@QMKingofHearts.

Today is November 12th, UC 0083. You are Commander Dominic O'Hara, Earth Federation Space Forces, squadron leader for the mobile weapon forces aboard the SCV-82 Valkyrie. It's about 02:00, and the Valkyrie is currently positioned right up against the side of a space colony in Side 3: the very same colony that functions as the “capitol” of the Republic of Zeon. The colony is under attack by the Axis Advance Fleet, and your job is to defend against this attack.

So far you and your team have gutted the Gwanban-class battleship that served as the Advance fleet's flagship, and have destroyed the colossal Neue Ziel mobile armor that spearheaded the fleet's mobile weapons teams. What remains is a rather odd Newtype mobile suit with its funnels and something right around 19 mobile suits: mostly Zaku IIs. Some of these are heading for your position, while the bulk are moving towards the far end of the colony in an attempt to force entry. Meanwhile the pilot of the Newtype machine, who the Sisters have described as “weird” (you might even use the word “unnatural”), has sent their remote weapons on a different route. Instead of assaulting you with them, the pilot is sending them in through an access point on the exterior of the colony: likely a maintenance space.

Haman and Rossweisse are preparing to launch an attack using the Kämpfer and the Val Varo, with Rossweisse essentially surfing the mobile armor towards the Advance fleet's “entry team”, and you and the Sisters are planning to counter the remote weapons. Audrey and the Valkyrie will likely focus on the mobile suits advancing on your position.

If we shoot our rifle there's a high chance we'll hit the colony. At this range, our cannons and vulcans will be ineffectual as will grenades.

So, order Carya to cover us while we zoom and boom into the funnel formation. Open up with grenades and vulcans point blank and bug out. Use the colony itself as cover. If the enemy ships have been reluctant to use beam weaponry then the funnel operator will be to in fear of coring the colony.

You do realize that allowing remote weapons to surround you is essentially suicide, right? And that vulcans and cannons essentially EXIST to hit small moving targets, right?

If it's inconvenient you adapt. The enemy funnel pilot would haft to adjust her strategy in order to hit us without damaging the colony. And that is playing the same game I suggested - skimming the colony skin. We play a deadly game of chicken with lasers.
>>
>>34841625
>If it's inconvenient you adapt
Or, as KoH was implying, they'll just say "fuck it, acceptable collateral damage", and shoot us and the colony anyway.
You're assuming that they won't accept a level of collateral damage that would be catastrophic.
>>
>>34841670
Hell, it's likely not even collateral damage. Axis Zeon hates the Republic for allowing the war to end. They want the colony reasonably intact, but I'm pretty sure "kill everyone inside" was on the agenda anyway.
>>
Rolled 4 (1d100)

>>34841670
Acceptable collateral damage is still collateral damage and reduces reputation with the Republic civilians. They're attempting a propaganda war by taking the colony intact, gassing the civilians, blaming it on the Federation, and then sending Side 3 hurtling towards Earth.
>>
>>34841608
We have four? I thought we only had two. Cool. Oh, Lilium, you are the best mobile suit. I hope Anaheim doesn't wind up burying the Gundam Development Plan in this timeline. These suits are just so much nicer than the ones that Project Zeta kicked out.
>>
>>34841725
Uh they've already declared the Republic traitors, at this point they don't give a shit, it won't make much difference if the colony blows up.
>>
>>34841725
If they're going to be killing everyone inside, a few beam holes aren't going to compromise the structural integrity of the colony enough that it can't be used for a Colony Drop.

Since that's the case, damaging the colony a little bit in order to secure it is perfectly acceptable. Which means that the enemy Newtype can and will shoot us with their beam weapons, regardless of damage to the colony so long as it doesn't completely fall apart.

That means that your supposition that the enemy won't shoot at us to avoid damaging the colony is wrong.
>>
>>34841725
Do we know that for sure?
>>
>>34841725
You're also forgetting the one thing that excuses all Zeeks "MUH IDEULS!"
>>
>>34841781
You severely underestimate how dedicated Zeon is to being assholes. Doesn't matter if they don't want to recruit from the Republic, they'll still try to blame the colony's destruction on us. There is no length that they won't go to in order to make life miserable for Earthnoids.
>>
>>34841543
"Sound collision alarms!" you hear Karen order as two more missiles streak towards your team. One of these explodes near the Valkyrie, damaging her hull but doing little more than rocking her in place.

The second rocket knuckleballs out-of-control, eventually spinning off harmlessly into space. The third rocket, fired by a rather unfortunate Zaku pilot, quickly turns into an object lesson for why weaponry has a "shelf life". The rocket's motor fails to ignite, and the squib round remains stubbornly lodged in the launcher's tube. After a small "pop" and no "rock", the warhead automatically arms itself... on a proximity fuse.

The result is a large blast that blows out the barrel and action of the weapon from within, tearing the Zaku's arm apart and showering the nearby suits with shrapnel. Slowly, the wounded pilot loses attitude control and his machine tumbles into the side of the colony.

Your own team follows through with your plan, and Haman sends the Val Varo streaking towards the far group of mobile suits. As she passes the first group of Zakus on the back of the psycommu-guided mobile armor, Rossweisse takes a potshot at a Zaku, but only manages to cause the machines to weave and scatter in alarm. The speed of the Val Varo probably threw her aim off.

Audrey lobs a single shell into the crowd of Zakus, and manages a glancing blow that rips off one of their arms at the shoulder, prompting a bit more panicked maneuvering from your targets. You can tell she's about ready to give up relying on accuracy and simply saturate the area with as much fire as she can muster: a tactic that continues not to work for the Valkyrie, as her guns manage not to hit any of the approaching Zakus.
(1/2)
>>
>>34841769
We're Heavy Arms with less dumb-fire and more dakka.

