You are Lilith, fourth daughter of Lord Erwin III, King of the Grand Forest.Your child hood was filled with tales of the brave Knights that rose up and fought of the evil that once ensnared your home so many years ago, and you have decided to run away from your noble upbringing to pursue your dream of being like them one day. With your faithful pet Charmander that you have raised since you were a little girl by your side, you feel anything is possible. You've made it to Emerald Lake, but there seems to be more here than meets the eye...

Part 2: Electric Boogaloo
ou decide to sit in silence as the boat approaches the island. The sky is clear and beautiful, full of stars, all encircling a bright full moon. The emerald waters around you only reflect the beauty further. Before you know it, you're so entranced by it that you don't even notice the boat dock, or Alan and Odo get off. However, you do feel the nudge on your shoulder, with Odo offering a hang out. "Please, join us on the island."

The red gem dangles around his neck in his stopped position, before taking your hand and helping you off the boat. You walk over to Alan, who is holding his head. "I think I'm getting a headache." The sounds of the ceremony are indeed louder than before, but you feel the singing is rather pleasant, and that perhaps Alan just can't hold his liquor. He follows you regardless, looking more at Charmander's tail light than anything else. Charmander himself on the other hand, is thoroughly enjoying the new sights and sounds, despite the momentary terror of riding a boat.

As you walk down a winding path through the woods, the singing grows closer and closer, until Odo pushes aside a branch to reveal the full coronation. The Priestess is standing in front of an alter that overlooks the water on a small cliff, with a Golduck by her side. The crowd is composed by several familiar faces from town, such as the Old Man from the Inn, and several of the gloomier bar patrons. However, they were dressed in blue robes, with a red gem worn on their persons, all singing around a rock circle painted blue, with grooves carved into it in eccentric shapes. You see Alan is holding his head tighter, his headache seemingly increasing in pain.
>>
>>34751234
It is not until you hear the singing stop that you realize Odo is no longer by your side, and that the crowd of onlookers is looking directly at you and your companions. Their smiles are as warm and friendly as that of the Priestess on the alter, however you notice an odd shape covered by a sheet behind her. "I'm so glad you you could make it! Surely with your added support, Kyogre will hear our plees and bless us with rain and fish once again." The entire group cheers heartily, but fall silent as she continues to speak. "How about we get started, while the moon is high, and Kyogre's power is at its fullest!"

This time the cheers continue, as she reaches behind her to pull on the sheet, ripping it off to reveal a Girafarig, bound and gagged, placed on top the alter, its main head unconscious. The Priestess looks back to you, her smile as genuine as ever. "I thank you for coming, we really couldn't do this without you. Please, join us on the island." As she speaks, the gem on her head and Golduck's lights up, before the gems all around lighting up, causing the entire crowd to speak as one, your voice included.

However, you feel Charmander scratch through the back of the necklace, the glowing red gem fall tot he ground. You looks around to see the smiling faces, and Alan clutching his head in pain, and the Girafarig tied to the altar

You see Alan's pained state, and decide to whisper to Charmander to help him out in the same way, but you knew he would need a distraction to be able to sneak over with so many eyes on you. The second the orange lizard let go of your back, your hand fell down to your sword hilt, and you drew your blade and charged. The Golduck next to the priestess glowed with the same red hue as the beads you had been made to wear, so it seemed only natural for it to be your target.

However, as you charged the smiles on the people's faces refused to diminish, as the Golduck's eyes glowed with Psychic energy, before a glowing blast shot towards you. You needed to react.

You realize how little you know of Pokemon attacks, and how you're not even sure your tiny shield would be capable of deflecting such a blast. You also realize that charging through something that unknown would be a danger in and of itself. SO you sidestep out of the way, however your movements are just a little too slow, as you feel the impact of a punch from thin air glance off your shoulder. The pain is noticeable, but you can't slow down now. You have to keep the momentum going.

The faces of the crowd have followed you move, as their smiles continue. The smile of the priestess is the most infuriating at all. You see the glowing blue gems that adorn her dress, and can swear you see them flickering, however the Golduck remains ever present in your sights. The previous attack seems to have exhausted it momentarily, giving you a perfect opportunity to strike.

