper floor than any of his party members have reached before.

As it turns out, he's not a soldier, but a fellow student.

it seems odd to me that a noble would have a starting class of 'thief'. As an authority of the land that makes the rules, they wouldn't be trained as outright criminals. perhaps rename it 'treasure hunter',or 'rogue'.

I also see the difference in lvl needed between hybrid and 2nd tier pure classes. for regular adventurers there's not much difference since they can only have 1 job at a time. are they meant to be equivalent in stat gains and abilities?

For the main character, it's easier to train multiple jobs so we reach the hybrid classes sooner.

instead of having multiple tiers of pure classes, i'd rather have just one class. So a lvl20 wizard would gain an 'arcanist' class ability while still being a wizard. a lvl 40 wizard would gain an 'archmage' class ability. because if they've put in the time to get to high levels, then of course they'll be really good at what they do. It would also cut down on some of the class bloat you have.

Under the current system you could have a lvl90 wiz/ lvl50arcanist/lvl 1 archmage and a lvl 20wiz/lvl 20 arcanist/ lvl 5 archmage. It doesn't have that same sense of progression as lvl21wizard(arcanist) and lvl56wizard(archmage).
>>
>>34953467
>* Inquire about his club
The chess sets are just a money making scheme like the soap and we already have lyann.

So it's no great loss if we don't form a club and just have private games with the 4th prince every so often.

Well, we already have the knight to represent the typical feudal lord type of noble. The healer and the wizard are obvious. The singer is more of a luxury job and thats why it is a nobles only job, much like only the nomads and the slaves have dancers.

As for thief... well, we need evil abusive nobles squeezing the peasants dry too, right? but year Ill think about something.

not sure what you meant about the equivalent bit. Pure classes need 20 levels, the hybrids require 10 and 10 so it comes out about the same.

I like your idea. So absorb the pure classes into the base class and just add abilities that are unlocked with levels? I think some jobs dont have a "pure" route, tho

However, the base classes gain a LOT more attributes per level than 2n and 3rd jobs. I wanted to have the players deciding between gaining 15 attribute points per level with basic abilities, or just 10 with powerful abilities.

>>34953741
>Noice, how long till we reach puberty?

I wonder? I mean, you have a grownup's mind pushing the body, so I imagine a bit earlier than usual? or perhaps you cant rush chemistry

I also made some less-clothed versions of Lyann (because I can), mostly to mess around with adding whatever clothes I wanted. The nude one is the base. I can easily add whatever to it

"Are you selling these, by the way? I think I saw one of the teachers carrying one. Oh, and you should probably write the rules down and include them with each set." Tazar says helpfully

"Thanks. I will try to do so. Uhmm... beyond the obvious, what does the Dungeon club does?"

"Well, we help the 2nd years when they go into the dungeon for the first time. We also double up as guides when outsiders want to try their luck in the dungeon."

"Could we go in?"

"Normally, you'd have to wait until you are a 2nd year, but if it is with a guide, yes, you could."

"Thanks for telling me. Maybe I will try it soon." ~you say much to Lyann's delight

Now that you have Tazar's signature, you just need another student. Out of the remaining ones...

You approach and introduce yourselves to the dwarves. They are Duran, Dilan and Honoria. On a closer look, Honoria has a very pretty face, she just has her hair braided and pulled in front of her so it looks similar to a beard from afar.

You speak with them for a while, and they seem immediately interested. Honoria wants to know about your future plans to make stone sets, while the boys(?) want to know if they would get a free set if they join.

It looks like they werent hard to convince at all. In fact, they are also first years, albeit not on your class. As for their personal histories, Honoria is a princess frrom the Stonewall clans. Duran and Dilan come from other clans, but naturally banded together when they spotted eachother on the campus

You agree to meet tomorrow evening in the gardens with Aura, Duran, Dilan, Honoria, Okaba and Tazer, and go look for mom in the teacher's lounge.

The teachers already know you so they aren't bothered when you go in looking for your mom. After all, to the, you are a 8yrs old child.
You find her talking with one of the teachers, but you dont know him.

He doesn't teach any of the classes you go to, after all.

He better not be hitting on your beautiful mom.