>>34841781
It makes a huge difference. If the Zekes spin it correctly they can make US look like the aggressors. They're the liberators while we're the ones keeping the locals on the yoke. They post a few videos of cheering, planted Loyalists on Side 3, a dozen or so staged liberated civilians crying SEIG ZEON, and you have everything in place for the war to kick back off.

Gas the colony and say the Feds did it to rile up the spacenoids into another frenzy, fire the manuevering thrusters and send it towards Earth.
>>
>>34841840
Uh but they'll blame us no matter what. Even if they'd destroyed it with mega-particle cannons on a live broadcast. They'd just be like "Well yeah, because the federation turned it into a anti-zeon colony gundam thing."
>>
>>34841898
Yes. That was my point. I'm not trying to argue that they need the colony intact. Just that they'll try to spin it as us being the bad guys if it does explode. Or if it doesn't, and is just gassed. Or if nothing at all bad happens to it and we have a flawless victory here. Zeon are assholes. They destroyed Australia because they were upset about high import tariffs. These are not reasonable people.
>>
>>34841898
We became the Titans and fight AEUG.
>>
>>34841980
Zeon destroyed Australia because even they were terrified of the wildlife.
>>
>>34841988
You, shut up.

Your response to Zeon gassing colonies, is to become a Titan and counter-gas colonies.

This is silly, stop being silly. The AEUG is good, or at least nice-incompetent.
>>
>>34841886
You and the Sisters open fire as well: you manage to shoot down several remote weapons by filling the space around them with lead, and you're backed up by Catrina, who manages to down a few more. Interestingly, you can also feel Carya taking aim and firing at the Zakus with the duo's beam machine gun: she scores a few grazing hits on two Zakus, but manages nothing definitive.

"Catherine, Reiko," you hear Karen's voice, "we need you to shoot."

"I've never done this before," Reiko replies.

"Doesn't matter," Miyu tells her. "Just keep shooting and don't stop. Think of it like you're playing a video game and you've got bottomless clips turned on."

"I can do that," Reiko responds cheerfully.

"Don't get cocky, kid," the older operator jokes.

Meanwhile, Haman nods to herself. "The Val Varo is approaching the target. Hang on Rosse, I need to maneuver here a bit."

As much as you hope Rossweisse will be okay on her own over there, you turn your attention back to the matter at hand: if there are funnels left active, they will have made it inside the colony already. The black mobile suit that launched them continues to hang eerily off in the distance, sitting perfectly still. The pilot shows no signs of wanting to move or to attack.

There are also six Zakus heading your way. You could:
>Waste them with your big Rifles and go to help Rossweisse
>Pick them off in melee combat without using the big guns
>Leave your team to clean up and move forward
>Other

You still have a reroll thanks to Karen's ability.

Agreed. "Anti-Earth Union Group" sounds a bit too antagonistic. Doesn't help that they recruited heavily from former Zeon ranks. I like "Earth-Sphere Reformation League". Someone also suggested a while back that we call ourselves "Olympus" to signify our opposition to the Titans, but this is better as the name of an organization. Maybe we can use Olympus as the name of our flagship. It would be so delightfully confusing to Mars Zeon, since they've got a base built around Mons Olympus and as such any order to seek and destroy the Olympus would need clarification. I'm sure it would eventually get sorted out, but it would annoy them long after it stopped serving a practical purpose.

“We'll cover you,” Karen offers. “Do it!”

You dash forward, blowing past the remaining Zakus before they have a chance to deal with you.

“Audrey, take the last two,” you order. “Carya, stop the black suit however you want to.”

federation Reformation League
>>
See, I went with "Earth-Sphere Reformation League" because it sounds nonthreatening. I mean having the EF and the Titans declare war against the AEUG makes sense from a PR standpoint, since the name "anti-earth" is in there. On the other hand, them declaring war on a group called a 'Reformation League" makes them seem like tyrannical despots, and thus would work to our advantage.

Chosing a nonsensical name doesn't actually do anything for us when the Titans and the EF excommunicate themselves, and anyone who stands against Great Leader Jamitov's plans in sure to be in the firing line, regardless of their name. I mean, the Titans basically decided to beat the crap out of Bright Noa, a war hero, and pilot of one of the biggest faces the EFF had during the OYW, compared to that, what makes you think having an unassuming name would spare us their wrath?

Fuck it, we're a Newtype, associate with known Zeon associate Cima, and have a roster that's chock full of former Zeon personnel, that's plent of enough reason for the EFF high command to hate and fear us.

tl;dr We might as well choose a name that'll gather us as much popular support as possible, since avoiding the EFF's wrath should we splinter, is almost inevitable.
>>

Under an impressive but ineffectual lightshow courtesy of Reiko and Catherine, your team's machines get back to work. Glad to no longer be pinned by overwhelming numbers, Audrey downs one of her Zaku opponents with a shot through the "gut", just missing the cockpit but shredding vital systems and dropping the green machine to the deck. Carya launches towards the black Newtype suit, leading in with her beam machine gun blazing. Several small blasts pepper the enemy suit, but somehow it manages to evade well enough to not take any serious damage.

Unfortunately for the lead team still trying to enter the colony beneath you, Haman drops the Val Varo's plasma leaders around several of the Zakus. The powerful surge of electricity causes some minor power loss inside the colony, as shown by your thermal readouts, but also manages to short out several Zakus and one Gelgoog. Their pilots no doubt frantically work to restore power while Rossweisse takes advantage of the situation. The remaining Gelgoogs continue towards the colony's docking bay, and just manage to round the corner, while the four Zakus which are still mobile turn to face their attackers.

Two grenades make short work of three of the Zakus, but the fourth manages to avoid serious damage.

>Slow long enough to end the fourth Zaku's misery, push on after the Gelgoogs

Audrey is clearly not a happy person right now, frustrated at the pace of the engagement. She spears the last Zaku on the end of her blade rifle, and with loud, wordless cry of rage, spins the Iris about to take aim.

