“And what happened next?”

“Well… We won! It was- It was a rush of emotions, I felt relief and joy and excitement! All of those at the same time! It was like being buried in a wave of emotions that pretty much saturate your imagination and render you completely dumb and deaf to everything around you-

“So… you just stood there like an idiot.”

“It took Kitten kissing me full on the mouth to snap me out of it.”

“Ah, you were such a slut back then!”

“Hey, compared to you, I was very conservative. Anyway though… honestly the tournament, probably one of the bigger chapters of my life. Tankery as a whole is a lively pursuit. I’m not much of a fan of the Cold War stuff being used nowadays but if that’s what the kids want, that’s what the kids want. Must admit, there’s a derpy little charm to the Patton.”

“Who uses the term derpy anymore?”

“Ah, quiet you.

> SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21ST, 2013

Kitten hugs you from behind tightly as you, her, and your crew look upon Cupid the Sherman tank. “We did it!” says Kitten. “I can’t believe we did it!” She kisses you again on the cheek.

Now, both shots actually did impact their targets. While yours bounced off the mantlet and right through the top armor for a penetration, Ooarai’s tank shot actually penetrated your mantlet instead. It was a penetrating hit, but it only scored a weaponry kill. You cannot speak of how relieved you were to find that out. You thought the Judging system had malfunctioned.

Nancy smiles, patting Cupid on the side armor. “This old tank has brought us this far.”

> “So what was Cupid like? During the War at least? It was an original right?”

> “They all were.”

> M4A1E8 Sherman “Cupid”
> Cupid has had a long history of warfare under its belt. First built at the Lima Locomotive works for use by the British Army, it narrowly avoided the more famous reputation of “Michael” by being the second production M4 Sherman. It first served in North Africa at El Alamein with the 8th Army, but was knocked out and later captured by the Germans as a Beutepanzer.

> It was later knocked out again, and recaptured by US Armored Divisions, and relocated to the Italy invasion where it was again knocked out. However, it was spared from death again by a German crew looking to salvage it, but found that the engine still worked. Thus, it became a Beutepanzer again, but was later knocked out at Monte Cassino.

> It was then recovered again by British technical crews where it served in Operation Market Garden, again being knocked out during the crossing of Highway 69 “Hell’s Highway”. However, it was left abandoned for some time until 1945 where Allied forces recovered the tank lying in a ditch partially buried in the Earth. It was recovered, and found to be working again. It served in the Rhine crossing where once again, it was knocked out.

> Once the war ended, Cupid served as a memorial after being recovered in an unknown Western German hamlet. However, they sold the tank to Tankery teams for use, LGA being its most famous user. When they saw the hastily repaired battle scars, they nicknamed the tank “Patches”, and it would serve with LGA until the Tankery Team’s demise in the late 80s.

“Yeah,” says Lisa. “Hey, Boss, think maybe when we graduate, we’ll put Cupid on a pedestal or something, like a museum tank or something?”

> “It deserves better than that.”
> “Sure, sure.”
> “I’ve got other ideas.”

> “I’ve got other ideas.”

You cross your arms, smiling at the huge hulk of metal. If anything, he deserves a bit better than being a memorial. “Well, I’ve got other ideas, Lisa.” You have to make a mental note of how much this thing costs. You’d love to have him in your home, ready to fight if necessary!

Or maybe just to teach Griselda. Who knows.

Nancy smiles. “Well, I’m glad Cupid’s brought us this far! I think the poor thing deserves a rest for now.”

Lisa rolls her eyes. “It’s just a tank.” You all pout at her. “What?”

Ramirez crosses her arms, quirking her brow. “So I didn’t see you last night talking to Cupid and asking it to-“ Lisa plants her hands over Ramirez’s mouth, blushing intensely.

“You shut the fuck up,” says Lisa. Ramirez stares at her, smirking beneath her hands.

With that, you look over to see Miho and crew walk over to you. They look battered and beaten. Yukari herself is trying to hold in tears while holding onto Miho. “Ah, Pool-san.” She offers her hand, and you shake it. Miho smiles. “You fought well!”

You hug Miho and Yukari tight, surprising them. “Awwww! You two gave us a hell of a fight! The best fight I reckon!” They smile, meekly hugging you back. Screw it if Japan doesn’t do hugs! You’re hugging them!

You break away after a whole minute of hugs and pat their shoulders. “Now you two. Maybe we’ll see you both in the spring, yeah?”

They nod. “Yes!” says Miho.

Yukari grins, wiping the tears from her eyes. “We will roll you like the Operation Bagration!”

> Ooarai Girls Academy
> After a hard fight for their school’s existence in the spring and the summer before the World Series, they came into this match with high spirits. Although still stymied by their lack of resources, they scrounged together what they could. Miho’s old friends from Middle School even came in to chip in and help in any way they could.

> The Academy would continue the long tradition of Senshadou for years to come, and even ten years later, they are now looking into expanding into a Skycraft team.

> The Nishizumi family is still one of the premier schools for Senshadou around the world.

With that, your Japanese rivals leave you, waving goodbye, except for Miho however. Miho says, “Do you not know what Ganbatte means?”

You blink, scratching the back of your head. Oh boy. “Eh… well.”

Miho smiles. “It means, do your best.” With that, she giggles and turns around to join her crew and her team.

“She seems nice,” says Lisa. “I like her.”

“The nicest,” you say.

“Aaaahhhh!” Griselda runs over and tackles you. You stand your ground though, spinning her around in a hug. She laughs, happy and giddy like a kid on Christmas morning. “You did it! You really did it! You won!”

“I know, I know,” you say. “Jeez, you make it sound like you didn’t believe in me.”