Clinging to her legs, you greet your mom and stare a little at the man.

Tall, with a goatee. If this was a Disney movie, you are quite sure this guy would be a bad guy.

Your mom excuses herself with her colleague, and leaves home for the day with Lyann and you.

"Mom, I want to start a chess club, could you be our supervisor teacher?" ~ you ask her while holding her right hand, and Lyann's left hand as the three of you walk home from the university.

"I suppose, but you will need to come up with a way to explain its purpose in terms of personal development, not just "because it's fun", you know? It needs to be an student activity, not a play club."

"I see... well, we are using magic to make the sets... maybe we could try enchanting the sets?" or just learn about how different materials react to being shaped?"

"I'm happy that you made friends and want to start a club with them, but it cant just be a playroom, Eldric. You need to seriously start a proper club."

Your mom is a lot more strict with you than a random teacher would have been.

Trying to dupe mom is honestly a bad idea, so you go for the qualities that you know are true about chess in your sales speech, as well as assuring her that you will try and mix magic into the making of the new sets.

You convince her, but she says she will want monthly club reports both on your activities and magical progress.

"And you can't let your grades go down, understood?"

You nod, and soon arrive home.

Elli greets your group at the door, and takes your mom's coat as she comes in.

"Dinner is ready, ma'am. Young master" ~she seems to hesitate for a moment... "Miss" ~she adds at the end, referring to Lyann

"Thankyou Elli. Can you give the boys a bath after dinner? I brought some books from school I want to go over with them later, so I¿ll be preparing in the living room."

"Yes ma'am"

All four of you eat together, then Elli takes you and Lyann to the bath. She pours hot water into the tub.

Apparently, storing hot water into her item box lets her recover hot water hours later. That is quite the convenient thing.

"Elli, I can bath myself" ~says Lyann, but Elli doesn't really care and just continues taking her clothes off before ushering her into the hot tub with you.

She rubs you both clean with care and love as she asks you about your day.

"Oh... I suppose you are right. There you go..." ~she pours warm water on your and washes the soap off, then picks you up and sings her pretty face against your neck~ "Ah, the young master smells so pretty." ~she says perfectly innocently, then picks you up from the tub and dries you off.

After dressing you up, she repeats the process with Lyann, the redhead blushing a little as Elli dries and dresses her up in front of you before sending the both of you to the living room.

Your mother has you both sit with her on the couch. She has two big books resting on the small center table.

One you are properly cuddled up against her, she starts your evening classes.

putting however many years of training into a class justifies getting a more powerful ability once you reach a milestone.

But you could easily decrease the gains by saying once you reach a certain point improvements become more difficult.

And hybrid classes still keep an appeal because they allow a wider skillset than regular adventurers ever have access to. For the 'scion' it doesn't make a difference, but for npcs they'd be choosing between sticking with a narrow set of skills with the promise of powerful abilities later or the ability to have more skills than they would usually have with only 1 job slot.

Scion class was always meant to be an exceptional person, right? with it's meta ability, you won't be able to balance it with the npcs who only have 1 job.

when we get up to healer lvl 10, we should switch to paladin. retaining access to the armor and mount of a knight, the divine magic of a healer, and gaining that damage resistance.

We should keep going pure wizard though. The benefit of thaumaturge is the divine magic and we have that throught healer, and later on, paladin.

So wiz/pal/noble/scion. This has us only splitting our xp 3 ways while keeping most of our abilities.

Grummir uses the Keystone to open a portal into the entrance of the 12th floor. This is the last floor your group has the map to. After this one, it's all unknown territory.

"Which myansters roam this floor, nya?"

It looks pretty much like you imagined it to, with a large red flower on top shaped like a cannon. Its roots make it advance like an octopus on land.

As soon as Grummir charges the closest one, they spit at him!

(0) .: [1d100] => [44] = (44) hit. 14 damage
(0) .: [1d100] => [41] = (41) hit. 14 damage
(0) .: [1d100] => [46] = (46) hit. 14 damage

The plants spit bright, large red seed pods that explode against your dwarven friend's shield and cover him in flaming oil. Thankfully, the oil burns itself off quickly, but now it smells like burning dwarf

(0) .: [1d100] => [57] = (57) Grummir rams one of the Fire Seeds and pushes it away from the others.