"SUCK ON THIS!" she shouts as she flips the weapon over to beam mode and hits the firing stud.

Downrange, Rossweisse takes a surprise rocket to the side. Her Kampfer is damaged, losing its left arm as she intercepts the projectile with her vulcans just a moment too late: were she not a Newtype, you figure she probably would have taken that shot full on in the side. Her own grenade goes wild, landing amid the still-motionless machines trapped by the Val Varo's plasma leaders. But to everyone's surprise, a beam lances through the Zaku's cockpit just as it tries to line up one last rocket shot at Rossweisse's suit.

"You're welcome!" Audrey calls out, slinging the cored Zaku off her rifle's bladed tip.

The black Newtype machine and the Viola trade blows: a beam saber cuts clean through the Viola's shield as it boosts around and behind the unknown mobile weapon, and Carya responds by taking out the backpack of the enemy machine. With little apparent explanation, you feel any sense of urgency or aggression leave the enemy pilots mind, and the machine itself grows still.

"I'll back you up!" Haman announces proudly as you press on and past the edge of the colony before kicking out and angling your thrusters against your previous trajectory. You and your copilot are slammed downward into your seats as the g-forces become nearly unbearable, and finally you ease out and dash towards the docking hangar where the Gelgoogs went in.

Haman, however, ends up cursing loudly as she badly misdirects the Val Varo's course change.

“Shit, that looked pretty bad, I thought I had more room," she mutters as she attempts to level out the Val Varo's flight. She had underestimated the turning radius of the powerful machine, and ended up bouncing it hard off the side of the colony, buckling several plates of the exterior layer and slightly damaging the mobile armor itself.

“Now's not the time to be playing bumper cars, Haman,” you tease her.

“Yeah, well... fuck," she says, struggling to find a retort. "I don't even know what those are."

"I'll take you to the boardwalk down in Malibu some time," you reply. "It'll be great. You can wear that sexy bathing suit I bought you."

"How come you never buy ME anything sexy?" Carya asks with mock indignation... shit, was your comm really open that whole time?

"I'm curious," Miyu admits over the comm. "Slightly confused, but curious."

"Stow the chatter," Karen sighs as you approach the airlock into the colony. "Dom, how's it looking?"

You see a dockyard tech wave frantically at the massive airlock doors. "The Gelgoogs have penetrated the interior, Karen. Probably threatened to blow the airlock unless the dock techs let them in."

"Shit," Karen curses. "Get in there quick and take 'em out. We'll keep things from boiling over out here. Don't worry about us, just GO!"

How do you want to approach the Gelgoogs once you get in?

As the technician finally opens the airlock hatch, the Val Varo joins your Lilium. You and Haman pilot both machines into the lock, and the doors slide shut behind you. Air is pumped into the space, until finally the pressure is close enough to equal that the dockmaster gives the all-clear to crack the inner doors.

"Haman?" You look down at the Newtype sitting between your legs.

"Yeah?"

"Send the Val Varo forward along the center axis of the colony. Have it belly-flop onto one of the Gelgoogs," you tell her, imagining the scene.

Haman nods, and you can tell she's grinning/ "With gusto, Dom."

As the Val Varo rockets forward, you push forward yourself, scanning for the Gelgoogs' heat signatures. You quickly find them, and orient yourself so that the surface they're on is 'down'. Your powerful thrusters orient themselves so that all your thrust is pointed straight back, and you quickly gain ground on the two suits...

One of the Gelgoogs lifts its weapon, but Haman slams the Val Varo claws-first into the mobile suit, denying it the chance to fire. The two machines dig into the colony wall in a cloud of dust and dirt, and for good measure Haman uses the Val Varo's nearly 400 ton weight to grind what remains of the Gelgoog into scrap.

The second Gelgoog looses a rocket that spins wildly away from its likely target, the Republic's assembly building, and towards... a school.

A school a lot like the one you used to go to with your siblings on Londenion, and where several of your friends were killed in a Zeon attack.

That your brother graduated from, before that same Zeon attack claimed his life.

You're not even sure when you flipped your cannons into position. You don't even remember laughing at how easy it was to down the missile before it hit the school building, or how the asphalt surface of the street in front of it shattered under the barrage. Your wrist-mounted blade sliced straight through the Gelgoog where it stood, its pilot dumbstruck at the raw ferocity of your assault. Then the blade struck again, splitting the torso of the Gelgoog in half. As one of the chunks of mobile suit fell towards a terrified couple, no doubt on their way home from a late night out drinking, the Lilium-II's foot lashes out and slams into the chunk of debris, sending it in a long arc until it crashes harmlessly into a small wooded hillside.

When you come to, Haman is looking at you with deep concern in her eyes, and you find that for some reason there are tears in yours.

"You're a terrible liar," Haman interrupts quietly.

"All the same," you continue, "now's not the time. We're heading back out. Bring the Val Varo along, let the local security take it from here."

With a powerful leap, you send your Lilium high into the air. As the gravitational forces ease, you find yourself coasting weightless towards the center axis of the colony. Once you reach the exact middle, you kick in with your attitude thrusters and move quickly back to the airlock.

On the side of the colony, you find that your team has things well in hand. The surviving Axis pilots are standing on their opened cockpit hatches with their hands raised as Rossweisse and Audrey keep their rifles trained on them, and Carya and Catrina are recovering the stricken Newtype machine. The black mobile suit still isn't moving.

"Report," Karen prompts you. "Is the threat eliminated?"

"Affirmative," you reply. "Sitrep?"

"The Axis fleet are positioning themselves," Noel informs you. "We have Republic defense forces inbound from the far side of Luna."

"ETA ten minutes," Reiko adds. "They're radioing their apologies: apparently the Fleet had them out patrolling the area around Von Braun and refused to authorize their redeployment."

"Tell them their apology is accepted, and that the initial attack has been stalled," Karen replies coolly. "But keep an eye on those Musais, Anderson, Takizawa."