Griselda drops down out of your hug, still laughing. “Gotta admit, there was a moment there.” You frown at her. “But I was behind you the whole way.” Griselda walks past you and immediately hugs Kitten as well. “Kitten, I’m proud of you too, girl!”

Kitten laughs, patting Griselda on the back. “Thanks, Griselda. Honestly.”

Suddenly you’re lifted up into the air. “WHOA! HELLO-“

“That’s my little girl!” Dad takes you in huge bearhug that sucks the breath from you. “Ahahaha! This’ll be something to tell the asshole down the street! You really really did it! Oh god! I can’t believe it!”

“Believe it, Dad!” You kiss him on the cheek. “You raised a champ!”

He shakes his head, grinning. “Oh, I did more than that. God, honey, I’m so proud of you. We all are.” He wipes a tear from his eye. “God, I think I’m gonna cry again.” You playfully slap him on the chest, pouty.

> GARNETT POOL
> He continued living his life as an assistant to the US Diplomatic Office, but found a greater career as a US Diplomat himself. He found himself assigned to the US Embassy in China, and there he is known to the population as “The Big Friendly American”. His work in establishing relations between China and the United States would usher in quite the golden age of trade and friendship between the two nations.

> He never remarried. As he states, “I’m old. I’m loved by my daughters, and I think that’s enough for me.”

> He later passed away in 2022. As a testament to his force of personality, over 2,000 people attended his funeral in Northern Virginia. On his gravestone reads is a passage from the Bible, 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. He is survived by his two daughters, Griselda and Gertrude Pool, and his wide extended family.

> GRISELDA POOL
> Attended LGA as soon as she could, and immediately joined the Tankery Team. She became one of LGA’s most famous students and Tankery Team members. By the time she graduated, she left behind a legacy of friendliness, knowledge, and maturity as expected of those who practice the Way of the Tank.

> She would later attend the University of Virginia after LGA, and began a Major in History. But that changed when she had a change of heart, and started a career in Mechanical Engineering. She stated, “I figured, I loved tanks so much, why not build them?”

> Her design for a Main Battle Tank is currently under evaluation by the United States and the Canadian militaries for adoption.

Bernadette kisses you hard on the mouth. Her lips are soft, sweet, and you can’t help but feel that this is just because she wants to bone you later. Oh boy.

Henrietta yells, “You won! You won!” She pumps her fist. “You really won! Haha!”

Andrea smiles as well. “Good job, Gertrude!”

Claire is quiet, crossing her arms. “Y-yeah… Good job.” She nods, frowning. “Good job.” Tears start flowing out of her eyes. “G-Good…” She starts sobbing into Andrea’s shoulder. The two Seniors start comforting her. “Aaaahhh!”

“Oh, there there,” says Henrietta.

Bernadette smiles, breaking away from the kiss. “You deserve that, and then some. Think you can win us more matches in the Spring?”

“Think so?” You smirk, kissing her on the cheek. “I know so.”

> Henrietta would later attend her selected business school, however, she found that business was not for her about a year in. Thusly, she dropped out of the school and instead went into blue-collar work. Firstly as a roofing contractor, then as a plumber, and finally as a health inspector. Although Andrea continually questioned why she dropped out of business school, Henrietta simply shrugged and said, “Eh. Turns out I don’t like business.”

> Henrietta would later marry one of her clients, a man by the name of George Mailer, and she would later settle down as a health inspector in Pennsylvania. She and Andrea continue daily correspondence over the phone, Skype, and any other social media platform.

> She would later attend the school of her choice, however she found a keen interest in science, and minored in Computer Programming. This was mostly due to how lazy she was. Because she was so swamped with homework and other things to do, she decided to use what programming knowledge she had to develop an AI that would do her homework for her.

> She ended up developing an incredibly adaptive artificial intelligence that surpasses even today’s AI standards. It became the basis for the first true Artificial Intelligence, to be launched into space by 2030 on the first Mars Colony flight. Its name is HAL.

> CLAIRE DUCHAMPS (WALKER)
> Claire retired back to Pennsylvania after Yale University. She had majored in Computer Science, but found herself longing a bit, as if there was something missing in her life. Thusly, she took up becoming a teacher. She became one of the Middle School’s most beloved teachers, but was forced out by an angry parent after Claire explained the nuances of Sex to them outside of FLE.

> The students, angry with Claire’s dismissal, decided instead to go to her house to learn in a surprise show of solidarity. Claire ended up opening the first Open House School, out of her own home. She later wound up marrying one of her former colleagues as well, and they expect their first child in a few months.

> Senior Council “Steel”
> BERNADETTE F. FAIRLESS
> After graduation, she would indeed move onto Princeton University. She kept in touch in with Gertrude, Kitten, and her friends in the Senior Council for some time over long distance. After four years and a Major in American Literature, she decided to put that Major to good use by becoming a make up worker in the film industry.

> In LA, Bernadette continued her work in make up, but struck wild success for her work on the popular adaption of “All Quiet on the Western Front”, where her skill in portraying the wounded, both physically and mentally, won her an Oscar. She is now looking into becoming a director, and has even been earmarked for an adaptation of a DC Comic franchise “Blackhawks”. It is slated for release in 2024.

> She and Gertrude continued their romantic relations, but as the physical distance between them grew, they mutually agreed to break it off. They still remain good friends however, even if distance has separated them. Bernadette later gave an interview during production of Blackhawks. She was relatively civil, and blunt about the works of the production, until the question came up. “You did Tankery with Gertrude Pool in LGA, what was that like?”

> Bernadette, clearly on the verge of tears, said, “Gertrude Pool saved my life.”

Charlotte and company sit on their panther tank, smiling and joking with one another. “Hey, Gertrude!” Charlotte smiles at you. “Just want to say thanks for giving us this opportunity.”