I realized I wasnt using the spell formula I wrote myself to calculate the proper damage for the fireballs. That is why their damage dropped so drastically today.

AoE spells are meant to do less damage, but hit more targets for more overall damage, while single target spells are meant to hit much harder

That being said, the Fireball option is meant to do 90 damage, not 50

You form two stone arrows and launch them at the plants while Miiyau's bear charges between them to help Grummir.

Your fwarf friend is being pelleted by explosive seeds, but he's keeping the monsters interested. It doesn't looks like the plants are too smart.

Your attacks land on the targets with no problems.

yes, To be honest, the staff mom got us cuts mana costs by 1/2. Its a beginners staff meant to let us spam spells like mad in order to increase our mp reserves, so paying double would just make us pay "normal cost"

***
The plants spit fire seeds at the dwarf, causing him to smoke sligthly as he fails ro resist their pseudo spells. (90 damage total)

Miiyau's bear growls and swipes at the plant Grummir is fighting, stunning it!

The plants fail to resist your stone arrows, taking full damage from each!

Miiyau's slingshot fails to do any harm

As the batlecontinues, it looks clear that Grummir is taking a LOT of damage really quickly. You need a way to curb the plants explosions or shield Grummir

You blast two of the plants again, this time with water arrows.
It is hard to force the water to remain in any one shape for any lenght of time, but you manage to "braid" together some water currents to trick it into it!
One of the fire seeds falls dead. The other is badly injured.
Grummir takes a exploding seed to the face, and hits the plant in front of it together with the bears.
The two remaining plants look badly injured.

Just remember Miiyau and Grummir arent used to humans and they think we are some small race adult, so we cant play the cute card if she gets mad at us for touching the fluffy tail

You take down the remaining two Fire Seeders.
This time, instead of random loot, a treasure chest appears.

"That's such a shame, nya!" -she says while healing Grummir

"What, why?" you ask her, gently tugging on her fluffy tail

"Nya! d-don't touch a lady's fluffy tail without warning, nya!"

"Ah, treasure chests mean that a previous party got killed in the room. The dungeon absorbs the bodies but can't do the same with the equipment so it spits it out like that."

"Oh"

"Let's give them a prayer of thanks, nya!"

Once that is done, you loot the chest, of course

As it turns out, looking through the ring to the items in the chest, there is...

* Earrings of Celerity. These earrings let you do +1 physical attack per turn
* Steel Gladiator Gloves and boots (1 slot): +10 Armor to the arms and +5 to the legs. This doubles as a piece of armor and as a shield that cannot be disarmed. You cant use this with any other armor. It counts as light armor

You decide to call it a day and dedicate yourself to learning to control water magic better before returning in two days.

Grummir supports that idea, and uses the keystone to pull everyone out.

"We'll put these in auction at the guild, nya!

"See you in two days, Eldric"

You say your farewells and agree to see them the day after tomorrow, then head home somewhat earlier than usual.

Elli is right in the middle of cleaning when you come back. She's wearing a long white summer dress with a pretty pink apron on top.

"Young master? it's early, are you alright?"

"Yes, I'm fine now, thank you Elli." it is such a nice sight, a busty elf maid in an apron.

You can feel the fatigue leaving your body.

"Do you want a bath, or do you want to eat? can I help you with something else?"

Of course, there's no way she won't guess its earrings as soon as you start fiddling with her ears, but... sadly she doesn't has them pierced.

"Don't move! I'll be right back! don't move!"
"Alright" -she smiles looking at you as you gesture from the door and then run off

Asking her from Elli, she says she can pierce Lyann's ears. Her tribe had a tradition involving jewelry after victories or childbirths, so she is quite good at it.

With Elli in tow, you come back to Lyann, who is not sitting crosslegged on the carpet.

"A proper lady shouldn't sit that way, miss!"
"Sorry" she sits over her heels, knees together

A few minutes later, Lyann is wearing a brand new set of earrings. The tiny red gems match her hair nicely.

"How are you going to explain them to the mistress, by the way?"
"I make money, I can afford giving my sister a gift if I want to."
"Uhmm"

Mirrors are quite expensive, so Lyann has to settle for your words that the earrings look nice on her.