"Captain!" Miyu shouts. "The Musais are opening fire!"

"Sound collision..." Karen begins before Catherine interrupts.

"They're firing on each other!" she announces. Sure enough, several of the Musais are engaging each other at medium range, with beam cannons scarring one another's hulls. Missiles fly back and forth, some cratering meter-thick armor while others are vaporized by AA emplacements.

"One's breaking off!" Catrina shouts.

Haman's eyes widen as she opens up with the remote beam guns she left out in the field. Audrey, Catrina, and Rosse open up as well, sending munitions and beams flying at the Musai. Even the Valkyrie's anemic turrets do their part, trying their best to down the oncoming cruiser.

"He's heading straight for us!" Noel cries. "Ramming speed!"

"Crazy sonnofa BITCH!" Catrina roars as she unleashes all of the Viola's grenades at once.

To your side you see the last remaining Gelgoog pilot clamber back into their machine in desperation, not even bothering to shut the hatch as they open up on the cruiser as well. Two of the other Zeon pilots follow the gesture.

Won't matter if we split her amidship. Valkyrie and the VV deals with the engine block while we and the team tackle the bow. Redline those thrusters

>>34845014
"Haman!" you order. "Get the Val Varo ready to push any leftover chunks away from the colony!"

"Right!" she replies, sending the mobile armor rushing forward while you train the Hyper Rifles on the Musai's bow.

The first shot cores the vessel, but its momentum continues driving its smouldering, guttering hulk forward. Your second shot vaporizes much of its port side, and your third blasts off much of its starboard side. More fire from your allies destroys section of battle-plate that flake off as the main hull's shattered remnants approach.

Then, the Musai's trajectory changes slightly: Haman presses into the ventral hull of the dead ship and throttles the Val Varo up to full. Even as the front end of the mobile armor crunches from the strain, the Musai's course shifts...

... and the whole pile of slag and plating grazes the outside of the colony wall before continuing on out towards the empty space beyond Lunar orbit. Training your rifles on the hulk, you wait for Haman to give you the heads-up that the Val Varo is out of the way.

"Do it, Dominic," she tells you, and you oblige, emptying your two e-pacs into the back of the Musai's hull until nothing remains but a cloud of slag and gasses.

You doubt any of the debris is any larger than your fist.

A female voice responds. "Do we have a choice?"

"Yeah," you reply quickly, "you can stay out here and asphyxiate."

"Point taken."

The last Gelgoog's pilot pops her hatch and pushes away from her mobile suit, gliding gently into the Lilium-II's open hand. You see her comrades do the same, including the pilot of the black mobile suit.

Aboard the Valkyrie, your machines tuck into their respective gantries as Emary squeals about the extensive damage to the Val Varo. Literally: she's so angry at your abuse of the mobile armor that you're not even sure she's using words.

Two pilots stand out to you: the brash young woman, about your age, who was piloting the Gelgoog takes off her helmet, revealing long, strawberry-blonde hair. She sighs, and holds out her wrists for an MP to handcuff before taking a seat on the deck. She seems... distinctly worried.

The second standout is the mousy-haired woman who was piloting the black mobile suit. As Carya stands next to her, something worries you: Carya is confused and concerned, where you'd say Catrina is a little disturbed. But the newcomer? Nothing. No sense of any emotions whatsoever.

You walk the short distance over to the pink-haired pilot you captured earlier.

"You seem worried about something," you tell her.

She shakes her head. "You're not wrong, but how do you figure."

"I'm a newtype," you explain. "It's common courtesy to introduce oneself before digging around in someone's thoughts."

As she looks at you in horror, you raise your hands defensively. "I'm kidding... jeez, it's like you'd believe anything about us."

The young woman relaxes a little, but still seems on edge. "Newtypes are scapegoats back on Axis," she tells you. "They say a lot of things about what you can do, right up to and including brainwashing."

You laugh loudly to yourself. "Brainwashing? Really?"

"It's how Bernini said you converted Miss Haman."

"Speak of the devil," you reply as Haman pokes her head out from behind a technician she's been talking to about the psycommu system's status.

"Dominic," she greets casually as the prisoner's eyes widen.

"Lady Haman?" she asks incredulously. "What are you doing here?"

"Fighting against you fools," Haman replies with a sudden chill in her voice. "Someone has to stomp out your idiocy before you're allowed to hurt others along with yourselves. I figure it may as well be me."

"A little harsh," you offer. "She did help us with the Musai that tried to ram the colony just a while ago. Oh, and thank you for that, Miss..."

"Pazom," the woman replies. "Ilia Pazom, Lieutenant, Axis Forces."

"Commander Dominic O'Hara, EFSF Special Forces," you reply.

"Ensign Haman Karn, same," Haman adds. "What were you trying to accomplish here, Lieutenant?"

"We were meant to assassinate Prime Minister Bakharov," Pazom explains, "in order to sow chaos and confusion among the Republic leadership. Split them into pro and anti Federation camps."

Haman scoffs at the explanation. "So why try and destroy the colony? What idiot made THAT call?"
(1/2)
>>
>>34846783
"It was the worst-case scenario: disrupt the chain of command and take the Republic out of the fight," the Lieutenant continues. "Privately I assumed nobody would resort to that... it scares me a little how wrong I was."

Haman gives you a look: that look says 'oh look, someone else who gave Zeon too much credit, what are the odds'. Thankfully she doesn't give a voice to those thoughts.

Meanwhile Sayla Mass has been called to the hangar, and approaches the Sisters and their captive. You can feel their combined dismay from here, and more than a little anger surges to the surface as Sayla tells the Sisters something.

>What next?
>>
>>34846844
Ask about the Newtype pilot, and then go check on what's gotten the Sisters and Sayla riled up.
>>
>>34846844

>>

Oh hey, this lady. Neat, we've got one of the "crazy 80's fashion" members of Neo Zeon. Got to love those guys, they're just so colorful.