“Yeah,” says Elouise. “We’re all in indebted to you.”

“And if you ever need us, just call!” says Abigail.

> CHARLOTTE JONES (LUCIANO)
> Her delinquent records, along with all the others, were erased by the victory at Arracourt and of the World Series. Charlotte’s grades skyrocketed up, and she managed to get into the college of her choice, New York University. She majored in Finance for some time, but later met her husband Calvin Jones.

> After college, Calvin become a factory manager that produces some of the parts required for Tankery judging devices. Charlotte herself, despite being one of the more famous commanders of LGA’s Tankery program, decide to retire to a quiet life of a housewife. She is currently raising a three year old daughter by the name of Jeanine.

> MAYA LANSKY
> The creation of the LGA lottery helped boost Maya’s reputation, even in the face of blatant gambling and other financial crimes she committed aboard the Academyship. She attended Virginia Tech University and decide to major in Finance.

> However, she struck gold when she decided to continue her run of financial thrifting again, this time in selling essays and the like. She was eventually expelled from Virginia Tech however after the authorities found out about it.

> Thusly, Maya eventually decided to just legitimize her pursuit of money and start working at Bank of America. She currently sits on their Board of Directors, one of their youngest yet.

> ELOUISE BUCHALTER
> Her grandmother would later die of Alzheimers a year after her graduation, much to Elouise’s dismay. But Abigail would later pull her out of it, and soon, Elouise would simply decide to join the US Coast Guard to make herself useful.

> In her career, she’s rescued over 42 people from the thrashing waters of the US Coast Line.

> BENITA SIEGEL
> Continued working at Mr. Mishka’s shop, even after his death. She did not attend college, and indeed decided on to remain at the shop for a whole ten years with Huxley. When asked why, she said, “I dunno. I feel like I belong here.”

> She’s still there.

> ABIGAIL HARDING (ZWILLMAN)
> She decided not to go to college unlike many of her colleagues. Instead, she took her life savings, and founded an Animal Shelter. This Animal Shelter eventually grew into a multi-acre reserve for animals that would continue to expand and thrive with animals of all kinds under Abigail’s watch. Abigail herself later married a zookeeper named Eustace Harding.

> Her animal reserve came under fire for a bit from organizations like PETA. However, in response, she founded a charity for pets without homes, “Panzer Pets.” This charity is now one of the largest to donate to animal shelters across the country and beyond.

> BETTY GRABLE
> She spent most of her college life modelling and acting in Theatre, having found a new sense of courage after the Tournament. She decided on becoming a teacher as well after college, but found herself in a world of hurt as she tried to teach inner-city kids in Detroit.

> However, she eventually won over the kids with respect and guile. She is now the Principal of a little school in Detroit, and everyone is completely baffled as to why she stays there.

> MARILYN MAXWELL
> She was determined to find herself a husband, but unfortunately her inability to cook meant that through most of her college life, it was hit or miss. All of her relationships ended up in shambles, and she eventually resigned herself to being single her whole life.

> However, she eventually met her boyfriend, who actually knew how to cook. The two of them hit it off after college graduation, and they are now engaged and expected to marry in September. All the Juniors are expected to be Bridesmaids.

> JANE WILDER (RUSSELL)
> Her quiet demeanor meant that she went through college relatively unnoticed. She actually served for a time on Nova Community College’s SGA and then George Mason University’s SGA, but nobody ever actually noticed her.

> That is until her husband did. He described it as, “Like getting shot,” when he first saw Jane. He immediately proposed to her on that day, even despite the fact that they never knew each other and had never even talked to one another.

> She immediately slapped him.

> GEORGIA BEKOWSKI (JONES)
> Later refounded the Lafayette Runner after the tournament. With that however, she left the Tankery Team and threw herself into the work as editor-in-chief. She continued this until her graduation, and is now one of the celebrated workers of LGA even ten years later.

> She now works for the Washington Post as a reporter. Though, she is interested in going into the field in Africa and South America.

Dory walks over, along with the Naval Studies Engineering Students. “Hey, Gertrude. Nice work in the tournament. Sorry we couldn’t be more help to you after all.” She brushes the back of her hair, smiling nervously. “Guess you didn’t need us, huh?”

> DORY MILLER
> Joined the Navy. She attended the Naval Academy at Annapolis, was commissioned later.

> Her ship, the USS Maine, ended up striking a rock during its journey. It began capsizing. Dory’s quick thinking was instrumental to saving the lives of over 200 sailors, and she was awarded the Navy Cross. She is now looking into becoming the Captain for the USS Enterprise, a role that the US Navy has begun grooming her for.

> JANE BRADLEY
> Her competitive nature meant she stayed top of her class at West Point. She graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant, and began her stint in the US Military.

> She later found action in the form of a wildfire near her base. Due to the suddenness of the disaster, her small training unit consisting of nothing more than about 20 people ended up having to shoulder the evacuation of a town of over 15,000 people. Not a single person was lost, and Bradley was awarded the Medal of Honor for her actions that day.

> JOSIE ENRIGHT
> Joined the Air Force Academy and ended up top of her class throughout it. Upon graduation, she was posted to Hawaii, but unfortunately she would not fly Jets as she thought she would.

> However, she found out what exactly she would be flying. P-51 Mustangs for the Air Force’s Skycraft team. She did that, and ended up continuing to fly for the team through her term of service, and then retired to a slow life of stunt flying in North Carolina.

> She still has her rather bubbly personality. She and Slade continue to correspond every now and again, and rumors are abound of some kind of relationship.

> SLOAN “SLADE” CUTTER
> Joined the Marines out of High School and distinguished herself as the first woman to meet the male requirements for enlistment.