Your baby sister starts crying, so Elli hurries down to feed her.

Afterwards, you cast a small healing spell on her, and go out to practice your magic while she dances.

The day goes by nicely. The earrings dangle from a thin little chain, bouncing and sparkling as your sister/slavegirl dances for you.

Later that day, your mom compliments Lyann's earrings when she arrives.

During dinner, you bring up the theme of their points...

"Honestly, I think I would like to think about it a little more. My first impulse would be to place them all into intelligence, but I really want to study this in more detail." -your mom says with a thoughtful look

"It's not as if anyone is expendable. We can't just experiment with them to see what happens." -she adds after a few moments.

"Alright. That will be tonight's bedtime story then." ~ says mom while holding Athena in her arms. Your baby sister is having fun feeling your mom's face with little baby slaps

That night, mom tucks you and Lyann neatly under a cuddly warm blanket, and pulls a chair over.

She tells you about how you are very, very old nobility. So old, in fact, that most historians agree that their keep was there long before the city came to be around it, Far, far longer than that, having already survived a long-lost kingdom.

"But the spires and walls look new and glow white every day of the year, wether it is rain or sun out."

As she explains it, at one point or another, your family funded all three major knightly orders in the north. It is traditional to have young knights contribute to the walls with a white stone upon joining any of the orders.

Even the orders who came later follow this tradition, albeit most say it is just a way to claim legitimacy.

"..and thus the walls and towers have kept growing and growing. Every year, a hundred new knights add a hundred new stones to it, and this has been so for longer than anyone can remember."

She pauses for a bit, as if remembering something

"Your dad said he would travel and add one for you on the day you turned 15, come thing about it."

"Dad liked it there, then?"

"Oh, yes, he was very proud of the keep's history and symbolism. Not so proud of what it has become nowadays.however."

>>
>>34958109
"Why?"

"Well, the city is built in rings around the keep. The families that live in the inner rings claim seniority and call themselves noble. They use as a status symbol, as if they were better by proximity."

"That is not the building's fault. That's just people being dummies"

"Well, your grandfather decided to open the keep to the public, you know? emptied the first two floors and moved the family to the third and higher, so the people could walk through the gardens and the hallways."

"That's nice."

"Eldric, do you have an idea of the kind of wealth a family with over a hundre generation of adventurers and lords, has? It only made things worse. In tthe end, your grandfather moved the family to the outskirts and just rents the keep to the government. It is not the seat of city hall, tribunals and ... prison."

"I see"

"Well, your grandfather was happy to wash his hands off from it."

"So we just have a house on the outskirts?"

"Yes, does it bother you?"

"No. Where is grandpa?"

"Well son, if tradition holds, during times of war, the head of your family is appointed as "grand marshall" and leads the city's armies, so, I suposse he must be on the frontlines somewhere... don't worry. He's a very stubborn old man."

"Mom, why didin't you and dad stay with grandpa?"

"He couldn't take the "nobles" looking down on us... me. A peasant girl and her boy. It really pissed off your grandfather, too"

"Is he nice?"

"Yes, he's very nice. Just a little old, and really, really stubborn. Last time I saw him, he was arguing with your dad about "running from the nobles"."

"That's when we moved to the countryside? ..wait, you and dad moved because of me, didin't you?"

"We moved because we wanted to raise a wonderful child. I think we did the right thing. I love you, son. Good night."

"Good night, mom."

To lord Baldric Lightbriner.
Commonwealth's Southern campsite

Lord Baldric, up until this morning, I had never heard your name before. My name is Eldric, the son of Cedric and Linda Lightbringer.

How are you? my mother described you as a strong-willed but good man, and said you would probably be at the battlefront in the south.

As such, I do not know if this letter will reach you. There is always a chance it will be intercepted, and so I will not wait for an answer,

Ellizabeth, our maid, has told me that the nomad tribes are the most reliable way to send a letter, and she will ask them to pass this one around as many times as needed until it reaches your hands.

I write to you now hoping that you can inform my father that mother and I have moved to the city of Albion, where she has taken a job at the local university as a lecturer.