>>34846844
Right. Let's go head over and see what the fuss is about. Leave Haman to talk with Illia, one pink-haired Zeon lady to another. We should go and ask the twins what about this situation has them so angry we could feel it from the other side of the hangar. What did Axis do to this woman?
>>
>>34846844
Hmm... Chara Soon perhaps?
>>
>>34846976
Go this
Yeah they are something.
>>
>>34846993
I don't think so. Chara Soon can't really be described with terms like "mousy" or "emotionless". Not unless they did some seriously bad things to her in this timeline.
>>
>>34846783
"Can you take care of our guest?" you ask Haman.

She nods. "You'd better not try and escape."

Pazom laughs sadly. "Lady Haman, I just fired on my own fleet. Even if I escaped, I have nowhere in this universe to go anymore."

You turn, leaving the two pink-haired young women to each other's company, and approach the group clustered around the brown-haired prisoner. Rossweisse, her head bandaged after having presumably bashed it in the battle, looks on in discomfort at Sayla as she examines the prisoner.

"Jesus, that could have been me," Rosse mutters softly as you pass. Confused, you look at her over your shoulder: this must have gotten to her. That's the longest sentence you've heard her say in public.

Carrina turns to you, tears pooling in the corners of her violet eyes despite the wrath etched into her face.

"I can't believe this. I knew Newtype research was bad, but this? THIS is too much," she snarls. "Unbelievable."

The brown haired newtype silently attempts to recoil from Carrina, which forces the Sisters to calm themselves somewhat. You can feel a little twinge of shame at their loss of temper.

Sayla turns to face you. "We're going to need to take this young woman down to the sickbay, could you let Karen know?"

"What's the matter?" you ask, dreading the answer. "What did they do to her?"

"She's got more drugs in her than your local pharmacy," Ilia explains from behind you as Haman leads her over by the cuffs.

"Explain," you demand seriously, all attempts at pleasantry for the time discarded. "Now."

"God, I know her," Haman whispers. "She's Lieutenant Fanning, a test pilot."

>>
>>34847322
"Was," Pazom corrects sadly. "Was. After we lost Schnee Weiss and Lady Haman in the raid, Enzo had to start over on the psycommu system. Miniaturizing it led to adverse effects on the pilot's mind. Instead of fixing the thing, I heard a rumor he had drugs administered to the pilots. I hoped that was just a rumor... we were never allowed to actually see the Tusche Schwarz pilots in person."

Pazom turns her face away from Fanning. "I doubt Rebecca Fanning even knows her name anymore, let alone where she is, or who she used to be. All that's left is loyalty to Zeon, and to her now-dead commander."

Haman scowls. "Sieg fucking Zeon." Disturbingly, Fanning... or rather whatever's left of her... tries to salute at the words.

"With a lot of the right kind of help," Sayla tells you, "I hope she can make a partial recovery. But I don't think she'll ever be who she was before."

Audrey, who has come over to see what the crowd was about, voices your whole team's sentiments.

"Hell is empty... and all the devils are here..." she mutters angrily.

Repairs ASAP. Ask the defecting pilots if they want to join our unit or Cima's in her gambit against Delaz. Send a laser comm off to Cima informing her we have possible recruits and material for her to pick up. Ask Cima if she wants to finally get that drink.

Get a status report on the colony condition and assist where we can while we wait for repairs and refit. Officially rechristen our vessel to Ridden Hard.
>>
>>34847669
I disagree with telling them about Cima. We should be as tight-lipped about that as possible. Don't want any of them ousting her in an attempt to get back in favor with the Delaz faction.
>>
>>34847509
Nothing that I don't think won't happen anyway as part of the epilogue. Clean up, repairs, PR with the colony...that sort of thing. Maybe look to see if we can find the remaining bits? As I recall we didn't destroy all of them, we shouldn't leave active materiel lying around like that.

>>
>>34847808
We'll probably be told to sit tight and wait for further orders. We took one hell of a beating even with all of our fancy toys.
>>
>>34847816
The battle itself probably set them back a good deal. Axis is rapidly industrializing, but they still have limited resources. We either destroyed or captured everything they sent at us. Ten ships, dozens of mobile suits, a prototype mobile armor (that never even got to fire a single shot, poor baby) and a brainwashed Newtype pilot. Combine that with the losses they faced during the colony drop attempt, and it's going to take a while before they have the resources to do anything again.
>>
Can we pick up the MA?
>>
>>34847990
Even so it was a pretty impressive feat. Maybe not Amuro levels of impressive but still pretty hard.
>>
>>34848008
Bigger issue is manpower really. They probably have around 25,000 soldiers at this point.
>>
>>34848017
The mobile armor we reduced to molten metal? Probably not.
>>
>>34847509
Once the Republic ships were on site, and once the four captured pilots were tucked away in the Valkyrie's brig, Karen set course for Earth orbit. When you arrived, you could readily see the terrible cost of the battle: while the colony drop was averted, the damage to both sides was severe. The Albion was badly damaged, and two of the Four Musais left behind by Admiral Kirikov were lost, with 19 of their 25 GMs. Yu Kajima, the Blue Death, made a strong showing, and managed to survive the battle. Three damaged Salamis and the carrier Gray Phantom were lost, the latter with some survivors. The Gray Phantom came down in one structurally sound piece, but was too far gone to be repaired.

Dendrobium Orchis was destroyed, but the Stamen survived. Defrah was responsible for inflicting heavy casualties on the Delaz fleet. Gundam GP-01 was damaged while inflicting moderate casualties: Kou and Defrah together earned the nicknames "the Unknown Aces" for their success.

Defrah, however, was badly wounded when you pulled her machine aboard the Valkyrie.

"I knew you were busy," she told you as Sayla bandaged up her many lacerations and treated the third-degree burns to her side, "but I knew you'd drop in sooner or later."