> Her blunt and stubborn nature later attracted the attention of her base Commander, who recommended her for OCS. Slade ended up attending, and became a Marine Officer out of it. She is now a Major.

You smile, hugging Kate. “You’re welcome, Kate.” Kate hugs back, smiling warmly. “Think you’ll stay in Tankery?”

Kate nods. “Definitely. Was thinking of Cold War actually.”

“Oooh… high-tech!” You quirk your eyebrows up. Way more high-tech than your WWII Panzers.

> KATE KNISPEL
> After college at Walter Christie Polytechnical Institute, she started doing Cold War Tankery professionally for the Richmond “Drivers” Team. They won several titles, and then Kate decided to retire from the sport. She decided however to become a coach for it, and thusly she founded the Tankery School for Girls in Richmond where girls can learn how to operate tanks.

> She’s still there. So is Steelmuncher.

> MICHELLE DEWITT
> She continued doing Tankery with Kate at the Cold War level. When Kate retired, so did she, and she became one of the school’s first teachers.

> An incident occurred at the school, where a student was injured by a tank shell. Michelle coolly took her to the hospital, and stayed by her bedside until her parents arrived, and even after that.

> When Kate asked why she did that, Michelle said, “I ran out someone who needed me once. I won’t do it again.”

> WENDY KNIEP
> Joined the US Army alongside Jane Bradley. She was immediately picked up by Jeanette Dubois for the US Army Armor School.

> Wendy served as a loader in an M1 Abrams tank for a time, and then when her term ended, she decided to re-enlist. However, she became an Officer at Dubois’ recommendation, and now teaches at the US Army Armor School as a Major.

> JOANNA BOLTER
> Decided to continue on with tanks, but away from Kate and Michelle. She went on out west towards California. There, she founded her own school of Tankery like Kate and Michelle’s. This school however was more oriented towards driving and racing.

> She taught three winners of the ITL Racing World Series, and her school is considered one of the finest Tankery has to offer. Even Shiho Nishizumi has visited, to attend classes.

> OCTAVIA CARIUS
> Despite her love for the Way of the Tank, Octavia did not continue with Tanks after LGA. Indeed, she decided to open up a little Theatre in her home of Richmond, Virginia. There, she teaches acting classes, film production, and other thespian pursuits.

> However, when asked about her career in Tankery, Octavia is prone to spending hours discussing it. Talking about it, you could tell she’d love to return to it one day.

> JO EKINS
> She regained the ability to walk, somewhat, and only with a cane. This however, did not stop her from re-entering the Tankery scene. Despite warnings of her safety and other issues with handicapped users of Tanks, Jo continued on with her career. She joined the All-Star American Tankery Team after college at George Mason University, and became its Team Captain two years after her entry.

You continue walking along, gathering your crews, marching through the booths to cheering crowds. You have never felt anything like this. It’s… bliss. Just pure and simple you think.

Fredendall sighs, looking at you. “Pool. I think I’ve done enough damage.” She sighs. “Honestly, I hate you. But at the same time… I admire that you saved the school.” She smiles a little. “That takes guts, and I love that.”

> LILAH D. FREDENDALL
> She spent most of LGA quietly going through classes. Her exploit of burning down the school wasn’t forgotten by most of the Student body however, and by the time she graduated she was one of the most hated students on campus.

> She decided not to attend college however. Instead, she simply got some money from her father, bought a plot of land near Washington D.C., and then started building. Nobody was particularly sure why she did that.

> Then she opened up the building. “The Fredendall Home for Boys and Girls”.

> She decided to make up for her past actions by opening up an orphanage. She’s still there, and she’s well-loved by all the children who live there.

“Hey,” says Fredendall. “I’m guessing you’re taking Tankery into next year, right?” You nod at that. “Think you can keep up this winning streak?”

“We’ll do more than that.” You snap your finger, winking at her. She blushes a little at that. Anyway, catch you on the flipside?”

She sighs, rolling her eyes. “I suppose I will.”

With that, you leave Fredendall to rejoin your crews on their march. Nancy, Lisa, Kitten, Ramirez, and Bernadette smile at you as you begin closing in on the stage. Cathy and friends however force their way to the front. “Gertrude! Gertrude!” You look back to see Cathy and the Freshmen. “Hey! We just wanted to say thanks for the opportunity!” says Cathy.

“Ah, it’s nothing,” you say. “Honest!”

“Well…” Tabitha sniffles a bit. “We’re glad to have met you!”

“And we’ll keep doing Tankery!” says Andrea.

You smile. “Hey, you girls were the first to believe in this Tankery business! You girls will be right behind us going up that stage and holding up this here Flag! We couldn’t have done it without so much dedication from any of you. I’m proud of you all.”

They all smile, grinning embarrassedly. “Oh, Gertrude!” yells Cathy. “I love you so much! In a platonic way!”

“Of course, of course,” you say.

> CATHY MCDOWELL
> Become a renowned guitar player through the United States, but did not go into music professional. Instead, she simply releases an album every now and again with her girls. She uses the insane amount of money each album makes to finance her home and finance a charity. This charity gives money to the poor, and opens up schools of music in less-than-respected areas of the Country.

> Although their band did not last past High School, they all remained very good friends, and still continue to play together when they can.

> TARA MCCLELLAN
> She played the Banjo all throughout her college days in Alabama. She continued to do so, and now plays in a band with a few other boys and girls called “the Foggy Mountain Children”.

> She later broke the Guinness World Record for Fastest Banjo Picking.

> ASHLEIGH BURNSIDE
> Continued on with her fiddling pursuits with Andrea at the University of Georgia. However, once they split off after Graduation, she went off down to Atlanta to become a businesswoman. She failed to do so however, and ended up homeless for a while.

