It doesn't take long for you to realize there is one way you could use her help, and it is actually pretty important. “You know Ryuu Hauko, the one horned oni you mentioned before?”

“That's his name? How dumb.” She rolls over in place, somehow managing to stay across your lap and you automatically start combing out her long white hair. As she lays across your lap.

“Well, I won't disagree. But if you could keep him and his followers out of my hair for the rest of the day, that would be perfect. I do have a couple of ideas about how I can help you with your problem, but it won't be soon, just because they're ideas. I have to find out a few things before I can be sure. I'll give it my best, though.”

Rie purrs and her tails swish back and forth slowly. “M'kay. Do you care what happens to him?”

…..Er Yin is the only one here, and she's clearly pragmatic about certain things, as Kiku-chan's story explained in detail. Rie's question is casual, but she's no spirit-child. Youkai don't have restrictions on killing with their powers like you do, so she might go to extreme lengths. Then again, she might just lead him down a few alleys.

Apparently Rie agrees, because she turns her head slightly and opens one chartreuse eye to gaze at you flatly. “But you don't care what I do to him?”

You hesitate, then shrug. “Not really, but he's a Ryo-trained fire oni-child, so I don't know that you'd really be able to kill him.

“Mmm. Oni. Meaty,” she quips and Er Yin holds her sleeve over her mouth, her nervous smile evident behind her figners “Okay. No killing the people with him, no hurting the humans. Just keep him busy.” Rolling out of your lap Rie stands up and stretches, her tails sticking out straight and then curling over. “M'kay. And don't forget the takoyaki. 'S good.”

Before you can respond she leaps over the railing, already a cat by the time she is on the other side of the patio railing and falling fearlessly to the ground below. You don't bother getting up – she'll most likely be gone. “Well, so much for meditation,” you murmur, sighing.

We were intending to ask about it, but the interaction of the characters was such that we didn't get a chance to bring it up, so we obviously didn't ask. It's probably just there for the record. Don't think this is the first time something like this has happened.

I vote that we challeng Goto to a Sumo match.

He may be strong, but having limited room to move will hinder him worse than us. Also, it's ironic and fitingly humiliating

You can't help but smile. “You don't have to ask me permission for that sort of thing. You know what you need to do as well as I do, and keeping Kiku-chan safe should come first for you anyways.” She shakes her head mildly and starts to protest but you interrupt her. “I only expect you to let me know if you learn or decide anything important to us all, Er Yin-sensei, and to make sure I can protect all of you.” Another thought occurs to you. “Perhaps you and she could craft some protections for us, some charms or talismans.”

She lowers her head, looking slightly amused. “Hai, Ryukusa-sama. I will bear it in mind.”

You stand up and place your fingers on her shoulder as her tail slips to the floor, finally relaxing. “They're probably waiting on us too. And I'm hungry.” She rises slowly, and her hand slips up along your belly, making you shudder slightly, your eyes closing. “That....isn't the kind of hunger I meant, Er Yin-sensei.”

“No, but you feel lovely. Silk is very suitable for you.” Her hand slides up, and she moves close, her tail sliding around your legs and up your your leg, all the way to your hip. “Very much so.” Her hands slide along your sides, and you shiver again, the feel of those cool talons along silk extraordinarily exotic. You feel your cheeks heating up a little as you realize that most people usually see you in the jeans and dress shirts caressing someone in silk.

That is truly decadent.” You laugh a little breathlessly as her tail wraps around your legs slowly, the cool tip dancing along your other thigh lightly.

You reach up slowly, your eyes closing as her hands explore your firm breasts boldly, yet slowly, neither squeezing or pinching, but simply caressing with firm strokes. She shudders as you slip your thumbs into the cupped curls of her horns, and grasp them gently, your breath quickening. Arching your back slightly you present your breasts for her, and she obliges, lightly drawing her thumbs along your taut nipples as she kisses the side of your neck in a deliciously languid manner.

Her tail slides up higher, wrapped around your thighs, then along your back, supporting you as your knees start to buckle. Her soft, warm laugh is gentle and you pull her mouth to yours with her horns, muffling whatever she was planning to say next with a deep, intimate kiss. You trace her tail with yours, following its length around your legs to her back, and lay the flatness of your fin along her lower back, as your tail slides snakelike around the base of hers. It takes another few minutes for you both to calm down, and without speaking you open the door and blinds for her, your head still spinning a touch. Akari and Yui are setting out the last few dishes and plates, and everyone else is sitting down – Kiki-hime's eyes sparkling as you walk in together, her tail lashing in amusement. Pointless note to self, never cheat: Kiki-hime has a sex detector.