Roll (7,8,9 = 24)
You decide to jump with all your might, striking with your rapier at the Golduck with a practiced thrust. Your blade effortlessly ignores the Pokemon's rushed defenses, to easily pierce its right shoulder, your blade easily piercing its amphibious skin. As you quickly withdraw the blade, the wound seeps a little blood. If it had been a human opponent, his blade arm would be all the harder to use, but you were not sure how well that logic translated to fighting monsters.

As you see the Golduck grimace in pain, you here a call out from behind you. Its Alan's voice, indicating that Charmander must have freed him from the bead's control. "Lilith! Its Tainted, get away!"

(Roll 1,1,8 = 1 {Critical Fail})
Before you can react to that statement, you see the red gem on the creature's forehead turn a soft purple, and the red blood from the wound suddenly oozing black vile instead. You attempt a parry stance, but its too late, as its head connects directly with your abdomen with a violent force, sending you staggering back a few steps off the altar.

You see the priestess smirking down at you, the jewels on her dress glowing vibrantly now. "Now, be patient. You'll be next, right after your Girafarig. So just have a seat." You hear the crowd around you echo "Have a seat." Before you notice her eyes take on a blue glow, as a torrent of murky water begin to rise behind her.

You brace yourself as the muddy water crashes into you, pushing you back towards Alan and Charmander, both quick to help you to your feet. As you shake steadily, you see the Golduck exude a black aura from its forehead, prompting the beads around the others in attendance to glow dark purple. The smiles on their faces seemed to twist into malevolent smirks, as they turned their attention to the Girafarig on the altar.

The priestess began to raise an ornate knife, embedded into its handle were a ruby, sapphire, and emerald. She began to chant, which seemed to translate to the followers, prompting a chorus to eerily chant Kyrogre's name and plead for his attention. It was clear that the intent was to sacrifice your Pokemon, and if you didn't hurry, you would be sacrificed next.

Lilith {10,5,8}
Alan{3,2,9}
Charmander{4,10,2}

You looks to Charmander, growling at the person holding the knife over its new friend. However, you give him a nod to affirm him that you would handle the Priestess, and that the Golduck would be his responsibility. His growl intensifies. You look back to see Alan flipping through his grimoire, and seems to be more than capable. Turning your attention to the priestess, you ready your blade and charge.

It only takes a second to make it to the top of the altar. Golduck notices your approach, but by then Charamdner is already blocking its attention. You hear words spew from Alan's mouth in that strange foreign tongue, before a soft glow surrounds the fire-type. However, you see your target before you and strike, knocking the ornamental knife out of the woman's hands, only her own blood dripping onto the stone altar alone. The blade itself falls harmlessly to your feet, which you lay a foot directly on top of, keeping your sword pointed at your opponent.

Meanwhile, Charmander lets out a loud cry, its mouth sparking in response, before the brilliant blue flame ignights, smacking the Golduck back towards the cliff's edge. However, the blue pokemon just smirks, as its gem glows ever darker, as it raises a hand, causing a disk of water to appear before it, then erupting in a strong pulse of water, crashing directly into the fire-type, however Charmadner remained standing, letting out a weak cry. "Char..."

You decide that the priestess without her knife can do no harm to Girafarig, and Charmander may not be able to take another blast of water from the Golduck if you don't do something quickly. You're not sure what exactly Alan did, but if its anything like the last time he cast a spell, he's probably worn out for the moment. You briefly reach down and grab the knife, fitting it under a belt, and leave the priestess alone on the altar.

You strategically rush directly in front of Charmander, shielding him from any surprise blows from the creature in front of you now. You see the Golduck stagger slightly, as its gems glows even deeper, however it manages to hold its ground, as you hear the chorus chant. "Kyogre, hear our prayer. Our sacrifices to you are all too worthy, so give us the strength to claim them for you..."

You notice the Priestess smirking where you left her, the blue gems in her dress glowing vibrantly, as rings of water rose up from behind her, encircling her defensively. You also notice her hand lacks the wound you inflicted just moments ago. However, the purple glowing gem seems to be more of an urgent concern, as the onlookers are no longer sitting idly by, and are in fact slowing approaching you from all sides. Some have already grabbed Alan by the arms, who seems too weak to fight back at the moment.