> However, she came upon some money when she relayed the situation to her fellow Freshmen. They all donated money to her so that she could afford a nice little home. She made good use of it, and ended up becoming a landlady. Her tenants note the lovely fiddle music coming from her room every day.

> ANDREA HOOKER
> Continued playing the Mandolin through college at the University of Georgia with Ashleigh. They both were well-celebrated as a pair, but they later split off after graduation. Andrea went off to her hometown of Macon, and now runs a drug store there.

> She continues to play the Mandolin however, for her cousin’s kids. She’s currently dating one of her pharmacists.

> TABITHA RASA (MEADE)
> Tabitha did not go to college, but instead pursued her family in the perfume industry. She helped design a lovely perfume called “Tank”. She later married and continued on her career in the perfume industry, becoming one of the lead designers of perfume.

> She still gets together with her fellow Freshmen for a jam session every now and again.

With that, you arrive at the stage. A crowd gathers to come applaud your victory. The Judges as well look to you. It seems you’re about to give a victory speech.

Nancy smiles at you. “Well. Gertrude.” You look at her. “I still can’t believe you did it.”

> NANCY WHITMORE
> After LGA, she went into professional Tankery for about a year during college. However, without her crew with her, she didn’t feel the same spark she did at LGA. Thusly, she retired before her professional career could take off.

> Instead, she decided to explore other opportunities. Her brother’s entrepreneurship kept her afloat as she drifted across the country trying to figure out what called to her the most.

> Finally, however, she found something.

> She started a Television Program, styled after Mister Rogers’ programs that she grew up with as a kid. It is known as “Nancy’s Neighborhood.” There, she teaches children all kinds of subjects, from love, to understanding, to compassion, to self-discipline, through the use of her magical neighborhood. One character is a miniature M4 Sherman with a heart on the side named “Trudy”.

> At the end of the program, she always signs off with, “Goodbye, kids. And listen, no matter what happens in your life, you just need to know one thing. I like you just the way you are, and I know, there are others too, who do like you.”

> Her program is one of the highest rated on Television.

You pat Nancy on the arm, grinning. “WE did it, Nancy. All of us.” Nancy grins at you, blushing with tears in her eyes. Oh, don’t cry now Nancy. That comes later.

Lisa as well looks on the verge of tears. She waves happily at Mr. Mishka and Huxley in the crowd, who cheer her on. “Gotta say, Boss. It’s… It’s so much. All of it!”

“You should savor it, Lisa.” You wave them up. “Come on up, guys! You won this tournament for us, we wouldn’t have done it without you guys!” They all look at each other, then shrug and start climbing up onto the stage. Mr. Mishka laughs, “Geez! Haha, never thought I’d be up here!”

Huxley smiles. “Neither did I. Hey, Lisa!” Lisa looks over to him.

“Hmph.” Lisa crosses her arms. “What do you-“

Huxley embraces her in the biggest kiss you’ve ever seen. Lisa’s eyes remain stark open, her cheeks red like fire, and her arms pressed up against his chest in surprise.

> LISA MISHKA (COWELL)
> Returned back home to Baltimore to work in the family business. She did so for four years during college at the University of Baltimore majoring in Finance. Throughout college however, she felt unsatisfied, and thusly, upon graduation, she quit the business.

> Her family supported her decision. Thusly, Lisa returned to Lafayette Girls Academy to found a business. What she found was Huxley Mishka, manning the shop.

> Despite their distance and despite their relative differences, they ended up coming together again. Lisa and Huxley married, and are now raising a child named Jurgen Willard Mishka. Lisa handles the finances of the shop, while Huxley continues manning.

[1/2]
>>
>>34868981

> JURGEN MISHKA
> He continued running his shop until his death in 2015. The entire LGA Tankery Team, including those who had graduated, came out to his funeral, where they all sang together, “Amazing Grace”.

> In his will, he left the Shop to Huxley. And he left his prized T-34/76, which he had scrounged up the money to buy himself after the war, to the school. And he also left his memoirs to Lisa, for her to publish when she finished editing them. And for Benita, he left his set of tools, used during the war. They’re still used by her today.

> HUXLEY MISHKA
> Continued on managing the shop after Jurgen’s death. Until Lisa’s return to LGA, he was relatively without cause. Lisa’s return marked a turning point for him. He shaved his beard, he got his things together, and he began running the shop more efficiently.

> When he proposed, he said, “I never thought I would do this. Clearly you don’t have better taste in men. But Lisa, you have changed my life, and I want you to keep changing it. Will you marry me?”

> And the rest is history.

Lisa pushes her off, spitting a bit. “Agh! God- Warn me next time- Jeez!” She shudders, but still hugs Huxley. Huxley grins, running his fingers through her hair. “Stupid idiot, making a scene. This isn’t World War II and you ain’t a sailor!”

“You know,” says Ramirez. “You can say something.” She smiles, one of the few times you’ve ever seen her do that.

You lean on her shoulder. “Alright, alright. Just smile, Ramirez. You did good.”

“Thanks, Prez.”

> CHRYSANTHEMUM GUTIERREZ (RAMIREZ)
> She and her boyfriend Diego Gutierrez continued their relationship to the surprise of many. Even with Ramirez continuing through college, Diego came by to visit as much as possible, to style her hair and to offer her sage advice, as most barbers do.

> Ramirez eventually married him. They already have a young daughter named Maria. Ramirez takes care of her onboard LGA as Diego’s wife.

> Students often come by the shop to talk to Ramirez about her days in Tankery. Ramirez simply shrugs to them and says, “It was fun. Couldn’t ask more. Couldn’t ask less.” With that, Ramirez lives the simple life, the one she always wanted.