Lunch is cold today – cold zaru soba soup, sashimi and sushi, thin sliced prosciutto (why did you even HAVE that?) wrapped about mozzarella balls, and sticky rice balls with pickles. Jinyuu-onee-sama has joined everyone at the table, and the talk is soft and yet you feel warm inside, content as you sit down. The chorus of 'thank you for the food' is heartwarming, and Kiki-hime smiles at your contented expression.

Yui-chan and Kiki-hime share their newly learned skills with your older sister, and Kiku-chan fumes cutely as Kiki-hime explains that the delicate dragonette nearly went for an unauthorized swim. You share the story of how you and Akari trained, and how she destroyed more practice targets in three months than anyone else did that entire year. Er Yin shares how she learned to wrestle by being confined in a monastery with unchained, uncaged tigers, which Yui begs you to do to her, to the amusement of most everyone.

As lunch winds down, and thanks are said, Er Yin speaks up. “I did finish some gifts for everyone. But they are for Ryukusa-sama to give out.” She takes something out of ~Nowhere~ and hands the small cloth carefully to Kiku-chan, who walks over and places it on the table next to you.

You open the cloth to reveal the five tiny jade talismanic animals that were made from the remnants of Akari's shattered mask after the rings were made by Kiki-hime. They remain the waxy looking black jade, but there is a distinct shine within them, an unseen aura. They are also now made into earrings, hung from silver beaded chains attached to hooks.

“They will help protect us from the power of the Void, especially from the powers of second sight and divination spells, but also the more simple curses and spells. They will not completely protect one, but wearing them will help.” Er Yin's words are accompanied by the awareness – not really a thought or telepathic message – that there is a different one for you that Er Yin and Kiku would like to give you privately. Toad (the invulnerable, the calm), Lizard (the swift, the clever), Scorpion (the powerful, the secretive), Centipede (the vicious, the silent), and Snake (the deadly, the wise).

“Let's clear the table first, and then we can deal with these,” you suggest, buying yourself a small amount of time as you stand and start gathering plates – and sneaking a caress of your wife's back with your tail as you do so. Her tiny squeak is gratifying – you know understand why Akari does it all the time to Yui, especially with that deep blush on Kiki-hime's pale cheeks.

Kiku and Jinyuu join you, while Akari and Yui discuss which ear they're going to pierce on the oni-chick. You and Akari had your ears pierced early on, and Kiki-hime will have to have hers pierced again. Er Yin sits patiently, listening to everything going on around her, her expression slightly sad.

You lean close and whisper softly to her, “Don't worry, I've already thought of that, Er Yin-sensei. We'll have you doing chores in no time.” It's an issue you've been considering in the back of your head, and you plan on fixing it the next restless night. Because you're still not tired.

A slight smile and a nod of acknowledgement is all Er Yin gives you, but it is enough, and she looks a little more relaxed as she waits in her seat. As for the rest, you are all quickly finished with the clean up and everyone sits down once more, though Jinyuu-onee-sama remains standing at the counter and watching, cradling a cup of tea in her hands.

You gather them in your hand and stand up, laying the cloth in the middle of the table. “I was trying to decide who would receive which one, but I realized that the chances of me making the right choices are like, a billion to one. So....whichever is nearest to you is yours, unless you want to trade with someone else.” Before anyone can protest or say anything you simply drop the precious jade talismans onto the chamois cloth, letting them scatter as they will. Yui leans forward curiously and Kiku-chan glares at you like you're an idiot, but no real menace there.

The glistening gems shine, and Kiki-hime picks up the beautiful little Toad, admiring it; the nature of the Toad as a symbol of wealth as well as invulnerability makes it appropriate, you think, and she certainly seems satisfied. Yui picks up the Centipede, while Akari picks up the Snake, and then they look at one another and with bright smiles immediately hand each other their talismans. Kiku-chan picks up the one that fell before Er Yin and murmurs softly to her, telling her which she has inherited the Scorpion by the will of the Kamuy, placing it gently in her mistress' ear, then informing Er Yin she has received Lizard for herself which she then places in her ear.