Could you please tell him to direct his letters there?

Thankyou

Alright, it sounds like most people want to get a gift for mom and Elli, and someone mentioned playing with Athena. Want to go shopping with Athena and Lyann, then? There is a baby chariot in your mom's room

As for enchanting, you can probably find a book about it at the university. Want to go check on the way back?

What's hilarious is that you'd turn it down out of hand.

When we've been friendly to every person we could get to listen to us talk.

Not like this hypothetical girl might be a worthwhile person or that a noble family couldn't offer signifigant support on a quest or that we might gramps might have our welfare in mind instead of being a politicking bastard.

Lyann insists on being in charge of Athena's chariot. You are really smart and all, but you are still on the short side, and she wants to save you the disgrace of having trouble steering it.

Plus, she feels a little more like a maid than a sister.

You have little problems while you are in the residential area, but three young children akine in the shopping district are a target, and you can sense that you are being watched.

Confident that you can handle whatever street rat thinks you an easy target, you go into a jewelry and get a pretty set of rings for Elli.

After thinking it for a moment, it is better to not insert anything hard into the soft pointy ears.

Let's keep them soft and caresseable. Yes, that is better.

You think about getting a mirror for mom, but you plan on making them yourself with metal after a bit, so it feels like a waste.

In the end,you get mom a bejeweled page marker for her books.

On the way back, you decide to get some flower seeds for the garden, so you stop at a flower shop

Nothing wrong with the garden as it is. But it's just grass right now

On your way back, you spot two guys following you

***

You guide Lyann into an alley, and protect her and Athena behind walls of stone as you wait for the men.

As they walk in, they notice that you are alone and that theres a very solid wall behind you.

"Hey, kid, you bought some pretty pricey things, uh?"
"Next you will say, hand them over like a stereotypical villain."
"Hand them o-what?"
"I always wanted to do that. One of these days, I'll pose"

"Oh God, if this was a book, I'd throw it out the window for having such clichéd dialogue. Look, I already sent my friend away with everything that was worth anything, and even if I hadn't, there's no wayt you two would be enough to rob us."

You cast afireball at each of them.
Being so close, they cant help but be caught in eachother's blasts.
Fortunately? noone died

They run out with their hair in flames and jump into an open sewer.
You lower the stone walls and let Lyann and Athena out.

"Eldric, are you alright?!"
"Yes, yes. I'm alright."

You come out of the alley and resume your way to the university.
As you hoped, you have no problem finding a book on enchantment,,, writen by an Okaba Kubwa.

You stare at the book
It feels as if the book was staring back at you

With a sigh, you ask for permission to take the book home with you. It is three gold coins that you will get back when you return the book, undamaged.
You are free to peruse the book inside the library, but it costs gold to borrow it.

You make yuor way back home, and find that Elli was frantic, not knowing where you, Lyann or Athena were.

Elli gives you a long speech about leaving notes or telling in advance if you are going out.

She looks rather cute when she's angry, but you better not tell her that right now
You also shouldnt tell her about someone trying to mug you

That night, you give Elli and mom their gifts, then read for a little before taking your bath.

As it turns out, Okaba has spent decades researching enchanting in the ways traditional to his people.

Thanks to donating a copy of his research notes to the university, he was easily accepted as a special student, which gives him permission to use the laboratories.

He is in Albion to study the magical traditions of the "Far North".

About the research he's mentioned in the book.

It seems fairly obvious after a while that he's been researching on [Cursed Items] and ways to manipulate the cheap and potent energies of cursed objects.

As his notes explain, cursed objects are much, much cheaper to make than normal magical items.

Placing a flaw in an item allows the item maker to make such items for almost nothing.

This is how enchanted slave collars are "relatively cheap". They tend to possess traits that are obiously negative for the wearer, but at the same time, it is easy to give them positive traits.

for example, you can enchant a slave collar to stop the wearer's aging, which would make any item into a major and very, very expensive item otherwise.

Preventing sickness.

Immunity to poison.

There are many ways in which a slave collar can be enhanced.

However, the basic fact that it is a [Cursed Item] will not change.

Normally, a slave with such a collar will die if the master dies.