Roll {8+3=12}
You look back to the Golduck, and the pieces begin to come together in your mind. This Pokemon was clearly the one behind the gems,. and if it was out of the picture then everything would go back to normal. Besides, you couldn't risk it managing another attack against Charmander. So with a single powerful thrust, you strike, your blade finding its way straight through the water-types heart, its eyes going white as its gem began to flicker. You remove your blade with one quick motion, freeing the Pokemon to sway back and forth a little, before staggering back, and falling off the cliff into the waters below.

Behind you, you could hear the confused mumblings of the townspeople, taking off the gems, unsure why they were even there. However, they could all see the priestess in her glory, rings of water still protecting her, her kind smile now replaced by a grimace of dissatisfaction. You turn back to face the crowd, all looking at you with a sword still red with blood, then back to the Girafarig tied up on the altar, all seemingly too confused to move. You then here the priestess speak up. "My people! I have just freed you from this witch's control! She serves Groudon, and has been the cause of our drought! Seize her!"

You see the crowd look amongst themselves, some hang their heads in shame, before focusing their gaze on the priestess, clearly not used to operating without the psychic assistance of her Pokemon. "Are you truly willing to believe the words of this outside over me? Without me, you'll never have rain again, and you shores will run barren!"

You see the light in the blue gems on her dress flickering slowly, the ringlets of water around her dissipating as well. The crowd here seems to be turning on her, and are more than suitable to count as witnesses of justice by any regional law. However, taking her to be tried by the proper authorities would be socially beneficial, although it would delay gratification from the native populace.

You see the looks of vengeance flash through some of the eyes of a few of the mob approaching the priestess, and a look of fear coming across her face. As easy as it would be to simply allow her to be tried by this angry mob, you were still a fighter for justice, and felt the need to step in. "I volunteer to capture this woman, and bring her to face justice for her crimes at the nearest Temple of Kyogre. Once the evils have been exorcised, I'm sure the rains will return to your village on their own accord."

The mob seemed to calm down, but still approached the priestess, but only to roughly tie her arms behind her back and rip off the blue jewels from her clothes before throwing her at your feet. A villager approaches you, who you soon recognize as the old man from the General Store. He looks at you with a shaky glance. "Thank you for your aid, but if what you say is true, then you must take her at once. We can't stand her in our village for even a single night more. Odo has agreed to sail you out to Emerald Island, which is near the center of the lake, and holds the largest Temple of Kyogre in the area.

You look down to see Charmander weak, but still managing to stand, with Alan in a similar state finally making his way to you through the crowd. Your Girafarig was freed and is now trotting up to your side, visibly shaken by the ordeal it had been through. It seems that only you can take her to the island, and if you're going to do it, you need to do it now.

You sigh as you look down at your new prisoner. You decide that you'll just have to make it up to Alan about your little detour later, as you want to become a Knight of justice, and have stories told of your valiant deeds one day. It just so happens the first of which might have to be prisoner transport. You get some assistance to lift her up and over Girafarig, tying her down tight. The smaller head seems all too eager for revenge, and you don't see the harm in allowing it a few bites before dissuading it.

You walk over to the boat dock, Odo a much more unassuming man than when you first encountered him. Its clear his act of volunteering was more a group decision than his own, but then again his boat was still the only transport capable of taking your entire party across the water, especially now with the additional dead weight. You load Girafarig into the cargo hold with the Priestess, sure the smaller head was more than a sufficient watch dog, and settle in amongst the seats. Since your heading out into further waters, Odo takes time to undo the sail, however the nighttime air is calm and gentle, prompting a slow trajectory out into the open lake. Charmander has managed to climb into your nap, cuddled around his weak tail flame, clearly an indication of his state. You would ask Alan if he could heal him, but the Novice Mage's demeanor made it clear that his casting had still tired him out.

And through a combination of the warmth of the fire-type in your lap, the stillness of the lake, and the light sound of water rippling against the ship, you drift off to sleep...