The fact that they fell in such appropriate places is more than a little concerning.

“Kiki-hime, Akari, Yui, why don't you go take care of the piercings. I'll see if we can have matches made for them as well, when it's safe to do so.” You smiles and fold the chamois cloth and return to to Er Yin. Jinyuu-onee-sama smiles and sets down at the table once again. “You have something for me, Er Yin, Kiku-chan?”

“Yes, aniki-dragon,” Kiku-chan informs you as you wince. She takes a necklace out of her sleeve, one that seems familiar, though you've never seen it before. “This one is for you.” She places the blue-and-green bead necklace before you; it bears a white jade matagama upon it, the glistening stone shaped like the number nine. It takes you a moment to place it.

“This is the tamasay that they gave you to protect you from Er Yin's magic, isn't it?” You take the beautiful necklace and hold the gem in your hand. You can feel it's power, and more importantly, you can feel its AWARENESS of you....it's well over a hundred years old, meaning it has its own kami!

You blink, staring at the beautifully crafted bead work, the glistening, perfectly polished milk-white gem. Kiku-chan had told you she was certain that Japanese people sympathetic to the Ainu had crafted these beads, and the power of the necklace was meant to protect the wearer against powerful sorcery from another land. “Kiku-chan....I shouldn't accept this, this is part of your history, your life. Are you certain that this is what you want?”

To your surprise, instead of her hair bursting into flaming life, she looks down and blushes, Er Yin is smiling, your words apparently amusing to her. “Bakayaro-dragon....Gin-Gin is my mistress, but you are my husband....a miko is married to the kamuy or kami they serve....” Her voice is low and her tail is thrashing quite quickly, while her hands are fighting together under her sleeves.

“My Hougyoku-chan is saying that it is her dowry to you, Ryukusa-sama. She is giving it to you as more than merely a protection, but as an offering.” Er Yin's voice is gentle, and she slides her hand along Kiku-chan's back, gently holding her shoulder as Kiku-chan blushes more and more deeply.

You go to your knees before Kiku-chan and bow your head for her. “Then of course I must accept it, with great honor, from the hands of my beloved priestess, my miko-Kiku-chan.” Her bright golden eyes snap to your face, and she seems a bit taken aback by the solemnity there; you can see the faint steam rising from her eyes.

Kiku-chan takes the necklace from the table, in both hands, and bows twice. She places it over your neck, carefully, and then claps her hands sharply twice, and speaks in that harsh, polytonal language she and Er Yin share – Ainu, undoubtedly. She claps her hands twice more: you feel the spark of power ignite in the necklace, the kami waking and alert. With two more bows she finishes the ritual, and Er Yin nods slightly to you.

“Thank you, Kiku-chan,” you murmur, smiling. She looks down shyly and tells you very quietly that it is her duty and her pleasure, the formal words so soft you can barely hear them. You smile wider and she fidgets, looking away from you....while you wait....and wait....until she finally looks at you.

GRAB!

She squeals quite loudly as you snuggle her, rubbing your cheek against hers as she squirms, her tail thrashing dangerously close to the table and Er Yin, who blocks with her own tail a few times. Jinyuu-onee-sama is laughing behind a fan, softly, and the others step out into the living room. Yui groans softly. “Fine, I do your dishes, Akari-chan.”Akari just looks faintly smug.

Kiki-hime is smiling, her eyes warm and content as her older sister relents and lets you snuggle with her. “Stupid grabby lizard,” Kiku-chan mutters under her breath, her face hot enough to scald the unprotected in her blush. You kiss her cheek and finally let go of her and she looks down, totally embarrassed still.

“Now that we have taken care of that, it's time we were on our way,” you tell your family. Their expressions become serious, save for Er Yin. Jinyuu looks more worried than anything else. “We'll be going to a park I know, at the edges of Tokyo, safely away from any bystanders and any of the Clan territories. We'll start on outdoor training and getting Kiki-hime used to her power....and Er Yin-sensei is going to conjure Ryuu Wakaba for us. And then....” You look at your family seriously.

“And then we will see how bad things really are.”

No. I can read a 700 page small print book in 8-10 hours. Reading a thread on /tg/ takes me minutes.

I stopped because I'm trying to keep my heart rate under 100 bpm and the xanax is wearing off meaning I have to do it myself which takes a lot of attention.