The crowd applauds you all as the Judges bring up the trophy. A huge golden Tiger Tank upon a pedestal. Crew Officers Kate, Samantha, Cathy, and Charlotte wave the flag together, laughing and cheering with the rest of your crews.

Over the past few months, I’ve worked hard, I’ve done a lot, seen a lot, all that. But-…” You pause a bit, choking up. No, not now. “This ain’t mine. Not by a long shot.

“We all did our best, all of us. I have to thank each and every single person on my team. Principal Tennyson, thank you. To all of the Professors, thank you. Lafayette Girls Academy Tankery Team Commander Linda Rivera sits, smiling. “Wow. That’s… that’s a hell of a story, Miss Pool.”

You kick your feet up on your desk, sighing as you look out the window of the Command Tower. “Yeah, yeah it was.” You shrug. “I figured I’d tell you. Considering you’re feeling nervous about your stint in the World Series.”

Rivera shrugs, brushing back her long black bangs. “Well… yeah, I mean. Tomorrow is our match. I’d hate to lose right before Christmas.”

“Aw, it ain’t just about winning and losing, I know that’s not what you want to hear,” you say. You fold your arms, looking at the pictures your desk. Principal Tennyson passed not too shortly after you graduated. He certainly kept this office clean though.

Rivera says, “Well, Miss Pool. You know, what happen to…” She tilts her head. “You know, it was kinda weird you had to go into detail about the romantic bits.” You chuckle a bit, drinking a bit of coffee to that. “But uh- What happened to Kitten?”

You smile, standing up from your chair. “How about we go see?” You and Rivera stand up and grab your coats.

The school bell rings out. You carefully brush past all the students. T.E.A.C.H. Units hurry from class to class from their ceiling rails, occasionally popping down to assist a student in need.

Room 202. You open it up to see Professor Smith, Professor Carol Smith, at her desk. She yawns a bit as she reviews yesterday’s quizzes, pushing her glasses up. A TEACHER Comes down from the ceiling.

>:: EXCUSE ME, PROFESSOR SMITH, BUT DO YOU REQUIRE ANY ASSISTANCE?

“No, TEACH, thank you,” says Kitten. The TEACH Unit withdraws back up into the ceiling, then flies out of the room on the rails. She looks up to see you and Rivera walk in. “Trudy!” She grins. “Hello, Miss Rivera!”

Rivera points to Kitten, confused. “Wait, Professor Smith is Kitten?”

You nod. “Yeah, haven’t you noticed that I call her Kitten all the time?”

“NO!” Rivera shakes her head. “Holy shit! Wow!... Wow!” She holds her head. “Mind blown, honest to goodness.”

Kitten quirks her brow. “What, you don’t think I could be a tanker?”

“Well…” Rivera laughs nervously. “I wouldn’t say it like that-“ Her phone rings. “Oh sorry.” She pulls it out, and a holo display shows the caller. “Ah, it’s Annie.”

You smirk. “Girlfriend?”

Rivera blushes, glaring at the floor. “No… maybe.” she mutters. “Anyway, I gotta go.”

“Yeah,” says you. “Good luck in the tournament.” Rivera waves goodbye to you both, then leaves out of the classroom.

Kitten smiles at you. “Hmph. Did you come all this way just to say Hi?”

You shrug, walking over and leaning on her desk. “Oh well… You know me.” There’s a knock at the door.

“Come on!” says Kitten.

And in walks the last person you thought you’d ever see.

“Hey, Gertrude.” Bernadette F. Fairless. She looks like she hasn’t aged a day, even with the stressful environment of the film world. All you can see is shorter cropped hair reaching past her shoulders, a new set of glasses, and a dark flat cap to go with her trenchcoat.

“Bernadette!” You smile. “What’s up?” Wait. “Shouldn’t you be in Hollywood?”

She shrugs a bit, looking down at the floor. “Oh yeah… that. We finished production a few weeks ago, I handed it over to the editors, someone I can really trust actually. But um… yeah. I’m here, decided to pay you guys a visit.”

Kitten smiles. “It’s good to see you!” She stands up, walking over. “Jeez. You haven’t aged a day.”

“Yeah, the miracles of not stressing over anything,” says Bernadette. She smiles at you both. “You doing well, Gertrude? Think you, me, and Kitten can catch up over a movie and a cup of coffee?”

“Oh, we’re doing great! Better than great.” you say. “Yeah, me and Kitten can totally do that.” You check the time. “In fact, we can do it now if you’d like.” You three walk out of the room, with Kitten calling for a TEACH Unit to lock up behind her. “So, Bernadette, you staying here long?”

Bernadette shrugs. “A month, spend it with friends and family. If you guys want though, I can get you tickets to the premiere of Blackhawks.”

Kitten leans over, stars in her eyes. “Oh my god! That’d be great! It’d be great to see the Blackhawks, finally on the Big Screen! They’re almost as cool as Nathan Zachary and the Fortune Hunters!”

“Yeah!” you grin. “That’d be awesome!” You hug Bernadette. “Seriously, it’s great to see you again. You know, Lisa and Ramirez are still on board. You should give them a visit, see how they’re doing.”

“Oh, I know they’re doing good,” says Bernadette. You all step out into the brisk cold of LGA. “But really, Gertrude. It’s good to see you again, you too Kitten. Hollywood’s just been a pain in the ass and it feels great to get away from it.” She crosses her arms, sighing. Her breath turns to vapor in the biting cold.

Kitten smiles. “It’s good to see you too, Bernadette. Didn’t think we’d ever see you again.”

“Well, I’m here,” says Bernadette. “And tell you what, how about a classic?” You begin walking through the snow. “I got The Rocketeer up. That tickle your fancy?”