Good thing you did, too: another twenty minutes and she would have suffocated.

In an embarrassing showing, the 49 combat-ready ships of the EFSF fleet showed up even later than you did, and the superweapon intended for use against the errant colony was never fired. A crew from one of the Musais managed to board and divert the colony, thus ending the threat.

>>
>>34848079
Wait, we had Musai's?
>>
>>34848079
The Delaz fleet was in shambles by the time you arrived. They had deployed a SECOND Neue Ziel unit alongside another Tusche Schwarz: both of which were totaled in the fight after dealing heavy losses to the EFSF mobile suit contingent. When you got to them there were only four Musais left, and about 20 mobile suits, all beating a hasty retreat.

The first few EFSF regular forces to arrive, however, find a dilemma: Cima has apparently sprung her plan into action, turning on the Delaz fleet and taking over the Gwanban Delaz had used for a flagship. Her former command ship, the Lili Marleen, and a single Musai, along with a little less than a dozen Gelgoog Marines, are currently locked in a standoff with three Salamis class ships. Neither side has fired yet.

>>
>>34848206
Cloning is out as a way to rapidly build an army, it's faster than natural maturation but not that fast. But mobile dolls...I can see that happening. Axis is doing a lot of work on quasi-psycommu systems, which are at their basic level just AI control systems. Developing it into fully autonomous mobile suits seems like a plausible research path.

>>34848291
>>Try and pursuade Cima to stand down and perhaps join you (write-in required)

First off, vouch for her first to the admirals. A show of good faith.

"Cirma, first, what do you intend to do with your fleet? Be pirates or be mercenaries? Look at your fleet, a zanbizar class, a squadron of musais and now this flagship, backed up by veteran MS pilots and loyal crew. Few forces right now could stand up to yours, hell you might even be able to conquer side 3 for yourself.

But how long will that last? Even with how you've helped us, the EFSF will have to come after you eventually. It will take a while and we will definitely take heavy losses in doing so but mind you it will happen some time or later.

Instead, how about joining us? With the state of the current fleet, we're truthfully hurting for reinforcements. With your fleet, even a flag rank might be possible, considering your actions today. That and safe refuge for you ane your crews. I'm sure they've spent too long in the vast reaches of space."

"Wow, you took Delaz's ship, Cima? Impressive. Please tell me you got Delaz, too. Come on board the Valkyrie, you can share the story over that drink I owe you. Seriously though, Cima, stand down. I get it, you value your independence and don't trust the Federation. But trying to shoot your way out of this isn't going to end well for you. Even with the damages we've suffered we still outgun you. Besides, there's still Delaz Fleet remnants to deal with, if you want to follow this through to the end you'll need help. You don't have to knuckle under and join us, but at least keep working with us for a little longer."
>>
>>34848291
Standing on the bridge of the Valkyrie, you look down at Ensign Anderson.

"Noel, patch us through to all four ships," you request.

"Aye," she responds, handing the headset over to Karen.

When the connection is established, Karen is the first to speak. "This is Captain Joshua of the Valkyrie, stand by for Commander O'Hara, Special Forces branch."

"Here you go, Dom." She hands you the headset.

"Attention all Federation ships," you announce. "The ship you see has been commandeered by Captain Cima Garahau, in a deal made between herself and the late Admiral Wyatt. I was personally privy to the arrangement, and Admiral Kowen will also support what I say."

"Cima, we've seen enough death and destruction in the name of vengeance today, haven't we?"

Cima's face is projected on the screen in front of Noel. "What are you trying to say, boy? That you would deny me my revenge?"

You shake your head as your crewmates, especially Carya and Catrina, look on with interest. "This path will only take you so far, Cima. Instead, I'd ask that you consider joining the Republic's forces. Instead of spending your life in pursuit of vengeance against Zeon, try spending it in defense of what Zeon could have been... what it SHOULD have been. I can guarantee you, you'll still end up fighting against Bernini, but for the right reasons instead of your own selfish and self-destructive need for revenge."

Cima seems to ponder your words for a moment. "Your words have some wisdom in them, young man. I suppose playing at being the good guys could not hurt too badly. Perhaps the pretending might even lead to something more earnest."

"Kindly place a call with your Admiralty," she concludes. "I will discuss my terms of cooperation."

Karen quickly orders Miyu to make the call.

Today is December 4th, UC 0083, and your team is finally getting to relax a bit. After taking a trip to the Malibu pier, where you force-marched your senior staff and pilots through the sights and attractions, you finally stop in at a Denny's diner, of all places. Large stacks of pancakes and eggs and bacon cover the table as you all try and cram into a booth, mostly in your swimming attire. Carya and the new bikini you bought her are practically sitting in your lap for lack of space: you even brought Ilia Pazom along, albeit with a shock collar around her neck for assurance purposes.

"Hey, the news!" Audrey says excitedly. "Let's see if we're in it again!"

The whole table listens carefully as the anchor announces the formation of a new EFF special forces organization: simply called 'Titans'. The justification is given as being due to the attacks by Delaz, as well as unrest in some of the colonies. Side 3 Prime Minister Bakharov was sacked in late November, and rumblings have suggested that especially after the Axis refugees arrived on November 22nd, the Republic was considering unilateral increases to its defense forces. Even just the addition of Cima and her captured battleship was a major boon for Side 3's armed forces. Due to the death of the only Admiral who had direct dealings with her, however, the Federation is officially skeptical of Cima Garahau and her surviving supporters.

Interestingly, your team was called on the 22nd to escort the refugee fleet into Side 3, but Char was nowhere to be found. Haman seemed a little disappointed, but insisted that she had "only wanted to crack his jaw".

"With Side 3's independent streak stirring, and after the poor showing of the EFSF, it's understandable that the political status quo would be shaken up," Reiko comments.

"But a new military branch?" Miyu asks, shaking her head. "Really?"