He does mention that, as long as a craftsman is willing to assign another flaw into the collar, the "basic curse" of dying with the slave's master, can be played around with quite a bit.

For the time being, you place the book away in your book bag, and go have your bath.

You play with Elli's pointy ears during bath timr until she forgives you.

She may have just given up.

It's hard for her to stay mad with you.

Later, you sit to read in bed while Lyann hugs your waist and sleeps pressing her pretty face against it.

It is obvious now that Okaba has messed around quite a bit with Aura's collar.

He managed to change the [Basic Curse] of the collar into a number of minor ones.

Aura cannot lie to him
She cannot go against a direct order if her master specifies that she can't.
She cannot bear children

In exchange
She does not age. This also stopped her menstrual cycle
She is immune to most sickness and poisons

From his personal footnotes, you can roughly rebuild their history together.

She was given to him at an early age as a reward for valour in combat. It is "traditional" for the nobility on his country to own a succubi slave. And they are used in the traditional way.

But Okaba raised Aura from a tender age, and instead made her into his bodyguard. It's hard to understand how he feels about her from his footnotes, but that's fine.

It is personal

Yes, it is definitively a personal matter. You do not need to know

Still, his notes are quite complete. You are certain that you could manipulate a [Basic Curse] by following the instructions on the journal.

It is not that different from a computer progra,.

Except that the "program" is written as a magic circle which is then absorbed by the item in question.

suspicious of what..We have money, that we made. It's not her money, and she shouldn't have an issue with it.
We should reinvest some cash into the soaps again.
And I highly recommend we start gearing up.
>>
To those voting for the candle. I'd like to point out that if things go wrong we could end up burning our house down.
>>
>>34960569
She knows we have money. However, if we drop 50 gold or more on an item, she might find that a bit odd and crunch the numbers of our soap business or something. Finding that we should not have that much gold lying around, she will probably investigate/interrogate Ellie. When she figures out we've been dundgeonering, she will be very pissed.

So, as long as we aren't stupid about it, we'll be fine. A new staff won't be a problem at all, as long as it isn't made of dragon bone or something.
>>
>>34960611
we could flood the house with the pitcher

Water jug +1+1

You decide to give it a try, and look through Okaba's notes again.

A few bits here and there are hard to read. The prince has good handwriting, but the paper quality in this world is pretty low, and it soaks up ink unevenly at parts

You think about giving it a curse, but can't think of anything you could twist to your convenience about a candle

You simply draw a magic circle to tell the candle it should glow, over and over.

You follow the instructions, and carefully draw the magic circle on the floor, using your school materials.

You place the candle on the middle of the circle, and pour mana into it.

The ink on the floor is "sucked" into the candle and climbs up over its lenght, then disapears.

It was really fast, it felt and looked as if the ink had been sucked in. Like a sheet that had been pulled in through a hole in the middle of a table.

The candle is glowing. It isin't hot. It's just glowing.

A fair bit brighter than most candles.

Waterwall and water arrows. If we leave them here they'll hit us from behind in the boss room.

You agree with the cat.eared beastgirl and rise a solid stone wall to trap the plants in place before they can see you, then your group makes it through in a rush.

"Alright, this guy's basically an hydra type"
"Isin't it a plant, nya?"
"Well, yes, but, you know... it has many heads and they grow back if you cut them, so I'm going to say hydra. Yes"
"So... should we burn the necks?"
"No, no. I'll draw fire and you guys just attack the body. But for the love of beards, be quick about it, alright? fireshielf or not, I have no interest in letting it hit me forever,"
"Thats fine, nya! if you nyaed it, you can run and let the bears take it while I heal you, nya!"
"I like that plan and am excited to be a non-burning part of it. Eldric, you ready?"
"Sure"

The boss is a massive mass of vines and thorns, with six "heads" made from those cannon-looking flowers.

Grummir charges ahead and smacks it, albeit he looks like a mouse taking on a dog.

The plant starts spitting fire at him.

Even when he fails to resist most of the Spells, his shield helps him with the damage.

Miiyau summons a bear and has it attack the plant. It lands a solid blow with ease (the thing is huge) but its not clear if it did much damage.