“Does it?” you say. “I’m about pissing myself in excitement!” You kiss Bernadette on the cheek, and to which you can see her cheeks redden a bit. “I think I’m ready for some high flying action and a sexy-ass Billy Campbell!”

Hang in there, Rivera. You too, Cupid.

> END QUEST.

Well boys and girls. We're at the end of the line. I gotta say, I came close to crying writing some of this stuff. It's been a hell of a year writing this Quest for you all. We've gone through tests, trials, tribulations, and turmoil, and we've come out of it greater.

To those of you who stuck with it from beginning to end, thanks for reading and thank you so much for your dedication.

To those of you who dropped, I hope you pick it up from the archives at least, and thank you at least for giving it a try.

Special thanks to those in the Quest IRC for giving me hope in my sadder moments. Excel Anon in particular for his charts and his enthusiasm for this Quest. Drawfag anons as well, and the Writefag as well for dedicating their time to this.

This Quest was my very first Quest. In the year between then and now, I've learned so much, and gotten such amazing responses from all of my readers. I'd just like you all to know, this Quest would be nothing without you.

And so, I bid you adieu.

I'll keep on Questing, maybe I'll retire one of these days, but for now.

Here's to another year of Questing!

Polish Student Association “Wojtek”

Janet “Janek” Kos: Throughout her college years, she and her Poles have remained together, with her being at the forefront. She returned to Poland to meet with her extended relatives after college. After listening to her grandfather tell stories about the War, and after seeing the beautiful countryside of Poland, she decided to stay permanently.

She now teaches Tankery at a local school in Northern Poland, along with occasionally volunteering at the local animal shelter as well.

Augusta “Gussie” Jeleń: She decided to go into becoming a stuntwoman after college. Bernadette Fairless managed to earmark her a spot as a stuntwoman on the film “All Quiet On the Western Front”. However, the director found that she actually had a natural acting talent.

Thusly, Gussie replaced the original actor of Paul Baumer’s sister, and took on the role with surprisingly subtlety. She was nominated an Oscar for her.

After that, she now continues in Indie movies, lending her acting chops, sometimes for free.

Teresa “Terry” Czereśniak: After college, she began a career in radio. She now runs a very popular internet radio show called “Tanks Today” which talks about the current state of the ITL and tanks. Many of her former compatriots in the team were guests on the show at one point or another.

She’s also become a voice actor with a wide range. She actually voices Unicron in the latest Transformers movie.

Grażyna “George” Saakaszwili: After LGA, she decided not to go to college and live the life of an aimless drifter throughout the United States. After about five years of being homeless, with only sparse contact with the rest of her fellow friends in the Polish Student Association, she was taken in by Janek. There, she wrote a book called “The American Wild”, an autobiographical account of her experience on LGA, and of her experience traveling the US. It still consistently tops the Bestseller charts.

Using the money made from the book, George settled into the role of becoming a Gym teacher at a little High School in her homestate of Kentucky.

“Olgierd”: Lived to be over 73 years old, in dog years. He passed on shortly after Janek and company graduated from Lafayette Girls Academy. Before then however, he sired over 22 puppies, many of which were adopted by the next generation of Tankers as mascots for LGA’s Tankery Team.

Attempted to join the Air Force, but washed out due to a hearing issue. Instead, she decided to become a civilian pilot for hire instead. She later found great success in becoming an air courier, by inventing a system of accurate airdropping techniques.

Amazon later hired her as a consultant for their drone operated package courier system and she now lives a comfortable life in North Carolina, flying her Cessna and telling her nieces and nephews stories of her time in Tankery. She’s currently dating an Air Force pilot.

> Katya Szarabajka (Seversky)
She met her husband during college when she accidentally crashed her plane on his car. After a very awkward insurance meeting, the two hit it off very well, and they married after college. Although Katya wanted to join the Air Force, she decided to instead stay at home. Luckily for her, her husband needed to travel a lot, and money was tight.

She is now her husband’s own personal pilot.

> Jenny Curtiss
Jenny decided to become a civil engineer in college, but found aviation beckoning to her again. Thusly, after college, she became an aviation engineer for Lockheed-Martin. She designed several successful prototypes, but her outspoken demeanor against the F-35 Hornet (which to this day, still drains money from the US Defense Budget) meant she would later be dismissed from the company.

However, she decided to found her own Aviation Company called Soaring, and built a new prototype jet plane which far outstrips the Hornet in terms of speed and maneuverability. It is currently being evaluated by France and Great Britain for adoption in their Air Force.

That's my problem with it: why retell it when you can just watch the series? Plus, I read it before I saw the series, and it actually convinced me to put off watching it for an entire year.

Rifle Team “Minie”
> Samantha Whitworth
During college, she ended up being scouted by the US Olympic Sports Team for their Rifle Competitions. She joined eagerly, and won a silver medal.

After the Olympics, she retired to a quiet life on the firing range. She began a webseries known as “Whitworth’s Rifles”, where Samantha talks shop about rifles, and fires them as well, and gives them her own personal review. She has over 1,000,000 subscribers, and is responsible for saving the 2nd Amendment from being overturned in 2020.

> Megan Schofield (Enfield)
When Samantha was recruited into the Olympic teams, Megan simply joined her University’s Rifle Team to little fame. She didn’t care however, and she found herself glad to still be surrounded by her most lovely guns. When she graduated, she met a nice man who was a designer for revolvers.

She immediately dragged him into a bathroom and banged him. They would proceed to get married.

They are now married with their fourth child expected soon.

> Natalya Springfield
After LGA, Natalya dropped off of everyone’s radar. For nearly nine years, nobody knew what had happened to her, and nobody ever saw her again.

Then she reappeared suddenly last year. Having spent most of her time hunting poachers in Africa. She had kept out of contact for her family’s and her friend’s safety. She’s credited with saving the Rhino and the Elephant from extinction, and she is known to poachers today as “the Black Widow”.