"And the Riah Kingdom of all places talking about forming its own "Republican Guard"?" Karen adds.
(1/2)
>>
>>34849237
Wait, what about Haman's little sister? Serena Karn was supposed to be among the refugees, too. Is she alright? Did she disappear along with Char and Natalie?

FINALLY

>Titans

It begins.
>>
>>34849237
>Republican Guard
Now it begins.
>>
>>34849235
Dom's OYW kills were like in the 50's which is less than half of Amuro's.

Note that I'm only contrasing their OYW kills, since Dom's been on active duty constantly, and Amuro's under house arrest.

Amuro was the second highest scoring Feddie ace during the OYW IIRC, only losing to that no-name asshole Tenneth A. Jung.

*By no-name I mean that he only really appears in MS-V, and pretty much nothing else, I am aware of the fact he does indeed, have a name.
>>
>>34849237
Oh, no meet up with Char? Darn, I was looking forward to trolling him. "Hey there, guy whose name I refuse to remember. Since last we spoke, I hooked up with the girl that, although you did not reciprocate her romantic interest in you, you did care for a great deal. My penis has been inside her. Oh, and it's a polygamous relationship, there are three other girls involved in this. So what's been going on with you?"
>>
>>34849367
No Char or Ridden jokes in front of (the real) Ridden please. He's had a hard career.
>>
>>34849358
Dom hadn't awakened as a Newtype until the last battle of the war, though, whereas Amuro had it from midway through. So that tips the scales a bit.
>>
>>34849410
Also, Gundam vs GM sniper.
>>
>>34849410
I wonder what our legitimate secret newtype power is. I'm surprised it hasn't come up yet. Unless it was the prophetic dream. I hope it wasn't the prophetic dream. Tears of Cassandra are bunk.
>>
If we're recruited for Titan duty we run and head for Jupiter.
>>
>>34849237
"Look," Haman observes grimly, pointing at an image of a new GM-type machine supposedly being fielded by the new Titans organization.

"QUEL," Catrina mutters. "Shit. Shitshitshitshit..."

"What's wrong with that?" Noel asks, confused.

Catherine shrugs. "It's kind of a dumb name, but that's hardly worth swearing over."

"It's the name of a machine we saw the dossiers for," Carya recounts. "The first units were apparently being planned and built before the Delaz fleet attacked."

"Wait..." Karen mutters quietly, leaning in so as not to be overheard. "You can't be implying..."

"Suit," you observe quietly, noticing a man in uniform approaching your booth. He had a square jaw, little or no hair, and the freakiest glasses you've seen in a good, long time. He practically radiates seriousness and ambition, and not in a particularly good way. "Act natural."

Your teammates return to their stacks of pancakes as if nothing was happening, and Carya makes it a point to cutely shovel a chunk of delicious syrupy goodness into your mouth, giving a practically unmissable sense of a young couple very much in love.

Which you were, it's just that now she's making a deliberate, almost saccharine show of the whole thing.

"Captain Joshua? Commander O'Hara? Crew of the Valkyrie?" the older-looking officer addresses you. "I'm Captain Bask Om. I have an offer I think you'll want to hear."

>END STARDUST MEMORY ARC
>>
>>34849463
FUCK
>>
>>34849453
Nope. GM Sniper II is just a less armored Gundam with a highpower sniper rifle. The suits even out.
>>
>>34849463
>I have an offer I think you'll want to hear

RUN. FUCKING CRAZY IVAN.
>>
The Riah Kingdom it prat federation again?
>>
>>34849463
Yeah, what's with those glasses? Are you a cyborg, Bask? Because those look like they're part of your face.
>>
>>34849511
Speak english
>>
>>34849282
She's probably with Char. He's the type who would set up something to make sure Natalie and Serena were well and truly out of the way then proceed not to be bothered with either of them until he had a use for them

Save us, Paptimus!
>>
>>34849463
We need to call Bask Om 'Riddick' at least once in this quest.
>>
>>34849463
Damn it all to hell, Bask Om approaching us to make a "deal" which is mostly like non-negotiable.
>>
>>34849463
YES!
>>
>>34849562
You fools. We should have just defected with Cima.
>>
>>34849463
And that's where I leave you for now. Archive is already up.

In the next arc, it's all about the "three P's": politics, prototypes, and Purus

Hope to see you all next week, and thanks for playing!
>>
>>34849618
What's the Riah kingdom? does it have anything to do with the Riah republic?
>>
>>34849618
It's been great so far. Can't wait for the next arc. How big of a time-skip are we talking here?
>>
>>34849618
Yay Purus! Boo that we probably made things worse for the Purus by capturing Haman forcing them to do horrible drugs to make cyber-newtypes.
>>
>>34849618
Thanks for running, Hearts. This was a good thread, and I'm excited to see where we go next. Not to say I haven't felt that way throughout, but this was a particularly good one. See you next time.
>>
Our chances of being mind raped have jumped exponentially.

>>34849618
Who had the remote for the shock collar?
>>
join the Titans, take over the Titans.
I thought that the Riah Kingdom was part of the federation again?
>>
>>34849749
>join the Titans, take over the Titans
We're going to have to gas a colony before the opportunity to space everyone appears. Nope.
>>
I really hope Axis doesn't bring the EXAM system back. Things are already spiraling out of control. Hell, they could probably mass produce it now with the cyber newtypes they'll be churning out.
>>
>>34849749
That's what I'm thinking. We can flee the Titans if we have to, but for now we should at least try to steer them away from supervillainy. We're non-evil Paptimus Scirocco, we have a shot at it.
>>
>>34849749
It is. At this point, the leadership is starting to question its reliance on the Federation.

At this rate, there may be as many as nine factions active at the time of your "Gryps-equivalent".
>>
>>34849749
It got annexed in the OTL around this time. Presumably, the attack on the Republic on Zeon killed the federations chances to annex it. The real question is, what kind of mobile suits will they use.
>>
>>34849799
Don't worry, they can't because they don't (shouldn't) have the data for the Blue Destiny series.