Its a pdf, not a pic

Grummir is suddenly showered with Firebullets.
He takes 10 damage.
The shield really helps him (and he got lucky and resisted all the spells)
Your stone arrow hits the plant on the back. It doesnt seems to do much, but perhaps the monster is just too hp fat

"It's really tough, nya!"
"That's alright, just keep hitting it!"

You do manage to slowly whiter it down, however, but then you notice a massive magic circle appearing under the monster. It is preparing to use a skill

* Use your swords anti-magic ability. It will make it impossible to spellchant in the area
* Keep hitting it as you were

seems like its a big boss.
sounds kind of stationary too. Can we cast fire wall under the monster while we go in for the attack?
>>

>* Keep hitting it as you were
S ave the anti-magic ability for later.
>>
>>34962568
You could invent a new spell out of neccesity if you want, but the first time you use it will cost double.

Let me think... you can hybridize water and fire and water and earth... neither of those is very useful at the time...

You could use a stronger stone or water spell for 16 mana to do 53 da,age, or 32 mana to do 96 damage
>>
>>34962553
>>34962629
this.
cast firewall under it, then charge it with sword.
if ther isn't enough time just anti-magic that hydra!
>>
>>34962652
No it fire element.
>>
>>34962646
the 16 and 32 is only because it's the first time correct?
>>
>>34962629
>cast fire wall under the monster
Sure

By the way, its magical silence, not anti magic so the summons wont dissapear.

As you use your sword to cancel its spellcasting, the magic circle dissapears.
Miiyau starts throwing rocks at it with her sling

You deal a very strong blow to the monster, and it switches target to you!

You take 40+40+40+40+40 damage... 200
Your resist roll works...so its 1/2 damage
100
You have an armor with a zenite card so 20% less damage 80
They are AoE so your knight lets you take 1/2 damage from each 40
You take 40 damage

"Eldric, what are you doing!?"
The plant's fiery blasts explode all around you, toasting your clothes and charring the ground.

Thankfully, it doesn't hurts as much as you feared

we have 2 retreats and 2 keep going. Since we cant use magic while the sword is on. Are you sure you want to retreat? the silence globe will follow us, and if we retreat too much we will go back into the other room where the plants are.
>>
The dwarf is the tank. Not us.
>>
>>34963046
Keep going. I say its time to go FMA and spike him with stone from beneath. Can we deactivate the anti-magic?
>>
>>34962892
We don't need to use a Job in order to level it, just have it turned on. Learn the system and read the previous threads.
>>

we will have the druid healing. on back up.

BUT activate ignite!
>>
>>34963083
Turning off the anti-spell field means it can start up its spell again, and we won't be able to stop it this time. Use your fucking head before suggesting shit that will get us more aggro and take threat away from the tank.
And a stone spike isn't going to one-shot it, just get it mad and keep attacking us instead of the tank.
>>
>>34963083
nah we can just dish out some major damege by igniting the sword.
Having the Silence on prevents the hydra from casting. doesn't stop our druid from healing us so long as she is fast enough.
and it "Allies who can see Ljósbera in
flames receive a large bonus to magical and physical damage"
>>
>>34963083
just igniting and attacking would be the best thing to do.
The more damage we do, the more HP we get back.
>>
>>34963161
>>34963248
Guys, it's a fire-based monster, thus fire isn't going to do shit to it.
>>
>>34963083
yes but then you cant turn it back on until sunrise

Well, it looks like we STILL have a tie with 3 vs 3 so im going to toss a coin... and it says we stay.

You stay close to the plant and hack away at it.

The next round, it again spits its fire seeds all over you...
44 damage

You swing the burning blade at the base of the monster. You can tell you are doing good damage to it

Grummir goes all "fuck it" and switches from his hammer to his axe and starts just doing as much damage as he can as he swings it with both hands, letting the shield drop to the floor!

You take 60 damage
You take 40 damage...

The fire on your sword is not doing any damage, but the moral boost does, and a bear eventually finishes the plant off.