Naval Studies – Merchant “Liberty”
> Francis Dales
When LGA’s university program was reinstated, she attended it along with her fellow Merchant kids. She majored in Business, but found herself again having to tutor her fellow students.

Thusly, when she graduated from the University, she ended up as part of Teach For America, a program for sending teachers in training to areas without resources for proper education. She later became a Professor aboard LGA, and now teaches Business class there. She attempts to get her students into higher literature, with little success.

> Eleanor Donnelly
Her mathematician skill ended up getting her a job at a lab after college. Her major in Math Studies as well helped put her in a position to work for Majestic 12, a recently declassified project of the US to develop Faster-Than-Light travel.

Donnelly didn’t know what the hell was going on, so she mostly just wrote numbers down on the board until someone could figure out what it meant.

She ended up accidentally figuring out the theorem required for FTL travel during one of her drunken escapades.

> Waltraud Alonzo (Sittmann)
During the University program, she met a very handsome man named Jack Alonzo. The two immediately hit it off, mostly in the fact that they had everything in common.

Which really wasn’t saying much.

Thusly, they married after she got out, and she is now a housewife taking care of two children.

> Wilma Thomas Jr.
She followed in Dales’ footsteps to become a teacher, only a lot more clumsier. She attempted to be a Kindergarten teacher, only to end up being bullied by her class. She tried Elementary school, but again was bullied, and then Middle School, and then High School.

She finally found her niche of teaching at LGA, teaching Naval Studies students the ways around the ship. She now serves as one of the Merchant departments Chief Instructors.

That's so normal.

And I hope Waltraud got over her trauma of Gertrude being in charge behind the wheel of a vehicle...

> Jane Keegan
Majored in History in College. Became a History Professor and a Doctor. She now serves as the Secretary of the Department of Education’s chief advisors on education.

She does her best to make the Secretary actually think about what would happen if he did this and that. It’s rumored the two have some sort of relationship considering how much he listens to her and their compatibility.

> Jeanette Smith
She became an anthropologist and began work in the field in South America. She did her best to work with the local indigenous tribes.

She wrote about their plight, and eventual extinction in a book entitled “Where Time is Frozen”. It’s considered a premier work on anthropology and is being preserved in the Library of Congress due to its cultural significance.

> Sandra Marshall
Joined the US Army, and became a Signal Corps operator. However, she found her true calling interviewing soldiers who had returned from fighting in the war.

She later compiled these accounts, and wrote a fictional account of the Iraq War called “Dust to Dust”. It is a best seller and is highly regarded for its realism and its respect to veterans. Half of all proceeds to this book goes to Veterans charities around the United States. Sandra later re-enlisted and still works in the Signal Corps.

> Mikaela Howard
After college, she took a trip around the United States visiting local sites of the American Civil War. She later compiled her journey into a web blog which is popular with students looking to do research into the Civil War.

Currently, she’s negotiating with Bernadette Fairless as to a possible adaptation of “The Last Full Measure”.

Girl Scouts “Campfire”
> Anne Ridley (Juliette)
She became a Scoutmaster for her local Troop of Girl Scouts after college. During her time, she met two Boy Scouts of America Scoutmasters in a bar. She found out that one of them had been expelled from the association due to his sexuality.

Anne, not being one to lie down for that, contacted as many people as she could. She built up a case against the Boy Scouts of America, and ended up being the woman who made it accept boys of all sexualities. She married the other Scoutmaster, and is still part of the Girl Scouts to this day.

> Bailey "Daisy" Powell
She never did learn how to cook, even in college. However, she found a better niche for herself, delivery! She ended up becoming one of the most efficient mail runners of the Girl Scouts in ages, thus that the US Government took notice and requested her specifically to become US Postmaster General.

She accepted, and is still working there today.

> Sarah Gordon
She went into the wilds of Alaska directly after LGA, doing away with the Girl Scouts and Tankery, and decided to rough it on her own.

Five years later, her fellow Girl Scouts, after receiving no contact from her, decide to come find her. They found her in an abandoned van, no worse for wear, even thriving against the harsh elements. She had built herself a fine establishment as a hermit in the cold wastes, and now her memoirs are being published by Cynthia Low.

> Cynthia Low
Although sporty, she decided not to go into sports. Instead, she actually stayed aboard LGA, forgoing college in favor of keeping the Bakery open.

She’s still there, and she’s now dating one of the Professors.

Theatre Tech “Machina”
> Georgine Barkas
She became a well-respected playwright during college when her play “Lafayette”, which detailed the start of LGA’s Tankery program, became a smash hit. It was later performed on Broadway and as far as London.

Barkas is starting to break out into other writing pursuits, but still maintains a presence as a Theatre Tech stage hand most of the time.

> Stephenie Sykes
Studied Engineering in college, and although she had a love for the play, she decided to drop it in favor of becoming an Engineer. She had a hand in building the famous Atlantropa dam across the Gibraltar strait, which brought power to millions and opened up opportunities for many in Italy.

She now works for the US Government in developing the first functional interstellar spacecraft.

> Antonia "Tony" Ayrton
She continued work on theatre after High School, deciding not to go into College. However, she found herself forced to direct a play when the director dropped out mid production.

That play won a Tony for Best Musical.

> Brianna Robb
Just as mysteriously as she arrived, she simply vanished after LGA.

Some say she’s still building something out.

> Perrine Proud
She started experimenting with Tankery Unlimited in College when she attended Walter Christie Polytech. However, her designs ended up becoming too crazy even for Perrine Hobart, notably in that none of them really worked.

However, her good friend Sykes found her after college, and offered her a spot on her build team. They now work together.