But, you know who does?
>>
>>34849799
You can actually make as many EXAM systems as you want with just one Newtype brain. The reason that only a few were ever made in canon wasn't because of limited resources but because Nimbus Schertzen wanted to keep it to himself. He destroyed all of the production capability for them.
>>
>>34849822

shiiiit.

Well at least we have plenty of friends everywhere.
>>
>>34849801
Yes I thought the same. We sued try.
>>
>>34849822
Principality, Republic, Riah, Titans, Federation and Anti-Titans are the only ones I can think of. I suppose Char might be up to something as well, but that only gives us 7

Just dropping in to say Rossweisse is best girl. Our brothers and sisters in GBFQ agree as well.
>>
>>34849827
I hope the Federations get a chances to annex it, that and RoZ.
>>
>>34849871
Kowen, Cima, Char, Nina, Karen's connections, our magical hobo's (former) connections, South, tons of Federation and Zeon soldiers we've saved. Our rep is solid as a reliable, honest soldier. Better keep it that way if we want to recruit people when the gas starts flying.
>>
>>34849827
>Riah secretly stole Alex data after 0080
>Makes Tierens so tanky it's like fighting mass-produced The Os
>>
>>34849939
Jupiter, maybe?
>>
It's funny, after the fleet got nuked, we all thought we were going to have to flee EFF and the Titans, now they're trying to recruit us.

>My faces when we out-Scirocco Scirocco and seize the Titans for ourselves.
>>
>>34849956
Ross is love. A Haman is fine too, however.
>>
>>34849962
We kinda deliberately sabotaged that.
>>34849983
And Anaheim. They count as their own faction.
>>
>>34849956
I know it was my suggestion, still feels good!
>>
>>34850031
True. Though Anaheim mostly stays neutral and will just sell to anyone who's buying, so we don't have to worry about them too much.
>>
>>34849994
Yes that what am saying! Ross is love and life!
>>
>>34850058
Vist foundation says Hi. Also, a resurgent RoZ probably means that Zonic company or one of their competitors will get reconstituted, draining their employees from Anaheim.
>>
>>34849980
But would that really help any? Outside of The O, armour's shown to have pretty much no effect on beam weapons.

My fan-theroey is that The O's involves some kind of Anti-Beam Coating, hence the colour, and maybe some kind of plywood type construction which would allow it to have mutiple layers of Coating.
>>
>>34849994
>now they're trying to recruit us
Exactly why we need to run away. In order to takeover, we need to follow the demand of Jewish caricature.
>>
>>34849994

We have to join though.

At least on the inside, the Titan uniform will lend us power when we intervene. We've seen how they treat Amuro and Bright.
>>
>>34850136
I think that might be canon, actually. The O is stated to have a very different internal structure than a normal mobile suit. You can kind of see it in how the panels on its legs separate. I wouldn't be surprised if that modified structure lets it absorb the energy of a beam shot more easily.
>>
I've been thinking. At this rate, if we manage to keep Haman and her zeonic defectors, we might want to start letting her lead a squad herself.

Begin a second squad on the Valk or whichever ship we'll be on.

Start her with an honour guard, since at this rate she might have to come clean and raise the banner of a faction.
>>
>>34850167
I know we can take it over! No federation civic war!
>>
>>34850188
I dunno, I don't think the girls are going to want anything to do with the Titans.
>>
>>34850136
No, the armor is just very, very thick and layered Gundarium alloy. Seeing as that Riah has Chobham armor plans, I won't be surprised if they come up with a Gundarium/Chobham composite. Hence, the comparison to Tieren/The O hybrids.
>>
>>34850242
It might not be an offer we can refuse.
>>
>>34850236
We'll defect the moment Jamaican gasses a colony and Jamitov refuses to let us behead him.

Maybe we could team up with Yazan for that teamkill.
>>
>>34850249
>The O

We'll haft to capture it and modify the thing so it only responds to our voice. We summon it by shouting "ITS SHOWTIME!".
>>
>>34850288
No a Titans civil war.
>>
>>34850298
hahaha, yes.
>>
>>34850340
That's still a Federation civil war. There's literally no way to take out the Titans without one.
>>
>>34850288
Yazan on our team...On the one hand, he'd violate us. On the other hand, he's probably the most skilled Oldtype pilot in the world. This is a tough one.
>>
>>34850396
Recruit from with in to join us too?
>>
>>34850414
We've gotta recruit South too.

>we will never bring South in on the conspiracy
>>
>>34850414
Yazan is practically a saint in the Titans.

Gas colonies? He tells you to fuck off.
Incompetent commander? Time to frag him before he frags everyone and blames the little guys.
Violation? Only if you're the enemy. Instead, he'll just molest you.
>>
>>34850462

South will stay fucking far away from titans
>>
>>34850568
They join the Titans right?
>>
>>34850626
The Albion's crew does in canon, but we've changed things so much I don't know what will happen.
>>
>>34850626

Kou's team never ever joined the titans
>>
You know, we're overlooking the most important question. Who had the remote for the shock control? Was it Dom or Haman?
>>
>>34850678
>control
>collar

Damnit autocorrect.
>>
>>34850678
Why not both?
>>
>>34850704
Eh, it works either way. And I'm going to go with Haman.
>>
>>34850678

Probably haman
>>
>>34850670
Speaking of Kou, he isn't being court martialed and Nina isnt a bitch so he should be around more in the future.
>>
>>34850858
Yeah, It's kind of neat how we've made a universe in which Nina stayed reasonable and likable the whole time through. She even remained friendly with us after we killed Gato. I like it.
>>
Someone should make a list on all the things we change.
>>
>>34850496
Yazan was only against gassing because it didn't let him get up close and personal with the killing.