It vanishes and leaves a treasure chest in its place

***
Guys im starting to see yellow clouds and whatever damage I do to my eyes will not heal, so im stopping here for today. I guess it was really too long a run for my eyes. Kind of sad

I'll see you tomorrow and then we can talk about what was in the treasure chest, ok? can someone archive the thread please? Im gonna go lie down and rest my eyes for a bit and it may dissapear before I get up
>>
>>34963046
Retreat defensively so the hydra stays in our silence sphere and Grimmur can get threat back. On the hydra's attention is back on him, Ignite the sword.
>>
>>34963333

I have 2 family members that just had surgery for that. SO I know it can be tough. I get myself checked out every year, so I can try and catch it early.

If you do stick around for enough.
How many active jobs can we have on?
Curious since i see we've on knight and are able to cast spells so I assume Wizard is on.
>>
>>34963544
You can have as many active jobs on as you want, because you are a scion. Others are limited to one active job at a time.
I'm basically the beta tester for this system, ask me anything
>>
>>34963726
I do remember that we had to turn off some jobs.
And I see that we also had our class off.
Could you tell me more about that.
>>
>>34963726
I am also seeing"Spell Design
Magic hits a hell of a lot harder than weapons, but since spells cost mana, it should end up balanced in
the end. I hope. They're simplicity itself.
1 MP = 3 damage on single target spells
2 MP = 3 damage on AoE spells"
does increasing int and elemental increase the attack?
>>
>>34963726
>You can have as many active jobs on as you want
If this is true might be a bit to broken, but I do think that OP put a limit on this. I think it's been limited to 3-4 classes max.
>>
>>34963876
Basically you divide XP among all active jobs and your class (except scion, which levels without xp AND gives you a 50% bonus to XP gain). Basically you've turned off some of your jobs so you don't level extremely slowly in all of your jobs, instead of leveling faster in 2-3 of them.

>>34963994
Mainly, it gives you access to improved, more powerful and more expensive spells, and increases your mana supply. You'll note that you can't just dump all of your mana into a single fireball.
>>
>>34964100
>If this is true might be a bit to broken,
Scion is deliberately broken. It is essentially the mechanical advantage you get for being the main character. The main limit to your class gain is that you divide XP among them. So sure, you can have every single class active, but you'll never get past level 20 in any of them. If you were to focus on just a single class you'd level it quickly but would have reduced versatility.
>>
>>34964116
thank you for that,
So dumping into elemental, we would just be gaining access to stronger skills.
While Int gives us more mana.
>Basically you've turned off some of your jobs so you don't level extremely slowly in all of your jobs
Thanks a feel a lot more caught up.
I don't see the main characters stats in the PDF. I am sure there is a reason for this, But for his latest stats should I just look for the last one posted?
>>
>>34964226
yeah, after reading what you posted that makes perfect sense.
As for money. How do you personally feel about it at the rate at which we can attain it?
Do you think it may harm us, in thatif some players want to just focus on making soaps. untill we have 50k gold to buy extreme staff and what not?
Or do you think the money will even it's self out with how expensive certain gear is, if it's enchanted/ has cards on them.
>>
>>34964262
the MC's stats are on page 20
>>34964349
>Do you think it may harm us, in thatif some players want to just focus on making soaps. untill we have 50k gold to buy extreme staff and what not?
Eventually, you'll saturate the market and be unable to make money. Plus, sooner or later Elli will realize she's doing all the work and getting none of the money. She's really nice and all, but I'd personally advise against abusing her generosity.
>>
>>34964484
i don't see a page 20. D:
mhm, makes perfect sense. We split the proceeds with her. 20/80. since we're investing our money and our Idea. Along with only selling 50-100 a week/day to increase demand. possibly more. 100 seems like a good number. since she wouldn't have to be working to hard.

>>
>>34966570
No, it's part of the human condition. Because man can think, he goes with it and carries it to a logical conclusion.

Am I right? How do I know I'm right? I don't rightfully know so why do I still feel with all my soul that I am? What if I'm wrong here? What if my every fiber is straining to find a yes where I should find a no?

Sentience is as much of a curse as it is a blessing. There are reasons behind a morality system, killing something mindless is something completely different from killing something capable of the questions I asked above and truly mean it. Nobody faults the lion for killing the gazelle, yet some do for the human who kills the lion for its hide. Are they right to do so? We could go on all day, the fact that we can is what separates us from the "beasts" as we so like to call them.
